Theme Of Identity In The Absolutely True Diary Of A...
Many times in life, difficult decisions have to be made regarding one s future. It is difficult for
people to find a balance between pursuing their dreams and remaining true to themselves and
those they care about. This struggle is commonly evident when one is caught between two
cultures. These cultures often include a level of loyalty that is hard to break, but is necessary in
the pursuit of dreams and potential. My mom felt this struggle in her life between her mexican
heritage and her decision to move to America. She struggled with deciding to leave her home and
those she loved, however when she did she found a greater sense of selfand new opportunities. To
this day she feels loyalty to her mexican heritage and remains a citizen of Mexico to demonstrate
her patriotism. She found a greater identity between the two cultures. In Sherman Alexie s The
Absolutely True Diary of a Part Time Indian the protagonist, Junior, experiences an internal struggle
between his loyalty to his tribe and his desire to leave and pursue his future. Junior s internal conflict
enhances the theme of identity by demonstrating how even after leaving the reservation, he
remained true to his roots while developing his sense of self. The internal conflict that Junior faces
with leaving his tribe to pursue his future at Reardan adds to the discovery of his identity. The
reservation was both heaven and hell for Junior although he felt a sense of belonging there, he also
found himself lacking

The Film Techniques Used By Cameron
Being a science fiction fan during his childhood, he worked his way in producing several highly
acclaimed science fiction movies such as Avatar, Aliens, and the Terminator. Born on August
16, 1954, in Ontario Canada and later moved to California to finish his college at California
State University. In order to pursue his dreams in cinematography, he worked as a truck driver
and would work on screenplays. Then his career began from an art director in Battle beyond the
Stars (1980) to directing various films. Now, he is an Oscar winning director whose films Titanic
(1997) and Avatar (2009) remains the top grossing films of all time. He has won various awards
from different sides of the world, Norway, France, and the United Kingdom. Mise en scenes were
well incorporated in each of James Camerons movies especially for science fiction movies that used
elegantly crafted visuals.
This paper will focus on the film techniques used by Cameron in his three most known movies,
Titanic (1997), Avatar (2009), and Terminatorseries. Mise en scene according to John Gibbs is
used in film studies in the discussion of visual style. Translated literally it means To put on stage ,
but for the purpose of students, it is defined as the contents of the frame and the way they are
organized (p 5). In addition, a director s style can be identified only through the arrangement and
orchestrations of the film s mise en scene (Nelmes, 425).The films Titanic, Avatar, and Terminator
series were successful

Running Head: ORGANIZATIONAL PROFILE
Introduction
In this paper, we will explore the magical experience of Walt DisneyCompany through the structure
and symbolic frames based on the Bolman and Deal?s individual lens. The structural frame focuses
on the architecture of an organization and other features like: rules, regulations, goals, policies,
roles, tasks, job designs, job descriptions, technology, chain of command, vertical and horizontal
coordinating mechanisms, assessment and reward systems, and many more (Bolman, L., Deal, T.
2013). The symbolic frame focuses on the culture, meaning, metaphor, ritual, ceremony, stories,
heroes and inspiration of the organization (Bolman, L., Deal, T. 2013). On this analysis I will also
explain the organization?s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats that impact the
leadership, partners, employees and community internally and externally.

Persuasive Essay On The SAT
It all started back in 1926 when the first SAT was administered to high school students. The
Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) is a test dreaded by high school students, given to them spring of
junior year. It s goal is to academically test students to see if they would be a good fit in that
certain college and play a role in admissions. More and more schools have been finding that the SAT
provides neither an accurate nor helpful view of its applicants (Flore) . Over time it s becoming
more accepted that the SAT doesn t show the students ability. In the U.S. there are already 850
colleges that are SAT optional, meaning that they don t require testscores in admissions. Grade
point average and AP tests showcase the students academic skill more. Colleges should get rid of
the reliance on SAT scores in admissions.
It s been proven that these test taking abilities don t properly gauge a student s ability to perform.
The tests center is math and english, but with so much content it can be hard for a student to study.
It s not like a regular quiz in class where the student knows the exact material. WIth the SAT having
influence on college admissions students feel like they can move their grades to the bottom of their
priorities. According to a study done by Princeton, it found that going SAT optional would result in
classes of students with higher grade point averages, Dropping testing entirely, on the other hand,
would result in higher levels of academic achievement in the

Notes On The Trade System

Mini Case 1
FIN 536.03
November 10th, 2016
1.
The carry trade is a system to gain profit by borrowing money using low interest rate currency
and then investing it with another currency of high interest rate. Carry trade is a quick and easy
way to get profit. Investors would benefit from the failure of Uncovered Interest Rate Parity
(UIRP). According to Bloomberg, the carry trade is the easy money , it is an easy way to get
profit without any hassle or hard work.
Money managers can easily get profit by utilizing the failure of UIRP. The arbitrage techniques
work for the investors because the UIRP does not hold. The uncovered interest rate parity is a
parity condition stating that the difference between interest rates from any currency should be
equal. But in the real world, the UIRP does not hold, this is what attract investors to do arbitrage
between currencies. Previously, people pair Australian Dollar with Japanese Yen, but the instability
of these both currencies, force money managers to change their funding and target currency, which
is why people start to carry trade Indian Rupees and Euros.
2.
Developed countries tend to have low or negative interest rates. The main reason for low interest
rates in the developed countries is to stimulate economic growth. European Central Bank (ECB) is
an institution that regulates the interest rates in the Euro zone. Negative or low interest rate was
created to help the slow or low economic growth. In contrast,

Encouraged by the results, Hetty

substantial study. The Parenting Education Support Forum funded Lucy McCarraher, whose
combined experience in the media, research and parenting issues was highly appropriate, to
conduct a research project into Parents and the Media . We were pleased also to work with Greg
Philo who helped devise the questionnaire, the Glasgow Media Group who analysed results and
Family Circle magazine, who ran the questionnaire in the May 1998 edition and have published the
results. These project partners encouraged us to add a section about parents views of media
influence on their children. The responses to this show how powerfully parents find the media
affects their children.
The results of the survey and the focus groups Lucy conducted were even more positive than we
had expected or hoped for. As anyone in regular contact with parents knows, mothers, fathers and
other carers take their responsibilities extremely seriously, as well as finding them on balance
enjoyable and deeply fulfilling. They are keen to have more accessible information and look to the

Joseph Stalin and USSR Essay
Joseph Stalin and USSR Under the leadership of Josef Stalin, U.R.S.S. has become fast an
industrialized state, and having won the Second World War, a super power. In the same time,
though, StalinГ‚ s tyranny has brought the ruin of the Russian society. Even before the death of the
Soviet ruler Lenin, the leaders of the Communist Party have begun the fight for succession.
Controlling the party meant in fact holding control of the whole country Г‚ the first socialist
country, giant but extremely uninvolved. The Г‚ 20 witnessed some big fights for power. In 1923

socialist writings and ideas which was the reason why he was expelled in 1899. He entered in
the circle of the revolutionaries and spent the next years supporting the cause of the revolution,
being often thrown in prison or forced to live in intern exile. In 1912, he enrolls in the Bolshevik
Party (later known as Communist), becoming member of the Central Committee. The role played
in the Revolution in October 1917 was insignificant (which was hushed up later), but afterwards
he proved himself skilful in solving the problems which popped during the Civil War. He was
named first Minister of the Nationalities, and in 1922 became the General Secretary of the
Communist Party. This desk work, apparently boring, was for Stalin the road to power, giving him
the opportunity to control the partyГ‚ s committees and so to promote his own sustainers. So the Г‚
20 were for Stalin full of important successes against his rivals. These were, obviously, politic
disputes and not real fights: although the communists treated their opponents with harshness, there

American Buffalo Research Paper
The taxonomy for a buffalo and a cow are very similar. Depending on what type of buffalo
depends on what species it is. For the American buffalo, the specie is bison. Bison is a common
meat for many Americans because it is considered to be leaner than cow. Because the buffalo
and cow are so similar, the lactation and physiology aspect are similar with few changes.
Buffalos tend to have longer teats and thicker teats. In buffalos, the milk is stored in the
secretory tissue even after a 10 to 12 hour milking interval (Borghese et al., 2007). The milk must
be removed completely so the milk production will not decrease and apoptosis will not take place.

Also when the buffalo releases milk, it can clean the bacteria that accumulated inside the teat
post dip that got trapped in the keratin lining. When mastitis is prevalence, it comes in two
forms; subclinical and clinical. When a cow gets mastitis, the somatic cell counts increase
which causes a decrease in milk yield (Sahin et al., 2017). Milk ejection is important for the
buffalo. Certain events trigger the body to release milk. Presence of the calf during milking,
feeding during milking, manual udder stimulation, and oxytocin ejection are reasons for the
buffalo to release milk. Buffalos have a low proportion of cisternal milk and needs these
premilking stimulations to receive the milk from the alveoli compartments. It is important to
keep records of milk flow and milk ejection. Milk flow varies between species and environmental
factors play a role in it. Buffalos tend to have a lower milk flow rate than cows because of low milk
yield. To increase milk yield, the buffalo needs to have a dry period. The buffalo needs about two
to three months to be dried off. The dry period should begin when yield falls below 2.5

Cultural Revolution Mao
A revolution is not an apple that falls when it is ripe. You have to make it fall
Evaluate the accuracy of this statement in relation to the causes of the Chinese cultural revolution
A revolution is not an apple that falls when it is ripe. You have to make it fall. This statement by
Che Guevara suggests that in order for a revolution to occur, the leaders must not hesitate, but
rather, they should take immediate and effective actions. This quote is particularly accurate for the
Chinese Cultural Revolution, because the main leader of the Revolution Mao Zedong was able to
manipulate the public, thus enabling him to bring about a revolution. The Cultural Revolution
occurred as a result of the failures in the Great Leap Forward, and officially, Mao claimed that the
goal of the Chinese Cultural Revolution is to build a society surrounding the proletariats by
bringing back revolutionary spirit. However, it became increasingly clear that Mao s real intentions
were rather personal, as he used the Cultural Revolution to re establish his power as the Chairman
of the Communist Party of China.
The Cultural Revolution was Mao s response to the disasters of the Great Leap Forward, during
which at least 30 million Chinese people starved to death in the span of 5 years (Ben Walsh). In
1959, Mao admitted that I also have an indirect share of the blame... I don t want other people to
shirk their responsibility. (Phillip Short). This suggests that even though Mao was aware that his

Mark Antony s Use Of Persuasion In Julius Caesar
Persuasion is often more effectual than force (Aesop). Nearly 600 years before the assassination
of Julius Caesar, the famous Greek fabulist Aesop knew the power of persuading others. From
then until now, persuasion is a huge part of everyday life. Examples of persuasion include
advertisements incall forms of media: books, billboards, and especially speeches. One of the most
celebrated speeches in literary history is the one given by Mark Antony at the funeral of Julius
Caesar in William Shakespeare s The Tragedy of Julius Caesar. The techniques that Antony uses are
the predominant reasons why his monologue resonated with his audience and why he was able to

Repetition is a powerful form of persuasion that reinforces the speaker s message by repeating
words, sentences, and information. This can influence the reader s attitude toward a particular
character or event. During Mark Antony s speech, he continuously exclaims, But Brutus says he
[Caesar] was ambitious, And Brutus is an honorable man... Yet Brutus says he [Caesar] was
ambitious,
And Brutus is an honorable man.
(III.ii.14,15,21,22)
Antony constantly reminds the crowd that Brutus was an honorable man while proving to the
people of Rome that Brutus was actually wrong about Caesar s ambition. This shows how Antony
s repetition as a form of sarcasm was so effective. He clearly states that Brutus is an honorable
man, but when he states this, he is simply mocking him and proving to the crowd that he, in fact, is
not an honorable man. Not only was Brutus wrong about Caesar in general, he was also wrong
about killing Caesar. Antony s speech states,
Did this in Caesar seem ambitious?
When that the poor have cried, Caesar hath wept;
Ambition should be made of sterner stuff.
Yet Brutus says he was ambitious;...

Initial Diagnosis And Treatment Plan Process
Initial Diagnosis and Treatment Plan Process
Listening to a client during an initial session and applying reflective listening techniques
can put you in the mindfulness moment with the client. By being a mindful listener as a therapist,
I believe it helps with being able to diagnose your client more accurate. It is important to have a
system or flow of questions during your intake process, so it can provide the clinician with viable
information regarding that client and their concerns, from there you can create a specific treatment
plan. Without a client rapport, it is difficult to effectively counsel someone because people don t
like to listen or talk to other people they don t trust, therefore, building a rapport with your client
is important. Not only is building a rapport important for a counselor, but we must rely on our
interviewing skills to obtain valuable information. From intake to completion of treatment, the
intake interview is typically when the treatment association begins between the client and the
counselor. At the same time during the intake process, there is a large amount of personal data
that can be collected thru a general checklist of question including symptoms that can help with
diagnosing the client. When initial meeting between the client and counselor one can start off with
the two basic greeting questions:
1.How are you feeling today?
2.What brings you in today?

Erectile Dysfunction In Young Men
Erectile dysfunction in young men has become a serious issue of concern as many young males
are suffering from this disease and the numbers are increasing on a daily basis. Primarily, erectile
dysfunction was associated with adult men who are above 60 years of age; however, research
shows that this disorder can occur in males at any age. But before taking a deeper look into the
subject, let s focus on what erectile dysfunction actually is.
Erectile dysfunction is simply the inability to sustain an erection of the male sexual organ at the
time of sexual intercourse. As a man, it is very crucial for every young male to experience healthy
sex life, and if due to any reasons this doesn t seem a possible, it can be a major reason for

Lifestyle choices: Most of the young men make unhealthy lifestyle choices and are prone to
developing bad habits like smoking or drinking. Even behavioral issues also affect sexual drive as
well. Not only does the consumption of illicit drugs and intoxicating substances like narcotics or
marijuana is also one of the major reasons behind erectile dysfunction in young men.
Erectile dysfunction is a serious problem that needs to be addressed with optimum care, or else it
can lead to several other health problems as well. This is why proper diagnosis and treatment of
this disease is truly important.
How to diagnose erectile dysfunction in young men?
Proper diagnosis of erectile dysfunction or ED is made by performing certain tests. There are
mainly three significant methods of diagnosis and they are as follows:
Getting to know of patient history: Doctors interview the men prior to the treatment to find certain
answers like
* Is it the lack of libido that s causing the dysfunction or its simply premature ejaculation?
* Whether the patient is suffering from any psychological disorder or any relationship issues or not?
* Patient medical

If I Wanted A Real World Experience As A Planner
If I wanted a real world experience as a planner, then I certainly received it at this hearing. I can

complicated hearing we had in class and I believe everyone rose to the challenge. The amount of
prep work required for all parties greatly increased with this hearingdue to the scientific nature of
the proposal. All groups were sufficiently prepared and performed exceptionally well considering
the difficulty of the case. I am speaking as a BOZA member, but I believe the decision for a

Essay On Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy
Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy
Located on the X chromosome lies a gene whose improper function would take from us what we
often sloppily overlook our mobility. The freedom to dance with poise, to run with agility, to
dress one s self, to bend over and scoop a dropped pencil off the floor are all motions which are
only dreamt of by those with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. An X linked recessive disorder which
can be exhibited in both males and females, DMD is most prominent in males, affecting 3500 boys
in the world (McKusick). DMD affects muscle skeletal, smooth, and cardiac by causing
degeneration (McKusick). Diagnosis occurs around five years old, and by age ten, a wheelchair is
often necessary for the patient. The skeletal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Sixty percent of patients with DMD have a dystrophin gene which holds a deletion (Bulman et al.
457). Another six to ten percent of patients have a dystrophin gene which contains a duplication of
one or more exons (Bulman et al. 457). Along with these mutations, other mapping techniques have
been used to distinguish further disruptions in the dystrophin gene which seem to cause DMD.
Western blotting techniques have been used to identify nonsense mutations on the dystrophin gene
(Bulman et al. 458). Polymerase chain sequencing has been used to find a mutation in exon 26
(Bulman et al. 458). Southern analysis revealed that another gene problem which leads to DMD is
a premature chain termination, which results in a truncated dystrophin protein (Clemens et al.
1781). These are all mutations found in patients with DMD, which shows that there are various
ways the dystrophin gene can be affected. Each of these mutations cause a problem in that they do
not function correctly when coding for the protein dystrophin.
The malfunction of the protein dystrophin is responsible for the symptoms of DMD. If the
dystrophin gene functions correctly, the normal allele codes for the production of the protein
dystrophin ( NCBI ). This is a high molecular weight protein, and it is in .002% of the total proteins.
Normally, the dystrophin protein functions inside muscle cells, providing structural support. It

Aldi Store Analysis
On Friday after class, I went to the ALDI store in Anderson to make a purchase and to get some
observations. I ended up buying some Kraft cheese and FitoBit water. The water was some kind
of fitness water with low sodium; it didn t taste so well. I ve never been nor shopped out of
ALDI so this definitely was an eye opener to me. As I walked in, I noticed the store was very
small and cluttered. Everything was stacked on top of each other and very close with barely any
walking space. There were no aisles to designate you to your product. You simply had to keep
walking around to find what you need; it was like looking for a needle in a haystack. As I can
continue to walk through out the store, I noticed some designs on packages that looked similar
to Chips Ahoy, but it was not that brand. It was a lower level brand with a similar design. They
even had packages that look like it could be Oreos, Quakers, Kraft and more. The name of the
brand that ALDI have mainly in its stores is Benton s . There is another brand that I noticed
called, Millville. One thing that stood out to me as I was strolling the store was the fact that

The Value Stream Analysis ( Vsa ) Essay
spent several years in the military trying to convince leaders to use Lean principles to improve
their operations. But even when presented with an action plan based on the Value Stream Analysis
(VSA) of a costly process, the action plan was rarely implemented by the very organizational
leaders who requested the analysis in the first place.
There always seemed to be resistance to using Lean tools that could have led to some very big
improvements. At first, I couldn t figure out why. But after a while, I started noticing certain
patterns in the language of reluctant leaders that pointed to some key underlying causes for
resistance.
These causes seemed to boil down to the following:
1. Lack of Understanding of Lean Language
2. We Are Different Because We Are Not A Manufacturing Organization
3. Organizational Stove Pipes
4. The True Cost Of Wasteful Processes Not Measured
5. Mobility Of Leadership Personnel
Lean principles can help organizations improve profitability through improved cycle times,
productivity and quality, by removing waste from work processes and systems. The resulting
reduction in waste also leads to reductions in operating costs. But Lean was born in the
manufacturing world. So some of the core concepts pertain to assembly line set ups and still use
that language (work in process inventory, flow cells, kanban based pull systems, etc.).
Even so, there are many examples of service companies successfully using Lean tools. One of the
largest and well

The relations between the two countries are in good shape, since the time of the late President

30 For 30 There s No Place Like Home Summary
The documentary 30 for 30: There s No Place Like Home was composed by American
documentary filmmaker and author Josh Swade to inform the audience about what is considered
the most important document in sports history; the rules of basketball. The rules, invented by
James Naismith, were going to be auctioned at Sotheby s in New York City. Josh Swade is an

World War 1 Trenches Research Paper
The majority of fighting on the Western front during World War one was fought in trenches.
These were long, deep ditch like structures where soldiers would live, fight and most likely die.
The two armies would be stationed on parallel trenches where they would face each other in a
long battle of attrition, there would be many different lines of trenches where armies would
retreat to or advance to a captured trench. In between The two armies trenches would be no mans
land where the fighting happened. For a soldier life would be a cold, dirty, monotonous cycle
that seemed to never end. Soldiers would be living together in tiny spaces in all weather, so
disease was common and was a terrible killer for the soldiers. Trenches would often flood,
making the damp and perfect for rat that carried many deadly diseases and would eat the rations

The Waking Poem By Theodore Roethke
Through his life affirming poem, The Waking, Theodore Roethke explores the cycle of life using
life and death as metaphors to describe how we come to a more enlightened state of being. From a
primary reading of his poem The Waking, only a simple understanding of the poem is attainable, as
Roethke does not give his work a defined setting or subject. In addition, it seems that the poem is
very simplistic and does not require much attention to understand or interpret. However, upon
revisiting the poem multiple times, it can be inferred that Roethke intentionally uses various
paradoxes and natureimagery to symbolize aspects of life in order to help the reader understand
his outlook on how to endure life and in order to evoke and develop the theme of the cyclical
pattern of life.
The title examines the transition from sleep to wakefulness as a state of mind that is representative
of both states yet very different from each. The definitive article, The, suggests a fixed and real
thing; meanwhile, the gerund Waking, hints towards a continuous process. From an initial reading,
anyone can see that Roethke repeats the same lines over and over again. However, the specific
rhyme scheme Roethke utilizes in addition to the repetitive lines is ... Show more content on

Donald Justice s Poem Incident In A Rose Garden
Live While You Can
James 4:14
Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are nothing more
than a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes.
Donald Justice wrote a poem called Incident in a Rose Garden, showing readers the true fact that
life is nothing more than a vapor. It evaporates almost as quickly as it is made. However, there is
beauty in it as well as surprise. He portrays this theme throughout the poem by using contrast and
irony.
Furthermore, there are many people that are scared of death and for good reasons. Although death is
final and cannot be undone, it is a beautiful thing. Mr. Justice shows this by using the literary
device of contrast. During the poem, Death is amid the rose gardens. When people think of roses,

Donald Justice uses situational irony to establish to readers that death is sometimes unexpected.
The gardener realized this by saying I want to see my sons/ Once more before I die./ I want to
see California (Justice 17 19). The gardener realized almost too late that life is short. This is
apparent in his sudden push to see family and foreign places. Even though Death is not coming
for the Gardener, it was an important lesson that the Gardener learns. Many people believe that
they will never die or that they deserve to live forever. When, in fact, no one is owed life and no
one should have a sense of entitlement. In the poem, the master addresses death: Sir, you must be
that stranger/ Who threatened my gardener./ This is my property, sir (Justice 16 18). From this
quote, readers infer that the master does not believe that Death has any reason to be on his
property. In other words, the Master thinks he deserves a tomorrow even though he does not. Mr.
Justice uses situational irony to show readers how death will sometimes come at the moments one

Dominance correlates to competitiveness because it gives a sense of power. Power as discussed in
class can be described as ability to exercise one s will which can alter the attitude of the opponent

example, the tailgate encourages students to prepare for the battle against another opponent. In the
Journal of Consumer Psychology it states, ...competitiveness was guided by three situational

men are supposed to be aggressive as a trait of masculinity and women are supposed to be

Why People Emigrate From Their Native Countries
Every year, most countries lose half of their population to migration. These countries are left behind
in the areas such as developmental and economical growth. The government and the people living
in that Country suffer the consequences such as low productivity and poor academic performance
due to lack of qualified teachers. People emigrate from their native countries for economic, familial,
and educational reasons.
Economic issues are one of the reasons people emigrate from their native land to other
Countries. One example, is the high cost of living and low wages in some native Countries.
Most people in their native land are deprived of having easy access to the most common things
such as food, electricity, and housing. The high cost of living often forces individuals to search
for an alternative place to live leading them to emigrate to a place that is more affordable. Low
wages also play a big role in migration. To elaborate, a teacher who teaches in high schoolin their
native country obtains a much lower hourly wage and hardly any benefits than another teacher with
the same qualifications teaching in a different country. When this happens, people in their native
land have no choice but to emigrate to a country where they can get higher wages and better
benefits. As a result, the country loses its people who would have helped move the country forward
in terms of education and this results in poor academic performance of students who are in the
country. Not only do

Analysis Of Letter From Birmingham Jail
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. wrote the Letter From Birmingham Jail in order to discourse the
tremendous issue in Birmingham and the U.S at the time. The Letter From Birmingham Jail
discusses the great injustices happening toward the black community in Birmingham. Martin
Luther King, Jr uses emotion, ethical, and logical appeals in order to justify his desire for racial
justice and equality. Martin Luther King Jr. wrote this letter to defend the actions of his
organization. The letter addresses the clergymen by replying to them in that letter , he also
addresses the white moderates that sympathize with King but don t do anything to stick up for the
black community. While jailed for standing up for what he believed in and moral standing, King
had time to address criticism and time to clarify the purpose of the movement. Marting Luther King
Jr. addressed the attemps at negations and how the movement came to the point of taking action
with protests and sit ins. King experiences first hand brutality from officrs and the bias aplication of
the law, he felt the desperate need for change and the anger amongst the blacks. Negations were
attempted but the agreemnts of removing the negative signs display around business were ignored,
governments only wanted to silence the problem and not try to solve it. Anger and frustrations built
by the disconnected white church, privileged classes and criticisms with lack of understanding.
King knew the anger would eventually lash out and rather use that energy by peacefully protesting
before it turned into viokence. In this letter King presented his belief with logic, history, facts and
why things must and will change.
Returning to the Letter From Birmingham Jail , King uses a variety of Logos as an appeal
throughout his letter. Logos is an appeal to logic, and is a way of persuading an audience by
reason. With this in mind , the first example of logos king used in the letter was, In any nonviolent
campaign there are four basic steps: collection of the facts to determine whether injustices exist;
negotiation; self purification; and direct action (King 245). In this sentence, Martin Luther King Jr.

After gaining operational experience and skills fighting in Syria, jihadist operatives may

so on their own initiative or following directions from the Al Nusra Front and other jihadist

committed by the other extremist groups like ISIS and ISIL and the rapid gains made by that
organization in both Syria and Iraq, we ignore the growing strength of the lower key al Nusra

traditional way of airstrikes and kidnapping leaders but by establishing a political solution. To
get to this level Syria may have to be divided to give control to the Free Syrian Army (FSA) this

Great Society Dbq
President Lyndon B. Johnson s Great Society was a set of social, political, and domestic programs
put in place between 1964 and 1965, in response to the country s quickly fading post war
prosperity. It strived to reduce social inequalities (especially racial discrimination) and boost the
formerly thriving economy. The Great Society encompassed virtually all social policy sections, like
civil rights, poverty and housing, education, health, welfare, arts and culture, transportation,

Virtually every aspect of the Great Society was more or less linked to this war , like, for
example, education: more specifically, the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965.
This act promoted education for all by allowing federally funded grants and special education
programs to schools with a high concentration of low income children. Two of the paramount
aspects of the Great Society are education and culture, to which the Higher Education Facilities
Act of December 1963 contributed. Though it was technically signed before the official start of
the Great Society, it was one of Johnson s very first steps towards his goal and it created
scholarships and low interest loans for students while funding schools so that they could provide
better educational facilities, such as libraries and classrooms. The Higher Education Act of 1965
was more or less an extension of the latter act, as its goal was to strengthen the educational
resources of American colleges and universities, as well as providing federal funding for post

Memories In The Silent Cry
Each novel has specific themes or images it is attempting to portray throughout the text. The
Silent Cry is no exception to this attempt. After reading the novel, it soon became clear to me
that the theme of this novel is the importance of memories. I believe that the novel is trying to
show how important our memories are while highlighting the differences of these memories
between family members based on their life experiences. The first place where we can see the
vastly different recollection of memories is when the brothers are discussing S. Takashi has very
fond memories of S bringing him candy and being the leader of the village men. Mitsu, on the
other hand, remembers quite a different S. He recalls him being weak and the laughing stock of
the town. He even goes so far to say that... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Takashi sees him like a weak man and emphasizes the strength of his grandfather s brother. Mitsu
recalls something quite different. If we look at their memory of who went to Kochi first,
grandfather or his brother, we see that the confusion continues. Takashi claims that it was the
brother who went up to Kochi. Mitsu proclaims that it was their grandfather who went first. He
recalls exact dates and uses that in his arguments against his brother. Mitsu enjoys taking this
memory way from his brother and declares that he has the memory mistaken: That was what he
wanted to believe, so he was almost consciously ignoring the fact that it was wrong (Oe, Pg. 95)
The importance of memories is key to understanding the novel, but we must also focus on the idea
of life experiences. I believe that the life events that each of the brothers has experienced alter the
way in which they recall memories. Mitsu has been going through a rough time. His good friend
just killed himself, and his wife just gave birth to a son with medical issues. He is used to seeing
difficult things and has no trouble recalling painful

The Social Structure Of Science
Because the communication of findings, necessary in the social structure of science, imparts
validity challenges to the work there needs to be means by which the scientist can facilitate both
communication and validation of the work. This, I suggest, is achieved through the documentation
of the scientific process via specific techniques that serve to create both a simulated direct
observation and a perceived replicability. Logical positivism, as a form of empiricism, links the
validity of a scientific finding with direct experience by asserting that experience is the only source
of meaning, as well as the only source of knowledge (Godfrey Smith, 2003, p. 27) and therefore the
only means of verification of a claim. Given that written communication necessary violates the
assumption of direct experience other means of establishing this experience become necessary. In
the sections that follow, I will highlight two means by which the scientific article asserts objectivity
through both simulated direct observation and perceived replicability. The objectivity and
replicability established though these means in turn allows for the validation the scientific claim
despite the distance created in its communication. The structure of scientific writing The modern
day journal article is widely believed to have it origins in the reports of scientific investigations of
the seventeenth and early eighteenth century, specifically those of Robert Boyle. Day (1989)

A Study On Cell Physiology And Biostatistics
J: Welcome everyone. I am Jake Rossein, I graduated Johns Hopkins University and Columbia
University where I got my PHD in cell physiology and biostatistics. Several years of studies and
hard work has put me where I am today.
Tonight, we will hear a few of the highly educated doctors and experts in the field of breast cancer
talk about their knowledge and experiences studying this deadly disease. In the United States, 1 in
8 women are diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. It is estimated that each year over
220,000 people will be diagnosed with breast cancer and is the second leading death among women.
Fortunately, breast cancer deaths have gone down in recent years due to advancements in screening
and treatment options and earlier detections.
Without further adieu we welcome Professor Trent Starr from the University of Harvard. Trent
graduated from Bucknell University where he received his PHD in cancer studies. Over to my
left is Doctor Richard Zampieron who is the head of Cancer treatments at Stony Brook University.
He is also the co founder and co creator of the American Cancer Society. And finally Liam Waring,
who is the surgical operations specialist at the Lehigh valley hospital.
So gentlemen before we explain about about the diagnosing and treatment for both cancer and
cancerous cells forming in both males and females, let s talk about different hints and clues that
may save your life in terms of how to detect and catch this deadly disease while it

  • 2. Theme Of Identity In The Absolutely True Diary Of A... Many times in life, difficult decisions have to be made regarding one s future. It is difficult for people to find a balance between pursuing their dreams and remaining true to themselves and those they care about. This struggle is commonly evident when one is caught between two cultures. These cultures often include a level of loyalty that is hard to break, but is necessary in the pursuit of dreams and potential. My mom felt this struggle in her life between her mexican heritage and her decision to move to America. She struggled with deciding to leave her home and those she loved, however when she did she found a greater sense of selfand new opportunities. To this day she feels loyalty to her mexican heritage and remains a citizen of Mexico to demonstrate her patriotism. She found a greater identity between the two cultures. In Sherman Alexie s The Absolutely True Diary of a Part Time Indian the protagonist, Junior, experiences an internal struggle between his loyalty to his tribe and his desire to leave and pursue his future. Junior s internal conflict enhances the theme of identity by demonstrating how even after leaving the reservation, he remained true to his roots while developing his sense of self. The internal conflict that Junior faces with leaving his tribe to pursue his future at Reardan adds to the discovery of his identity. The reservation was both heaven and hell for Junior although he felt a sense of belonging there, he also found himself lacking ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Film Techniques Used By Cameron Being a science fiction fan during his childhood, he worked his way in producing several highly acclaimed science fiction movies such as Avatar, Aliens, and the Terminator. Born on August 16, 1954, in Ontario Canada and later moved to California to finish his college at California State University. In order to pursue his dreams in cinematography, he worked as a truck driver and would work on screenplays. Then his career began from an art director in Battle beyond the Stars (1980) to directing various films. Now, he is an Oscar winning director whose films Titanic (1997) and Avatar (2009) remains the top grossing films of all time. He has won various awards from different sides of the world, Norway, France, and the United Kingdom. Mise en scenes were well incorporated in each of James Camerons movies especially for science fiction movies that used elegantly crafted visuals. This paper will focus on the film techniques used by Cameron in his three most known movies, Titanic (1997), Avatar (2009), and Terminatorseries. Mise en scene according to John Gibbs is used in film studies in the discussion of visual style. Translated literally it means To put on stage , but for the purpose of students, it is defined as the contents of the frame and the way they are organized (p 5). In addition, a director s style can be identified only through the arrangement and orchestrations of the film s mise en scene (Nelmes, 425).The films Titanic, Avatar, and Terminator series were successful ... The Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) is a test dreaded by high school students, given to them spring of junior year. It s goal is to academically test students to see if they would be a good fit in that certain college and play a role in admissions. More and more schools have been finding that the SAT provides neither an accurate nor helpful view of its applicants (Flore) . Over time it s becoming more accepted that the SAT doesn t show the students ability. In the U.S. there are already 850 colleges that are SAT optional, meaning that they don t require testscores in admissions. Grade point average and AP tests showcase the students academic skill more. Colleges should get rid of the reliance on SAT scores in admissions. It s been proven that these test taking abilities don t properly gauge a student s ability to perform. The carry trade is a system to gain profit by borrowing money using low interest rate currency and then investing it with another currency of high interest rate. Carry trade is a quick and easy way to get profit. Investors would benefit from the failure of Uncovered Interest Rate Parity (UIRP). According to Bloomberg, the carry trade is the easy money , it is an easy way to get profit without any hassle or hard work. Money managers can easily get profit by utilizing the failure of UIRP. The arbitrage techniques work for the investors because the UIRP does not hold. The uncovered interest rate parity is a parity condition stating that the difference between interest rates from any currency should be equal. But in the real world, the UIRP does not hold, this is what attract investors to do arbitrage between currencies. Previously, people pair Australian Dollar with Japanese Yen, but the instability of these both currencies, force money managers to change their funding and target currency, which is why people start to carry trade Indian Rupees and Euros. 2. Developed countries tend to have low or negative interest rates. The main reason for low interest rates in the developed countries is to stimulate economic growth. For the American buffalo, the specie is bison. Bison is a common meat for many Americans because it is considered to be leaner than cow. Because the buffalo and cow are so similar, the lactation and physiology aspect are similar with few changes. Buffalos tend to have longer teats and thicker teats. In buffalos, the milk is stored in the secretory tissue even after a 10 to 12 hour milking interval (Borghese et al., 2007). When mastitis is prevalence, it comes in two forms; subclinical and clinical. When a cow gets mastitis, the somatic cell counts increase which causes a decrease in milk yield (Sahin et al., 2017). Milk ejection is important for the buffalo. Certain events trigger the body to release milk. Presence of the calf during milking, feeding during milking, manual udder stimulation, and oxytocin ejection are reasons for the buffalo to release milk. Buffalos have a low proportion of cisternal milk and needs these premilking stimulations to receive the milk from the alveoli compartments. It is important to keep records of milk flow and milk ejection. Milk flow varies between species and environmental factors play a role in it. You have to make it fall Evaluate the accuracy of this statement in relation to the causes of the Chinese cultural revolution A revolution is not an apple that falls when it is ripe. You have to make it fall. This statement by Che Guevara suggests that in order for a revolution to occur, the leaders must not hesitate, but rather, they should take immediate and effective actions. This quote is particularly accurate for the Chinese Cultural Revolution, because the main leader of the Revolution Mao Zedong was able to manipulate the public, thus enabling him to bring about a revolution. The Cultural Revolution occurred as a result of the failures in the Great Leap Forward, and officially, Mao claimed that the goal of the Chinese Cultural Revolution is to build a society surrounding the proletariats by bringing back revolutionary spirit. However, it became increasingly clear that Mao s real intentions were rather personal, as he used the Cultural Revolution to re establish his power as the Chairman of the Communist Party of China. The Cultural Revolution was Mao s response to the disasters of the Great Leap Forward, during which at least 30 million Chinese people starved to death in the span of 5 years (Ben Walsh). Initial Diagnosis And Treatment Plan Process Initial Diagnosis and Treatment Plan Process Listening to a client during an initial session and applying reflective listening techniques can put you in the mindfulness moment with the client. By being a mindful listener as a therapist, I believe it helps with being able to diagnose your client more accurate. It is important to have a system or flow of questions during your intake process, so it can provide the clinician with viable information regarding that client and their concerns, from there you can create a specific treatment plan. Without a client rapport, it is difficult to effectively counsel someone because people don t like to listen or talk to other people they don t trust, therefore, building a rapport with your client is important. Not only is building a rapport important for a counselor, but we must rely on our interviewing skills to obtain valuable information. From intake to completion of treatment, the intake interview is typically when the treatment association begins between the client and the counselor. At the same time during the intake process, there is a large amount of personal data that can be collected thru a general checklist of question including symptoms that can help with diagnosing the client. Along with these mutations, other mapping techniques have been used to distinguish further disruptions in the dystrophin gene which seem to cause DMD. Western blotting techniques have been used to identify nonsense mutations on the dystrophin gene (Bulman et al. 458). Polymerase chain sequencing has been used to find a mutation in exon 26 (Bulman et al. 458). Southern analysis revealed that another gene problem which leads to DMD is a premature chain termination, which results in a truncated dystrophin protein (Clemens et al. 1781). These are all mutations found in patients with DMD, which shows that there are various ways the dystrophin gene can be affected. Each of these mutations cause a problem in that they do not function correctly when coding for the protein dystrophin. The True Cost Of Wasteful Processes Not Measured 5. Mobility Of Leadership Personnel Lean principles can help organizations improve profitability through improved cycle times, productivity and quality, by removing waste from work processes and systems. The Waking Poem By Theodore Roethke Through his life affirming poem, The Waking, Theodore Roethke explores the cycle of life using life and death as metaphors to describe how we come to a more enlightened state of being. From a primary reading of his poem The Waking, only a simple understanding of the poem is attainable, as Roethke does not give his work a defined setting or subject. In addition, it seems that the poem is very simplistic and does not require much attention to understand or interpret. However, upon revisiting the poem multiple times, it can be inferred that Roethke intentionally uses various paradoxes and natureimagery to symbolize aspects of life in order to help the reader understand his outlook on how to endure life and in order to evoke and develop the theme of the cyclical pattern of life. The title examines the transition from sleep to wakefulness as a state of mind that is representative of both states yet very different from each. The definitive article, The, suggests a fixed and real thing; meanwhile, the gerund Waking, hints towards a continuous process. These countries are left behind in the areas such as developmental and economical growth. The government and the people living in that Country suffer the consequences such as low productivity and poor academic performance due to lack of qualified teachers. People emigrate from their native countries for economic, familial, and educational reasons. Economic issues are one of the reasons people emigrate from their native land to other Countries. One example, is the high cost of living and low wages in some native Countries. Most people in their native land are deprived of having easy access to the most common things such as food, electricity, and housing. The high cost of living often forces individuals to search for an alternative place to live leading them to emigrate to a place that is more affordable. Low wages also play a big role in migration. To elaborate, a teacher who teaches in high schoolin their native country obtains a much lower hourly wage and hardly any benefits than another teacher with the same qualifications teaching in a different country. When this happens, people in their native land have no choice but to emigrate to a country where they can get higher wages and better benefits. As a result, the country loses its people who would have helped move the country forward in terms of education and this results in poor academic performance of students who are in the country. The Letter From Birmingham Jail discusses the great injustices happening toward the black community in Birmingham. Martin Luther King, Jr uses emotion, ethical, and logical appeals in order to justify his desire for racial justice and equality. Martin Luther King Jr. wrote this letter to defend the actions of his organization. The letter addresses the clergymen by replying to them in that letter , he also addresses the white moderates that sympathize with King but don t do anything to stick up for the black community. While jailed for standing up for what he believed in and moral standing, King had time to address criticism and time to clarify the purpose of the movement. Marting Luther King Jr. addressed the attemps at negations and how the movement came to the point of taking action with protests and sit ins. King experiences first hand brutality from officrs and the bias aplication of the law, he felt the desperate need for change and the anger amongst the blacks. Two of the paramount aspects of the Great Society are education and culture, to which the Higher Education Facilities Act of December 1963 contributed. The Social Structure Of Science Because the communication of findings, necessary in the social structure of science, imparts validity challenges to the work there needs to be means by which the scientist can facilitate both communication and validation of the work. This, I suggest, is achieved through the documentation of the scientific process via specific techniques that serve to create both a simulated direct observation and a perceived replicability. Logical positivism, as a form of empiricism, links the validity of a scientific finding with direct experience by asserting that experience is the only source of meaning, as well as the only source of knowledge (Godfrey Smith, 2003, p. 27) and therefore the only means of verification of a claim.
