Dallas City Cemetery Anthropology
A great many books have been written about cemeteries in Dallas, Texas. More specifically,
many of these books are based on the pioneer cemeteries of Dallas s founding families. Many of
Dallas s older cemeteries are not in use today for anything more than tours or an occasional local
history lesson in a quiet park, and some of these cemeteries have been absorbed by large funeral
companies while others are protected by private organizations. Dallas s rich historycontains a
variety of cemeteries that tell us how burial practices in Dallas have reflected Dallas s societal
changes.
Public burial sites were intended to serve the whole community and are closely integrated into
community history. The sites carry multiple social and political ... Show more content on

A wooden marker was generally used with no identification of the deceased. Little thought was
given to marking the grave site because the gravedigger seldom expected to be able to protect
and maintain the site. In the 1840s, as people began to settle into the Dallas area, burial practices
changed. These early pioneers buried their loved ones in unorganized, isolated places usually on
the family s land. Occasionally, the spot on the family farm might even be shared by a
neighboring family. Family burial sites can be found all around Dallas in random places, such as
the Letot, Daniel or Caruth family cemeteries. However, these sites are actually considered plots
rather than cemeteries as they were not designed for perpetual care. The notion of protecting the
dead was not a concern at the time and certainly not in the manner as it is

Supplements And Popularity Of Private Label Supplements
Now and again, the supplements that are given by commercial supplements companies are not
precisely what a customer is searching for. Numerous nutritious supplement providers are putting
forth their clients an opportunity to make their Private label supplements no minimum in a low

If you have a unique product concept, odds are you will experience considerable difficulties
thinking that its accessible for the private mark. Hence, organizations commonly utilize Private
name supplements no Minimum for essential vitamins and supplements. When beginning another
vitamin organization or supplement business, individual marked items are an extraordinary
approach to manufacture a multi item mark. Essentially all shopper items can be fabricated under
this sort of course of action, from single mark supplements, private name beauty care products to
own name sustenances; the rundown is unending. The principle thought behind private assembling
is to give an ease different option to standard items. The reason may likewise be to profit to buyers
a current item in an alternate shape. A good example of the latter is a private label vitamin
supplement in liquid form as an alternative to solid vitamin pills.
Marketing your Private Label Supplements No Minimum

The Prolonged Identity Crisis Economic Difference of East and West Germany
In February of 1945, the Nazi Germans got defeated and soon surrendered to the allied powers.
Germany s nation was split between the four allied powers: United States, Great Britain, Soviet
Union, and France. In addition, the capital city of Berlin was also divided amongst the Allied
Powers into four sections. However, tensions among the Western Powers and Soviet Union caused
a shift into a Cold War. In 1949, Germany and the city of Berlin got divided into two nations in
which became known as the West and East Germany. West Germany is known as the Federal
Republic of Germany (FRG) and is supported by the three Western Powers. East Germany is known
as the German Democratic Republic (GDR) and is governed by the Soviet Union. The Western
Powers and the Soviet Union created different philosophy within the territories that they governed.
Each of the territory has its own identity, economy outlook, and lifestyle.
East Germany and West Germany struggles to identify their social identity because of the
reconstruction of the German society guided by the Western Powers and Soviet Union. The GDR
was closely monitored by the Soviets and FRG was overseen by the Western Powers. As tensions
increased more and more during the Cold War, the major powers sought to form a national identity
to the divide not only Germany, but also the people. The German

The Objectification of Women in Advertisements Essay
The objectification of women is a huge issue in society and is often led by advertising. However
many men still believe that the adverts depicting women in a sexual and often passive posture are
not very offensive but rather very funny or sexy. However how would they feel if it were their
daughter or sister being advertised throughout the world as a sex object?
The Tiger Beer advertisement shown in the appendix is a clear example of the objectification of
women in advertising. The Tiger Beer advert was made to appeal to men from the age of 20 to 60.
The advert seeks to get a cheap laugh from the target audience with the image of the woman in a
sexual pose and the picture of the beer. The ad promotes the idea that beer is the most... Show more

Another problem is the first place award associated with the beer and the third place award placed
next to the woman. Also the copy is somewhat offensive as it clearly implies that the best things to
come out of the Far East are prostitutes and beer.
The problem with the woman s stance and sexual nature is that she is viewed merely as an object
that must compete with beer for male attention. This stereotype is repeatedly used in several ads
where it is expected that the woman should be competing to pleasure the man like beer does. It
uses the stereotype of the man who simply must be pleased all day long by beer, women, footy,
and fast cars. This stereotype has also appeared in the BMW ad featured in the appendix which
shows a woman having sex with a man while the man thinks about the new car he saw in a
magazine. This ad also shows the man as someone whose attention must constantly be satisfied with
beer, women, footy or cars and each of these elements must compete for his attention whether it s an
inanimate object or a woman.
The advert makes a joke about the sex industry in Asia clearly implying that Asian prostitutes are an
object designed to give men immediate pleasure. The ad puts beer and prostitutes into the same
category of things required to please a man. The fact that women are lower than beer in this
category appeals to the stereotypical moron who thinks the most important things in life

James D. Watson was born in 1928 on April 6th in Illinois, Chicago. He attended Horace Mann
Grammar school and South shore High School and spent most of his childhood there. After he
won a scholarship and enrolled at the age of 15 to the University of Chicago. He then attended the
Indiana University in Bloomington after receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in zoology. Then
he received his PhD in zoology in 1950.
When he worked at the University of Copenhagen, Watson started his investigation on the structure

Watson and Crick along Maurice Wilkins won the 1962 Nobel Prize in Medicine because of
their amazing Discovery of the Structure of DNA. They published the news of their discovery in
April 1953, a molecular structure of DNA based on all its known features the double helix. Their
model explained how DNA replicates and how hereditary information is coded onto it. This was
one of the most significant discoveries of the 20th century. They also received a lot of other prizes
for their astonishing work.
After the discovery Crick worked on genetics a bit more and later moved into brain research when
he became a professor at Salk Institute of Biological Studies in California.

Working Environment Gatherings Are Turning Out
Working environment gatherings are turning out to be more basic in today s associations.
Organizations are looking for the cooperative energy that creates when individuals meet up to take
a shot at a task
A group unites people with comparative hobbies and destinations. Cooperation starts with, and
manufactures connections among, a gathering of individuals who offer a typical intrigue or reason.
Working in groups permits people from diverse regions (e.g. projects, raising support, and
advertising) with distinctive parts (staff, volunteer, and customer/purchaser/client) and maybe from
diverse associations to cooperate on issues of enthusiasm to colleagues.

A Model of Task Group Developmentin Complex Organizations and a strategy of Implementation
J. Stephen Heinen, Eugene Jacobson(1976) said More successful utilization of little gatherings or
groups in an association has been recommended as a method for expanding inspiration at work,
through promising more prominent association and self rule in choice making, and for adapting to
the dynamic complexities of hierarchical life. Hierarchical and mechanical clinicians have been

Drunk Driving Under The Influence (DUI)
Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to make it clear that there needs to be stricter drunk driving laws and
penalties. The impact of driving under the influence (DUI) has a significant risk to the safety of
the public. Driving under the influence of alcohol or while intoxicated (DWI) is not a new
dilemma, it has been around since the invention of the automobile. Driving needs a considerable
amount of ability, such as alertness, concentration, clear vision, and reaction time. However, when
a person is intoxicated, the skill set that is used for safe driving becomes greatly debilitated,
leading to an elevated risk for car accidents. Driving drunk has caused many alcohol related deaths
and injuries. These disasters could be avoided with harsher ... Show more content on

These penalties are not strict enough, especially for repeat DUI offenders. According to the
CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention), drivers with BAC of .08% or higher involved in
fatal crashes were seven times more likely to have a prior conviction for a DWI than were drivers
with no alcohol in their system ( Impaired Driving , 2015).
In a perfect world, there would be no need for a paper to be written about the alarming statistics
of a DUI offense. Unfortunately, DUI and DWI arrests and related deaths are a common
occurrence in our nation. Every day, 28 people in the United States die in motor vehicle crashes
that involve an alcohol impaired driver. This amounts to one death every 53 minutes. The annual
cost of alcohol related crashes totals more than $44 billion. In Pennsylvania alone, 4,663 people
were killed in crashes involving a drunk driver from 200 2012 ( Impaired Driving ,

Their Eyes Were Watching God By Zora Neale Hurson Analysis
In 1791 Thomas Paine wrote the book Rights of Man in which Paine illustrates his thoughts on
the unity of the American people. Walter Russell, however, says America has always been a
division of man. There has always been the conqueror and conquered the master and slave the
ruler and the ruled the oppressor and the oppressed. There has never been content nor unity.
There has been only discontent and disunity . While in the United States there are people similar
to Thomas, who believe and strive for freedom and diversity, there are also those who Walter
Russell illustrates that promote racism, violence, and disunity. I mostly disagree with Thomas
Paine because, while there are times of peace; justice; and concord, there are far greater
instances of oppression, privilege, and riots. Two examples of oppression in the America come
from the book Their Eyes Were Watching God written by Zora Neale Hurston. Janie, a black
woman living in the post civil war South, is oppressed by her husband, Logan Killicks, when he
yells at her, Ah ll take holt uh dat ax and come in dere and kill yuh! You better dry up in dere! Ah
m too honest and hard workin for anybody in yo family, dat s de reason you don t want me! (38).
Logan disrespects his wife and puts her below him by saying he is more honest and diligent than
her and her family, showing oppression in the America on a personal level with husband and wife.
An example of oppression on a more communal level is with Jody, the mayor

HIV Specialist
What is an HIV Specialist?
An HIV specialist is a licensed doctor who meets the eligibility requirements of the American
Academy of HIV Medicine (AAHIVM) to provide care for HIV infected patients. What is an HIV
Specialist?
A typical HIV specialist will be a practicing physician with a background in clinical, internal or
family medicine. On a daily basis, they provide comprehensive primary health care services to
patients with HIV. Their entire work focus is the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of HIV. Some
HIV specialists work for community and government programs. Their time is spent conducting
onsite HIV tests and supporting outreach efforts through directly engaging patients and the public.
Senior HIV specialists will be responsible for clinical services, medical administration and program
development. They chair committees, ensure compliance with regulations and develop and review
policies and procedures. They also train other health care providers and collaborate with other
organizations to offer HIV care services.

Nfl Protest
As a son of immigrants, I admire the American flag because it represents strength and sacrifice
from brave people who died for standing up for what is right. People often make mistakes and
misinterpret certain situations. The protest made by NFL players aren t done in a form of
disrespecting the US flag. What is disrespectful is the reaction of President Trump s
inappropriate response towards the NFL players who kneeled calling them a son of a bitch. The
way on how I view the situation is that the NFL players in a respectful and peaceful manner are
protesting against the social injustices that are ignored in modern society. This form of protesting
has never happened in sports, which is why I think that people need to realize the seriousness of
the situation. The players only want to make people aware of the... Show more content on

I feel that President Trump needs to reevaluate his ideas and compare those who want social change
because truly the protest has a deeper meaning that the President hasn t viewed. The only way for
change to occur is by uniting all communities, a reality that is being created by the NFL players to
promote equality. By acting and not going, hopefully, that will inspire some change when it comes
to what we tolerate in this country and what is accepted and what we turn a blind eye to, a quote
from Steph Curry which I agree that people can often disagree due to having a limited mind with
certain ideas that leads to false assumptions and judgements about others. Both authors from CNN
and Fox News remained impartial and reported about the same issue using multiple sources from
social media mainly from players and the president s reactions but were also written the same day.
However, both sources reported the situation about Colin Kaepernick differently. The report from
CNN stated that Kaepernick initiated the protest that set the

Topic: 1972 Munich Olympic Massacre
Area of Investigation:
Outline the main historical debates, perspectives or interpretations you will be discussing
Discuss the role that West German authorities played during the 1972 Munich Olympic crisis,
specifically addressing their preparation prior to Black September s terrorist, as well as their
consequent actions and decisions made during the crisis. Primarily, assess whether criticisms of the

justifiable.

Nevertheless, they still could prove to be beneficial towards my final project.
Regarding my question, I am trying to find a variety of sources which portray differing
perspectives as I not only intend on recounting the actions of the West German Authorities, but also
portray differing views and criticisms of their response. From what I have gathered from my initial
research, these historical interpretations don t necessarily derive from specific schools of thought
(as the event is quite recent) but more so from differing sociopolitical/cultural regions of the world.
These include a Western view, such as American Simon Reeve, Israeli view such as Yarin Kimor
and German perspective such as Manfried Schreiber. Furthermore, some of these sources aren t
necessarily historical scholars but rather journalists, experts in their respective field, or simply
significant characters surrounding the crisis.
Another one of the major issues surrounding this topic is the limited amount of information
readily available. However, I have not let that deter me in fact I have used it as a motivating
force. I believe that this essay will, to a degree, be groundbreaking, as it looks specifically at the
numerous errors and inadequate preparation by the West Germans. This is something very few of

Idi Amin As A Leader That Abuse The Power
Throughout history there have been many leaders who abuse the power that has been bestowed
upon them. A person who abuses such power is considered a dictator, tyrant, despot, etc. These
dictators typically rule through fear, and don t usually win the hearts of many. They will do
whatever it takes to stay in power over the country that they rule. One such ruler is named Idi Amin.
Idi was a ruler who abused his power and saw himself as someone who was a man of influence.
Idi Amin was born on 1925 in Koboka, Uganda (History.com). He was raised with little to no
education, but quickly found his place in the world. He joined the King s African Rifles (KAR) and
quickly rose through the ranks.Milton Obote had become the first prime minister of Uganda in
1962. He had forged an alliance with Amin, who helped expand the size of the Ugandan military.
After a few assassination attempts, Obote began to question Amin s loyalty and ordered his arrest.
When the leader of Uganda was away, Amin staged a coup and seized the government. Idi took the
government with blood, which isn t surprising due to his reputation (History.com).
Idi earned his reputation through the killing of about 500,000 people (History.com). He started off
by executing members of the Acholi and Lango tribes that had been loyal to Obote, and set up
agencies to eliminate anyone opposed to his regime. Within his rule he expelled Uganda s entire
Asian population, resulting in a collapse of the economy as manufacturing,

Impact Of The Enlightenment Of Witch Hunt
The Enlightenment of Witch Hunt and The Change of New England Society
Many people may have heard of Witch Hunt, but only a very small number of people really
understand the reason behind the comical history. The 17th century New England was in change.
At that time, the traditional way of dealing with things, the means of facing dissension and the laws
and rules of the new era caused a dramatic tension: the confrontation between judicial system and
tradition mode. In the past, people s methods of dealing with difficult things tended to appeal to
supernatural powers, which led to the truth distored or buried. The emergence of the judicial system
had greatly challenged this traditional method. By reading Escaping Salem we can feel the
transformation process.
The story of Witch Hunt in Escaping Salem is not complicated. A maid named Kate was
suddenly mad out of unknown reason and says she is bewtiched. Gradually the neighbors begin
to believe that Kate was indeed bewitched. At the same time, Kate begins to name three
suspected witch names, two of whom are tried. The villagers of the story do not play the role of
fools. There is a sharp contrast between the scholars who graduated from famous universites and
the ordinary villagers. For example, John Bishop was an educated and experienced man of God:
he had graduated from Oxford in 1632 (26). However, he and his friend who is a pastor, believe
that Kate is bewitched without doubt. This example shows the division of society at that

Myofascial Pain
BODY:
Myofascial pain has an association with Tension Type Headache, leading to a hypothesis that
manual therapy to treat myofascial trigger points, through trigger point release, relieves Tension
Type Headache.
Various studies have been performed to determine the efficacy of myofascial trigger pointrelease on
relieving tension type headache intensity, frequency and duration. These studies have relied on
subjective pain measurement such as a visual analogue scale (VAS) or the McGill Pain
Questionnaire to determine effectiveness of a treatment as biochemical evidence in the form of
precise molecular identification remains unclear.

During the assessments, the therapist used an Algometer to determine pressure (Newtons/CMВІ).
Moraska, A. F. et al found myofascial trigger point release to be effective in increasing Pressure
Pain Thresholds, (decreasing myofascial tenderness), at myofascial trigger points.
In a randomized, placebo controlled trial, immediate and continued improvement in PPT at MTrPs
was observed in individuals with myofascial pain expressed as TTH. Gains in PPT of similar
magnitude to the first session were also observed after the 12th massage treatment even though a
significantly higher baseline was established. The present study underscores MTrP responsiveness
to treatment yet also shows that attaining full resolution of trigger point pain may require multiple
treatment sessions.(A. F. Moraska, Schmiege, Mann, Butryn, Krutsch, 2017)

Essay On The Cuban Missile Crisis
13 Days: How did President Kennedy bring the Cuban missile crisis to a peaceful conclusion?
What was the cuban missile crisis? Was it a war or was it a standoff between the United States
and Soviet Union? The Cuban Missile Crisis was basically a missile scare. It was an engagement
between the United States and the Soviet Union regarding Soviet ballistic missiles that were nuclear
armed and deployed in Cuba. The Soviet Union carried the missiles from overseas by ships. This
lasted 13 days and consisted of fear, fighting, and most of all, difficult decisions for both the U.S.
and the Soviet Union.
It was in October of 1962 that a U.S. spy plane discovered that the Soviet Union had nuclear
equipped missiles placed in the country of Cuba. This was a serious threat to the United States
because Cuba was just 90 miles from our shores and Cuba was a close ally of the Soviet Union.
President Kennedy was shocked and started right away to secretly meet with his advisors to
discuss this big problem. Nuclear equipped missiles could easily reach America being that we
were so close to Cuba. He didn t want the soviet union or cuba to know that he discovered the
missiles. There were already tensions between the U.S and Soviets due to the ongoing cold war with

war and calmed hostilities with the Soviet Union. It even opened up a line of communication with
the Soviet Union. The presidents of both countries had a direct line to each other in case future
conflicts arose. As the president, Kennedy had a lot of pressure to make sure that he was making
smart judgements that would keep the U.S. safe and keep peace around the

Strawberry Fields by Miriam Wells
There has been a long standing debate between the socio economic theories of capitalism and
socialism. The current socio economic system is capitalism but many feel it is not ideal due to
the fact that it is based on making a profit. On the other hand, socialism is based on equality of all,
which is enacted by paying all workers the same amount of money regardless of occupation.
Miriam J. Wells is against capitalismand holds a socialist view point. According to Wells, politics

Wells tries to prove here that not only does the government think about profits but they also think
about who has the power in the agri business. America is usually thought of as the land of equal
opportunity for all , but in fact the government does not provide equal economic opportunities.
Instead, the government helps big business owners exploit their immigrant employees.
Furthermore, Well s argument also shows how even in a capitalist society a system such as
sharecropping can exist and bring with it better class relations that benefit growers and workers.
One reason for the return of sharecropping was due to labor shortages caused by the termination
of the Bracero program. Growers decided to divide their farms into smaller groups which are
headed by a husband and wife; they supervised a couple of workers who were family members or
friends. This enhanced personal connections as personal relationships played a role in order to
get a profit out of the farm allocated. By working alongside family and friends, there was a
motivation to perform. Due to the personal work relations, there was no need of employers
/employees. The sharecroppers did not believe they were superior to their fellow laborers. This
shows that even though there is a capitalist society there was a sense of community. These people
are not only thinking about individual profits but also the profit for their family and friends. This
also leads to there being no labor resistance. Workers

Class conflict has always been a big problem in the United States because the lower and upper

represents class conflict in various ways through characters, symbols, ideas and language.
Williams uses color to emphasize the theme of class struggle, the lower class characters are

#5. Studying the Effect of Blood Vessel Radius on Pump Activity
Explain the effect of increasing the right flow tube radius on the flow rate, resistance, and pump rate.
Increasing the right flow tube radius increased the flow rate, decreased the resistance and increased
the pump rate.
Describe what the left and right beakers in the experiment correspond to in the human heart
The left beaker corresponded to the blood coming from the lungs, and the right beaker
corresponded to blood heading out to the rest of the body, or systemic circuit.
Briefly describe how the human heart could compensate for flow rate changes to maintain blood
pressure.
The human heart could compensate for flow rate changes to maintain blood pressure by altering

Why did the Order in council PC 1003 came into effect? During the Second World War, the
federal government declared the state of emergency which made the Canadian government to
grant the Canadians workers the same right as the American workers. It was in 1935 when the
industrial unionism spread to the Canada. In 1937, Canada suffered from the great depression.
This depression brought social unrest and poverty to the working class Canadians. This made
the Canadian government to ignore the hard work of their labourforce for quite long time. For
example, in November 1939, the federal government introduced PC 3495, which extended the
IDIA to all industries involved in war production. Thus the order in council PC 1003 came into
effect which granted the legal basis for the collective bargaining in Canada. The main reason for
the Canadian working class to adapt to the order in council PC 1003 was the recognition of the
union. There were many large strikes that took place before the PC 1003 was adopted. One of the
significant strikes was the Winnipeg general strike that the whole world remembers. The cause that

The Conservation Of The Feral Pigs
INTRODUCTION This model addresses the pathways in which ecological drivers are having
significant influence over the natural systems of Hawaii. Climate change is one of the most
pressing issues of our time; Hawaii has not been exempt from the effects. We re witnessing a large
increase in sea levels, which can lead to the erosion of the small islands and eventually displace
humans. Climate change also is influencing the way we manage forests, to promote carbon
sequestration we must focus on managing forests for sustainable regeneration. Forest regeneration
also influences other ecosystem services like cultural, regulating, provisioning and supporting
services. Specifically dealing with the presence of feral pigs we see different drivers causing the
increase in population and disturbances. Cultural drivers are an issue. There is debate over control
methods for the feral pigs has been gridlocked between conservation biologists/environmentalists,
hunters and managers. Public hunts have been highly encouraged due to low costs, but hunters are
afraid of snare traps that could hurt them and potentially kill their dogs. Conservationists want to
restore native vegetation. Managers are seeking public approval and effective means of control.
Overall, not enough is being done and human relations are being strained. This is reducing cultural
services from the land immensely. Another driver is changing land use and development, which is
highly stressing for the ecosystems.

Each of these dance videos is unique and similar with its own story behind the dance movements
and settings. The video, CafГ© Mueller, performed in 1978 by Pina Bausch, was very interesting to
watch but confusing to determine the actual story plot. In the beginning, a woman enters through
a revolving door and hurries around a dark room of chairs. She appears to be confused, scurrying
in many directions, almost like the quickness of life in a dark empty world. As she leaves, another

fighting amongst these groups in their movements. The music of this video was powerful and
spooky as to the quick action of the dancers. The performance appeared to represent a jazz, lyrical
interpretative manner. The outfits also portrayed that to be contemporary and even futuristic. The
movements of the dancers was very precise, quick and multiple, while occurring at the same time.

Hutton and Bate s views on Charles II s Domestic Policy in England In the books Charles II King
of England, Scotland, and Ireland, by Ronald Hutton, and The Declaration of Indulgence 1672 a
study in the rise of organized dissent, by Frank Bate, both authors expound the Declaration of
Indulgence enforced by King Charles II of England in 1672 in attempt to restore religious toleration
to all religions. Ronald Hutton, the author of Charles II King of England, Scotland, and Ireland,
believes that the Declaration of Indulgence was the key to keeping England unified. Hutton also

relentless and inhumane. Hutton views on Parliament were slightly different. Hutton interpreted
Parliament s Act of Uniformity as a way of restoring order to the government. While their opinions
about Parliament s Act are different, they both agree that Parliament is limiting the power of the

religious tolerance to Catholics and Protestants. After the creation of the Test Act, all non anglicans

The Cause Of Celiac Disease
Celiac Disease Celiac disease is a disease that is characterized by an autoimmune reaction to
gluten. Because of the way that the body reacts to gluten, the mucosa in the small intestine
becomes damaged (Mayo Clinic Staff, 2013). The mucosa is able to heal itself in the absence of
gluten, so many utilize strict diets excluding gluten as a method of therapy for the disease. Celiac
disease has inspired many different scientists and researchers to look into the cause of the disease
and how to better cure it (Green, P. H., Cellier, C., 2007). There are many myths and

Multicultural Issues In Multicultural Education
Multicultural Issues Raquel mentions she failed the seventh grade; as a result she was placed in

mentions language barriers is a hindrance among Latin American while in school. Many Latin
Americans are bilingual; however, the will speak little English outside of the school setting. This
causes complications due to their primary language is Spanish which is spoken by familyand friends
(Brammer, 2004). Additionally, Latin American endures a vast amount of peer pressure to do
poorly in school or to drop out. One method to reduce the dropout rate of Latin Americans is
teachers can make reasonable accommodation to their lesson plan to the address the students needs.
Also involving the child s parents in their educations with the use of interpreters can assist the child
to thrive educationally (Amy Buttler, personal communication, November 7, 2017). It is mentioned
that Raquel s family has strong ethnicity rooted in the Costa Rican lineage. Latin Americans tend to
have strong family ties that rely on the support and strength of each other. Familismo is a part of
their cultural placing high value on the family that extends past the nuclear family (e.g.

caused by the unusually warm weather in October, a lot of wood things made, and in poorer

warm weather not only caused the fire but because of it, crops were often destroyed. Anyways, we

pink slip to speak in front of a school board this time as a teacher for my current school district,
San Diego County Office of Education (SDCOE) Juvenile Court and Community Schools
(JCCS). Since that first pink slip scare with JCCS, I have been a regular attendee at SDCOE
board meetings. I try my best to pay attention and even take notes when JCCS is on the agenda. I
have spoken on behalf of my students and coworkers and even helped to introduce my site s
student board representative. However, I honestly spend most of the meetings bored by detailed
presentations about programs far removed from my classroom or confused by topics that I do not
completely understand. However, I keep attending. During the past few weeks, I attended the San
Diego Unified School District (SDUSD) June 2 meeting and the SDCOE June 10 meeting. After
observing a board meeting in a traditional school district for the first time in ten years, I was
reminded of the strong parent and community voice that is often shared during board meetings in
local districts. On the other hand county board meetings are

Essay on Isaac Storm
Isaac Storm
On Friday evening, September 7, 1900, many of the 37,000 residents of Galveston, Texas, were
settling down to dinner, few if any of them concerned about the steady 15 mph northerly wind
rattling their windows. Within 48 hours, at least 8,000 of the townspeople would be dead, victims
of the single worst natural disaster in U.S. history. Relatively few people are aware that the
deadliest natural disaster in the United States was the hurricane that struck Galveston Island on
September 8, 1900. One of the best resources that can be found to help fully understand the
significance of this storm is Isaac s Storm: A Man, a Time, and the Deadliest Hurricane in History

to the Western Union office in Houston. At five o clock the anemometer recorded winds of 102
mph before itself was carried away in a rush. Like that, the full fury of the storm was upon the
island. Waters from the Gulf of Mexico and Galveston Bay quickly rose to meet each other,
effectively swallowing the island.
Throughout the night, the people of Galveston fought to survive. Buildings and homes began
collapsing; blowing debris killed or maimed many people who managed to remain above the rising
tide. Water poured through second story windows, forcing hundreds into the ocean where they
were drowned or killed by wind driven debris. The tide reached 15 feet with breakers more that 25
feet. Many survivors, including Isaac, his three daughters and brother, spent the night clinging to
the remains of their homes.
By the morning, floodwaters had drained back into the sea. The corpses of people and animals
lay intermingled through out the island; some were struck down in the street by debris, while
others were crushed beneath their shelter or drowned. At least 6,000 to 7,000 Galveston resident
were dead. Isaac survived along with his 3 daughters and younger brother Joe, but Isaac s wife
Cora did not survive. Her body was found a few weeks later, identified by her engagement ring,
which from then on Isaac wore.
High heat and humidity quickly settled over the city and made the stench from the thousands

Justice Penny White of Tennessee, lost her retention...
Justice Penny White of Tennessee, lost her retention election in 1996 after the Tennessee
Conservative Union campaigned against her, saying she was soft on crime and capital
punishment. A retention election is beneficial because it eliminates Justices that feel pity or
emotion towards cases and/or people. Justice White for example ordered a new death sentence
hearing for the case of State v. Odom and was knocked off the bench in a retention election
because of her decision. This retention election process is beneficial because it allows citizens to
retain judges who are doing significantly. It also allows us as citizens to vote off Judges who we
think are doing poorly or do not represent us as a whole. Justice Penny White... Show more content

The implications of a governor targeting this Justice were because she was soft on punishment.
The Republican governor as well as the senators opposed her ( Vile 2003 ). Justice White said that
the Chief Justice wanted to fill her spot with someone in his party (Denver Bar Association). All the
signs of putting someone on death row were there but she preferred not too affirm the death
penalty that was imposed in accordance with the law. In this case of State V. Odom (Vile 2003),
the people did not like the decision in which Justice White made so she lost in a hotly contest in
which voted turnout was a negligible 55 percent. Justice Penny White was not the person the citizen
of Tennessee wanted representing them, when it was time for retention election over half ( 55% )
of the citizen voted her off.The reason there is penalty for committing a crime is to deter people
from committing the same act again. If you don t be hard on crime then the crime rate will

Good or Bad Customer Service Essay
A large part of being a good service provider is ensuring customer convenience.
Study findings show that strong leadership systems focus on customers, motivate employees, and
implement their customer service vision. They also focus great attention on gathering the
information needed to track customer satisfaction, and employees overall performance. Customer
service should be designed and delivered seamlessly from the customer s point of view. Customer
driven operations lead to success. Decentralized, uncoordinated customer service provision makes
for a most frustrating experience for customers.

I took my family to our local McDonalds for lunch a week ago (after 1 pm) and waited in line for
over 25 minutes with only 4 other customers in line before us. Of the two cash registers
originally open, one lady (unable to read name covered by apron) left without informing the
people in line directly in front of her that she was closing. The assistant manager (I assume since
he had no name tag but was wearing a striped shirt (everyone else was wearing green shirts)) was
called to the front 4 times to correct erroneous orders, and finally opened another register.
Unfortunately, he waited on us. We ordered salad shakers that ended up being (at best) warm.
He needed to return to the register for each item, and even then had the order messed up. He
literally threw my children s orders of French fries on the tray as well as their burgers. While we
were waiting, I watched one rather slovenly worker (with a large grease stain and cheese on his

There appeared to be more than enough people working, but planning and management were
severely lacking.
I recently visited another McDonalds in my area with my kids and my little cousin, then I have

Criminal Appeal Process
Federal Criminal Appeal Process as a Social Policy
The losing party in a judgment by a federal district court, in general has a right to appeal the
judgment to the next highest court, which is usually the United States Circuit Court of Appeals. In
a federal criminal case, the government may not appeal a not guilty verdict, though they may appeal
the sentence imposed on a criminal convict. In a federal criminal case, the defendant may appeal
their conviction and the sentence.
The party who files the appeal is known as the appellant. The appellant has the burden of proof. The
appellant must demonstrate to the United States Circuit Court of Appeals that the federal district

Secondly, as stated above, the burden of proof is on the appellant to prove that an error occurred
and that the error was substantial. Errors that do not impinge on the substantial rights of the
appellant are disregarded as harmless error. Number of Appeals Overview
As a general rule, the final judgment of a lower district may only be appealed once to the next
higher court. Therefore, the total number of appeals is dependent upon the total number of superior
courts to the lower district court, which rendered the judgment. The first appeal is the appeal as of
right (Levenson, 2017). The appeal as of right entitles the appellant to the assistance of counsel
(Levenson, 2017).
Steps in Filing a Timely Appeal: File the Notice of Appeal
Filing an appeal is ordinarily a two step process: firstly, file the notice of appeal. The notice of
appeal is filed with the lower district court, which simply notifies the lower district court that the
defendant is appealing the case. The United States Circuit Court of Appeals may not consider an
appeal, if the lower district court has not received timely notice of appeal. In criminal appeals,
notice of appeal must be filed within ten days from the date the lower district court s judgment if
filed (Levenson, 2017).
Secondly, file the appellate brief with the United States Circuit Court of Appeals. As stated above,

How Social Media Could Rule Banking And Insurance Essay
How Social Media Could Rule Banking and Insurance When the internet first came into being,
there was no way that the finance of a country could depend on it. But it was quite evident that
internet was heavily dependent on the financial stature of a republic. However, times have

how these two are completely entwined. Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter have completely changed

Best Meat Injector
Are you tired of eating a bland and dry tasting meat?
You can marinate the meat for as long as you wish, but the flavor only reaches the outside of your
meat cut. In order for the seasoning to fully penetrate through larger cuts of meat, you can try
injecting them with seasoning.
Turkeys are particularly notorious for being rather dry, but with the meat injector, you are more
likely to have a moist piece of meat that is extremely flavorful. You can also infuse jams and
syrups inside your pastries, like cakes and cupcakes.
With the best meat injector, your food is guaranteed to be bursting with flavors and seasoning.

Essay On Hero s Journey
A Hero s Journey The hero s journey can be found in ancient stories from thousands of years ago
as well as present day stories that may hit the big screen. The hero experiences a chain of events
that gives he or she, typically a male, a title of the hero . The hero s journey begins with either
an inner longing to go on a quest, or an exterior call that requires the hero s help outside of the
ordinary world. Heroes may, at first, refuse the call, or may respond to the call immediately.
However, there is usually some resistance to the call because of the potential danger he or she
could face from the unknown world. In most cases, a guide or a supernatural aid will direct the

The goddess is typically a symbol to marriage as the temptress attempts to sway the hero from

overcome the threshold as a close to the journey. The reward may result into death of one,
usually the villain, and a prize for the hero and community. Such is the case in various Biblical
passages. About a thousand years, before Jesus, the Israelites maintained an uneasy truce with
the Philistines who dominated the land. A troublemaker for the Philistines arises with an

unnamed in the story, has been childless for many years and yearns for a baby. One day an angel

Tsarist Autocracy In Russia
The Tsarist regime, an often barbaric feudal system, was balancing on the eve of collapse even
before the outbreak of World War One in 1914. Tsarism has a long and troubled history frequently
changing its views and opinions whilst demanding full dedication from its citizens. Tsarism s woes
were amplified at the dawn of the 20th century. Tsarism refused modernisation in a modern world
which led to events of historical merit such as the Bloody Sunday Massacre, and the Lena
Goldfields massacre. However, World War One did play a significant role in inciting revolution
against the Tsarist regime.

Compare And Contrast The Three Modes Of Dynamometry
The three modes of dynamometry are isometric, isoinertial, and isokinetic. Dynamometry is a
measurement of force/power, where strength is the ability to produce force. Direct measurements of
individual muscle forces are difficult to do and therefore, during an isometric contraction
(producing a force without lengthening of the muscle) is measured by pushing the limb onto a gauge
and then producing maximum force of the muscle against the immovable gauge. This form of
contraction is safe because there is no external force added to the muscle for it to push against/lift,
and therefore, the contraction is performed, without lengthening of the muscle, with zero load.
Similarly, the muscle will fatigue to failure before damage occurs to the muscle, making it a safe
test. This test... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, squats with a resistance band mimics the sitting to standing motion with a greater
mass, thereby causing you to create a greater force/power output to stand up. Isoinertial testing
is used in sports that involve acceleration and deceleration of a constant mass around the joints,
such as resistance training/weight lifting. Weight lifting involves the acceleration and
deceleration of a constant mass and is safe because if the weight is to heavy, the body will strain
to lift it and be unable to accomplish it. Similarly, if the weight is too light then the body will
easily be able to lift it. Since weight lifting is done in incremental stages by adding small weights
to their already accomplished weights, the lifter is mostly safe in this way. This form is testing is
also practical for a sport such as tennis because lifting the weights on a pulley through the racket
motion can determine how forceful your swing is and train those muscles to be more forceful.
Isoinertial testing is a reliable and valid form of testing because the body can only lift and pull so
much weight through a motion before it can no longer lift

The Republican Party Platform Of 1860
As the Republican Party Platform of 1860 came into existence, there were
situations that occurred in the United States that were inevitable. The civil war was
inevitable, just as the many other occurrences that happened and were yet to happen.
Without the Republicans arising in that time and creating a platform to abide by, life in
the United States would have erupted. The platform was created to secure the union and
to stop succession by the south and to abolish slavery. Another issue the Republicans
brought forward to society to view was that majority of what the Constitution stated, was
being neglected or against in the times before 1860. They further developed a principle
that will forever, permanently, cease into existence, which will demand its peace and
achievement in the United States.
The act of disunion predominantly went unnoticed to the Republican Party. By
the act of sectional divisions in the Constitutional Union Party, it presented in
significance of denying a free government. Amongst the other parties, Democratic
members advocated threats of disunion. However, the Republicans did not evidently join
in these threats of disunion and feel that they should be applauded for this because the
threats were vital to the central government that was yet to exist. Through this
occurrence, the Republicans did not want to separate because they believed that the
denial of a free government was a part of treason. They wanted the United

Galston (2013) claims that idea of the common good has real content in theory and real utility in

Music Appreciation Period In The Renaissance Period
Music Appreciation class introduced me to the great masterpieces along with the talented artists
from the medieval period to present. It helped me understand more and appreciate art from
different periods more than a thousand years back. It refreshed me of the music terminologies and
added some more. We re able to recognize and identify musical instruments of various kinds of
music. We gained a better comprehension of a music s texture, melody, key, rhythm, style, or form.
Some music masterpieces in the past generations live up to the present time and continues to
evolve. The medieval period (476 1400) or the middle ages lasted about a thousand years. Medieval
music consists of liturgical music, songs, and instrumental pieces. The Gregorian chant was mainly
for sacred music. As the musical art progresses, plainchants transitioned into organum the earliest
polyphonic texture, but added an independent line of music to the chant. The Notre Dame School
of Polyphony had two generations of composition within this school: The Ars Antigua (Old Art) and
the Ars Nova (New Art). Guillaume de Machaut set ordinary mass in its entirety. He beautifully
constructs and represents the most advanced compositional techniques of his time: includes four
voices with more ornamentation contrary motion compares to the earlier three voice works. The
rise of humanism marks the Renaissance period. The Franco Flemish School writes music in four
voices. The composers of this era use a secular tune as

More specifically, many of these books are based on the pioneer cemeteries of Dallas s founding families. Many of Dallas s older cemeteries are not in use today for anything more than tours or an occasional local history lesson in a quiet park, and some of these cemeteries have been absorbed by large funeral companies while others are protected by private organizations. Dallas s rich historycontains a variety of cemeteries that tell us how burial practices in Dallas have reflected Dallas s societal changes. Public burial sites were intended to serve the whole community and are closely integrated into community history. The sites carry multiple social and political ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A wooden marker was generally used with no identification of the deceased. Little thought was given to marking the grave site because the gravedigger seldom expected to be able to protect and maintain the site. In the 1840s, as people began to settle into the Dallas area, burial practices changed. These early pioneers buried their loved ones in unorganized, isolated places usually on the family s land. Occasionally, the spot on the family farm might even be shared by a neighboring family. Family burial sites can be found all around Dallas in random places, such as the Letot, Daniel or Caruth family cemeteries. However, these sites are actually considered plots rather than cemeteries as they were not designed for perpetual care. The notion of protecting the dead was not a concern at the time and certainly not in the manner as it is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Jessie Sisavat Professor Agocs History 114 May 3, 2015 The Prolonged Identity Crisis Economic Difference of East and West Germany In February of 1945, the Nazi Germans got defeated and soon surrendered to the allied powers. Germany s nation was split between the four allied powers: United States, Great Britain, Soviet Union, and France. In addition, the capital city of Berlin was also divided amongst the Allied Powers into four sections. However, tensions among the Western Powers and Soviet Union caused a shift into a Cold War. In 1949, Germany and the city of Berlin got divided into two nations in which became known as the West and East Germany. West Germany is known as the Federal Republic of Germany (FRG) and is supported by the three Western Powers. • 7. The Objectification of Women in Advertisements Essay The objectification of women is a huge issue in society and is often led by advertising. However many men still believe that the adverts depicting women in a sexual and often passive posture are not very offensive but rather very funny or sexy. However how would they feel if it were their daughter or sister being advertised throughout the world as a sex object? The Tiger Beer advertisement shown in the appendix is a clear example of the objectification of women in advertising. The Tiger Beer advert was made to appeal to men from the age of 20 to 60. The advert seeks to get a cheap laugh from the target audience with the image of the woman in a sexual pose and the picture of the beer. The ad promotes the idea that beer is the most... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another problem is the first place award associated with the beer and the third place award placed next to the woman. Also the copy is somewhat offensive as it clearly implies that the best things to come out of the Far East are prostitutes and beer. The problem with the woman s stance and sexual nature is that she is viewed merely as an object that must compete with beer for male attention. This stereotype is repeatedly used in several ads where it is expected that the woman should be competing to pleasure the man like beer does. It uses the stereotype of the man who simply must be pleased all day long by beer, women, footy, and fast cars. This stereotype has also appeared in the BMW ad featured in the appendix which shows a woman having sex with a man while the man thinks about the new car he saw in a magazine. This ad also shows the man as someone whose attention must constantly be satisfied with beer, women, footy or cars and each of these elements must compete for his attention whether it s an inanimate object or a woman. The advert makes a joke about the sex industry in Asia clearly implying that Asian prostitutes are an object designed to give men immediate pleasure. The ad puts beer and prostitutes into the same category of things required to please a man. The fact that women are lower than beer in this category appeals to the stereotypical moron who thinks the most important things in life ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 20. Drunk Driving Under The Influence (DUI) Abstract The purpose of this paper is to make it clear that there needs to be stricter drunk driving laws and penalties. The impact of driving under the influence (DUI) has a significant risk to the safety of the public. Driving under the influence of alcohol or while intoxicated (DWI) is not a new dilemma, it has been around since the invention of the automobile. Driving needs a considerable amount of ability, such as alertness, concentration, clear vision, and reaction time. • 21. Their Eyes Were Watching God By Zora Neale Hurson Analysis In 1791 Thomas Paine wrote the book Rights of Man in which Paine illustrates his thoughts on the unity of the American people. Walter Russell, however, says America has always been a division of man. There has always been the conqueror and conquered the master and slave the ruler and the ruled the oppressor and the oppressed. There has never been content nor unity. There has been only discontent and disunity . While in the United States there are people similar to Thomas, who believe and strive for freedom and diversity, there are also those who Walter Russell illustrates that promote racism, violence, and disunity. I mostly disagree with Thomas Paine because, while there are times of peace; justice; and concord, there are far greater instances of oppression, privilege, and riots. Two examples of oppression in the America come from the book Their Eyes Were Watching God written by Zora Neale Hurston. Janie, a black woman living in the post civil war South, is oppressed by her husband, Logan Killicks, when he yells at her, Ah ll take holt uh dat ax and come in dere and kill yuh! You better dry up in dere! Ah m too honest and hard workin for anybody in yo family, dat s de reason you don t want me! (38). • 28. Impact Of The Enlightenment Of Witch Hunt The Enlightenment of Witch Hunt and The Change of New England Society Many people may have heard of Witch Hunt, but only a very small number of people really understand the reason behind the comical history. The 17th century New England was in change. At that time, the traditional way of dealing with things, the means of facing dissension and the laws and rules of the new era caused a dramatic tension: the confrontation between judicial system and tradition mode. In the past, people s methods of dealing with difficult things tended to appeal to supernatural powers, which led to the truth distored or buried. The emergence of the judicial system had greatly challenged this traditional method. By reading Escaping Salem we can feel the transformation process. The story of Witch Hunt in Escaping Salem is not complicated. A maid named Kate was suddenly mad out of unknown reason and says she is bewtiched. Gradually the neighbors begin to believe that Kate was indeed bewitched. At the same time, Kate begins to name three suspected witch names, two of whom are tried. The villagers of the story do not play the role of fools. There is a sharp contrast between the scholars who graduated from famous universites and the ordinary villagers. For example, John Bishop was an educated and experienced man of God: he had graduated from Oxford in 1632 (26). However, he and his friend who is a pastor, believe that Kate is bewitched without doubt. This example shows the division of society at that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Was it a war or was it a standoff between the United States and Soviet Union? The Cuban Missile Crisis was basically a missile scare. It was an engagement between the United States and the Soviet Union regarding Soviet ballistic missiles that were nuclear armed and deployed in Cuba. The Soviet Union carried the missiles from overseas by ships. This lasted 13 days and consisted of fear, fighting, and most of all, difficult decisions for both the U.S. and the Soviet Union. It was in October of 1962 that a U.S. spy plane discovered that the Soviet Union had nuclear equipped missiles placed in the country of Cuba. This was a serious threat to the United States because Cuba was just 90 miles from our shores and Cuba was a close ally of the Soviet Union. America is usually thought of as the land of equal opportunity for all , but in fact the government does not provide equal economic opportunities. Instead, the government helps big business owners exploit their immigrant employees. Furthermore, Well s argument also shows how even in a capitalist society a system such as sharecropping can exist and bring with it better class relations that benefit growers and workers. One reason for the return of sharecropping was due to labor shortages caused by the termination of the Bracero program. Growers decided to divide their farms into smaller groups which are headed by a husband and wife; they supervised a couple of workers who were family members or friends. This enhanced personal connections as personal relationships played a role in order to get a profit out of the farm allocated. By working alongside family and friends, there was a motivation to perform. Due to the personal work relations, there was no need of employers /employees. The sharecroppers did not believe they were superior to their fellow laborers. This shows that even though there is a capitalist society there was a sense of community. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Why did the Order in council PC 1003 came into effect? During the Second World War, the federal government declared the state of emergency which made the Canadian government to grant the Canadians workers the same right as the American workers. It was in 1935 when the industrial unionism spread to the Canada. In 1937, Canada suffered from the great depression. This depression brought social unrest and poverty to the working class Canadians. This made the Canadian government to ignore the hard work of their labourforce for quite long time. For example, in November 1939, the federal government introduced PC 3495, which extended the IDIA to all industries involved in war production. Thus the order in council PC 1003 came into effect which granted the legal basis for the collective bargaining in Canada. The main reason for the Canadian working class to adapt to the order in council PC 1003 was the recognition of the union. There were many large strikes that took place before the PC 1003 was adopted. One of the significant strikes was the Winnipeg general strike that the whole world remembers. The cause that led to this strike was the employers failing to recognize a union and was under no obligation to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 40. The Conservation Of The Feral Pigs INTRODUCTION This model addresses the pathways in which ecological drivers are having significant influence over the natural systems of Hawaii. Climate change is one of the most pressing issues of our time; Hawaii has not been exempt from the effects. We re witnessing a large increase in sea levels, which can lead to the erosion of the small islands and eventually displace humans. Climate change also is influencing the way we manage forests, to promote carbon sequestration we must focus on managing forests for sustainable regeneration. Forest regeneration also influences other ecosystem services like cultural, regulating, provisioning and supporting services. Specifically dealing with the presence of feral pigs we see different drivers causing the increase in population and disturbances. Cultural drivers are an issue. There is debate over control methods for the feral pigs has been gridlocked between conservation biologists/environmentalists, hunters and managers. Public hunts have been highly encouraged due to low costs, but hunters are afraid of snare traps that could hurt them and potentially kill their dogs. Conservationists want to restore native vegetation. Managers are seeking public approval and effective means of control. Overall, not enough is being done and human relations are being strained. This is reducing cultural services from the land immensely. Another driver is changing land use and development, which is highly stressing for the ecosystems. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Each of these dance videos is unique and similar with its own story behind the dance movements and settings. The video, CafГ© Mueller, performed in 1978 by Pina Bausch, was very interesting to watch but confusing to determine the actual story plot. In the beginning, a woman enters through a revolving door and hurries around a dark room of chairs. She appears to be confused, scurrying in many directions, almost like the quickness of life in a dark empty world. Ronald Hutton, the author of Charles II King of England, Scotland, and Ireland, believes that the Declaration of Indulgence was the key to keeping England unified. The fire was caused by the unusually warm weather in October, a lot of wood things made, and in poorer districts the lot sizes were small and were filled with cottages, barns, sheds, and outhouses. The story of Samson asks one important question about the main hero, is he merely a violent man driven by a thirst for adventure, or does he play a divinely inspiring role. According to the Old Testament, the story begins in the Village of Zorah, in the family of a poor shepherd named Manoah. His wife, who is unnamed in the story, has been childless for many years and yearns for a baby. One day an angel appears before the woman and proclaims that she is going to conceive a son who will liberate ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 58. Tsarist Autocracy In Russia The Tsarist regime, an often barbaric feudal system, was balancing on the eve of collapse even before the outbreak of World War One in 1914. Tsarism has a long and troubled history frequently changing its views and opinions whilst demanding full dedication from its citizens. Tsarism s woes were amplified at the dawn of the 20th century. Tsarism refused modernisation in a modern world which led to events of historical merit such as the Bloody Sunday Massacre, and the Lena Goldfields massacre. However, World War One did play a significant role in inciting revolution against the Tsarist regime. The Tsarist autocracy inflicted its brutality upon the Russian people since Ivan III (Oxley, 2001) until the death of Tsar Nicholas II, a reign spanning... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Russia was performing dismally in the Russo Japanese war which took a heavy toll on the standard of living in Russia. An immense amount of supplies and able bodied soldiers were being carted away on the now military only Trans Siberian railway, all of which took a heavy toll on the already weakened economy (Wormald, 2017). Father Gapon, a charismatic priest living in St. Petersburg, ran the Assembly of Russian Factory Workers, and found himself surrounded by many anti tsar extremists, and became an important historical figure when examining the fall of Tsarism (Simkin, 1997). A peaceful protests lead by Father Gapon marched towards the winter palace on January 9th, 1905, which was then fired upon by Cossacks, hundreds were killed. • 59. Compare And Contrast The Three Modes Of Dynamometry The three modes of dynamometry are isometric, isoinertial, and isokinetic. Dynamometry is a measurement of force/power, where strength is the ability to produce force. Direct measurements of individual muscle forces are difficult to do and therefore, during an isometric contraction (producing a force without lengthening of the muscle) is measured by pushing the limb onto a gauge and then producing maximum force of the muscle against the immovable gauge. This form of contraction is safe because there is no external force added to the muscle for it to push against/lift, and therefore, the contraction is performed, without lengthening of the muscle, with zero load. Similarly, the muscle will fatigue to failure before damage occurs to the muscle, making it a safe test. This test... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For example, squats with a resistance band mimics the sitting to standing motion with a greater mass, thereby causing you to create a greater force/power output to stand up. Isoinertial testing is used in sports that involve acceleration and deceleration of a constant mass around the joints, such as resistance training/weight lifting. Weight lifting involves the acceleration and deceleration of a constant mass and is safe because if the weight is to heavy, the body will strain to lift it and be unable to accomplish it. Similarly, if the weight is too light then the body will easily be able to lift it. Since weight lifting is done in incremental stages by adding small weights to their already accomplished weights, the lifter is mostly safe in this way. This form is testing is also practical for a sport such as tennis because lifting the weights on a pulley through the racket motion can determine how forceful your swing is and train those muscles to be more forceful. Isoinertial testing is a reliable and valid form of testing because the body can only lift and pull so much weight through a motion before it can no longer lift ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 60. The Republican Party Platform Of 1860 As the Republican Party Platform of 1860 came into existence, there were situations that occurred in the United States that were inevitable. The civil war was inevitable, just as the many other occurrences that happened and were yet to happen. Without the Republicans arising in that time and creating a platform to abide by, life in the United States would have erupted. The platform was created to secure the union and to stop succession by the south and to abolish slavery. Another issue the Republicans brought forward to society to view was that majority of what the Constitution stated, was being neglected or against in the times before 1860. They further developed a principle that will forever, permanently, cease into existence, which will demand its peace and achievement in the United States. The act of disunion predominantly went unnoticed to the Republican Party. By the act of sectional divisions in the Constitutional Union Party, it presented in significance of denying a free government. Amongst the other parties, Democratic members advocated threats of disunion. However, the Republicans did not evidently join in these threats of disunion and feel that they should be applauded for this because the threats were vital to the central government that was yet to exist. Through this occurrence, the Republicans did not want to separate because they believed that the denial of a free government was a part of treason. They wanted the United ... • 61. Common Good Argument Galston (2013) claims that idea of the common good has real content in theory and real utility in practice , throughout his essay on the common good, he provides sufficient evidence to back his main claim and he uses it to refute the arguments of others. He defines three key aspects of the common good to support his claim of the common good having real content in theory , these include: Inherently social goods, Social linkages and The good of the commons. Galston (2013) then proceeds to give evidence on the concept of bargaining and the U.S. Constitution; he uses these examples to support his claim that the common good has real utility in practice . One example he gives based on inherently social goods is humor, telling a joke to oneself is virtually impossible, because humor requires surprise , as a result, this allows us to make the inference that there are certain aspects of life that require the company of others and without it, the good (humor in this case) would be lost. Galston (2013) states that The good of the commons is when how people behave in shared social spaces impacts others (p.11). If we carelessly leave an unextinguished fire in a camp ground, the entire facility may go up in flames. (p.11), this shows how the common good includes everyone s best interests and this example in fact shows that it does have real content in theory as it is quite easy to imagine the scenarios he has presented, occurring in real ... • 62. Music Appreciation Period In The Renaissance Period Music Appreciation class introduced me to the great masterpieces along with the talented artists from the medieval period to present. It helped me understand more and appreciate art from different periods more than a thousand years back. It refreshed me of the music terminologies and added some more. We re able to recognize and identify musical instruments of various kinds of music. We gained a better comprehension of a music s texture, melody, key, rhythm, style, or form. Some music masterpieces in the past generations live up to the present time and continues to evolve. The medieval period (476 1400) or the middle ages lasted about a thousand years. Medieval music consists of liturgical music, songs, and instrumental pieces. The Gregorian chant was mainly for sacred music. As the musical art progresses, plainchants transitioned into organum the earliest polyphonic texture, but added an independent line of music to the chant. The Notre Dame School of Polyphony had two generations of composition within this school: The Ars Antigua (Old Art) and the Ars Nova (New Art). Guillaume de Machaut set ordinary mass in its entirety. He beautifully constructs and represents the most advanced compositional techniques of his time: includes four voices with more ornamentation contrary motion compares to the earlier three voice works. The rise of humanism marks the Renaissance period. The Franco Flemish School writes music in four voices. The composers of this era use a secular tune as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Some believe this has benefits, while others are screaming about invasion of privacy. Heated debates can go on for many hours about this topic. The Freedom of Information Act which was established in 1966 states that all people shall have access to federal records. This allows the public to be kept abreast of the workings in the government. Does the public s right to know out weigh one s personal privacy? The personal computer does make privacy difficult. Databases have been created simply to hold ones personal information, and many times these databases can be accessed by any computer geek. One such database is the National Crime Information Center (NCIC), created by Herbert Hoover. This database holds information on every American person ever arrested in the United States. How could this information not be beneficial? Many times the information is neither accurate nor complete. What could happen if the wrong hands accessed these files, such as a possible employer? The computer has made this threat a reality. Ever wonder where junk mail comes from? Currently, there is a database of the names, addresses, and marketing information on 120 million residents of the United States . This information may not seem very personal.
