Advantages And Disadvantages Of Homeopathy
4.0 Advantages and Disadvantages of Homeopathy and Western Medicine
Both Western medicine and homoeopathy have their own advantages that separates them from each
other. The drugs used by western medicine doctors make it difficult for the disease to spread and is a
faster way of curing the patient (Mind Body Green, 2017). Western medicine has a higher efficacy
compared to homoeopathy, where more than half of the chronic and acute problems are cured
successfully (Butter Nutrition, 2017). Furthermore, it is developed from clinical trials, hence it is
evidence based medicine and reliable for patient treatment. The training received by professionals is
also at a higher standard, reducing the risk of accidents or complications (Australian Medical
Association, 2017). On the other hand, homoeopathy can minimize side effects and, it is gentle and
safer for long term use since there are fewer side effects due to the remedies being natural.
Homeopathy actually builds a person s immune system and makes that person highly resistant to many
diseases (deliciousliving, 2017). It could be an alternative if mainstream medicine fails to treat an
illness where, the treatments are cheap and easy to dispense. This is why homoeopathy is famous in
developing countries and rural areas of Australia (The Australian Rural Doctor, 2017).
However, both methods of treatments also come with disadvantages. In western medicine drugs are
used and the treatments are made out of chemicals that can be harmful

Norsemen Family Circle Analysis
During basketball season my senior year of high school, we did an activity called the Norsemen
Family Circle. In this exercise one person sat in the middle of a circle, surrounded by the whole team.
Each person went around in the circle and gave the person in the middle a compliment, or something
to make them feel better. My coach picked me to be the first person in the circle, and I was not used to
getting the compliments that I got from the underclassmen. Multiple times I got told that I was a great
leader and someone that they looked up to, not only as a basketball player, but as a person. In high
school I didn t really receive comments from anyone. I was the athlete that worked my hardest all the
time, but never got the recognition

The Shoe Horn Sonata Distinctively Visual Essay
We live in a society where visual images are becoming increasingly significant, as most information in
the media is presented as a combination of pictures and words. Visual representations enable
individuals to interpret and evaluate texts that communicate with images more effectively.
Distinctively visual techniques are used to enhance and challenge the way an individual understands
personal experiences and the world. The way that they perceive these experiences can be shaped
through distinctively visual techniques, as the vivid images can allow them to make sense of the world
and provide diverse perspectives on how they view it. John Misto s play The Shoe horn Sonata (1996)

Descriptive Essay About The Pool
Alright, kiddos, Teacher announces, we re here. Before we head into the pool, let s check. What are
the pool rules again?
An assortment of enthusiastic voices cries out, Sunscreen, get a buddy, we have to see you Anything
said beyond is incomprehensible.
That s right, confirms Teacher, you need sunscreen, a swimming buddy, eyes on me, and you MUST, I
repeat, MUST wear your floaties when going to the deep end. That being said, everyone follow me to
the pool.
The short walk to the pool is a blur to Zane. His mind is elsewhere thinking of all the fun things he s
going to do, I m gonna make big splashes and race my friends and go to the deep end and do cool
things and make big splashes. When the pool finally comes into view, it s a paradise. An ocean of
clear, wavy water covers all the eye can see. Zane can see all the way to the bottom, and if not for the
distorting ripples he would believe it to be empty. The pool makes a distinct L shape, branching off to
the side to mark the deeper waters. It is already occupied with people of all ages. Most are lounging
around on rafts or in inner tubes, but some of the younger inhabitants are gleefully splashing and
flailing about. Multicolored balls soar through the air, descending until forced skywards with a
satisfying whack. Just as Zane had imagined, children are in competition, playing water tag, racing
one another, and throwing balls of mass destruction. He finally succumbs to his anticipation and starts

Literature Review On Blended Language Learning
Literature Review
This section discusses the fundamental concepts of blended language learning. It highlights basic
issues such as constructivism, eLearning, blended learning and Blackboard Learning Management
System (LMS) definitions, purposes, and advantages. It also reviews previous research that relevant to
the use of Blackboard in blended language environment in higher education.
Introduction
Constructivism is a theory of knowing and a way of examining how humans learn (Fosnot, 1996).
Constructivist learning theory pertains to the engendering and constructing of knowledge based on one
s experience (Vygotsky 1978). The Constructivist theory of Jerome Bruner (1996) provides the learner
with opportunities to reflect on their experiences. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The limited time and the expanded classes usually hamper the effectiveness of learning and teaching
of language. The result is an increase in the demand to construct a learning environment for language
in both the traditional and non traditional modes that foster autonomous learning in an out of
classroom setting. The presumption with this notion is that traditional classroom teaching is
inadequate in making students hone their independent skills for language learning. Technology based
language learning firmly adheres to the ideology that asserts that learners must develop their goals
throughout their learning process and to be capable of planning and reflecting, as well as directing,
their respective learning experiences (Chang,

Alcoholism Addiction And An Addiction Essay
Traditionally speaking, alcoholism is an addiction to consuming alcohol. There are some organizations
and people out there that would combat that widely accepted thought, and consider it a disease over an
addiction. What is the difference between a disease and an addiction? To determine the appropriate
label, both definitions and the actions that give them that specific definition must be examined. There
is a line that separates what is a disease and what is an addiction and there are many different forms of
each. Alcoholism is one that is categorized as both, but often it falls into the category of an addiction.
According to the American Society of Addiction Medicine, Addiction is characterized by the inability
to consistently Abstain, Impairment in Behavioral control; Craving; or increased hunger for drugs or
rewarding experiences, diminished recognition of significant problems with one s behaviors and
interpersonal relationships; and a dysfunctional emotional response. On the contrary the definition of a
disease, according to Oxford Dictionary, is a disorder of structure or function in a human, animal, or
plant, especially one that produces specific symptoms or that affects a specific location and is not
simply a direct result of physical injury. Both definitions can greatly relate to what alcoholism is and
as to why it is so closely related to both. Many believe that alcoholism is a disease. Something that
relates to genetics and the person who has the disease

Indians By The Golden Gate Analysis
Ricon Annex: Indians by the Golden Gate Anton Refregier was well known for his artistry due to the
simple fact that all his work represented meaningful, significant, powerful plastic statement based on
the history and lives of the people. This simple concept is why his beautiful and powerful murals have
influenced artists for generations. The murals within the Ricon Annex illustrated how Anton was able
to atest to his principles and showcase the history of California as well as the struggles that
accomponied the devlopment of this amazing state. The murals, some noted as controversioal, also
displayed the negative moments throughout the history of the state. Specifically, the mural Indians by

The effort put in the creation of the mural can be immeditley be conveyed by the precise details of all
three natives on the boat. Furthermore, Anton s style of simplicity by primarly painting in a one

red to evoke emotions is very apparent in this mural. Rather than focusing on the mural itself, the
viewer is forced to anaylze the subject matter. In this mural the matter revolves around the death of
almost 250,000 natives due to general mistreatment, massacere, disiese, disposesssion, and other
indigitinieites. The mistreatment of natives throughout American history has always been problemtic.

Evaluation Of A Psychiatric Placement Without Legal...
In relatively recent American history one could be civilly committed to a psychiatric placement
without legal intervention. Prior to the 1970s persons with mental illness were often subject to gross
negligence when they were committed to a psychiatric placement. Furthermore, individuals who were
committed to these institutions lost their civil rights. Before the 1950s persons in the United States of
America could be held without legal jurisdiction in psychiatric asylums. The 1950s had some changes
to these laws. However, the practices at these institutions were often abusive. Overcrowding, lack of
funding, and theory all contributed to the inhumane treatment of the mentally ill. However, since the
1970s those persons who require a civil commitment have not only gained additional rights, but they
have also been given the ability to challenge their committal. Further, those who have been
institutionalized are offered treatment. Finally, the emphasis in the United States has been on
deinstitutionalization which requires that a commitment occurs at the least restrictive level of care. In
the United States of America, the changes to the mental health system have provided persons with
mental illness not only a chance at restoration but also dignity. The primary legal justification for
civilly committing a person to a psychiatric institution in the United States of America is for their
safety of the safety of society. For example, according to Meyer and Weaver, individuals

Chris Going Into The Wild
The result of one s nose
Stress has and always will be a necessary part of life. Without stress, one can fall victim to the allure
of cowardice and die because of their choices. Chris is a perfect example of a coward looking to
escape the woes of everyday life. Like every other human, Chris must cope with daily stress. If one
looks at Chris s arduous life of a loving family, pristine home, and family vacations it is blatantly
obvious why Chris felt the need to run away from the life his parents forge for him with their blood,
sweat, and tears. One can only speculate the reason behind Chris going into the wild is because Chris

Chris goes into the wild with nothing but a few odds and ends that will be irrelevant in saving the life
Chris is so heart set on destroying. The first time Chris goes into the wild Chris is lucky and escapes
unscathed. As a result, Chris s ego becomes over inflated and Chris sees the harsh world as his to own.
When Chris spends time with other people, he observes their lifestyle. However, while observing
other peoples lives Chris acts disconnected, as though he were above other peoples lives. Chris s
father even admits during an interview that Chris didn t think that the odds applied to him. We were
always trying to pull him back from the edge . From Walt s statement, one can see Chris is arrogant
and always has been. As a child, Chris s parents kept his arrogance in check, making Chris incapable
of allowing his arrogant nature to shine. Chris s parents efforts to quell their son s arrogance created a
person who despised his parents for their good natured efforts. Despite Chris s parents best efforts,
Chris s unconquerable arrogance kills him and rips Chris s parents life to shreds. According to
speaker, author, and psychologist Dr. Joshua Coleman, parents can do everything right for their
children and be the best parent they can be, but despite their greatest efforts their children can still turn

What Is The Decision To Increase The Federal Funds Rate
Article Analysis Just a few days ago, the Federal Reserve increased the federal funds rate from 1.25%
to 1.5%. The federal funds rate is one method that the Federal Reserve uses to control monetary
policy. The other methods used by the Fed to control monetary policy are open market operations, and
the discount window. The federal funds rate is defined as the interest rate that banks charge each other
to lend reserve funds. The federal funds rate is usually than the discount rate so that banks are more
inclined to go to other banks first, rather than the Fed. During the recession in 2008, the federal funds
rate was near 0 in the hopes that banks would lend more, and the economy would be kickstarted.
However, as the effects of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another Mankiw principle that this touches upon is that society faces a short run tradeoff between
inflation and unemployment. Policymakers can intervene with this tradeoff, by using several different
tools and this is one example of that. The unemployment rate is currently at a 17 year low, but the
inflation rate is similarly low. By increasing the federal funds rate, the unemployment rate will
continue to remain low, while an increase in inflation can be expected. Finally, the last Mankiw
principle that the article relates to is that people respond to incentives. Because of the increased
federal funds rate, people may be willing to save more in the hopes that interest rates will increase,
and they will be paid more. At a lower federal funds rate, people may be willing to spend more,
because interest rates will not pay them as much. A concept which we learned in class that this relates
to is monetary policy. While fiscal policy is developed by Congress to change the U.S. economy,
monetary policy is used exclusively by the Federal Reserve. It involves either increasing the money
supply by buying treasury bonds, or lowering the reserve requirement and discount rate. When the
money supply needs to be decreased, the Fed does the opposite of those actions. Another concept that
this relates to is the federal funds market, which is the market that allows banks that fall short of the
reserve requirement to borrow reserves

Nazi Propaganda Was A Well Know Thing During The Holocaust
Nazi Propaganda was a well know thing during the holocaust. Hitler and Joseph Goebbels were the
ring leaders. Hitler became the German chancellor, and in March of that year he appointed Goebbels
the country s minister for public enlightenment and propaganda. Goebbels had complete jurisdiction
over the content of German newspapers, magazines, books, music, films, stage plays, radio programs
and fine arts. His mission was to censor all opposition to Hitler and present the chancellor and the
Nazi Party in the most positive light while stirring up hatred for Jewish people. Hitler was a well
supported person. Many Germans supported him for many reasons. The purpose of propaganda was to
condition and convince people, and get them to believe in the values and ideas of the Nazis.
Propaganda is well known for war posters. It is a mode of communication aimed at influencing the
attitude of a community toward some cause or position. Propaganda was used by the Nazi party in the
years leading up to and during Adolf Hitler s leadership of Germany. Propaganda was a crucial
instrument for acquiring and maintaining power. The Nazis used propaganda to increase their support
and appeal. They spent huge sums of money on newspapers, leaflets and poster campaigns with
simple slogans encouraging people to support the party.
The military style of the Nazis involved using large political rallies to gain support. These were vast,
highly organized events with banners and marching bands. The rallies

Thelma And Louise Compare And Contrast
The two movies I am going to compare are Thelma Louise and North Country. The sexual
harassments to women both happened in these two movies, but the solutions of the main characters
were different, and the outcomes of them were disparate, therefore, I wondered how did the main
characters in each movie responded to the sexual harassment, and if it is different, why was it? By
focusing on the different situations and personalities of the characters, especially Thelma and Josey, I
m going to compare and analyze the motivations that lead them to make such decisions and the ways
that they dealt with the harassments. Firstly, I want to compare the scenes that happened before
Thelma and Josey were sexually harassed and analyze their similarities. ... Show more content on

Slavery In African American History
Modern and historical forces combine to keep the racial hierarchy in the dominant cultures control.
Historically, slavery was diplomatically protected within our constitution safeguarding the control and
ownership of African Americans. The three fifths compromise written into the constitution in 1787,
safeguarded slaveowners by greatly increase the representation and political power of slave owning
states (Laws, 2017). Slavery was widespread within the southern states until the year of 1865, when
slavery and involuntary servitude were abolished, except for those duly convicted of a crime. Between
1866 and 1870, through congress a radical reconstruction era was executed ensuring guaranteed
freedom and civil rights to former slaves. These turn of events, incensed southern slave owners giving

The Sex Lives Of Cannibals Summary
Several thousand miles away from the out stretched borders of the United States lies the island
republic of Kiribati. Stretching along the equator, Kiribati consists of 33 atolls, which are ring shaped
coral reefs or islands that surround a body of water called a lagoon. With a total land mass equivalent
to Baltimore, Kiribati boasts a population of around 80,000 people scattered across its 21 inhabited
islands. Tarawa is the capital of Kiribati and where the story, ultimately, begins. J. Maarten Troost s
adventure to the island atoll of Tarawa is told within the pages of his book, The Sex Lives of
Cannibals. Misadventures galore, Troost describes his existence on Tarawa during a two year journey

Marines. Many remnants of the fight still reside on Tarawa. Reefs are polluted with the rusting
carcasses of ships and planes, abandoned bunkers are used as toilets and trash receptacles, and old

on Tarawa stems from the mere pittance that the United States paid for fishing rights around Kiribati.
Regardless of the amount paid by the US and other countries very little benefitted the locals of the
islands being drained of their natural resources. The outcome was dishonesty and incompetence by a
government that misused funds and oppressed its own citizens. The residents now have a serious

Thesis Statement On Civic Spaces
Hrushita Davey
PA101614
Masters in Architecture Thesis Proposal
December 2015
Guided by: Professor Jigna Desai
Abstract
My point of departure for this thesis is that in many of our post industrial cities, the civic realm has
increasingly shrunk and the private realm has continuously expanded and civic spaces are arguably
more important today than ever. Most people are found using the unplanned public spaces rather than
the planned public spaces. The issue is approached by focusing on a middle ground between urban
planning and design of individual buildings. The intent is to design an insertion that responds to
specific features of the existing urban structure and the regulatory framework currently in place. Here
the juxtaposition of the old and new becomes the visible passage of time. The re appropriation of old
forms includes what maybe called the neo vernacular as one mode of intellectual justification for
architecture in our times. This proposition is an attempt to demonstrate a continuous interface between
public and private spaces and between access networks and inhabitable spaces.

The impact on civic spaces post liberalization and the consequent globalization has been tremendous.
Today, most of the emerging civic spaces are sadly being designed like commodities. The other very
obvious shift is seen in the aspiration of cities at large to emerge as front runners in the global rat race.
This global ambition unfortunately fails to acknowledge the local. While it may be true that the
Government, both at the central and state level is trying to address and bring amends to the existing
condition (including the regulatory framework) of the civic realm, there is still a long way to go for

The Segregation Of The United States
In Spite of the devastating history of segregation in the United States. A lot has changed in the past
fifty years since segregation ended. The United States shifted from arresting African Americans for
using white only facilities to integrated schools all over the country. Influential individuals such as
Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King Jr helped pave the way for African Americans to live as equals to
along with their white counterparts in the United States of America. What is Segregation In 1896 the
United States Supreme Court ruled that it was constitutionally legal to segregate African Americans
with their white counterparts. In the court case of Plessy v. Ferguson an African American man in
Louisiana named Homer Plessy refused to follow the mandated Jim Crow laws which enforced that
African Americans have to sit in a designated area when riding on a train. Plessy argued that his
fourteenth amendment right was violated equal protection clause, which prohibits the states from
denying equal protection of the laws to any person within their jurisdictions (Duignan, 2016).
However, when Plessy s case moved to the Supreme Court they ruled the object of the Fourteenth
Amendment was to create absolute equality of the two races before the law, such equality extended
only so far as political and civil rights (e.g., voting and serving on juries), not social rights (e.g., sitting
in a railway car one chooses) (McBride, n.d. ). As a result, Plessy v. Ferguson

The Individualism Of The American Colonies
In this passage, Paine emphasizes how the unique individualism of the American colonies cannot exist
under Great Britain. While it may be a rational and more peaceful decision to remain under Great
Britain s control, the oppression of the American colonies individualism is one that goes against
common sense and is a situation that calls for a passionate revolution. The emphasis on individualism
and passionate expression of the self during the late 18th and early 19th century is also exemplified in
the musical realm through the revolutionary work of one of the most highly influential musicians,
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. At the time of Mozart s birth, the most popular and conventional music
was created in the style of the Renaissance and Baroque periods. After the discovery of Mozart s
prodigal musical genius and honing his skill through several positions of employment, Mozart began
to realize his individualism as a gifted artist. Mozart became aware of his potential for greatness and
used his gift not to conform to the style of music at the time, but to use his music as a form of
passionate self expression. Mozart would not let anything extinguish his passion and freedom to
create, even if it caused him great financial struggle throughout most of adulthood. The musical pieces
Mozart created differed from that the music of the time in the sense that his work was highly driven by
passion and emotion. Rather than focusing solely on the structure and the elaborateness of the

is a classic poem that describes the way the Trojans survived after the Greeks invaded and destroyed
their hometown, Troy. The Poem explains the Trojans movements and how they found the city of
Rome that was ruled by King Latinus at the time. The King at the time was happy to open his arms to
the Trojans, as he believed in a prophecy that stated that it was meant to be that his daughter had to get
married to a foreigner. It only made sense for the King to welcome the Trojans, as by doing so he
would increase the chances of the prophecy being fulfilled. While this was the King s hopes plan s, his
wife Amata wanted Lavania to marry the King of Rutilians, Turnus who ruled an ethnic group in Italy.
The conflict rose when King Latinus decided to hand his daughter s hand to Aeneas, and Turnus hot
tempered as always did not sit quiet and launched an attack against Aeneas, which ended up lead to
the death of Turnus. The series of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Gargoyles Research Paper
Gargoyles were defining elements of the Gothic period, constructed primarily by Elliot Viollet Le Duc
in the 19th century as part of a restoration project of the Notre Dame Cathedral. Gargoyles served as a
political commentary of the times, and a functional purpose of protecting the Cathedral. The most
iconic gargoyle, the Pensive Demon, sits atop Notre Dame Cathedral s South tower. This statue is
actually a chimera, not a gargoyle, since it isn t functional to the building and is purely decor. Also
referred to as the Melancholy Demon or Le Stryge, which according to mythology, is a half woman,
half bird demon that seeks to harm children, found prominently in cemeteries . Le Stryge was made in
the 19th century during which time a hierarchy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the middle ages, gargoyles were the subject of pagan and demonic conversation , but for Viollet le
Duc they represented salvation, protection, and the soul of the building. Gargoyles that sat near the
great bells provided amplification of sound when they went off, an important function that told
citizens when to awake or pray . Viollet le Duc was appalled at the actions of the rebels that recklessly
tore down the old gargoyles and replaced them with lead pipes, which proved ineffective and caused
significant water damage to the cathedral. Gargoyles served a very important purpose of steering
water out of the cathedral along with being artistically sound. While researching, Viollet le Duc
realized how useful it is to multiply gargoyles in masses so that the drainage system would be
perfected. Limestone was a material that could be cut into long, thin shapes and would further
accentuate decorative qualities of the gargoyles, along with helping to anchor the building and provide
extra support . Viollet le Duc insisted on proving the gargoyles functionality to a point of absurdity. He
created gargoyles that held pots to further steer water away. He also formulated canopies for the
gargoyles, during a time where canopies were reserved for saints and holy purposes. Viollet le Duc
either found his gargoyles to be sacred, or he was further making fun of religion and its symbolism
and his distaste for it . All of these elements prove a point that Viollet le Duc s main goal was
preservation of the structure after restoration, and he found gargoyles to be the most modern and
functional elements of its gothic

Sharon Harris Reaction Paper
In the event of a mass casualty incident, say a hypothetical incident at the Sharon Harris nuclear
facility, there will be a variety of responding parties from local fire and rescue, to the North Carolina
Emergency Management office in Raleigh, to federal assets to including the Nuclear Regulatory
Commission and the military. Finally the private sector will also be involved such as local businesses
and hotels for shelters.
In this hypothetical incident at the Sharon Harris nuclear facility, there is a fire reported in the turbine
room. Sharon Harris has their own fire department on site which will be the first due engine at the fire,
backed up by the Holly Springs and Fuquay Varina fire departments. At this time the onsite fire
department has determined that there was an accidental radiological release. This information is then
passed up the chain of command to Progress Energy the owners of Sharon Harris; and Progress
Energy will activate their emergency action plans. Progress Energy s plans includes staff putting on

The Knowledge Of God s Existence And Fundamental...
Using solely reason, we can obtain genuine knowledge about God s existence and fundamental
characteristics. Although the more complete knowledge of God unveiled in revelation cannot be
strictly proven through the use of reason, this knowledge is consistent with that which we have come
to know through reason. Therefore, it is entirely reasonable to hold the Catholic narrative of God as
truth.
Modern society, however, insists that only what is proven through science is worth believing. This
attitude stems from the belief that the scientific method employed in science is the only clear cut
method for determining truth. This is why renowned physicist Stephen Hawking s scientific
explanation for the complexity and origin of the universe is well respected by many. Hawking s
Scientific Determinism supposes that we are in fact biological machines whose decisions are
determined by the chemical reactions that occur within the body, thus eliminating the concept of free
will. Furthermore, Scientific Determinism effectively removes God from the picture by insisting that
scientific laws cannot be laws if [they] only hold when some supernatural being decides not to
intervene. Hawking s theory is supposed to be trustworthy because it relies on the scientific method of
determining causes and their effects. However, this viewpoint, as scientific as it may seem, fails to
provide multiple causes or explanations to critical questions. As Thomas Nagel points out, Hawking
fails to

Murderer Rights For Inmates
My essay is about a murderer in jail goes to the ER because another inmate attacked him. It is ethical
for the murderer to be treated in the ER because everyone has a right to health care. It doesn t matter if
he was had a murder streak, armed robbery etc. every living person has a right to be treated from the
smallest thing like streptococcus pneumoniae to heart transplant. It is also under The Rights For
Inmates stating Inmates are entitled to medical care and attention as needed to treat both short term
conditions and long term illnesses. The medical care provided must be adequate. It is legal because no
one can be denied health care. Personally i think it s right because a person shouldn t have a label

Dulce Et Decorum
Dulce et Decorum Est Dulce et Decorum by author Wilfred Owen was a poem about anti war, the
setting of the poem takes place on the battlefield during World War One. Through his use of imagery,
and tone, the author obviously shows the theme of death and warfare. In the poem vivid imagery is
used to help readers understand the theme. Many had lost their boots, but limped on, blood shod. In
that part of the poem he uses the word blood shod; that means the soldiers in the poem are wearing
shoes of blood and have to walk around all the blood shed that surrounds them on the battlefield. The
author uses the similes obscene as cancer to compare the battlefield to cancer, because cancer is a man
s killer. Another simile he uses is Coughing

Analysis Of Jean Shepherd s Red Ryder Nails The Hammond Kid
Jean Shepherd s Red Ryder Nails the Hammond Kid is short story about a man looking back on his
childhood. As a boy, he desperately wanted a Red Ryder BB Gun. The story was originally published
in 1966 in Shepherd s collection of semi autobiographical short stories called In God We Trust, All
Others Pay in Cash, as well as in Playboy Magazine. Bob Clark s 1983 A Christmas Story is an
adaptation of a mixture of Shepherd s short stories including Red Ryder Nails the Hammond Kid and
a skit he heard on a radio talk show in 1968. Clark s adaptation changes, removes from, and adds to
the plot of Shepherd s original short story.
Firstly, A Christmas Story changes the style of the framed narrative. In the story, Ralph Parker is
looking back on his childhood after a woman expresses her opinion on disarming the toy industry.
However, the movie opens inside Ralph s childhood with an adult Ralph as the narrator. This change
does not take away from the story, though. It allows the audience to be put right into the action of the
story rather than making the audience wait for something to happen that causes the narrator to look
back on their life.
Secondly, Clark adds to the relationships within Ralph s family. In the story, the reader does not read
much about the people in the family. From the story, the reader knows that Ralph s father or as Ralph
calls him, the Old Man has a temper and a tendency to swear. The Old Man is a very hardworking
man who is always fixing things,

Human Embryonic Stem Cells
The human embryonic stem cells (hESCs) have defined by Bryant and Schwartz (2008) is in the
mammalian embryo, there are several cell divisions that take place after the fertilization of the sperm
and the egg in the uterus. There is no growth in the total volume of the cell, so the cells that are known
as blastomeres get progressively smaller. Then, they are rearranging into a hollow ball known as
blastocyst and surround the blastocoel which is a fluid filled cavity. The blastocyts and then segregate
into an outer layer called tropoblast and an inner cell mass (ICM). The tropoblast will form the
placenta to the fetus while the inner cell mass that contains human embryonic stem cell will form the
tissues of the fetus. According to Sandel and Phil (2004), the hESCs can cure and provide treatment
for many kinds of disease such as Parkinson, Alzheimer, diabetes and spinal cord injury. But, ethical
issues of hESCs research, therefore, overlap with those of the embryo research. On top of that, De
Wert and Mummery (2003) commented that the research of hESCs has high political and ethical
agenda in many countries. Their use in the treatment of disease remains controversial regardless of
their potential benefit. This is because their derivation from the early embryo. As Fischbach,
Fischbach and others (2004) observe:
Human embryonic stem cells offer the promise of a new regenerative medicine in which damaged
adult cells can be replaced with new cells. Research is needed to determine

Diary Of Kaamet Analysis
I was born on the month of Renwet, during the Fourth of Peret. My father used to tell me stories of
how both our moons fell on that day, an omen, an indication of prosperity and future success to come.
I never believed him, for I had never seen the moons fall. The planet of Kaamet has two moons; the
larger one named Khonsu, the smaller one named Iah. It is said that once every 500 years, these
moons fall, and a new member of the royal family is born. The sky turns a deep, blood red, with
streaks of indigo and violet painting the sky. A vendetta of colour: raging, violent, yet beautiful. The
birthing ceremony was nearly perfect. The rites were performed by the highest regarded priestesses of

you again! Father s face lit up at his brother s greeting. Yes Asim , he said, smiling. It has been quite a
while. But the festivities have started, and you are late! Come meet your niece. Asim leaned over my
cradle and kissed my forehead. He mumbled a prayer, blessing me, a tradition for this occasion. It was
at this moment that I knew that things would never be the same. As Asim finished reciting the prayer,
he tapped my forehead 3 times. Leaning in close, Asim pressed his lips to my year and uttered three
words that would change the course of Kaametian history: I. Will.

Essay On The Republic Of Plato
Unless, I said, the philosophers rule as kings or those now called kings and chiefs genuinely and
adequately philosophize, and political power and philosophy coincide in the same place, while the
many natures now making their way to either apart from the other are by necessity excluded, there is
no rest from ills for the cities, my dear Glaucon, nor I think for human kind, nor will the regime we
have now described in speech ever come forth from nature, insofar as possible, and see the light of the
sun. (THE REPUBLIC OF PLATO By Allan B 473d 473e)

To my understanding, men do not become philosopher. Philosophers are born philosophers, they are
gifted ones. It is by nature and as per Plato, it is very important that the most gifted youths be given a
very good training from their early age otherwise they will turn to bad ones if given bad training. This
is why it is imperative that philosopher kings rule the state. They will provide proper, better training
for the philosophers to become than those leaders who rule by opinions and beliefs. This is probably
what happens to Hitler. He became a monster because he did not receive a proper training. The way he
went from street to power shows he was no ordinary person. He would probably have been a better
leader if he received a proper education. There are a lot to say but since limited by the length of the

Thomas Pynchon Accomplishments
Thomas Pynchon is an American author, known for his deep and complex novels. Some say he is the
greatest American author since World War II. Being such a private person, there are only few pictures
of him in the public, and only few interviews with him. By using satire, irony, and symbolism, he
showcased the moral flaws in humans at that time in society. Doing so he influenced many future
writers, and artists, as well as the literature world. Pynchon is known for being part of the
postmodernism movement in literature.
Born on May 8th 1937, in New York, he is the descendent of William Pynchon, the founder of
Springfield, Massachusetts. His long line of wealthy ancestors and family style greatly influenced his
writings. He was student of the year at Oyster Bay High, and ... Show more content on

of the cyberpunk genre, of which Stephenson and Gibson were very prominent authors in. Pynchon is
believed to be the reason cyberpunk made its way into the literature world and grew into a popular
genre. The Bible of the 21st Century has an Old Testament and a New. The Old, written in 1973 by
Thomas Pynchon, is called Gravity s Rainbow. In 1987, in Spin Magazine, Thomas Leary compared
Pynchon s novel to the Old Testament, as if it was like the beginning of something, that without
Pynchon, cyberpunk would not be the genre that it is today. He stated that the New Testament to
Pynchon s novel was Gibson s novel; Neuromancer. His novel was published in 1973, and cyberpunk
was not viewed as a literary genre until the early 1980 s. His novel is considered to be the original
cyberpunk novel, which is why some categorize it in that

The Female And Female Imagery Of The Apocalypse Of John
This week s reading is excerpts from A Feminist Companion to The Apocalypse of John which
examine the male and female imagery of the Book of Revelation in various ways. Each contributor
explained the gendered symbolism in one of four ways: Christian purity, recast of Greco Roman
goddess mythology, character rhetography of wealth, and male deity dominance. While the studies
found in previous weeks were fine pointed in their scholastic dissection, more or less, the studies this
week pull out details to find broader pictures and showcase the plurality offered during the
interpretation of the Book of Revelation.
Stenstrum viewed the male female symbols of Revelation as a parallel to John of Patmos view of the
ideal Christian. The divided world in which its author resided, led Revelation to further the dichotomy
by drawing a line in the sand between pure and impure Christians. This is best illustrated by the
contrast between the classical images of the woman bathed by the sun and the Great Whore of
Babylon. The purity language is used in both the male and female symbols, symbols which are further
glorified by the negative use of such sexual imagery as the previous example. Men to be used for God
s Holy War, such as the 144,000 in verse 14.4, are also expected to maintain purity and remain virgins.
The use of male female symbolism did not remain in the sexual realm. In other words, some of the
dualism between the genders had nothing to do with sex and bodies . For instance,

... what mystery, that broke out, now in fire and now in blood, at the deadest hours of the night? What
creature was it, that masked an ordinary woman s face and shape, uttered the voice, now of a mocking
demon, and anon of a carrion seeking bird of prey? (Brontë 221). A brief synopsis of Charlotte Brontë
s novel, Jane Eyre, is present in this short quote, which describes the mystery that is present within the
novel. As well as its gothic sensation, romance is present as well, giving the novel its feminine
characteristics. Foreshadowing is a main aspect which helps prolong the suspense in the novel. The
element of foreshadowing helps the reader foresee the upcoming events in the novel. These gothic
elements create a mysterious plot within the novel, which escalates during the climax. Novels in the
Gothic Romance genre include many mysterious events, as well as a twisted love story. Jane Eyre is
classified as a Gothic Romance due to its gloomy setting, elements of mystery and suspense, and
supernatural components.
In like manner, Jane Eyre contained a gloomy setting that follows throughout the novel. The first main
indication of Jane Eyre being a Gothic Romance was when Jane was living at Gateshead Hall. When
Jane was sent to the red room, imagery was presented which links the room to the idea of death. . . .. it
was in this chamber he breathed his last; . . . and, since that day, a sense of dreary consecration had
guarded it from frequent intrusion (Brontë 8). Having a

Charles Chesnutt The Conjure Woman
Superstitions and Folklore in Charles W. Chesnutt s The Conjure Woman Charles Waddell Chesnutt is
an African American writer who writes many novels and short stories about African American
superstitions and folklore of the south in The Conjure Woman. The Conjure Woman is a collection of
folktales that explore complex issues of racial and social identity in the post Civil War. Chesnutt
writes these stories in vernacular forms to represent the oral act of storytelling and express Chesnutt s
black identity and cultural heritage of African American people. Chesnutt s folktales show how whites
treat African American people as second class citizens. Chesnutt also uses African American folklore
to celebrate his black identity throughout telling these stories. Chesnutt s The Conjure Woman
represents African American traditions through telling stories about superstitions and folklore of the
south and displays Uncle Julius s purposes of telling conjure tales. The Conjure Woman is collected
seven conjure stories that talk about magic works and superstitions. Uncle Julius is an ex slave who is

  • 2. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Homeopathy 4.0 Advantages and Disadvantages of Homeopathy and Western Medicine Both Western medicine and homoeopathy have their own advantages that separates them from each other. The drugs used by western medicine doctors make it difficult for the disease to spread and is a faster way of curing the patient (Mind Body Green, 2017). Western medicine has a higher efficacy compared to homoeopathy, where more than half of the chronic and acute problems are cured successfully (Butter Nutrition, 2017). Furthermore, it is developed from clinical trials, hence it is evidence based medicine and reliable for patient treatment. The training received by professionals is also at a higher standard, reducing the risk of accidents or complications (Australian Medical Association, 2017). On the other hand, homoeopathy can minimize side effects and, it is gentle and safer for long term use since there are fewer side effects due to the remedies being natural. Homeopathy actually builds a person s immune system and makes that person highly resistant to many diseases (deliciousliving, 2017). It could be an alternative if mainstream medicine fails to treat an illness where, the treatments are cheap and easy to dispense. This is why homoeopathy is famous in developing countries and rural areas of Australia (The Australian Rural Doctor, 2017). However, both methods of treatments also come with disadvantages. In western medicine drugs are used and the treatments are made out of chemicals that can be harmful ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Norsemen Family Circle Analysis During basketball season my senior year of high school, we did an activity called the Norsemen Family Circle. In this exercise one person sat in the middle of a circle, surrounded by the whole team. Each person went around in the circle and gave the person in the middle a compliment, or something to make them feel better. My coach picked me to be the first person in the circle, and I was not used to getting the compliments that I got from the underclassmen. Multiple times I got told that I was a great leader and someone that they looked up to, not only as a basketball player, but as a person. In high school I didn t really receive comments from anyone. • 4. The Shoe Horn Sonata Distinctively Visual Essay We live in a society where visual images are becoming increasingly significant, as most information in the media is presented as a combination of pictures and words. Visual representations enable individuals to interpret and evaluate texts that communicate with images more effectively. Distinctively visual techniques are used to enhance and challenge the way an individual understands personal experiences and the world. The way that they perceive these experiences can be shaped through distinctively visual techniques, as the vivid images can allow them to make sense of the world and provide diverse perspectives on how they view it. • 5. Descriptive Essay About The Pool Alright, kiddos, Teacher announces, we re here. Before we head into the pool, let s check. What are the pool rules again? An assortment of enthusiastic voices cries out, Sunscreen, get a buddy, we have to see you Anything said beyond is incomprehensible. That s right, confirms Teacher, you need sunscreen, a swimming buddy, eyes on me, and you MUST, I repeat, MUST wear your floaties when going to the deep end. That being said, everyone follow me to the pool. The short walk to the pool is a blur to Zane. His mind is elsewhere thinking of all the fun things he s going to do, I m gonna make big splashes and race my friends and go to the deep end and do cool things and make big splashes. When the pool finally comes into view, it s a paradise. An ocean of clear, wavy water covers all the eye can see. Zane can see all the way to the bottom, and if not for the distorting ripples he would believe it to be empty. The pool makes a distinct L shape, branching off to the side to mark the deeper waters. It is already occupied with people of all ages. Most are lounging around on rafts or in inner tubes, but some of the younger inhabitants are gleefully splashing and flailing about. Multicolored balls soar through the air, descending until forced skywards with a satisfying whack. Just as Zane had imagined, children are in competition, playing water tag, racing one another, and throwing balls of mass destruction. He finally succumbs to his anticipation and starts toward the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The limited time and the expanded classes usually hamper the effectiveness of learning and teaching of language. The result is an increase in the demand to construct a learning environment for language in both the traditional and non traditional modes that foster autonomous learning in an out of classroom setting. The presumption with this notion is that traditional classroom teaching is inadequate in making students hone their independent skills for language learning. Technology based language learning firmly adheres to the ideology that asserts that learners must develop their goals throughout their learning process and to be capable of planning and reflecting, as well as directing, their respective learning experiences (Chang, ... • 7. Alcoholism Addiction And An Addiction Essay Traditionally speaking, alcoholism is an addiction to consuming alcohol. There are some organizations and people out there that would combat that widely accepted thought, and consider it a disease over an addiction. What is the difference between a disease and an addiction? To determine the appropriate label, both definitions and the actions that give them that specific definition must be examined. There is a line that separates what is a disease and what is an addiction and there are many different forms of each. Alcoholism is one that is categorized as both, but often it falls into the category of an addiction. According to the American Society of Addiction Medicine, Addiction is characterized by the inability to consistently Abstain, Impairment in Behavioral control; Craving; or increased hunger for drugs or rewarding experiences, diminished recognition of significant problems with one s behaviors and interpersonal relationships; and a dysfunctional emotional response. On the contrary the definition of a disease, according to Oxford Dictionary, is a disorder of structure or function in a human, animal, or plant, especially one that produces specific symptoms or that affects a specific location and is not simply a direct result of physical injury. Both definitions can greatly relate to what alcoholism is and as to why it is so closely related to both. Many believe that alcoholism is a disease. • 10. Evaluation Of A Psychiatric Placement Without Legal... In relatively recent American history one could be civilly committed to a psychiatric placement without legal intervention. Prior to the 1970s persons with mental illness were often subject to gross negligence when they were committed to a psychiatric placement. Furthermore, individuals who were committed to these institutions lost their civil rights. Before the 1950s persons in the United States of America could be held without legal jurisdiction in psychiatric asylums. The 1950s had some changes to these laws. However, the practices at these institutions were often abusive. Overcrowding, lack of funding, and theory all contributed to the inhumane treatment of the mentally ill. However, since the 1970s those persons who require a civil commitment have not only gained additional rights, but they have also been given the ability to challenge their committal. Further, those who have been institutionalized are offered treatment. Finally, the emphasis in the United States has been on deinstitutionalization which requires that a commitment occurs at the least restrictive level of care. In the United States of America, the changes to the mental health system have provided persons with mental illness not only a chance at restoration but also dignity. The primary legal justification for civilly committing a person to a psychiatric institution in the United States of America is for their safety of the safety of society. • 12. What Is The Decision To Increase The Federal Funds Rate Article Analysis Just a few days ago, the Federal Reserve increased the federal funds rate from 1.25% to 1.5%. The federal funds rate is one method that the Federal Reserve uses to control monetary policy. The other methods used by the Fed to control monetary policy are open market operations, and the discount window. The federal funds rate is defined as the interest rate that banks charge each other to lend reserve funds. The federal funds rate is usually than the discount rate so that banks are more inclined to go to other banks first, rather than the Fed. During the recession in 2008, the federal funds rate was near 0 in the hopes that banks would lend more, and the economy would be kickstarted. However, as the effects of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another Mankiw principle that this touches upon is that society faces a short run tradeoff between inflation and unemployment. Policymakers can intervene with this tradeoff, by using several different tools and this is one example of that. The unemployment rate is currently at a 17 year low, but the inflation rate is similarly low. By increasing the federal funds rate, the unemployment rate will continue to remain low, while an increase in inflation can be expected. Finally, the last Mankiw principle that the article relates to is that people respond to incentives. Because of the increased federal funds rate, people may be willing to save more in the hopes that interest rates will increase, and they will be paid more. At a lower federal funds rate, people may be willing to spend more, because interest rates will not pay them as much. A concept which we learned in class that this relates to is monetary policy. While fiscal policy is developed by Congress to change the U.S. economy, monetary policy is used exclusively by the Federal Reserve. It involves either increasing the money supply by buying treasury bonds, or lowering the reserve requirement and discount rate. When the money supply needs to be decreased, the Fed does the opposite of those actions. Another concept that this relates to is the federal funds market, which is the market that allows banks that fall short of the reserve requirement to borrow reserves ... Goebbels had complete jurisdiction over the content of German newspapers, magazines, books, music, films, stage plays, radio programs and fine arts. The purpose of propaganda was to condition and convince people, and get them to believe in the values and ideas of the Nazis. Propaganda is well known for war posters. It is a mode of communication aimed at influencing the attitude of a community toward some cause or position. Propaganda was used by the Nazi party in the years leading up to and during Adolf Hitler s leadership of Germany. Propaganda was a crucial instrument for acquiring and maintaining power. The Nazis used propaganda to increase their support and appeal. They spent huge sums of money on newspapers, leaflets and poster campaigns with simple slogans encouraging people to support the party. • 17. Thesis Statement On Civic Spaces Hrushita Davey PA101614 Masters in Architecture Thesis Proposal December 2015 Guided by: Professor Jigna Desai Abstract My point of departure for this thesis is that in many of our post industrial cities, the civic realm has increasingly shrunk and the private realm has continuously expanded and civic spaces are arguably more important today than ever. Most people are found using the unplanned public spaces rather than the planned public spaces. The issue is approached by focusing on a middle ground between urban planning and design of individual buildings. The intent is to design an insertion that responds to specific features of the existing urban structure and the regulatory framework currently in place. Here the juxtaposition of the old and new becomes the visible passage of time. The re appropriation of old forms includes what maybe called the neo vernacular as one mode of intellectual justification for architecture in our times. This proposition is an attempt to demonstrate a continuous interface between public and private spaces and between access networks and inhabitable spaces. What is Segregation In 1896 the United States Supreme Court ruled that it was constitutionally legal to segregate African Americans with their white counterparts. In the court case of Plessy v. Ferguson an African American man in Louisiana named Homer Plessy refused to follow the mandated Jim Crow laws which enforced that African Americans have to sit in a designated area when riding on a train. Plessy argued that his fourteenth amendment right was violated equal protection clause, which prohibits the states from denying equal protection of the laws to any person within their jurisdictions (Duignan, 2016). However, when Plessy s case moved to the Supreme Court they ruled the object of the Fourteenth Amendment was to create absolute equality of the two races before the law, such equality extended only so far as political and civil rights (e.g., voting and serving on juries), not social rights (e.g., sitting in a railway car one chooses) (McBride, n.d. ). While it may be a rational and more peaceful decision to remain under Great Britain s control, the oppression of the American colonies individualism is one that goes against common sense and is a situation that calls for a passionate revolution. The emphasis on individualism and passionate expression of the self during the late 18th and early 19th century is also exemplified in the musical realm through the revolutionary work of one of the most highly influential musicians, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. At the time of Mozart s birth, the most popular and conventional music was created in the style of the Renaissance and Baroque periods. After the discovery of Mozart s prodigal musical genius and honing his skill through several positions of employment, Mozart began to realize his individualism as a gifted artist. Gargoyles that sat near the great bells provided amplification of sound when they went off, an important function that told citizens when to awake or pray . Viollet le Duc was appalled at the actions of the rebels that recklessly tore down the old gargoyles and replaced them with lead pipes, which proved ineffective and caused significant water damage to the cathedral. Gargoyles served a very important purpose of steering water out of the cathedral along with being artistically sound. While researching, Viollet le Duc realized how useful it is to multiply gargoyles in masses so that the drainage system would be perfected. Limestone was a material that could be cut into long, thin shapes and would further accentuate decorative qualities of the gargoyles, along with helping to anchor the building and provide extra support . Viollet le Duc insisted on proving the gargoyles functionality to a point of absurdity. He created gargoyles that held pots to further steer water away. He also formulated canopies for the gargoyles, during a time where canopies were reserved for saints and holy purposes. Viollet le Duc either found his gargoyles to be sacred, or he was further making fun of religion and its symbolism and his distaste for it . Although the more complete knowledge of God unveiled in revelation cannot be strictly proven through the use of reason, this knowledge is consistent with that which we have come to know through reason. Therefore, it is entirely reasonable to hold the Catholic narrative of God as truth. Modern society, however, insists that only what is proven through science is worth believing. This attitude stems from the belief that the scientific method employed in science is the only clear cut method for determining truth. This is why renowned physicist Stephen Hawking s scientific explanation for the complexity and origin of the universe is well respected by many. Hawking s Scientific Determinism supposes that we are in fact biological machines whose decisions are determined by the chemical reactions that occur within the body, thus eliminating the concept of free will. Furthermore, Scientific Determinism effectively removes God from the picture by insisting that scientific laws cannot be laws if [they] only hold when some supernatural being decides not to intervene. Hawking s theory is supposed to be trustworthy because it relies on the scientific method of determining causes and their effects. Bob Clark s 1983 A Christmas Story is an adaptation of a mixture of Shepherd s short stories including Red Ryder Nails the Hammond Kid and a skit he heard on a radio talk show in 1968. In the story, Ralph Parker is looking back on his childhood after a woman expresses her opinion on disarming the toy industry. However, the movie opens inside Ralph s childhood with an adult Ralph as the narrator. This change does not take away from the story, though. It allows the audience to be put right into the action of the story rather than making the audience wait for something to happen that causes the narrator to look back on their life. Secondly, Clark adds to the relationships within Ralph s family. In the story, the reader does not read much about the people in the family. Human Embryonic Stem Cells The human embryonic stem cells (hESCs) have defined by Bryant and Schwartz (2008) is in the mammalian embryo, there are several cell divisions that take place after the fertilization of the sperm and the egg in the uterus. There is no growth in the total volume of the cell, so the cells that are known as blastomeres get progressively smaller. Then, they are rearranging into a hollow ball known as blastocyst and surround the blastocoel which is a fluid filled cavity. The blastocyts and then segregate into an outer layer called tropoblast and an inner cell mass (ICM). The tropoblast will form the placenta to the fetus while the inner cell mass that contains human embryonic stem cell will form the tissues of the fetus. According to Sandel and Phil (2004), the hESCs can cure and provide treatment for many kinds of disease such as Parkinson, Alzheimer, diabetes and spinal cord injury. But, ethical issues of hESCs research, therefore, overlap with those of the embryo research. It is by nature and as per Plato, it is very important that the most gifted youths be given a very good training from their early age otherwise they will turn to bad ones if given bad training. This is why it is imperative that philosopher kings rule the state. They will provide proper, better training for the philosophers to become than those leaders who rule by opinions and beliefs. This is probably what happens to Hitler. He became a monster because he did not receive a proper training. The way he went from street to power shows he was no ordinary person. He would probably have been a better leader if he received a proper education. There are a lot to say but since limited by the length of the essay, I would now prefer to answer my previous ... • 37. The Female And Female Imagery Of The Apocalypse Of John This week s reading is excerpts from A Feminist Companion to The Apocalypse of John which examine the male and female imagery of the Book of Revelation in various ways. Each contributor explained the gendered symbolism in one of four ways: Christian purity, recast of Greco Roman goddess mythology, character rhetography of wealth, and male deity dominance. While the studies found in previous weeks were fine pointed in their scholastic dissection, more or less, the studies this week pull out details to find broader pictures and showcase the plurality offered during the interpretation of the Book of Revelation. Stenstrum viewed the male female symbols of Revelation as a parallel to John of Patmos view of the ideal Christian. The divided world in which its author resided, led Revelation to further the dichotomy by drawing a line in the sand between pure and impure Christians. This is best illustrated by the contrast between the classical images of the woman bathed by the sun and the Great Whore of Babylon. The purity language is used in both the male and female symbols, symbols which are further glorified by the negative use of such sexual imagery as the previous example. Men to be used for God s Holy War, such as the 144,000 in verse 14.4, are also expected to maintain purity and remain virgins. The use of male female symbolism did not remain in the sexual realm. In other words, some of the dualism between the genders had nothing to do with sex and bodies . For instance, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

What creature was it, that masked an ordinary woman s face and shape, uttered the voice, now of a mocking demon, and anon of a carrion seeking bird of prey? (Brontë 221). A brief synopsis of Charlotte Brontë s novel, Jane Eyre, is present in this short quote, which describes the mystery that is present within the novel. As well as its gothic sensation, romance is present as well, giving the novel its feminine characteristics. Foreshadowing is a main aspect which helps prolong the suspense in the novel. The element of foreshadowing helps the reader foresee the upcoming events in the novel. These gothic elements create a mysterious plot within the novel, which escalates during the climax. Novels in the Gothic Romance genre include many mysterious events, as well as a twisted love story. Jane Eyre is classified as a Gothic Romance due to its gloomy setting, elements of mystery and suspense, and supernatural components. In like manner, Jane Eyre contained a gloomy setting that follows throughout the novel. The first main indication of Jane Eyre being a Gothic Romance was when Jane was living at Gateshead Hall. When Jane was sent to the red room, imagery was presented which links the room to the idea of death. . . .. it was in this chamber he breathed his last; . . . and, since that day, a sense of dreary consecration had guarded it from frequent intrusion (Brontë 8). Mr. K please describe your thoughts about for your future plans? The question that I selected was open ended. My question is opened ended because I am asking my client to explore something.
