Famous Person Essay
Crafting an essay on the theme of a famous person may initially seem like a straightforward task,
given the abundance of information available on well-known individuals. However, delving into
the complexities of this seemingly simple topic reveals a multitude of challenges that can make
the writing process arduous.
Firstly, selecting the right person to focus on can be daunting. The world is teeming with notable
figures from various fields—be it literature, science, politics, or entertainment. The challenge
lies not only in choosing someone widely recognized but also in finding a subject who resonates
with the writer's interests and allows for a meaningful exploration of their life and impact.
Once a subject is chosen, the next hurdle is sifting through the vast sea of information available.
Distinguishing between the significant and the trivial details can be overwhelming. It requires
meticulous research to ensure accuracy and depth in portraying the person's life, achievements,
and the context in which they lived.
Balancing the portrayal of the person's positive and negative aspects is another delicate task. A
well-rounded essay should not be a mere celebration but an honest reflection, acknowledging
both the accomplishments and the controversies surrounding the individual. Striking this balance
requires a nuanced approach and a keen understanding of the historical and cultural context in
which the person lived.
Moreover, finding a unique angle or perspective to present in the essay adds an additional layer
of difficulty. With countless essays already written about famous personalities, avoiding
clichГ©s and offering a fresh perspective demands creativity and originality.
The challenge doesn't end with writing the content. Crafting a compelling introduction that
captures the reader's attention, organizing the information coherently in the body, and
concluding with a thought-provoking summary all require careful consideration and skillful
execution.
In essence, the task of writing an essay on a famous person goes beyond compiling facts. It
involves navigating a maze of choices, conducting thorough research, maintaining a delicate
balance, and presenting the information in a captivating manner.
For those finding this process overwhelming, it's worth noting that help is available. Assistance
from platforms like HelpWriting.net can offer support in crafting essays on various topics,
including those centered around notable individuals. These services can provide guidance,
alleviate the stress of research and writing, and help individuals present a well-crafted essay that
meets their academic or personal needs.

Disadvantages Of Blockchain Technology
Blockchain Technology
a) Introduction to Blockchain Technology
As defined by Marc Andreessen, the co founder of influential Silicon Valley venture
capital firm Andreessen Horowitz, Blockchain technology is a way for one Internet
user to transfer a unique piece of digital property to another Internet user, such that
the transfer is guaranteed to be safe and secure, everyone knows that the transfer has
taken place, and nobody can challenge the legitimacy of the transfer.
Virtually anything of value can be tracked and traded on a blockchain network,
reducing risk and cutting costs for all involved.

Fraud, cyberattacks, and even simple mistakes add to the cost and complexity of
doing business, and they expose all participants in the network to risk if a central

Credit card organizations have essentially created walled gardens with a high price of

Merchants must pay the high costs of onboarding, which often involves considerable
paperwork and a time consuming vetting process.

With such wide ranging possibilities, there is no surprise that blockchain has the
potential to enhance the quality of service delivery while improving confidentiality
and integrity of data. With its promise of providing secure and transparent
transactions, blockchain seems poised to be one of the digital world s key pillars.
C) Two Ways Blockchain Can Be Used
The potential use for the blockchain is vast. It could be applied to almost any form
of record keeping, agreement, contract or register.

Greek Media Influence
Media Influence in Ancient and Modern Times Media has near complete control
over social attitudes, and constructs how people perceive each other as well as
themselves. Things have not changed since the original Doryphoros of Polykelitos
and the Knidian Aphrodite of Praxiteles were created. Both were constructed during
times in which statues that were commissioned and displayed to the public were awe
inspiring as well as subtly influencing how the viewers see the world. These iconic
statues have been analyzed by scholars for centuries, slowly picking apart every detail
in an attempt to understand how the ancient Greeks constructed and controlled the
behavior of citizens. In their appearance and context, the Doryphoros and Knidian
Aphrodite both... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Revealing Aphrodite, Nigel Spivey describes the nude Knidian Aphrodite of
Praxiteles and its cultural legacy in the understanding of societal expectations of
ancient Greek women. Respected women were depicted fully clothes, adorned
with jewelry and sometimes presenting an offering to the gods. Only sex workers,
typically slaves or the educated hetairai/courtesans, and at times certain goddesses,
appeared nude in art, but these representations did not convey the same power as
the Doryphoros does for men. The common theme amongst all the depictions of
women in art, is the passivity of their nature. For instance, the Knidian Aphrodite
catches the goddess in a moment of vulnerability. Her shoulders are hunched, hand
covering her genetalia in an attempt at modesty and her passive posture does not
inspire as much as the Doryphoros. The Knidian Aphrodite s body language does
not yield as much power or control to onlookers as the Doryphoros, but is meant to
entice and distract as women are said to do. Spivey suggests this is due to the
stigma against women embodying Aphrodite, goddess of love and desire, and
taking on the roles patroned by Demeter, goddess of the harvest and motherhood
(Spivey, 177). The juxtaposition of these goddesses speaks to how it is up to women
to, in a sense, bring themselves up by straying away
Analysis Of Accounts Receivable Balances
Interpretation of the Receivables Data Accounts receivable balances Accounts
receivables balances are the uncollected amounts as at a specific point in time. For
instance, for year one, first quarter at end of March, the balance is $ 386,875 and
for the second quarter it is $ 333,000. For the second year, it is estimated that the
balance as at end of March and June shall be $ 449,000 and $ 395,125 respectively.
Average collection period (ACP) The average collection period is the average
number of days between the date that a credit sale is made, and the date that the
money is received from the customer. Aging schedules These are tables that are used

managers to remove the effects of seasonal and/or cyclical sales variation and to
construct an accurate measure of receivables payment patterns. Thus, it provides
financial managers with better aggregate information than do such crude measures

the end of June These are the costs incurred so that the receivables can be translated
into income. The difference in quarterly carrying costs is projected at $ 862 in
both year 1 and 2. Sensitivity of the Results to the Basic Assumptions For the first
year, the accounts receivable balance is projected to drop by $ 53,875 while the
average collection period drops by 16 days between the two quarters. In the second
year, there is no projected change on the drop in accounts receivable balance but
the drop in average collection period is 12 days. The difference in quarterly

Reflection Of Writing A Letter To The English Class
Thank you for your letter! While I usually do well in English classes, they are in no
way my strong suit. I love science classes, so analysis writing has been a weakness
of mine. Before you try to read the syllabus more, which may look confusing, take a
few minutes to read my letter. Given the knowledge I ve learned from this class, I
will answer all of your questions and help to set your mind at ease. I ll give you my
perspective on this class and what it is about without having to look at the syllabus.
This course has made me a better writer. The whole idea of rhetoricis to write
effectively for your audience. I applied what I learned on my writingassignments. For
example, I wrote a paper about vaccination requirements and angled it towards
Christians who oppose vaccination. Now, if I was writing the same paper but to
an atheist audience, there are certain points I would not have added because they
would not relevant. I referenced the Bible and stated information that I knew
would get an emotional reaction to gain their attention. In this class, I also learned
how to work with others. That sounds unusual because this is an online class,
however, for every module we had a section where we had to reply to others
writing. These activities helped improved my writing because I got a different
perspective on my writing and took advice. I improved my skills as a peer reviewer
on a few assignments in this class. This class was nicely organized into modules

The Current State Of Sharia Law
The current State of Sharia Law in Africa

Abstract
Africa isn t not necessarily considered to be a region that has a majority of muslim
communities, it does inhabit a surprising amount who do practice that religion. A
particular and highly influenced aspect of the muslim community is that of sharia
law. Sharia is basically the legal code many of those who are muslim practice.
Though many would see a legal code as straightforward in its ways, sharia law
holds up to many interpretations; ranging to what can be seen as liberal sharia to
radical terroristic sharia. Throughout the explanations in this essay on the current
state of sharia law in Africa, it is important to note that the only aspect of sharia law
in Africa, which is the radical terroristic perception, will be discussed in this article.
Throughout this essay, The Current State of Sharia Law in Africa will be addressed
using news headlines, examples, the law code and procedures countries are taking in
order to contain the spread of this particular comprehension of sharia law. Different
affairs that are included in this essay include Boko Haram and the violence that his
has brought, government instability, Hadd punishment and felonies, and how it has
influenced many aspects of living in certain regions of Africa.
Many times, sharia law appears on the international headlines, but usually in

The way the internet is progressing and technology eventually all TV shows,

if the past. TV s are already internet capable and it s just a matter of time before
everything is digital and there are now hardcopies of anything. It may take 20 years
for this to happen but it will and if companies don t wait to go out of business or
bankruptcy they will have no choice but to adapt.
Have more strict and comprehensive laws in place for copyrighted material violators.
Having the laws in place to where all countries collaborate toward one common
goal will be almost impossible because those last few nations that refuse to
cooperate with the other major nations because the servers that host the websites
that have the copyrighted material on them will bring too much revenue to the
country. The only way to make this work is to have teams of computer
programmers sponsored by corporations seeking to protect their copyrighted
material and be endorsed by all the entire major nations. These team will have to
patrol the internet and will write viruses that will prowl the internet looking for the
fingerprint of copyrighted material so the material can be erased and the servers
crippled by viruses so they are no longer useable.

Gender Stereotypes Of The Sexes
Stereotypes of the Sexes Feminist: the person who believes in the social, political,
and economic equality of the sexes. Sexual stereotypes are deeply imbedded into
today s society. Ideals of the gender roles are passed down from generation to
generation, creating a gap between what is socially acceptable for a woman to do
and what is expected of a man. One thousand years ago humans chose dominance by
physical capability, simply because it was essential for our survival, but the world
has evolved. One thousand years ago physical strength was the most important part of
survival for humanbeings. Men in general are physically stronger therefore it made
sense to have a man lead. The world humans live in has evolved and is no longer run
by the physically entailed, but by the most intelligent or creative(Adichie). Though
this world has evolved, the genderexpectations and stereotypes have stayed the
same. Sexual stereotypes in America limit men and women to abide with,by the
expectations of masculinity and feminism, create a sense of shame for women,
and create a gap in today s job industry. Men are raised in a world that expects them
to stay in this box of masculinity. Men are expected to be disconnected from their
emotions, because men don t cry . We teach men to be afraid of vulnerability,
because they are expected to be tough men(Adichie). Men are supposed to be sexual
beings, while women are the emotional ones. In reality, both women and men have

Being A Child Again
I will think that it is better to be a child because of all the good benefits that comes
with being a child.
The benefits of being a child again is so good. For an example a child is more
likely to have more fun memory then a high school teenager would. Kids do not
have to worry about grades, responsibility, getting in trouble, having to clean up,
ect. Most people will agree to disagree with me about being a child again. the
people that agree with me are probably thinking about all the good times that they
had as a child. I mean who can blame them, as child I got everything that I wanted. If

the world and that everybody was against me. I had a few drawbacks when I was a
child. One of my biggest drawbacks that I wish my mother would allow me to do
was to go spend a night over a friends house. Spending a night over a friends house
was a big N.O for me and all of my sisters. Nobody was allowed to come over or
spend a night as well they were allowed to stand outside the front house. If they
wanted something to drink well they better start walking back home. Another
drawback was that I was no allowed to go with my older sisters when they wanted
to go somewhere with a friend. I m not 100% sure that most people will agree with
me but my mother did not really allow me to do much as a child. I m not sure that
it was because I am the youngest out of four girls o because she did not want me to

Essay on Medical Law and Bioethics Unit 4 Project
The purpose of an advance directive is to have a written statement stating the type
and amount of care a person wishes to receive during a terminal illness. (Medical
Law and Ethics, 2008, pp. 102) An advance directive is a very important part of
life once you have been diagnosed with a terminal illness, or even if you are
getting older and doubt the degree to which you will be taken care of. Three types
of advance directives are living wills, a durable power of attorney, and a do not

Schindlers List
PLOT SUMMARY
The movie Schindler s list is a compelling, real life depiction of the events that
occurred during the 1940 s. It illustrates the persecution and horrific killings of the
Jewish people. It also exemplifies the hope and will of the Jewish people, which
undoubtedly is a factor in the survival of their race. The most important factor
however is because of the willingness of one man, Oskar Schindler, to stand out and
make a difference.
The movie starts out in a Jewish home, where a Jewish family is celebrating the
Sabbath. Candles are lit while songs are sung, and when the Jews leave the house, the
candles slowly burn out. The German forces have just defeated the ... Show more

of his workers, who had not been killed, back to his factory.
Days after everyone returns to work, the sick Jews are separated from the healthy
ones. Women pricked their fingers and rubbed blood on their faces in order to be
healthier looking. The weak and old Jews are killed to make room for new
shipments of Jewish workers. The children are placed on trucks and sent away.
The next scene in the film is Schindler s birthday. A few workers from the factory
bring Schindler a birthday present and in turn he kisses one of the young Jewish
girls, which broke the Race and Resettlement Act. Goeth and Oskar discuss what
happened at the party and Schindler apologizes.
In April 1944, Goeth receives orders to unearth and burn more than 10,000 Jews
that were killed at Plaszow and Krakow. The living Jews are forced to do this.
Another order is received to move all of the Jews to a new camp to avoid the
Russians. Schindler creates a plan; he digs deep into his ever decreasing finances
and builds a new factory. He bargains with Goeth, and buys all of the Jewish
workers he needs to run his factory. He draws up a list, later to be known as
Schindler s List , which includes more than 1,100 men, women, and children. Despite

Who Is Ethan Frome A Tragic Hero
The character Ethan Frome in the novella, Ethan Frome by Edith Wharton can be
classified as an archetypal tragic hero. Ethan is archetypal, as the issues which
confront him are universal. He draws on thoughts, feelings and concerns that have
been part of humanity since the start of mankind. Ethan is a tragic heroas he shares in
common, some of the characteristics required to be so. Two of these characteristics
include that he has a noble stature and that he succumbs to hamartia. While Ethan
Frome may not conform to a strict definition of tragic hero to be found in classical
literature, he is an archetypal tragic hero nonetheless. What is particularly tragic
about Ethan Frome, however, is that in order to be good, he has to be miserable.

Ethan is neither rich, nor politically powerful. He has neither high status, nor a

However, Ethan Frome initially possesses a moral loftiness due to his adherence

hero by living a life of duty, integrity and conformity. He is a protagonist who lacks
the traditional qualities of a hero and thus, is a modern anti hero. Thus, Ethan Frome
s noble stature is derived from his initial moral loftiness. Furthermore, some may
argue that Ethan is not a tragic hero because his hamartia is not due to a traditional
shortcoming such as hubris. Ethan does not suffer from excessive pride, but rather
is supremely humble. However, Ethan does suffer a tragic fall. In forsaking the
values of his community, and putting his own needs ahead of others, he is left more
trapped and miserable than before. While Ethan s tragic flaw is defying the code of
his community, it nonetheless leads to his downfall leaving him in tragic
Public Distribution System Of India
I Introduction
Distribution is a crucial function of marketing. It provides a vital link between the
producers and customers by making available goods and services. The distribution
system encompasses all movements starting from the shipment of raw materials to
the delivery of the finished products to the customers. The distribution system
undertaken by the Government is termed as Public Distribution System .
Acc. to The Economic Times the Definition: Public distribution system is a
government sponsored chain of shops entrusted with the work of distributing basic
food and non food commodities to the needy sections of the society at very cheap
prices.
IIPublic Distribution System in India
It is important to note that public distribution system has been the topic of debates in
India for long. In India Public Distribution System is 75 years old. Though it was
started as a rationing system during the War time scarcity situation, it has grown
into being the largest system of organized food grain distribution in the world this
day. Availability of food grains is essential and of prime concern but not passable
condition to make sure food security to the poor people. In addition to food
availability, it is necessary that food accessibility is also ensured to the poor
households. This can be done either by raising the level of incomes of these poor
households or by providing them food grains at subsidized prices. Public
Distribution System (PDS) is a way to ensure availability

The Discovery Of The Space Station
Someday, somehow, Clarke knew that she would witness the beauty of Earth. She
would be able to feel the sun warm her skin, and have the wind kiss her cheeks as
she walked through a forest. Maybe she would watch a rabbit hop out of a bush, or
follow butterflies as she wandered carelessly around the ground if those creatures
were still alive from all the radiation. Her father had always told her stories about
Earth, visualizing it as a heaven for the living. It had been nearly ninety seven years
since the last humans touched the Earth s surface, and only a couple hundred
thousand had survived long enough to make it to the Arkthe space station where the
last human beings have been living in since the nuclear bombings. Had the
humans not been at conflict with one another, then maybe they would still be
inhabitants of Earth. But war brought distrust, and distrust in the other countries
led to nuclear warfare. While watching the old documentaries of the last surviving
humans retelling their stories of Earth, Clarke realized how different the Ark was,
and how she would never live to her fullest until she was on the ground. The Ark

Bridget Jones
After twelve years of wait, the third instalment of the Bridget Jones (2001 2004) film
series has been finally released.
When Working Title Films announced its intention of making another film back in
2009, several problems arrived with such announcement. In fact, the director of
Bridesmaids and most recently Ghostbusters: Answer the Call, was reportedly going
to be the director of the film. However, creative differences arise with Working Title
and he exited the project. Production was slanted to begin in January of 2012,
nonetheless, the screenplay was not good enough, according to the actors and it drew
creative differences. Despite originally having the three main actors from the first two

Nonetheless, all that can be said is that it is much better than its predecessor, Bridget
Jones: The Edge of Reason (2004). The main plot is contrived so that nor Jones or
the two possible fathers learn about who is the actual father of the baby boy. One of
the few good aspects to say about this contrived arrangement, is that the audience
gets to enjoy more of Thompson, who aside from collaborating on writing the
screenplay, she has a supporting role in it as Dra. Rawling, Jones s gynecologist;

Last Tango in Paris (1972) Sex, suicide and butter; this film is anything but a
romantic love story. Last Tango In Paris is an intellectual sexual drama that bases
itself on the sexual union of two very different people in the bohemian setting of
Paris during the post sexual liberation era of the 1970s.
Marlon Brando plays a troubled middle aged American, Paul, who rents an apartment
with an attractive and confident Parisian, Jeanne (Maria Schneider). It is in this
room that the two pursue a sordid affair where Paul insists that neither of them know
each others names or backstory. The dirty, empty and bleak apartment and the musty
mattress in the middle of the living room represents the lives of both Paul and
Jeanne. For these people sex is the perfect distraction from the real world.
Certainly the most interesting of characters; it is through sex with a stranger in which
Paul can gain control and escape the pain of his wife s suicide something he could

Test Structure The GRE consists of three subtests: Verbal Reasoning (GRE V),
Quantitative Reasoning (GRE Q) and Analytical Writing (GRE A). The following
information pertains to the computer based GRE. The Analytical Writing subtest is
composed of two tasks, the Issue Task and the Argument Task, and is always
completed first. The Issue Task allows the test taker to pick one of two essay topics
to write about in 45 minutes; the Argument Task is one essay topic with a time limit
of 30 minutes. The pools of topics for the Argument and Issue Tasks are available to
the test taker on the ETS website (ETS, 2009b). The remainder of the GRE can vary
in order among the remaining subtests. The Verbal and Quantitative Reasoning
sections are computer adaptive, or the next question s difficulty is based on the test
taker s ability to answer the previous question correctly; the test taker is not allowed
to return to previous answers for corrections or to jump ahead to later questions

Geoffrey Chaucer s The Shipman s Tale
The structure and characters of Geoffrey Chaucer s The Shipman s Tale warp the
traditional in order to create a thriving network for exchange. Stylistically, this
particular tale utilizes common conventions of the fabliau: sex, trickery, and poetic
justice. That being said, The Shipman s Tale is completely void of an overall moral
message a key element in the genre. Instead, there is a focus on the presence of male
and female characters who work to fulfill an individual agenda, and on the
[exploration of] each other s intentions in cloaked terms... [and the avoidance of]
direct commitment (Finlayson 342). Chaucer rejuvenates the fabliau s structure,
which allows the Merchant, his wife, and the Monk to each assume the mercantile
roles of borrower, lender, seller and purchaser of goods without seriously harming
their relationships (Finlayson 343). As a result, the meaning of the tale is not
embedded in the fulfillment of norms of this genre, but in its displacement of these
conventions by focus on the exchanges between the characters. John Finlayson points
out that since licit and illicit sex are paralleled with honest and dishonest trade... [The
Shipman s Tale] only recognizes the non ideal world of suspended moral laws, lustful
hedonism and deceit , thus establishing the immoral series of events between the
Monk, the Merchant, and his wife as an acceptable reality (349). This common
ground between the three characters creates a community where the

The Revolutionary War Of Independence
The American Revolution which began as a War of Independence for American
quickly transformed into a civil battle between the American patriots and loyalists
joined by Indian forces. This war of independence, irrefutably, had a great effect on
the citizens of America in varying degrees. The revolution, of course, gave a free
rein to unforeseen political revolutions which often spark social revolutions.
However, the American Revolution has foreseen the beginning of an abolitionist
movement for African American slaves, broaden the social roles of women, and
diversified religious life in American society. The Revolutionary War notably
changed the framework of the government and secured independence, but it also
affected those that aren t mentioned in the Declaration of Independence, African
American slaves and women, and impacted the principle of the separation of the
church and state. America s war of independence was undeniably a war of social
change which overall redefined rights of American citizens. The Revolutionary War
was an engine of change. The Revolutionary War offered enslaved blacks fluctuating
degrees of opportunities for freedom. America s war of independence greatly
impacted the lives of African American slaves. The world s first Antislavery society
was founded in 1775 by the Quakers of Philadelphia, the year the Revolution began
(ushistory.org). Pennsylvania quickly became America s most diverse colony which
included African Americans, Indians, and Dutch and
The Pros And Cons Of Evaporation
Evaporation is the process that changes liquids into gases. When a liquid is heated,
it becomes a gas and spreads into the atmosphere, or the surrounding air. Liquids
becomes gases by adding thermal energy to them. Thermal energy is the amount of
energy any matter has because of the moving particles, molecules and atoms, inside
it. The lakes, rivers, and oceans evaporate when the sun comes out and heats them
up. The molecules from the bodies of water rise from Earth s surface into the
surrounding atmosphere. Even small puddles of water can evaporate when the sun
comes out and warms them. Let s explore heat and evaporation.
When you see a pot of water boiling on the stove, you see steam coming out of the
pot and going into the surrounding air. The steam is called water vapor, and it s
created by the heating of the water. The heat applied to the water gives the molecules
in the water more energy, which makes the molecules move around faster, and escape
into the atmosphere.
When molecules of water evaporate, heat from the object they evaporated from
goes with them into the air. The heat is called latent heat, and it s inside the water
molecules. This also lowers the temperature of the object the heat came from.
Evaporative cooling is when an object cools down because of evaporation. When
you exercise and it s hot outside, your body sweats. When your body sweats,
evaporation causes the water on your body, or the sweat, to eventually evaporate, or
rise into the air. This action
Comparing Tristram To Isolt And The Love-Drink
In love stories like Romeo and Juliet, the main theme in the story is that sometimes
love is worth dying for if it is true and pure, and Shakespeare focused on writing a
play in which that theme was made obvious. In the case of Tristan and Iseult, there
are many versions of their love story. Most versions result in their deaths because
they cannot live without the other; however, some versions leave one of the two
alive. Although there are many different versions, they all tell a story similar to the
ones before it. In Tristram to Isolt and The Love Drink, both authors tell the story of
Tristan and Iseult, yet both have differences like their plot and diction in order to
emphasize different, distinct themes. Both stories use a different plot scheme which
highlights the different themes that each author hoped to draw attention to. The Love
Drink by Sally Bridges mainly emphasizes the moment when Iseultand Tristan drink
from the bottle and fall in love with each other; Tristram to Isolt by Madison J.

Cawein s Tristram to Isolt uses words which imply death that create an idea in the
reader s mind that the love between Tristan and Iseult is deadly and poisonous
which is exactly the theme that Cawin tries to focus on. Among these words are
lines like a thing of Hell and sweet sin which sound as if Tristan is calling his love
for Iseult toxic (Cawein). The theme of love being morbid to those with a faint grip
on reality is pulled out through the way Cawein seemingly makes Tristan a guy who

Implication Of Costume Design Choices Of William...
Implication of Costume Design Choices in Staging Marlowe s Doctor Faustus An
effective costume engages the audience s attention and enhances the production
and the actor s performance: (1) it visually defines and supports the character
developed by the actor, and (2) it helps establish the overall theme and mood of the
production as interpreted by the director. An effective costume speaks to the
audience s subconscious store of knowledge and experience, helping them to
identify the individual characters even before they speak and even if they are
silent. The Magic Garment (Cunningham 2) The most first and most important step
in designing costumes for a show is to discuss the overall artistic vision of the
show with the director. Interpretation of the text and the resulting goal of the
production will guide the artistic design of the show, from the set and costumes to
props and acting. Eleanor Fuchs essay EF s Visit to a Small Planet: Or Some
Questions to Ask of a Play provides an analytical framework that can be applied to
any play to help determine the nature of this interpretation. When this framework is
applied to Marlowe s The Tragical History of Doctor Faustus, it is possible to
consider how design elements, such as costumes, might change the overall audience
interpretation of the play. Design choices provide details that aren t specified in the
text alone, which can direct not only the audience s overall interpretation of the show,
but also their
Quietness In To Kill A Mockingbird
Quietness is not to be mistaken as shyness. In fact the exact definition of quiet is to
make no noise or sound, especially no disturbing sound (Dictionary.com). While
shyness is defined as, being reserved or having or showing nervousness, timidity in
the company of other people (Encyclopedia.com). You cannot group the shy within
the quiet. Nicholas Christenfeld, a psychologyprofessor at the University of
California, San Diego stated, There are people who wish to talk, but are too timid
to do so as well, there are those who, simply choose not to say much (Weeks). The
quiet hold a presence of unknown power, they can quiet a whole room with one sound
and make you admit your deep secrets just fill one second of silence.

It seems that the most remembered of our leaders are those who stood with the
smallest of personalities, the ones who had few words to say. But the words they
did speak changed our worldviews forever. Take Rosa Parks, an American Civil

refused to give up her bus seat for a white passenger she unknowingly started an

you don t have to be a big a personality or a loud person to take a stand. You can be a

The Pros And Cons Of Sports Stadiums
Sports teams are a symbol of a cities pride. Take for example the Chicago Cubs.
They create a sense of loyalty toward that city. However, none of that would happen
without a stadium. Stadiums and teams can play a very important role in a cities
economy, or they could also be irrelevant. To decide whether or not they are useful or
not you must first understand each side of the argument. So first, let s examine the
pros of having a stadiumwithin your city. Then, we will discuss the harms of having
one. And finally, decide which side is more beneficial for the economy.
Proponents of subsidizing sports stadiums is a great decision because the
economic impact it will have on the community is great for two main reasons.
First, sports stadiums are massive construction projects. In fact, one could compare
them to a medieval cathedral in their attempts to dominate a skyline and inspire
pride in one s city And, just like these cathedrals, they are very expensive, and
massive building projects that would require many years of hard painstaking labor.
For example, the proposed stadium for the Los Angeles Rams in Inglewood,
California, was predicted to cost $3 billion and add 22,000 construction jobs to the
economy of Los Angeles, California. Although construction jobs do eventually
disappear once a stadium is constructed once the games begin, so does the massive
consumer spending. For example, more than 3.5 million people saw the St. Louis
Cardinals play at Busch Stadium in 2015.
Penny Stock Trading
Penny stock investing is not something that sounds as the name sounds, rather it is
quite different from what the name suggests. Penny stock is also known as micro
cap investment. Any stock that costs less than $5 is called penny stock. Penny
stocks are usually even lesser than $5, like $3 or $1, though $5 acts as a good
example for understanding the principle. Any stockthat is being traded over the
counter bulletin board (OCTBB) is considered a penny stock.Penny stock pose a lot
of risk to inexperienced traders as these trading companies use pink slips. Since
these companies use pink sheets that means they do not have to release any
information to the public as they are not registered to Securities and Exchange
Commission (SEC). Bigger stock markets like the New York stock marketor
NASDAQ have to reveal all their information to the public. This poses a great risk
while opting for penny stock. There are no minimum standards for many of these
companies. Due to the lack of higher standards in large exchanges these companies
have moved to pink sheets. Many companies that trade in penny stocks are usually
relatively new companies, so there are no stock exchange histories. Also all these
companies do not need... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Community Reflection Report

of an organization, or in my case a student. Coming from all walks of life we
divested a few hours once a month to discuss and plan the future of Milwaukie. We
started with a dream, a single question, what is the most ideal Milwaukie? This
question, of course, is different for every person in that meeting, but that s the
point. In the beginning stages of the VAC we discussed this vision, our personal
vision and eventually our collective vision. During this process we thought of four
major pillars of life, those being planet, place, people, and prosperity. These pillars
were our guiding principles that everything, one way or another had to come back
to. Once our vision was set and our mission statement drafted we opened our work to
the public by holding a town hall meeting. This town hall took place in November,
nearly four months from the beginning of our endeavor. We left that meeting with
great feedback and fantastic suggestions, as well as the notion that we still have a
tremendous amount of work to complete. While our vision statement was liked and
accepted by the masses the main

For the next half century, the simple industrial structure of Worcester changed very
little: factory products remained diverse; factory owners remained native born locally
rooted, unified, and paternalistic; factory workers remained ethnic and divided. And
then the twentieth century shifted that simple industrial structure: factories turned to
new products; factory owners consolidated; new American generations and newer
immigrants replaced immigrant workers. Furthermore, due to the fact that the
nineteenth century American working class experience was an intensely local
experience, a community study offers the best opportunity for wholly encompassing
the lives of Worcester s workers. The demand carried by hundreds of trade unionists

sought during this time was eight hours for work, eight hours for sleep/rest, and

Animals Are Not Being Treated Essay
With a growing population the farmers are having to raise more animals for
production. . While having to maximize their output they are having to lowering their
expenses. In the process the animals are being confined in small areas to help get
them fatter and have to get them ready for market quicker. The animals are not being
given the best environment or treatment. A lot of people do not realize how the
animals being treated can affect us and they are only worrying about what they are
going to eat. The sheer number of animals raised within confinement operations
increases the transmission of infectious agents within flocks and herds and, by
extension, between animals and human workers (Animal Welfare Institute). When the
animals are kept in small confined areas it can cause them to get sick and when we
eat the meatit could affect us. That may be reason behind why we get swine flu.
When they give the animals medicine that is also used in human medicine, it can
cause us to become resistant to the antibiotic. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC)
estimates that each year two million people in the United States contract antibiotic
resistant infections (Animal Welfare Institute). This proves that it is actually possible
for us to become resistant to medicine because they giving the same thing to the
animals we eat. Animal and manure management on confinement operations, animal
transport, and meat processing can also contribute to food contamination and

The Importance Of Death In The Book Thief
Cruelty is laid upon Death while he has no choice. This is what Death has to do for
his job and he has no choice. In The Book Thief by Markus Zusak, Death is seen as
a cruel character. In these next three paragraphs, I will show how Death is caring
for humans through his interactions with the world, Liesel, and Max. As you read
on think to yourself how Death has made an impact in your life or in a close friend
or family member s life. In the story, Death shows love for the entire world even
though he says, I m haunted by humans . Death hates that people see him as a bad,
inimical, and destructive person and he would love to change their opinions but
just can t because his life is a circle that never ends. So whenever he gets a chance
to show care towards people he does his best to make it happen even if he gets
judged or torn down. He tells us at the beginning of the novel that the most painful
part of his job is seeing the survivors, the leftover humans, the ones who are left
behind, crumbling among the jigsaw puzzle of realization, despair, and surprise.
You could argue that Death is in the unlucky position of having human like
emotions, but never being allowed to be a part of humanity. This quote shows that
when he sees the world is crumbling to bits and pieces he his hurt and he even says it
the most painful part of his job. He obviously cares for the world and the people who

Gospel Of Mark Analysis
Bible Scholar David Garland points to two possibilities as to why Mark s Gospel
is written in a narrative style or form. Garland believes the Gospel of Mark either
came from an oral story circulating in the Jerusalem church or it came from a
firsthand account of the Apostle Peter. Some bible scholars point to the idea that the
Gospelof Mark was narrativized, so it could be heard rather than be read silently.
Bible scholar Robert Tannehill believes the Gospel of Markmay even have been
collected and delivered orally before it was ever written down. Michael Licona
believes if a certain text appears in all three Synoptics, the Gospel of Mark is the
most likely source for Matthew and Luke s accounts. Licona notes that this rule
should not be held hard and fast, since Mark may also have been using an oral story
while Matthew and Luke choose another source or omitted material where it differs
in each of their Gospel s. The Apostle Peter seems to be the eyewitness account
which Mark narrates into a single unified story, which centers around a single central
figure Jesusand a group of His closest companions. If the author of Mark was using
an oral story to write his gospel from, this would definitely explain its narrative style.
Some other evidence which points to the Gospel Mark being an oral story being
written down is its brevity and action where the other gospels such as Luke, which

Pokemon Essay
Gibson 1 Jake Gibson English 102 Gotta Catch Em All! What does Pokemon give
to the world? Does it provide more than just joy to those who are socially
awkward? Has Pokemon affected society for the best or the worst? There are many
instances in which Pokemon has done both for the world. Pokemon has helped
children with math and English. Pokemon has provided friendship to those who
do not fit in as well as others. Pokemon has evoked many joyous moments in this
world, but for every good thing, there is a bad thing waiting to accompany it.
Schools have banned Pokemon at the playground and in class primarily because of
fights over cards. I have been in feuds over Pokemon cards that did not end well.
There are other reasons as to why Pokemon... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

If the attack power number is less than or equal to that of the resistance number of
the attacked Pokemon, it will do no damage to the attacked Pokemon. Simply put,
if a water Pokemon with 20 resistances to fire will not be hurt by a fire attack of 20
or less. These resistances show the cancellation process of positive and negative
numbers. The attack is the negative number being added to the resistance. Since
they are the same number, they cancel each other out and nothing happens, just
like arithmetic (1). Pokemon may seem like it is meant to just be a game, but it is
more than just that. It has been used as a teaching tool on a couple of different
levels. A pokedex is a device used in the Pokemon series which identifies the
different types and species of Pokemon. It is basically the Pokemon encyclopedia.
Now back to the pedagogy that Pokemon brings. If children are trying to
understand the OPAC system (Open Public Library Catalog), then students who
are familiar with Pokemon can relate it to the Pokedex (Porcaro 2). Just like the
Pokedex, the OPAC is a huge resource that embodies that of an encyclopedia for a
library. In fact, the word Pokedex is comprised of two root words; Pokemon and
Index. Pokemon has developed a new craze through many different aspects of
entertainment. There is an animated cartoon series based on the
Overview of Quality Systems and Costs
Quality Systems and Costs Preventive and corrective actions are very similar
concepts in a quality control system, as both are geared towards ensuring that flaws
or deviations from standard products are fixed such that the company does not pass
lesser quality products to consumers or spent unnecessary sums in fixing problems
after the fact (Quality Progress, 2012). There is an essential difference between
preventive and corrective action, however; the former refers to proactive actions
that take place before problems are encountered actions that prevent flaws/deviations
/etc. while corrective actions are taken after the afct to ensure that an observed error
in a system is not repeated and that the fewest possible amount of output is affected
by the system error these actions correct problems that lead to flaws/deviations/etc
(Quality Progress, 2012). Though this might not appear an especially significant
difference at first glance, it can have profound impact on quality control systems and
perspectives, and is very important to take note of (Quality Progress, 2012). The four
major categories of quality costsare preventive costs, appraisal or inspections costs,
internal failure costs, and external failure costs (Accounting for Management, 2012).
Preventive costs, as might be inferred from the description of preventive actions
given above, are costs that are incurred in the prevention of flaw/deviations/etc n the
output of a given company, while appraisal or inspection

Famous Person Essay. Famous person i admire essay. A Person Who I Admire Essay Example. 2022 ...

  • 1. Famous Person Essay Crafting an essay on the theme of a famous person may initially seem like a straightforward task, given the abundance of information available on well-known individuals. However, delving into the complexities of this seemingly simple topic reveals a multitude of challenges that can make the writing process arduous. Firstly, selecting the right person to focus on can be daunting. The world is teeming with notable figures from various fields—be it literature, science, politics, or entertainment. The challenge lies not only in choosing someone widely recognized but also in finding a subject who resonates with the writer's interests and allows for a meaningful exploration of their life and impact. Once a subject is chosen, the next hurdle is sifting through the vast sea of information available. Distinguishing between the significant and the trivial details can be overwhelming. It requires meticulous research to ensure accuracy and depth in portraying the person's life, achievements, and the context in which they lived. Balancing the portrayal of the person's positive and negative aspects is another delicate task. A well-rounded essay should not be a mere celebration but an honest reflection, acknowledging both the accomplishments and the controversies surrounding the individual. Striking this balance requires a nuanced approach and a keen understanding of the historical and cultural context in which the person lived. Moreover, finding a unique angle or perspective to present in the essay adds an additional layer of difficulty. With countless essays already written about famous personalities, avoiding clichГ©s and offering a fresh perspective demands creativity and originality. The challenge doesn't end with writing the content. Crafting a compelling introduction that captures the reader's attention, organizing the information coherently in the body, and concluding with a thought-provoking summary all require careful consideration and skillful execution. In essence, the task of writing an essay on a famous person goes beyond compiling facts. It involves navigating a maze of choices, conducting thorough research, maintaining a delicate balance, and presenting the information in a captivating manner. For those finding this process overwhelming, it's worth noting that help is available. Assistance from platforms like HelpWriting.net can offer support in crafting essays on various topics, including those centered around notable individuals. Things have not changed since the original Doryphoros of Polykelitos and the Knidian Aphrodite of Praxiteles were created. Both were constructed during times in which statues that were commissioned and displayed to the public were awe inspiring as well as subtly influencing how the viewers see the world. These iconic statues have been analyzed by scholars for centuries, slowly picking apart every detail in an attempt to understand how the ancient Greeks constructed and controlled the behavior of citizens. In Revealing Aphrodite, Nigel Spivey describes the nude Knidian Aphrodite of Praxiteles and its cultural legacy in the understanding of societal expectations of ancient Greek women. Respected women were depicted fully clothes, adorned with jewelry and sometimes presenting an offering to the gods. Only sex workers, typically slaves or the educated hetairai/courtesans, and at times certain goddesses, appeared nude in art, but these representations did not convey the same power as the Doryphoros does for men. The common theme amongst all the depictions of women in art, is the passivity of their nature. For instance, the Knidian Aphrodite catches the goddess in a moment of vulnerability. Her shoulders are hunched, hand covering her genetalia in an attempt at modesty and her passive posture does not inspire as much as the Doryphoros. The Knidian Aphrodite s body language does not yield as much power or control to onlookers as the Doryphoros, but is meant to entice and distract as women are said to do. Spivey suggests this is due to the stigma against women embodying Aphrodite, goddess of love and desire, and taking on the roles patroned by Demeter, goddess of the harvest and motherhood (Spivey, 177). The juxtaposition of these goddesses speaks to how it is up to women to, in a sense, bring themselves up by straying away

Now, if I was writing the same paper but to an atheist audience, there are certain points I would not have added because they would not relevant. I referenced the Bible and stated information that I knew would get an emotional reaction to gain their attention. In this class, I also learned how to work with others. That sounds unusual because this is an online class, however, for every module we had a section where we had to reply to others writing. These activities helped improved my writing because I got a different perspective on my writing and took advice. I improved my skills as a peer reviewer on a few assignments in this class. This class was nicely organized into modules containing inquiries

Last Tango In Paris is an intellectual sexual drama that bases itself on the sexual union of two very different people in the bohemian setting of Paris during the post sexual liberation era of the 1970s. Marlon Brando plays a troubled middle aged American, Paul, who rents an apartment with an attractive and confident Parisian, Jeanne (Maria Schneider). It is in this room that the two pursue a sordid affair where Paul insists that neither of them know each others names or backstory. The dirty, empty and bleak apartment and the musty mattress in the middle of the living room represents the lives of both Paul and Jeanne. • 23. Geoffrey Chaucer s The Shipman s Tale The structure and characters of Geoffrey Chaucer s The Shipman s Tale warp the traditional in order to create a thriving network for exchange. Stylistically, this particular tale utilizes common conventions of the fabliau: sex, trickery, and poetic justice. That being said, The Shipman s Tale is completely void of an overall moral message a key element in the genre. Instead, there is a focus on the presence of male and female characters who work to fulfill an individual agenda, and on the [exploration of] each other s intentions in cloaked terms... [and the avoidance of] direct commitment (Finlayson 342). Chaucer rejuvenates the fabliau s structure, which allows the Merchant, his wife, and the Monk to each assume the mercantile roles of borrower, lender, seller and purchaser of goods without seriously harming their relationships (Finlayson 343). As a result, the meaning of the tale is not embedded in the fulfillment of norms of this genre, but in its displacement of these conventions by focus on the exchanges between the characters. John Finlayson points out that since licit and illicit sex are paralleled with honest and dishonest trade... [The Shipman s Tale] only recognizes the non ideal world of suspended moral laws, lustful hedonism and deceit , thus establishing the immoral series of events between the Monk, the Merchant, and his wife as an acceptable reality (349). • 25. The Pros And Cons Of Evaporation Evaporation is the process that changes liquids into gases. When a liquid is heated, it becomes a gas and spreads into the atmosphere, or the surrounding air. Liquids becomes gases by adding thermal energy to them. Thermal energy is the amount of energy any matter has because of the moving particles, molecules and atoms, inside it. The lakes, rivers, and oceans evaporate when the sun comes out and heats them up. The molecules from the bodies of water rise from Earth s surface into the surrounding atmosphere. Even small puddles of water can evaporate when the sun comes out and warms them. Let s explore heat and evaporation. When you see a pot of water boiling on the stove, you see steam coming out of the pot and going into the surrounding air. The steam is called water vapor, and it s created by the heating of the water. The heat applied to the water gives the molecules in the water more energy, which makes the molecules move around faster, and escape into the atmosphere. When molecules of water evaporate, heat from the object they evaporated from goes with them into the air. The heat is called latent heat, and it s inside the water molecules. This also lowers the temperature of the object the heat came from. Evaporative cooling is when an object cools down because of evaporation. When you exercise and it s hot outside, your body sweats. When your body sweats, evaporation causes the water on your body, or the sweat, to eventually evaporate, or rise into the air. This action

Comparing Tristram To Isolt And The Love-Drink In love stories like Romeo and Juliet, the main theme in the story is that sometimes love is worth dying for if it is true and pure, and Shakespeare focused on writing a play in which that theme was made obvious. In the case of Tristan and Iseult, there are many versions of their love story. Most versions result in their deaths because they cannot live without the other; however, some versions leave one of the two alive. Although there are many different versions, they all tell a story similar to the ones before it. In Tristram to Isolt and The Love Drink, both authors tell the story of Tristan and Iseult, yet both have differences like their plot and diction in order to emphasize different, distinct themes. Both stories use a different plot scheme which highlights the different themes that each author hoped to draw attention to. Implication of Costume Design Choices in Staging Marlowe s Doctor Faustus An effective costume engages the audience s attention and enhances the production and the actor s performance: (1) it visually defines and supports the character developed by the actor, and (2) it helps establish the overall theme and mood of the production as interpreted by the director. An effective costume speaks to the audience s subconscious store of knowledge and experience, helping them to identify the individual characters even before they speak and even if they are silent. The Magic Garment (Cunningham 2) The most first and most important step in designing costumes for a show is to discuss the overall artistic vision of the show with the director. Interpretation of the text and the resulting goal of the production will guide the artistic design of the show, from the set and costumes to props and acting. Eleanor Fuchs essay EF s Visit to a Small Planet: Or Some Questions to Ask of a Play provides an analytical framework that can be applied to any play to help determine the nature of this interpretation. When this framework is applied to Marlowe s The Tragical History of Doctor Faustus, it is possible to consider how design elements, such as costumes, might change the overall audience interpretation of the play. Design choices provide details that aren t specified in the text alone, which can direct not only the audience s overall interpretation of the show, but also their

However, none of that would happen without a stadium. Stadiums and teams can play a very important role in a cities economy, or they could also be irrelevant. To decide whether or not they are useful or not you must first understand each side of the argument. So first, let s examine the pros of having a stadiumwithin your city. Then, we will discuss the harms of having one. And finally, decide which side is more beneficial for the economy. Proponents of subsidizing sports stadiums is a great decision because the economic impact it will have on the community is great for two main reasons. First, sports stadiums are massive construction projects. In fact, one could compare them to a medieval cathedral in their attempts to dominate a skyline and inspire pride in one s city And, just like these cathedrals, they are very expensive, and massive building projects that would require many years of hard painstaking labor. For example, the proposed stadium for the Los Angeles Rams in Inglewood, California, was predicted to cost $3 billion and add 22,000 construction jobs to the economy of Los Angeles, California. Although construction jobs do eventually disappear once a stadium is constructed once the games begin, so does the massive consumer spending. For example, more than 3.5 million people saw the St. Louis Cardinals play at Busch Stadium in 2015.

Garland believes the Gospel of Mark either came from an oral story circulating in the Jerusalem church or it came from a firsthand account of the Apostle Peter. Some bible scholars point to the idea that the Gospelof Mark was narrativized, so it could be heard rather than be read silently. Bible scholar Robert Tannehill believes the Gospel of Markmay even have been collected and delivered orally before it was ever written down. Michael Licona believes if a certain text appears in all three Synoptics, the Gospel of Mark is the most likely source for Matthew and Luke s accounts. Licona notes that this rule should not be held hard and fast, since Mark may also have been using an oral story while Matthew and Luke choose another source or omitted material where it differs in each of their Gospel s. The Apostle Peter seems to be the eyewitness account which Mark narrates into a single unified story, which centers around a single central figure Jesusand a group of His closest companions. If the author of Mark was using an oral story to write his gospel from, this would definitely explain its narrative style. Some other evidence which points to the Gospel Mark being an oral story being written down is its brevity and action where the other gospels such as Luke, which is longer having 24 chapters of more and 1,100 versus. Overview of Quality Systems and Costs Quality Systems and Costs Preventive and corrective actions are very similar concepts in a quality control system, as both are geared towards ensuring that flaws or deviations from standard products are fixed such that the company does not pass lesser quality products to consumers or spent unnecessary sums in fixing problems after the fact (Quality Progress, 2012). There is an essential difference between preventive and corrective action, however; the former refers to proactive actions that take place before problems are encountered actions that prevent flaws/deviations /etc. while corrective actions are taken after the afct to ensure that an observed error in a system is not repeated and that the fewest possible amount of output is affected by the system error these actions correct problems that lead to flaws/deviations/etc (Quality Progress, 2012).
