Abraham Lincoln The Best President
The best United States president is Abraham Lincoln. A survey from 2014 by America Political
Science Association, voted Abraham Lincoln as the best U.S. president. (Washington Post, 1)
Abraham Lincoln freed the slaves, took care of the civil war, and was a civil rights activist. I think
he is the best president we have had because of these reasons.
During his time in office President Lincoln abolished slavery. Abraham Lincolnbecame the United
States 16th President in 1861, issuing the Emancipation Proclamation that declared forever free
those slaves within the Confederacy in 1863. (whitehouse, 2) Though Abraham Lincoln felt African
Americans were not equal to whites, he believed the America s founders intended that all men were
created with certain inalienable rights. (biography, 3) He fought for the rights of African Americans

dollars from the Treasury for war material without an appropriation from Congress; he called for
75,000 volunteers into military service without a declaration of war; and he suspended the writ of
habeas corpus, arresting and imprisoning suspected Confederate sympathizers without a warrant.
The Union Army s first year and a half of battlefield defeats made it especially difficult to keep
morale up and support strong for a reunification the nation. With the hopeful, but by no means
conclusive Union victory at Antietam on September 22, 1862, Lincoln felt confident enough to
reshape the cause of the war from saving the union to abolishing slavery. He issued the
Emancipation Proclamation on January 1, 1863, which stated that all individuals who were held as
slaves in rebellious states henceforward shall be free. The action was more symbolic than effective
because the North did not control any states in rebellion and the proclamation did not apply to

India Is A Land Known For Its Diversity
Introduction:
India is a land known for its diversity with respect to culture, languages, religions and cuisine.
Several dishes in the Indian cuisine find its roots delved deep into tradition and history. Examples
of these indigenous dishes include Paneer, Dahi, Avial and so on.
The dairy industry in India has grown tremendously in recent years post the success of the
Operation Flood Programme. This programme, which began in the 1970 s, was a noteworthy
event globally and the impact of this can be witnessed in the fact of India rising to the status of
being the leading producer of milk in the world. Out of the total milk produced in the country,
nearly 40 50% is converted into a variety of dairy products whose origins lie deeply rooted into
Indian tradition. The processes used to manufacture these products include heat and acid
coagulation, heat desiccation and fermentation. Paneer is one such product which is an indigenous
traditional type of fresh cheese prepared by heat acid coagulation of milk. Coagulation refers to the
formation of large structural protein aggregates where fat in milk and other colloidal and soluble
solids are entrapped with whey. The major protein present in milk that gets coagulated is casein.
Paneer is unsalted and unripened unlike several of its western counterparts such as Roquefort
cheese, Cheddar cheese and so on. It shares a few similarities with Tofu and western cottage cheese.
As with the entire food industry within the country, the

Kevin Hart Essay
For my research, I chose the comedian Kevin Hart. I chose Mr. Hart due to the fact that many of
his standup comedy acts appeal to me, and are relatable to my life. A lot of comedians create
humor at the expense of others, but Kevin Hart tends to keep it centered on his family, and events
that have happened in his life. I can relate to the events that he makes light of, and it makes it the
humormore appealing to me specifically. Both the fact that his home life, and his physical
appearance are the basis of his routines make more sense than some of the other standup comedy
acts I have observed. At this stage, I do not know much about Kevin Harts life, besides what he
has included in the sets that I ve watched. Some of the things that I have learned is that he had a
troubled childhood due to his father s life choices. His father was an addict, and had altercations
in bars, which Kevin witnessed and made jokes to deal with it. He also has two kids, a boy and a
girl, which sometimes are brought up in the standup sets, mostly at the expense of the children. The
majority of Kevin s appeal is centered around his height, which is a commonly referenced jokeboth
by himself, and others, which does not seem to bother him anymore if he is able to make light of
it himself. I think that the beginning of Mr. Hart s life is what led him to be a... Show more content

that would necessarily be hard to talk about, and social in the aspect that he was more than likely
made fun of growing up with his height and other unchangeable physical aspects, which he has
talked about before. These aspects are likely what formed his unique sense of humor that he uses
that led him to the branch of comedy that he performs. In order to prove my analysis, I will be

War In A Separate Peace
For me, this moment four years is a moment in history was the war. The war was and is a reality
for me. I still instinctively live and think in its atmosphere (32). This quote made by Gene
encapsulates the major role World War II plays in A Separate Peace. John Knowles, the author,
utilizes the war as a spectacular backdrop for his novel. In fact, without World War
II, this book
would just be another story lost in the churn of the millions of novels published. A Separate Peace,
which would lack an external conflict, have only a paucity of symbolisms and connections, and
suffer from a lack of explanation for many of the character s actions, would need to be completely
rewritten or scratched altogether. The absence of World War II would jeopardize

Three of the main characters, Gene, Brinker, and Leper would all dramatically change if there
was no war. Probably the most obvious of these characters who were impacted by the World War
II was Leper. The innocent of the class, Leper never knew what he was getting into when he
enlisted to ski in the war. Leper s life is then turned upside down, and he goes completely crazy.
Without the war, Leper s character would need to be developed in some alternative way. Brinker
also completely changes and manipulates his actions as a consequence of this war. Known
formerly as the most responsible, respectable leader on campus at Devon, Brinker morphs into a
character that seems particularly indifferent and downright rebellious. Knowles indirectly
characterizes him through Gene s thoughts, mentioning that Brinker the Lawgiver had turned
rebel for the Duration (122). It is very difficult for one to say that without the war, Brinker would
select the path of rebellion, rather than stay serious and have a possibly brighter future. Finally,
Gene is not only affected by his internal struggles but also the struggle that is going on overseas
as he completes his years at Devon. Like most things that happen in the protagonist s life, Gene is
never concrete on his stance or the following actions he should take on these. He desires to lose his
old, murky life in

Online Dating And Its Impact On The World
With the advancement of the Internet, we have seen many changes in the dating world. Hundreds
of applications and websites have been created in order to connect people locally and
internationally. Among these websites and applications are online dating tools. Online dating
began in 1995 when Match.com was created, and has grown significantly since. Millennials (the
generation born between the 1980 s and the mid 2000 s) were born into the digital revolution.
Growing up, we were more likely to text to ask for a date, rather than in person, or even over the
phone. Now that most Millennials are teenagers or older, datingapps have become the new norm.
With apps like OkCupid, Tinder, Grindr, and more, traditional dating values have gone out the door
to make room for online dating. The thing our parents knew as courting, rarely exists within the
Millennial generation. So, with all these knew dating tools, the question becomes: Has online
dating actually affected how Millennials date?
Literary Review In our research about online dating and the effect it has had on how Millennials
date, we found that there were some common ideas among writers. Because our topic is
relatively new, finding actual journals or research studies were hard. We decided to focus mostly
on articles written for big name websites like Forbes and Time. The first things we decided to look
at were the statistics of online dating. Online dating began in 1995 when Match.com was created.

U.s. War On Terrorism Essay
The United States vision of and for the world changed dramatically, and perhaps permanently, on
September 11, 2001. The aftermath frightened and impacted the nation s reputation, and in order
to measure the nature and extent of our policies, it is important to understand our efforts after this
national attack on US soil. Many interesting documents released earlier that year provides a
detailed perspective of America s economic policies and actions towards the War on Terror. The
U.S. came out with a massive debt that has impacted the nation in several ways, but this leads to a
basic question with a complex answer: How did the U.S. War on Terrorismimpact the American
Debt Crisis? After researching further into the 9/11 attacks, clearly most of the money put into
the war was wasted or misspent. Even though it was crucial going after the terrorists, especially
since they had taken many lives and were capable to repeating their attack caused fear throughout
the nation. It is important to signal out that the U.S. was attacked from a terrorist organization
that had their focus on the U.S. for a long time. The impact that this served after 9/11 plays a clear
role in defining the results of how these economic policies were taken into action. After looking
over this tragic event in the U.S. history, there should have been a very high consideration towards
how the money was going to be used in an effort to defeat terrorismbefore this event occurred. The
top priority for the U.S. has

Computer-Mediated Communication Use among Adolescents and...
This study uses a combination of two frameworks which are Self Determination Theory and
Uses and Gratification Theory. Both theories have been applied in a variety of disciplines from
psychology to media studies. Specifically, the SDT is concerned primarily with the satisfaction
of three psychological needs are essential nutrients for well being and self initiated actions.
These needs consist of: a) autonomy, refers to human agency or volition for one s action and
decision (b) competence, refers to a sense of mastery and self proficiency in order to interact
effectively with one s world, and (c) relatedness, refers to the feelings of being cared for, likened,

To understand why do people use media and what do they use them for, UG was applied to
understand gratification from media exposure. In the context of this theory, it posits that (1) the
social and psychological origins of (2) needs which generate (3) expectations of (4) the mass media
or other sources which lead to (5) differential patterns of media exposure (or engagement in other
activities), resulting in (6) need gratifications and (7) other consequences, perhaps mostly
unintended ones . It is assumed that media use is purposive and motivated, which users are active
rather than passive consumers of media.
This theory would then hold that media choice lies with the users in order to lead to desired
outcomes or goals. This notion can be literally defined as audience centered, and prompts a shift
from what media do to people to what people do with media . In so doing, users often evaluate
their available media options and should be likely to choose a medium that best fulfilling their
needs. It is likely that the degree of the users gratification obtained from the media exposure will
contribute to the continuance of media use. Taken together, these two theories give a clear
justification that individuals are always fully aware of what they are doing and proactive enough to
ensure their needs met and away from those that thwart need fulfillment. The decision of merging
theories provides

Argumentative Essay On Artifice
Many people say that political leaders must be held to higher standards and speak nothing but the
truth. However, that which Hedges said, that the most essential skill... is artifice, is very true. The
best politicians out there, are often not the ones that have the best ideas, but rather the ones that
can trick and then steal the hearts of their audiences. The people of the world will often support
and vote for the candidate with the story that impacts them the most. The stories the candidates
say may often not be true, this is what Hedges meant when he said that the most essential skill....
Is artifice. To use a recent example, Donald Trump gained loads of support by proclaiming he was
not the typical politician. He constantly reminded the people that he was raised in America and a

Family Across The Sea Essay
The black experience, as seen in the existence of the Gullah Geechie community in the Georgia
Lowcountry, stands as proof of the existence and preservation of Africanism in the New World.
Cultural artifacts of that preservation include an active and surviving language, as studied by
Lorenzo Dow Turner, the private use of basket names, the making and use of fanner baskets as
objects of art and function, a continuance of the knowledge and skills required for growing and
harvesting rice, oral transmission of that knowledge, and the use of rice and greens in both African
and the Lowcountry Gullah Geechie cuisines. The documentary, Family Across the Sea (1991),
recognizes these similarities as direct links to the significant impact of 18th century slave trade on
African Americans, with emphasis on its documented connection to the Lowcountry.
The filmic explanation that ... the story of this connection begins with the land; land which is
strangely similar on the coasts of both the southeastern United States and that of Sierra Leone,

Symbolism In Fahrenheit 451, By Ray Bradbury
Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury is an excellent book that is truly captivating and engaging to all
of its readers. The book is about a time in the future when books are illegal and firemen start fires
instead of stopping them. Society has forgotten what real social interaction is like and everyone
prefers to watch giant televisions instead. It is very engaging and makes the reader feel like he or
she is actually in the book. The symbolism in this book helps understand the story even more. It
very much relates to the type of society we live in today. Fahrenheit 451is very captivating, and has
a lot of symbolism, and relates very much to the world we live in today. Ray Bradburydoes an
amazing job of making the reader feel immersed in the book. He uses very beautiful and
descriptive words and sentences. For example, While the books went up in sparkling whirls and
blew away on a wind turned dark with burning. (Bradbury 1) The type of language he uses here is
stunning and makes the reader feel truly engaged and can imagine being there. Another example,
The trees overhead made a great sound of letting down their dry rain. (Bradbury 3) After reading
this you can almost hear the trees blowing in the wind. He did an excellent job of making the book
sounding modern through the 66 years that it has been published. Fahrenheit 451has very deep
symbolism. The symbolism creates a different meaning when the book is read. The Hound in
the fire station symbolizes the government s control and regulation. Dogs used to help the
firemen and rescue people, but now it just watches the firemen and makes sure that no one does
anything out of line. The same idea can be applied to the government. It was supposed to help
them and guide them, but now it just watches them and keeps people quiet. In Fahrenheit 451 it
has become a watchdog type of government. The Big Brother character in the book 1984 is
becoming real today. The government nowadays, if needed, can almost always tell where you are
and track anyone. The city is also compared to a phoenix. A phoenix burns up and then rises up
from his own ashes. This symbolizes a society that falls because of a mistake but then rises again
from its own mistake and becomes

How Did The Romans Use Iron In Assyrians
The discovery of iron opened up an immense amount of possibilities to numerous empires in the
world. The Assyrians were one of the first groups who took advantage of iron using it to
invigorate and spread their empire. By the start of 3000 B.C., The Assyrian army was greatly
feared for the combination of ironweaponry and their barbaric lifestyle. The use of iron weapons
led the Assyrian military to dominance, because the Assyrians were the first to use iron weaponry,
iron was stronger than the materials used by their enemies, and the wide range of weaponry that
iron enabled. The Assyrian military had a massive advantage over other civilizations, because they
were the first empire to use iron for their weapons. Therefore, The Assyrians had better weaponry
than all other civilizations. The Assyrians also had more weapons than their enemies, due to the
fact that iron was very abundant in the world. The Assyrian military was also at an advantage
because it was more effective and stronger than bronze, which was the main material other
civilizations used for their weapons. Clearly, The Assyrian military had an upper hand against their

The And The Creative Industry Essay
Introduction
In today s era of regular internet downloads and the easy access to illegal films and music, the
creative industry has struggled, (BBC.co.uk, 2016). Due to this, money has increased for live
performances and cinema to try and ensure money is still being made by the
industry,(MakeUseOf, 2016). What are the other options for platforms and how are they surviving?
One method is the pay what you want model. Pay what you want (or PWYW) is a payment model
where buyers pay their desired amount for a given product, sometimes for the price of zero. In
some cases, a minimum (floor) price may be set, and/or a suggested price may be indicated as
guidance for the buyer. The buyer can also select an amount higher than the standard price for the
artists work,(En.wikipedia.org, 2016). The Pay what you want payment model is being used over
numerous business platforms; from restaurants (Coldwell, 2016) to theatre companies (Gardner,
2016) are utilising the payment method.
In October 2007 Radiohead released their in rainbows album using the pay what you want model.
They gave their fans the freedom to pay whatever they wanted for their album including ВЈ0, this
was the first of its kind for a major act and it ended up outselling its previous studio
album,(En.wikipedia.org, 2016).

The Importance Of Freedom In The United States
Since this country s inception, America has been a haven of freedom for all its citizens. Beginning
with the Pilgrims, who came to this new world in an effort to escape persecution for the
fundamental aspects of their cultural identity. The Pilgrims show, that these freedoms existed even
before this country decided to build its country foundation upon them. The men who founded this
great nation, looked back in history as they penned what is now known as the Constitution. This
unprecedented unionВґs law code was not brought to bear based entirely upon newly created
principles. Rather, they employed principles from many other historical documents, including the
Magna Carta, and George MasonВґs 1776 Virginia Declaration of Rights. Shortly after the
foundation of the country, the requisite for an iron willed leader arose. A retired general was called
to the forefront of the newly created Union. General George Washingtonreluctantly accepted the
power of the newly created office. In truth, he created the powers afforded to the vocation now
known as president, it has even been said he had to decline the title of king. The first president
served this country honorably, before stepping down after the conclusion of this second term. He
had declined the title of king in name, and would now also decline the role of a despot by staying
in power for more than two terms. This set a long precedent of self imposed term limits for
presidents to come, a precedent that would last until the modern era of the presidency with
President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. This Union was tested again during the Civil War. A time
when slavery divided this country greatly. When, a single issue, threatened to break the bonds of
patriotism. For it was Benjamin Franklin, who, when asked what type of government the nation
would now have after the valiant victory years before in the American Revolution, he said, ВЁA
republic, if you can keep it.ВЁ Though, for once in the nation s history, there was a legitimate fear
that the bonds of our shared heritage could not save the republic from those that expressed an
inclination to exacerbate the minimal contempts between the two factions. President Lincoln, in his
Gettysburg Address, said, ВЁNow we are

Importance Of The Fourth Amendment
The fourth amendment was created to protect the individual rights form governmental intrusion.
The fourth amendment protects the right of the people to be secure against unreasonable searches
and seizures. This shall not be violated and no warrants shall issue unless it is upon probable cause.
It was established on December 15, 1791 during the colonial era. When the 4th Amendment became
part of the Constitution, it was originally only applied to the federal government. Then it was
applied to the states through the Due Process Clause of the 14th Amendment. The fourth

To understand this situation I decided to look up cases that reflect on their fourth amendment being
violated. The case that stood out to me the most was Mapp vs. Ohio. In 1957, police officers
received an anonymous tip that Mapp was hiding a wanted man because he needed to be
questioned for a bombing. Then Police officers went to Mapp s house and wanted to search her
house. She then denied them entry, because she needed to see a warrant to let them in. After
some hours went by, the police officers forcibly entered her home and recalled that they received
a warrant. Then they proceeded with the search and found some books, pictures, and photographs
in violation of 2905.34 of Ohio s Revised Code. Then during her court trial she appealed her
sentence, because they did not receive a valid search warrant and the police officers violated her
rights. Even though they found her having possessions that were illegal, they could not hold it
against her. The issues with search and seizure are usually towards the issue of violating our
rights. One of the rights that we are getting violated is the right if privacy. It is the interest in
being free from observation that matters to us, because they always try to know what people are
saying and or doing without probable cause. Another way that this is an issue is because of the
technology that is being used to observe and survey us. One of the technologies being used is a

St Thomas Aquinas On Slavery
St. Thomas Aquinas on Slavery of Man The question of freedom has been a big thing during the
medieval philosophy or in that era. Thus, before reaching freedom there has been some objectivity
in attaining freedom such as the slavery of man. This objectivity of slavery has existed in the real
world which man dwells within. Assuming that slaveryof man is a big conflict on the medieval era
first, we look in a way on how slavery become to start. Looking in a way that where does slavery
come from or such a man can be made to be a slave, or rather man is born to be slave. As we
think of as a slave on the medieval era, how did man learned to reach the notion of freedom from
being slaved. On this paper, what I proposed to do is to examine the nature of slavery between
masters and slaves, also to look on the theory of and characteristic of natural slavery. To
distinguished between natural and conventional slavery with the comments and stands of St.
Thomas Aquinasand Aristotlein connecting to this topic guided by the following questions. First
is how can be a man labeled or considered as a slave? What is the concept of freedom of man, if
there is slavery? What is the role of man who is a slave during that time? What was the way slave
being treated? What is the stand of St. Thomas Aquinas regarding slavery? I believe that this
discussion thru St. Thomas Aquinas and Aristotle we can see some similarities and differences....

Hermit in Paris by Italo Calvino
Italo Calvino (2004) describes his perspective from a distance in Hermit in Paris ; from places he
has lived all throughout his life, the places where he has been a tourist, and a visitor. Calvino has

yourself from a place that does not create happiness.
The first visit that I can recall such an impression was in my heritage landmark (Rawhiti) I got to
know what it is like was during my early teens when I attended an unveiling with my close
relations. I had imagined the place to be dirty and filthy, but it wasn t, it was just basic. I had
imagined Rawhiti through early distant memories as well as what I thought I knew from media
and movies of what remote coastal towns with a Maori population are like, I immediately
pictured the movie Boy (2010) as a similar setting to Rawhiti. I had a preconceived idea of what
the community is like, part of that community through family, but not personally as I had been
away from there all my life. To me, I had a false interpretation of this place; I used other people s

The Existence Of Extraterrestrial Life
Unidentified Flying Objects or UFO sightings have exploded into a worldwide phenomena, but
still there are many people who refuse to believe that extraterrestrial life exist. It is hard for
some to wrap their head around the idea of little green men from outer space being more
advanced in space travel than humans. The earliest UFO sightings in recorded history can be
found in 4th century Chinese texts claiming that a moon boat hovered above China every 12
years, and ever since people have been claiming to see or be abducted by UFOs ( M.J. Stephey).
Aliens exist because of the amount of planets that can support life, UFOS have been seen all
across the world, and there is a FBI agency dedicated to covering up the existence of extraterrestrial
life.
The fact that NASA has spent years searching for planets that could support life makes people
wonder whether there could be life already out there. In 2009 NASA launched the Kepler space
telescope hoping to find as many habitable planets as possible. Kepler has found over 1000
exoplanets and confirmed that twelve are within habitable zones. Scientists look at many factors
to determine in a planet can be habitable: how close it is to its host star, if it has an atmosphere,
and if the planet has traces of water (Mike Wall). After 15 years of research NASA announced the
discovery of water on Mars. Scientist believe that the red planet could of been covered in oceans at
one point in time, but over time the water evaporated (Nola

The Soviet Union Of Soviet Republics
Since the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991, former Soviet republics have been forced to
undertake the harrowing task of achieving stability for their citizens and developing their own
identities independent from the former hegemon. Some, such as Poland, have been successful in
this regard, while others, such as Georgia, have been less fortunate. For Ukraine, a vast agricultural
country with centuries old ties to Russia, answers to the questions of stability and identity have
been uncertain ones. In spring 2014, following the Ukrainian Revolution in which pro Russian
president Viktor Yanukovych was deposed and replaced by Olexander Turchnyov, Russian forces
invaded Crimea after signing an accession treaty on March 18. Throughout the year, this conflict
escalated with violence between pro Russian militants along with Russian forces and Ukrainian
military and thousands of deaths. The violence in Crimea, where Russians have an ethnic majority
of 58%, and eastern Ukraine began to dissipate in late September when Russian military
commenced a withdrawal from Ukraine. The violence intensified again in early November when
pro Russian separatists in eastern Ukraine held new elections supported by Russia and denounced
by Ukraine, the United States, and the European Union. This is an issue that has vast economic
repercussions for powerful eurozone countries such as Germany, whose GDP growth rate fell to
0.4% in the second quarter, and who has 300,000 jobs that rely on Russian

The Outsiders Is A Young Adult Novel Written By. Hinton
The Outsiders is a young adult novel written by S.E. Hinton. The book was first published in
1967 by The Viking Press. Today, the book is published under Speak, an imprint of Penguin
Group. The book has a total of a hundred and eighty pages. The Outsiders fits in the genre of
young adult fiction because it relates to teens on emotional levels. Like Ponyboy, the teen
protagonist of the story, teens relate to his emotional growth as he tries to piece his life together.
The story follows a rivalry in a socially divided community. The Greasers are a gang of teenage
boys who live on the east side of town; the wrong side of town. Their rivals, the Socials, better
known as the Socs; come from the wealthier side of town. The two groups are always head to
head with one another, seeking a fight. Ponyboy belongs to the Greasers. He is the youngest out
of the three brothers in his family. Apart from his brothers, Ponyboy hangs out with Johnny,
Dallas, Two Bit and others who are also Greasers. The rivalry between the two groups heightens
when Johnny kills Bob, a Soc, in an attempt to save Ponyboy from drowning. In this book report,
I will go through the meaning of this book and my opinion on the story itself. The story is told in
first person point of view, in this case it is Ponyboy s perspective. The state and city are unknown
to us be we are definitely sure the story took place somewhere between the 1960s. The slang terms
and the lifestyle give it all away. During the 1950s

But if he had visited ten years ago, it might have been closer to 50 cents. As India has become
more productive over the last few decades, wages in the tradable sector (IT) rose, pulling up
wages in the nontradable sector (waiters), and the currency has appreciated. There is a still a major
price difference D.C. and Delhi. One dollar will pay for much less stuff in America than its
equivalent in rupees will buy in India. But as Indian exports continue to grow, one should expect
Shyam s lunch to get more and more expensive.
There is much more to price levels than the Nanny Effect. Much, much, much more. Restrictive
urban policy raises the price of rent in similarly productive cities. Energy policies and levies raise or
lower the price of gas. Tariffs raise the price of imports. On a nation by nation basis, taxes restrain
demand and subsidies increase supply on an idiosyncratic basis.
But perhaps the easiest way to mess with Balassa and Samuelson is for a government to
manipulate foreign exchange rates. China, for example, is famous for pegging its currency to the
U.S. dollar to make its exports more competitive. As a result, services in China are probably
cheaper than they would be if the government weren t actively trying to depreciate the currency. If
you re happily wondering Why is China so cheap? you should thank Beijing.

Religion 11 In Class Essay
When the Nicene Creed was created and finalized in 381 A.D., there were many heresies under the
umbrella of Christianity. The Nicene Creed seeked to address these heresies and remove them from
mainstream worship. One of the many heresies in this time was Arianism.
Arianism was a form of Christianity that believed that Christ was made by the Father, therefor not
coeternal with the Father and not consubstantial either. Arianism was popular among the Ostrogoth
s and Visigoths, as well as the ruling elite of many other German tribes in the Late Roman, Early
Dark Ages period. Arianism s popularity died out by 700 A.D., due to it being deemed heretical
and being contradicted by things such as the Nicene Creed.

A Prayer For Owen Meany Ending Analysis
John Irving s A Prayer for Owen Meany has a curious ending. The narrator, John Wheelwright,
acts almost like a tour guide, taking the audience through a voyage of his life and his faith And if
you look to the left, you ll see my mom getting hit by a fatal baseball, John almost seems to say
through the similarly curious Owen Meany, the reason that John is a Christian. For much of the
text, A Prayer for Owen Meanyseems nearly aimless, simply describing, often in detail of
perplexing thoroughness, random childhood memories intercut with his current life with a slightly
common yet undefined thread tying them all together. But the ending illuminates each of the
seemingly meaningless plot threads, bringing order to the chaos of John s cluttered memory. The
conclusion of A Prayer for Owen Meany sheds lights on the nuances and intricacies of the novel,
cementing some interpretations and opening doors to others, ensuring that it is a satisfying and,
most importantly, a thought provoking ending.
Owen Meany acted as John s moral and spiritual lodestar: he had faith when John did not, helped
John form opinions when he didn t believe he could. John feels lost without Owen to guide him

the development of affect regulation, attention, cognition, perception, and interpersonal

asserts that dissociationcan result from deep rooted developmental stress. This project will
concentrate on the links in developmental trauma with the forming of dissociative traits and
discuss whether dissociation is essentially related to the developing self. An in depth look at what
is developmental trauma and the aetiology of dissociation will be covered. Using clinical
examples, the implications for clinical practice in child psychotherapy will be considered. There is
not scope here to look at each dissociative phenomena in great depth so this project will concentrate

Disadvantages Of Web-Based Learning
Web based learning leads to the change in roles of teachers and students in learning processes.
This is due to the fact that web based learning applies the concept of learner centered approach in
learning. To compare, in traditional ways of teaching and learning, teachers played a big role,
which was as the giver or provider of knowledge (Web based Learning: Good or Bad?). Students
during that time depended solely on teachers to give information about the topics covered in every
subject that they were learning. It is understandable because technology during that time was not as
advanced as the technology that we have nowadays. Therefore, another way of students to gain
additional information about a particular subject was by going to libraries.... Show more content on

As stated in the article of Orientation to Web based Learning , unlike in traditional way in learning
which assesses students achievement through oral and written examinations, web based learning
introduces more innovative approach, such as through forums, online quizzes and e portfolio (Web
based Learning: Good or Bad?). This new assessment approach does not only encourage students
be more creative, for example in conducting a forum, but also helps them to improve their soft
skills, especially communication skills and computer skills. This will then lead to the change in
role of teachers as those new assessment approach stated earlier would be able to overcome the
issue of examination oriented teaching , which only strives for students academic excellence in
examination.
Teachers can now focus on helping students to pass their examinations with flying colors, as well
as polish their soft skills, such as leadership and cooperative skills, in order to produce well
balanced students academically and socially. Hence, it can be concluded that application of web
based learning has led to change in the role of teachers and students in learning processes.
Web based learning is an innovative approach which brings various advantages to teaching and
learning processes. There are a lot of advantages, or prospects of implementing web based learning
in educational institutions, but the most significant ones are the flexibility, and accessibility and

The IPhone X is the newest and possibly greatest IPhone yet, but we can t forget the previous
IPhone s. Such as the IPhone SE, my very first phone and my very favorite. There are many
reasons to love the IPhone SE, for example, its price, size, camera and battery. Even though these
are reasons to love the IPhoneSE, these examples come with benefits, then also come with cons.
My first review about the IPhone SE is about the price. It is around 400 or 500 dollars, which in
my opinion should be a little less money than what it is, such as 200 or 300 dollars, but what
would make it cost this much is the updates. The updates make it worth the price because of the

First off, according to many websites and businesses the IPhone SE s battery lasts about 9.5
hours, and the IPhone 6s battery only lasts 7.45 hours. Which is great for people who take their
phones everywhere and need them. Also, even if the battery runs low, say 20%, the battery
saver that you can turn on for your phone could make it last almost twice as long as it should,
which is also a great thing to have for your phone, but if your tabs are open on your IPhone, it
makes the battery drain very fast. The amount of tabs you have open can affect the battery by
about 20%, but the solution to that is easy; just close your tabs! The final review I had in mind
is about the camera quality. On many websites I have read that the IPhone SE quality is not the
best and could use some work, but I believe otherwise. Let s start with the zoom: The camera
zoom I would say has exceptionally good quality, even though Apple decided to keep the front
facing camera on the iPhone SE practically identical to the iPhone 5s. One problem about the
camera is the sometimes blurriness that happens. Say you were on a trip and you saw some
spectacular bird fly across your view and you had only a few seconds to get the perfect picture, so
you whip out your phone and are ready to take the picture when you notice the screen is blurry. You
try so hard to get it unblurred but the camera cannot focus one the one object you want the picture

who has had such a dramatic impact on our understanding of the theatre and acting. First of all I
will give a biography of Brecht because it is important to know the background of his life in order
to understand the motives he had for writing and producing plays in the way he did. We will see a
direct correlation between events in his life and the plays and techniques that he propagated. I will
then move to explore the methods and techniques that Brecht developed, looking at how they came
about and who influenced his work. I will look at Brecht s theory of Epic theatre, tracing the

He was studying medicine but his real interests were in drama and the theatre. During the war he
was posted as a nurse in an army hospital near his home thereby escaping the horrors of the front
line. He was dealing with severely wounded soldiers and this shocked him to the realities of death
and made him see the futility of war, something that rallied him to fight for peace through his
political plays. After the war Brecht went to Munich to find work in the theatre and then on to
Berlin, where he stayed. He quickly got to know the main actors and directors of the time and soon
became involved in directing and performing. He gathered a group of friends who worked with
him and on his behalf, thus began his habit of collaborating with others.
In the 1920 s Brecht married Helene Weigel who remained his wife for the rest of his life. He also
wrote these three plays: Drums in the
Night, In The Jungle of the Cities and Baal. Each of these plays was directed by leading directors
at the time and they attracted al lot of scandal because of the provoking content and new style. He
also undertook his first collaboration with the composer Kurt Weill in

him as a leading playwright and theatre practitioner. He started to develop his

To support this claim, I plan to focus on Joan of Arc Letter to the English on the 22 nd of March
1429, Allmond s exploration of hosting laws and Roger Bacon s letter. In the letter to the English,
Joan of Arc warns the King of England to retract from war or expect to face physical violence.
Despite Joan of Arc later downfall by treason, her letter as a servant of the French kingdom
illustrates that nationalism grew at the expense of rigid international relations. In order to further
explore the international animosity that grew, as well I plan to explore the hosting laws [that
were established] whereby alien merchants would be kept under effective guard by being obliged
to go to host with known and reliable Englishmen who would vouch for their good behavior while
they were residing in England due to a fear of spies (Allmond,43). Lastly Roger Bacon in his
letter, on the other hand, elaborates on how authors hid their secrets by means of special letters,
devised by their own ingenuity and will, and different from those which are anywhere in use ending

During the Revolutionary War, one of the main fears were not the enemies bullets, but fear of
disease. One of the major viruses that people had to fear was smallpox. The continental army had
more to fear than the British in the fact that British had been immunized, and the continental army

Arguments For The Legalization Of Gay Marriage
Legalization of Gay Marriage What is the definition of marriage? The dictionary states it as
being the legal union between a man and a woman as husband and wife. However, times are
changing as the gay life style becomes more accepted by society it is time to allow all couples
regardless of sex to enjoy equal protections, rights and benefits under the law. Perhaps, it makes the
most sense to consider arguments against same sex marriageto realize why it should be legalized;
these arguments touch upon a broad array of issues including: parenting, religion and morality,
procreation, rights and benefits, and values and institute of marriage. Parenting

Many people also believe that legalizing same sex marriages will lead to a huge portion of the
population to suddenly declare themselves as homosexuals: I find this scenario to be very unlikely.
Equal Rights, Benefits, and Financial Implications
Although they currently are not the reality is that marriage benefits should be accessible to all
couples. Gay couples are unfairly denied the countless benefits enjoyed by heterosexual couples
that are able to marry. For instance, they are not eligible for tax benefits, insurance benefits and
are sometimes denied joint ownership of property. Furthermore, Same sex couples are even
denied the right to make certain medical decisions with regards to their partner. For example, a
gay couple that has been together for 25 years is not allowed to visit their partner in the hospital
after visiting hours due to the fact they are not considered family. They each are considered legal
strangers. A common belief among opponents of same sex marriage is that businesses would be
forced to provide benefits to same sex couples. (Bidstrup, 2004) This is not necessarily the case,
and many businesses already voluntarily offer marriage benefits to same sex couples as a matter of
good business sense. The businesses that offer these benefits recognize the importance and
invaluable support spouses make to their working partners; these companies are generally viewed
as progressive and are attractive to investors

Feminist Perspectives In Criminology
This essay presents an insightful discourse on the contributions Feminist theories and perspectives
have made within the field of Criminology. It will illustrate development of these perspectives as
well as their enhancement of our understanding of women as both perpetrators and victims of
crime. Moreover, this paper will examine how the criminal justice system has historically responded
to male and femaleoffenders and victims on a national and global scale.
Historically, researchers of females within crime have habitually been male (Crowther Dowey,
Silvestri, 2008). Feminist perspectives in Criminology have had an exceptional influence on the
way women are understood, both as perpetrators and victims of crime. One of the fundamental
themes within Feminist criminology is its strong focus on gender (primarily female) at the core of
its discourse and analysis of crime (Chesney lind, Morash 2013). Most Criminological theory and
research has been conducted by male Criminologists, focused on male offenders, and criminal
justice system responses to male offenders, overlooking women in crime, subsequently leading to
accusations of mainstream Criminology s gender ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Feminists support the idea that women experience victimisation and an intrinsically different way
to men. For example, from the Feminist perspective, there is thought to be a stronger possibility
that women will be victimised by a close friend or family member than any other person (Natarajan
Ciobanu 2010). Radical Feminists attribute this to the social institutions and norms facilitating the
victimisation of women. Feminist Criminological research has also facilitated in reshaping
Criminology s understanding of domestic violence. Considerable amounts of research surrounding
domestic violence stems from work that used the Conflict Tactics Scale (Straus and Gelles

Spanish Caste System Essay
Through the racial caste system of the Spanish Colonial Era, it is known that the people of mixed
race and dark skin of the time were viewed as inferior by the Spaniards. This inferiority complex
was mainly due to one group of people oppressing another. The irony behind this instance is that it
was the minority oppressing the majority. Another factor behind the success of the caste system
was internalized oppression, or, in other words, one group of people oppressing themselves.
Through accepting this perspective of thinking and contributing to the society that surrounded
them, these mixed race people ended up adding fuel to the fire of their oppression. According to
Martha Menchaca, author of Recovering History, Reconstructing Race, self oppression came
because of the vacancy of leadership positions in New Spain. At the core, this vacancy gave those
who were not pure Spaniards the opportunity to achieve a greater sense of social acceptance. In
her book, Menchaca states that while these people of color did, to an extent, succeed in improving
their quality of life, the tyrannical narrative was never really changed. Furthermore, it was this
search for a better life that created the foundation for what is now Mexicotoday.
People of color were oppressed from the very beginning of the colonial movement. The caste system
that the Spaniards created used race as the foundation for justifying subjugation. Through the caste
system, one could see that people with lighter skin and

Emily Dickinson
Emily Dickinson Emily Dickinson is one of America s greatest poets, her work was original and
unique, and the speakers in her poem would often express what limitations they saw in their
society and how they wish they could escape it. Although Dickinson became a famous poet, she
didn t want her work published, during her lifetime other people would have some of her poems
published. The poems that were published were considered to be eccentric and were altered
significantly by publishers. Dickinson often wrote about the idea of being famous and how
much she would dread it if she ever did become famous because she felt that it wouldn t allow her
to stay true to herself. Upon her death thousands of poems were discovered by her family and
were eventually published, these poems are what cemented her legacy as one of the greatest poets
to ever live. Emily Dickinsonwas born in 1830 to a prominent family, her father was a well
respected lawyer. Dickinson was well educated, she had attended school from a very young age
and also attended Amherst Academy, her father wanted his children to be well educated and he
reminded them to pay attention in school and learn as much as possible. At age 15 Dickinson
left the academy and began to attend Mount Holyoke Female Seminary but after a year she left
and went back home, nobody knows why she left but some believe this was the beginning of her
reclusiveness. From an early age Dickinson began to write and some of her influences included
her principal and a friend who was an attorney that worked with her father. In addition, one day
during a trip to Philadelphia she befriended a minister who also became a great influence, she
would correspond with him, often writingletter just like she would with everyone else. Dickinson
also experienced many deaths of friends that affected her profoundly and it caused her to become
depressed, sometimes expressing it in her writings. In addition, she would often express herself in
statements to others not being able to understand why those close to her were constantly dying,
she also expressed her depression, and she even wondered if she should die too, it is believe that
these tragedies are also the reason for her reclusiveness. Emily Dickinson

The Code Substitution ( Cdd ) Learning Essay
The Code Substitution (CDD) Learning is Immediate and Delayed Memory Tests. This test is
based on the symbol digit coding paradigm. The ANAM rendition emphasizes scanning and
paired associate learning of the symbol number pairs. The test also includes a recall component.
A string of up to nine symbols and nine digits are paired in a key across the upper portion of the
screen. During the test, there is a box at the bottom of the screen that contains a single symbol
number pair. Pairings at the bottom change and at times match the pairing in the key at the top.
Other times the pairing is incorrect. During the learning phase, the participant indicates whether or
not the pairings at the bottom match the key and receives feedback for incorrect responses. An
immediate and/or a delayed recall trial can also be included. During the recall phase (M2S), there
is no key at the top and the participant must indicate if the pairings appearing at the bottom are
correct or incorrect from memory The ANAM test is portable and can be administrated by a proctor
who is available to clarify questions the participant may have about how to complete the
assessment. The proctor can provide minimal, i.e. percentage of correct, mean, throughput
information on how the individual performed compared to his norm group, i.e. age, education. The
test is not timed however the participants are assessed on accuracy and reaction time. The test
proctor should have counseling skills to assist in mitigating

Compare And Contrast Gorbachev And Glasnost
In front of two panes of bulletproof glass, United States President Ronald Reagan delivered the
condemning line, Mr. Gorbachev, open this gate. Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall! Mr. Reagan s
condemnations and misgivings were misguided and unjust to the efforts of Soviet President
Mikhail Gorbachev a reformer who strived to open up the declining Soviet State. In order to open
up his state, Gorbachev instituted two programs, Glasnost (openness) and Perestroika

(Gorbachev) Gorbachev mandated a partial withdrawal of the State from artistic and intellectual
affairs (Harvard Business Review). The Soviet leader allowed limited criticism of the State,
allowed the publication of previously banned books, and gave the media more journalistic freedom
(Sixsmith). In making these changes, Gorbachev took a calculated risk. On one hand, Glasnost
was a necessity. With greater access to information, the State could no longer truly censor the
media citizens consumed. On the other hand, as Martin Sixsmith argues in his book Russia,
Glasnost opened the gates to criticism of the regime, and only accelerated the downfall of the
Soviet Union. To Sixsmith, the implementation of Glasnost lifted the wool from the eyes of the
Soviet people, and the world they saw was in a state of

After the Zimbabwe Africans People Union (ZAPU) and the Zimbabwe African National Union
(ZANU) were banned by the Rhodesian state, they fled to Zambia and Mozambique. There, they
formed the insurgent organizations Zimbabwe People s Revolutionary Army (ZIPRA) and the
Zimbabwe African National Liberation Army (ZANLA), respectively. While the two parent
political parties differed in their ideological views regarding the inclusion of Maoist philosophy in
their Marxism, their militarymovements did not differ significantly in their structure or behavior.
The recruitment patterns of both organizations followed similar patterns, with the movements
engaging in forced conscriptionin the early years before eventually becoming volunteer
organizations once they were firmly established. The individuals who joined consisted of both
youth from the African intelligentsia and uneducated individuals from the tribal frontier areas. Both
guerrilla organizations were led by cadre who received their orders from a military council within
the parent political organization, reflecting a clear subordination of military forces to the civilian
leadership. In the earliest days of the conflict, the guerrilla fighters were recruited from the political
movements within Rhodesia. The volunteers were given cover stories that they were leaving the
country to attend academic courses, when in reality, they were being sent abroad to receive
military training. By the late 1960 s, the existing supply of

Installing The Four Integrated Spaces
I started my design process by sketching the overall form of the four integrated spaces. I intended
the place to be a relaxation centre for the community in an area. The place has to be larger than
private residential space as it is intended for the public.
For the first concept, I intended the space to be of different heights, to show that some spaces need
more privacy than the other. The cellar has to has more privacy than the belvedere and hearth and
bathe space is in between,
The belvedere has to have big openings (windows) so that the occupant of the space can see the
best view of the surrounding. The hearth has to have a fireplace and a chimney, with seating. The

I started to draw the plan of the spaces on the ground floor. I also experimented with the
appropriate scale of the spaces. The elements of the spaces was decided at this point of the design
process. I also emphasise on the accessibility to all the spaces, to create continuity and connections.
The next step ws to integrate the cellar design (overall form), to match the ground level plan and to
create the best pathway to access all the four spaces, to create an amazing architectural experience.

I intended the cellar to be a dark place, with low amount of light entering the space. However, still

I experimented with arrangement of cards vertically cards with certain intervals to direct the whole

going to give some sense of direction for the whole journey . It is meant to be slightly

Neuromuscular Dysphagia Treatment
Neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES) is a type of therapy used as a form of treatment for
swallowing disorders (dysphagia). This method involves placing electrodes on one or several
external sites on the anterior neck to which an electrical current is applied to peripheral tissue
targets (Clark, Lazarus, Arvedson, Schooling, Frymark, 2009, p 362). it is hypothesized that such
stimulation aims to improve function by strengthening the swallowing musculature or by
stimulating the sensory pathways relevant to swallowing or both. To facilitate strengthening,
muscle contractions elicited via NMES generally recruit larger and more motor units than voluntary
contractions, causing metabolic responses within the muscle tissue that ultimately... Show more

The primary diagnosis associated with these participants dysphagia is stroke in three out of the
six participants , and all participants were under the age of 90 (Carnaby Mann and Crary, 2008).
The investigation was about whether NMES was effective treatment for swallowing disorders.
The participants had to obtain a score of 23 or greater on the mini mental state examination
(MMSE) and a score of 5 or less on the Functional Oral Intake Scale (FOIS), and lastly the
participants could not have received swallowing therapy within the last three months (Carnaby
Mann and Crary 2008). Before therapy began baseline scores were collected including clinical and
instrumental swallowing evaluation, documentation of weight and the participants of self
perception of swallowing ability. The Mann Assessment of swallowing ability (MASA) was used to
assess swallowing ability. A videofluoroscopic swallowing evaluation was conducted to confirm the
presence of pharyngeal dysphagia (Carnaby Mann and Crary 2008). Materials used in this
examination were thin liquid, nectar thick liquid, and pudding in both 5ml 10ml amounts, and
modified per participant. Effort was made to present each material to each participant, but if

The Crucible And On The Waterfront
Making amends for past sins is challenging yet ultimately rewarding
Discuss with reference to the Crucible and On the Waterfront.
The two texts, On the Waterfront directed by Elia Kazan, and The Crucible written by Arthur
Miller, both exhibit a protagonist that is plagued by their sins and desperately seeks redemption.
Through Terry Malloy s life on the Hoboken waterfront of 1950 s America, and John Proctors in the
Puritan society of 1962 Salem, it is clear that the act of expiating our wrongs is demanding and
difficult but finally satisfying. Both texts show similarities but also differences in how the
characters have sinned and betrayed their conscience and loved ones. The taxing journey of
redemption is full of obstacles in which each texts protagonist deals with in their own unique but
alike manner. Despite these unavoidable hardships, both Proctor and Malloy ultimately receive
their desired redemption and gratifying outcomes. Thus, both texts show how life s uncertainties,
confusions and wrongdoings should be dealt with humanity and a clear conscience instead of
fulfilling individual needs.
Both texts depict an antihero who committed an irreversible sin, sinking them into despair, and
leaving them craving for salvation. In the opening scenes of On the Waterfront, Kazan s use of a
close up shot of Terry Malloy s face is a manifestation of how Terry is being harried by the guilt of
Joey Doyle s death. He thought the mob was just gonna lean on him a bit , instead,

The Pros And Cons Of Animal Cloning
When the subject of cloning is brought up, many people expect to see an exact replica of a
person, including the same age. However, there is much more to cloning than creating an identical
person from the original. A clone is defined to be a cell or organism that is genetically
indistinguishable to the original cell or organism from which it is acquired (Rogers, 2015). Cloning
was introduced in 1903 by Herbert J. Webber, who was an American plant scientist and used
cloning in reference to plants that had been assembled through asexual propagation by horticultural
methods. Plants that are propagated asexually, whether from twigs or cuttings of other parts or
from bulbs or buds, are exact genetic replicas of their parent plant (Rogers, 2015). In nature, cloning
happens all the time. Thesis: There are many different topics to cloning other than the subject that
began the idea of cloning. Over the years, the topics of human cloning and animal cloning have
been discussed bringing debate on ethical issues and whether there are any advantages or
disadvantages.
Animal cloning is a process by which a complete organism is replicated from a single cell
extracted from the parent organism and in a manner in which they are genetically the same
(Cloning, 2017). Meaning, that the cloned animal is an exact copy of its parent; both contain the
identical DNA (Cloning, 2017). More specifically, in reproductive cloning, researchers remove a
mature somatic cell, such as a skin cell, from

Aspects And Effects Of The Space Race
Brooks Brumby Mr. Hubbard November 17, 2017 The Space Race: Aspects and Effects The
Space Race was a competition between the Soviet Union and the United States to see which
nation could achieve spaceflight dominance before the other. The Race began on August 2, 1955
and ended nearly 40 years later in December of 1991. The Space Race began because of two
major factors that would carry it until its end. The Soviet Union s announcement that they were
going to began building and using satellites to use in space days before the United States
planned to announce the same thing helped fuel the fire for the competition. The Cold War also
played a very influential role in the competitiveness between the countries and would inspire
them to be better and work harder than their rival. The general public also played a key role in
the race. Reinforcing your country s involvement in the race gave them the all clear to spend
money to build these space crafts, satellites and other technology in order to not only win, but to
please the people. If a country has the support of its people they can accomplish anything.
Propaganda like posters became a great way of encouraging the people to get involved and stay
involved. Posters depicted great spaceships only seen in movies, engrained a hatred for the
opposing country, the influence the race had on the future, and astronauts as real life superheroes
like Superman. Most importantly the Space Race was a time of great inventions that carry on to

  • 2. Abraham Lincoln The Best President The best United States president is Abraham Lincoln. A survey from 2014 by America Political Science Association, voted Abraham Lincoln as the best U.S. president. (Washington Post, 1) Abraham Lincoln freed the slaves, took care of the civil war, and was a civil rights activist. I think he is the best president we have had because of these reasons. During his time in office President Lincoln abolished slavery. Abraham Lincolnbecame the United States 16th President in 1861, issuing the Emancipation Proclamation that declared forever free those slaves within the Confederacy in 1863. (whitehouse, 2) Though Abraham Lincoln felt African Americans were not equal to whites, he believed the America s founders intended that all men were created with certain inalienable rights. The Union Army s first year and a half of battlefield defeats made it especially difficult to keep morale up and support strong for a reunification the nation. With the hopeful, but by no means conclusive Union victory at Antietam on September 22, 1862, Lincoln felt confident enough to reshape the cause of the war from saving the union to abolishing slavery. He issued the Emancipation Proclamation on January 1, 1863, which stated that all individuals who were held as slaves in rebellious states henceforward shall be free. The action was more symbolic than effective because the North did not control any states in rebellion and the proclamation did not apply to Border ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. India Is A Land Known For Its Diversity Introduction: India is a land known for its diversity with respect to culture, languages, religions and cuisine. Several dishes in the Indian cuisine find its roots delved deep into tradition and history. Examples of these indigenous dishes include Paneer, Dahi, Avial and so on. The dairy industry in India has grown tremendously in recent years post the success of the Operation Flood Programme. This programme, which began in the 1970 s, was a noteworthy event globally and the impact of this can be witnessed in the fact of India rising to the status of being the leading producer of milk in the world. Out of the total milk produced in the country, nearly 40 50% is converted into a variety of dairy products whose origins lie deeply rooted into Indian tradition. The processes used to manufacture these products include heat and acid coagulation, heat desiccation and fermentation. Paneer is one such product which is an indigenous traditional type of fresh cheese prepared by heat acid coagulation of milk. Coagulation refers to the formation of large structural protein aggregates where fat in milk and other colloidal and soluble solids are entrapped with whey. The major protein present in milk that gets coagulated is casein. Paneer is unsalted and unripened unlike several of its western counterparts such as Roquefort cheese, Cheddar cheese and so on. It shares a few similarities with Tofu and western cottage cheese. As with the entire food industry within the country, the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Kevin Hart Essay For my research, I chose the comedian Kevin Hart. I chose Mr. Hart due to the fact that many of his standup comedy acts appeal to me, and are relatable to my life. A lot of comedians create humor at the expense of others, but Kevin Hart tends to keep it centered on his family, and events that have happened in his life. I can relate to the events that he makes light of, and it makes it the humormore appealing to me specifically. Both the fact that his home life, and his physical appearance are the basis of his routines make more sense than some of the other standup comedy acts I have observed. At this stage, I do not know much about Kevin Harts life, besides what he has included in the sets that I ve watched. Some of the things that I have learned is that he had a troubled childhood due to his father s life choices. His father was an addict, and had altercations in bars, which Kevin witnessed and made jokes to deal with it. He also has two kids, a boy and a girl, which sometimes are brought up in the standup sets, mostly at the expense of the children. The majority of Kevin s appeal is centered around his height, which is a commonly referenced jokeboth by himself, and others, which does not seem to bother him anymore if he is able to make light of it himself. I think that the beginning of Mr. Hart s life is what led him to be a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Harts comedy. • 5. War In A Separate Peace For me, this moment four years is a moment in history was the war. The war was and is a reality for me. I still instinctively live and think in its atmosphere (32). This quote made by Gene encapsulates the major role World War II plays in A Separate Peace. John Knowles, the author, utilizes the war as a spectacular backdrop for his novel. In fact, without World War II, this book would just be another story lost in the churn of the millions of novels published. A Separate Peace, which would lack an external conflict, have only a paucity of symbolisms and connections, and suffer from a lack of explanation for many of the character s actions, would need to be completely rewritten or scratched altogether. The absence of World War II would jeopardize ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Three of the main characters, Gene, Brinker, and Leper would all dramatically change if there was no war. Probably the most obvious of these characters who were impacted by the World War II was Leper. The innocent of the class, Leper never knew what he was getting into when he enlisted to ski in the war. Leper s life is then turned upside down, and he goes completely crazy. Without the war, Leper s character would need to be developed in some alternative way. Brinker also completely changes and manipulates his actions as a consequence of this war. Known formerly as the most responsible, respectable leader on campus at Devon, Brinker morphs into a character that seems particularly indifferent and downright rebellious. Knowles indirectly characterizes him through Gene s thoughts, mentioning that Brinker the Lawgiver had turned rebel for the Duration (122). It is very difficult for one to say that without the war, Brinker would select the path of rebellion, rather than stay serious and have a possibly brighter future. Finally, Gene is not only affected by his internal struggles but also the struggle that is going on overseas as he completes his years at Devon. Like most things that happen in the protagonist s life, Gene is never concrete on his stance or the following actions he should take on these. He desires to lose his old, murky life in ... • 6. Online Dating And Its Impact On The World With the advancement of the Internet, we have seen many changes in the dating world. Hundreds of applications and websites have been created in order to connect people locally and internationally. Among these websites and applications are online dating tools. Online dating began in 1995 when Match.com was created, and has grown significantly since. Millennials (the generation born between the 1980 s and the mid 2000 s) were born into the digital revolution. Growing up, we were more likely to text to ask for a date, rather than in person, or even over the phone. Now that most Millennials are teenagers or older, datingapps have become the new norm. With apps like OkCupid, Tinder, Grindr, and more, traditional dating values have gone out the door to make room for online dating. The thing our parents knew as courting, rarely exists within the Millennial generation. So, with all these knew dating tools, the question becomes: Has online dating actually affected how Millennials date? Literary Review In our research about online dating and the effect it has had on how Millennials date, we found that there were some common ideas among writers. Because our topic is relatively new, finding actual journals or research studies were hard. We decided to focus mostly on articles written for big name websites like Forbes and Time. The first things we decided to look at were the statistics of online dating. Online dating began in 1995 when Match.com was created. This is during a time ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 8. U.s. War On Terrorism Essay The United States vision of and for the world changed dramatically, and perhaps permanently, on September 11, 2001. The aftermath frightened and impacted the nation s reputation, and in order to measure the nature and extent of our policies, it is important to understand our efforts after this national attack on US soil. Many interesting documents released earlier that year provides a detailed perspective of America s economic policies and actions towards the War on Terror. The U.S. came out with a massive debt that has impacted the nation in several ways, but this leads to a basic question with a complex answer: How did the U.S. War on Terrorismimpact the American Debt Crisis? After researching further into the 9/11 attacks, clearly most of the money put into the war was wasted or misspent. Even though it was crucial going after the terrorists, especially since they had taken many lives and were capable to repeating their attack caused fear throughout the nation. It is important to signal out that the U.S. was attacked from a terrorist organization that had their focus on the U.S. for a long time. The impact that this served after 9/11 plays a clear role in defining the results of how these economic policies were taken into action. After looking over this tragic event in the U.S. history, there should have been a very high consideration towards how the money was going to be used in an effort to defeat terrorismbefore this event occurred. The top priority for the U.S. has ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Both theories have been applied in a variety of disciplines from psychology to media studies. Specifically, the SDT is concerned primarily with the satisfaction of three psychological needs are essential nutrients for well being and self initiated actions. These needs consist of: a) autonomy, refers to human agency or volition for one s action and decision (b) competence, refers to a sense of mastery and self proficiency in order to interact effectively with one s world, and (c) relatedness, refers to the feelings of being cared for, likened, and valued by other individuals. Thus, each of these three needs is necessary for... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... To understand why do people use media and what do they use them for, UG was applied to understand gratification from media exposure. In the context of this theory, it posits that (1) the social and psychological origins of (2) needs which generate (3) expectations of (4) the mass media or other sources which lead to (5) differential patterns of media exposure (or engagement in other activities), resulting in (6) need gratifications and (7) other consequences, perhaps mostly unintended ones . It is assumed that media use is purposive and motivated, which users are active rather than passive consumers of media. This theory would then hold that media choice lies with the users in order to lead to desired outcomes or goals. This notion can be literally defined as audience centered, and prompts a shift from what media do to people to what people do with media . In so doing, users often evaluate their available media options and should be likely to choose a medium that best fulfilling their needs. It is likely that the degree of the users gratification obtained from the media exposure will contribute to the continuance of media use. Taken together, these two theories give a clear justification that individuals are always fully aware of what they are doing and proactive enough to ensure their needs met and away from those that thwart need fulfillment. • 10. Argumentative Essay On Artifice Many people say that political leaders must be held to higher standards and speak nothing but the truth. However, that which Hedges said, that the most essential skill... is artifice, is very true. The best politicians out there, are often not the ones that have the best ideas, but rather the ones that can trick and then steal the hearts of their audiences. The people of the world will often support and vote for the candidate with the story that impacts them the most. The stories the candidates say may often not be true, this is what Hedges meant when he said that the most essential skill.... Is artifice. The test is stupid and if colleges only looked at your GPA and grades, then many qualified and learned students who are not good at standardized tests or messed up on one, will be accepted to the college of their choice. However, the College Board has already tricked most of America and now they have trapped us because we need them so that we can get into college. Family Across The Sea Essay The black experience, as seen in the existence of the Gullah Geechie community in the Georgia Lowcountry, stands as proof of the existence and preservation of Africanism in the New World. Cultural artifacts of that preservation include an active and surviving language, as studied by Lorenzo Dow Turner, the private use of basket names, the making and use of fanner baskets as objects of art and function, a continuance of the knowledge and skills required for growing and harvesting rice, oral transmission of that knowledge, and the use of rice and greens in both African and the Lowcountry Gullah Geechie cuisines. The documentary, Family Across the Sea (1991), recognizes these similarities as direct links to the significant impact of 18th century slave trade on African Americans, with emphasis on its documented connection to the Lowcountry. The filmic explanation that ... the story of this connection begins with the land; land which is strangely similar on the coasts of both the southeastern United States and that of Sierra Leone, opens the logic and reason for enslaving rice growing people from the Gola Kisi region of Sierra Leone. • 12. Symbolism In Fahrenheit 451, By Ray Bradbury Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury is an excellent book that is truly captivating and engaging to all of its readers. The book is about a time in the future when books are illegal and firemen start fires instead of stopping them. Society has forgotten what real social interaction is like and everyone prefers to watch giant televisions instead. It is very engaging and makes the reader feel like he or she is actually in the book. The symbolism in this book helps understand the story even more. It very much relates to the type of society we live in today. Fahrenheit 451is very captivating, and has a lot of symbolism, and relates very much to the world we live in today. Ray Bradburydoes an amazing job of making the reader feel immersed in the book. He uses very beautiful and descriptive words and sentences. For example, While the books went up in sparkling whirls and blew away on a wind turned dark with burning. (Bradbury 1) The type of language he uses here is stunning and makes the reader feel truly engaged and can imagine being there. Another example, The trees overhead made a great sound of letting down their dry rain. (Bradbury 3) After reading this you can almost hear the trees blowing in the wind. He did an excellent job of making the book sounding modern through the 66 years that it has been published. Fahrenheit 451has very deep symbolism. The symbolism creates a different meaning when the book is read. The Hound in the fire station symbolizes the government s control and regulation. Dogs used to help the firemen and rescue people, but now it just watches the firemen and makes sure that no one does anything out of line. The same idea can be applied to the government. It was supposed to help them and guide them, but now it just watches them and keeps people quiet. In Fahrenheit 451 it has become a watchdog type of government. The Big Brother character in the book 1984 is becoming real today. The government nowadays, if needed, can almost always tell where you are and track anyone. The city is also compared to a phoenix. A phoenix burns up and then rises up from his own ashes. This symbolizes a society that falls because of a mistake but then rises again from its own mistake and becomes ... The Assyrians were one of the first groups who took advantage of iron using it to invigorate and spread their empire. By the start of 3000 B.C., The Assyrian army was greatly feared for the combination of ironweaponry and their barbaric lifestyle. The use of iron weapons led the Assyrian military to dominance, because the Assyrians were the first to use iron weaponry, iron was stronger than the materials used by their enemies, and the wide range of weaponry that iron enabled. The Assyrian military had a massive advantage over other civilizations, because they were the first empire to use iron for their weapons. Therefore, The Assyrians had better weaponry than all other civilizations. The Assyrians also had more weapons than their enemies, due to the fact that iron was very abundant in the world. • 14. The And The Creative Industry Essay Introduction In today s era of regular internet downloads and the easy access to illegal films and music, the creative industry has struggled, (BBC.co.uk, 2016). Due to this, money has increased for live performances and cinema to try and ensure money is still being made by the industry,(MakeUseOf, 2016). What are the other options for platforms and how are they surviving? One method is the pay what you want model. Pay what you want (or PWYW) is a payment model where buyers pay their desired amount for a given product, sometimes for the price of zero. In some cases, a minimum (floor) price may be set, and/or a suggested price may be indicated as guidance for the buyer. The buyer can also select an amount higher than the standard price for the artists work,(En.wikipedia.org, 2016). The Pay what you want payment model is being used over numerous business platforms; from restaurants (Coldwell, 2016) to theatre companies (Gardner, 2016) are utilising the payment method. • 15. The Importance Of Freedom In The United States Since this country s inception, America has been a haven of freedom for all its citizens. Beginning with the Pilgrims, who came to this new world in an effort to escape persecution for the fundamental aspects of their cultural identity. The Pilgrims show, that these freedoms existed even before this country decided to build its country foundation upon them. The men who founded this great nation, looked back in history as they penned what is now known as the Constitution. This unprecedented unionВґs law code was not brought to bear based entirely upon newly created principles. Rather, they employed principles from many other historical documents, including the Magna Carta, and George MasonВґs 1776 Virginia Declaration of Rights. Shortly after the foundation of the country, the requisite for an iron willed leader arose. A retired general was called to the forefront of the newly created Union. General George Washingtonreluctantly accepted the power of the newly created office. In truth, he created the powers afforded to the vocation now known as president, it has even been said he had to decline the title of king. The first president served this country honorably, before stepping down after the conclusion of this second term. He had declined the title of king in name, and would now also decline the role of a despot by staying in power for more than two terms. This set a long precedent of self imposed term limits for presidents to come, a precedent that would last until the modern era of the presidency with President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. This Union was tested again during the Civil War. A time when slavery divided this country greatly. When, a single issue, threatened to break the bonds of patriotism. For it was Benjamin Franklin, who, when asked what type of government the nation would now have after the valiant victory years before in the American Revolution, he said, ВЁA republic, if you can keep it.ВЁ Though, for once in the nation s history, there was a legitimate fear that the bonds of our shared heritage could not save the republic from those that expressed an inclination to exacerbate the minimal contempts between the two factions. The case that stood out to me the most was Mapp vs. Ohio. In 1957, police officers received an anonymous tip that Mapp was hiding a wanted man because he needed to be questioned for a bombing. Then Police officers went to Mapp s house and wanted to search her house. She then denied them entry, because she needed to see a warrant to let them in. After some hours went by, the police officers forcibly entered her home and recalled that they received a warrant. Then they proceeded with the search and found some books, pictures, and photographs in violation of 2905.34 of Ohio s Revised Code. Then during her court trial she appealed her sentence, because they did not receive a valid search warrant and the police officers violated her rights. Even though they found her having possessions that were illegal, they could not hold it against her. The issues with search and seizure are usually towards the issue of violating our rights. One of the rights that we are getting violated is the right if privacy. It is the interest in being free from observation that matters to us, because they always try to know what people are saying and or doing without probable cause. Thus, before reaching freedom there has been some objectivity in attaining freedom such as the slavery of man. This objectivity of slavery has existed in the real world which man dwells within. Assuming that slaveryof man is a big conflict on the medieval era first, we look in a way on how slavery become to start. Looking in a way that where does slavery come from or such a man can be made to be a slave, or rather man is born to be slave. As we think of as a slave on the medieval era, how did man learned to reach the notion of freedom from being slaved. On this paper, what I proposed to do is to examine the nature of slavery between masters and slaves, also to look on the theory of and characteristic of natural slavery. To distinguished between natural and conventional slavery with the comments and stands of St. Thomas Aquinasand Aristotlein connecting to this topic guided by the following questions. First is how can be a man labeled or considered as a slave? What is the concept of freedom of man, if there is slavery? What is the role of man who is a slave during that time? What was the way slave being treated? What is the stand of St. Thomas Aquinas regarding slavery? The Existence Of Extraterrestrial Life Unidentified Flying Objects or UFO sightings have exploded into a worldwide phenomena, but still there are many people who refuse to believe that extraterrestrial life exist. It is hard for some to wrap their head around the idea of little green men from outer space being more advanced in space travel than humans. The earliest UFO sightings in recorded history can be found in 4th century Chinese texts claiming that a moon boat hovered above China every 12 years, and ever since people have been claiming to see or be abducted by UFOs ( M.J. Stephey). Aliens exist because of the amount of planets that can support life, UFOS have been seen all across the world, and there is a FBI agency dedicated to covering up the existence of extraterrestrial life. The fact that NASA has spent years searching for planets that could support life makes people wonder whether there could be life already out there. In 2009 NASA launched the Kepler space telescope hoping to find as many habitable planets as possible. Kepler has found over 1000 exoplanets and confirmed that twelve are within habitable zones. The Soviet Union Of Soviet Republics Since the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991, former Soviet republics have been forced to undertake the harrowing task of achieving stability for their citizens and developing their own identities independent from the former hegemon. Some, such as Poland, have been successful in this regard, while others, such as Georgia, have been less fortunate. For Ukraine, a vast agricultural country with centuries old ties to Russia, answers to the questions of stability and identity have been uncertain ones. In spring 2014, following the Ukrainian Revolution in which pro Russian president Viktor Yanukovych was deposed and replaced by Olexander Turchnyov, Russian forces invaded Crimea after signing an accession treaty on March 18. Throughout the year, this conflict escalated with violence between pro Russian militants along with Russian forces and Ukrainian military and thousands of deaths. The violence in Crimea, where Russians have an ethnic majority of 58%, and eastern Ukraine began to dissipate in late September when Russian military commenced a withdrawal from Ukraine. Today, the book is published under Speak, an imprint of Penguin Group. The book has a total of a hundred and eighty pages. The Outsiders fits in the genre of young adult fiction because it relates to teens on emotional levels. Like Ponyboy, the teen protagonist of the story, teens relate to his emotional growth as he tries to piece his life together. The story follows a rivalry in a socially divided community. The Greasers are a gang of teenage boys who live on the east side of town; the wrong side of town. Their rivals, the Socials, better known as the Socs; come from the wealthier side of town. The two groups are always head to head with one another, seeking a fight. Ponyboy belongs to the Greasers. He is the youngest out of the three brothers in his family. Apart from his brothers, Ponyboy hangs out with Johnny, Dallas, Two Bit and others who are also Greasers. The rivalry between the two groups heightens when Johnny kills Bob, a Soc, in an attempt to save Ponyboy from drowning. Ећar (2014: 171 179) states that research into patients with dissociatve disorders report the highest prevalance of childhood abuse and/or neglect of all mental health disorders and asserts that dissociationcan result from deep rooted developmental stress. This project will concentrate on the links in developmental trauma with the forming of dissociative traits and discuss whether dissociation is essentially related to the developing self. An in depth look at what is developmental trauma and the aetiology of dissociation will be covered. Using clinical examples, the implications for clinical practice in child psychotherapy will be considered. There is not scope here to look at each dissociative phenomena in great depth so this project will concentrate on dissociation as a whole. Developmental Trauma, the Key Aspects Trauma or traumata as described in Rycroft (1995) are experiences which disrupt or pervert development. • 33. Disadvantages Of Web-Based Learning Web based learning leads to the change in roles of teachers and students in learning processes. This is due to the fact that web based learning applies the concept of learner centered approach in learning. To compare, in traditional ways of teaching and learning, teachers played a big role, which was as the giver or provider of knowledge (Web based Learning: Good or Bad?). Students during that time depended solely on teachers to give information about the topics covered in every subject that they were learning. It is understandable because technology during that time was not as advanced as the technology that we have nowadays. Therefore, another way of students to gain additional information about a particular subject was by going to libraries.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As stated in the article of Orientation to Web based Learning , unlike in traditional way in learning which assesses students achievement through oral and written examinations, web based learning introduces more innovative approach, such as through forums, online quizzes and e portfolio (Web based Learning: Good or Bad?). This new assessment approach does not only encourage students be more creative, for example in conducting a forum, but also helps them to improve their soft skills, especially communication skills and computer skills. This will then lead to the change in role of teachers as those new assessment approach stated earlier would be able to overcome the issue of examination oriented teaching , which only strives for students academic excellence in examination. Teachers can now focus on helping students to pass their examinations with flying colors, as well as polish their soft skills, such as leadership and cooperative skills, in order to produce well balanced students academically and socially. Hence, it can be concluded that application of web based learning has led to change in the role of teachers and students in learning processes. Such as the IPhone SE, my very first phone and my very favorite. There are many reasons to love the IPhone SE, for example, its price, size, camera and battery. Even though these are reasons to love the IPhoneSE, these examples come with benefits, then also come with cons. My first review about the IPhone SE is about the price. It is around 400 or 500 dollars, which in my opinion should be a little less money than what it is, such as 200 or 300 dollars, but what would make it cost this much is the updates. First off, according to many websites and businesses the IPhone SE s battery lasts about 9.5 hours, and the IPhone 6s battery only lasts 7.45 hours. Which is great for people who take their phones everywhere and need them. Also, even if the battery runs low, say 20%, the battery saver that you can turn on for your phone could make it last almost twice as long as it should, which is also a great thing to have for your phone, but if your tabs are open on your IPhone, it makes the battery drain very fast. The amount of tabs you have open can affect the battery by about 20%, but the solution to that is easy; just close your tabs! The final review I had in mind is about the camera quality. On many websites I have read that the IPhone SE quality is not the best and could use some work, but I believe otherwise. Let s start with the zoom: The camera zoom I would say has exceptionally good quality, even though Apple decided to keep the front facing camera on the iPhone SE practically identical to the iPhone 5s. One problem about the camera is the sometimes blurriness that happens. Say you were on a trip and you saw some spectacular bird fly across your view and you had only a few seconds to get the perfect picture, so you whip out your phone and are ready to take the picture when you notice the screen is blurry. You try so hard to get it unblurred but the camera cannot focus one the one object you want the picture ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

We will see a direct correlation between events in his life and the plays and techniques that he propagated. After the war Brecht went to Munich to find work in the theatre and then on to Berlin, where he stayed. He quickly got to know the main actors and directors of the time and soon became involved in directing and performing. He gathered a group of friends who worked with him and on his behalf, thus began his habit of collaborating with others. In the 1920 s Brecht married Helene Weigel who remained his wife for the rest of his life. He also wrote these three plays: Drums in the Night, In The Jungle of the Cities and Baal. • 42. Spanish Caste System Essay Through the racial caste system of the Spanish Colonial Era, it is known that the people of mixed race and dark skin of the time were viewed as inferior by the Spaniards. This inferiority complex was mainly due to one group of people oppressing another. The irony behind this instance is that it was the minority oppressing the majority. Another factor behind the success of the caste system was internalized oppression, or, in other words, one group of people oppressing themselves. Through accepting this perspective of thinking and contributing to the society that surrounded them, these mixed race people ended up adding fuel to the fire of their oppression. According to Martha Menchaca, author of Recovering History, Reconstructing Race, self oppression came because of the vacancy of leadership positions in New Spain. At the core, this vacancy gave those who were not pure Spaniards the opportunity to achieve a greater sense of social acceptance. In her book, Menchaca states that while these people of color did, to an extent, succeed in improving their quality of life, the tyrannical narrative was never really changed. Furthermore, it was this search for a better life that created the foundation for what is now Mexicotoday. People of color were oppressed from the very beginning of the colonial movement. During the test, there is a box at the bottom of the screen that contains a single symbol number pair. Pairings at the bottom change and at times match the pairing in the key at the top. Other times the pairing is incorrect. During the learning phase, the participant indicates whether or not the pairings at the bottom match the key and receives feedback for incorrect responses. The two texts, On the Waterfront directed by Elia Kazan, and The Crucible written by Arthur Miller, both exhibit a protagonist that is plagued by their sins and desperately seeks redemption. Through Terry Malloy s life on the Hoboken waterfront of 1950 s America, and John Proctors in the Puritan society of 1962 Salem, it is clear that the act of expiating our wrongs is demanding and difficult but finally satisfying. Both texts show similarities but also differences in how the characters have sinned and betrayed their conscience and loved ones. The taxing journey of redemption is full of obstacles in which each texts protagonist deals with in their own unique but alike manner. Despite these unavoidable hardships, both Proctor and Malloy ultimately receive their desired redemption and gratifying outcomes. Thus, both texts show how life s uncertainties, confusions and wrongdoings should be dealt with humanity and a clear conscience instead of fulfilling individual needs. Both texts depict an antihero who committed an irreversible sin, sinking them into despair, and leaving them craving for salvation. However, there is much more to cloning than creating an identical person from the original. A clone is defined to be a cell or organism that is genetically indistinguishable to the original cell or organism from which it is acquired (Rogers, 2015). Cloning was introduced in 1903 by Herbert J. Webber, who was an American plant scientist and used cloning in reference to plants that had been assembled through asexual propagation by horticultural methods. Plants that are propagated asexually, whether from twigs or cuttings of other parts or from bulbs or buds, are exact genetic replicas of their parent plant (Rogers, 2015). In nature, cloning happens all the time. Thesis: There are many different topics to cloning other than the subject that began the idea of cloning. Over the years, the topics of human cloning and animal cloning have been discussed bringing debate on ethical issues and whether there are any advantages or disadvantages. Animal cloning is a process by which a complete organism is replicated from a single cell extracted from the parent organism and in a manner in which they are genetically the same (Cloning, 2017).
