AASB 15
According to the research, Accounting standards exist to facilitate the preparation of high quality and
consistent general purpose financial statements to convey the useful information about the general
financial condition and results related to reporting entities, such as companies, non profit corporations
and governments. And Australia adopted International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) in 2005,
as directed by the Financial Reporting Council in its 2002 directive to the AASB. The Australian
Accounting Standards Board has published AASB 15 Revenue from Contracts and Customers, the
Australian equivalent of its international namesake, IFRS 15. And the purpose of the new Standards is
to provide (except in relation to some specific exceptions, such as lease contracts and insurance
contracts) a single source of accounting requirements for all contracts with customers, thereby
replacing all current accounting pronouncements on revenue.
The steps of AASB 15 can be divided into the following five points which are step1: identify the
contract(s) with the customer, step 2: identify the distinct performance obligations, step 3: determine
the transaction price, step 4: allocate the transaction price to the performance obligations and step 5:
recognize revenue when (or as) a performance obligation is satisfied

Discipleship In The Gospels Of John And Luke-Acts
Each of the four Gospels contains points in ecclesiology. In the Great Commission, Jesus last
instruction to the Apostles is to go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing and teaching people
(Matthew 28:19 20). For Jesus mission to continue and for his Church to grow, discipleship is
necessary. Discipleship is a prominent theme in all four Gospels, for purposes of this essay, only the
Gospels of John and Luke Acts will be analyzed. The similarities regarding discipleship in these
Gospels include images of the net and fishing, and the sheep/shepherd/sheepfold. The differences
include the preparing of the Twelve to carry on Jesus ministry in Luke, and service to the community
and passing of authority in John s Gospel. According to Matera, Luke Acts is a well defined set of
time periods. The Gospel is considered the time of Jesus and Acts is the time of the Church. The time
of Jesus in Luke s Gospel foreshadows the Church (Matera, 7). As stated in Stanton, Luke set out the
story of Jesus as a prelude to the story of the origin and growth of the early Church (Stanton, 80).
John, on the other hand, focuses on Christology and the teachings of Jesus to the community (Matera,
9). Both Gospels contain strong references to discipleship, which form the basis for the Church.
In both Luke and John, fishing and the image of the net allude to discipleship. In Luke Chapter 5, the
disciples have fished all night and returned the next morning with nothing. Jesus tells them to put

Theme Of Incest In The Fall Of The House Of Usher
The discourse of incest is considered almost universally as taboo and so is the study of the phenomena
of sexual relations between closely related individuals in its diverse manifestations. Literary texts at
length have tried to explore incest as social and psychological deviance but the discussion moves to
the margins of the narrative into unspoken or rather unspeakable territory. The mainstream discourse
prevents the writers from representing and speaking about the theme of incest explicitly. It remains
restricted to a marginal space and can be understood only through a deep exploration of the individual
characters and the narrative style of the text.
Edgar Allen Poe s short story The Fall of the House of Usher, published in 19th century indirectly
represents the incestuous love between Usher and his twin sister Madeline. The plot or the narrative
doesn t speak of the attraction at an external level. A similar relationship exists between Estha and

The Fall of the House of Usher, a 19th century Gothic short story indirectly deals with the theme of
incest between the protagonist Roderick Usher and his twin sister Madeline. The author takes the
utmost care not to mention the term anywhere in the text but rather conveys it through the description
of the extraordinary nature of their family.
I had learned, too, the very remarkable fact, that the stem of the Usher race, all time honoured as it
was , had put forth, at no period, any enduring branch; in other words, that the entire family lay in
their direct line of descent, and had always, very trifling and very temporary variation, so lain.

No Heroes, No Villains By Steven Phillips
In the short book of No Heroes, No Villains by Steven Phillips On June 28, 1972, a Transit Authority
patrolman, John Skagen, was on his way home from testifying at court for an arrest he made a couple
of weeks prior. Skagen was taking the train home to the Bronx when he saw and stopped James
Richardson who was awaiting the subway train which would take him to work at Lincoln Hospital.
Skagen ordered him to put up your hands, and get against the wall . Skagen s actions seem
unprovoked and unnecessary. After a short tussle the two men exchanged shots and Richardson fled
the scene on foot. Two other officers that were on the main street above the subway station rushed to
the scene. As they approached the entrance of the station, Richardson who was fleeing the scene ran
directly into one of the officers. One of the officer noticed Richardson was shot and attempted to stop
Richardson. The other officer continued down into the subway and witnesses Skagen holding his gun
and pointing it towards him, the officer emptied his gun into Skagen who was able to let off one round
prior to the officer shooting him. Richardson was later apprehended and taken to the emergency room
for his wounds. His gun was also retrieved. Skagen was rushed to the same hospital emergency room
where he was pronounced dead. Richardson confessed to shooting Skagen and revealed that there
were only four rounds exchanged between the two men. Skagen s autopsy revealed that he had been

Are Prescribed Burns Good Or Bad
Are Prescribed burns good or bad? Before I start let me explain what Prescribed burning is it is the
process of selecting an area of land and applying fire that is controlled to that area to reduce the risk of
a bigger fire in the future. Okay back to the question. The answer to the question depends on your
viewpoint about the matter. Some people believe that it is the best option in the long run but others
believe that it is unnecessary and that it is dangerous. But if we stop doing prescribed burns we have a
greater risk of bigger and more dangerous fires. Why should we have prescribed burns? Prescribed
burns decrease waste in forests that can be hazardous fuels for fires. They promote the growth of trees,

MBA 680 Corporate Financial Theory

Valuation Methodology
The valuation of NABR Publishing Ltd encompassed an extensive amount of exercise, and the
valuation required taking into consideration various factors. The Discounted Cash Flow (DCF)
method was used to value the NABR Firm. The DCF Method utilizes the net present value of future
free cash flow projections and discounts the cash flow at a discount rate which was calculated using
two of three options. In turn, this was done using the Weighted Average Cost of Capital (WACC). The
motive for using WACC to get the discount rate is to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Debt and Equity Valuation
This valuation of NABR was based on equity and debt resulting in the financial value of the firm, and
connects with the value of the firm s asset. By using the DCF method, the total fair market value of
the business entity is calculated by discounting future projected cash flows back to the date of
valuation. At the end of the projection period, a residual or terminal value is calculated and discounted
to its present value at the date of the valuation. The theory behind the discounted cash flow method is
that an entity s value is equal to its present value of its expected future cash flow. This method is
considered the most detailed analysis because it is thorough in nature and aids the owner to get a true
picture of the firm value. This consists of certain steps which involve developing a method to be used
to project future earnings of cash flow, a risk adjusted discount rate, discounting the projected cash
flow to the date of the valuation, and capitalizing the terminal year s projection into a residual value
using the discount rate less the growth rate. In this case, we estimated the growth rate of 2.3%, and the
summation of the present values of the discounted cash flows and terminal value.
This method is the most precise method in comparison to the Venture Capitalist method despite the
notion that there is an uncertainty of cash flow projections. Using WACC to calculate the discount rate
assisted in the calculation of the

Essay on Shakespeare’s Sonnet 73
Interpretation of Shakespeare s Sonnet 73
Sonnet 73 is a meditation on mortality, and yet it can be interpreted in a number of ways. The first
such interpretation is that the author of the poem is speaking to someone else about his own death that
will inevitably come in the future. This interpretation has the poem focused on the author, and his
focus and concern over himself. This makes him seem very selfish, because we are all going to die
sooner or later, and it does not do any good to dwell on or complain about it. The only use that this
interpretation really has is to evoke pity in the author, or the speaker of the Sonnet.
That is why it was this interpretation of Sonnet 73 that was used in a 1996 production of ... Show more

In Shakespeare case, with all the talk about him and young men, he could be writing about any one of
the Earls that he was involved with.
Another interpretation of Sonnet #73 is that instead of the Sonnet focusing on death, the theme of the
Sonnet is the passing of youth. The Sonnet also twists in its view at the couplet, it goes from being
about the speaker s life to the addressee s life. This interpretation is from a note in the June 1948
Explicator. In the article R.M. Lumiansky argues that the young person to whom the poem is
addressed must inevitably grow old and experience those things which the poet says, in the three
quatrains, he is experiencing in his old age. So the focus is on the death of youth, and in the Sonnet,
using the metaphor of the changing of seasons very adeptly, attributes this characteristic to the
speaker, but more poignantly to the person being addressed being as how they are not yet in the fall of
their life. In an article by John S. Prince, he says that the key to understanding the Sonnet lies in the
interpretation of that in the final line of the Sonnet. The problem with the common interpretation of
the Sonnet, which insists on the consistency of the speaker s mortality as the topic, is the grammar of
this final clause contradicts it. Why, if the speaker

1. What is the likely level of MCI s external financing needs over the next several years?
Based on the Exhibit 9A in the case, we can calculate the Source and Use of Funds. As Exhibit 1
suggests, the company require about $4.8 billion during 1984 and 1990. This is basically due to the
required new capex during the same period, which will be accumulated to $10.2 billion, and the
increase of cash holding, $2.0 billion, as a use of funds and the company can generate funds from
operation, only $7.8 billion. Therefore, the company needs to fill the gap by sourcing external finance
of about $4.8 billion. This amount will vary depending primarily on two factors; 1) whether MCI can

What Role Did Wu Zetian Play In Confucianism
In the feudal era of China, when Confucianism played a dominant role in human thoughts and was the
measure for all ethical standards, so that a woman became the Emperor, holding power absolutely

ancient times. People also appreciate Wu Zetian due to her way to use people and contribution to the
prosperity of Tang culture. However, she left bad reputation by abusing power and killing innocent

I realize she has the following advantages:
Firstly, she knew how to use her strengths absolutely, they were glamourous beauty, wisdom intellect,
cunning so as to expand her political power. All made her standing rose quickly and finally the most
honorable position the Emperor.
Secondly, she was ahead of its time. In Confucianism society to value men above women , she

Tube Feeding a Risk Factor for Dementia Patients
As Dementia patients are clinically faced with multiple risk factors they can also encounter the
possibility of losing the ability to intake food. With such symptoms taking a toll on one s body it is at
times when family members can often become responsible for decision making situations. In James

Researchers have come to a conclusion that the use of artificial feeding is controversial as cited in
(Alvarez Fernandez, Garcia Ordonez, Martinez Manzanares Gomez Huelgas, 2005, p. 6). Based off on
research (Alvarez Fernandez, et al, 2005) administered a study towards patients that were 65 or older
with advanced Dementia. Within the study were 67 patients whom had advanced Dementia in which
some had other complications such as kidney failure, diabetes, and heart failure. A constant repeated
appearance on some patients was Pneumonia which only complicated the situation. Initially, the
results showed that tube feeding reduces survival in patients with advanced Dementia as well as the
fact that it increases the risk of complications such as the ones mentioned, pneumonia and urinary tract
infections (Alvarez Fernandez, et al., 2005). With that being said this comes to show how at times
such situations lead to decision making which might be against what everyone is convinced is right
and wrong for a loved one, as seen in James situation and his decision against on tube feeding his
mother. At the end, medical care will only keep on changing within time and serious reflection should
be given to the goals to be sought in end of life care (Alvarez Fernandez, et al.,

The Half Brothers By Elizabeth Gaskell and My Oedipus...
The Half Brothers By Elizabeth Gaskell and My Oedipus Complex By Frank O Connor
These two stories are very different upon first glance. For example one is about a pair of half brothers
set in Victorian times and the other is about a small child named Larry who thinks he s a lot wiser then
he is. However, if you look deeper you can start to find similarities between the two. They have
similar themes, and links can be made between them.
A big difference between them is the titles. For example The Half
Brothers is a very self evident title but My Oedipus Complex is a little more obscure. My Oedipus
Complex is ironic because although
Larry does have a strong attachment to his mother it is an exaggeration to call it an ... Show more

For example in The Half
Brothers William Preston begs God for forgiveness after realising how wrongly he had treated
Gregory and in My Oedipus Complex Larry and his father forgive each other because they are in the
same situation at the end of the story. Using the theme of forgiveness in stories that also have the
theme of jealousy makes the reader feel that everything must come to an end whether it is good or bad
because forgiveness is an end to jealousy and also to both stories.
There is also a less obvious theme in the stories of religion. For example we heard mass at St
Augustine s and said a prayer for father in My Oedipus Complex and God s will be done in The Half
Brothers . This use of religion in the stories sets the period as nowadays most people are not very
religious. It shows that in the past
God was very important to the average person and had a big influence on their lives and the decisions
they made.
Reasons for some of the differences between the stories may be because they were written and set in
very different periods. For example The
Half Brothers was set in Victorian times when it was also written but
My Oedipus Complex was set just after the First World War but written much later then that. This
makes the authors present the themes in very different ways. Frank O Connor is more light hearted in
his presentation of jealousy whereas Elizabeth Gaskell is definitely more morbid and

Mexican Dictator Porfirio Diaz
From 1877 to 1910, Mexico was under the iron rule of one man, Gen. Porfirio Diaz. Gen. Diaz had
brought order to Mexico. He expropriated Church lands, opened Mexico to foreign investment, and
encouraged the development of commercial agriculture and the building of railways and industry. In
many ways, the Porfiriato brought prosperity to Mexico. But this prosperity was not equally shared.
The Diaz regime worked with the hacendados, powerful, semi feudal landowners, to seize land held
communally by Native Americans, to add to their estates. Just 3% of the population owned 95% of

that will be discussed throughout this essay are To uphold the ideal of Australian as a tolerant and fair

Evidence will be explored that shows Australia is committed to being a fair, tolerant society and an

My Personal Statement Of The Goal Of Education
My Philosophy
I believe that the goal of education is to help students be able to survive and thrive in the real world. I
believe that the role of the teacher is make sure students understand the standards that are set, to help
them grow and to help them get through the school year. I believe that students should keep an open
mind, positive attitude towards school and help those around them. I believe that parents and
community members should help students with schoolwork, supplies and be involved in their
education. I believe that knowledge is power and it is what helps us to survive and thrive in any
situation.
My philosophy consists of student centered teaching. I will use constructivism for scaffolding and for
when beginning a subject. I would use progressivism so students can get to experience real world
situations and to foster their curiosity. I will use existentialism to help with their individuality and
leadership skills. Social Reconstructionism will help with their confidence to face challenges and to
further their social skills. Every student needs to be rewarded and disciplined to keep a calm and fair
environment.
I will start off with having the students explain to me signs they already know or what they have come
up with themselves. It will help me to see where we are starting off at and what are our strong suits.
This is how I will begin any lesson on a new set of signs where they will tell me all the animals they
already know. Then I will start over with all the animals and repeat the animal signs over. I will use
scaffolding, for example, by explaining that the sign for a cat looks like your petting a cat this will
give them something to associate it with. The students will start to get into groups and have
conversations with each other. For example, one student can spell out the animal, while the other does
the sign for the word. This will help them with working and being social with others. Once they know
a certain amount of signs and we have covered the basics. I will ask the class as a whole what signs
they would like to learn and would be beneficial to them. If the class wants to learn about activities
like driving, swimming and more. I will go over as many as I can to teach them

My True Friend
True friends are like flawless diamonds, very valuable and hard to come by. We all have had or still

are the ones that last forever just like diamonds. Lucky for me I unearthed a rather rare diamond
amongst the many cubic zirconia named Jasmine Frazier. Jasmine and I became acquainted with each
other when we were in the fourth grade. She was the funniest, caring, and most protective person I
have ever meet and these three traits were what made her a friend like no other.
First, Jasmine was my rather adorable, brown skinned, curly haired best friend since we were in the

after just one glance, and had a sense of humor like no other. Both pupils and teachers alike enjoyed
her company and liveliness. There was hardly ever a dull moment when she was around with her
funny quips and expressions. For example, whenever she would tell a joke, there wouldn t be a dried
eye left in the room.
Next, Jasmine has a very amiable personality and I learned that in the when we were in the fifth grade.
She was always there for me through good times and especially bad times. For example, there was this

Richard II is the first play of Shakespeare s four part
History Tetraology. It tells the story of Richard II s deposition and Bolingbroke s rise to power. There
are numerous reasons for Richard s fall. He went off to war and left his kingdom vaulnerable. Richard
disregarded the advice of his elders. He even went so far as to steal Bolingbroke s inheritance. As
Richard lost the support of the nobles and lords, Bolingbroke gained their support. Bolingbroke used
this support to depose king Richard II.
After the banishment of Bolingbroke, Richard quickly gets back to business and makes plans to go to
war in Ireland. There are rebels in Ireland and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The bad omen immediately seems to come true. Upon Richard s seizure of Gaunt s land,
Northumberland, Ross, and Willoughby all decide to turn against him. This action also spurs his loyal
uncle York to begin a process of self questioning that will eventually lead him to Bolingbroke s side.
In scene 2 of act 2 Green enters with news that Bolingbroke has landed in England and has an army
with him. This is unfortunate news for Richard, since he is in Ireland with his royal army and no one
is present in England to challenge Bolingbroke. The bad news doesn t stop there. As Bolingbroke
marched across England, many other English lords have joined his army. Northumberland, his son
Henry Percy, Lord Ross, Lord Willoughby, and other lords have defected. In Act 3 Lord Salisbury
enters and delivers even more bad news to Richard. The day before, Richard s army of Wales heard
that Richard was dead. They dispersed and fled to Bolingbroke s side. Richard now must deal with the
fact that he has no army. Act 3 is a point of no turning back for Bolingbroke. Bushy and Green, two of
Richard s most loyal followers, are executed. This demonstrates the escalation of events that could
lead to war. Richard s followers have either left his side or have been killed. Bolingbroke is left with
no choice but to continue his path towards the throne. In scene 4 of act 3, Queen Isabel learns the truth
of what is happening. She overhears gardeners talking

Imperatively, President Woodrow Wilson envisioned a world parliament which was exerted at the
Paris Peace Conference. However, the non existent relationship between United States and the League
of Nations was a vital decision in which lead to the failure of the League of Nations and the uprising
of another world war. The key element of the creation of the League of Nations was that nations
should summon and solve major issues through discussion rather than war. Its purpose was to
strengthen international relations and improve cooperation among foreign powers, ultimately creating
an atmosphere fostering world peace. Conversely, U.S Congress hesitated to join threatened by the
policy of isolationism. The belief that the League would endanger

Protons And Neutrons
Atoms are made up of electrons, protons and neutrons. Protons have positive charge; electrons have
negative charge and neutrons are neutral. The magnitude of charges of protons and neutrons is the
same. Protons and neutrons are found in the nucleus, while the electrons moves around it. Mass
number is addition of the protons and neutrons. Atomic number is the number of protons. [1] The
mass of an atom is less than the number we obtain by adding up the masses of all the protons and
neutrons. This is the binding energy. The nucleus of an atom determines if it is stable or unstable. The
higher the binding energy, the more stable an atom is. Unstable nuclei are radioactive, where they
decay until they form stable nuclei. They emit different particles to form more stable daughter nuclei.

Alpha particles are composed of 2 protons and also 2 neutrons. It has a plus 2 charge. They are the
nucleus of a helium atom. When an unstable nuclei releases an alpha particle, the mass number
decreases by 4, and the atomic number decreases by 2. This means that a new element forms due to
this emission. Alpha particles are released by relatively large nuclei. [3] It can travel across the air,
however does not travel well in solid. Alpha particles are able to ionize the solid that it is passing
through. [4] Beta particles occurs when an unstable nuclei emits an electron, which has a negative
charge. To conserve the charges in the atom, one of the neutrons in the nucleus spontaneously changes
into a proton. The mass number stays the same, however, the atomic number increases by 1. [3] This
also means that a new element forms. It can travel through air and compared to alpha particles, they
can penetrate through solid matter more, however its ionization ability is less than the alpha particles.

Comparing Gilgamesh And Book Of Genesis
After closely reading the Sumerians story of the flood in the Epic of Gilgamesh and the Hebrew story
of the flood in the Book of Genesis, it is clearly seen that these two stories have obvious similarities.
While there are many differences as well both of the stories help to explain the relationship the ancient
people had with their Gods. In the Book of Genesis and in the Epic of Gilgamesh many similarities
can be seen. First similarity is seen when God or several gods as in Gilgamesh deciding to destroy all
humankind because of its evil and Wickedness (Genesis 6:5). Here in both stories it is shown that the
God/Gods regretted making human beings and all of the other species as well and would do whatever
to fix their mistake. Second,

Microsoft s Windows 8 Product Launch
In order to gleam through the Microsoft s Windows 8 product launch, we need to understand and
analyze the firm as a system of interconnected choices1, which details the organizational fit, where
these choices reflect the firm s capabilities, corporate formal structures, activities, policies and
resources. Internal/External fit among choices and activities of the firm can lead to a sustainable
competitive advantage in the market place because it makes imitation difficulty. But on the other hand
the complex tight fit makes the navigational challenges for the firm, because of the change in
industry/environment may negate the value of the firm but their survival will be questioned. In the
case of Microsoft, the launch of Windows 8 OS was the first official and bold reaction to Apple s iPad

Analysis Of The Movie Rogue One
The primary source that is being analyzed in this paper is a trailer for the upcoming Star Wars film,
Rogue One. It was released in early April by Lucasfilm and Disney. While the actual movie doesn t
drop until December 16, the trailers people have seen so far display quite a lot about the theme,
attitude and how dark the upcoming film will be. These few pages of rhetorical analysis will mainly
focus on how much darker Rogue One will be and how that compares to and changes the previous
films and media. Before getting to deep into the analysis of the trailer, it is important for people who
are not very familiar with the terminology of Star Wars know the basics of the universe. Rogue One
will take place during the third and fourth films. The two main factions are the Rebellion, who are
painted as the true heroes of the movies, and the Empire, who are shown to be an evil regime in the
galaxy. The Empire has constructed a superweapon called the Death Star, which has the firepower to
destroy a planet in one use of its weapon. This weapon is unknown to most of the galaxy, but the
Rebellion knows of its existence. It is also important to distinguish that there are many new characters
to the franchise in this film. First of which is a woman named Jyn Erso. She is given a brief
description in the beginning of the trailer. Mon Mothma describes her as reckless, aggressive, and
undisciplined . In addition to this, Jyn is said to have a fairly long criminal record, including assault

The phrase he put in title of the story A Very Old Man remind me the religion and in fact, Christianity

Automation levels will be increased to improve margins and to offset second shift/overtime costs.
Mission Statement
Reliable products for low technology customers: Our brands offer value. Our stakeholders are
bondholders, stockholders, customers and management.
Tactics
Research Development: We will concentrate our existing product line into the Low End and
Traditional segments. The traditional product will migrate to the Low End segment. The High product
will migrate to the Traditional segment. During the early years we will migrate (gradually) our
Performance and Size segment products to the Traditional segment. We can also introduce a new
product to work in the Traditional market.
Marketing: Initially we will attempt to keep pace with the awareness and accessibility of our
competitors products. After we establish our cost leadership position we will revisit our situation to
decide whether sales and promotion budgets should be reduced or if we should continue to match our
competitors. Our prices will be lower than average.
Production: We will significantly increase automation levels on our products. However, because
automation sets limits upon our ability to reposition products with R D, we will postpone automation
for the High End and Size products until they arrive in the Traditional Segment. We will prefer second
shift/overtime to capacity expansions.

Klosterman s piece, The Pretenders, isn t so much about Axl Rose himself, but is focusing on the

of these essays, the authors have drastic tone shifts that greatly add to the messages within the pieces.

In Survivor, the players are constantly under a great amount of stress. The different types of stress can
have a huge impact on how they end up playing the game. For example, physical stressors, such as
food deprivation, also alter psychological factors such as motivation and irritability, and can increase
impulsive and aggressive behavior (Gerrig 75). In other words, the toll of physical stress can lead to
more aggressive and more impulsive players as well as affecting the players moods. Throughout every
episode there is some form of aggression. Wilson found four different types of aggression and labelled
them as, theft, verbal aggression, minor aggression, and deceit (9). He defines each type of aggression,
saying,
Theft was defined as taking the property of another person without the owner s consent or knowledge
(e.g., robbery, burglary, and larceny). Verbal aggression was any nonphysical act that places another
under duress with the intention to pressure, constrain, or persuade in a noxious manner (e.g., extortion,

Family Structure And Structure Of The British Family
Introduction.
Family is the fundamental unit of society. The concept and structure of the British family has seen a
change over the last 50 years. These changes have culminated in the decay of marriage and therefore
the rise of cohabitation, new forms of family composition and the delay of parenthood, thus, making
traditional nuclear family less stable than in previous generations (Jenkins et al. 2009).
The aim of this essay is of great importance as it will look at important decades since the second world
war and will give a general understanding of the actual family structure trend in the UK. It also aims
to discuss the changes and impact of these on children, policies and legislation, government, and
society in general. Changes in British family throughout the last 50 years
Aggregate Changes in Household Composition.
Late decades have seen considerable changes here which clearly point out to notions of new lifestyles,
not minimum the trend to autonomous living, and to new family patterns.
Table 1. Irwin (2000).
The most noticeable changes are the raise in the extent of one person households, and in the extent of
lone parent families. In 1996 7 more than one fourth of households comprise one individual living
alone, twice the extent of 1961. The extent of families involving a couple family with dependent
children has fallen from 38% in 1961 to 25% in 1996 7 (Irwin, 2000).

think that the private sector will be able to support the economy and will be reinforced, in spite of the

History And Historical Context Of The Old Testament
The history of how the Bible came into existence has been explored for centuries and is an active area
of study today. There are many facets to the Bible and each has its own set of unique characteristics
and teachings. The Old Testament is considered a contemporary guide for daily living, even though it
was composed hundreds of years ago. Where did the Old Testament come from? What are some of the
influences that shaped the Old Testament? What are the significant events of the Old Testament? In
order to gain a better understanding of the Old Testament and its message to Christians, special
consideration is given to its historical and cultural context, and to the major milestones in its
development. Personal application of the teachings offered in this section of the Bible should be the
aspiration of all Christians today.
Cultural and Historical Context of the Old Testament An understanding of Israel s history and
geography is necessary for proper interpretation of the Old Testament. The Middle East provided the
setting for the events recorded in the Old Testament, specifically Mesopotamia, Egypt, and Syria
Palestine. This area lies along the Tigris and Euphrates rivers in Mesopotamia up to the Persian Gulf.
This area was the cradle of civilization and the scene of God s activities as recorded in the Old
Testament. The majority of the events take place in Palestine, the ancient land of Canaan, though at
times the Israelites lived in Egypt and Babylon. This is

And Australia adopted International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) in 2005, as directed by the Financial Reporting Council in its 2002 directive to the AASB. • 3. Discipleship In The Gospels Of John And Luke-Acts Each of the four Gospels contains points in ecclesiology. In the Great Commission, Jesus last instruction to the Apostles is to go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing and teaching people (Matthew 28:19 20). For Jesus mission to continue and for his Church to grow, discipleship is necessary. Discipleship is a prominent theme in all four Gospels, for purposes of this essay, only the Gospels of John and Luke Acts will be analyzed. The similarities regarding discipleship in these Gospels include images of the net and fishing, and the sheep/shepherd/sheepfold. The differences include the preparing of the Twelve to carry on Jesus ministry in Luke, and service to the community and passing of authority in John s Gospel. According to Matera, Luke Acts is a well defined set of time periods. The Gospel is considered the time of Jesus and Acts is the time of the Church. The time of Jesus in Luke s Gospel foreshadows the Church (Matera, 7). As stated in Stanton, Luke set out the story of Jesus as a prelude to the story of the origin and growth of the early Church (Stanton, 80). John, on the other hand, focuses on Christology and the teachings of Jesus to the community (Matera, 9). Both Gospels contain strong references to discipleship, which form the basis for the Church. In both Luke and John, fishing and the image of the net allude to discipleship. In Luke Chapter 5, the disciples have fished all night and returned the next morning with nothing. Jesus tells them to put ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Theme Of Incest In The Fall Of The House Of Usher The discourse of incest is considered almost universally as taboo and so is the study of the phenomena of sexual relations between closely related individuals in its diverse manifestations. Literary texts at length have tried to explore incest as social and psychological deviance but the discussion moves to the margins of the narrative into unspoken or rather unspeakable territory. The mainstream discourse prevents the writers from representing and speaking about the theme of incest explicitly. It remains restricted to a marginal space and can be understood only through a deep exploration of the individual characters and the narrative style of the text. Edgar Allen Poe s short story The Fall of the House of Usher, published in 19th century indirectly represents the incestuous love between Usher and his twin sister Madeline. No Heroes, No Villains By Steven Phillips In the short book of No Heroes, No Villains by Steven Phillips On June 28, 1972, a Transit Authority patrolman, John Skagen, was on his way home from testifying at court for an arrest he made a couple of weeks prior. Skagen was taking the train home to the Bronx when he saw and stopped James Richardson who was awaiting the subway train which would take him to work at Lincoln Hospital. Skagen ordered him to put up your hands, and get against the wall . Skagen s actions seem unprovoked and unnecessary. After a short tussle the two men exchanged shots and Richardson fled the scene on foot. Two other officers that were on the main street above the subway station rushed to the scene. As they approached the entrance of the station, Richardson who was fleeing the scene ran directly into one of the officers. One of the officer noticed Richardson was shot and attempted to stop Richardson. The other officer continued down into the subway and witnesses Skagen holding his gun and pointing it towards him, the officer emptied his gun into Skagen who was able to let off one round prior to the officer shooting him. Richardson was later apprehended and taken to the emergency room for his wounds. His gun was also retrieved. Skagen was rushed to the same hospital emergency room where he was pronounced dead. Before I start let me explain what Prescribed burning is it is the process of selecting an area of land and applying fire that is controlled to that area to reduce the risk of a bigger fire in the future. Some people believe that it is the best option in the long run but others believe that it is unnecessary and that it is dangerous. Debt and Equity Valuation This valuation of NABR was based on equity and debt resulting in the financial value of the firm, and connects with the value of the firm s asset. By using the DCF method, the total fair market value of the business entity is calculated by discounting future projected cash flows back to the date of valuation. At the end of the projection period, a residual or terminal value is calculated and discounted to its present value at the date of the valuation. The theory behind the discounted cash flow method is that an entity s value is equal to its present value of its expected future cash flow. This method is considered the most detailed analysis because it is thorough in nature and aids the owner to get a true picture of the firm value. This consists of certain steps which involve developing a method to be used to project future earnings of cash flow, a risk adjusted discount rate, discounting the projected cash flow to the date of the valuation, and capitalizing the terminal year s projection into a residual value using the discount rate less the growth rate. In this case, we estimated the growth rate of 2.3%, and the summation of the present values of the discounted cash flows and terminal value. This method is the most precise method in comparison to the Venture Capitalist method despite the notion that there is an uncertainty of cash flow projections. Using WACC to calculate the discount rate assisted in the calculation of the

  • 10. Essay on Shakespeare’s Sonnet 73 Interpretation of Shakespeare s Sonnet 73 Sonnet 73 is a meditation on mortality, and yet it can be interpreted in a number of ways. The first such interpretation is that the author of the poem is speaking to someone else about his own death that will inevitably come in the future. This interpretation has the poem focused on the author, and his focus and concern over himself. This makes him seem very selfish, because we are all going to die sooner or later, and it does not do any good to dwell on or complain about it. The only use that this interpretation really has is to evoke pity in the author, or the speaker of the Sonnet. In Shakespeare case, with all the talk about him and young men, he could be writing about any one of the Earls that he was involved with. Another interpretation of Sonnet #73 is that instead of the Sonnet focusing on death, the theme of the Sonnet is the passing of youth. The Sonnet also twists in its view at the couplet, it goes from being about the speaker s life to the addressee s life. This interpretation is from a note in the June 1948 Explicator. In the article R.M. Lumiansky argues that the young person to whom the poem is addressed must inevitably grow old and experience those things which the poet says, in the three quatrains, he is experiencing in his old age. So the focus is on the death of youth, and in the Sonnet, using the metaphor of the changing of seasons very adeptly, attributes this characteristic to the speaker, but more poignantly to the person being addressed being as how they are not yet in the fall of their life. In an article by John S. Prince, he says that the key to understanding the Sonnet lies in the interpretation of that in the final line of the Sonnet. The problem with the common interpretation of the Sonnet, which insists on the consistency of the speaker s mortality as the topic, is the grammar of this final clause contradicts it. There is also a less obvious theme in the stories of religion. For example we heard mass at St Augustine s and said a prayer for father in My Oedipus Complex and God s will be done in The Half Brothers . This use of religion in the stories sets the period as nowadays most people are not very religious. I believe that the role of the teacher is make sure students understand the standards that are set, to help them grow and to help them get through the school year. I believe that students should keep an open mind, positive attitude towards school and help those around them. I believe that parents and community members should help students with schoolwork, supplies and be involved in their education. I believe that knowledge is power and it is what helps us to survive and thrive in any situation. My philosophy consists of student centered teaching. I will use constructivism for scaffolding and for when beginning a subject. I would use progressivism so students can get to experience real world situations and to foster their curiosity. I will use existentialism to help with their individuality and leadership skills. Social Reconstructionism will help with their confidence to face challenges and to further their social skills. Every student needs to be rewarded and disciplined to keep a calm and fair environment. I will start off with having the students explain to me signs they already know or what they have come up with themselves. It will help me to see where we are starting off at and what are our strong suits. This is how I will begin any lesson on a new set of signs where they will tell me all the animals they already know. It was released in early April by Lucasfilm and Disney. While the actual movie doesn t drop until December 16, the trailers people have seen so far display quite a lot about the theme, attitude and how dark the upcoming film will be. These few pages of rhetorical analysis will mainly focus on how much darker Rogue One will be and how that compares to and changes the previous films and media. This weapon is unknown to most of the galaxy, but the Rebellion knows of its existence. It is also important to distinguish that there are many new characters to the franchise in this film.
