A Consideration of the Way Shakespeare Presents and Develops the Theme of Blindness in
King Lear Introduction ============ Throughout King Lear , Shakespeare uses the play s
characters to make judgements on society using blindness as a metaphor that runs through the
play. He does this in a number of ways portraying characters that can be fooled by others flattery,
or are easily manipulated or deceived, or simply have a lack of wisdom. As well as the horrific
physical blinding of Gloucester, blindness is used as a metaphor for characters lack of insight,
moral blindness, and a lack of perception into other s needs and interests. Shakespeare illustrates the
importance of seeing yourself... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Unlike Albany, Cornwall has great insight into other characters and uses this to his advantage by
manipulating and deceiving others. Cornwall however is morally blind, and unable to see the
wrong of his actions. The outcome of Cornwall s blindness is his death, his own servant turns on
him, just as he turned on his host and his king. Shakespeare illustrates poetic justice, in the
downfall of Cornwall. To counterbalance Cornwall s corruption, Albany grows in moral strength
and gains awareness of justice and virtue. Like Albany, Edgar s character develops throughout the
play, he must suffer as Tom O Bedlam to truly understand Edmond s trickery and more importantly
himself. He reverts into a state of oblivion, and denies himself personality, money, food, and his
position in society. From this state of nothingness, he builds his character, and so is no longer blind
to himself, therefore can more easily start to understand the intentions of those around him. Edgar
builds his character to the extent that by the end of the play, Shakespeare illustrates to the audience
that he has the most insight and rewards him with the title of King. Lear is blind and irresponsible
as father and ruler, he is preoccupied with appearances, he wishes to retain the trappings of majesty

Orthodox Religion
Origin and founders
The Orthodox consider their origin to be the same as the Catholic origin. Their history is the same
as Catholic history as it is recorded in Acts of the Apostles, written by the apostle Luke. Their
history follows the Old testament, and they believe theirs is the church founded by Jesus
(Shmeman). The Orthodox church separated from the Catholic church after centuries of division
and disagreements between the two. The leaders of the Western and Eastern churches
excommunicated each other in 1054, in addition to many other issues relating to politics as well as
than theology. For the common people, the rift began to form when the Western Church pillaged
Constantinople during the fourth crusade. The Patriarch of Antioch, ... Show more content on

These 13 accepted autocephalous churches have the right to solve all their own problems internally
and to elect their own head bishops. They are separate yet they remain in communion with each
other through the sacraments and the canon (Roberson). The Patriarchate of Constantinople is
recognized as the primus inter pares , or first among equals. However, this title is one of honor
rather than actual supremacy over the other Patriarchates, unlike the Pope (Wikipedia). The
Patriarchate of Constantinople does assert that he is the only one who can grant autocephaly to a
church. However, this has not always been respected, so there are churches that were granted
autocephaly by another Patriarchate. There are four original eastern patriarchates: Constantinople,
Alexandria, Antioch, and Jerusalem. There have been nine other churches who posses
unchallenged autocephaly. There are several churches whose autocephaly is disputed

The Pros And Cons Of Kid Care
The very words Kid Care can make an abundance of feeling when the subject is raised. Watching
over a tyke is a standout amongst the most imperative things anybody can do. Taking legitimate
care of a youngster can mean the distinction being developed between a composed and mal
balanced grown up. Tons of words have been composed regarding the matter of tyke care and today
tyke mind itself has developed into an immense industry.
Tremendous changes have occurred throughout the last two eras concerning the route in which
youngsters are administered to. A long time back the tyke s mom assumed sole liability for raising
her tyke (aside from those youngsters whose guardians were well sufficiently off to utilize a
babysitter or a tutor) while these ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This alternative has gotten to be something of a minefield because of genuinely late prominent
cases in which a babysitter has physically hurt a kid in her care. Different cases have really
brought about the demise of the child by the caretaker departed in control. It must be underscored
that these cases are extremely uncommon for sure and are not agent at all of the dominant part of
tyke care attempted by caretakers. A legitimate office providing babysitters has strict principles

and will be circumspectly followed up. In the event that the references are not acceptable, the
caretaker won t be prescribed for that specific opportunity or some other.
An area of childcare regularly underestimated is that of grandparents who are glad to dedicate
incalculable hours taking care of their grandchildren. Stupendous guardians offer one of the
absolute best types of childcare, basically in view of the connection amongst them and their
grandchildren whom they look on as their own. What s more, this type of childcare as a rule

Elgin Marbles Essay
The case of cultural artifacts being divided from their origins is not a new issue to arise in the art
community. The Parthenon (Elgin) Marbles are a source of controversy between modern Britain
and Greece. The Parthenon, and its sculptures/marbles, have a history that stretches back 2500
years, when it was built to honour a goddess of wisdom, Athena. The Parthenonhas been a Christian
church and a Muslim mosque, but has been ruined since 1687, when gunpowder stored inside
exploded and attackers bombarded the structure. Over the centuries the stones which both
constituted and adorned the Parthenon had been damaged. Documentation of the history. The

not be placed in the same conditions that they were in previously, but given a new home in at the

place them back on the Parthenon because it is now in ruins. The Greeks would be willing to allow
the marbles to visit to different well known museums, such as the British Museum. It has been a
concern out the Greece is in economic turmoil and deals with heavy pollution. Those excuses
however are weak in that London also deals with pollution themselves. The marbles would be well

Arguments Against Dinosaurs
Argument 1
It is said that there has been rare and precious Dinosaur bones discovered in the Eromanga sea,
this almost proves that Dinosaurs once roamed around the shores. Also many of the significant
events in Geological history, over the past 600 million years can be observed at Hallett Cove.
Some of the oldest rocks have been found in these seas. The finding of the Ediacaran could
potentially mean that there can be dinosaur fossils found in the ocean, or even that relatives of the
ediacaran could be considered fossils and could be found in the sea.
Although the Ediacaran period was well before the first appearance of dinosaurs it shows that there
were fossils many years ago. When dinosaurs first appeared things had changed there was still
shallow water which meant that bones could be fossilized. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The reason for this is because a sedimentary rock is mainly because it is the only rock that would
be able to keep the fossils form. If a fossil was to be in a metamorphic rock in would be deformed
because i metamorphic rock needs pressure which would then flatten the fossil. If it was to be in
an igneous rock the fossil would melt because an igneous rock is created from hot lava from

Persuasive Essay On Tuition Fee
Persuasive Essay Tuition Fee
Have you ever wondered, why more graduated students aren t going to universities and colleges
because, every year, their tuition fee are always increasing? The cost for attending a variety of
universities and colleges programs are students responsibilities, that they need to pay to learn.
Every year, our tuition fee is always increasing that we always wonder why. In 2001, the average
for one year in Ontario was about 3,500 to 5,500 but to this year our average tuition fee for one
year is 7,200 to 10,800. Universities and Colleges should decrease their tuition fee.
At first, we should decrease the tuition fee because it s unfair for the cost of international students.
For the cost of an International student is three to four times more expensive than a Canadian
student. In 2017, for one year in University our average cost for Canadian student is $8,454 but for
International student average cost is $25,180. In College, their tuition fee is based on what
program their choosing but, it s the same that they need to pay three to four times more expensive.
Therefore, when they don t have enough money to pay, they don t have the opportunity to borrow
money from OSAP that they need to borrow money from banks. When they return back their
money to the bank it s not the same as OSAP. In OSAP, when they return their money to them, they
don t need to pay them back with interests but for banks you ll need to pay back interests, which
that depends on their

Healthcare reform Essay
The United States should have Universal Health Care
Comp II
The United States should have Universal Health Care
Virtually 50 million Americans are presently without any health insurance, and a great number of
them with health insurance are struggling to pay for their medical bills. Everybody concurs that
healthcare must be accessible to all citizens, but the debate on whether the United States should
adopt a universal health system still rages. According to the Institute of Medicine (2002), the U.S. is
the only developed country that does not guarantee that its citizens have health care coverage.
President Obama pledged to reform the country s healthcare system by increasing health coverage
and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Moreover, there are already existing laws in the country that demand emergency rooms for patients
if they lack any insurance. This expenses the hospital finance that they convey to clients and
insurance firms. Under universal health care program, those people that usually go without
insurance cover would be demanded to pay for it through taxes. This concept of cost distribution
would reduce the individual costs of people currently paying for insurance. It is worth noting that
this system of taxation resembles the shared costs of schooling, road construction, or even space
exploration (Burke, Diego Semelka, 2012).
Opponents of universal healthcare system assert that the program would be damaging to the quality
of health services, although researchers have established that the country s healthcare structure is
not superior to those of various developed countries that offer universal health care (Garber
Skinner, J2008). In relation to the same research, the United States is ranked second last in terms
of the number of practicing physicians. Moreover, the country has less than the normal number of
hospital beds and period of stay for severe care. The expense of the country s healthcare per
individual is $8,000 more than Netherlands, Norway,

Alexander Hamilton was one of the key, founding figures of the Federalist, a political party who
believed in a strong, national government. However, Aaron Burr considered himself a Democratic
Republican, a political party who favored for the states to have more power than the national
government; in other words, both men believed in the exact opposite for the government of the
United States. As a result, Hamilton and Burr disagreed on many things, resulting in a great
amount of animosity towards each other. The duel was held on Wednesday, July 11, 1804 in
Weehawken, New Jersey. The choice of weapon for the duel was a pistol chosen by Hamilton since
he was the one challenged. Again since he was the challenged, Hamilton had the choice of position,
so he chose a place located upstream. However, that would include one of many mistakes that
would cost him his life. As both men shot at each other, only one was hit. Shot in a fatal location,
Hamilton was hit on his right side, right above his hip. Ellis states, Hamilton himself recognized his
own condition almost immediately...Meanwhile, Burr seemed surprised and regretful at the
outcome of his shot (25). The two eyewitnesses at the time, Pendleton and Van Ness, decided to
make a Joint Statement in which they stated that both men upheld the code duello ,

The Electronic Health Records
Being able to tell about the roots of where the Electronic Health Records come from the paper will
now look at the benefits of the system. The Electronic Health Records areis defined as, electronic
version of a patientspatient s medical history, that is maintained by the provider over time, and may
include all of the key administrative clinical data relevant to that persons care under a particular
provider, including demographics, progress notes, problems, medications, vital signs, past medical
history, immunizations, laboratory data and radiology reports The EHR automates access to
information and has the potential to streamline the clinician s workflow. (CentresCentre s for
Medicare Medicaid Services 2012) With the EHR s there are a lot of mixed emotions towards it
being beneficial or not useful however the good outweighs the bad in this case. The EHRs have
taken care of the duty of physically transporting paper records from clinic, to hospital, to lab and
also the chore of having to re write medical paper records every time of going into a new medical
setting. Also for patients that need their clinicians to access their forms it can be now easily at
hand for them as well, making it less of a hassle to looking up a patientspatient s medical history.
The Electronic Health records also allow for physicians to make notes on a patientspatient s page
about his or her prescriptions or any other information that other physicians should know about
them before assessing

Information Technology Infrastructure Of Shiv Llc Company
Introduction
This document is a proposal for the setup and implementation of the Information Technology
infrastructure of Shiv LLC company. The document covers the technologies to be used in
implementing a multi location infrastructure that will aid the business processes of the three
different locations of Shiv LLC which are at Los Angeles, Dallas and Houston. Owing to the
prospects of a rapid growth, the designs proposed in this document are flexible enough to allow
room for future expansion and scaling. This proposal document was prepared with an assumption
that there will be sufficient funds to procure all the equipment necessary to fully implement the
considerations put forward in the document.
Active Directory
Active directory enable computers on the same Local Area Network (LAN) to communicate with

How Does Fatty Acid Contribute To The Production Of Glucose
An individual engaged in vigorous exercise demands much more energy than a sedentary
individual. The supplied energy during a 100 meter sprint or a marathon run comes at a cost,
which is the production of ATP (Hill et al.). At the beginning of exercise the body relies on the
glycogen stores in muscle that aids in ATP production. Eventually, glucose
levels in muscles begin
to decrease as the activity continues, it s also thought that insufficient glucose causes tiredness
(Hill et al.) . Glucose must be provided continuously in order to satisfy one s energy demands.
Consequently, glucose is delivered by blood to the muscles. Fatty acids also contribute to the
process of generating energy when glucose levels are low, which are broken down to

Youngsters with special educational needs are kids first and have much in like manner with other

The Legacy Of Jesse Owens And The American Dream
Watch Me.. You Won t
The world record holder Jesse Owens digs his own starting blocks into the cinder track, Ready,
Set, Go. Jesse sprints the 100 meters and gains one of four gold medals. Jesse Owens is one of
the greatest track athletes that ever lived. He ran jumped and in his later career even won against
horses. Many called him the fastest man alive. Although some may say Jesse Owens did not change
America s position on racism, he was an influential and controversial person because he made the
American Dream and did what no one expected.
Some might say Jesse Owens is not controversial because he did not change the racism in
America. Jesse Owens said When I came back to my native country, after all the stories about

Twenty-First Century Christianity
First century Christians founded their new identity on the understanding of being sinners, saved
through Christ Jesus, and true people of God. The Jews had a misinterpretation of the coming of
the Messiah and they did not acknowledge his resurrection and believed Jesus was cursed by God
for being crucified. It was a necessity for the Apostles to preach the Gospelwith truth and bring
awareness to the people of the true interpretation of scripture. The Apostles pleaded the people to
get saved (2:40) and acknowledging their sin by repenting and get baptized (2:37 38). The
opportunity of repentance is a gift of Gods mercy and grace to nullify our understanding and pride.
Israelites considered themselves God s holy people (22:3; 26:4 5) but they were sinning in
ignorance (3:17). I am a sinner in nature and I will either sin intentionally or unintentionally.
Through JesusChrist crucifixion and resurrection, I am able to repent and ask for forgiveness
with the confidence that my sins will be wiped out (3:19). Repentance and being able to be

We can observe a little bit of blue on the globe that the children are holding, which represents the
ocean, but also we can observe it on the children s body, with another meaning. The dark blue is the
color of truth and moderation. The turquoise, found on the hair of the boy is the symbol of youth,
and also the color of communication. It contains the growth quality of green with the blue quality
of communication. Finally, the aqua is the color of high ideals.
Brown and green are other colors found in the art. Combined, they represent wholesomeness and
earthiness. They can signify growth and represent the simplicity, friendliness, dependability,
renewal, and environment.

Essay On Popular Vote
Imagine you re six years old with dreams about being the president of The United States of
America. Now you are a senior in High School watching the current U.S. Election take place with
hopes slowly diminishing. In all reality you realize that the opportunity to become the President
might never actually happen.
The resources that are necessary to be a candidate for the Democratic or Republican Party are
outrageous. For starters, you need a stockpile of money just to have the ability to campaign across
the country. Let s be honest, most people across this country aren t even rich enough to afford a
cross country trip, let alone make campaign stops along the way. Another major key to winning an
election is your popularity with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The vote for a U.S. presidential candidates made by the qualified voters (Popular Vote. NP).
Qualified voters vary state to state, but most include being an American Citizen, no felony record,
and up to date driver s license. Although this vote may be important, the popular vote doesn t have
any real effect on the outcome of the election. Those who are less informed than others may be lead
to believe that the popular vote determines the outcome of the elections. Instead it can only give us
an idea of who we might be seeing in the White House this coming November. Presidential
candidate campaign all across the country directing all of their resources towards the common
people. But why? If their vote doesn t count than you would be lead to believe that the
campaigning would be a waste of valuable resources that could be put towards other more urgent
business. Although we don t vote directly towards the election of our President the way we vote
can have a dramatic effect on who our delegates vote for. The second type of vote, and the
broadest Is the delegate votes for political parties. In America, there are two major parties, the
Republicans and Democrats. There are a few other parties out there, but none resemble the power
that the Republicans and Democrats have. Within each of these parties, official delegates are
appointed to nominate the final candidates for their party, prior to the election. In order to win the
republican nomination, you need 1100 delegate votes. The democratic nomination requires about
2100. (Dirks

The Movie Signs Of 2002
I m reviewing the movie Signs from 2002 by M.Night Shyamalan. This is a Science fiction
movie because involves aliens, but it doesn t show them very much. This story takes place
mainly on a farm, and a small town where the main character lives. The main character, and owner
of the farm is Rev. Graham Hess. Hess is not a Reverent any more. On the farm he is alone because
he lost his familyon a car accident. The loss of his wife was hard, but he had to be strong for his son
and daughter. The guy that killed his wife was a person he knew.
The story starts when on a morning the son of Hess discovered some signs on the crops. They
thought that was really weird, so they called the police. The police just starts telling them that

Graham Hess). Joaquin Phoenix ( Merrill Hess). M.Night Shyamalan as ( Ray Reddy). I think
the choose this character because they are really good actors. Even do the actors are good the
movie is bad. The movie is bad because is supposed to be about aliens, but it doesn t show them
very much. Also because the end has nothing to do with the beginning. So this movie is just terrible
because is terrible.
I don t know why anyone should see this movie. I think this because it has nothing to do about
aliens. I said this because is not actually what I expected. I say this because I expected action or a
war, but that didn t happen. Also because it didn t show the aliens. In my opinion is also very
boring because it doesn t gets the attention of the viewers. It doesn t get the attention of the viewers
because it doesn t get into the interesting part. So this is a horrible movie.
In my opinion I think no one would like this movie because is really bad. The people that like
aliens would not like this movie because it has nothing to do with them. The rating of this movie is
PG 13. In my opinion I don t think why this movie it rated PG 13 because is not even scary. I also
think this movie is really boring like I said before. My final review grade is **/***** because is
not that good. So if you like alien s movie don t watch this one. Also is really bad

Business Model And Strategic Plan
Business Model and Strategic Plan Part I:
When it comes to a successful company or organization, having a mission, vision and valuable
actions end up making an organizations strategic plan. Companies continue to have their
corporates in their businesses use tactical strategies and make them into pursuable goals to be
reached at the end. While researching for a business to write about I came across a very popular
retail store by the name of Kohl s and will be discussing different areas including the mission and
vision statement of each different document that will end up being useful to the company when

There are many areas that kohl s focuses on and that is also including their consideration for the
overall social responsibility of the company as having a general consideration for ethics and
cultures. By seeking deeper and evaluation Kohl s mission and their vision as well as their values
will at the end bring a perspective to the company and their strategic direction at the end.
Kohl s Mission Statement:
Our mission is to be the leading family focused, value oriented specialty department store offering
quality exclusive and national brand merchandise to the customer in an environment that is
convenient, friendly and exciting Kohl s is a business that ends up providing a good amount of
different products as well as services to communities that are based on low and middle class
consumers which makes their products affordable and that is the reason why people keep going
back. Kohl s has basically everything you can possibly need all located in one store providing
products such as clothes, electronics, houseware and etc. Kohl s also has a great online customer
service as well as everyday deal advertisements that include free shipping. I read a quote regarding
general popular retail environment stated by a man named Josiah Burks that when it comes to
economists the world has been introduced to stores like Walmart who has taken over the retail
environment leading to having Walmart giving the whole retail

The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night-Time Was By...
The article The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time Was written by Mark Haddon. In
this article Mark Haddon explains how he came upon writing the novel The Curious Incident of
the Dog in the Night Time. He starts off by describing that the novel is based on a seemingly
unlikely murder. He then describes how the story is told from the perspective of a 15 year old boy
named Christopher. The thing that makes Christopher different from everyone else however, is that
he is autistic. He is very intelligent, and has a superbly logical brain which makes this novelunlike
any other. Finally Mark Haddon ends this article by giving a story behind his life and why he
came about writing the novel. He explains how he grew up working with autistic people and
found it to be very intriguing. His purpose behind publishing this novel was to inform people of
what it is like to look through the eyes of a 15 year old autistic boy. In paragraph 2 of the article
The Curious Incident of the Dogin the Night Time Mark Haddon explains Christopher as although
he knows all the countries of the world and their capitals, he has little understanding of human
emotions. He loves animals,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Containerization and the Effects on The Cities and Ports of San Francisco and Oakland
The effects of containerization are arguably as far reaching as they are underappreciated. When
considering technologies that changed the world, it is easy to quickly think of the internet and
computers easing the speed of communication across the world. Although not as glamorous, the
advent of the steel container is at the core of today s global economy, responsible for accelerating
the transfer of goods from place to place cheaply, efficiently and effectively. Containers are the
physical means of exploiting cheap labor around the world and the cornerstone invention of the
modern worldwide supply chain. The extent to which the container matters to the ... Show more

San Francisco primarily relied on the backbreaking manual labor of longshoremen to load and
unload ships that came through the port, a profession that had existed unchanged for hundreds of
years. Officials beliefs that containers were a passing fad, in combination with the lack of
investment and acreage required for the new technology, allowed the Port of San Francisco, and its
longshoremen, to fade into history, just as its neighbor, the Port of Oakland emerged as a
sophisticated leading container port. The migration of the maritime industry across the bay
dramatically altered and restructured the economies of both San Francisco and Oakland. Similarly,
their waterfronts were forever transformed.
After World War II, the US economy boomed, while the maritime industry did not. The merchant
fleet had been commandeered aby the government when the United States entered the war, and did
not return to private ownership until two years after it ended, in 1947. Coastline shipping stagnated
at prewar levels, while trucking grabbed the market share of domestic transportation. A cargoship
typically would spend as much time in port being loaded and unloaded as in transit, and was
therefore unreasonably expensive. Despite this, there was relatively little competition for larger
American ship lines since foreign lines were barred from coastal and island service. However
inefficient and costly,

Analysis Of Never Just Pictures By Susan Bordo
Never Just Pictures highlights the severity of the growing eating disorder epidemic in America by
relating it to the plaguing fashion industry. The values instilled by the fashion industry, according
to Susan Bordo, author of this essay, desire one thing: a profit. Bordo believes it is irresponsible of
the industry to remain with its back turned on the issue of eating disorders, and the essay discusses
the ways they are doing so. The essay begins by establishing a setting. Bordo mentions the scrutiny
that Clueless star Alicia Silverstone faced when she appeared at the Academy Awards...more

A key aspect of this essay is the exposition of the main problem behind it. Bordo believes that
Americans are far too caught up in the premise that being skinny means you will be healthy and
that possessing fat is the work of the devil (Bordo). Part of this problem is the way America sees
health. She relates much of it to something small scale. During the 1996 Summer Olympics, held
in Atlanta, the media reported heavily on the beauty of the muscular bodies of the competitors.
Of course this motivated so many Americans and people around the world to want to look just
like them. But this is not possible without encountering issues that everyone in America faces.
These people do not look the way they do because of genetics. They did everything they could to
look like this. Bordo s point is eating disorders are not exclusive to normal people. She claims that
there is no way that a nineteen female gymnast is maintaining her skimpy level of body fat without
an eating disorder. According to Bordo, there is growing evidence of it

Resolving conflict is a management strategy where businesses should learn to study and practice
conflict management skills to keep up a positive work environment (Reina, 2010).
Hitchcock Verheij (2006) stated that the Toulmin Model of Argumentation declares that most of the
arguments involve the following six elements:
1.Claim
2.Grounds
3.Warrant: A warrant connects the information with the grounds in response to the claim, which
legitimize the claim by depicting the grounds to be significant. The warrant answers the claim
question whether it is true or not
4.Backing: Backing (or support) for an argument gives additional support to the warrant by
answering different questions.
5.Qualifiers and reservations: the qualifier (or modal qualifier) indicates the strength of the leap
from the data to the warrant and may limit how universally the claim applies.
6.Rebuttal
Arguments in the workplace can be tricky yet there is a technique to solve them. Arguments can be
analyzed effectively by the use of the Toulmin Model of Argumentation.

Homo Sapien Human Evolution
Charles Darwin stated that the evolution of man would take not thousands of years but millions of
years. In the case of the human species (Homo sapien) evolutionary theory posits that this has been
the case. Human evolution begins with the primate lineage which also includes new and old world
monkeys, and apes (Phelan, 2015). It is important to note that researchers have determined that the
chimpanzee is the humans closest living relative. While, humans and chimpanzees have similar
genetic and anatomical structure which signifies a close evolutionrelationship, it is also important
to note the anatomical differences that distinguish Homo sapiens. Unlike chimpanzees, humans
evolved toward bipedalism, grew larger brains and eventually became bigger in size (Phelan, 2015).
As Darwin suggested humanevolution has branched down for millions of years and thus has many
significant events that result in the human beings that we are today.... Show more content on

Hunger In The Hunger Game
In the novel Hunger Game, author Suzanne Collins narrates a girl name Katniss Everdeen who
voluntarily replaces her younger sister, Prime, to be one of the tribute to participate in the hunger
game. She is the family s backbone after her father died in a mining accident. The district only
gave them a small compensation but it s not enough to support her family s living. Soon, they run
out of money and suffer from hunger. They live in the District 12 where it s a poor and food
shortage region. People often suffer from hunger and Katniss is of no exception. In one section
of the story, Katniss could not trade old baby clothes for food or find food from trash bins. She
passes by a bakery one day and she is extremely hungry:
When I passed the baker s, the smell of fresh bread was so overwhelming I felt dizzy. The ovens
were in the back, and a golden glow spilled out the open kitchen door. I stood mesmerized by the
heart and the luscious scent until the rain interfered, running its icy fingers down my back, forcing
me back to life. (Collins 29)
Katniss is immersed in the smell of the aromas of bread, and although she is close to the bakery,
she is not able to eat the fresh bread. For her, the fresh bread will only be for viewing sensation
rather than tasting sensation, and I have a similar experience as Katniss who often suffer
hunger. As I read this section of Katniss, it reminds me that I was an acrobatic school in my 13
years old. Everyone attending the school had extraordinarily strict dietary restriction. Chocolates,
chips, breads, cookies are snacks that were prohibited. Rice and noodle were limited to only a
small amount for eating, because they are high carb and high starch food. We were only allowed
low calorie food to maintain our physiques even though we were extremely active and were
required to practice acrobatics on a regular basis. We didn t eat enough food before our physical
training, because we might vomit if we eat too much. Although these snacks were my favorite, I
could not eat them due to strict rules. I was only able to enjoy them through the senses of seeing
and smelling to satisfy my emotional need for these comfort foods. At the age of 17, six acrobatics,

Harriet, Lizzie, Eliza, and Dred Scott were his slaves. Dred Scott wanted to challenge this. Due
to the Missouri Compromise, Illinois and the territory where Dr. Emerson had taken Dred Scott
and purchased Harriet, were free (Independence Hall Association 2013). Dred Scott sued his
owner, John Sandford, for assaulting himself, and his family. Scott openly admitted he was born
a slave and of African descent, but he also argued that once his owner took him and his family to
a free state and territory to exist in, his family became free from slavery. And since they were
free when Sandford moved them back to Missouri, Scott claimed it was illegal for Sandford to
assault him and his family. Scott also claimed he should be legally considered a citizen by the state.
These are the ideas on which Scott pursued to sue Sandford. His declaration specifically had three
counts: that Sandford assaulted Dred Scott that Sandford had assaulted Harriet,

Chinese Buddhism
Buddhism traveled from India through the Silk Road and Central Asia to northern China in the first
century C.E. At that time the Chinese believed in Confucian values also known as the Chinese

were inherent differences between the Buddhist beliefs and practices and traditional Confucius
beliefs practiced by the Chinese. These differences are captured in the three sources which are

The passage articulated how increase in Buddhism has created more priests and temples at the cost
of work and family values. The spread of Buddhism lead to exhaustion of resources of the Empire

Huge amounts of money instead of going into farming and business went into building temples and

the power of state but he tried to balance both Buddhism and Chinese values. Zhenguan and

The total DFPR production time for an order was determined to be 47.40 minutes, which
equated to a daily capacity of 10.13 orders (81 boards). Further analysis of DFPR production times
(as shown in Exhibit 6) revealed that production time increases at a decreasing rate as order size
increased. Additionally, daily DFPR capacity, as measured in number of boards, increases at an
increasing rate as the order size is increased (See Exhibit 7). This correlates to DFPR production
time per board being significantly reduced as the order size is increased.
Thus, it is easy to see why a bottleneck might sometimes occur in the DFPR area of there are
several small orders going through back to back. If viewed in the same manner as costs in
economics, the setup time in this operation can be viewed as a fixed cost incurred regardless of
production amount. The rum time can be viewed as variable costs that are incurred at an
incremental rate as production is increased. Thus, smaller orders have a higher percentage of their
production time represented by setup time (fixed) as opposed to run time (variable).

A last useful analysis is to examine the standard labor times required for various order sizes.

Montessori Obedience Essay
The power to obey is the last phase in the development of the will, which in its turn has made
obedience possible. (Montessori, 1988, p.239)
Montessori believed that the disorderly and disobedient acts of a young child where from those
actions that he/she had yet to develop and so where unable to control successfully.
Discipline and obedience could not therefore be inflicted on a young child as had been traditionally
thought, nor could it be sustained through rewards and punishments. Obedience is seen as
something which develops in the child in much the same way as other aspects of his character.

When he/she is finished with the activity, he/she returns the apparatus back to its allocated place,
keeping the order within the environment. All the materials contain a control of error, avoiding the
need for a teacher to highlight the child s mistake, allowing him/her the freedom to correct himself
/herself, with out the need for adult intervention. He/she is then left and allowed the freedom to
carry out his/her task, as many times as he/she wants, for as long as he/she wants without any
unnecessary interruptions.
With this constant cycle of activity begins a process and through the many repetitions of the
exercise the child gradually becomes aware, and conscious of his/her actions that his/her hands are
performing. Through this awareness, his/her actions can no longer be considered a product of an
inner desire, but have become actions performed with a consciousness and deliberation.
That which at first was but a vital impulse (horme) has become a deliberate act. The child s first
movements where instinctive. Now he acts consciously and voluntarily and with this comes the
awakening of the spirit. (Montessori, 1988, p.231)
From observations made by Maria Montessori we have come to the understanding that discipline
is a maturational process and can not be present in a child who has yet to develop his/her own will.

Your Writing Style Essay
Your Writing Style
How can one person know what good style is when writing a paper? Where is it written that we
as students should have to follow specific guidelines while writing? Anyone wanting to make their
writing clear, precise, and simply correct will usually try following some type of guideline, or
book in order to perfect their own writing style. After reading both The Elements of Style by Strunk
and White, and also Williams s Style toward Clarity and Grace I can see why teachers discuss these
books as tools for correcting and perfecting their students writing, and style. While at the same time

Instead of calling these books rule books they should be called suggestive writing tip books.
Whereas, before someone thought if they did not follow the rule they were breaking it, now they
can feel they are simply choosing to ignore some advice that may or may not have been helpful to
them. This helps them to understand that not every time they break a rule is wrong, sometimes
choosing to ignore the advice can have positive effects on their writing. Strunk and White, and
Williams use very different approaches when addressing the issue of style.
Strunk and White, apply more of a straight forward approach strictly telling the reader to follow
their rules word for word. Although, many students and teachers believe it is a mystery why they
choose the rules in style that they put into their book. Are these places where students have the
most trouble with their style, and diction? If not, then are they the pet peeves of an overtly critical
no nonsense teacher? It was my understanding that overall the students should not question the
advice being given them; they should simply follow the rules with no questions asked. After
going through the blogs I came across Paula Newsom s, she felt the same way I did about Strunk
and White s method for addressing style in their book. According to Paula s blog any style book
that makes a reader presume that its rules are engraved in stone suggests that there is only one

Where does our food come from? Often the answer is Tyson Foods, America s meat factory.
STORIES FROM OUR ADVERTISERS
Tyson, one of the nation s 100 biggest companies, slaughters 135,000 head of cattle a week, along
with 391,000 hogs and an astonishing 41 million chickens. Nearly all Americans regularly eat
Tyson meat at home, at McDonalds, at a cafeteria, at a nursing home.
Even if Tyson did not produce a given piece of meat, the consumer is really only picking between
different versions of the same commoditized beef, chicken, and pork that is produced through a

Obesity in Australian culture and society
Obesity in Today s Australian Culture and Society
Introduction Obesity is best referred to as the red alert health zone . The thing that makes obesity
that dangerous is the fact that today s society does not view obesity as a serious threat. It is
important to understand the fact that obesity is not just being fat or having a BMI i.e. Body Mass
Index greater than that of an overweight person. Obesity is a serious problem that can fatally
damage the physical as well as mental health of a person. While all of us understand how obesity
can affect the physical health, a few of us know how mental health is affected due to obesity. A
person suffering from obesity is termed as obese. Such a person is usually a victim of mockery
and insult due to his appearance. No matter how educated we are we as a society have failed to
keep in account the fact that obese people are also humans and deserve to be treated normally. The
unequal treatment for the obese along with the comments consisting of insults and mockery
combined together to form a state of mental instability in the obese person. This results in a higher
rate of anxiety and depression in the obese. The severity of depression is sometimes so high that it
results in suicide attempts. Obese people are generally viewed by the others as the annoyed people.
The reason for that is the fact that due to the alienated treatment from the normal people, they are
likely to have emotional instability which results in severe mood

Descriptive Essay On Toy Car
As I currently stare into this inanimate object I recognize one single thing. This object this
Corvette has one flaw to me. The hood of the car in the front it does not line up completely
straight, it s kind of curved around. I say that because in over the decade that I have received this
personal possession, I have never noticed that specific physical feature on this vehicle. I always
tend to look for flaws when I see something and then I look for the positives. And that is what
people usually look for when they see a car or a collectable item. The sheer resemblance of the
model carto the actual one is uncanny as it should be, from the smallest of detail. The bumps and
texture on the steering wheel, the flags on the logo in the front of the car, and the placement of the
wheels and how they creativity designed and aligned they are just help me attest to that. Now with
that being said this toy Corvette has been in family for over forty years. So minding the physical
features, there is a lot of sentimental value of this vehicle that outweighs my opinion on the actual
price of this toy car, but to a certain extent.
My grandfather in the mid nineteen seventies came in to collection of around sixty toy cars over
the course of a few years. He was an avid collector during his youth and into his middle age. But
when he got older he gave me possession of at least thirty of the toy cars as a sentimental gift. I
always valued when he gave us his personal collectibles because I

Differences Between Star Wars And Star Wars
In this article I ll be talking about the difference in the famous films: Star Wars and Star Trek have
a lot of movies and series.
Introduction:
These two films: Star Wars and Star Trek are films which have to do from the first to the last to
understand. These two films are classified as the two most fanatical movies starting with children
and ending with the elderly. These two series of films I put them to the title: Fantasias Wars
Star Wars information:
Star Wars is an American epic space opera franchise, centered on a film series created by George
Lucas. It depicts the adventures of various characters a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away .
The first film in the series, Star Wars (later subtitled Episode IV: A New Hope), was... Show more

By contrast, in Star Trek we are told the story of a future in which the inhabitants of the Earth take
to the exploration of the universe in search of new planets and new life forms. The original series
in the XXIII century, but this time varies according to the number we re looking at.
Gains movies
While Star Wars has raised its six films about $ 5,670 million, Star Trek with its dozen films he
has reached $ 1,760. And yet here we do not have the latest animated film, which also must be
much . The film pocketed more money from the Star Wars saga was the original 1977 about $
1,610 million while Star Trek are barely reached $ 235 million with its Star Trek IV 1986
Conclusion:
I choose Star Wars vs. Star Trek because I like science fiction and fantasy movies. I liked Star
Wars more because it has more special effects and the characters demonstrate more action; however
the part of the movie as the main character. Star Trek didn t Convince me. I think it was boring.
Comparing to Star Wars if doesn t have that much

Schindler s List Analysis
Schindlers list so we just watched the schindlers list. The movie in all was great. At the
beginning, I wasnt sure if I would get into it. I was wrong. I didnt really know what to think
about Oscar, I believe he was way different at the beginning of the movie. Defenitly had a
different perspective of him of first, he only really focused on himself and getting money. A bit
selfish. I think deep down he was a good man at heart. He defenitly dealed with things a lot better
than others did. The other man was horrible he had no empathy what so ever for other people.
Not even children. Sometimes there was no reason behind killing innocent people, he did it
simply because he felt like it. There was a time when schindler actually tried to prevent him from
killing people without thinking. The bad guy said that killing meant he had power, but schindler
said that having the ability too kill and not doing so but forgive is real power. The bad guy didnt
really get it at first and just kind of laughed at him. The next day I think he kind of understood it
better, and actually even showed... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
On the way to schindlers camp, the men were getting water by breaking off icecles and melting
them into pots that they had with them. When the men arrived, schindler said that the women
werent there yet but should arrive at any moment. Little did he know that the cart with all the
women got sent to the wrong camp. When the women first got there you can tell they were all
very confused. They tried telling the soldiers but they didnt listen. All the women were forced to
strip there close off and go into these enclosed rooms. They all were terrified at first, which is
understandable. Because of the fact that in similar chambers they would gas them and kill them. To
there surprise, it was actually just a shower. They were so relieved and happy. Although before the
showers I forgot to mention that all the women got there hair chopped

The Change in Status and Position of Jews in Russia,...
The Change in Status and Position of Jews in Russia, France and Germany in the Years 1880
1920 Throughout history Jews have been persecuted. I am going to write about how their status
and position changed from 1880 to 1920 in the countries France, Russia and Germany. Anti
Semitism, the persecution of Jews, was introduced centuries before the year 1880. In Ancient
times Jews were used as slaves by the Egyptian s, the Babylonian s and the Roman s. In many
countries Jewish temples, synagogues were destroyed and Judaism was banned. As Christianity
grew so did the persecution of Jews. Christians blamed the Jews for the death of Jesus Christ and
the Bible calls the Jews, The children of the Devil . Many... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

This cleared his debt. The Crusades war also proved a huge problem for European Jews. The
Crusaders were Christian s travelling from Northern Europe to Jerusalem to fight in the Holy
War. On the way they stopped at towns around Europe and massacred many Jews, in some cases
the Archbishop of that town tried to stop the Crusaders, only to fail. Anti Semitism was
originated long before 1880 and was not invented by Adolf Hitler. In France Jews had been
treated fairly by Napoleon; he freed many ghettos that were occupied by Jews, they were also
given full civil rights before any other European country, in the late 18th Century. It was even the
earliest country in Europe to have Jewish cabinet ministers; the first time a Jew entered the cabinet
was in 1848. Many other countries did not allow Jews into the cabinet until the 20th Century,
including Britain. Unfortunately, all this deteriorated because of two scandals that happened near
the end of the 19th Century. In 1880 a canal was to be built linking the Pacific and Atlantic
Oceans, which was to be called the Panama Canal. French people invested a lot of money into the
scheme, but the plan had too many problems and by 1889 lots of money had been lost. It was
found the money had been used to bribe politicians into supporting the canal in public. Then it was
found many of the

The State Of The Wichita State University
Kansas has been ranked 17th in the nation for proportion of students taking on debt. Along with the
already high average, Kansas legislature has continued to make cuts on the budget of universities in
the state. With the cuts, universities in Kansas are forced to find income to replace the
deplenishing government funds. Previous attempts to solve this problem have been made, such as
raising tuition and the cost of programs. Students and parents alike are affected and concerned over
the rapidly increasing cost of this hometown school. Students come to Wichita State University for
not only the in state tuition but also to get a quality degree. With tuition on a rise due to Kansas
Legislature continuing to cut general funds to Wichita State University, the school must search
for revenue else where. The loss of potential exposure and revenue of Wichita State University
can be solved by the recreation of the Wichita State Football team. With millennial already
consisting of the highest amount of people out of work in a given generation according to a
study done by USA Today; students and parents have reason to be concerned. If the price of the
college continues to rise, those who are trying to face the obstacle of getting a quality education
without the out of state cost will be forced to search for an education elsewhere, if not go out of
state entirely. This problem is solvable as athletics for most universities makes the college

Interracial Marriage Analysis
In the two articles Children of Interracial Marriage written by Glenn Collins and Upbeat
Interracial Ad for Old Navy Leads to Backlash. Twice. by Richard Perez Pena, there is a very
solid link of a society and how it interacts with interracial families. Starting off her article with a
hearty what about the children? , Collins grabs the reader s attention immediately before delving
into what research and respected field experts have to say on the matter of interracial families and
children (Collins 1984). Likewise, Perez Pena immediately jumps into describing the social media
outrage that erupted on the internet after a seemingly innocent ad was featured by Old Navy

Twice, there is more of a focus on the responses and reactions of the general public. As many may
be aware, there was an out lash on social media websites, such as Twitter and Facebook, over this
ad that featured a cheerful interracial couple and their children. The whimsical, laughing family
seemed innocent enough, but there was a clear revolt among the more bigoted communities. This
lead to a powerful reaction from interracial couples and families who took the rejection of the ad
personally. In turn, they posted their own photos of their families to protest the racism and supposed
white discrimination that many complained of. This was a very important event because it
brought the topic of interracial couples into the spotlight of the media and it was clear that there
was a very steady divide between those who accepted and disapproved. While this wasn t
necessarily a poll or a census, there was a very clear message that could be concluded from the

Determination of Calcium Ions in Milk Using Titration
Determination of Calcium ions in milk using titration.
Background Calcium is a mineral which is essential to the human body. In fact 1.5% of the human
body is made up of calcium, and not just the obvious uses such as bone and teeth formation but it
is also a vital factor in many enzyme reactions, for example blood clotting. It also partakes in the
regulation of the hearts rhythm. Lack of the crucial mineral can result in the build up of cadmium
and lead, both of which are toxic. along with causing rickets in children, osteomalacia and
osteoporosis. over 99% of the human bodies calcium is found in the bones whilst the remaining 1%

Economic Impact Of The Indian Ocean Trade
From 120 BCE to the 16th century, trade was a remarkable part of the Eastern Hemisphere. It
played a vital role in the kingdoms and city states that made up all of what the 21st century calls
Europe, Asia, and Africa. Trade was critically important in this time period because of the diverse
climate that was scattered all across the continent. Due to the climate, every location had different
resources that were provided by nature. Without specific resources, specific goods could not be
manufactured. Not only that, but since technology was not as advanced as it is now, specific
products were not able to exist in areas. The only way to obtain those products was to trade. Two
of the many routes that a merchant could use to trade were the Silk Road and the Sea Roads along
the Indian Ocean. Of those two roads, the Indian trade route had the most positive impact around
the world. It facilitated the trading of mass goods since rather than using animals to transport
goods, they used boats. It also provided a type of windknown as Monsoonwind that merchants
could benefit from. Finally, the Indian Ocean trade route stretched out at a greater distance than the
silk road, which impacted the goods that could be traded. Overall, the Indian Ocean trade route had
the best impact in the Eastern Hemisphere and even the world. One of the most significant reasons
why the trade route through the Indian Ocean had the most positive impact around the world is
because it allowed merchants to

Their Eyes Were Watching God Freedom Quotes
First Examination: Working Through Self Recognition to Liberation The only way to deal with
an unfree world is to become so absolutely free that your very existence is an act of rebellion, is a
quote written by Albert Camus, which displays the complexity of defining the term freedom.
Jean Paul Sartre s play The Flies, defines the concept of freedom as the accountability of one s
own guilt, which allows individuals to recognize their own freedom. Furthermore, an individual
that accepts accountability for one s own guilt and responsibility for the city, or complete
isolation, is living in freedom. Likewise, Zora Neal Hurston s novel Their Eyes Were Watching
God explores the notion of being or becoming absolutely free, finding her voice,... Show more

Both of these demands allow their protagonist to experience liberating moments, but the exercise
and continual application of using your voice is what allows Janie to transcend self recognition
or liberating moments, and become liberated. Hurston s definition of freedom is the recognition
of self illustrated through Janie s developing voice. While exploring Janie s three marriages you
can see the stages in her life where her voice was silenced, liberated, and then empowered. By the
end of the novel Janie is encouraged to continue growing in her liberation and developing her
voice. Hurston brings Janie freedom by using true love. Janie s love for Tea Cake, her third
husband, and his love for her allowed Janie to experience an awakening of her self
consciousness. Tea Cake encouraged her to speak her mind, the Muck town allowed her to be
free; it was there that Jamie became free from the societal customs that often oppressed her.
When Tea Cake died she decided to return home; Janie s homecoming showed the reader that she
was able to return home with a self conscious awakening, pass on the wisdom she gained to
Pheoby, and display her confidence in speaking when she wanted to. She did not feel the need to
explain herself if she did not want to because she was confident in

Describe The Symptoms Of Dyslexia
3. List and describe the symptoms of dyslexia. When a child has problems on reading, we can
conclude that s/he may get dyslexia. Dyslexia is the most common learning disability. One of the
reasons that make dyslexia hard to be diagnosed is lack of the single test to accurately predict if a
child gets dyslexiaor not, since every child has different developing pace. For instance, some
children have problems on speaking out words, but s/he can remember other more complicated
things. People used to think that visual difficulty is the reason of dyslexia. However, people
now that dyslexia was generated by both speech and hearing difficulties. Even though there was
not single test to diagnoses dyslexia, if a child still unable to speak at 3 years old, then parents
should aware of dyslexia. Dyslexia does not only happen among children, it bothers adults as well.
For preschoolers, when they appear language developmental delay, it means that they are facing
dyslexia. Language developmental delay includes whole bunch of small factors. First, when a
child cannot pronounce words clearly, then this is the sign of dyslexia. Second, when a child
shows delay compared to his or her peers on speaking, this indicates that... Show more content on

For adults, symptoms are more likely to be connected to writing. The first symptom is that no
matter how much an adult knows about a field or subject, it is just so hard for him or her to put his
or her thoughts in words. Furthermore, when an adult is trying to avoid reading and writing by all
means, then this is also a sign of dyslexia. I can match myself to some of the symptoms in the
list, especially the last one. When an adult have difficulties on meeting deadlines. I used to
believe that I get procrastination. But now this symptom also shows up in dyslexia. I think I got
neither procrastination nor dyslexia; I was just too lazy to do my words as early as I

A Coupled Model Of Transport, Turbulence, And Mesoscale Flows
A coupled model of transport, turbulence, and mesoscale flows is proposed, including turbulence
spreading. The model consists of transport equations for plasma density and pressure coupled to a
shell model of drift wave turbulence, which incorporates coupling to mesoscale flows via disparate
scale interactions. The model can describe the turbulent cascade and its dynamical interplay with
zonal and mean shear flows as well as the profile evolution (including the profiles of turbulence
intensity itself) due to these self consistent turbulent fluxes. This simple system of equations is
shown to capture the low to high confinement (L H) transition. It is also observed that as the
heating is increased, the system goes through an intermediate... Show more content on

For instance the models including the effect of evolution of plasma turbulence driven by profile
gradients were proposed and studied by various authors (see, e.g., Refs. 7 and 18). In particular,
the model of Miki et al.7,19,20 has the advantage of including oscillations between two
predators (zonal flows and mean flows) and one prey (turbulence) while achieving the L H
transition. As such, it is also able to describe an L I H transition (L H transition with an
intermediate phase), which was initially predicted by a 0D model.21,22 However in most of the
reduced models, the transport coefficients are determined by an ad hoc shear suppression rule.
Here we propose an approach based on shell models, where the shear suppression and the predator
prey dynamics are natural results of the disparate scale interactions incorporated within the shell
model description. The model that is introduced in this paper is interesting for various reasons. It
is significant, for instance, in that it makes use of a simple description of turbulence based on shell
models, yet it is able to describe the complex interplay between turbulence and zonal flows in a
natural self consistent way, without making use of ad hoc steady state relations such as the shear
suppression rule. On the other hand, the model

Body Systems Essay
Functions Of The Skeleton The human skeleton has 6 main functions that provide the body with
good health. They are as follows: Support our skeleton provides shape and support to our body
which gives our body its shape, without this function our body would simply collapse. Movement
it aids our body to move by giving a framework to the attached muscles which then allows different
movements at different joints. Movement is therefore powered by the skeletal muscles. Protection
the skeleton provides protection to many important organs. The skull protects the brain, eyes and
ears. The vertebrae protects the spinal cord from any damage. The rib cage prevents any damage to
the lungs, hearts and major blood vessels. The illium... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The appendicular skeleton consists of 126 bones containing the appendage bones, the pectoral
and pelvic girdles. It is responsible for the ability of movements and the protection of the major
organs in the human body. Types Of Joints There are three types of joins in the skeletal system
each allowing different types of movements. Fibrous joint connected by the fibrous connective
tissue is also known as the fixed joint, This type of joint allows no movement and can be found
in the bones such as the skull Cartilaginous joint is connected by the cartilage and is also known
is the slightly moveable joint. It allows little movement between joints in places such as the
vertebrae and ribs. Synovial joints are the most common joints in the skeletal system and are also
known as the freely moveable joints. They are not directly connected which is why it allows a
great amount of movement. As with most other joints in the body, synovial joints achieve more
movements. The synovial joints consist of six different types of joints. Types Of Movements
Flexion is the bending of a joint where the bones on either side of joint are brought together,
decreasing the angle between bones. Extension the opposite of flexion where the joints are
straightened and the angle of the joints are increased. Abduction the moving of a limb away from

Stereotypes About Gender Roles In Fairy Tales
Fairy tales are deeply rooted in Europe and they are passed down from the one generation to the
other both orally and in writing. It cannot be denied that one of the most favorite past time for all
children is listening to fairy tales about mythical creatures, princesses, castles and other enchanting
stories. However, until very recently, parents have not realized the immense, hidden power these
stories have over the unconscious and conscious mind of young readers. Many classical fairytales
lurk dangers, as they reinforce stereotypical perceptions about gender roles and especially about
women. This research paper will attempt to analyze these perceptions, based on some researchers
(Rowe Karen E., 1979 and Kumly Esin, 2017). According... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

In all of the fairy tales that have been mentioned many times before, according to Kumlu, the
heroines are socially existent on condition that they are under the umbrella of the father (122). It
is also evident that the heroine does not have the power to act on her own and save herself as
[she] is helpless and needs the strength of man in order to survive (Kumlu 130). In addition, in the
article of Karen E. Rowe, it is mentioned that a woman protagonist is subjected to masculine
supervision and denied any true independence (245). As a result, she is unable to act
independently or self assertively; she relies on external agents for rescue; she binds herself first to
the father and then the prince (Rowe 239). At this point, I partially agree with their arguments that
fairy tales focus only on women s dependency on male. There are some stories, in my opinion, such
as Beauty and the Beast or Hansel and Gretel, in which female protagonists not only are totally
independent, but rescue, the father in the first story and the brother in the second, from death with

Cost-Benefit Analysis
Sports is one of the largest recreational activities in canada, with over 2 million kids aged 5 to 14,
took part in sports. However, our government has decreased its funding over sports. From 2014
to 2015, 201.98 million dollars were funded but from 2015 to 2016, only 196.78 milion dollars
were funded on sports. Moreover, sports participation of kids is declining. Boys now are less
likely to regularly participate in sports than they were back in 1992 and those who do compete are
involved in fewer sports. The decline rate will continue unless our government promotes sports
heavily, through schools and community sportprograms. Our governent should dedicate more
money on these programs because sports are mainly promoted by such means, sports have heath
benefits and sports make us smarter. Firstly, kids develop physical literacy through schools and
community sport programs. According to the Long Term Athlete Development model (LTAD),
kids from age 6 to 8 belong to stage 2 fundametals, kids from age 8 to 11 belong to stage 3 learn to
train and kids from age 11 to 15 belong to stage 4 train to train. Schools and community sport

A Consideration of the Way Shakespeare Presents and Develops the Theme of Blindness in King Lear Introduction ============ Throughout King Lear , Shakespeare uses the play s characters to make judgements on society using blindness as a metaphor that runs through the play. He does this in a number of ways portraying characters that can be fooled by others flattery, or are easily manipulated or deceived, or simply have a lack of wisdom. As well as the horrific physical blinding of Gloucester, blindness is used as a metaphor for characters lack of insight, moral blindness, and a lack of perception into other s needs and interests. Shakespeare illustrates the importance of seeing yourself... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Unlike Albany, Cornwall has great insight into other characters and uses this to his advantage by manipulating and deceiving others. Cornwall however is morally blind, and unable to see the wrong of his actions. The outcome of Cornwall s blindness is his death, his own servant turns on him, just as he turned on his host and his king. Shakespeare illustrates poetic justice, in the downfall of Cornwall. To counterbalance Cornwall s corruption, Albany grows in moral strength and gains awareness of justice and virtue. Like Albany, Edgar s character develops throughout the play, he must suffer as Tom O Bedlam to truly understand Edmond s trickery and more importantly himself. He reverts into a state of oblivion, and denies himself personality, money, food, and his position in society. From this state of nothingness, he builds his character, and so is no longer blind to himself, therefore can more easily start to understand the intentions of those around him. Edgar builds his character to the extent that by the end of the play, Shakespeare illustrates to the audience that he has the most insight and rewards him with the title of King. Lear is blind and irresponsible as father and ruler, he is preoccupied with appearances, he wishes to retain the trappings of majesty without the cares and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Orthodox Religion Origin and founders The Orthodox consider their origin to be the same as the Catholic origin. Their history is the same as Catholic history as it is recorded in Acts of the Apostles, written by the apostle Luke. Their history follows the Old testament, and they believe theirs is the church founded by Jesus (Shmeman). The Orthodox church separated from the Catholic church after centuries of division and disagreements between the two. The leaders of the Western and Eastern churches excommunicated each other in 1054, in addition to many other issues relating to politics as well as than theology. For the common people, the rift began to form when the Western Church pillaged Constantinople during the fourth crusade. The Patriarch of Antioch, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These 13 accepted autocephalous churches have the right to solve all their own problems internally and to elect their own head bishops. They are separate yet they remain in communion with each other through the sacraments and the canon (Roberson). The Patriarchate of Constantinople is recognized as the primus inter pares , or first among equals. However, this title is one of honor rather than actual supremacy over the other Patriarchates, unlike the Pope (Wikipedia). The Patriarchate of Constantinople does assert that he is the only one who can grant autocephaly to a church. However, this has not always been respected, so there are churches that were granted autocephaly by another Patriarchate. There are four original eastern patriarchates: Constantinople, Alexandria, Antioch, and Jerusalem. There have been nine other churches who posses unchallenged autocephaly. There are several churches whose autocephaly is disputed ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Pros And Cons Of Kid Care The very words Kid Care can make an abundance of feeling when the subject is raised. Watching over a tyke is a standout amongst the most imperative things anybody can do. Taking legitimate care of a youngster can mean the distinction being developed between a composed and mal balanced grown up. Tons of words have been composed regarding the matter of tyke care and today tyke mind itself has developed into an immense industry. Tremendous changes have occurred throughout the last two eras concerning the route in which youngsters are administered to. This alternative has gotten to be something of a minefield because of genuinely late prominent cases in which a babysitter has physically hurt a kid in her care. Different cases have really brought about the demise of the child by the caretaker departed in control. It must be underscored that these cases are extremely uncommon for sure and are not agent at all of the dominant part of tyke care attempted by caretakers. A legitimate office providing babysitters has strict principles set up for their choice. References will be required with regards to the caretaker s past positions and will be circumspectly followed up. In the event that the references are not acceptable, the caretaker won t be prescribed for that specific opportunity or some other. An area of childcare regularly underestimated is that of grandparents who are glad to dedicate incalculable hours taking care of their grandchildren. Stupendous guardians offer one of the absolute best types of childcare, basically in view of the connection amongst them and their grandchildren whom they look on as their own. • 5. Elgin Marbles Essay The case of cultural artifacts being divided from their origins is not a new issue to arise in the art community. The Parthenon (Elgin) Marbles are a source of controversy between modern Britain and Greece. The Parthenon, and its sculptures/marbles, have a history that stretches back 2500 years, when it was built to honour a goddess of wisdom, Athena. The Parthenonhas been a Christian church and a Muslim mosque, but has been ruined since 1687, when gunpowder stored inside exploded and attackers bombarded the structure. Over the centuries the stones which both constituted and adorned the Parthenon had been damaged. Documentation of the history. It would be literally impossible to actually place them back on the Parthenon because it is now in ruins. The Greeks would be willing to allow the marbles to visit to different well known museums, such as the British Museum. It has been a concern out the Greece is in economic turmoil and deals with heavy pollution. Those excuses however are weak in that London also deals with pollution themselves. • 6. Arguments Against Dinosaurs Argument 1 It is said that there has been rare and precious Dinosaur bones discovered in the Eromanga sea, this almost proves that Dinosaurs once roamed around the shores. Also many of the significant events in Geological history, over the past 600 million years can be observed at Hallett Cove. Some of the oldest rocks have been found in these seas. The finding of the Ediacaran could potentially mean that there can be dinosaur fossils found in the ocean, or even that relatives of the ediacaran could be considered fossils and could be found in the sea. Although the Ediacaran period was well before the first appearance of dinosaurs it shows that there were fossils many years ago. When dinosaurs first appeared things had changed there was still shallow water which meant that bones could be fossilized. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 7. Persuasive Essay On Tuition Fee Persuasive Essay Tuition Fee Have you ever wondered, why more graduated students aren t going to universities and colleges because, every year, their tuition fee are always increasing? The cost for attending a variety of universities and colleges programs are students responsibilities, that they need to pay to learn. Every year, our tuition fee is always increasing that we always wonder why. In 2001, the average for one year in Ontario was about 3,500 to 5,500 but to this year our average tuition fee for one year is 7,200 to 10,800. Universities and Colleges should decrease their tuition fee. At first, we should decrease the tuition fee because it s unfair for the cost of international students. For the cost of an International student is three to four times more expensive than a Canadian student. In 2017, for one year in University our average cost for Canadian student is $8,454 but for International student average cost is $25,180. In College, their tuition fee is based on what program their choosing but, it s the same that they need to pay three to four times more expensive. Therefore, when they don t have enough money to pay, they don t have the opportunity to borrow money from OSAP that they need to borrow money from banks. When they return back their money to the bank it s not the same as OSAP. In OSAP, when they return their money to them, they don t need to pay them back with interests but for banks you ll need to pay back interests, which that depends on their ... Healthcare reform Essay The United States should have Universal Health Care Comp II The United States should have Universal Health Care Virtually 50 million Americans are presently without any health insurance, and a great number of them with health insurance are struggling to pay for their medical bills. Everybody concurs that healthcare must be accessible to all citizens, but the debate on whether the United States should adopt a universal health system still rages. According to the Institute of Medicine (2002), the U.S. is the only developed country that does not guarantee that its citizens have health care coverage. President Obama pledged to reform the country s healthcare system by increasing health coverage and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Moreover, there are already existing laws in the country that demand emergency rooms for patients if they lack any insurance. This expenses the hospital finance that they convey to clients and insurance firms. Under universal health care program, those people that usually go without insurance cover would be demanded to pay for it through taxes. This concept of cost distribution would reduce the individual costs of people currently paying for insurance. It is worth noting that this system of taxation resembles the shared costs of schooling, road construction, or even space exploration (Burke, Diego Semelka, 2012). Opponents of universal healthcare system assert that the program would be damaging to the quality of health services, although researchers have established that the country s healthcare structure is not superior to those of various developed countries that offer universal health care (Garber Skinner, J2008). In relation to the same research, the United States is ranked second last in terms of the number of practicing physicians. Moreover, the country has less than the normal number of hospital beds and period of stay for severe care. Alexander Hamilton was one of the key, founding figures of the Federalist, a political party who believed in a strong, national government. However, Aaron Burr considered himself a Democratic Republican, a political party who favored for the states to have more power than the national government; in other words, both men believed in the exact opposite for the government of the United States. As a result, Hamilton and Burr disagreed on many things, resulting in a great amount of animosity towards each other. The duel was held on Wednesday, July 11, 1804 in Weehawken, New Jersey. The choice of weapon for the duel was a pistol chosen by Hamilton since he was the one challenged. Again since he was the challenged, Hamilton had the choice of position, so he chose a place located upstream. However, that would include one of many mistakes that would cost him his life. As both men shot at each other, only one was hit. Shot in a fatal location, Hamilton was hit on his right side, right above his hip. Ellis states, Hamilton himself recognized his own condition almost immediately...Meanwhile, Burr seemed surprised and regretful at the outcome of his shot (25). The EHRs have taken care of the duty of physically transporting paper records from clinic, to hospital, to lab and also the chore of having to re write medical paper records every time of going into a new medical setting. Also for patients that need their clinicians to access their forms it can be now easily at hand for them as well, making it less of a hassle to looking up a patientspatient s medical history. The supplied energy during a 100 meter sprint or a marathon run comes at a cost, which is the production of ATP (Hill et al.). At the beginning of exercise the body relies on the glycogen stores in muscle that aids in ATP production. Eventually, glucose levels in muscles begin to decrease as the activity continues, it s also thought that insufficient glucose causes tiredness (Hill et al.) . Taizong the Imperial ancestor who ruled during the period 626 649 C.E built the Middle Kingdom by governing his kingdom his accomplished learning and culture. He believed in the power of state but he tried to balance both Buddhism and Chinese values. Zhenguan and Gaiyuan, later instituted radical changes. The Buddhist enjoyed many privileges; they did not pay taxes and were treated differently, which was detrimental to state. These values were at variance with the Confucius values of general applicability of rules to all people within the state. By confiscating land occupied by temples and monasteries and by bringing the monks into the mainstream of the state a healthy balance was achieved which ended the extremes of the first two ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The total DFPR production time for an order was determined to be 47.40 minutes, which equated to a daily capacity of 10.13 orders (81 boards). Further analysis of DFPR production times (as shown in Exhibit 6) revealed that production time increases at a decreasing rate as order size increased. Additionally, daily DFPR capacity, as measured in number of boards, increases at an increasing rate as the order size is increased (See Exhibit 7). This correlates to DFPR production time per board being significantly reduced as the order size is increased. Thus, it is easy to see why a bottleneck might sometimes occur in the DFPR area of there are several small orders going through back to back. If viewed in the same manner as costs in economics, the setup time in this operation can be viewed as a fixed cost incurred regardless of production amount. The rum time can be viewed as variable costs that are incurred at an incremental rate as production is increased. Thus, smaller orders have a higher percentage of their production time represented by setup time (fixed) as opposed to run time (variable). Question 4 A last useful analysis is to examine the standard labor times required for various order sizes. Exhibit 8 displays the total standard labor times for order sizes of 1 board, 8 boards, and 200 boards. As expected, total labor times ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

(Montessori, 1988, p.239) Montessori believed that the disorderly and disobedient acts of a young child where from those actions that he/she had yet to develop and so where unable to control successfully. Discipline and obedience could not therefore be inflicted on a young child as had been traditionally thought, nor could it be sustained through rewards and punishments. Obedience is seen as something which develops in the child in much the same way as other aspects of his character. Where is it written that we as students should have to follow specific guidelines while writing? Anyone wanting to make their writing clear, precise, and simply correct will usually try following some type of guideline, or book in order to perfect their own writing style. This helps them to understand that not every time they break a rule is wrong, sometimes choosing to ignore the advice can have positive effects on their writing. Strunk and White, and Williams use very different approaches when addressing the issue of style. Strunk and White, apply more of a straight forward approach strictly telling the reader to follow their rules word for word. Although, many students and teachers believe it is a mystery why they choose the rules in style that they put into their book. Are these places where students have the most trouble with their style, and diction? If not, then are they the pet peeves of an overtly critical no nonsense teacher? It was my understanding that overall the students should not question the advice being given them; they should simply follow the rules with no questions asked. It is important to understand the fact that obesity is not just being fat or having a BMI i.e. Body Mass Index greater than that of an overweight person. Obesity is a serious problem that can fatally damage the physical as well as mental health of a person. While all of us understand how obesity can affect the physical health, a few of us know how mental health is affected due to obesity. A person suffering from obesity is termed as obese. Such a person is usually a victim of mockery and insult due to his appearance. No matter how educated we are we as a society have failed to keep in account the fact that obese people are also humans and deserve to be treated normally. The unequal treatment for the obese along with the comments consisting of insults and mockery combined together to form a state of mental instability in the obese person. This results in a higher rate of anxiety and depression in the obese. The severity of depression is sometimes so high that it results in suicide attempts. It played a vital role in the kingdoms and city states that made up all of what the 21st century calls Europe, Asia, and Africa. Trade was critically important in this time period because of the diverse climate that was scattered all across the continent. Due to the climate, every location had different resources that were provided by nature. Without specific resources, specific goods could not be manufactured. Not only that, but since technology was not as advanced as it is now, specific products were not able to exist in areas. The only way to obtain those products was to trade. Two of the many routes that a merchant could use to trade were the Silk Road and the Sea Roads along the Indian Ocean. Of those two roads, the Indian trade route had the most positive impact around the world. It facilitated the trading of mass goods since rather than using animals to transport goods, they used boats. It also provided a type of windknown as Monsoonwind that merchants could benefit from. The model can describe the turbulent cascade and its dynamical interplay with zonal and mean shear flows as well as the profile evolution (including the profiles of turbulence intensity itself) due to these self consistent turbulent fluxes.
