1. Essay On Primary Education
Writing an essay on the topic of primary education can be a challenging task for various reasons.
Firstly, it involves delving into a broad and multifaceted subject that encompasses various aspects
such as educational policies, teaching methodologies, curriculum development, and the impact of
primary education on a child's overall development. Navigating through this expansive terrain
requires a comprehensive understanding of the educational landscape, including historical
perspectives, current challenges, and future trends.
Additionally, crafting an essay on primary education demands meticulous research to gather
relevant and up-to-date information. It's crucial to stay abreast of the latest educational theories,
research findings, and legislative changes that might influence primary education. This process
can be time-consuming, as one needs to sift through numerous academic articles, reports, and
educational journals to obtain credible and diverse sources.
Moreover, the essay must present a coherent and well-structured argument that addresses the
complexities of primary education. This requires the writer to synthesize information from
various sources, critically analyze different viewpoints, and present a balanced perspective.
Striking the right balance between theoretical concepts and practical examples is essential to
provide a comprehensive understanding of the topic.
Furthermore, addressing the unique challenges and opportunities in primary education may
involve delving into the socio-economic factors that influence access to quality education.
Discussing issues such as inclusivity, diversity, and the role of technology in the classroom adds
another layer of complexity to the essay.
In conclusion, writing an essay on primary education is a formidable task that demands a
combination of in-depth knowledge, research skills, critical thinking, and the ability to
communicate complex ideas effectively. It is an endeavor that requires dedication, time, and a
genuine passion for the subject to produce an insightful and compelling piece of academic
writing.

2. Motorola and Smartphones Essay
Motorola has finally made its way back into the market and this time with a bang.
After the successful launch of there budget smartphone Moto G in devloping markets,
Motorola recently came up with Moto X.
And that raised many eyebrows in blogosphere.
Does the Moto X have that in it to play the role of star performer?, a market which is
powerfully ruled by Samsung and now Sony. Lets find out!
OVERVIEW
The Moto X is indeed the best bet Motorola can ever make. With its massive
evolution on design strategies and understanding the importance of the form factor,
Motorola proved that they are ready to give the people what they really want. The
Moto X is built on a stock android (Google experience), a pure Android Experience,

does not have a removable back panel also no micro SD expandability.
.
DISPLAY, MULTIMEDIA AND PERFORMANCE
Well at the end of the day Performance is what matters .
The Moto X comes with a 4.7 inch AMOLED display, which has a great outdoor
visibility and takes brightness to all new level. The display has excellent viewing
angles and a contrast output. But as it is Amoled display we do get that bluish tint.
The X can handle whatever type of media you throw at it, even after considering
that it ranks low spec sheet. You can playback full HD 1080p videos without even a
single lag or stutter. The speakerphone is not best in class but still it is fairly loud,
and you won t require additional speakers. The 3.5 mm jack has refined output.
The Moto X is designed to breathe Android, and device dies exactly that. No doubt
when it comes to hardware Moto X is unfortunately limited to only a dual core
processor, an average user won t feel the need of this. However if you are super user
and stay glued to your smartphone 24*7 then Moto X is not a handset you may be
looking for.

3. The Bbc Television Series Called Merlin
The BBC television series called Merlin is based on the story of King Arthur. This
is a popular legend that s popularity was seen throughout the medieval era. The
story is thought to have been based at the fall of the Roman Empire, this was also a
time when there was an increase in tribes from Germany, called Saxons, in
England. Arthur was thought to have helped with the removable of knights from
Rome and the Saxons. The legend spans 12 years set in what is thought to have
been a fictional time of peace, when the Saxons and the Celtic Britons were not
fighting. King Arthur was thought have a court that was great and it was seen in
the Kingdom of Camelot. When the Saxons invaded the Celtic Britons relocated to
Wales. Geoffrey of Monmouth wrote a book, The History of the Kings of Britain,
in the 1100s that is thought to have been base on a Manuscript by the Celts. This
book included Queen Guinevere, Excalibur; which is Arthur s magical sword,
Lancelot, and Merlin. After this it is thought that the legend of King Arthur was
added to by poets and developed to include situations such as Guinevere s, Arthur s
Wife, and Lancelot s, one of the knights of the round table, relationship. The story
continued to develop from the 1100s and the people of the medieval era were
inspired by the legend. The round table, one of the important elements from the story,
was seen created in the 1200s for King Edward I. 15th century The fashion in the

Machiavelli s early life we do know that he shared of love for literature, learning
Latin and reading the classical Roman and Greek authors, particularly the histories.

5. Causes Of The Potato Famine
What was the cause of the potato famine. Well Ireland was hit by an airborne fungus
that turned the potatoes to mud before they got out of the ground and rotted them
quicker. Potatoes were the main food in Ireland especially for the poor. Without
potatoes many died while others immigrated. The potato faminecaused a lot of death,
immigration, and also got help from surrounding areas. Many people immigrated ,
some just sooner than others. Between 1845 and 1870 there were at least three
million Irish immigrants (Famine,Irish. The Oxford Company). This shows how
devastating and terrible the famine was to drive three million people out of their own
country. Landlords would first make phony promises of money, food and clothing,

6. The Arguments For The Existence Of God

Rough Draft for The arguments for the Existence of God. The question Does God
Exist? is a well known asked question in the world. Most people believe they know
the answer to it. The religious people would say, well of course he does, while the
non religious people or atheist would say no He does not exist. Because evil exist
and chaos exists, God cannot be all powerful. In the modern world, there are many
different opinions as to whether a God exists or not. This has been an issue of great
dispute because many people reverence different gods or no god at all. For years,
many philosophers have come up with theories, proofs, and hypotheses to prove the
existence of God, and a canon of arguments has been developed. The Arguments for
the Existence of God sets out to explain the everyday philosophical arguments for
theism, and so to explore the case for the existence of God. The arguments themselves
are arranged under the following headings: The Ontological Argument, The
Cosmological Argument, The Teleological Argument, and The Moral Argument will
determine if there really is a God.
The ontological argument
An argument that attempts to prove the existence of God through abstract reasoning
alone is known as the Ontological argument. The argument begins with a clear
explanation of the concept of God. When people talk or think about God they
usually think or say that he s a perfect being meaning He is flawless, ideal
7. How To Quit Crutcher
Based on my experience with facing difficult decisions, I recommend Crutcher s
Running Loose for young readers who are dealing with similar issues. Running
Loose is a novel that deals with Louie having to face big decisions that is hard for
him especially since he is having to face them at such a stressful time in his life.
The novel is relevant for today s young readers because in teenagers everyday lives
they struggle with facing big decisions all around them whether they know it or not.
An example from my personal experience would be one day when I was sitting in the
bland walled, loud, dirty cafeteria eating lunch, as any normal teenager seems to do
in high school, my friends and I were laughing and cutting jokes at one another. We
were having such a wonderful time that we neglected to notice that a student who
happened to be one of our peers seemed to be looking down at his food, sad, lonely,
and needing comfort. By the time we saw the student sitting all alone it felt it might
have been all too late to ask if we should go sit with him. With the heart that I have,
I felt so sorry for the boy sitting alone, knowing that he was probably getting picked

talking about how our day was, and listening to why he was sitting alone in the

and going against my friends made a difference in not only the boy s life we

may not always turn out as you expect, but gets you further than I would have ever
thought. This challenges all students to face a big decision because most of the time
there is a positive outcome but most every teenager can relate to what not only Louie

8. When Life Begins
One of the first medical issues arises from the question of when an embryo is
considered alive. We have laws in society that protect life. However, we don t
always consider an embryo to be a living thing. It is currently a hot topic of
discussion whether or not to allow and use stem cells taken from embryos. The fact
that cells must come from women also raises ethical questions concerning therapeutic
cloningas this can lead to the exploitation of women. Many people also believe that
such technology is unnatural and similar to taking nature in your own hand.
Creating clones for the production of transplantable organs is another issue. People
believe that we may use clones in an inhuman manner. They feel that we will clone
humans in order to use them for their organs, and when we no longer need them, we
will kill them off. Because the clones will be providing us with the source of
transplantable organs, this may result in enslaving of clones and illegal marketing of
organs as well as violating the rights of these cloned people. As cloning technology
improves, more and more applications are being seen in everyday life. The
implications of cloning in medical science can range from cloning genetically pure
organs for human transplantation to using cloned animals to produce pharmaceutical
agents. RK
Cloning could have legal implications as well. A cloned child who has multiple
donors might complicate parental right issues as well inheritance and marital
eligibility issues, and

It is recommended that all people see their family doctor routinely for check ups
and screening for chronic health problems. With so much information in the news
about obesity, high blood pressure and diabetes it can be scary for a patient to go to
the doctor and potentially face hearing a diagnosis like this. The good news is that if
you start early in life and try to stick to health eating and exercise habits you decrease
your risk of being diagnosed with a chronic health condition. In addition, having the
right screening tests are also important to detecting potential problems early.
Read on to learn more about common screening tests and consider asking your doctor
if you need any of these tests done!
1. Fasting blood sugar: This test is done when you have not had anything to eat to
screen for diabetes. Your doctor is looking for a fasting level that is higher than 126
mg/dl. This value confirms diabetes. If your results are between 100 and 125 mg/dl,

11. George Zimmerman Slaughter Case Study
This case gave me an insight on things I never expected to be true I never knew a
person could get away with murder/manslaughter. This case was greatly affected by
race. George Zimmerman saw a young black man going home and for some reason
thought he was a threat he probably sterotyped Trayvon, the moment he saw him.
There was no reason to pull a gun Zimmerman was much bigger than Trayvon if
there was a scuffle. Also since Zimmerman was never charged he has gone on to hurt
other people such. George Zimmerman has anger issues and should have had more
extensive screening. This has been proven by the following incidents:
On July 31, 2016, Zimmerman called the Seminole County Sheriff s Department to
report that he had been punched in the face at Gators Riverside Grille in
Sanford.[56]Zimmerman told investigators that he had been identified, and then
assaulted by another patron at the restaurant who accused him of bragging about
killing Trayvon Martin.[57]On November 9, 2016, Zimmerman was removed from a
bar after yelling at a waitress. A deputy on the scene said Zimmerman used a racial
slur before he left. Zimmerman stated he intended to sue the Seminole County Sheriff
s Office. ( George Zimmerman. Wikipedia. Wikimedia Foundation, n.d. Web. 20...

Trayvon was a black young man wearing a hooding with a pack of skittles in his
pocket. Zimmerman probably approached him because he felt he was up to no good
whether he likes it or not he did judge on race. Money was also a factor in this case
George Zimmerman was not short on any of it as his wife tried to hide the number
of funds they had and was she was later charged with a misdemeanor and had to do a
hundred hours of community service. Shellie Zimmerman said in September of 2013
that she has doubts about his innocence in the Trayvon Martin case. (Almasy, Steve)

inequalities they still face

What are vampires? How has our perceptions of vampires changed throughout
centuries? Well there are many myths out in the whole world of vampires.
Vampires are creatures that are dead yet still walk among the living; all vampires
have fangs, they are afraid of the sunlight, they can shape shift and they drink the
blood of their victims. People say vampires are human corpses that return from the
grave to harm living and others say they are not humans at all that vampires are
supernatural, demonic creatures and not human form. What is evil? Evil is what is
morally wrong, sinful, or wicked. Vampires can be categorized as evil as said in the

Dracula has been described in many ways as a young man or even as an old grumpy
man. In this book, Bram Stoker described Dracula by stating, Within, stood all man,
clean shaven save for a long white moustache, and clad in black from head to foot,
without a single speck of colour about him anywhere . He described a man who
looked neat and clean but with no color as in he looked pale. As we get to know
more of Dracula s appearance in this novel he seems more unique and not so much
like a human. (Stoker 160). The writer also stated, His face was a strong a very
strong aquiline, with high bridge of the thin nose and peculiarly arched nostrils....
cruel looking, with peculiarly sharp white teeth . (Stoker 18). Back in the old
centuries people really did not know how vampires looked but now in modern
days as we hear the word vampires we imagine a man dressed in black with pale
skin and sharp teeth. Count Dracula was seen an evil creature who bit people and
took their soul. What is the description of a perfect man? A perfect man is someone
who cares about his love one and protects his more precious person in the world. In
the book Twilight Edward Cullen can be described as a perfect man by Bella. When
Bella and Edward met, she did not know who he really was. They both had a
connection towards each other, they were attracted to

Liam Ryan Mr. Healy Eng 2. Honors The Crucible Arthur Miller The main
character, John Proctor proves himself an honest, level headed, dignified man who
is broken down but never lets go of his name showing that his reputation is more
important than his life. For example, he cannot escape the adultery he committed
with Abigail. Proctor tries to ignore this, but during the trials, Proctor realizes that
the only way to stop Abigail would be to confess his adultery. Proctor cannot ruin
his reputation, he wants to maintain his dignity, however, as the trails begin to lead
to more and more deaths, Proctor has no choice. Furthermore, after he is thrown in
jail, he continues go down a downward spiral. Proctor is forced to admit working
with Satan to save himself and others that will be hanged. He loses self respect
because he must lie and act like a fool just to survive. In addition, when given a
paper to sign, Proctor cannot sign it. Although he gave up his soul, his name is all
he has left and he cannot give it up and he tears up the paper and chooses to hang.
Being a good man, Proctor will never give up is name. To him, giving up his name
means giving up his dignity, without it he is nothing, so he would rather die with
dignity, than live with nothing. With all the characters of The Crucible, there are
many plot points to focus on, but mainly in the center is the story of John Proctor
and Abigail Williams. At the start, a child of Reverend Parris named Betty is lying in

In the western world the terms president, and prime minister means, for lack of a
better term, the head of a country, the difference is that between Canada and the
United States they have one or the other. Back in the Eastern world of Western
Europe, France was the first major European country to adopt a semi presidential
system giving them both a prime minister and a president to oversee it all (Allen et
al. 109). This is accomplished by giving the president the power of political figure

strengthen economic ties and decision making among members of the Union by
coming up with a constitution for the EU and was approved by not only the current
president but also 10 other Union states and Spain (through a referendum), but was
rejected by Germany, the Dutch and France (through a referendum) (Allen et al. 28).
This was because even though the first and second part of the constitution was
widely accepted as in benefit of those it meant to protect it was rejected for its long
winded third part consisting of references to liberalization and market building and
was criticized throughout all of France (Allen et al. 30). Still it leaves the fact alone

/ For this with fillets strained your tender head, / And bravely bore the double loads

tools and machinery that bind and strain Belinda and other women. When Pope
writes, Parent of vapors and of female wit, he indicates that he equates a female
mind to insubstantial vapor (Canto 4, line 59). Dryden draws the same connection
between machinery and a lack of substance in Mac Flecknoe, when he writes, Let
em all by thy own model made / Of dullness, and desire no foreign aid: / That they
to future ages may be known, / Not copies drawn, but issue of thy own (lines 157

progeny and printing, and a printing layout is referred to as a mechanical; therefore,
Dryden sarcastically expresses his disgust at the thought of machinery being used to
repetitively produce writing that is dull, meaningless, and insubstantial ( Mechanical
). In addition to making commentaries about the repetitive, insubstantial qualities of
machinery in their three texts, Wordsworth, Pope, and Dryden denounce the use of
language that is mechanical. For example, in Preface to Lyrical Ballads,
Wordsworth writes, I have endeavoured utterly to reject [personifications] as a
mechanical device of style, or as a family language which Writers in metre seem to

forming new neural connections throughout life. Neuroplasticity is how we become
better at problem solving, learning a new language, and increasing our ability to
focus. An example, of my road to mastering a subject would be me learninghow to
play the clarinet. I vividly remember the first day I played the clarinet, I still
remember that I had to look at my fingers to see if I they were on the right keys.

clarinet I learned some tricks from the paper trick to buzzing. At first I had no clue
what I was doing but with go teacher and instructors I learned with hard work and
perseverance, at times it got frustrating but at the end of the day I grinned through
it. Within a year I could play the clarinet with my eye closed and every single note

Over the summer, I read The Andromeda Strain by Michael Crichton. I really enjoyed
this book. Something I noticed though, throughout the book, is that there were a few
Aha moments for the characters when they found or figured out important pieces of
information. One of these moments happened quite early in the story, when the
scientists found the surviving infant and old man in the town of Piedmont, Arizona.
The scientists who made this incredible discovery then had to figure out how and
why those two people had survived a deadly virus while the rest of the town didn t.
The scientists then found what the two survivors had in common and used that
knowledge to stop the strain from spreading rapidly. Another Aha moment I found in

20. Disobedience In Paradise Lost
Have you ever seen a big red button that says do not push and then pushed it? We
have all been there; it was just too tempting to not push it, right? In John Milton s
Paradise Lost, mankind presses that big red button. Through Adam and Eve s free
will to eat from the Tree of Knowledge, they fall from Paradise. It is not like God
did not warn the pair; he made it abundantly clear that their one rule was to not eat
from the tree. God, being omniscient, knows that they will fall, but makes their
choice of disobedience an easy decision. Although God foresees the expulsion of
Adam and Evefrom the garden, they have free will and fall on their own; however,
God makes it too easy for Satan to succeed. God lets mankind fail through their own
choices. At the start of the epic, Milton asserts that Paradise Lostwill display Man s
first disobedience (1.1). Right from the get go, Milton claims that the fall is
mankind s fault, so we know that Man must have made their ill fated decision on
their own free will. Jumping forward to Book Three, God discusses the future of
mankind with the Son. Being all knowing, God can see the choice Adam and Eve
will make: Man will hearken to [Satan s] glozing lies... [and] will fall (3.93 95).
Despite knowing what is to come for the pair, God recognizes that mankind s fall is
a result of their own choices. God could have easily intervened and made the right
choice for them, but he wants Adam and Eve to have the free will to make their own
choices. In

One of my learning moments was during our very first day of class. We created a
Gypsy Wagon Book which is very interesting and unique to me because, this book
can be used in a variety of ways for all ages. One way to use this book is that you
could have your own students create their own story book, maybe of what they did
over the summer, vacations they went on, birthday parties or just different activities
that they did with friends and family. This book can be used for sequence of a story
that you read to your students. Also this book could be used simply just as a journal

23. How The Theory Of Civic Engagement Can Be Used For

Discussion
The following section will examine several case studies to highlight concrete
examples of how the theory of civic engagement can be used to create successful and
sustainable collaborations between museums and the communities they serve.
Case Study 1: Developing Exhibit Programming at Carnegie Museum of Natural
History
The case study of the preparation of the arrival of the traveling exhibit Race: Are We
so Different? by the Carnegie Museum of Natural History (Cole 2014) demonstrates
how this approach of institutional capacity to create, sustain, and nourish
relationships with community members can be achieved successfully beyond the
realm of theory. Specifically, this case lends insight into how the surrounding
community can ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As for the institution itself, the museum saw this exhibition as a step toward larger
institutional changes. They recognized that they primarily serve a white middle class
audience. For Carnegie, this exhibit and hopefully the programming accompanying it
would help the museum to become more diverse, inclusive, and diversify the
demographics of their audiences.
Carnegie formed a community advisory board composed of already invested
community members. Then using these connections, advisory board members
connected the museum staff with on the ground community and public service
workers, following along the lines of Jackson s (2008) argument for on the ground
research, to help develop programming for the Race exhibit. What this meant was
working with local and regional public service workers whose jobs are to engage
with cultural inclusion, race equity, and community organizing on a daily basis
(Cole 2014:57). In addition, the museum team was educated on both sides of the
debate surrounding race as well as bringing in outside experts to lead presentations
and other programming, showcasing the museum s willingness to learn rather than
their need to be experts. Staff (particularly docents) was trained on how to help
visitors navigate the difficult topic of race and how to engage with visitors on the
topic.
While Carnegie was
24. Pros And Cons Of Army Simulations Theory
Abstract
Overview/Summary of Both Articles (naming the Article Titles and Authors)
This paper explores four published articles published in relation to the theory
presented by Raymond A. Noe in Employee Training Development. All four articles
were published online (Internet) and compared to Noe s text offline (non Internet).
The topics discussed are the pros and cons of Army Simulations and the virtual
training environment of today s soldiers. Three of the four articles confirm Noe s
opinion of the value added (both monetarily, as well as, the ability to train in
situations that would not be possible to train for in real life) of virtual simulations
(Sims) in the Army training environment. The fourth article, however, shows a flaw
with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But the cost is much less than the hourly cost of taking helicopters out of service to
teach pilots (Noe, 2017). Below are outside articles that either agree with the overall
opinion of Noe, or disagree with certain aspects.
According to Raymond A. Noe in Employee Training Development, the world of
virtual simulations in the U.S. Army is not only cost efficient, but also a training tool
that allows soldiers to focus on important safety issues and emergency procedures
that are impossible to replicate (Noe, 2017) in real life events. This theory is repeated
by many. David Vergun interviewed Maj. Mike Stinchfield, chief of the Training
Innovation Facility, Army National SimulationCenter, Army Combined Arms Center,
Fort Leavenworth, Kansas for MilGaming
Online.
In this article, Vergun states, Simulators are cost effective in terms of fuel and
maintenance, and they also allow trainers to simulate variables that are dangerous
and costly to simulate in real life: weather conditions, difficult terrain and enemy
attacks. (Vergun, 2016). Simulations are used all across the world to train soldiers
of all ranks in basic, and advanced, procedures. For example, Virtual Battlespace 3
(VBS3) is used at most military installations in the United States. VBS3 is used
primarily to support dismounted patrols and convoy operations; as it is a 3D
25. The Main Causes Of The Woes Of Math Anxiety
The Woes of Math Anxiety Math anxiety is the phenomenon that affects may
people, causing them to feel anxiety or stress when faced with anything related to
math. Math anxiety can potentially affect anyone with the condition at any point
in their lives, but it is most prominent within the classroom, as that is when the
math is the most stressful. Three of the main causes of math anxiety are: public
exposure, the influence of teachers, and time deadlines (Curtain Phillips, 2017).
Once the causes are fully understood, a method to overcome them can be created.
Firstly, it is important to understand when someone is suffering from math anxiety.
Some symptoms are: passive behavior, a feeling of being alone, a lack of
confidence and panic during tests (Oxford 2017). ( In complete paragraph) Public
exposure refers to a student being publicly wrong, such as when called upon a by a
teacher to answer a question. This can lead to many students, especially those with
math anxiety to not speak up during class as to not make a fool of themselves.
Sometimes in even worse cases, a student has been reprimanded or scolded by a
teacher in the past which would cause them to become weary or even scared of
answering a question in class (Oxford 2017). The best way to overcome this issue
would be with positive reinforcement. Placing great focus on their success while
keeping criticisms of their failure constructive gives the student the message that it is
ok to be wrong, as no one is correct every
26. Exploring Schizophrenia Essay
Exploring Schizophrenia
Schizophrenia which affects approximately 1 percent of the population, usually
begins before age 25 and persists throughout life. The illness is a life long
debilitating condition for about 40% of patients and is enormously costly in both
social and economic terms. Despite the presence of delusions, hallucinations and
cognitive impairment which characterize the illness, overall life expectancy is not
altered (although there is a significantly increased risk of suicide in the early years).
Schizophrenia is usually viewed as a functional psychosis, a label which implies that
the symptoms arise from the disorderly activity of neurons without accompanying
anatomical and pathological alterations of brain ... Show more content on

Blealer coined the term Schizophrenia , which means split mindedness, in reference
to the theoretical schism between thought, emotion, and behavior. Unfortunately, this
term historically has caused confusion with split personality (also called multiple
personality), a completely different disorder from schizophrenia. Blealer?s definition
of schizophrenia differed from Kraeplin?s dementia praecox in two major ways: first,
Blealer did not feel that deterioration was a necessary symptom of the disorder;
Second, Bleuler divided the symptoms into fundamental (primary) and accessory
(secondary) symptoms. The most important fundamental syndrome was a thought
disorder characterized by associational disturbances, particularly looseness. The other
fundamental symptoms were affective disturbances, autism, and ambivalence.
Accessory disorders included hallucinations and delusions. Both Kraepelin and
Bleuler assumed that there was an underlying biological basis for this disorder.
Gabriel Langfeldt, unlike Blealer, derived his criteria from empirical experience,
rather than a theoretical formulation. Langfeldt divided the disorder into true
schizophrenia and schizophreniform psychosis. The diagnosis of true schizophrenia
rests on the findings of depersonalization, autism, emotional blunting, insidious onset,
and feelings of derealization and unreality, True schizophrenia is often referred to as
nuclear schizophrenia, process schizophrenia, or non remitting schizophrenia.

The Economic Impacts of Legalized Gambling
Introduction
The effect of gambling on the standard of living will be pronounced if the gambling
activity is regressive, meaning that the rate of participation (as a percentage of
income) declines as people earn higher incomes. In other words, if most gamblers
are poor, then gambling is more likely to affect the standard of living among the
poor. One study showed many forms of gambling to be regressive.

there is tremendous variability across states. The two tribes that operate Mohegan
Sun and Foxwoods in Connecticut alone account for over half of these payments. 10
Casinos might indirectly affect public revenue as well. Insofar as casinos generate
additional business income, they might indirectly increase other forms of tax
revenue. Insofar as they cannibalize sales from other businesses, they might
decrease net tax revenue. Anders, Siegel, and Yacoub (1998) find that as a result
of the introduction of two Indian casinos into Maricopa County, Arizona in 1993,
employment and retail sales in the restaurant and bar sectors declined. Popp and
Stehwien (2002) estimate a similar model to examine the effect of New Mexico s
11 Indian casinos on gross state tax receipts using quarterly data from 1990 to 1997.
They also find a negative effect of Indian casinos on state sales tax revenues the
introduction of a single Indian casino is found to be associated with a one percent
decrease in county tax revenues, but the introduction of a second Indian casino in the
county if found to reduce sales tax revenue by more than six percent. While
suggestive, these analyses are limited in scope and their results do not necessarily
generalize to the experiences of other states.

29. Analysis Of The Hurt Locker
The statement, The Hurt Locker is one of the greatest war films ever made is a
loaded comment that forces the viewer to consider several things. First, it requires
the viewer to identify what makes a good war film: is it the action, the heroism, the
filming technique, sound effect etc.? All these things are important to consider when
determining the quality of a war movie. I argue that The Hurt Lockeris one of the
greatest war films ever made because the film reveals war s brutal side, how it
removes the mundane, and its destruction of innocence, while also portraying a
realistic hero that one could hope to emulate. The first reason The Hurt Locker
should be considered great is because of its accurate portrayal about the horrors of
war. Chris Hedges repeatedly states, [War] is peddled by mythmakers historians,
war correspondents, filmmakers, novelists, and the state... that war as displayed by
the entertainment industry might, in most cases, as well be ballet and it is because
of this that the masses get a false sense of what war entails (Hedges 2002, pg.3, 84).
The Hurt Locker does the opposite of that, director Kathryn Bigelowdecides not to
follow the typical structure of a war movie and elects to include the graphic images
and sounds that remove the cover from this dream and reveal a nightmare.
Specifically, the scene that stands out is when Staff Sargent William James finds the
body of a boy who strongly resembles a friend named Beckham, which has been
turned into a body bomb.
Here the viewer is forced to look at the body, which is bloated due to it being
stuffed with explosives, and the crude stitching used to close it. Bigelow elects to
use a variety of close up and medium shots to include the reaction that Will and his
squad have while staring at the body (Corrigan 2015). This alone is enough to
make the viewer uncomfortable, but where she truly excels is during Will s
removal of the bomb. Hedges states that one of the requirement to wake us up from
the typical film is the deafening and disturbing noise (Hedges 2002, pg.84).
Bigelow accomplishes this during the bomb removal by adding a loud snap every
time Will cuts a suture (Bigelow 2009). Now, even if a person attempts to look away,
this
30. Taking a Look at Human Factors
Human factors
Human factors are an accumulation of human performance and behaviour.
Normally it is viewed in a negative aspect, although it can also be very positive,
such as flexibility. Human factors is very complex, that is why there are many types
of model to describe human factors. One of these models is the SCHELL model ,
this model is used by International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
What this means is that the model gives an idea of the overview of human factors.
The SCHELL stands for:
S = software (procedures, policy and other aspects of work design)
C = Culture (organisational and cultural influencing interactions)
H = Hardware (equipment, tools and other technology)
E = Environment (environmental aspects in which work occurs)
L = Liveware (human aspects of work)
L = Liveware (the communication between co workers at work)
This model puts an emphasis how depended each individual behaviour or action is for
how the system is shaped. Any failures and/or mishap between the components can
lead to chaotic situations.
As a military organisation or as an approved organisation, regular human factors skill
based training programs must be offered. Also know as Maintenance Error
Management (MEM) for maintenance personnel. The training should be based on
providing safety critical staff with non technical skills to manage consequences and
prevention of human errors. This is to emphasise that making errors is normal and
expected however the consequences are just as
31. Review Of The Lady With The Toy Dog
The thought that a fictitious movie like Twilight is actually affecting women
seems almost bizarre. You may wonder how it s even possible that we can be so
easily influenced by what some consider an aimless series of vampire books .
However, it s a proven fact that our brains react to fiction tales and they can indeed
impact us in ways we could only imagine. A study was done in 2009 at the University
of Toronto in Canada testing the hypothesis that art can cause significant changes in
the experience of one s own personality traits under laboratory conditions. According
to the research journal, On Being Moved by Art: How Reading Fiction Transforms
the Self, created by several authors: After completing a set of questionnaires,
including the Big Five Inventory (BFI) and an emotion checklist, the experimental
group read the short story The Lady With the Toy Dog by Chekhov, while the control
group read a comparison text that had the same content as the story, but was
documentary in form. The comparison text was controlled for length, readability,
complexity, and interest level. Participants then completed again the BFI and emotion
checklist, randomly placed within a larger set of questionnaires. The results show the
experimental group experienced significantly greater change in self reported
experience of personality traits than the control group, and that emotion change
mediated the effect of art on traits. The findings of this research, along with plenty of

the curriculum within the Hospitality department.
Curriculum is hardly new in fact it dates way back to ancient Greece and the

came up with the categorisation of knowledge, which I will be discussing later on in

Product Model This model is interested in the product of the curriculum: just what
does it equip a learner to do? Tanner and Tanner (1980) argue that this model has
been the most dominant model of the twentieth century. However CALLAHAN in
the 1970 s with his instrumentalism ideology of skilling the learner to be fit for work,
stated
To the teacher, I would say that you must satisfy the parents and industry that what
you are doing meets the requirements and the needs of our children (TES Magazine,

education was to be invented and from this came the introduction of the craft based
qualifications, his idea of the government putting money into education and seeing
very little return, made him concentrate on making people fit for work, in turn
helping the economy and paying the government back on their investment. This is
the main model used in my specialised curriculum. One of the attractions of this
approach to curriculum theory is that it involves detailed attention to what people
need to know in order for it to work. Lesson plans are produced with the main theme
of by the end of the session the learner will
33. The Controversy On Government Surveillance
The controversy on government surveillance is very controversial. Should the
government have unlimited access to citizen s personal information, conversations,
and text in order to protect the country? Or should the government have more of a
laissez faire type role in citizen s private lifestyles? Across the world, there are
different approaches on the governments surveillanceon people. Iceland s policies are
the least intrusive in the world, with almost no surveillance and laws protecting the
people s freedom of speech. On the other end of the spectrum is China, which is in
the process of creating a constant surveillance system of all its citizens. Somewhere
in the middle of this scale is the United States of America. Influences by other... Show

Currently they are working on a project for a nation wide facial recognition system
that will be done by 2020. Connecting a person s history, personal info, and family,
all to their face. China also has a five year plan that will have 100% surveillance
and a master database consisting of all databases in the country. When this is
complete, the government will be able to watch and identify any citizen in their
country. This idea was derived from a communist party slogan by Mao Zedong,
The masses have sharp eyes . Their premise of the slogan was that the government
relied on people to keep an eye and ear on their neighbors and report anything
wrong that they see. Now, instead of neighbors keeping an eye on others, public
surveillance cameras will be on every street and cameras installed in smart devices
such as phones and tvs. People are required to download certain apps that will scan
photos, videos, audio files, ebooks, and other documents. With constant surveillance,
are citizens free? Everything they say, do, and text is being recorded by the
government. With constant watch, the government had decided to create a social
credit . This rewards those who follow the rules, and punishes those who don t. Even
crimes such as smoking on public transport, causing trouble on flights, jaywalking,
or spreading incorrect news on the internet could lower a person s score. Law

Miley Cyrus, is an inspiration to many young women all over the world. Due to the
flip flopping of her music, she has helped show a long term cultural problem. Miley
Cyrus, 24 year old, singer songwriter and actress. In 2006, she was recognized as a
teen idol when she starred on the Disney channel television series Hannah Montana.
After that, she had a huge downfall, she started using drugs and behaving lecherously.
In 2013, while promoting her fourth album Bangerz her sexually explicit behavior
began, many looked at her in disgust from this point on. Miley Cyrusthen struggled
with her gender identity. In an interview she states, It s weird that I m a girl
because I just don t feel like a girl, and I don t feel like a boy. Cyrus as well as
many others identify themselves as gender neutral. Once cyrus decided to
discontinue smoking marijuana, people began to notice. A December 2016 study
indicated the drug use has gone down. I wouldn t necessarily say she s back to the
old Miley just yet, but she s doing better; however, there is still room for
improvement. Miley Cyrus was recently accused of cultural appropriation for hip
hop comments in an interview. In definition, cultural appropriation is the adoption or
use of elements of one culture by members of another culture (Farah). This a
horrifying concept because it s often seen as controversial and strips the group of its
identity. Miley Cyrus was accused of cultural appropriation because she stereotypes

36. The Role Of Women Throughout Shakespeare s Hamlet
The Role of Women in Hamlet
In today s society, women have many rights and freedom to make their own
decisions and have their own say towards their own issues and role. However, years
ago it was considered normal for women to be oppressed and how no choices but
obey men in their lives. The roles of women in Hamlet by Shakespeare are simply
weak since they are dependent on the male models in their lives, allow them to make
their decisions and they do not have strong voices within the play s society. This is
shown through the characters of Gertrude and Ophelia who are oppressed and
mistreated by the males in the play.
To begin with, the character of Ophelia is an obedient daughter who follows and
easily led by the men she loves. She looks up to her father for guidance while she
seeks love and affection from Hamlet. Polonius controls his daughter s opinions
and wants since he says, You do not understand yourself so clearly as it behooves
my daughter and your honour. What is between you? Give me up the truth (1.3.96
98). This is important because Polonius tells Ophelia that she does not understand
both herself and her female sense of honor. He expects the worst from Ophelia and
controls his daughter s self image and sense of honor, because of this she cannot be
herself and she can only see herself by the way her father views her. Additionally,
Polonius also mistreats and guides Ophelia to her downfall since he tells her, Marry,
I ll teach you. Think yourself a baby that you

4) Korea Methodist Church sokhoe power generation and decline.
Wesley s Class meeting (Sokhoe) has been made as key mechanism of Church and
reformation of society through United Methodist ministry to Korean Methodist
ministry, and became fundamental of enormous growth.
The point of this research is focused on the Korean Methodist ministry, which is the
reason why the research is going to historically consider the development and
deterioration of the Class meeting with Korean Methodist Church as the center.
1) The early Class meeting
In April 5th 1897, Appenseller has impressed by the Class meeting and devotional
service at Lancaster First United Methodist church.
Since then, he transferred into Methodist ministry from Presbyterian ministry by
attending the Class meetings.
The Class meeting has rooted in Korea by the missionary Appenzeller, and started by
few Methodists
The early Korean Methodist church had the small group service three times a week
in reception room for males and main room for female. There was also bible study
and prayer meeting in every Wednesdays and Fridays. Once they started to gather
more people, it leads to purchase a two bedroom house and had separated meetings
by gender.
So, the Korean Methodist Class meeting started with reception and main room as the
center.

Analysis
The athletic and personal record of professional cyclist Lance Armstrong has made
him an icon in modern day sports. He won the tour de France a record seven
consecutive times between 1999 and 2005 (Levinthal, C. 2014). Should sport
authorities allow the use of performance enhancing drugs (PED) in all professional
sport? It is not unfair that one person won the tour de Franceseven consecutive times
by doping? What about other participants?
Personally, I believe that sport authorities should not allow the use of performance
enhancing drugs in professional sports. Not only the use of performance enhancing
drugs are harmful than useful, but also they are used to take unfair advantage over
other people like the case of cyclist Lance Armstrong

The rate of browning could ve been even more if the bananas in the toaster oven
were also kept in their environment for 9.5 hours. The lack of partners may have
made the data slightly inaccurate. For example when the banana was placed into the
water, it was shaken. When it was shaken, the banana fragments were mixed with the
water more, but after the shaking, the banana fragments clumped together and
floated to the bottom. Because the flasks could only be shaken two at a time (one
for each hand on a single person), they were not all shaken at the same time.
Therefore, some flasks were strained into water after a shorter period of time than
others. Having a partner/partners could ve enabled all the flasks to be shaken and
strained into the water simultaneously.
Because the same banana was used for all five trials of each level, there might ve
been more errors in the data. If one of the bananas happened to have a mutation or
something similar that caused it to not produce the normal amount of phenolic
compounds, then all of the trials for that level would ve been inaccurate and there

Abstract The purpose of this paper is focus on the municipal water issues in Canada,
especially the main factors to affect water quality in Canada. Although there is a
common perception that Canada has the second water quality and water quantity in
the world, Canadians are among the highest water user per capital by comparing with
other countries. Furthermore, clean water is essential to life and our health, so
federal government plays an important role to make sure our water suppliers are safe
in Canada. Keywords: water quality, influencing factors, health, government
intervention Water is used in all sectors of a society: industry, agriculture,
transportation, energy and recreation. Canada has approximately 9% of the world s
total renewable freshwater supply; however, Canadians are the world s second largest
per capita users of water with the average Canadian household using 360 liters of
water per today. The demand for water is increasing, and often different interests have
conflicting demands. In developed areas of Canada, pollution has significantly
impaired the natural quality of the resource. Increasing urbanization, together with
inadequate infrastructures for water treatment, is leading to concerns about the
quality of the water
41. The Human Rights Act 1998 Essay
Human Rights Act 1998
The Human Rights Act 1998 sets out the rights and freedoms of every citizen in the
United Kingdom. The HRA has three main effects, the first one is that it incorporates
set out in the European Convention of Human Rights into British law. Therefore if
someone in the UK were to breech your Human Rights you would be able to deal with
this through the British court instead of the European Court of Human Rights in
France, which is what people had to do previously if their human rights were
breeched. This means in Britain in requires everyone (schools, police, courts, local
authorities and hospitals) carrying out public functions to respect and protect their
own and others human rights. These rights are called Convention Rights.
For the Human Rights Act to work it means all public bodies have to work with
government, the public can do this by respecting the rights and the government will
put the laws in place so that others respect your human rights too. For example,
everyone has the right to life and this doesn t only rely on the government to make
sure you receive this right, but it also depends on those around you not to harm you
in any way, this is why the government has put in laws to try and stop people from
harming you so that you get that basic right.

42. The Case Of Barnard V National Dock Labour Board
Analysis on unlawful delegation: Unlawful delegation places a restriction on the
decision maker to delegate their power to make significant decisions to third party
entities or other individuals. It is unlawful to act under dictation of a public body
that have been given the power to make certain types of decisions if that body have
not been given the statutory power to delegate. This was clearly demonstrated in
the case of Ellis v Dubowski where the High Court stated that putting the matter
into the hands of a third person or body not possessed of statutory or constitutional
authority is ultra vires. The scope of the power to delegate must be considered
carefully and the courts will regulate the fairness of the decision and not interfere
unreasonably with the decision making process. Another example of unlawful
delegation can be seen in the case of Barnard v National Dock Labour Board. This
case involved various rules that applied to dockworkers and the appropriate way to
dismiss them. Dockworkers felt that the dismissal process was unfair and unlawfully
delegated to the wrong decision maker. The dismissal should have been considered by
a committee of people and not the port manager. The court held that this was unlawful
delegation and the port manager had no statutory power to dismiss these workers.
The Carltona Principle: Even though the law relating to ministerial responsibility
(being personally liable for everything done in their department) has changed
43. Use Of Dramatic Irony In A Midsummer Night s Dream
The use of irony in the play A Midsummer Night s Dream Is almost ironic some
might say. Two examples of this are when was hit with the mystical love flower and
fell in love with bottom, or when bottom refused the main character in the play he
was performing. Now there are three types of irony verbal irony, which is saying the
opposite of what you truly mean, Situational irony, is when something happens and it
is the opposite of what you expected to happen, And last but not least dramatic irony.
Dramatic irony is when a viewer of a show, play or movie knows something that the
character in the show does not.
Out of these three types of irony dramatic irony is mostly displayed in this play so
we will focus mainly on dramatic irony. Here are

From the 1750s to the 1900s, nationalism raged like a wildfire and extended in
flaming tendrils across the world. Nationalism was born in Europe under the fledgling
ideas of enlightenment intellectuals and chafing rule of Napoleon; however, people
most felt nationalism outside Europe. Two such nations rocked by nationalistic ideas
were Chinaand Haiti. Both countries underwent massive political reforms in the time
between 1750 and 1900, but each nations policies differed in foreign relations,
economics, and racial issues. China and Haiti both had to battle with foreign,
specifically western, powers; however, Haiti utilized nationalism to gain

In China, the Qing dynasty ruled. The Qing, however, were not Chinese they were
Manchurian. This greatly irritated Chinese citizens, who demanded an ousting of
foreign rule. After the failure of the Opium War, Chinese were angry with their
government angry with the spreading famine, angry with high taxes, angry with
English economic rule. This lead to the massively bloody Taiping Rebellion of 1850
to 1864. Between 20 million and 30 million died from battle, disease, and starvation.
This rebellion greatly weakened Qing rule, but the Qing were able to hold onto their
rule. Similarly, in Haiti black slaves and gens de couleur grew tired of mistreatment
by white settlers. Racial tensions were high. Black and people of mixed heritage
banded together under enlightened sentiments of liberty and national identity and
revolted against white French rule. Under these nationalistic sentiments, the Haitians
politically reformed Saint Domingue. In both China and Haiti, political reforms and
revolutions contained racial
45. Essay on In The
In The In The Knight, the knight is an epitome of human society, yet his
appearance doe not portray his true self. Do you agree? In Adrienne Rich s poem
The Knight, the reader is given a brief yet profound insight into the deceiving nature
of humans; how we give a calm, collected front full of light and purity, yet beneath
the surface we are in truth dark and inevitably mortal. The Knight portrays what
every man, woman and child must inevitably decide on: to expose their true face or
to hide behind a false mask to please others. The initial line A knight rides into the
noon evokes a sense that the knight, a chivalrous and pure being, is riding gallantly
into the noon, where the sun s brightness is at its apex. When... Show more content on

The knight s only animate part of himself is his eye ; the rest is iron or steed. His
body is a lump of bitter jelly set in a metal mask , in other words a slob in an iron
panoply set upon a mount. His shining appearance gives the illusion that the knight
is a shining example of medieval society; a pinnacle to aspire to, fit, mighty and
strong. The reality is completely opposite; inside he is a quivering pile of fat,
robed with rags and tatters which clothe him beneath the metal suit. The knight is
no different from any other man, the battle wears his nerves to ribbons despite his
radiant appearance. He is nervous about the outcome of the battle, whether he will
live to charge gloriously into battle once again. Despite his steely skin, the knight
is little different from the lower classes of society, poor, almost naked and mortal.
The knight cannot avoid the one fate that envelops all mankind with his pure
appearance, his fraudulent true self cannot be covered fancifully with wooing
society. Rich portrays a sense that although we all can all wear masks to cover our
true natures; we cannot hide forever behind this false front. If an enemy unhorse[s]
this rider and frees him between the walls of iron , what will become of the knight?
His pure, chivalrous, fake mask might be shattered and his true stout nature will be
revealed to all, his coveted emblems crushing
46. Idaho Swimming Research Paper
The Sanctioning of Swimming in Idaho My senior paper is a subject that has been
a part of my life for as long as I can remember. It is something that I ve loved from
the very beginning all the way to the very end. I m taking about competitive
swimming. But I m going to be talking about something different with swimmingthat
s probably not expected, I m instead talking about getting it to be a sanctioned sport
in Idaho. See, swimmingin Idaho is not considered a real sport, but instead a club,
and personally, I wanted to see swimming, the activity that I ve loved, become a
legitimate sport for future generations of kids to enjoy. This paper covers the main
reasons why I wanted swimming to be a sanctioned sport, the steps it took to get it
sanctioned, and finally, actually making it a sanctioned sport in Idaho this year. This
paper begins with my own existing knowledge of swimming, followed by questions
that I wanted to find out in my research that were answered in my paper. It then gets
into my research and what I found out while conducting my senior paper. After that is

the hardest things that I ve ever trained for in my life. And in my mind I really saw
swimming in my mind and heart as a true sport in this state. And as the years went
on I realized that swimming started to become a more popular sport in this state. I
also realized that swimming followed a lot of the same regulations that other
sports in the state did that were already sanctioned. Such as, having equal
opportunity participation for both boys and girls. So, I knew personally what I had

And when I heard that they were going to make the vote to sanction swimming this

Ancient Greece society evolved around their sports. In fact, they created the
Olympics. Played by mostly men and boys, the sports were to make sure they were
in shape. For people in the army, sports would be played to not only keep you fit,
but to also prepare you for war. They had to be able to march long distances, hold
heavy weapons along with the heavy equipment, and then to fight. The ancient
Olympics were very significantly and were held in Olympia. Unlike the modern
Olympics, though, competitors were only from the Greek towns. They started as a
one day event until 684 BC it became a three day event. The games included running,
long jump, shot put, javelin, boxing, pankration and equestrian events. Over 50,000

locally manufactured cigarettes are Alpine, Longbeach, Marlboro and Peter Jackson.
Imperial Tobacco Australia Ltd (ITA) is the smallest and most recently formed of the

with different packaging and names. The price competition does not significantly
exist in the industry as these companies are price makers rather than price takers. In
addition, the entry into the industry is quite difficult because of three big companies

50. Confucius Beliefs and Teachings
Confucius teaching with regard to the ideal person is focused on describing this
individual as someone who is willing to act in accordance with moral laws and with
the way of the heavens. He believed that people needed to be judged on account of
their merits rather than on their financial status. Confucian teaching promotes the
belief that education is one of the most important concepts in society and that an
educated individual is more likely to have an improved personality and to gain a
more complex understanding of the world as a result of his or her knowledge.
Humanity is the most significant element in Confucian thought and it supports the
belief that there are five primary concepts that a person needs to consider in order
for him or her to become the ideal individual. Ren is meant to portray humanity. Yi
represents the honesty that the respective person needs to employ. Li is the ritual
that he or she needs to take into account. Zhi stands as the knowledge that is
essential in order to achieve the ideal state. Xin is the integrity that a person has to
employ as he or she struggles to be in accordance with the Confucian understanding
of the ideal individual.
While some people might be inclined to believe that such thinking promotes
pessimism as individuals realize that it is very difficult and almost impossible for
them to become ideal persons, the reality is that Confucianism is actually optimistic
with regard to human nature. The fact that it promotes these values
51. Using The Early Childhood Environment Rating Scale
A Pre Kindergarten classroom was observed using the Early Childhood Environment
Rating scale scoresheet. The purpose of this paper will discuss one section, space
and furnishings. The score sheet was used to observe the children and the classroom.
Eight areas where observed, which included indoor space, furnishing, and outdoor
gross motor. Each area had a different score, although certain areas scored an
excellent seven. Overall the classroom had a great score. On Friday, February 5,
2016 I observed Ms. L pre k classroom. I arrived in her classroom at 8:45 am and
stayed until 9:45am. Ms. L was the only teacher present in her classroom, at the
moment she doesn t have an assistant teacher. At the beginning of the observationten
students were present. By 9:30am Ms. L had all twelve of her students present.
The state ratio for a pre k classroom is one to twelve, meaning one teacher can be
with twelve students. However, if another teacher was present in the classroom they
could have up to twenty four students. This ratio includes four and five year olds.
All the children in Ms. L class are four years old, currently none of her students will
turn five until the month of April. Three out of twelve students in the classroom have
either a food allergy or family food preference. I entered the classroom during
breakfast timethe students were having wheat pancakes, but due to one child allergies
he had to eat cornflakes. This was the perfect time to finish interviewing Ms. L,

The piracy of software, images, video, audio, and text has long been a concern for
owners of these digital assets. Protection schemes are usually based upon the insertion
of digital watermarks into the data. The watermarking software introduces small
errors into the object being watermarked. These intentional errors are called marks,
and all the marks together constitute the watermark. The marks are chosen so as to
53. have an insignificant impact on the usefulness of the data and are placed in such a
way that a malicious user cannot destroy them without making the data significantly
less useful.
Although watermarking does not prevent illegal copying, it deters such copying by
providing a means for establishing the original ownership of a redistributed copy.
The increasing use of databases in applications beyond behind the firewalls data
processing is creating a similar need for watermarking databases. The Internet is
exerting tremendous pressure on data

55. Flood Tide By Clive Cussler
Winston S. Churchill once said, I have nothing to offer but blood, toil, tears and
sweat . In the novel Flood Tide by Clive Cussler, Dirk Pitt shows he is always ready
for whatever may come next, and he will attempt to accomplish the task to the best of
his ability. Dirk Pitt continually exemplifies the true meaning of having helpfulness,
bravery, and intelligence in his everyday life. Dirk Pitt, a Special Projects Director at
NUMA, displays many important traits one of which is his helpfulness towards
others. In the beginning of the book, President Wallace orders Pitt to help
Immigration Service with several projects. In a secret meeting between Admiral
James Sandecker, Commander Rudi Gunn, President Dean Wallace, and The

Pitt shows his helpfulness through numerous events, and he also shows his ability
to be brave in a time of need. Pitt s bravery often proves useful in his fight against
Qin Shang. It is in the middle of the book, when Pitt shows his bravery strongly for
one of the first times. When Pitt is sailing out of China on The Oregon he gets
attacked by a Chinese Warship. During the fight Cabrillo, the ship s captain,
watches Pitt down on deck, From his vantage point on the bridge wing, Cabrillo
stood rooted in awe of the unbelievable sight of Pitt contemptuously brushing aside
the air filled with the maddening clatter of the Chengdo s storm of thirty seven
millimeter shells that scythed across The Oregon s cargo deck (215). This
demonstrates the astonishing bravery and lack of fear of death Pitt has. He
continually amazes those around him with his bravery and determination. Earlier
in the book at Orion Lake, Pitt sneaks into Qin Shang s human prison, there he
finds two guards, accustomed to cowering and frightened captives, the two Chinese
guards were petrified with shock at being attacked by a reckless, crazy man in a
rubber suit whose body was considerably larger than either of theirs (83). Pitt attacks
these guards in an effort to save the Chinese immigrants from their captors. After he
knocks out the guards, Pitt tries to rescue some immigrants by taking them by boat.
He takes them down the river where they are being shot at by some more guards.
They are about to die

The Good Witch of the North, the first witch that Dorothy encounters, bestows a
protective kiss upon her forehead but is unable to understand how the silver shoes
that Dorothy got from the dead Wicked Witch of the East and was unable to free
the munchkins from the East wrath. This is a symbol of the Midwest support for
the Populism, because in the north had considerable support, but this support was
no match for the eastern voter, just like the Good Witch was no match against the
East Witch (Taylor 5). Dorothy learns that she is seen as a witch because she has a
white checked shirt and white is seen as a sign of sorcery in Oz, this is also a of
symbol of silver which was known as the white metal and free silver was a key
point in the Populist party (Taylor 5). While the Witch of the North was the good
Witch, The witch of the East was an evil one who had enslaved the munchkins
until Dorothy s house had landed on her and killed her. The Witch of the East s
death is a representation of the eastern financial and industrial interest and their
gold standard allies (Taylor 5). The Wall Street banker and the industrial leader
were thought to be in some kind of conspiracy by the Midwestern farmer who
blamed their woes on them (Taylor 5). They were thought to be out to enslave the
little people , like how the East Witch had enslaved the munchkins (Taylor 5). This
show how the munchkins are symbols of the Midwestern farmers who were enslaved
by Wall Street

I absolutely love reading, I could spend hours curled up in bed with a good book.

was the protagonist in one of these stories. By the time the first Hunger Games
movie came about in 2012 I was in the sixth grade and absolutely obsessed. I had
all the books, magazines, posters and even pillowcases. Naturally I started to
compare all of my school experiences to the Nation of Panem and I was protagonist

The first of these purges came about in 1933, when Nazi party leader Adolf Hitler
ordered all books that advocated for socialist ideas, social justice, and any book by
a Jewish writer to be completely eliminated from the earth. At the time the Jewish
race was an unwanted culture that the Nazi party despised. Hitler wanted to
eliminate impure group of people and their literature along with them. One book in
particular that was removed from a German citizen that lived through the horrors of
WWII was All Quiet on the Western Front. It follows the story of Paul Bäumer,
who is a nineteen year old German soldier. Paul was seen as weak, Anti German,
and an embarrassment to the German nation. All Quiet on the Western front depicts
the horrors of WW I in a eerily realistic way and highlights the superior though
attitude of German soldiers. Due to the terrifying life like descriptions of war many
young man would refuse to join the army during WW2. This novel created a
complication in the Nazi s effort to send soldiers to the front lines.
The was the year 1949, communism was at an all time high, Mao Zedong was now
in control of The people s republic of China, Soviet Union tests the first atomic
bomb and George Orwell publishes his dystopian novel 1984. Much like the

The novel shows what Orwell would predict the year 1984
58. The Maxx By Sam Keith
The Maxx by Sam Keith is story that follows the adventures of a supposedly purple
hero through a real world and an alternative reality. Written in the era known as the
nineties anti hero the Maxx is considered a peculiar comic with a weird purple
character. The Maxx contrasts from the ideal superhero aspect, which dominated in
early 1930s to after World War II, with the anti heroism aspect. The contrasting
superheroaspect, story arc, themes, symbols and imagery in the Maxxcan be used to
argue that Sam Keith has created a literature of tragedy or a comedy. In this essay,
it will be argued that Sam Keith s The Maxx is a tragedy. Specifically Keith s use of
specific symbols, imagery, along with the anti heroism of Maxx will be analyzed in
order to acknowledge The Maxx Maxximized Volume 1 as a tragedy. In this essay,
Maxx from The Maxx Maxximized Volume 1 will be specifically analyzed and
contrasted against Supermanfrom Superman Birthright to establish the anti hero in
contrast to the superhero. The established anti heroism of the Maxx will be
compared to components of tragedy literature as defined by modern literature to
argue the Maxx as a tragedy. Furthermore, the anti hero aspect will be compared to
the mock heroic to further argue that the Maxx is more a tragedy than a comedy.
Finally specific themes will be touched on to reveal that the Maxx is a tragedy. The
superhero is defined as a heroic character who possess superpowers, with a universal,
selfless and
