ii. Reflection on ACCA workshop
My first impressions on the ACCA work shop, were that they were there to, try to recruit students into
the ACCA program over organisations such as the ICAEW, however true this maybe, the ACCA
workshop was actually a very helpful experience.
The learning outcomes from the work shop to maximise our strengths aiding us on our route to long
term success. With this in mind we were shown about a tool called Johari s window, this tool is
supposed to improve self awareness in regards to our strengths and weaknesses. We were told to
separate into pairs as our strengths and weaknesses may not always be apparent to us. I thought this to
be a great idea however for myself, nobody in the room knew me well enough, so I decided to take
this concept home to ask people who knew me well to get a better understanding of my strengths and
weaknesses. Before I thought I was very self aware of my strengths and weaknesses. However there
was a lot I learned about myself from my inquisition.
My strengths, I am genuinely quite aware of, however I didn t realise how apparent it was to my
friends how forward thinking I was, mainly strategically and how personable I am, with being open,

The Chenogne Massacre
The Battle of the Bulge started with a surprise on December 16th when the German Army launched
one of the largest Artillery bombardments the world has ever seen. Part of the Germans plan was to
infiltrate the United States forces with Germans Soldiers with near perfect English in order to disrupt
and cause confusions during the initial attacks. The German Soldiers were unable to maintain their
disguise and were later executed. The initial surprise attack seemed at first like forward progress,
however the United States 2nd and 99th Divisions maintain a strong hold at Elsenberg and Mamedy.
Unfortunately for the American Soldiers December 16th also brought on another surprise, bad weather
set in at the Ardennes region, limiting any air support ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Chenogne Massacre was a retaliation for the Malmedy Massacre, where over sixty German
prisoners near the Belgian Village of Chenogne were shot. The events on January 1st 1945 during the
Chenogne Massacre were covered up throughout time, and the perpetrators were punished. As far as
today, historians believe that the reason for this massacre was because of senior commanders giving
verbal orders to kill all prisoners. John Fague of B Company, 21st Infantry Battalion, an eyewitness
had stated Some of the boys had some prisoners line up. I knew they were going to shoot them, and I
hated this business. They marched the prisoners back up the hill to murder them with the rest of the
prisoners we had secured that morning.... As we were going up the hill out of town, I know some of
our boys were lining up German prisoners in the fields on both sides of the road. There must have
been 25 or 30 German boys in each group. Machine guns were being set up. These boys were to be
machine gunned and murdered. We were committing the same crimes we were now accusing the Japs
and Germans of doing.... Going back down the road into town I looked into the fields where the
German boys had been shot. Dark lifeless forms lay in the snow. As we can imagine, with the bonds
molded between brothers, tempers were easily flared amongst the

Race Representation In American Cinema
be done has seemingly been done before (*cough* Sharknado). After watching Get Out and eagerly
convincing everyone I knew to go see it (including you!), I found that my requests were met with
concern as many said oh, I do not like scary movies. It is unfortunate that so many would forgo seeing
the movie in light of someone s preconceived idea of what a horror movie is. The entire genre is
compartmentalized into a one size fits all description and what arises out of this generalization is an
entire group of people who miss out on seeing a good film and instead see some sequel, prequel,
reboot, spinoff, remake of a franchise film that only feeds into big studio cinema. At this point I would

The term became popular when it was adopted by the Black Lives Matter movement and is a lyrics in
the chorus of Childish Gambino/Donald Glover s song Redbone that appears at the start of the film.
There is an evident in the connections that black filmmaker s make by using music made by black
musicians (Taylor). The score is a formative and fundamental reference for black art (ibid). In Get
Out, Jordan Peele wanted to have a noticeable presence of Afro music that would be more than an
assemblage of music backing a motion picture. The main theme music in the film is a Swahili song
entitled Sikiliza Kwa Wahenga (Something Bad Is Coming Run in English) that represents black lives
lost to slavery and other wrongdoings. The song plays in the developmental scenes where audiences
are not yet aware of the dangers Chris is in. Some of the lyrics translate to save yourself and listen to
your ancestors. Michael Abels is the orchestral and choral composer for the film and was instrumental
in creating a soundtrack that has black roots but also presents a lack of optimism that is needed in a
horror movie. It was his first every film score and proved to be a difficult feat, as a lot of African
American music typically sounds hopeful and upbeat. In order to achieve this

Kids Of Helicopter Parents Are Sputtering Out
Dear Ms. Lythcott Haims, While I was reading your article, Kids of Helicopter Parents Are Sputtering
Out I was given a glimpse of how stressful it must be for students who have helicopter parents. Being
what you would call a free ranger myself, I had no problems with parental interference when it came
to my studies. In this letter to you I will strive to point out the strongest and weakest parts of your
article. You are able to use pathos, ethos and logos in several different ways to get your point across.
From what I could tell, the purpose of your article Kids of Helicopter Parents Are Sputtering Out was
to inform parents of the dangers helicopter parenting has on college student s mental health as well as
how it affects them in the long run. To summarize, College students who have helicopter parents lack
life skills which include effective decision making and problem solving. These students lack the
ability to interact properly with others also they lack emotional and intellectual freedom along with
executive functions. Additionally, they are unable to cope with any negative feelings and new
experiences and haven t been able to build resilience in these areas. Without these abilities they aren t
able to be a self sufficient adult or make any decision without involving their parent. The reference
material you use indicates helicopter parenting causes depression and anxiety and makes them unable
to have confidence in their own abilities which can also make them have

Although there are advantages and disadvantages to both a representative government and deliberative
democracy the benefits are largely dependant on the context of policy making and whose interests are
being considered. A representative democracy is one that is currently in place across Australia and, for
the most part, the rest of the world whereby a group of representatives deliberate without unequal
distributions to power on behalf of the nations citizens by denoting their beliefs, attitudes and
perspectives. Recent and ongoing concerns regarding the self interested, bureaucratic nature of
government has lead to increased interest in a more classical deliberative form of democracy
particularly at the idea of public participation ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The argument being that representative democracy allows for politically educated and aware elected
representatives, who have the resources and expertise, to make informed decisions. This views the
decision to allow the general public who may lack political awareness or inclination to make rational,
well considered judgments, incredibly detrimental as average citizens may not consider long term
solutions or may marginalise individuals and minorities. Begging other questions in regards to
whether elected officials should utilise their skill and knowledge to lead the public through more
informed decision that may be better for the greater good of the community by acting independently
or operate merely as relay mechanisms for the views of their constituents (Australian Politics 2010).
Some advocates of representative democracy acknowledge its limitations, but argue that deliberative
democracy is simple unfeasible in modern conditions. A direct government with high levels of
participation may be possible amongst relatively small communities, because personal communication
can take place between and amongst its citizens, however it is impractical and ineefgctive when it
comes to larger nations or states. The idea of consulting the general public on all issues, sanctioning
wide ranging discussion and debate, and holding mass meetings conducted in modern

The Characteristics Of Professional Basketball Athletes In...
When people think of professional basketball players, the first word that usually comes to mind is tall .
However, that is not always the case. There are many players that are under 6 3 and while that may
sound tall to us, it is short in the world of basketball. Surprisingly, some of the shorter players are
known to be better on the court. And they re not just known for their height... many are known for the
name brands they represent. Nike, Under Armour, Adidas, and Jordan, are just a few of the brands that
are promoted by these players. All great basketball players, NBA or not, are tall. Both current and past
players all have a common trait of being tall. Lebron James 6 8, Kevin Durant 6 10, Jimmy Butler 6 6.
All of these players have height, and the skills that come with it. Being tall in the NBA doesn t
guarantee you are the best players, but it does give you a significant advantage. Lebron and Kevin
both have championship rings and a numerous about of MVP s (Most Valuable Player). These awards
show what having height and the skills that come with it, can give a huge disadvantage to the rest of
the smaller guards and forwards in the NBA. Both Kevin and Lebron developed the skills of being big

Racial Profiling Research
Racial profiling has come to represent one of the latest challenges toward law enforcement agencies in
the United States. In America, unfortunately, racial profiling occurs. For instance, NYPD officers
stopped about 87 percent of the public that were either black or Latino (Geller, 2014). In addition,
approximately the same percentage was not guilty of a crime. In the study by the American Journal of
Public Health, young men who encounter numerous police contact or aggressive stops by the police
reported that they had more trauma and anxiety symptoms than among young men who had less of
these encounters with the police (Geller, 2014). This means that less aggressive invasive tactics are

Analysis Of The Crucible
Themes
A theme in The Crucible is that a society ruled by theocracy and status based on religion is bound to
fall apart. Salem s strict adherence to the Christian shurch is evident in everything the citizens do.
They use measures of a person s knowledge and adherence to the religion as a means of judging their
character and also their status in society. They believe God [was] provoked so grandly by such a petty
cause (121), which is why the jails are packed (121). If the citizen did anything to make God angry,
they were punished. This is why the judges were so relentless and naïve in putting the accused women
to trial and convicting them. They believed the law, based upon the Bible, and the Bible, writ by the

Plot Summary
The Crucible is a historical play by Arthur Miller, and is set in the town of Salem during the late
1690s. The main characters are John Proctor, the protagonist, and Abigail Williams, the antagonist.
The conflict occurs when Abigail falsely accuses others of witchcraft. This leads to hysteria in the
town, with people turning in innocent people for witchcraft. Many people including John and
Elizabeth Proctor are arrested and put on trial, despite their innocence. John Proctor is sentenced to
death after refusing to denounce his friends as witches, forgiven by Elizabeth for his affair with
Abigail, and restores his reputation of being a good man. The Crucible delves into the extent people
will go betray others in order to benefit themselves

Critical Thinking Examples
The word thinking , defined by Merriam Webster, is the act of utilizing one s intellect to produce their
reflection upon the given topic. In my opinion, thinking is a deliberate response to the person s
question. Even though our logic has many variations, the outcome would have an abundance of
answers. Knowing that our mind develops vast amount of interpretation, we have a different mindset
with our response whether it is Natural or Critical Thinking. Natural Thinking is identified a mental
process without having any reason or logic to what you are going to say. For instance, Natural

my everyday activities because it s key to not jump straight to the answer, but to question myself if I

because I want a shoe that will be durable and I m very meticulous about the material. By doing so, I
have a basketball shoe that will last at least a year compared to buying a new shoe after wearing the
other shoe ten times due to sole separation. It is appropriate to use Critical Thinking when I m around

Because I Could Not Stop For Death By Emily Dickinson
Because I Could Not Stop for Death by Emily Dickinson is a lyrical poem that contains six stanzas
with each having four lines. This poem is about an individual that did not wait for Death, thus Death
waited for her. Death, with Immortality as a chaperone, picks up the speaker and leads her through a
journey of life. They slowly drive by schools, fields, and the setting sun, reminiscing the activities and
trials of life. At the end, they stop at a grave. Here, the speaker realizes that centuries have passed
since her death, yet it Feels shorter than [a] Day (Dickinson 21 22). Through various literary devices,
such as tone, personification, imagery, and metaphor, the author depicts the uncertainty, the
inevitability, and ultimately the acceptance with death. Dickinson s Because I Could Not Stop for
Death tells a story of Death taking a woman on a journey through life, evoking a pleasant tone. In the
beginning, the speaker is hesitant to follow Death, but after seeing Death s kindness she decides to get
in the carriage. She is even delighted saying she put away/ [her] labor and [her] leisure for Death
(Dickinson 6 7). The speaker is so pleased to go with Death that she even forgets to put on appropriate
clothes for the weather, for she was only wearing ... [a] Gossamer, ... gown/ ... Tippet ... [and] Tulle on
the rainy day (Dickinson 15 16). As the poem closes, there is a slight change in the tone. The speaker

For the object to be understood, producers must encode messages that reflect reality. Hall says that
television is...constituted by the combination of two types of discourse, visual and aural...[and] it

images and sounds exist within reality: the linguistic sign, cow possesses none of the properties of the
thing represented, whereas the visual sign appears to possess some of those properties. When one says
Cow, it does not necessarily mean it is a cow. The word cow does not possess any of the properties of
a real cow. However, the image of cow must possess some of the properties of a real cow to be the
image of a cow. If one were to present an image of a dog, it would not be a cow. If one heard audio of
a dog barking, this also would not be a cow; however, if they heard audio of a cow mooing, then this
would be a cow. Therefore, the images and sounds that constitute television reflect reality. The
producer then encodes messages into these images and sounds, which are then decoded by the

Explore Shakespeare s Presentation of the Three Great...
During the scenes depicting the Battle of Actium, Shakespeare s presentation of Octavius Caesar,
Mark Antony and Cleopatra cause the balance of audience sympathy to change between the three great
leaders. Audience sympathy never lies by any real amount with Caesar, and in Acts III and IV, the
audience feels increasingly alienated from him. This is largely due to his calculated, ruthless style of
leadership, which becomes more evident during the battle. Caesar judges wisely, and is successful
because of this, and by Act III, Scene 7 he has already defeated Toryne – previously one of Antony s
territories. In Act III, Scene 12, Shakespeare presents Caesar as a callous and cruel leader, as he hears
the requests of Antony for peace and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also, though unwisely, Antony suggests a feast for their comfort , and this summarises his leadership,
as he is no longer presented by Shakespeare as a great and powerful leader, but as a kind and generous
man. Caesar appears to be a heartless leader, detached from the people, whereas Antony shows his
emotions and, thus, appears more human, which causes the audience to sympathise with him. In Act
IV, Scenes 5 and 8, Shakespeare presents Antony as a great leader once again, as he defeats Caesar s
land army, winning an unexpected victory and causing the audience to venerate him once more,
instead of feeling pity for his predicament. However, this triumph is short lived, and in Act IV, Scene
12, Antony s navy surrenders to Caesar without a fight, deserting Antony, leaving him feeling
betrayed, and, once again, the audience sympathy shifts even further towards Antony. Cleopatra
develops as a character during this sequence, becoming more sensible and less melodramatic in
response to trivial problems. In Act III, Scene 7, Enobarbus tells Cleopatra not to be involved in the
battle itself, saying that: If we

Congenital Heart Defects Paper
Introduction
Congenital heart defects (CHD) are birth defects that are considered the common in the United States.
These defects affect a newborn child s blood flow to and from the heart and sometimes can leave the
heart lacking parts that make it necessary for the heart to do its job. According to the Centers for
Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) (2014), 1 in 4 children born with a CHD is considered critical
and will result in that child needing heart surgery or other similar procedures within the first years of
its life. These CHD s can range from Atrial Septal Defects, Coarctation of the aorta, Ebstien anomaly,
Pulmanary artesia, Tetralogy of Fallot, Trancus Arteriosus, Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome, as well
as many others (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2014). The specific CHD that will be

My Singing Journey
A friend from my childhood once told me dream on, and sing louder . This friend pushed this saying
deep into my heart until it made it seem as if it kept my heart beating. I never really began to
understand what she meant when she repeated this saying to me until she explained it. She said to me
that to dream on is to not give up, and to sing louder is to not let anyone take my voice away from me.
Singing has always been a huge part in my life from singing in talent shows to singing in the shower.
My mother said that I never stopped singing. The journey of my singing began with my first School of
Rock program and is now being pursued on my churches worship team today. Before I start to tell you
about my singing journey, I feel as if I should explain why I started to sing in the first place. It all
began when I was four years old, my older sister Kassidy would always, and I mean always, be
listening to music in her room and singing. As we grew up she learned how to play the guitar and how
to write songs. She inspired me to sing and I couldn t thank her enough for it. When my sister was 12
years old she started to get involved in this program named School of Rock. When she would sing on
that stage I constantly wished that I was her. I could not wait until I was in the 7th grade so that I
could be a part of it as well.

The War Of The American Civil War Essay
The American Civil War lasted from April 12, 1861 to May 9, 1865. It was the bloodiest war in
American history, killing approximately 620,000 soldiers in total. The War was fought and won by the
North, ensuring that all the United States would stay united and slavery would be illegal in The United
States. However, history is one of the most complicated things in the world. It s also one of the most
important things in the world because history is what made the present possible. Historians have
debated the cause of The American Civil War for over a hundred and fifty years. This is a very
complicated question as history can be a matter of opinion sometimes. When looking at history, one of
the most important tools you can have is written words from past men and women of the time. It is

Rapper Q Tip From Hip Hop
Rapper Q Tip from hip hop group, A Tribe Called Quest famously conveyed in Excursions , a track
from the 1993 album The Low End Theory, that music is cyclical, and jazz is the foundation for the
new abstract in hip hop just as hip hop will be the new ground for whatever music the black
community creates next. Even before the advent of the hip hop genre, Jazz musicians participated in
riff borrowing and sharing on standards. Simon and Garfunkel reused recordings of earlier songs in
tracks they produced later. These uses can easily be considered an early form of sampling, a practice
that utilizes pieces of a musical recording in another musical work as an instrument. As hip hop grew
in popularity, moving from the early reggae grooves over which emcee s rapped to sampled songs,
controversy over creative ownership also flourished in the music community.
It wasn t until the landmark 1991 Biz Markie copyright infringement case over his use of a Gilbert O
Sullivan sample on I Need a Haircut that the courts determined sampling constituted willful
infringement. Record companies, realizing the cost of an infringement case, pushed artists to declare
the use of samples in their works. However, with fear of incurring additional costs, companies and
artists also embraced the possibility of being sampled as they often earned royalties for their
contributions. Some publishing companies, namely Bridgeport Music, Inc. and TufAmerica Inc., took

Biography of Andy Whorl
Andy Whorl Andy Whorl was a popular American print artist in the 1960. He helped create the style
of art known as Pop Art. Pop Art showed what was popular in American culture; products, celebrities,
etc. Andy Whorl s career started out as a commercial artist. Some of his fellow artists admired him and
his work, while other did not consider him a true artist. He displayed some of his work in museums
and became famous. A friend of Andy told him to make art based on everyday things, so Andy made
his famous picture of the multiple Campbell s soup cans. Whorl used mass production to make some
of his artwork like the Ten Lizes featuring Elizabeth Taylor. His mass production method involved silk

Cool Hand Luke Hierarchy
Society is built up of a group of individuals who are organized into a community based off of similar
beliefs and values regardless if that is religiously, culturally or other purpose based. In every society
there are rules and regulations established, norms created and punishments carried out for members
participating in deviant activities. In the movie Cool Hand Luke directed by Stuart Rosenberg, Lucas
Jackson the main character is painted as a non conformist after destroying parking meters while under
the influence and thus is sentenced two years in prison. In the new environment Luke soon learns that
this correctional prison consists of numerous rules that must be abided by and if not, must be faced
with harsh punishment. However, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although prior to his arrest Luke was still unimpressionable and non conforming to society, his
actions did not influence others significantly until he entered prison. During his time in prison Luke
demonstrates his lack of acceptance to the system by continuously talking back to his superiors and
escaping the prison multiple times. Escaping the prison camp once more, this time with Dragline,
Luke is betrayed by his friend and is found in a church by the cops. Dragline explains that in order to
avoid getting shot all [Luke has] got to do is give up nice and quiet (Carroll Rosenberg, 1967). Luke
instead looks out the church window and mocks the Captain by saying what we ve got here is a failure
to communicate (Carroll Rosenberg, 1967). Although through this last act of rebellion Luke is shot
and killed, his statement to the Captain exemplifies Luke s message that he will not conform to the
system regardless if he is punished, brutally hurt or killed. Although Luke could have given up
peacefully, he chose to go against the normative and die. By surrendering, he would lose his own
identity and be forced to succumb to the social behaviour and regulations associated with the prison
environment and so with this last act of rebellion Lucas Jackson proves that with non conformity he

Ender s Game Comparison Essay
This is a comparative review of the book and the movie ender s game. In this review I will compare
the book ender s game written by Orson Scott Card to the movie ender s game directed by gavin hood.
Imagine that an alien species called the buggers or (formic) has attacked earth twice in the last 50
years and almost wiped out the human species. The world government needs to prepare a general to be
ready for the next invasion. Ender s game is about a boy named ender who goes to a space station
military school and learns how to be a commander. He becomes the best commander in his school and
moves to this asteroid called eros. There he plays a simulation where he learns how to kill the buggers
(or formics) and eventually destroys the whole planet. The teachers tell him that the simulations were
real and he had killed the whole planet and wiped them out completely. He feels guilty and flies to the
planet and to colonize it with his sister and others. He finds a bugger (or formic) cocoon. There he
then goes to the end of the galaxy trying to find a planet for the buggers (or formic) to live again. ...

The movie changes the alien s name from buggers to formics. The movie also takes out the scene
where ender breaks a kids arm and replaces it with a kid throwing up. In the book ender s brother and
sister create online profiles with fake names and write political articles which build up a lot of online
support but in the movie there is no mention of it. In the book it demonstrates how ender went from 6
two 21 throughout the book but in the movie it starts when he was around 10 and has a period of
around 6 months. In the book it shows how isolated ender was but in the movie he makes friends
really quickly. In the book gavin hood decides to remove the scene where ender goes to the alien
planet to make a new home for humans. Gavin hood replaces this by leaving the audience on a cliff

Analysis Of Friedrich Nietzsche s Thus Spoke Zarathustra
In the late 19th century, philosopher and psychologist, Friedrich Nietzsche, published a four part
chronicle, Thus Spoke Zarathustra, to express his perspective on how human beings can work towards
and achieve a lifestyle of joy and innocence. Nietzsche, who was an anti christ due to its slavish
mentality and ways, believed that everyone has an overman and ubermensch aspect to their lives,
where they can be free spirited and the ultimate dictator of their morals and values. For one to live a
life of free of predestined expectations and societal pressures, they must be constantly overcoming
themselves, have the will to power over themselves, and must accept the past in order to authentically
affirm their identity. Once someone is able ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Whether it be because of, gender, race, religion, etc.., society tries to put us into precalculated and
absolute groups. Furthermore, because of society, from the second we are born, we are enslaved and
held responsible to live through someone else s ideas of what is right for you and others. Every task in
life can be seen as a burden, you re expected to be cleanly and brush your teeth, you re obligated to
wear clothes in public, you re supposed to wash your hands after you go to the bathroom. Although all
of these examples seem like the right thing to do, they are also examples of being enslaved to a certain
way of life, ruled by society. Nietzsche validates that, there is much that is difficult for the spirit, the
strong reverent spirit that would bear much: but the difficult and the most difficult are what its
strength demands. In other terms, Nietzsche acknowledges that shitty, even unfair things are going to
happen to you in life and that is hard to be a minority and create change but, it s necessary; what doesn

The Effects Of Hormones On The Body s Central Glucocorticoid
Upon activation by an emotional or physical stressor, corticotropic releasing hormone (CRH) is
released from the paraventricular cells of the hypothalamus and exerts its effect on the anterior
pituitary gland Here, CRH stimulates the synthesis of adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) and its
release into the bloodstream [19,20]. In turn, ACTH acts on receptors of the adrenal cortex to
stimulate the synthesis and release of cortisol [19,20]. Also known as the body s stress hormone ,
cortisol travels through the blood in both protein bound (inactive) and free (active) forms. Cortisol can
act to limit its own synthesis via a negative feedback mechanism to the hypothalamus and pituitary
gland [19,20]. Upon reaching a target cell, free cortisol diffuses through the cell membrane to bind to
the cytoplasmic glucocorti coid receptor [19,20]. This ligand receptor complex translocates to the
nucleus where it binds glucocorticoid response elements to affect transcription of target genes [19,20].
As our body s central glucocorticoid, cortisol has many actions. These include gluconeogenesis,
lipolysis, modulating the immune system, increase of blood pressure and insulin resistance [19,20].
Cortisol is metabolized by 11 beta hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase type 2 to its inactive form, cortisone

Heroes Every Child Should Know Perseus And The Miser
The Greek fables that were written in the past still inspire us today. Well lets just say that their are a lot
of lessons inside of these fables and myths that can inspire people today and people can learn a lot of
lessons from it. For example, in some fables the greeks teach a lesson about appreciating and
cherishing what one has before it is won t have them and when they are gone you will want to have
them back again. Some fables that support this claim is The Hen and The Golden Eggs , Heroes Every
Child Should Know Perseus and The Miser . These are some fables that can teach people to appreciate
and cherish things before they are gone and some myths that show that how to use things appropriatly
and to use things usefully.

The fable is Heroes Every Child Should Know Perseus this fable had the people cherish their things
and use them appropriately like Perseus. Perseus had to go on a quest to defeat an evil enemy named
MEDUSA she was a very ugly lady who had lots of fangs on her head and Perseus had to cut her head
off. He was nervous about it but he accepted the task so he was given lots of equipment to help him
like a sword that can cut off medusa s head and some sandals that could make him fly all the way to
Medusa. When he was fighting Medusa he remembered everything that he had and the advice he got
so that in the end he had cut off Medusa s head and had survived this very frightening mission. In this
myth Perseus used his things appripriatly and use them usefully, unlike the other fables that had
people disrespecting their things.
In conclusion the ancient greek myths and fables still inspire and teach lessons to people today by
showing us some consequences the fables and myths had. Some bad consequences were like in The
Miser and The Hen and The Golden Eggs when they lost their chance to have something good but did
not because they did not make the right choice. Some good choices that happened is in Perseus
because in that story he was thinking and used his resources wisely and in the end he had
accomplished his mission. So to wrap it up the lesson is to appreciate and cherish things

Ethical Dilemma of Hiv Disclosure in Intimate Relationships
HIV Prevention with Positives in Thailand: Ethical Dilemma of HIV Status Disclosure in intimate
relationship.
Abstract
Every year, there are about ten thousand new HIV infection cases in Thailand. The majority of new
HIV transmissions in Thailand have changed from commercial sex to intimate relationships while HIV
prevention generally focuses on self protection and universal precaution. In 2003, Center for Disease
Control and Prevention recommend to integrate HIV preventive measure into routine HIV care.
According to a survey of People Living with HIV and AIDS (PLWHA) in Thailand, 45% of HIV
infections came from transmission between spouses and 10% believed that their partners knew their
HIV status before having a relationship. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Most of these preventive measures aim at self protection of the general HIV negative population and
vulnerable groups. HIV positive people have not been included in prevention strategies and messages.
Fear of further stigmatization exclude concept of responsibility for health of sexual partner as an
alternative strategy and prevention program. (Bayer 1996) However research has shown that after
most PLWHA learn their HIV status they reduce their unprotected sex, though some still engage in
unsafe sex.(Janssen, Holtgrave, Valdiserri et al. 2001; Marks, Richardson, Crepaz et al. 2002) In 2003,
the Centers for Disease Control recommended the Prevention with Positives strategy to promote
sexual health among PLWHA attending HIV/AIDS clinic and to help reduce onward HIV
transmission.(Centers for Disease Control and Prevention 2003) Positive prevention was
recommended by UNAIDS (the Joint United Nations Program on HIV/AIDS); it has been
implemented in industrialized countries, and should be a priority in high prevalence regions.(Bunnell
R, J. and K 2006)
Advance in medical treatment, especially antiretroviral treatment have improved quality of life and
prolongs survival. Antiretroviral treatment also reduces the probability of HIV transmission by
reducing virus to undetectable level. (Vernazzaa, Hirschelb, Bernasconic et al. 2008)

my dad usually had his work place. His computer was gone, along with all of his belongings he had in

incident. Why are you leaving me..?! Please, Chris! My mom yelled from the office, while I sat on the
couch watching TV. The rest of the conversation was inaudible for me to hear, until I heard a loud
scream and something being cracked. No! It was my mom s voice, I ran into the office and saw a gun
on the floor, part of the wood chipped out as my dad stormed away. My mom was sobbing, visibly
terrified. My mom followed my dad, while Missy took me upstairs with the baby and the pets. She
locked the door behind her, and we saw my dad storming away from the garage in his car. After we
knew he had pulled away, She led me back downstairs where my mom was waiting for the police.
After around three minutes, a police officer arrived. It was after then that my mom made sure my dad

could. Mommy? I called out, walking into my parents room and seeing my mom crying on her knees.

5Thou carriest them away as with a flood; they are as a sleep: in the morning they are like grass which
groweth up.
The last segment of the Psalm is Moses appeal to God for him to return his presence to his people:
Return, O LORD, how long? And let it repent thee concerning thy servants. Not only should God
return, but Moses asks for complete restoration and for God to bless the work of man: Let thy work
appear unto thy servants, and thy glory unto their children. And let the beauty of the LORD our God
be upon us: and establish thou the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish
thou it.
A synopsis of Psalm 90 is that man God is eternal, man is finite. Therefore man should repent of his
sin, turn from his wicked way and be restored to the dwelling place of the Lord God. Also, because
man s days are numbered, he should seek to be the most productive during his youth as to reflect the
glory of God. There is safety and peace in God s design. good This theme of vocation and purpose is a
constant theme in the both the Hebrew and Christian scriptures.
The Vocation of the Christian Entrepreneur
The significance of Psalm 90 frames the meaning of vocation for the Christian entrepreneur. For the
Christian entrepreneur, vocation , meaning vocare in Latin, indicates that there is a relationship
between the one is calling and the one being called.12 This

My Pre Conference With Mrs. Andruska
The purpose of my pre conference with Mrs. Andruska was to establish a rapport with her, to learn
about her teaching style, procedures, and upcoming lesson, and to collaboratively set a goal for the
lesson I would be observing.
When asking my first questions to Mrs. Andruska in our pre conference, it became clear that she
prides herself on providing highly effective instruction for all of her students. I asked her about the
areas of her instruction that she takes pride in, and where she believes her biggest strengths are. She
explained that she prides herself on incorporating a variety of music education methodologies into her
teaching. These methodologies include Orff, Kodaly, and Dalcroz, all of which Mrs. Andruska has
studied and obtained certifications in. Her attention to detail in her lesson design, preparation, and
organization was evident when discussing the lesson I would be observing.
I asked Mrs. Andruska the following questions in an attempt to learn more about any instructional
challenges she is facing in her classroom:
How have things been going in your classroom?
Can you tell me about some areas that you are finding success?
My goal is to offer you guidance that will help your teaching to improve. Are there any areas you feel
we should focus on?
4. How will you know if all students are understanding the lesson?

Loss Of Humanity In The Vampire Diaries
In what s become a most unwelcomed trend of season seven, The Vampire Diaries sidelines its far
more interesting material, yet again, to focus on a boring old game of cat and mouse. Which is
something this show typically does well, even if it s only because they do it so often. Almost
immediately in this case however, the stakes are lowered when we discover from Fake Stefan that his
soul could easily hop into the body of a transitioning vampire, leaving Stefan s body safe. So while it s
not ideal, what with having to sacrifice a human life and all if it really came down to the wire Stefan
could jump out of Marty s dying body and live to fight another few days.
That would also give us more time to spend with Fake Stefan. Who has somehow been the most
enjoyable antagonist of the entire season. Yes, as predicted he s basically Real Stefan with his
humanity switch off, but the portrayal is different enough where you can look at him and truly believe

Free Trade Is A Policy
Free trade is a policy followed by some international markets in which countries governments do not
restrict imports from, or exports to, other countries. Free trade is exemplified by the European
Economic Area and the North American Free Trade Agreement, which have established open markets.
Free trade is an economic policy under which the government does not interfere with trade. No tariffs
are applied to imports or exports, and people are allowed to trade goods and services as they please.
Supply and demand dictates the prices for which goods and services sell and are the only factors that
determine how resources are allocated in society. Under a free trade system, there are no trade
barriers. There is free access to markets and market information, and there are no government imposed
monopolies. Those who support free trade believe that it allows companies to come by raw materials
and lower prices, which, in turn, results in lower prices on the open market. Supporters also believe
that the levels of employment in a nation are determined by the monetary policy of that nation and not
the trade policy. Thus, the free trade economy of the U.S. is not to blame for the increasing levels of
unemployment. Many jobs are leaving the nation, but supporters of the free trade debate argue that if
companies could not outsource their labor to other nations, they could just automate these processes
anyway. Additionally, when people work for a profit and must compete, they produce

Benefits and Problems Associated With Urbanisation
What are the Benefits and Problems Associated with Urbanisation? In the years following the
Industrial Revolution, the practice of urbanisation became much more prevalent. Urbanisation has
lead to an increase in the population of cities while leading to a decline in rural population. The effects
of Urbanisation can be both positive and negative, whether it is on the peoples, the society or the
environment. The practice of urbanisation has brought with it, many arguments as to whether it is a
positive or negative phenomena. Throughout the course of this discussion we will look deeper in to
what urbanisation really is. We will also analyse the arguments, and we will begin to unpack how

Urbanisation has become somewhat of a fast growing phenomenon in the last 40 years especially, but
it was not always the case. In the year 1800 only 5% of the global population was urbanized (DeVries,
1984) but following the agricultural and industrial revolutions, that number grew. In England for
example the urban population jumped from 17% in 1801 to 72% in 1891 (Watson, 1993), and
according to the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs, Population division, in
2011 52.% of people were living in urban areas worldwide (United Nations, 2012). The same
department estimate that by the year 2050 close to 70% of the worlds population will be living in
urban areas, which will equate to over 6 billion people (United Nations, 2012). The areas with the
highest urban populations currently are those in Latin America, with 76% of the population living in
urban areas in the year 2000, however South and East Asia are set to have the biggest jump in urban
population in the next 40 years (UN,2004). Today the largest and fastest growing cities are in
developing countries (Envio Facts 2001).This data shows that urbanisation is responsible for massive
growth, obviously in urban settlements. This massive growth is bound to have some effects on the
environment both negative and positive. Environmental Problems Associated with Urbanisation.

Concepts Found in Jainism Essay
Concepts found in Jainism have no real origin, but have been attributed with its closest founder
Nataputta Vardamana, later to be known by his followers as Mahavira, is credited with taking ideas
from Hinduism separating into this new religion. Jainism emphasizes the Hindu belief of: ahimsa (non
injury to life) and moksha (release from the endless cycle of birth, death, and rebirth through
asceticism (Lewis, 2009, pp. 123 124). These beliefs are incorporated into their lives and have
profound effects in the public lives of Jains. The belief system of Jainism rejected the caste system and

Generally, all Jains seek to follow the first three vows as much as possible; those who enter the
monastic order keep all five (Lewis, 2009, p. 126). When these pillars are applied it opens the door for
the release from the cycle of birth, life, and death, which is the goal of Jainism. Without keeping all
five of these pillars it is believed that this cycle cannot be broken.
Daily Routine of a Jain Monk Jain Monks start their day homeless, naked, and without owning any
possessions. The Jain sect called the Svetambara (literally, the white clad ) does not observe nudity in
their daily worship and wear white robes; the second sect, called the Digambara (literally, the sky clad
) which observe total nudity in the devotion to the religion (Lewis, 2009, pp. 126 127). Then, the
monk finds an open patch of earth without any insects, and performs a form of personal hygiene,
which consists of washing his head and feet, while taking a complete bath is not permissible. After
this, the monk returns to the monastic chamber where he studies the sacred texts of Jainism. He sits in
meditation to identify his faults such as negligence in behavior towards living creatures (Jain
Ascetism, para. 4).
Then he proceeds to the nearby temple to pay devotions to the jina (one who has conquered the
worldly passions by one s own strenuous efforts) (Sangave, 2006). After completing these devotions
he returns to shravakas (a local Jain family) where he eats. During this time there

  • 2. The Benefits Of Experiential Learning i. Using relevant literature discuss the benefits of experiential learning When I first started this module, I believed that my CV was satisfactory and that my interview ability was of a very high standard, however from my lessons I understood ii. Reflection on ACCA workshop My first impressions on the ACCA work shop, were that they were there to, try to recruit students into the ACCA program over organisations such as the ICAEW, however true this maybe, the ACCA workshop was actually a very helpful experience. The learning outcomes from the work shop to maximise our strengths aiding us on our route to long term success. With this in mind we were shown about a tool called Johari s window, this tool is supposed to improve self awareness in regards to our strengths and weaknesses. We were told to separate into pairs as our strengths and weaknesses may not always be apparent to us. I thought this to be a great idea however for myself, nobody in the room knew me well enough, so I decided to take this concept home to ask people who knew me well to get a better understanding of my strengths and weaknesses. Before I thought I was very self aware of my strengths and weaknesses. However there was a lot I learned about myself from my inquisition. My strengths, I am genuinely quite aware of, however I didn t realise how apparent it was to my friends how forward thinking I was, mainly strategically and how personable I am, with being open, relatable and understanding ... • 3. The Chenogne Massacre The Battle of the Bulge started with a surprise on December 16th when the German Army launched one of the largest Artillery bombardments the world has ever seen. Part of the Germans plan was to infiltrate the United States forces with Germans Soldiers with near perfect English in order to disrupt and cause confusions during the initial attacks. The German Soldiers were unable to maintain their disguise and were later executed. The initial surprise attack seemed at first like forward progress, however the United States 2nd and 99th Divisions maintain a strong hold at Elsenberg and Mamedy. Unfortunately for the American Soldiers December 16th also brought on another surprise, bad weather set in at the Ardennes region, limiting any air support ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Chenogne Massacre was a retaliation for the Malmedy Massacre, where over sixty German prisoners near the Belgian Village of Chenogne were shot. The events on January 1st 1945 during the Chenogne Massacre were covered up throughout time, and the perpetrators were punished. As far as today, historians believe that the reason for this massacre was because of senior commanders giving verbal orders to kill all prisoners. John Fague of B Company, 21st Infantry Battalion, an eyewitness had stated Some of the boys had some prisoners line up. I knew they were going to shoot them, and I hated this business. They marched the prisoners back up the hill to murder them with the rest of the prisoners we had secured that morning.... As we were going up the hill out of town, I know some of our boys were lining up German prisoners in the fields on both sides of the road. There must have been 25 or 30 German boys in each group. Machine guns were being set up. These boys were to be machine gunned and murdered. We were committing the same crimes we were now accusing the Japs and Germans of doing.... Going back down the road into town I looked into the fields where the German boys had been shot. Dark lifeless forms lay in the snow. As we can imagine, with the bonds molded between brothers, tempers were easily flared amongst the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Race Representation In American Cinema be done has seemingly been done before (*cough* Sharknado). After watching Get Out and eagerly convincing everyone I knew to go see it (including you!), I found that my requests were met with concern as many said oh, I do not like scary movies. It is unfortunate that so many would forgo seeing the movie in light of someone s preconceived idea of what a horror movie is. The entire genre is compartmentalized into a one size fits all description and what arises out of this generalization is an entire group of people who miss out on seeing a good film and instead see some sequel, prequel, reboot, spinoff, remake of a franchise film that only feeds into big studio cinema. At this point I would like to study race representation in American cinema ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The term became popular when it was adopted by the Black Lives Matter movement and is a lyrics in the chorus of Childish Gambino/Donald Glover s song Redbone that appears at the start of the film. There is an evident in the connections that black filmmaker s make by using music made by black musicians (Taylor). The score is a formative and fundamental reference for black art (ibid). In Get Out, Jordan Peele wanted to have a noticeable presence of Afro music that would be more than an assemblage of music backing a motion picture. The main theme music in the film is a Swahili song entitled Sikiliza Kwa Wahenga (Something Bad Is Coming Run in English) that represents black lives lost to slavery and other wrongdoings. The song plays in the developmental scenes where audiences are not yet aware of the dangers Chris is in. Some of the lyrics translate to save yourself and listen to your ancestors. Michael Abels is the orchestral and choral composer for the film and was instrumental in creating a soundtrack that has black roots but also presents a lack of optimism that is needed in a horror movie. It was his first every film score and proved to be a difficult feat, as a lot of African American music typically sounds hopeful and upbeat. In order to achieve this ... • 5. Kids Of Helicopter Parents Are Sputtering Out Dear Ms. Lythcott Haims, While I was reading your article, Kids of Helicopter Parents Are Sputtering Out I was given a glimpse of how stressful it must be for students who have helicopter parents. Being what you would call a free ranger myself, I had no problems with parental interference when it came to my studies. In this letter to you I will strive to point out the strongest and weakest parts of your article. You are able to use pathos, ethos and logos in several different ways to get your point across. From what I could tell, the purpose of your article Kids of Helicopter Parents Are Sputtering Out was to inform parents of the dangers helicopter parenting has on college student s mental health as well as how it affects them in the long run. To summarize, College students who have helicopter parents lack life skills which include effective decision making and problem solving. These students lack the ability to interact properly with others also they lack emotional and intellectual freedom along with executive functions. Additionally, they are unable to cope with any negative feelings and new experiences and haven t been able to build resilience in these areas. Without these abilities they aren t able to be a self sufficient adult or make any decision without involving their parent. The reference material you use indicates helicopter parenting causes depression and anxiety and makes them unable to have confidence in their own abilities which can also make them have ... Although there are advantages and disadvantages to both a representative government and deliberative democracy the benefits are largely dependant on the context of policy making and whose interests are being considered. A representative democracy is one that is currently in place across Australia and, for the most part, the rest of the world whereby a group of representatives deliberate without unequal distributions to power on behalf of the nations citizens by denoting their beliefs, attitudes and perspectives. Recent and ongoing concerns regarding the self interested, bureaucratic nature of government has lead to increased interest in a more classical deliberative form of democracy particularly at the idea of public participation ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The argument being that representative democracy allows for politically educated and aware elected representatives, who have the resources and expertise, to make informed decisions. This views the decision to allow the general public who may lack political awareness or inclination to make rational, well considered judgments, incredibly detrimental as average citizens may not consider long term solutions or may marginalise individuals and minorities. Begging other questions in regards to whether elected officials should utilise their skill and knowledge to lead the public through more informed decision that may be better for the greater good of the community by acting independently or operate merely as relay mechanisms for the views of their constituents (Australian Politics 2010). Some advocates of representative democracy acknowledge its limitations, but argue that deliberative democracy is simple unfeasible in modern conditions. A direct government with high levels of participation may be possible amongst relatively small communities, because personal communication can take place between and amongst its citizens, however it is impractical and ineefgctive when it comes to larger nations or states. The idea of consulting the general public on all issues, sanctioning wide ranging discussion and debate, and holding mass meetings conducted in modern ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 8. The Characteristics Of Professional Basketball Athletes In... When people think of professional basketball players, the first word that usually comes to mind is tall . However, that is not always the case. There are many players that are under 6 3 and while that may sound tall to us, it is short in the world of basketball. Surprisingly, some of the shorter players are known to be better on the court. And they re not just known for their height... many are known for the name brands they represent. Nike, Under Armour, Adidas, and Jordan, are just a few of the brands that are promoted by these players. All great basketball players, NBA or not, are tall. In America, unfortunately, racial profiling occurs. For instance, NYPD officers stopped about 87 percent of the public that were either black or Latino (Geller, 2014). In addition, approximately the same percentage was not guilty of a crime. In the study by the American Journal of Public Health, young men who encounter numerous police contact or aggressive stops by the police reported that they had more trauma and anxiety symptoms than among young men who had less of these encounters with the police (Geller, 2014). • 10. Analysis Of The Crucible Themes A theme in The Crucible is that a society ruled by theocracy and status based on religion is bound to fall apart. This poem is about an individual that did not wait for Death, thus Death waited for her. Death, with Immortality as a chaperone, picks up the speaker and leads her through a journey of life. They slowly drive by schools, fields, and the setting sun, reminiscing the activities and trials of life. At the end, they stop at a grave. Here, the speaker realizes that centuries have passed since her death, yet it Feels shorter than [a] Day (Dickinson 21 22). Even before the advent of the hip hop genre, Jazz musicians participated in riff borrowing and sharing on standards. Simon and Garfunkel reused recordings of earlier songs in tracks they produced later. These uses can easily be considered an early form of sampling, a practice that utilizes pieces of a musical recording in another musical work as an instrument. As hip hop grew in popularity, moving from the early reggae grooves over which emcee s rapped to sampled songs, controversy over creative ownership also flourished in the music community. It wasn t until the landmark 1991 Biz Markie copyright infringement case over his use of a Gilbert O Sullivan sample on I Need a Haircut that the courts determined sampling constituted willful infringement. Record companies, realizing the cost of an infringement case, pushed artists to declare the use of samples in their works. The Effects Of Hormones On The Body s Central Glucocorticoid Upon activation by an emotional or physical stressor, corticotropic releasing hormone (CRH) is released from the paraventricular cells of the hypothalamus and exerts its effect on the anterior pituitary gland Here, CRH stimulates the synthesis of adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) and its release into the bloodstream [19,20]. In turn, ACTH acts on receptors of the adrenal cortex to stimulate the synthesis and release of cortisol [19,20]. Also known as the body s stress hormone , cortisol travels through the blood in both protein bound (inactive) and free (active) forms. Cortisol can act to limit its own synthesis via a negative feedback mechanism to the hypothalamus and pituitary gland [19,20]. Upon reaching a target cell, free cortisol diffuses through the cell membrane to bind to the cytoplasmic glucocorti coid receptor [19,20]. This ligand receptor complex translocates to the nucleus where it binds glucocorticoid response elements to affect transcription of target genes [19,20]. As our body s central glucocorticoid, cortisol has many actions. These include gluconeogenesis, lipolysis, modulating the immune system, increase of blood pressure and insulin resistance [19,20]. Cortisol is metabolized by 11 beta hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase type 2 to its inactive form, cortisone [19,20 GOW Stress can be broadly defined as any stimulus that disrupts homeostasis, with the stress response referring to physiological and behavioral reactions to such a stimulus (Selye, 1950). I walked into the office, where my dad usually had his work place. His computer was gone, along with all of his belongings he had in the cramped room. On my way out of the room, I saw a familiar chip in the floor from an earlier incident. Why are you leaving me..?! Please, Chris! My mom yelled from the office, while I sat on the couch watching TV. The rest of the conversation was inaudible for me to hear, until I heard a loud scream and something being cracked. No! It was my mom s voice, I ran into the office and saw a gun on the floor, part of the wood chipped out as my dad stormed away. My mom was sobbing, visibly terrified. My mom followed my dad, while Missy took me upstairs with the baby and the pets. She locked the door behind her, and we saw my dad storming away from the garage in his car. After we knew he had pulled away, She led me back downstairs where my mom was waiting for the police. After around three minutes, a police officer arrived. It was after then that my mom made sure my dad couldn t pick me up from school anymore. I ran past the old memory, dashing up the stairs as fast as I could. Mommy? • 33. My Pre Conference With Mrs. Andruska The purpose of my pre conference with Mrs. Andruska was to establish a rapport with her, to learn about her teaching style, procedures, and upcoming lesson, and to collaboratively set a goal for the lesson I would be observing. When asking my first questions to Mrs. Andruska in our pre conference, it became clear that she prides herself on providing highly effective instruction for all of her students. I asked her about the areas of her instruction that she takes pride in, and where she believes her biggest strengths are. She explained that she prides herself on incorporating a variety of music education methodologies into her teaching. These methodologies include Orff, Kodaly, and Dalcroz, all of which Mrs. Andruska has studied and obtained certifications in. Her attention to detail in her lesson design, preparation, and organization was evident when discussing the lesson I would be observing. I asked Mrs. Andruska the following questions in an attempt to learn more about any instructional challenges she is facing in her classroom: How have things been going in your classroom? Can you tell me about some areas that you are finding success? My goal is to offer you guidance that will help your teaching to improve. Are there any areas you feel we should focus on? 4. How will you know if all students are understanding the lesson? • 34. Loss Of Humanity In The Vampire Diaries In what s become a most unwelcomed trend of season seven, The Vampire Diaries sidelines its far more interesting material, yet again, to focus on a boring old game of cat and mouse. Which is something this show typically does well, even if it s only because they do it so often. Almost immediately in this case however, the stakes are lowered when we discover from Fake Stefan that his soul could easily hop into the body of a transitioning vampire, leaving Stefan s body safe. So while it s not ideal, what with having to sacrifice a human life and all if it really came down to the wire Stefan could jump out of Marty s dying body and live to fight another few days. That would also give us more time to spend with Fake Stefan. Who has somehow been the most enjoyable antagonist of the entire season. Yes, as predicted he s basically Real Stefan with his humanity switch off, but the portrayal is different enough where you can look at him and truly believe it s someone else. My money s on the latter, considering the show we re talking about. Either way, her plan works flawlessly and she easily extracts the information about why The Armory wants her: to open a vault that was originally sealed by a Bennett witch several decades ago. • 35. Free Trade Is A Policy Free trade is a policy followed by some international markets in which countries governments do not restrict imports from, or exports to, other countries. Free trade is exemplified by the European Economic Area and the North American Free Trade Agreement, which have established open markets. Free trade is an economic policy under which the government does not interfere with trade. No tariffs are applied to imports or exports, and people are allowed to trade goods and services as they please. Supply and demand dictates the prices for which goods and services sell and are the only factors that determine how resources are allocated in society. Under a free trade system, there are no trade barriers. There is free access to markets and market information, and there are no government imposed monopolies. Those who support free trade believe that it allows companies to come by raw materials and lower prices, which, in turn, results in lower prices on the open market. Supporters also believe that the levels of employment in a nation are determined by the monetary policy of that nation and not the trade policy. Thus, the free trade economy of the U.S. is not to blame for the increasing levels of unemployment. Many jobs are leaving the nation, but supporters of the free trade debate argue that if companies could not outsource their labor to other nations, they could just automate these processes anyway. Additionally, when people work for a profit and must compete, they produce ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Urbanisation has become somewhat of a fast growing phenomenon in the last 40 years especially, but it was not always the case. In the year 1800 only 5% of the global population was urbanized (DeVries, 1984) but following the agricultural and industrial revolutions, that number grew. In England for example the urban population jumped from 17% in 1801 to 72% in 1891 (Watson, 1993), and according to the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs, Population division, in 2011 52.% of people were living in urban areas worldwide (United Nations, 2012). The same department estimate that by the year 2050 close to 70% of the worlds population will be living in urban areas, which will equate to over 6 billion people (United Nations, 2012). The areas with the highest urban populations currently are those in Latin America, with 76% of the population living in urban areas in the year 2000, however South and East Asia are set to have the biggest jump in urban population in the next 40 years (UN,2004). Today the largest and fastest growing cities are in developing countries (Envio Facts 2001).This data shows that urbanisation is responsible for massive growth, obviously in urban settlements. These beliefs are incorporated into their lives and have profound effects in the public lives of Jains. Generally, all Jains seek to follow the first three vows as much as possible; those who enter the monastic order keep all five (Lewis, 2009, p. 126). When these pillars are applied it opens the door for the release from the cycle of birth, life, and death, which is the goal of Jainism. Without keeping all five of these pillars it is believed that this cycle cannot be broken. Daily Routine of a Jain Monk Jain Monks start their day homeless, naked, and without owning any possessions. The Jain sect called the Svetambara (literally, the white clad ) does not observe nudity in their daily worship and wear white robes; the second sect, called the Digambara (literally, the sky clad ) which observe total nudity in the devotion to the religion (Lewis, 2009, pp. 126 127). Then, the monk finds an open patch of earth without any insects, and performs a form of personal hygiene, which consists of washing his head and feet, while taking a complete bath is not permissible. After this, the monk returns to the monastic chamber where he studies the sacred texts of Jainism. He sits in meditation to identify his faults such as negligence in behavior towards living creatures (Jain Ascetism, para. 4). Then he proceeds to the nearby temple to pay devotions to the jina (one who has conquered the worldly passions by one s own strenuous efforts) (Sangave, 2006).
