Nursing Pathophysiology
The Pathophysiology Behind the Nursing Priorities The first nursing diagnosis to address with the
client is the chronic pain related to his posterior back as evident by his level of pain over the course of
several months. The client has been complaining of pain upon initial assessment on 10/17/17.
According to the client s MAR he was diagnosed with nonspecific pain and was prescribed
hydrocodone acetaminophen PRN to help alleviate pain. In order to avoid under treating the client s
pain, the goal of the nursing interventions is to improve his quality of life by managing and treating
his pain more effectively. Vital signs collected on 11/29/17 revealed that he had a pain level of 7 on a

Nocturia is when an individual has to frequently urinate in the middle of the night (Hall, Perry, Potter,
Stockert, 2017, p. 995). The client has reported waking up between two to three times in the night to
use the restroom. These frequent trips to the bathroom disrupts the clients sleep cycle and makes it
difficult to fall back asleep at night. According the patient s MAR, he has Benign prostatic hyperplasia
(BPH), an overactive bladder and chronic kidney disease. He is being treated with the medications
finasteride, tamsulosin and oxybutynin. Finasteride and tamsulosin are used to treat BPH. The
medication tamsulosin is also indicated for nocturia and acts by decreasing the contraction of smooth
muscle in the prostatic capsule (Deglin, Sanoski, Vallerand, p.1164). The patient takes oxybutynin in
the morning and night to treat his overactive bladder. Oxybutynin can also help treat nocturia and
works by inhibiting the action of acetylcholine at the postganglionic receptors (Deglin, Sanoski,
Vallerand, 2017, p.944). One of the interventions to help improve the clients sleeping pattern is to
speak to his physician about possibly increasing the dose of these medications or changing
medications to something that is more effective. The goal is to decrease the number of trips to the
bathroom the client has to

Bessie And Alzheimer s Dilemmas
According to Green (2007) biopsychosocial and spiritual assessment alone will not provide a complete
picture of competence forcing the practitioner to consider appraisal as a part of the assessment. Fanny
s lower levels of functioning begins with appraisal as she perceived the demand of surrendering her
driving privileges as a threat to her independence. In other words, she examined the severity of the
situation deeming it as serious making her feel vulnerable as she mentioned if she could no longer
drive, she will feel inadequate. Comparatively, Bessie was able to go with the flow although she
understood there is no cure available for her condition, she remained positive. Next we must look at
Fanny s lower level of biological functioning from a perspective of her mental health status, unlike
Bessie, she has Alzheimer s disease with increased symptoms. ... Show more content on

Fanny failed miserably as she demonstrated signs of agnosia. Ironically, she rated her driving above
average which was delusional. Her social functioning would be at a lower level not having the ability
to interact with her community and others without planning and organizing. Bessie was able to freely
engage as her transportation was not compromised having complete control to go and come as she
pleased. Her spiritual well being and routine to connect with her faith attending church service would
now consist of having someone to come and pick her up, again removing her ability to go wherever,
and whenever she please. Fanny expressed this new way of living as terrible and disappointing, her

The Magnetic Field Of A Permanent Magnet
Assignment.
Task 3.1
a) The magnetic field of a permanent magnet causes the atoms to move around uniformly in the same
direction. This may vary depending on the electrons of the atoms causing a variety of atoms to be able
to do this and few which can hold a permanent magnetic field. It is an invisible field and it is also
called a vector because of the forces specified direction and magnitude. The arrow displays the
direction of the force and also how the forces are. The closer the lines are together it shows how much
stronger it is also the further away they are it shows how much weaker they are.

If the magnet is withdrawn, the direction of the current is reversed. Such currents are called induced
currents. The current flows in the conductor as a result of an electromotive force that is induced the so
called induced EMF
The effect of conductor moving through a magnetic field is that it would cause a electromagnetic field
which is used in transformers to change current and voltage.
Mutual inductance is the magnetic field generated by a coil of wire which induces a voltage in the
other coil of wire. A transformer is an object constructed of multiple numbers of coils in close
proximity to each other, with the express purpose of creating a condition of mutual inductance
between the coils.
Transformers Having a different number of coils between two coils of wire can cause a decreas of
voltage of AC currents in applications. Transformers are based on Faraday s Law of electromagnetic
induction and mutual induction; the transformer has the first wire coil that emits a magnetic flux that
has a EMF in a secondary wire coil with aid of a high magnetic permeable core.

Honda effectively uses pathos to persuade the audience to buy their car. The ad uses visual imagery to
show the audience that the inner beauty of objects and people are often more interesting and important

based off of their emotions. The Honda ad attempts to affect their audience emotions to get them to

Incorporating inner beauty is emotionally effective because it s something most people can relate to. It
s not about what s on the outside; it s the inside that counts is a common quote we use in life, and most
people try to apply that quote to different circumstances. People try to see inner beauty in objects, but
most importantly, people try to see inner beauty in other people. Making a commercial about a car that
deals with inner beauty automatically makes people compare the car with a person, and how they
would see inner beauty in a person. The main objective of the ad is to get the audience to give
humanity to their product which causes them to have an emotional connection to a car. It was
important for Honda to emphasize he inside of the car because most people buy cars because how it

What Are Gender Roles In Alice Munro s Axis
Alice Munro is an eminent Canadian essayist who has devoted her life to generating fiction, short
stories that deal with recurrent events among today s society. She is best known for being awarded a
Nobel Prize in Literature, the most prestigious award for a writer, in 2013. One of her popular short
stories titled, Axis, centers around the lives of two close, intelligent, University friends and the
progression of their lives. Although it seemed that both girls had a lot of good going for them, it
appears that the main goal for attending the university was to find man whom they could marry and
provide for them. Avie resorts to marriage with Hugo, a man whom she had yet to find love for, and

member of the family during a particular day and it clearly distinguishes the roles of the men from the
women. The role of Grace and her boyfriend one of the days was to make strawberry jam, but soon
after they changed. On the day that Grace and Royce had planned to have sex, the mother had to take
the children to a doctor s appointment, the father and brother, were going to work one of the the other
lands that they had across the highway and Royce was in charge of slightly remodeling the tall brick
house (Munro 10). The men were in charge of all the physical labor while the mother was in charge of
running errands with the children. In fact, the story also states that the father and brother relied on the
women who rented out the property to give them water. This exemplifies, the social norms the are
placed among both men and women. Within societies perspective, men are the breadwinners and the
ones in charge of handling any tough physical labor. On the other hand, the role of a woman generally
speaking is that of a housewife or a caregiver, sometimes being a schoolteacher. This is why mothers
are viewed as compassionate, understanding and loving. Fathers are supposed to be tough

Argumentative Essay On Digital Music
Digital Harm
Steve Jobs is personally responsible for killing the music business. ~ Jon Bon Jovi (Arias 124). Jon
Bon Jovi, the famous 80s pop rocker, made his claim during the time after the creation of the internet,
when which the music industry had begun to decline. Given his role as a musician, he witnessed
firsthand how the internet hurt the music industry. Although the benefits of the internet may seem
abundant, digital music is not flawless. Despite being viewed by some as a positive addition to music,
the current state of digital music limits the music industry s ability to invest in new artists to keep the
music industry alive.
Due to the increasing popularity of online file sharing, record labels lose money whether they protect
their music or not. The book 2000s Music, written by author David Larkins and musician Greg
Wilson, states., after Napster was sued, illegal file sharing grew even more popular as opposed to less
(Larkins 1). The popularity of free digital music harms musicians for obvious reasons, a loss of
revenue. Since the internet cannot control illegal downloads, the pay musicians receive is negatively
affected. J.J. Arias, a Georgian University Professor of Economics stated in his academic journal, the
enforcement of copyright laws in the digital realm proves to be a costly venture (Arias 124). Illegal
file sharing networks are mostly ignored since it often costs more to find and remove file sharing than
it is to ignore it. Because of this,

Persuasive Essay On Snow Leopards
Endangered species is a quandary to an ecosystem in an environment. The snow leopard is an animal
that has been endangered since 1972. They are endangered for the most common reasons such as
being hunted for fur but also for more effective reasons for the peopleof the snow leopard s habitat,
central Asia. The snow leopard is at an advantage of being at thetop of the food chain, but their food
source is beginning to take a toll as that is being hunted as well. Regardless of endangering factors to
the snow leopard, any contingencies have to becontemplated to save what s left of the population. The
snow leopard is a panthera uncia whose conservation status is endangered. Therationale for this
predicament is that it is quite conventional for hunters in central Asia to hunt these animals for their
fur. Hunting for fur is the most frequent vindication for a species to go endangered; however, now
leopards have another reason to be hunted and that is for their organs, bones, and skin. These
circumstances are more advantageous for Asian medicines.Hunting is not only a concern for the snow
leopard but also to livestock such as sheep and goats. However, these hunts are a key component to
snow leopards because these animals are what snow leopards prey on. With a viable food source being
withdrawn from a habitat, the snow leopards are found to be desperate for a food source. Snow
leopards are in an onerous condition if the hunts continue and their food source is being extracted. The
endangerment of the snow leopard not only lies on the foundation of excessive hunts and food
removal but also in the uncontrollable ecosystem transformations. Snow leopards are found in the
mountainous terrain of central Asia. Normally they live 3,000 and 5,400 meters aloft sea level.
However, if the latitude is lower, for say 1,000 meters above sea level then climates are instituted to be
cold and dry letting a limited amount of vegetation, grass or shrubs, to grow, which only grow in
vertiginous inclinations of the mountains. Snow leopards will habitually appoint subdued terrains,
escarpments, or ravines. This ecosystem may be at a lost, though, as global climate changes an

Fremstad values, communicates, and implements. A large majority of her staff has been trained in
Improving Academic Literacy: Effective Classroom and Intervention Practices by Kevin Feldman.
This training builds teacher capacity in engagement, reading and writing literacies, and content
vocabulary. Dr. Fremstad has advanced fidelity of implementation by organizing periodic learning
walks (peer observations) for all educators at West Fargo High. These peer observations afford
actionable feedback to support continuous growth. She also recognized the importance of a systems
approach to impact student learning and has committed to implement AVID (Advancement via
Individual Determination) school wide. This program guides effective classroom instruction through
engagement, reading and writing, and organization with an overarching goal of preparing our students
for post secondary and future 21st Century careers.
Dr. Fremstad has been instrumental in the implementation of Professional Learning Communities
(PLCs) at West Fargo High School. She understands the power of teacher collaboration and has led the
charge to train and monitor the program with fidelity. Jennifer has inspired educators to share student
evidence of learning and extend intervention or enrichment learning opportunities based on the data.
In addition, she advocates on the importance of frequent classroom visitations with her leadership
team and establishes annual visitation goals to support teachers and

Treating Pain In Patients With A History Of Substance...
Building Trust with the Audience When it comes to creating a solid argument on something highly
controversial it has to appear professional, well written, and informed. The article Treating Pain In
Patients With a History Of Substance Addiction: Case Studies And Review by Megan and Andrew
Harding does just this despite a few minor flaws. Without reading the article the audience can deduce
a clear sense of seriousness and professionalism. Now some may question how on earth can this be
deduced without reading it. But it s because of the simple consistent format. Each section has a bolded
subtitle that bluntly says what this section is about. Beneath this subtitle is a horizontal line and then
the section begins. The title at the top of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Though the patients and parents are not the target audience and compromising to this demographic
may lose some of the intended audience. So in the end the Hardings probably made the right choice.
They also chose to write the article in a passive voice so words such as I, you, or we but rather he, she,
or their were not included. Which is true to how nurses have to document helping build the trust of the
intended audience. The sentences are fairly long with about 20 words per sentence. Using the Flesch
Kincaid Reading Age equation I can deduce the reading level is a collegian level. This is appropriate
because again this is intended for nurses who have to complete at least an associate s degree. Looking
at the reading level I m surprised I was able to read it fairly painlessly though every once and while it
was difficult due to passive voice. The article isn t completely made of their own information. It was
well researched using various references. The article very rarely directly quotes its sources it normally
paraphrases the information then adds a superscript with the number corresponding to the citation. The
article didn t use APA or MLA formatting instead it uses CMS which is odd for a nursing article. CMS
is normally used in history and fields of humanities so it sort of makes sense though nursing normally
falls under science leaning more articles to be APA. The journal this article was published in

Emily Dickinson
Emily Dickinson Emily Dickinson is one of America s greatest poets, her work was original and
unique, and the speakers in her poem would often express what limitations they saw in their society
and how they wish they could escape it. Although Dickinson became a famous poet, she didn t want
her work published, during her lifetime other people would have some of her poems published. The
poems that were published were considered to be eccentric and were altered significantly by
publishers. Dickinson often wrote about the idea of being famous and how much she would dread it if
she ever did become famous because she felt that it wouldn t allow her to stay true to herself. Upon
her death thousands of poems were discovered by her family and were eventually published, these
poems are what cemented her legacy as one of the greatest poets to ever live. Emily Dickinson was
born in 1830 to a prominent family, her father was a well respected lawyer. Dickinson was well
educated, she had attended school from a very young age and also attended Amherst Academy, her
father wanted his children to be well educated and he reminded them to pay attention in school and
learn as much as possible. At age 15 Dickinson left the academy and began to attend Mount Holyoke
Female Seminary but after a year she left and went back home, nobody knows why she left but some
believe this was the beginning of her reclusiveness. From an early age Dickinson began to write and
some of her influences included her principal and a friend who was an attorney that worked with her
father. In addition, one day during a trip to Philadelphia she befriended a minister who also became a
great influence, she would correspond with him, often writing letter just like she would with everyone
else. Dickinson also experienced many deaths of friends that affected her profoundly and it caused her
to become depressed, sometimes expressing it in her writings. In addition, she would often express
herself in statements to others not being able to understand why those close to her were constantly
dying, she also expressed her depression, and she even wondered if she should die too, it is believe
that these tragedies are also the reason for her reclusiveness. Emily Dickinson

from primary to high school I learned the language from my teachers. When I graduated, I observed
that I have a lack of understanding English. I realized that I have no ability to understand the news,

problem is because in our government schools here in Kuwait do not offer enough educate. To be

not teach essential vocabularies that we need in our education. Of course that can cause a problem for

The Destruction Of The Environment In The Gilded Age
American seemed to think nothing of remarking nature for the sake of progress , Alexis de
Tocqueville, a French diplomat commented when he was visiting the United States in 1831. While the
American people were overwhelmed by pride and pleasure from their achievement in making
industrial and economic progress, the environment was harmed in an alarming speed. Landscape was
transformed, and forests were destroyed due to industrialization. By 1990, only a fraction of the
United States Virgin forests were still standing. Farmers cleared trees to plant crops, and loggers cut
down large areas of woodland for business profits. More than that, the most horrific thing was the
government was willing to encourage loggers to exploit the forests resources by selling them large
plots of land in the North West. In other words, the government was inviting loggers to destroy the
landscape. Besides the loss of forests, the increasing number of ranching boosted the erosion of

The Importance Of Pearl In The Puritan Society
For about as long as organized religion has existed, faith has been passed down from parent to child.
The children are willed by their parents to follow a set religion and adhere completely to its values,
beliefs and rules. The Puritan time in America was no different. In fact it was likely the era in which
religion and adherence to it was taken the most seriously. The Puritans worship of religion was a
dictating factor when it came to laws, customs, and societal actions. In the novel The Scarlet Letter by
Nathaniel Hawthorne, the portrayal and treatment of Hester s daughter, Pearl, in the Puritan society
develops the theme that religion is an oppressive system of beliefs that dictates the actions and
thoughts of its followers.
Ever since her birth, Pearl s behavior has been a bit off relative to the normal Puritan standard. A
typical Puritan child would not play as a present day child would. They would mature quickly to help
with various chores and other duties that had to be done. Pearl, however, was different. She was
described on multiple occasions as being wild as she truly explored her freedom, and let her
imagination work freely. This is prevalent where Hawthorne writes about Pearl that, At home, within
and around her mother s cottage, Pearl wanted not a wide and various circle of acquaintance. The spell
of life went forth from her ever creative spirit, and communicated itself to a thousand objects, as a
torch kindles a flame wherever it may be applied.

Importance Of The Fifth Amendment
The fifth Amendment Everyday, people wait in a courtroom for a verdict by the grand jury. Once the
jury determines the verdict, the person being tried is not allowed to be tried again without new
evidence. The concept above, is used and enforced in the courts through the fifth amendment. The
fifth amendment is an important amendment because it ensures due process of law, free from self
incrimination, free from double jeopardy, indicted by a grand jury, and the government has the right of
eminent domain (Froseth). The fifth amendment has many parts to it. Each part helps society function.
One case that made the fifth amendment important was Miranda Vs. Arizona. In Miranda Vs. Arizona,
a man named Ernesto Miranda was arrested and brought to jail. While in jail, Miranda was forced to
speak against himself. During this time, Miranda was not read his rights making him believe that the
his fifth amendment right was violated. Miranda brought his case to the supreme court where it ruled
in his favor. The court decided that the fifth amendment of self incrimination was violated and that
police officers are required to tell suspects that they have certain rights while being questioned and
arrested. (Miranda). This case changed American history. Every police officer now needs to tell
everyone in custody you have the right to remain silent, anything you say can and will be used against
you in the court of law... (Miranda Rights). Because Miranda brought this case to the courts,

Gonzales Vs Carhart Summary
Gonzales v. Carhart was a supreme court case that was arguing on whether there should be partial
birth abortion. I do not agree with abortion anyway, let alone partial birth. The two main people
involved in the case, were Alberto R. Gonzales and Leroy Carhart. Gonzales was the petitioner who
brought the case to the court and Carhart was the respondent. Gonzales wanted to overturn the Partial
Birth Abortion Act, which was basically an act saying partial birth abortion is not allowed. Gonzales
proposed a ruling of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit in favor of LeRoy
Carhart that was attempting to tackle the Partial Birth Abortion Ban Act. On the other side was
Carhart, who was against partial birth abortion and wanted the act to stand. Carharts perspective in my
opinion is the right one. I do understand that there are, some cases that abortion might be necessary
and that might protect someone s own health. If it is protecting the mother s health and it is the last
choice the mother has then I will support her decision. But for the most part it is just teen getting
pregnant from unprotected sex then not being able to care for the child. In the USA alone there are 2
million couples waiting to adopt. In 2011 1.06 million abortions took place. In just two years we could

Comedy And Social Ideas Of Norman Lear
Norman Lear was picked as a nominee for the prestigious Kennedy Center Award. Instead of
accepting the award, Lear decided to boycott the Kennedy Center ceremony in December at the White
House to protest Donald Trump presidency. Norman Lear has embodied the role as an agent of change
because throughout his life, he has been breaking societal norms and discussing issues in society that
people are afraid to talk about. Specifically, in 1971, a groundbreaking American television sitcom
broke through societal boundaries and transformed the way that the American audience viewed
television. Engulfed by the Vietnam War, Civil Rights Movement of the 1950s and 1960s, fight for
women s right, and the Watergate scandal, Norman Lear persevered through stereotypes and
entertainment norms with his show All in the Family. This show approached its audience in a very
blunt and crude manner; it made conflict the center of its comedy. It dealt with contemporary cultural
issues in a relatable way, which allowed blue collar workers to learn about their current everyday
issues and concerns. Therefore, from declining his Kennedy Center Award because of his dislike for
the President to breaking the taboos of television in the 1970s, Norman Lear has remained a visible
changemaker in our society.
Lear fused comedy and serious social issues together. All in the Family became the center of national
debate between comedy and social issues. Norman Lear helped to introduce social realism, a
movement that

My Outlook On Student Assessment
One aspect of teaching that I find particularly challenging in my career is student assessment. It is a
gray area that is constantly being analyzed and transformed by myself, colleagues, administrators and
the educational community as a whole. As Huhn states, assessment means being keenly aware of what
students know and understand, having sufficient evidence of this understanding, and offering a grade
that accurately reflects this. As a Kindergarten teacher my outlook on student assessment varies
greatly from many other grade level teachers. I view student assessment as an ongoing journey, not a
final destination. I feel fortunate that I am not forced to assign points and letter grades to quantify
student achievement. As a district ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Validity and reliability are cornerstones to this type of classroom. It is critical for teachers to ensure
student assessments used in the classroom possess these qualities. Valid assessments require accurate
feedback and exactness of the teacher s inferences about a student s ability. Reliable assessments must
be both repeatable and dependable. On the assessment continuum there are three types of assessment
that can be delivered to students. Each of these categories of assessments serves a different purpose.
Diagnostic assessments are given before learning occurs. This type of assessment is used to identify
where the students are at in learning right now, as well as any misconceptions they may have.
Diagnostic assessments are critical to gathering student information to help teachers plan content to be
taught, as well as to differentiate their instruction. Examples of diagnostic assessments would be prior
knowledge and skill checks and learning preference surveys. Formative assessments are used while
learning is taking place. The aim of this type of assessment is to improve student learning, not just
measure it. These assessments can be both formal and informal, and may include quizzes, oral
questioning, teacher observations, and think alouds. Although these assessments are used to evaluate
students learning and progress, they should not be factored into a student s grade. Formative
assessments should be used by teachers to guide instruction to

Archetypal Themes In Romeo And Juliet
Stories throughout history have used archetypal themes. These themes usually follow certain
elements. Sometimes, stories with certain themes alter elements in their own way. This is the case for
Ovid s short story Pyramus and Thisbe and Shakespeare s tragic drama The Tragedy of Romeo and
Juliet. Both of these stories share the archetypal theme of ill fated love, but use and transform certain
elements. Forbidden marriage( an element of ill fated love) has been altered in Tragedy of Romeo and
Juliet. In Pyramus and Thisbe, Ovid wrote, ...in houses so close together that one wall was common to
both. Growing up thus side by side they learned to love each other. They longed to marry, but their
parents forbade. (Ovid) . This quote talks about how Pyramus and Thisbe grew up as neighbor and a
love began to blossom between them, but their parents forbidden to marry. On the other hand, in The
Tragedy Of Romeo and Juliet, this element is altered. Romeo and Juliet weren t directly forbidden to
marry, but their families were enemies. This is told in the prologue of act 1 (Two households, both

Ertte Brockovich Character Analysis
Erin Pattee Brockovich:
Erin, a single mother at 33, is the protagonist in the film. She is shown struggling to find work to
support her three children who become the driving force for her decisions for a large part of the story.
Initially, Erin displays an attitude that would put her at Stage 1 and Stage 3 of Kohlberg s model of
moral development. In the first scene she is desperately trying to land a job as a doctor s assistant and
narrates a variety of interests that she possess, which were quite varying, and continually stresses upon
the fact she is a single mother , with a family of three to provide for.
In the later sequence of the story we find Erin working for a law firm, Masry Vititoe, where she

motorbikes to look after her children. However when he does not receive due appreciation from Erin

shows that George was at Stage 2 of Kohlberg s moral development model. He was taking care of Erin

Later in the story we see George coming back to Erin when he notices her efforts bringing in results.

technology is being looked at because it could give a competitive advantage to USEC against its
competitors. ACP will lower the production costs and improve USEC s technology position in the
market. If the company takes on the ACP project, USEC will reach 6.5 million units in production by
2013. A minimal level of maintenance would be required due to the improved technology and better
facilities. ACP would also double the size of USEC as a whole. Cash Flow Calculations We are

Inflation is assumed to be 3% * Flotation costs are ignored for cost of equity. * We assume a risk free

* 50% reduction in enrichment cost start from year 2011 (for ACP project). Without the 50%
reduction, the enrichment cost in 2011 would have been $50.15. We are going to start at
50.15/2=$25.07 (50%) from year 2011 as enrichment cost and from there it will again increase at the
rate of inflation which is 3%. In 2011, the total capacity will be 3.5M (2.5M from ACP and 1M from

Types Of Multiple Organ Dysfunction Syndrome
Introduction
Multiple Organ Dysfunction Syndrome, also known as MODS, can occur after any severe injury or
disease process that activates a large systemic inflammatory response which includes any kind of
shock (Sole, 2013, 283). Like with any kind of dysfunction, organ dysfunction can lead to further
organ failure and ultimately death (Sole, 2013, 283). The most common causes of MODS includes
severe sepsis and septic shock, which represents the highest cause of mortality in these conditions
(Semeraro, 2011, 293). The body s immune system along with the body s response to stress can be a
precipitating factor to maldistribution of circulating volume, global tissue hypoxia, and metabolic
alterations which results in damage to the organs (Sole, 2013, 283). According to Ignatavicius (2013),
once the damage has begun, a vicious cycle follow resulting in further cellular and organ damage. The
first organs to lose their function include the liver, heart, brain, and kidneys, with the most devastating
change being the damage to the heart muscle (Ignatavicius, 2013, 814). Multitudes of research has
been done to further explain the cause and possible treatments for this deadly syndrome.
Pathophysiology
MODS can classified as either primary or secondary. According to Sole (2013), Primary MODS is a
result of an injury to a specific organ which can occur in shock, trauma, burns, or infection that causes
an impairment in the perfusion of blood that can either be localized or systemic,

Judaism Compare And Contrast
The topic I choose to write about is Judaism. Like other religions, there are differences in the religion.
I decided to compare and contrast the different types of Judaism. Writers compare and contract in
order to understand their similarities and differences ( Vandermey 2012 pg. 182 ). Judaism is a
monotheistic religion. Judaism is 3,500 years old, is the oldest of the monotheistic religions. The first
attestation of the word Judaism occurs in 2 Maccabees, a Greek abridgment of a history of the
Maccabean revolt that was written ca. 124 BCE References Satlow, M. L. (2006). Monotheism is the
worship of a single powerful God. The prefix of mono means one. Monotheism usually tends to affirm

If you really dissect each religion you will find that they have more in common than differences. They
all promote love for God and mankind. The Jewish tradition stems from Abraham s covenant with
God. Jews believe that God made a covenant with Abraham that he would be the father of a great
people if he followed God s instructions. The covenant was the promise God made with Abraham that
his people would be sacred and give them a holy land. Judaism is a tradition grounded in the religious,
ethical, and social laws as they are articulated in the Torah which is the Jewish holy book. There are
several different sects in the Jewish religion such as Reformed, Conservative, and Orthodox Jews. The
main difference between the belief systems is the approach to Torah and the implications of that
approach. It is how a Jewish community interact with Torah that defines them as Conservative Jews (

Power In One Flew Over The Cuckoo s N
Additionally, Foucault suggests that the Panopticon can be controlled by anyone, because the power
does not lie in lies in not knowing who is in control, but how authority is able to psychologically
control people, which is not illuminated in Kesey s novel, since Nurse Ratched makes all of the
decisions in the ward herself. Foucault states that it doesn t matter who exercises power. Any
individual, taken almost at random, can operate this machine (321), meaning that one who operates
this machine will not abuse the power he is given. In contrast, Nurse Ratched is the head nurse on the

Argumentative Essay On Mammoth Evolution
Throughout time, there has been an untraceable amount of genetic mutations within different
organisms that has promoted evolution. These mutations may have represent very dramatic physical
differences in appearance, while others may be very subtle. In effect, the study of evolution has
intrigued many scientists, paleontologists, and evolutionary biologists to discover why and how
organisms evolve, and what ancestors are linked to a specific organism. In effect, the study of
mammoth evolution has been a very popular subject in recent years. Due to their rapid changes,
scientists and paleontologists alike have been very keen to learn the truth behind differences in
mammoths and how they ultimately evolved. This lead to many different tests being performed
throughout the years to conclusively discover how several particular classes of mammoths actually
evolved and what drove the changes within. The arguments of mammoth evolution discussed in this
paper are not completely factual, for there is not enough evidence behind studies to confirm these tests
and experiments as completely factual; rather everything that will be discussed will be based on
scientific theory. Due to this, do not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Positive Aspects Of Happiness
Happiness could be described as the perception that the positive aspects of life outweigh the negative.
With this definition, people could often attain ephemeral moments of happiness. When, for example, a
man discovers that his favorite baseball team has won the championship, a woman is complimented
on her dress, or a child discovers that school has been cancelled for the day, they feel happiness
because at that moment some occurrence has caused them to feel that the good in the world exceeds
the bad. Long term, sustainable happiness, however, is more elusive. Given time to ponder the ratio of
positive to negative in their lives and the world, many people find that happiness is not so easily
achievable. The man soon remembers that he has to work a twelve hour day in a factory; the woman
returns home to an abusive husband; the child is bullied at school. Whenever possible, people
compensate for these adversities with beneficial experiences and insights, so they can achieve
happiness most often. Therefore, they tend to ignore the suffering and atrocities in the world that they
perceive as not directly affecting themselves. They choose a happiness that is easily obtained and
immediate, yet short term and individual rather than one that is more difficult and time consuming, yet
enduring and widespread. Both the collective happiness of society and a person s individual happiness
are hindered in the long term by selfish attitudes and conformity to unchallenged traditions, which

Breathless Final Scene Essay
Breathless/À bout de soufflé scene analysis The final scene of Jean Luc Goddard s Breathless (1960)
is one of the most memorable scenes of the film. Not only does it portray the conventions of new
wave cinema but it also depicts the existentialist themes that are presented throughout. New wave
cinema was typically low budget and this is presented in the climactic scene of Breathless. The scene
was shot on location and included a lot of jump cuts and disjointed editing. However, despite
appearing to be unprofessional and unpolished, Breathless evokes a sense of harsh realism that is
present in contemporary relationships. The final scene also symbolises the end of Michel (Jean Paul
Delmondo) and Patricia s (Jean Seberg) ill fated partnership and signifies the end of their attempt to
find happiness and love within one another. The final scene acts as the climax of Breathless whilst ...

The majority of Breathless was filmed in Patricia s apartment room or in Paris, reflecting the low
budget of new wave cinema and also the new array of options for film aesthetics (Richard Neupert:
2007). It is evident in the final scene that the location in which they were shooting was not cleared for
filming. As Michel is running down the street, members of the public are shown walking past and
looking at the protagonists, almost acting as extras. The street which Michel runs down is completely
clear apart from the cars parked either side of him, the mise en scène of this scene emits a sense of
entrapment for Michel. As well as the placement of the cars on either side of him, there are also
buildings which further add to the feeling that he cannot escape, it as if everything is closing in on
Michel leaving him trapped. Additionally, the street in which he is running down appears as it will
never end, again portraying how he can no longer run away or hide from his

The Benefits Of Live Kidney Transplants
During my first clinical rotation I was assigned a patient who, down to his last kidney, was living with
end stage renal disease. I noticed quickly that this man, one of ethnical minority, relied on his family
members to give him information and advice pertaining to his treatment, as he himself seemed
ignorant to his own medical problems. I found his case fascinating, as he not only had one kidney, but
he was also suffering many other debilitating medical crisis , all brought on by his failing renal
system. I distinctly remember wondering why transplantation was not being discussed, or if it was
even an option for him. My interest led me to discovering a disproportionate disparity among those
who receive live donor kidney transplants, referred to as LDKT, in the United States.
It is first important to understand that live kidney transplants have many benefits when compared to
deceased donor transplants. Among these benefits include prolonged survival rates of up to 18 years.
Also, living donor kidneys begin functioning almost immediately after surgery, and, lastly, there is the
added benefit of bypassing a waiting list, limiting time spent, if any, on dialysis (Mysel, 2016).
Interestingly, the majority of recipients of LDKT transplants in the United States are white. In
juxtaposition, renal disease is actually more prominent in minorities such as African Americans and
Hispanics. End Stage Renal Disease has an incidence rate three times higher in African Americans
than

Sagging Pants Is Deviant Behavior Essay
A deviant behavior is a label attached to a person s activity that is conducted in a manner outside the
normalized zone of conformity within a society. There is the perception of how people view or
understand certain demeanors. Next, a behavior may be considered illegal in the eyes of the law and it
may also be viewed as immoral, unethical or inappropriate in the eyes of the people. Moreover,
deviant behavior is conceptualized in the eyes of the public even when an act is not illegal.
Although this may be true, there is still the circle of cultural beliefs and upbringings among certain
groups of people that may not actually consider an act deviant or illegal. People in a community have
attachments to their own family, peers and social ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
On the other hand, wearing saggy pants is a matter of free will and of choice. It is part of a person s
identity. Why would wearing pants that show underwear be considered deviant? Feldman(1984)
indicates, norms are enforced to show people what type of behaviors are accepted within a members
of society. Furthermore, this raises the point in asking the question, why there are no rules against
women wearing revealing tops? In my opinion, I think it s just a matter of choice and how members of
a society view such acts which are not criminalistic.
I believe that sagging may be more predominant in lower classes such as college freshmen because
they are just getting out of high school and may still be more involved in the trendy urban fashion
statements. Next, in regards to sagging being used by upper level classmen such as seniors, I think that
they would tend to use less of sagging pants because of their age and maturity level.
In the same fashion, I believe school dropouts would tend to sag more than medical doctors because of
the difference in professionalism. In my opinion, doctors are professionals and are not trying to look
cool or make a fashion statement. In addition, I believe that some dropouts would have a lesser sense
of ethical and acceptable morals. But, at the same time, I still find wearing specific styles of clothing
is a matter of choice.
I think that the answer to this question may take on

Hungarian Peasant and Folk Music Essay
Hungarian Peasant and Folk Music
I. General confusion about Hungarian folk music.
Gypsy music Peasant music the real Hungarian folk music is not Gypsy music. Peasant music
certainly had influence on the songs and playing of gypsies who lived in Hungary and performed in
ensembles, though. Gypsy music used to be the basis of all generalizations about Hungarian music. It
was Ferenc Liszt s monumental error to state that Gypsy music is the creation of gypsies. The so
called gypsy scale points to a southern oriental (Arabic) origin and may possibly have reached
Hungary through the gypsies. This music falsifies Hungarian folk songs by introducing augmented
intervals of the Gypsy scales, which scales were never used by peasants. ... Show more content on

The first widely known Hungarian dances are composed by known composers and harmonized after
the Viennese style. It is a mystery why they were labeled as Hungarian folk melodies. Popular art
music is set on texts or poems, which is the commonplace language of the town reflecting the
individual tastes and whims of their composers with a less beautiful and corrupt use of the language in
comparison with the high, natural, illiterate musical and poetic artistry of peasant music having no
individual authors or composers yet with a beautiful use of the language full with natural images and
marvelous metaphors. Just an example: here is a quotation of one strophe from the old style of peasant
music: Sír elöttem az út, Bánkódik az ösveny, Még az is azt mondja: Áldjon meg az östen ( In front of
me the trail is crying, The path is lamenting, Even it says: God bless you ) It does not work in English.
The translation does not show the nicety of the language, its clear genuine sound, the sound of the
words, which language is free from any stylized effects. I would even risk saying: the sound of the
meaning. Popular art music is incompetent to carry poetry as this. And its music the same way: with
its stylized lighter popular taste it cannot emulate that of peasant music, the music evolved and carried
through the natural process of a long illiterate oral

Hudson Plane Crash
Have you ever heard about, saw right before you, or saw on the news a plane crash? Have you heard
how deadly a plane crashing in water is? Also have you heard what was going on while a plane was
about to crash? Well you will hear about a crash you might not forget. Here is what happened to the
engines, what damage was done to the plane, and specific things that were going on in the cockpit
during the miracle on the hudson plane crash. Time for what happened to the engines. The engines
were pretty badly damaged. The plane was hit by about 17 geese. The plane s engines could take a hit
of 4 pounds of bird in each engine, but each engine took in about 5.1 pounds of bird. And the birds hit
the core of the engines so the engines produced no thrust. So the thrust on both engines rolled back to
zero. Which means the plane was a glider then because the thrust from the engines make a plane fly.
The engines were so badly damaged that the engines sounded like shoes in a drier because of all the
damaged parts and parts of bird in both engines bouncing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Parking In City Heights
Finding a space for parking in City Height proves difficult, as most are already taken, but I manage to
navigate into a space in a neighborhood lined with houses and front yards. Walking onto University
Avenue, I pass a vibrant collection of local businesses buildings such as tortillerias, one stop shop
clothing stores, travel agencies, autoshops and supermercados painted in bright pinks, greens, and
blues with Spanish banners. In my awe of all the colors, I almost bump into a fellow pedestrian
moving fast down the sidewalk, and realize the heavy amount of pedestrian and bike traffic for an
early weekday morning. My eyes rise above the single story business buildings and lock onto a
modern, multi story, muted auburn colors rising above the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While being one of the largest, it has also been known in the past as the most ethnic example of
neighborhoods. Resident of City Heights and writer of San Diego Free Press Anna Daniels describes
how the street vendors used to advertise their specialties to the apartments walls from the pedestrian
walks of the center square of the community, La fruta, la tortilla, las verduras, se van , and choices
from variety authentic mom and pop shops. This small entrepreneurship activity used to mark the
essence of the hub of City Heights, but has since been struck off the map at the epicenter by the
Premium Office Spaces, rising above and casting a shadow over the rest of the community. If the
residents had created a working market to their own making, why did the city undergo the City
Heights Redevelopment Project? The answer, I believe, is an incredibly biased one: because street
vendors and mom and pop shops limit capitalist control over a public space. Largely Latino
communities, like City Heights, are targeted because such ethnic liveliness blur[s] the lines between
commercial and residential activities (Rojas, 38. Added letter is my own.). To allow this cultural
infusion would relinquish control of the central space of the community to the locals, and therefore
must be redeveloped at first

Influence Of Multichannel Selling Strategies Towards...
Title Influence of Multichannel Selling Strategies Towards Consumer Buying Behaviour Introduction
The research dissertation that is proposed throughout this paper brings an indication towards the topic
of multichannel enhancement. The topic has seen a major shift in how consumers are using the
multichannel environment to purchase more and more than ever before (Jones, 2013). The retail
environment has evolved with this consumer shift, in becoming more dynamic towards the customer s
needs and creating a more customised channel (Whitler, 2016). A personal interest comes towards this
topic from my involvement in retail over the past five years, experiencing this retail evolvement first
hand. Literature Review The developed definition of the use of multichannel in the retail market has
been branded towards the opening of multiple channels to communicate towards the customer (Zhang
et al., 2010). The importance of multichannel selling strategies has significantly grown with the rise of
new business channels emerging into the market (Stojković et al., 2016). In view of this growth, a
dominant approach of retailers combining classical (store) channels and electronic (website) channels
has shown extensive successes for most of the world s leading retailers (Stojković et al., 2016). In
addition to this potential success for the retailer, the benefits can also be passed onto the customer,
which will be discussed, then simply using the selling strategy to communicate with the

Data Collection And Analysis On Azerbaijan
Methodology
Overview
In this study research focuses on interviews with political officials, experts and secondary data
collection and analysis. The main part of the research stems from interviews in Azerbaijan 5
interviews, 2 interviews in Beijing, and two Skype interviews with international experts. Totally, I had
9 respondents to conduct my research. Of these, I did 7 face to face interviews, and other 2 interviews
were conducted via Skype video call. On January I travelled to Azerbaijan, Baku (to the capital city)
for gathering interviews and related important documents. Apart from interviews, my research focuses
on secondary data collection and analysis. With secondary data I mean various types of secondary
resources such as reports, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Sampling
As the topic is related to the political sphere many problems occurred during the sampling procedure.
The main focus of the study to identify the risk factors and their effects for Azerbaijan to be a
transport hub. Due to that reason I planned to do semi structured interviews with political officials,
scholars, from Azerbaijan to understand the officials points of view about the issue. Firstly, I started
with the help of Centre for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and I
did one of my interviews there. They referred me other experts who focus this study arena.
I would like to mention that finding respondents for my research was a little bit difficult. Because the
topic is related to political sphere. I was planning to do interviews with for instance, deputies of
National Assembly, senior advisors from Ministry of Transport of Azerbaijan, officials from Port of
Baku and so on. From this point of view, conducting my research I needed political official, scholars,
transport and logistics experts. First problem came from the topic. China s relationship with South
Caucasus, especially with Azerbaijan is brand new topic for scholars. Due to that reason finding
experts and scholar who has deep knowledge on this topic made problem for my sampling. As the
topic relates to sensitive issue limitations of answers during the

Shared Knowledge And Personal Knowledge
Shared knowledge and personal knowledge, although they may come from the same concept of
acquiring them through a variety of situations, it differs on the process of gaining them. Thereupon,
such approach is seen through human sciences and natural sciences. Human sciences portray shared
knowledge through socio psychological experiments and theories created from personal experiences
and circumstances, as well as a set of collective norms and values that change depending on a group of
society or culture. On the other hand, natural sciences are made up of theories, formulation of
hypothesis and through experiments; which are obtained from paradigm shifts where it involves
perception, reasoning, language, and memory. But how does shared knowledge and personal
knowledge differ or are similar in both natural and human sciences?

Case Study Of Heinz
BRAND HEINZ Heinz
Introduction:
Till a few years back the fast food market in INDIA was not a very prominent industry mostly because
there were less of fast food joints and disposable incomes. But with the growth of both these elements
the fast food market in India received a boost. Fast food and ketchup are directly proportional to one
another. The sweet and tangy taste provided by ketchup adds to the entire experience of a delicious or
finger licking meal. Thus the rise in the demand for fast food has resulted in the rise in the demand for
ketchup in INDIA. According to a recent survey, it is estimated that Indians spend about Rs.4,449
crore a year in fast food centres.
Heinz in India:
Heinz came to India in 1994 by endorsing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Though the blind test it has been found that Heinz is in 2nd number followed by Maggi and Kissan.
Heinz gave tough competition to Cermica (1st position) but due to lack of tanginess and little sweeter
taste it occupied second place.
Verdict on Positioning:
After studying all the above aspects I found Positioning of Heinz Ketchup in India is CORRECT .
Earlier, their positioning of product was not right and they were not concentrating on their POP s and
POD as their value proposition was Redder Thicker and Tastier which is very common in today s
ketchup market.
Heinz Ketchup Brand is getting up in market after its new campaign Grown Not Made .
Heinz has used its retro style of packaging which makes their product easily identifiable on the
shelves of the supermarket.
Recent commercial Indian ad launched by Heinz was as per their POP s and POD.
Recommendations:
Ready meals are one of the fastest growing areas of the food market in developed, as well as
developing countries such as India, so there is a tremendous growth opportunity for ready meal
manufacturers. Hence, company should also introduce new varieties of ketchup to enhance its brand
image in the

The medication tamsulosin is also indicated for nocturia and acts by decreasing the contraction of smooth muscle in the prostatic capsule (Deglin, Sanoski, Vallerand, p.1164). The patient takes oxybutynin in the morning and night to treat his overactive bladder. Oxybutynin can also help treat nocturia and works by inhibiting the action of acetylcholine at the postganglionic receptors (Deglin, Sanoski, Vallerand, 2017, p.944). Bessie And Alzheimer s Dilemmas According to Green (2007) biopsychosocial and spiritual assessment alone will not provide a complete picture of competence forcing the practitioner to consider appraisal as a part of the assessment. Fanny s lower levels of functioning begins with appraisal as she perceived the demand of surrendering her driving privileges as a threat to her independence. In other words, she examined the severity of the situation deeming it as serious making her feel vulnerable as she mentioned if she could no longer drive, she will feel inadequate. Comparatively, Bessie was able to go with the flow although she understood there is no cure available for her condition, she remained positive. • 8. Argumentative Essay On Digital Music Digital Harm Steve Jobs is personally responsible for killing the music business. ~ Jon Bon Jovi (Arias 124). Jon Bon Jovi, the famous 80s pop rocker, made his claim during the time after the creation of the internet, when which the music industry had begun to decline. Given his role as a musician, he witnessed firsthand how the internet hurt the music industry. Although the benefits of the internet may seem abundant, digital music is not flawless. Despite being viewed by some as a positive addition to music, the current state of digital music limits the music industry s ability to invest in new artists to keep the music industry alive. Due to the increasing popularity of online file sharing, record labels lose money whether they protect their music or not. The book 2000s Music, written by author David Larkins and musician Greg Wilson, states., after Napster was sued, illegal file sharing grew even more popular as opposed to less (Larkins 1). The popularity of free digital music harms musicians for obvious reasons, a loss of revenue. Since the internet cannot control illegal downloads, the pay musicians receive is negatively affected. J.J. Arias, a Georgian University Professor of Economics stated in his academic journal, the enforcement of copyright laws in the digital realm proves to be a costly venture (Arias 124). • 9. Persuasive Essay On Snow Leopards Endangered species is a quandary to an ecosystem in an environment. The snow leopard is an animal that has been endangered since 1972. They are endangered for the most common reasons such as being hunted for fur but also for more effective reasons for the peopleof the snow leopard s habitat, central Asia. The snow leopard is at an advantage of being at thetop of the food chain, but their food source is beginning to take a toll as that is being hunted as well. Regardless of endangering factors to the snow leopard, any contingencies have to becontemplated to save what s left of the population. The snow leopard is a panthera uncia whose conservation status is endangered. Therationale for this predicament is that it is quite conventional for hunters in central Asia to hunt these animals for their fur. Hunting for fur is the most frequent vindication for a species to go endangered; however, now leopards have another reason to be hunted and that is for their organs, bones, and skin. These circumstances are more advantageous for Asian medicines.Hunting is not only a concern for the snow leopard but also to livestock such as sheep and goats. However, these hunts are a key component to snow leopards because these animals are what snow leopards prey on. With a viable food source being withdrawn from a habitat, the snow leopards are found to be desperate for a food source. Snow leopards are in an onerous condition if the hunts continue and their food source is being extracted. The endangerment of the snow leopard not only lies on the foundation of excessive hunts and food removal but also in the uncontrollable ecosystem transformations. Snow leopards are found in the mountainous terrain of central Asia. Normally they live 3,000 and 5,400 meters aloft sea level. However, if the latitude is lower, for say 1,000 meters above sea level then climates are instituted to be cold and dry letting a limited amount of vegetation, grass or shrubs, to grow, which only grow in vertiginous inclinations of the mountains. Snow leopards will habitually appoint subdued terrains, escarpments, or ravines. This ecosystem may be at a lost, though, as global climate changes an ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Without reading the article the audience can deduce a clear sense of seriousness and professionalism. Now some may question how on earth can this be deduced without reading it. Which is true to how nurses have to document helping build the trust of the intended audience. The sentences are fairly long with about 20 words per sentence. • 12. Emily Dickinson Emily Dickinson Emily Dickinson is one of America s greatest poets, her work was original and unique, and the speakers in her poem would often express what limitations they saw in their society and how they wish they could escape it. Although Dickinson became a famous poet, she didn t want her work published, during her lifetime other people would have some of her poems published. The poems that were published were considered to be eccentric and were altered significantly by publishers. Dickinson often wrote about the idea of being famous and how much she would dread it if she ever did become famous because she felt that it wouldn t allow her to stay true to herself. Upon her death thousands of poems were discovered by her family and were eventually published, these poems are what cemented her legacy as one of the greatest poets to ever live. Emily Dickinson was born in 1830 to a prominent family, her father was a well respected lawyer. Dickinson was well educated, she had attended school from a very young age and also attended Amherst Academy, her father wanted his children to be well educated and he reminded them to pay attention in school and learn as much as possible. At age 15 Dickinson left the academy and began to attend Mount Holyoke Female Seminary but after a year she left and went back home, nobody knows why she left but some believe this was the beginning of her reclusiveness. From an early age Dickinson began to write and some of her influences included her principal and a friend who was an attorney that worked with her father. In addition, one day during a trip to Philadelphia she befriended a minister who also became a great influence, she would correspond with him, often writing letter just like she would with everyone else. Dickinson also experienced many deaths of friends that affected her profoundly and it caused her to become depressed, sometimes expressing it in her writings. In addition, she would often express herself in statements to others not being able to understand why those close to her were constantly dying, she also expressed her depression, and she even wondered if she should die too, it is believe that these tragedies are also the reason for her reclusiveness. Each year in my education from primary to high school I learned the language from my teachers. When I graduated, I observed that I have a lack of understanding English. I realized that I have no ability to understand the news, songs also the movies with English language. I found it really very difficult. In my opinion, the problem is because in our government schools here in Kuwait do not offer enough educate. To be honest, they do not have the better skills to deliver the information for the students. Moreover, they do not teach essential vocabularies that we need in our education. Of course that can cause a problem for a student to misunderstanding the English language. I entered the university after I finish high school but I found it difficult because of lacking of vocabularies. I was only understood by scanning and catching the easy words. At least, I can understand the sentences by context. I tried to deal and come over to my problem by myself by learning more, and improved my reading in books and translating new English words to Arabic when I do not understand. Honestly, till now I ... The Destruction Of The Environment In The Gilded Age American seemed to think nothing of remarking nature for the sake of progress , Alexis de Tocqueville, a French diplomat commented when he was visiting the United States in 1831. While the American people were overwhelmed by pride and pleasure from their achievement in making industrial and economic progress, the environment was harmed in an alarming speed. Landscape was transformed, and forests were destroyed due to industrialization. By 1990, only a fraction of the United States Virgin forests were still standing. Farmers cleared trees to plant crops, and loggers cut down large areas of woodland for business profits. More than that, the most horrific thing was the government was willing to encourage loggers to exploit the forests resources by selling them large plots of land in the North West. In other words, the government was inviting loggers to destroy the landscape. Besides the loss of forests, the increasing number of ranching boosted the erosion of landscape. Crops were ... • 18. The Importance Of Pearl In The Puritan Society For about as long as organized religion has existed, faith has been passed down from parent to child. The children are willed by their parents to follow a set religion and adhere completely to its values, beliefs and rules. The Puritan time in America was no different. In fact it was likely the era in which religion and adherence to it was taken the most seriously. The Puritans worship of religion was a dictating factor when it came to laws, customs, and societal actions. In the novel The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne, the portrayal and treatment of Hester s daughter, Pearl, in the Puritan society develops the theme that religion is an oppressive system of beliefs that dictates the actions and thoughts of its followers. Ever since her birth, Pearl s behavior has been a bit off relative to the normal Puritan standard. A typical Puritan child would not play as a present day child would. They would mature quickly to help with various chores and other duties that had to be done. Pearl, however, was different. She was described on multiple occasions as being wild as she truly explored her freedom, and let her imagination work freely. This is prevalent where Hawthorne writes about Pearl that, At home, within and around her mother s cottage, Pearl wanted not a wide and various circle of acquaintance. The spell of life went forth from her ever creative spirit, and communicated itself to a thousand objects, as a torch kindles a flame wherever it may be applied. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Once the jury determines the verdict, the person being tried is not allowed to be tried again without new evidence. The concept above, is used and enforced in the courts through the fifth amendment. The fifth amendment is an important amendment because it ensures due process of law, free from self incrimination, free from double jeopardy, indicted by a grand jury, and the government has the right of eminent domain (Froseth). The fifth amendment has many parts to it. Each part helps society function. One case that made the fifth amendment important was Miranda Vs. Arizona. In Miranda Vs. During this time, Miranda was not read his rights making him believe that the his fifth amendment right was violated. Miranda brought his case to the supreme court where it ruled in his favor. I do not agree with abortion anyway, let alone partial birth. The two main people involved in the case, were Alberto R. Gonzales and Leroy Carhart. Gonzales was the petitioner who brought the case to the court and Carhart was the respondent. Gonzales wanted to overturn the Partial Birth Abortion Act, which was basically an act saying partial birth abortion is not allowed. Gonzales proposed a ruling of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit in favor of LeRoy Carhart that was attempting to tackle the Partial Birth Abortion Ban Act. On the other side was Carhart, who was against partial birth abortion and wanted the act to stand. Carharts perspective in my opinion is the right one. • 22. Comedy And Social Ideas Of Norman Lear Norman Lear was picked as a nominee for the prestigious Kennedy Center Award. Instead of accepting the award, Lear decided to boycott the Kennedy Center ceremony in December at the White House to protest Donald Trump presidency. Norman Lear has embodied the role as an agent of change because throughout his life, he has been breaking societal norms and discussing issues in society that people are afraid to talk about. Specifically, in 1971, a groundbreaking American television sitcom broke through societal boundaries and transformed the way that the American audience viewed television. Engulfed by the Vietnam War, Civil Rights Movement of the 1950s and 1960s, fight for women s right, and the Watergate scandal, Norman Lear persevered through stereotypes and entertainment norms with his show All in the Family. This show approached its audience in a very blunt and crude manner; it made conflict the center of its comedy. It dealt with contemporary cultural issues in a relatable way, which allowed blue collar workers to learn about their current everyday issues and concerns. Therefore, from declining his Kennedy Center Award because of his dislike for the President to breaking the taboos of television in the 1970s, Norman Lear has remained a visible changemaker in our society. Valid assessments require accurate feedback and exactness of the teacher s inferences about a student s ability. Reliable assessments must be both repeatable and dependable. On the assessment continuum there are three types of assessment that can be delivered to students. Each of these categories of assessments serves a different purpose. Diagnostic assessments are given before learning occurs. This type of assessment is used to identify where the students are at in learning right now, as well as any misconceptions they may have. Diagnostic assessments are critical to gathering student information to help teachers plan content to be taught, as well as to differentiate their instruction. Types Of Multiple Organ Dysfunction Syndrome Introduction Multiple Organ Dysfunction Syndrome, also known as MODS, can occur after any severe injury or disease process that activates a large systemic inflammatory response which includes any kind of shock (Sole, 2013, 283). Like with any kind of dysfunction, organ dysfunction can lead to further organ failure and ultimately death (Sole, 2013, 283). The most common causes of MODS includes severe sepsis and septic shock, which represents the highest cause of mortality in these conditions (Semeraro, 2011, 293). The body s immune system along with the body s response to stress can be a precipitating factor to maldistribution of circulating volume, global tissue hypoxia, and metabolic alterations which results in damage to the organs (Sole, 2013, 283). According to Ignatavicius (2013), once the damage has begun, a vicious cycle follow resulting in further cellular and organ damage. The first organs to lose their function include the liver, heart, brain, and kidneys, with the most devastating change being the damage to the heart muscle (Ignatavicius, 2013, 814). Multitudes of research has been done to further explain the cause and possible treatments for this deadly syndrome. Pathophysiology MODS can classified as either primary or secondary. In past years, mainly the fossil record and DNA testing has been the primary way of depicting these evolutionary traits, but I believe that we will become very advanced, whether that be technologically or scientifically, in our methods of depicting evolutionary amongst organisms. Maybe we then will be able to clearly observe the differences between Eurasian and North American mammoths, or be able to decipher if hybridization has occurred. • 37. The Positive Aspects Of Happiness Happiness could be described as the perception that the positive aspects of life outweigh the negative. With this definition, people could often attain ephemeral moments of happiness. When, for example, a man discovers that his favorite baseball team has won the championship, a woman is complimented on her dress, or a child discovers that school has been cancelled for the day, they feel happiness because at that moment some occurrence has caused them to feel that the good in the world exceeds the bad. Long term, sustainable happiness, however, is more elusive. Given time to ponder the ratio of positive to negative in their lives and the world, many people find that happiness is not so easily achievable. The man soon remembers that he has to work a twelve hour day in a factory; the woman returns home to an abusive husband; the child is bullied at school. Whenever possible, people compensate for these adversities with beneficial experiences and insights, so they can achieve happiness most often. Therefore, they tend to ignore the suffering and atrocities in the world that they perceive as not directly affecting themselves. They choose a happiness that is easily obtained and immediate, yet short term and individual rather than one that is more difficult and time consuming, yet enduring and widespread. Both the collective happiness of society and a person s individual happiness are hindered in the long term by selfish attitudes and conformity to unchallenged traditions, which ... • 39. Breathless Final Scene Essay Breathless/À bout de soufflé scene analysis The final scene of Jean Luc Goddard s Breathless (1960) is one of the most memorable scenes of the film. Not only does it portray the conventions of new wave cinema but it also depicts the existentialist themes that are presented throughout. New wave cinema was typically low budget and this is presented in the climactic scene of Breathless. The scene was shot on location and included a lot of jump cuts and disjointed editing. However, despite appearing to be unprofessional and unpolished, Breathless evokes a sense of harsh realism that is present in contemporary relationships. The final scene also symbolises the end of Michel (Jean Paul Delmondo) and Patricia s (Jean Seberg) ill fated partnership and signifies the end of their attempt to find happiness and love within one another. As Michel is running down the street, members of the public are shown walking past and looking at the protagonists, almost acting as extras. The street which Michel runs down is completely clear apart from the cars parked either side of him, the mise en scène of this scene emits a sense of entrapment for Michel. As well as the placement of the cars on either side of him, there are also buildings which further add to the feeling that he cannot escape, it as if everything is closing in on Michel leaving him trapped. I noticed quickly that this man, one of ethnical minority, relied on his family members to give him information and advice pertaining to his treatment, as he himself seemed ignorant to his own medical problems. I found his case fascinating, as he not only had one kidney, but he was also suffering many other debilitating medical crisis , all brought on by his failing renal system. I distinctly remember wondering why transplantation was not being discussed, or if it was even an option for him. My interest led me to discovering a disproportionate disparity among those who receive live donor kidney transplants, referred to as LDKT, in the United States. It is first important to understand that live kidney transplants have many benefits when compared to deceased donor transplants. Among these benefits include prolonged survival rates of up to 18 years. Also, living donor kidneys begin functioning almost immediately after surgery, and, lastly, there is the added benefit of bypassing a waiting list, limiting time spent, if any, on dialysis (Mysel, 2016). Interestingly, the majority of recipients of LDKT transplants in the United States are white. In juxtaposition, renal disease is actually more prominent in minorities such as African Americans and Hispanics. There is the perception of how people view or understand certain demeanors. Next, a behavior may be considered illegal in the eyes of the law and it may also be viewed as immoral, unethical or inappropriate in the eyes of the people. Moreover, deviant behavior is conceptualized in the eyes of the public even when an act is not illegal. On the other hand, wearing saggy pants is a matter of free will and of choice. It is part of a person s identity. Why would wearing pants that show underwear be considered deviant? Feldman(1984) indicates, norms are enforced to show people what type of behaviors are accepted within a members of society. Furthermore, this raises the point in asking the question, why there are no rules against women wearing revealing tops? In my opinion, I think it s just a matter of choice and how members of a society view such acts which are not criminalistic. I believe that sagging may be more predominant in lower classes such as college freshmen because they are just getting out of high school and may still be more involved in the trendy urban fashion statements. Next, in regards to sagging being used by upper level classmen such as seniors, I think that they would tend to use less of sagging pants because of their age and maturity level. In the same fashion, I believe school dropouts would tend to sag more than medical doctors because of the difference in professionalism. In my opinion, doctors are professionals and are not trying to look cool or make a fashion statement. In addition, I believe that some dropouts would have a lesser sense of ethical and acceptable morals. But, at the same time, I still find wearing specific styles of clothing is a matter of choice. • 42. Hungarian Peasant and Folk Music Essay Hungarian Peasant and Folk Music I. General confusion about Hungarian folk music. Gypsy music Peasant music the real Hungarian folk music is not Gypsy music. Peasant music certainly had influence on the songs and playing of gypsies who lived in Hungary and performed in ensembles, though. Gypsy music used to be the basis of all generalizations about Hungarian music. It was Ferenc Liszt s monumental error to state that Gypsy music is the creation of gypsies. The so called gypsy scale points to a southern oriental (Arabic) origin and may possibly have reached Hungary through the gypsies. This music falsifies Hungarian folk songs by introducing augmented intervals of the Gypsy scales, which scales were never used by peasants. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The first widely known Hungarian dances are composed by known composers and harmonized after the Viennese style. It is a mystery why they were labeled as Hungarian folk melodies. Popular art music is set on texts or poems, which is the commonplace language of the town reflecting the individual tastes and whims of their composers with a less beautiful and corrupt use of the language in comparison with the high, natural, illiterate musical and poetic artistry of peasant music having no individual authors or composers yet with a beautiful use of the language full with natural images and marvelous metaphors. Just an example: here is a quotation of one strophe from the old style of peasant music: Sír elöttem az út, Bánkódik az ösveny, Még az is azt mondja: Áldjon meg az östen ( In front of me the trail is crying, The path is lamenting, Even it says: God bless you ) It does not work in English. The translation does not show the nicety of the language, its clear genuine sound, the sound of the words, which language is free from any stylized effects. I would even risk saying: the sound of the meaning. Popular art music is incompetent to carry poetry as this. If the residents had created a working market to their own making, why did the city undergo the City Heights Redevelopment Project? The answer, I believe, is an incredibly biased one: because street vendors and mom and pop shops limit capitalist control over a public space. Largely Latino communities, like City Heights, are targeted because such ethnic liveliness blur[s] the lines between commercial and residential activities (Rojas, 38. Added letter is my own.). Title Influence of Multichannel Selling Strategies Towards Consumer Buying Behaviour Introduction The research dissertation that is proposed throughout this paper brings an indication towards the topic of multichannel enhancement. The topic has seen a major shift in how consumers are using the multichannel environment to purchase more and more than ever before (Jones, 2013). The retail environment has evolved with this consumer shift, in becoming more dynamic towards the customer s needs and creating a more customised channel (Whitler, 2016). A personal interest comes towards this topic from my involvement in retail over the past five years, experiencing this retail evolvement first hand. Literature Review The developed definition of the use of multichannel in the retail market has been branded towards the opening of multiple channels to communicate towards the customer (Zhang et al., 2010). The importance of multichannel selling strategies has significantly grown with the rise of new business channels emerging into the market (Stojković et al., 2016). In view of this growth, a dominant approach of retailers combining classical (store) channels and electronic (website) channels has shown extensive successes for most of the world s leading retailers (Stojković et al., 2016). In addition to this potential success for the retailer, the benefits can also be passed onto the customer, which will be discussed, then simply using the selling strategy to communicate with the ...
