Entitlement. It seems that every American youth believes that they are entitled to call themselves an
American. They believe just since they were born in America they hold the right to call themselves
Americans. I believe however, that the right of citizenship must be earned. I believe such is true after
watching, the movie Starship Troopers. In this sci fi movie people are given the choice to become a
citizen by serving two years in the Federal Service. This does not imply military occupations, but
instead offers a wide variety of different jobs. Civilians (non citizens) must serve a two year minimum
service to their country to receive the right to vote, but once they have finished the service they
receive pretty nice benefits. In modern America I believe this can be accomplished with a minimum of
1 year of national mandatory service.
When people hear mandatory service they instantly believe that they will have to serve in the military,
but they are wrong. Just this year alone, 5.78 million jobs will go unfilled in America, and almost all
of those are outside of the military. Though in the Movie Starship troopers the military is the most
glorified (and so it should be in modern America), they do not fail to mention how there are many
other government jobs that people could fill, and all the while they are making their nation a stronger

Few people are going to openly admit to being prejudice against people of other races, gender, and

Henri Tajfel, a social psychologist, proposed that the groups which people belonged to are an

A methodological framework was necessary to organise the project in a systematic and rigorous way
however this methodological framework must be underpinned by a conceptual framework
(Denscombe, 2010), which represents my preferred approach to this inquiry. This framework supposes
that firstly, metacognition holds lifelong value for the pupils and will improve their enjoyment and

reasons for the decline in enjoyment of lessons from year 7 to year 8, a case study would be the
