Orange Damnation Of The Vietnam s Orange Damnation
Vietnam s Orange Damnation In recent history, there has been an abundance of chemical warfare
that caused harm to society, nature, and immeasurable damage post war. To be more specific, the
Vietnam war was one of the most noticeable conflicts that was destructive to both parties involved
through chemical warfare, not only to the soldiers but also the environment. During the 1960s
through to current day, the chemical pollution of the many mangrove forests near local villages led
to health problems for the local Vietnamese people and the American soldiers. Located in Vietnam,
mangrove forest was one of the main sources of vegetation for enemy soldiers during the war. To
decrease enemy morale, the chemical herbicide, known as Agent Orange, was made by the U.S. to
poison their crops and starve the enemy troops. The highly potent Agent Orange created many
unintended problems for the locals as well as the troops because of the catastrophic damages to the
landscape and continues to affect the locals to this day. For example, polluted crops and farm lands,
Bio accumulation of Agent orange, and chronic medical problems. During the Vietnam war, the
American government used several dangerous herbicides, the most controversial was known as
Agent Orange due to its harsh impact the environment. According to the Encyclopedia Britannica,
Agent Orange was supposed to destroy crops that might feed the enemy. In addition to destroy food
supply, it also made the land so polluted that the

Dido and Camilla
Dido and Camilla Leaders Blinded by their Passions in the Aeneid
In Book I of Virgil s Aeneid, Aeneas observes a depiction of the female
warrior, Penthesilea, on the walls of Dido s temple. As Aeneas is looking
at this portrait, Dido enters the temple. Later in Book XI, as Camilla
walks through the carnage of battle, she is likened to an image of
Penthesilea returning home victorious. Virgil presents many such
similarities in his portrayals of Dido and Camilla because it is through
them, the only two female leaders in his work, that he illustrates the
destinies of rulers who fall victim to their passions. To Virgil, a great
leader is one who practices restraint, represses all passions, and ... Show more content on

She also had commanding power.
Venus describes how Dido was the captain of the entire escape venture.
Thus, it is Dido who is behind the founding of Carthage, a nation hard to
fight against in war. (I, 463) From a ridge above the city, Aeneas
observes Dido s Carthage for the first time:
Marvelous buildings, gateways, cobbled ways,
And din of wagons. There the Tyrians
Were hard at work: laying courses for walls,
Rolling up stones to build the citadel,
While others picked out buildings sites and plowed
A boundary furrow. Laws were being enacted,
Magistrates and a sacred senate chosen.
Here men were dredging harbors, there they laid
The deep foundation of a theatre. (Book I 577 585)
Carthage is a place of progress. Dido s subjects are engaged in building
her city s future political and defense systems. Under Dido s command,
Carthage is to be untyrranical and unconquerable. Dido and her subjects are
creating Carthage s potential future greatness. As Dido is engaged in the
building a great temple planned in Juno s honor, she is initially a pious
Queen who does not forget to make rich offerings to the gods. When Dido
first appears in the work, as she is walking towards her temple, Virgil
compares her to a goddess.
The queen paced toward her

Maya And The Ancient Civilizations
To this day, historians still discuss when exactly the Maya civilizations started but the most
commonly accepted date is 1800 BCE in the Soconusco Region. Unlike other Mesoamerican
civilizations, Maya was not confined to one area of land but rather stretched out over Central
America. To historians today, the Maya civilizationreached its peak during the Classic Period
between AD 250 and 900. At its peak, the Maya population was over 2,000,000 people.
Excavations of Mayan cities have uncovered plazas, temples, pyramids, ball playing courts, and
even art. The peak of this civilization is considered to have occurred when the Mayans started to
carve and produce beautiful low relief steles. The Stele in Figure 1 from the late Classic Maya
period is an example of a low relief stele that the Mayans were so known for. Steles are generally
made from wood or stone and are taller than the average human. They were erected as a
monumental object for either commutative or funerary purposes. In Mesoamerica, the first
steles were first seen from the Olmec s; Mesoamerican civilization that existed between 1200 to
400 BCE. Maya Steles are typically carved in low relief in stone with a base altar; a base that
typically had the name or some sort of offering to the figure in the stele. It was in the peak of the
Mayan civilization, the Classic period, AD 250 900, which the steles were predominantly
employed. The Maya people used steles mainly in the Classic period (AD 250 900) within their peak

Leadership Primer Lessons
I believe that the philosophies described in General Powell s Leadership Primer is generally
applicable to law enforcement as well as the military. Being in a leadership role in a police
department you are forced to take on different roles and adjust your style given different
situations. Therefore, not all principles or Lesson which are described in the primer can be held
true during all situations. These lessons should be looked at as a guide toward leadership and
not be held as gospel or hard fast rules. The reason I believe these lessons apply to law
enforcement is that basic leadership qualities are needed for any organization. The former top
down coercive leadership styles of the military is an antiquated practice. The lessons in this primer

I spent years struggling and fighting to get to the position where I sit now on the organizational
chart at my department. However, the thing which I have learned during that time is that respect
of others is eared and cannot be bestowed on you by another (Daly, 2016). Being a leader does
not always mean that you are the owner of a fancy title, know the most information or have the
ability to recite policies and procedures. The true essence of the leader is showing courage,
tenacity and patience when others lose their cool, having faith in others while taking
responsibility for your own actions and having the ability to listen while being a successful
communicator. As an effective leader, you must lead from the front of the pack and set an
example for those that choose to follow you. Being able to repeatedly demonstrate ones expertise,
job knowledge or interpersonal skills while completing a task or mission in front of your
employees is key. The supervisor who sits behind a desk and rarely gets out with the troops is

My Darling Clementine Essay
The use of mise en scene in John Ford s classic western is very important when it comes to
conveying the meanings and effects in My Darling Clementine . This essay will study the mise en
scene of the film, to explore the meaning of violence and the effects of civilization on the frontier.
The effects of civilization are very apparent in the film, as it seems that Ford has tried to explore
the juxtaposition of civilization and wilderness. Henry Ford s character, Wyatt Earp, an ex
Marshall who is herding cattle west to california with his brothers, acts as a kind of catalyst for the
town s civility. Whilst, himself, transitioning from a rugged westernCowboy to a Town Marshall
who is considered a pillar of the community. Earp, portrayed as the typical western protagonist, ...

Earp stays in the town of Tombstone as a Marshall for personal gain, to avenge his brother, but
eventually becomes more and more civilized as the narrative progresses, navigating the grey
area between good and bad, and frontier wilderness and civilization. This idea of Earp being a
transitional character is represented in many ways via the mise en scene of the film. One of
these ways is how Wyatt Earp is often framed stood in doorways, if one side of the door
represents the wilderness and the other civilization, then to have Earp stood in the doorway may
be representative of the middle ground that he stands on as a transitional character. Ford also uses
doorways throughout the film to blur the lines of which side the wilderness is really on, when the
Earp brother s first arrive in the town of Tombstone, it is represented as wilder and more dangerous
than the frontier. Earp asking himself and others What kind of town is this? as chaos ensues,
depicts Tombstone as not the average western town. The first instance of this depiction comes at the
very beginning of the film, with Wyatt Earp meeting Old Man Clanton out in the frontier. We see

The Current Road Safety Measures
Introduction
There are a myriad of different dangers on any college campus and Ohio State is no different. If
any of these dangers can be minimized or eliminated they should be. Pedestrians on and around
the campus have made complaints about driver speed, and Ohio State wants to know if
pedestrians in the campus area are safe with the current road safety measures. The purpose of this
experiment was to test the speeds of cars on two major roads near Ohio States campus and decide if
these speeds are safe.
The next sections outline the different areas of the experiment. Section 2 describes how this
experiment was carried out and what is necessary to replicate it. Section 3 presents the data
collected by the experiment, and section 4 analyzes the data. Lastly, section 5 summarizes the
experiment and makes suggestions for future experiments and studies.
Experimental Methodology
To determine the speed of the cars a 176ft distance was measured out and the time it took cars to
pass through the area was measured. The time was then recorded on a table of time intervals.
The time intervals fell between 1.33 seconds and 12 seconds. Every time a car s time was
recorded, a tally was placed in the appropriate row. Each row had a 2 mph speed interval, and this
was how the speed of the cars was determined. This table is in the appendix for reference and
further understanding.
Items needed for this experiment include spray paint, a measuring wheel, a stopwatch, a pen, a
clipboard, and the

Sage Research Paper
Sage
Sage is a relative to the mint family. It is common for Sage to be ground, whole or rubbed but is
generally in more of a coarse grain. Sage is grown in the United States but is also grown in
Albania and Dalmatia. Sage is a very popular herb in the United States and is used quite frequently
for flavoring such things s sausage, pork, lamb, and other meats, salads, pickles, cheese, and
stuffing. The smell of Sage is very aromatic and distinct.
Sage loves to hang around in the kitchen with Thyme, Rosemary, and Basil. They work very
well together. Sage is normally one of the main herbs in stuffing for poultry but is often added to
lamb and pork dishes as well. Sage is very strong and should be used sparingly as a little goes a
long way. Sage, like many other herbs develops its full flavor the longer it cooks and withstands
lengthy cooking times which might be why ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Sage is still at its best when dried but if you prefer just simply place the fresh Sage leaves in a
baggie in the freezer and pull them out as required.
Today, Sage has no medicinal purposes to speak of but back in a different time Sage was used
regularly to cure snake bites and was also used to invigorate the body and cleanse the mind. In
the middle ages it was quite common for people to make a Sage tea and drink it for ailments such
as colds, fever, liver trouble, and epilepsy.
Although there is nothing to solidify these claims it is also said that a chewed Sage leaf applied
to a sting or an insect bite will reduce the sting and bring down the swelling. Sage tea has been
said to soothe a sore throat and also help in drying up a mother s breast milk and also reduces
blood clots. Further it has been known to help with itching skin if it is added to hot bath water.

she s the single rose picked out of her Mother s garden and that she has no father, just Hester.
Undoubtedly, Pearl will be lost in the future by feeling betrayed from her Mother. Hester

Why I Dont Drink Tea Culture
Via the legal way, England would not be a tea drinking nation as it is today.
Introduction I don t drink coffee I take tea my dear is the first sentence of a famous song An
English man in New York by the British singer Sting . The whole world sees Britain as a tea
drinking nation. The love between the British people and tea is over a century old. The history of
this love was developed during the British Empire, the colonization of Asian countries and the
establishment of The East Indian Company. The East Indian Company was founded by several
London businessmen cooperating in order to earn money and trade with Asia. East Asian countries
offered Britain trade products which consisted of raw materials like raw silk, cotton, sugar, indigo
and the so beloved tea.
For the first time tea came into Britain during the seventeenth century. This was the influence of a
foreign Portuguese princess, Catherine of Braganza, who was married to the British king Charles
II. Catherine had loved tea since her childhood in Portugal and she was the first to introduce tea to
the English royal court, where it became a major ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
China, were the tea came from, was not interested in any trade with western countries. The situation
continued to be like that until the Portuguese navigators visited China. The Chinese gradually
developed an interest in some of their products, such as firearms, spices and silver. But the British
had nothing to offer. China had no interest in English broadcloth, which was useless in the bitterly
cold northern China. So the Brits had no choice than spending enormous amounts of silver to
purchase their tea leaves. But they couldn t do that much longer. Since the tea was so expensive,
the Brits had no other choice than to start using illegal activities, like smuggling and drugs, to ease
the resulting tremendous trade deficit, at least if they wanted to save their countries economy and
continue importing their favorite beverage,

Recommending Continued Sponsorship of the Posse Ride Essay
Recommending Continued Sponsorship of the Posse Ride
This is to recommend continued sponsorship of the Posse ride. In order to maximize the
effectiveness and profit making potential, I propose the following changes in this program 1)
Repeating successful routes. 2) Involvement of HOG members in route selection. 3) Follow up with
Posse participants
30 days after the completion of events. 4) Creating spontaneity during the ride. 5) Increased
participation of employees on the rides. These new initiatives would help us better understand
customer needs and build long lasting relationship with customers.

Reinforcement of the brand leads to more sales and profits. In addition, it provides our dealers to
generate revenue and sell merchandise at stores.
Currently only 1 in 1,000 members took part in 1999 Posse ride. Repeating successful routes
attracts new riders who have heard stories from other HOG members. Using the same route leads
to greater efficiency and builds better relationship with dealers. We could also utilize the
experience of existing riders in ironing out rough patches on existing routes and building new
routes. This would lead to active participation from members in creating new rallies and
increasing participation as well. We need to follow up with Posse participants after the rally as
well, rather than take a survey immediately after the end of the rally, we should get feedback
after 30 days. This would provide us with candid refection and input for improvement with future
rides. In order to negate the effect of overdose of Posse Rides we should add some creative
spontaneity to each event. This would provide the riders with flair of expecting the unexpected. In
order to understand and gel with the customer I recommend increased involvement of employees in
Posse rides. The involvement should not be from outside but they should actually ride with HOG
members and experience the same feeling. This would enable employees to build lasting
relationship and gather feedback from riders.
Through the Posse Ride we can

Abstract
Purpose The authors posit that audit fees are driven by historical risk factors and risk encountered
in the current period. The purpose of this paper is to focus on historical risk by examining the
incremental effect of material weakness in internal control (MW) identified in prior periods on
current audit fees, after current risk factors are controlled for.

Increased engagement effort due to high risk in ICFR can be passed along to clients through audit
fees. In addition, audit tests cannot uncover all possible material misstatements; as a result, auditors
may add a risk premium to audit fees for risky clients.
Such risk premiums, which compensate the auditors for potential losses associated with high risk
clients, go beyond the incremental fees the auditors may charge for increased audit effort.
Although studies prior to SOX yield mixed results (O Keefe et al., 1994; Felix et al.,
2001), recent studies have found supporting evidence of a contemporaneous positive relationship
between current control risk and current audit fees by using ICDs disclosures under SOX
(Raghunadan and Rama, 2006; Hoitash et al., 2008; Hogan and
Wilkins, 2008; Bedard et al., 2008). Nevertheless, prior studies have not addressed whether control
risk identified in prior periods affects current period audit fees. This is an important question as
generally accepted auditing standards require the auditor to assess the effects of prior ICFR
deficiencies on current period audit procedures and risk assessment. In practice, auditors rely
heavily on past audit results in audit planning for the current period. Thus, past

The Sound of Music is an iconic musical theatre production, produced by Andrew Lloyd Webber,
John Frost, Davis Ian and The Really Useful Group, currently being performed at QPAC in

Going on Seventeen , So Long, Farewell and My Favourite Things .

As the music speeds up so do they and vice versa as it slows. They are constantly moving keeping
the audience engaged, making use of the stage, they dance through the space in a range of ways.
Their moves are always sharp sudden and strong. The scene could have been enhanced by adding
more lighting techniques, to guide the audience through the scene, because it was neutral
throughout the whole scene and only dimmed to signal the end of the musical sequence.
A technique used commonly throughout the play is the use of the choreographic device of a canon,
in scenes that the Von Trapp children dance together. It makes a positive effect and enhances the
quality of the movement that much more. The actors interact with each other in a positive way and
engage with the audience by allowing us to be clear of what is happening with the story line.
Overall, I thought that production had chosen immensely talented cast who had amazing chemistry
with one another which was portrayed during the whole production, through their interactions.

Deportation Analysis
According to the Pew Research Center (2014), in 2013 the Obama Administration deported a total
of 438,421 unauthorized immigrants (Gonzalez Barrera Krogstad, 2014). These deportations were
expounded upon certain races and unauthorized immigrants of specific ethnic background. More
and more Americans want stricter immigrationlaws and fewer outsiders who are not native born out
of the United states. By ensuing prejudice throughout the nation, deportation is as form of
discrimination.
Deportation, like discrimination, excludes people of a specific race, religion, or ethnic background.
Deportation categorizes the immigrant via visa status, with ethnicity, race or religion. Patrick

Research Paper On Catullus
Catullus was a well know poet. His full name is Gaius Valerius Catullus. In Verona,Italy he was
born 84 bce and he died 54 bce in Rome. He lived most of his life in Rome. His expressions of
love and hatred are typically known for the most excellent lyric poetry of ancient Rome. In about
twenty five of his poems he talks about his love for a woman that he calls Lesbia. Other poems
written by him are often slanderous outbursts of disrespect or hatred for Julius Caesarand less
important personages. He came from a middle class family that was from Verona in the north side
of Italy. He went early to Rome with the same eagerness with which everyone of importance in
twentieth century American literature went first to New York and then next to Paris. The ever
changing life of The City was perfect for his charged nature. We know a lot about his life and his
ties with Caesar, Cicero, and most importantly Clodia. Catullusdied at thirty three years old. He
left a small amount of writings which adds up to a little less than eighty pages. But into this small
range he introduces love, hate, curls his lips at the rich and titled. He was from an upper class
background. He was experienced in city ways and interested in what the new Alexandrian poets in

However, I could not be bothered dealing with her since I did not have my breakie this morning

Racial Disparities And Discrimination In Boyz In The Hood
Discrimination has created racial disparities and segregation; as a result, many neighborhoods that
have been labeled as the hood have primarily black residents. Unfortunately, children born into these
neighborhoods suffer a predisposition to violence, drugs, and gang affiliation due to patterns of
violenceand the lack of adequate resources. The movie Boyz in the Hood portrays the struggles
experienced by young black men as they grow up in the ghetto of Los Angeles. This movie
accurately depicts the patterns of violence and crime, lack of adequate resources, and government
corruption found within many poor, segregated neighborhoods.
A battlefield of violence and crime exists among segregated neighborhoods, especially for young
black men. According to the movie, 1 out of every 21 black American males will be murdered in
their lifetime. Within these neighborhoods, people are consumed by poverty and hatred which
results in an ongoing cycle of violence among the members of the community. Even young
children are exposed to violence and crime, and many of them participate in criminal behavior.
In the beginning of the movie, a group of ten year old children were walking through their
neighborhood and witnessed an area where a man was shot. One of the boys said I m not afraid
to get shot, both my brothers are shot and they still alive . According to an article by Zimmerman

1.Explain the strengths and weaknesses of Singapore s national innovation system.
After gaining political independence from Malaysia in 1965, Singapore experienced a phase of
rapid industrialization based on export oriented manufacturing by foreign MNCs. The approach
was to offer MNCs favourable conditions to locate in Singapore, with a view to increase overall
skills and technological capabilities. Singapore sought to build its science and technology resources
through the transfer of manufacturing technologies embedded in MNCs and foreign direct
investments (FDI). The local skill base was also developed through learning by using techniques
among workers and technicians employed by these foreign MNCs. Thus Singapore followed a

One important issue is the relative underdevelopment in local technological and marketing
capability. The success of a national innovation system depends on the effectiveness of two things:
(i) the deployment of new technologies and (ii) the development or creation of new technologies.
The dependent strategy has led Singapore to focus more on the deployment and diffusion of
technology by leveraging on large foreign high tech MNCs, rather than fostering technological
development by local enterprises. The development of new technology in the MNC headquarters
and its transfer to their subsidiaries in Singapore has only been a major source of technological
upgrading in Singapore, rather than indigenous research and development. (Wong, 2000).
According to Low (2000), the innovative capacity and culture of Singapore had to be nourished,
apart from the efforts of the government in creating a conducive business environment
Developing the national innovation system using the dependent strategy can shift the government s
focus to creating more incentives for MNCs, rather than the domestic firms. Local small and
medium enterprises (SMEs) with some amount of entrepreneurial risk taking capabilities become
overshadowed by MNCs and Government Linked companies (GLCs). This creates a credibility
gap when obtaining financial assistance schemes. Efforts must be made to ensure that these private
local SMEs are not dwarfed by the MNCs and

For example, regulated utilities will lend themselves more naturally to a Buy and Maintain
portfolio than the more volatile technology sector. This is because every business cycle is
different, and so are the relative performance patterns among sectors. Using a disciplined approach,
it is possible to construct a resilient portfolio in each environment and through every phase of every
business cycle and that offers strong full phase average performance over its lifetime. Sector
selection There are four main phases to a normal market cycle. The recovery phase often sees strong
growth, low interest rates and growth in corporate profits. Sectors sensitive to interest rates and to
economic growth such as financials, industrials, information technology, and materials should do
well. In the middle phase of the cycle, positive GDP growth, strong credit growth and healthy
corporate profitability tends to still favor more economically sensitive sectors, such as information
technology and industrials. In contrast, later in the cycle, building inflationary pressures have often
favored the energy and materials sectors, which benefit from rising commodity prices. Defensive

Masculinity In The Sun Also Rises By Ernest Hemingway
Ernest Hemingway s classic historical fiction novel The Sun Also Rises comprises an eventful
timeline: bullfighting, fishing trips, male friendship, disguised alcoholism, and the differences
between femininity and masculinity and how they overlap. . His 1926 novel about members of an
expatriate friend group and one pivotal fiesta in Spain portrays a story rife with unrequited love,
symbolism, and metaphors for the Lost Generation in Europe. However, the way Hemingway
focuses on masculinityand femininityinterplaying with each other and contrasts the effects of the
two on all characters and story stands out to the audience. Most of the feminine aura in the novel
doesn t even come from women. In general, Hemingway does not involve women much in his
novels. Notably, the first woman, Frances, introduced in the book is immediately made into an
unsympathetic hag like devil wife who berates and verbally abuses Robert Cohn, her unwilling
husband. After a certain amount of time, her character is written out of the novel as she vaguely
le[aves] for England (Hemingway 77). Lady Brett Ashley, the main woman of the novel, does not
exude femininity either, with her boyish haircut and mannerisms. Even though she is married to a
Lord, literally making her a Lady, she bends the early 20th centuries rules for the genders and is in
fact only mentioned by her title about a dozen times in the novel; the occasional reminder to the
audience that despite her erratic and impulsive behavior, she

Design Score affect the participant Clinical Judgment Score? My hypothesis is that as the
Simulation Design Score increases the participant?s Clinical Judgment Score will also increase.
Therefore concluding the better the design of the simulation experience the better the participant
will learn clinical judgement skills. If the variables are positively correlated, as the Simulation
Design Scores increases the participants? Clinical Judgment Scores will increase. If the variables
are negatively correlated, as the Simulation Design Scores increase the participants? Clinical
Judgment Scores would decrease. If Clinical Judgment Scores do not react consistently in relation
to Simulation Design Scores, they are either non linear or are not correlated. 2.???????How does

The hygienist uses a small mirror and a dental probe or explorer to check around your teeth and

of the gums,) periodontal disease (disease of the gums,) and/or oral cancer. Prior to getting this
done, the hygienist goes over your medical history, taking notes about any heart problems, diabetes,

Once the hygienist removes the larger pieces of tartar, they will switch to a hand instrument called

smaller pieces of tartar and plaque. Each tooth is done individually to ensure that all bacteria,

The interwar period was perhaps the most lethal, with multiple fascist uprisings in Europe, and
with them the rise of sports, especially football, as a political tool. Benito Mussolini capitalized
on the fact that the 1934 World Cup was to take place in Italy, by drawing on the athletic imagery
of the Roman Empire, where Mussolini himself chose the referees for each game, culminating in
the Italians bringing the trophy home that year (Duffy, 2003). Jules Rimet, president of FIFA,

they were needed to move military supplies and soldiers, and second, that there was a limit of
only 8,000 people per stadium due to threats of Nazi bombardments (Whitlock, 2016).
Nevertheless, the FA managed to put together several regional leagues across the country that
evaded these restrictions and solved the problem of many footballers themselves being drafted into
military service. This was difficult in itself, however, because after the Luftwaffe s first bombing

This paper offers exploratory insights into the ways in which environmental factors influence the

Research Question
Although a big part of German exports consist of low technology products, almost all research
about factors influencing internationalisation of new ventures, has been done focusing on
companies that operate in the high technology industry. The environment in which these firms
operate is very different from the environment in which low technology firms operate. High
technology firms face high R D costs, short product life cycles and mostly operate in niche markets
(Knight Cavusgill, 2004). These conditions are very different for low tech firms (Evers, 2010).
Here, R D costs and product life cycles play no significant role. Since studies about new venture
internationalisation are so heavily grounded in the high tech sector, little is known about the factors
that affect the internationalisation of firms in the low tech sector. This raises the possibility that
past findings do not generalize equally well to all economic sectors (Zahra George, 2002).
Furthermore, little research has been done about how environmental factors influence new venture
internationalisation, and more research is necessary to find out how these factors influence early
internationalisation (Fernhaber, 2007). Environmental factors are factors that a firm cannot control,
and that are part of the external environment they operate in (Zou and Stan, 1998). These factors
can have a significant push and pull effect on new ventures to internationalise

Meursault s Existentialism
The Stranger by Albert Camus, is the story of a detached but ordinary man named Meursault.
With a girlfriend and a job, Meursault leads a average life. However after he murders a man on a
beach, he is questioned in court about not only his murder but his lack of emotion and grief during
his mother s funeral. The ideas of existentialismare reflected through Meursault s relationship with
Marie, his experience in the prison, and arguments with the priest.
There are several life changing events in Meursault s life where he shows an existentialist
personality. Upon returning from the store, Meursault walks into his home, sees Maire and says A
minute later she asked me if I loved her. I told her it didn t mean anything but that I didn t think so

Over the course of the last two decades, intelligence led policing has made a major impact on law
enforcement. As its usage has emerged, two sides have formed regarding the implementation of
this controversial technology. Proponents of this strategy, including law enforcement agencies and

of the technology claim that policing tactics such as predictive algorithms and hotspot monitoring

In an article by Sidney Perkowitz, titled Should we trust predictive policing software to cut crime?
, Perkowitz questions the integrity of predictive technology and its effect on crime. She mentions
that PredPol is one of the only software companies that currently reports comprehensive statistics
regarding their effect on crime. Nevertheless, while the numbers reported by the company present
its software as a success in cities like Los Angeles, the information is generated by the company
itself and is therefore unreliable. In cities like Chicago, where independent studies have been
conducted, the results were not as promising. The results showed that the software did not reduce
the number of homicides committed, nor did it lower the chances of shooting victimization.
Additionally, similar studies in Shreveport, Louisiana have concluded that the software currently
being used is not having a significant effect on the property crime rate (Perkowitz, 2016).
Perkowitz is insisting that there is not enough evidence to back the effectiveness of predictive
software in reducing crime rates. In addition, because of the cases in which predictive software did
not affect crime, positive trends in cities like Los Angeles are not representative of the rest of the

Cold War Summary
In the 1940s, the Cold War Era emerged in which the world had to choose between democracy and
communism. Winston Churchill s famous speech about the Iron Curtain divided Eastern and
Western Europe and encouraged the resistance and containment of communism. Americans fear,
doubt, and conflict with communismintensified when McCarthy accused them of being communists
without evidence. This threat, whether real or imagined, profoundly impacted Americans which
prompted the hunt for communists.
Individuals on the government level and the local level worked to eradicate communists. The
country assumed that individuals, ...who subscribed to the Daily Worker, helped organize a left
wing union, bought insurance from the International Workers Order, and urged the United Statesto
keep out of war in 1940... belonged to the Communists party. Consequently, Truman created the
federal government s loyalty security program under Executive Order 9835. This program led
employers to fire thousands of people for alleged information and miniscule matters.
Individuals associated the actions of advocates for workers rights, including unions, to communism.
Thus, the country created the Taft Hartley Act, Port Security Program, and so on to protect the
county. According to Senator Warren Magnuson, Some of the last stronghold of the Communist

While in college he organized Disco Dandiya in his own locality first of its kind in south
Mumbai. It was first popular trend that he picked on early and was able to capitalize on it. So as
one grows and starts to learn and understand life, he starts to question as well. At a very early
stage, one starts creating mental models to interpret various observations. At that point if one
finds that what he has learnt on his own is different from what is being practiced in reality. He
tries to distinguish the right from the wrong. He soon starts to seek answer to everything and
then life transforms. So attitude of questioning is very important. Until one questions the
establish way of doing things, one won t be able to come up with something new. Thus he left
his family business and started his own journey entrepreneurial journey..... He kept looking for
beachheads to realize his dreams. He tried multiple things that could be ideal for new India that
was emerging. 3. DREAM OF THE LEADER His dream was to make a place on a simple idea:
Rewrite rules, retain values. His fundamental belief created a new kind of marketplace, forever
transforming Indian retail. Today his core values continue to guide how he does business and

The receiving coil was connected in parallel to the coupling capacitors of 100nF. These capacitors
helps the coils to improve coupling co efficient.
Fig 4 Receiving end In fig. 4, the AC signal from the coil is passed through a Cockroft Walton
(CW) voltage multiplier. A CW multiplier generates a high DC voltage from a low voltage AC.
Hence, it can rectify the received AC voltage, as well as, step up the relatively low voltage. This is
a classic multistage diode/capacitor voltage multiplier, which is economically efficient at the same
time. The stages can be increased or decreased with ease to get desired output. The final voltage

Very high resistance value is required to attain the 5V DC output using this regulator. Although,
similar topologies using MAX756 or MAX757 IC might be an optimum solution to this problem.
It steps up voltage within 0.7V 5.5V to 2.7V 5.5V [11]. MAX757 can be adjustment according to
the requirement, whereas MAX756 gives fixed 5V DC output.
Fig 7 A 5V DC boost regulator using MAX757 IC In future, this system can be built within the
phones and thus no external device will be required to enjoy its service. The coil can be built using
PCB boards which can be installed within the mobile phones. Two such phones will then be able to
share the power within them using this technology.
VIII. CONCLUSION In this paper, we have described a mechanism to transfer a low power DC
voltage from one mobile to another for the purpose of charging the phone. We have dealt with
coupling coils and their resonance. Colpitts Oscillator, Full Bridge Rectifier and Voltage Regulator
circuits have been implemented. This project gives us a new and convenient option of recharging
our phones at times when charging from a phone remains the only option because of the lack of
having proper charging outlets. This simple idea is a feasible and inexpensive one for mobile

Ergotism in The Salem Witch Trials
Ergotism in Salem
The Salem Witch Trials were a horrendous event in the history of America and was the first of its
kind. A question that has risen up numerous times is what was the actual cause of the trials. We
know that a few girls made the first accusations, but why. I will now explain how Salem became
one of the most notorious towns in Massachusetts. Ergot poisoning was the cause for the witch
trials as it caused the girls to become crazed and delirious.
First you may ask yourself what exactly is Ergot poisoning. Ergot is a fungal disease of rye that
grows in the ear of the Cereal. Early colonists reported that they were dissatisfied with the common
grass as it made their cattle ill.Ergot was first medically reported only a few years before the trials.
This means that ergotism was a relevant disease at the time of the trials. You can acquire ergot
poisoning simply by eating contaminated bread therefore the girls would not know that they were
being poisoned. Ergotism Symptoms include crawling sensation in the skin and tingling in the
fingers, vertigo, headaches, disturbances in sensation, painful muscular contractions leading to
convulsions and vomiting. A few of the mental disturbances include mania, melancholia, psychosis,
and delirium.(Caporeal 23)The accusers may have lost their minds to this awful disease. The biting,
pinching, and pricking with pins may allude to the crawling sensations under the skin experienced
by ergotism victims.(caporeal 25)

How Does Shakespeare Use Racial Prejudice In Othello
More than Jealousy and Love: Othello
While reading any literary work, there are lots of conceptions that you have to consider, even if
the genre of it is romantic or comedy, it might have all kinds of hidden things. You have to have
an open mind to see all that. Reading can be an opening for the mind to see how people used to
live and how they are living now. Othello one of the most interesting plays that talk about very
important issues, like love of course, racial prejudice, and being an outsider.
Reading Shakespeare s plays give us the right to see how things were going on in the past.
Through his plays we see the comedy side and how that was; also we see love, hate, jealousy and
tragedy. Othello is one of Shakespeare unique ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many characters also exhibit hatred of women, or misogyny. And also in many times, Othello s age
is a reason for insulting him. In other words, prejudice works as a kind of strategy to identify
outsiders who frighten them. Othello at the end of the play tries to use religious prejudice against
Muslims to attach his place within mainstream Christian Venetian society (http:/www.litcharts.com

age and that s what made him get jealous, he thought that Desdemona did not love him because of
the previous reasons and with Iago s manipulative mind he succeeded to get into Othello s mind

High Fuctose Corn Syrup Research Paper
High Fructose Corn Syrup: Why You re Getting Fat Did you know that High Fructose Corn
Syrup (HFCS) accounts for over half of the artificial sweeteners used in the United States today?
Although it is loved by big food companies due to its extended shelf life and cheap production, is
it the healthiest option for the consumer? This is a widespread question that has been asked in the
United States since the invention of HFCS in the 1960s. This artificial sweetener is rumored to
increase one s chances of obesity, high cholesterol, etc. Due to the health risks linked to HFCS it is
adamant that people in the United States greatly reduce the intake of this sweetener. This can be
accomplished with three solutions, being, by simply raising general awareness about the health
risks associated with HFCS, having stricter regulations on artificial sweeteners, or by lowering the
tariffs on imported natural sugar.
Firstly, it is very important to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The people of the United States trust the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to
regulate what goes into our food and keep us safe. The FDA is partially credible for the overuse of
High Fructose Corn Syrup. Because of the government s loose definition on what is all natural ,
these big companies are able to mislead consumers by advertising their green , healthy , all natural
products to naive customers that fail to read the nutrition label. Customers often think they are
making a smart health choice, and perhaps even pay more for a bottle that has all natural
plastered all over the front of it. If the FDA would set stricter rules on how much artificial
sweeteners can be used and how it must be advertised, these problems, including obesity, that may
be caused by artificial sweeteners would be greatly

The History of Bosnia
The history of Bosnia was full of violence, anger and war. Bosnia was once the epicenter of
former Yugoslavia. The state of Bosnia dates back to the Second Century and was quite different
from current Bosnia. Second Century Bosnia consisted of Latin speaking settlers from Roman
Empire and they were also Christians. (History of Bosnia and Herzegovina). The first ruler of
Bosnia, in the high middle ages, was Ban Boric. The second ruler was Ban Kulin and he ruled in
the late 1100 s. Ban Kulin was a well respected leader who ruled for three decades by keeping the
peace and stability within the state. He was able to strengthen the economy by signing treaties with
Venice and Dubrovnik. (History of Bosnia and Herzegovina)
After Kulin s ruling, Bosnia was taken over by Ottoman. Although Ottoman took Bosnia over, they
preserved the Bosnian identity within the culture. Ottoman ruled from 1463 1878. At this time, the
population was deeply affected because of frequent wars with European powers and there were
high rates of migration. Also at this time Islam was the largest ethnic group due to the high rise of
conversions to Islam. Due to the rise of Islam conversion, the population rate of Catholicism went
down. In 1875, the Ottoman Empire fell because of the Herzegovinian Rebellion and the uprising
of peasants. Because of these events and the Treaty of Berlin, the Ottomans were forced to give
control over to Austria Hungary. (History of Bosnia and

How Did Gandhi Impact The Civil Rights Movement
Mahatma Gandhi is renowned all over the world for his nonviolent philosophies and impact upon
civil rights. He was the primary leader of India s move towards independence. Gandhi engineered
a form of non violent protest that would influence the world. He was born on 2nd October, 1869, in
Porbandar, India. Gandhi studied law and advocated for the civil rights of Indians, and influenced
many civil rights movements. Even after his death, Gandhi s actions inspired future civil rights
movements around the globe. He most notably impacted, civil rights movements in three regions of
the world; South Africa, India and America.
The South African civil rights movement, was greatly impacted upon by Gandhi. After
becoming a legal barrister in England, he accepted a yearlong contract from an Indian firm, to a
post in the Colony of Natal, South Africa. Gandhi was horrified by the racism and prejudice he
experienced as an Indian immigrant in South Africa. On a train voyage to Pretoria, Gandhi was
beaten by a Caucasian stagecoach driver and thrown out of a first class railway compartment. This
was because he refused to give up his seat for a European passenger. That... Show more content on

Project Estimating and Control Techniques

Project Estimating
Cost management planning happens early on in the project planning phase and should be refined
throughout the project s life cycle as additional details become available. The project s cost
management plan sets the framework for all of the project s cost management processes. The
accuracy of estimating a project s cost is essential to the successful or failure of the project. This
makes choosing the right estimating techniques crucial for a project. Expert judgment provides an
insight to past experiences, environments, and historical information from past similar projects.
This information is compared and analyzed against ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Bottom up estimating can be used when individual work packages or activity segments of the
project need to be estimated. Bottom up estimating takes the detailed costs and then rolls those cost
details up to a higher level activity segment or work package (Project Management Institute, 2008).
An example of this would be estimating all the resources and facility costs and rolling the
information up into the overall project estimate.
Three point estimating takes a single point activity and use probability distribution to approximate
what can happen in the future. This technique takes uncertainties and risks into consideration and is
considered a more accurate technique as the three points clarify and determine the risk level or
range of uncertainty for the cost estimate (Project Management Institute, 2008).
Determining the most appropriate estimating technique for the project is important. Choosing the
right technique depends on the amount of information you have from past similar projects, and the
information you have regarding the current project, such as scope baseline, project schedule, human
resource plan, risk register, enterprise environmental factors, and organizational process assets
(Project Management Institute, 2008). It is also important to know how much time and money the

A lot of produce may be used for your juicing because it helps extract vital minerals and vitamins,
along with giving a variety of delicious healthy beverages. Fresh juice will provide you with the

Fresh juice is one of the most delightful healthy treats.
Treat your juice like a meal. A single glass of juice can really contain quite a bit of food. When
you drink a glass of juice on its own, the nutrients will be absorbed into the bloodstream a lot
quicker.

The Importance Of Biblical And Historical Allusions In...
Allusions can influence the text in a variety of ways. Biblical and historical allusions are often the
most recognizable in literature and can have a variety of impact. Biblical and historical allusions
create an embellishment of imagery, characterization, and the manifestation of government. An
emphasis seen through allusions is in how imagery is portrayed. Bubbly Creek is described as
being constantly in motion, as if huge fish were feeding in it, or great leviathans disporting
themselves in its depths (pg 94). Sinclair used a biblical allusionto demonstrate imagery using a
leviathan, which is enormous monster first mentioned in later part of the book of Job in The Bible.
The leviathan is enormous and has an indescribable amount of strength and can penetrate a
double layer of armor. The contents of Bubbly Creek have an equivalency of a leviathan, which
shows how much power Bubbly Creek possesses; as well as how nothing else could ever equate
to it in size and its unrestrained moves. Another biblical allusion that Sinclair alludes to is the
Egyptian plague of flies in the book of Exodus and with the hot weather descended upon
Packingtown a veritable Egyptian plague of flies; there could be no describing this the houses
would be black with them (pg 104). Sinclair uses this allusion to exemplify how horrid the
conditions were in Packingtown, the plague of flies in The Bible is described as being so dense in
the Pharaoh s palace and the rest of Egypt was covered and

Cultural Assimilation In Things Fall Apart
How can staying true to one s culture benefit them? More often than not, cultural assimilation is
seen as a consequence of migration. And the introduction of the Europeans into the Ibo society is
no different, although in this case, it was more beneficial than detrimental to the Ibo. Enoch, a
character in Chinua Achebe s Things Fall Apart accepts the Western ideas, and changes when his
identity is tested, which evinces that a change in culturehas potential to be advantageous. To begin,
Enoch s response to the conflicting European culture turned out to be positive. One way his
response is empathetic is his acceptance of the new religion. In the novel, this is shown when the
narrator explains, These outcasts, or osu, seeing that the new religion welcomed twins and other
such abominations, thought that it was possible that they would be received (Achebe 155). Enoch
s acceptance of the new religion gave him the chance to start over. Another way Enoch s response
is positive is his willingness to learn and help others grow. The Europeans encouraged the Ibo to
learn their ways, not only in religion but also education. The narrator process this by... Show more

Analysis Of The Boy Died In My Alley
Published first during the decade of the 1990s The Boy Died in My Alley remains a significant
poem of Gwendolyn Brooks as she moves from traditional forms of poetry such as sonnets,
ballads to the most unrestrictive free verse and includes the sad rhythm of the blues. This poem
offers an amazing juxtaposition of dramatic poetic forms, narrative, and lyric (Guth Rico). The
story is most often simple but with the last line, they transcend the restriction of place and cover
universal plight. Most often the characters of the people are memorable only due to fact that they
are trying to survive the trials and tribulations of daily living. For example, in the poem, The Boy
Died in My Alley , the author narrates an incident when a black boy is murdered in her back alley
and the policeman asks her whether she has heard the shot. As she was passionate about the bad
experiences of black community in the United States, her poetryis mainly about their plight in the
society (Guth Rico). The main focus of the poem, The Boy Died in My Alley is to study and
analyze the reasons behind the violence that is associated with African American children who live
on the street.
Like her other poems, the story of the poem, The Boy Died in My Alley is very simple, but the
narrator gradually narrows down the incident described in the poem to the general plight of the
black children who live on the street. The poem starts when a policeman informs poet about a
black boy who was shot behind

  • 2. Orange Damnation Of The Vietnam s Orange Damnation Vietnam s Orange Damnation In recent history, there has been an abundance of chemical warfare that caused harm to society, nature, and immeasurable damage post war. To be more specific, the Vietnam war was one of the most noticeable conflicts that was destructive to both parties involved through chemical warfare, not only to the soldiers but also the environment. During the 1960s through to current day, the chemical pollution of the many mangrove forests near local villages led to health problems for the local Vietnamese people and the American soldiers. Located in Vietnam, mangrove forest was one of the main sources of vegetation for enemy soldiers during the war. To decrease enemy morale, the chemical herbicide, known as Agent Orange, was made by the U.S. to poison their crops and starve the enemy troops. The highly potent Agent Orange created many unintended problems for the locals as well as the troops because of the catastrophic damages to the landscape and continues to affect the locals to this day. For example, polluted crops and farm lands, Bio accumulation of Agent orange, and chronic medical problems. During the Vietnam war, the American government used several dangerous herbicides, the most controversial was known as Agent Orange due to its harsh impact the environment. • 3. Dido and Camilla Dido and Camilla Leaders Blinded by their Passions in the Aeneid In Book I of Virgil s Aeneid, Aeneas observes a depiction of the female warrior, Penthesilea, on the walls of Dido s temple. As Aeneas is looking at this portrait, Dido enters the temple. Later in Book XI, as Camilla walks through the carnage of battle, she is likened to an image of Penthesilea returning home victorious. Virgil presents many such similarities in his portrayals of Dido and Camilla because it is through them, the only two female leaders in his work, that he illustrates the destinies of rulers who fall victim to their passions. To Virgil, a great leader is one who practices restraint, represses all passions, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... She also had commanding power. Venus describes how Dido was the captain of the entire escape venture. Thus, it is Dido who is behind the founding of Carthage, a nation hard to fight against in war. (I, 463) From a ridge above the city, Aeneas observes Dido s Carthage for the first time: Marvelous buildings, gateways, cobbled ways, And din of wagons. There the Tyrians Were hard at work: laying courses for walls, Rolling up stones to build the citadel, While others picked out buildings sites and plowed A boundary furrow. • 5. Maya And The Ancient Civilizations To this day, historians still discuss when exactly the Maya civilizations started but the most commonly accepted date is 1800 BCE in the Soconusco Region. Unlike other Mesoamerican civilizations, Maya was not confined to one area of land but rather stretched out over Central America. To historians today, the Maya civilizationreached its peak during the Classic Period between AD 250 and 900. At its peak, the Maya population was over 2,000,000 people. Excavations of Mayan cities have uncovered plazas, temples, pyramids, ball playing courts, and even art. The peak of this civilization is considered to have occurred when the Mayans started to carve and produce beautiful low relief steles. The Stele in Figure 1 from the late Classic Maya period is an example of a low relief stele that the Mayans were so known for. Steles are generally made from wood or stone and are taller than the average human. They were erected as a monumental object for either commutative or funerary purposes. In Mesoamerica, the first steles were first seen from the Olmec s; Mesoamerican civilization that existed between 1200 to 400 BCE. Maya Steles are typically carved in low relief in stone with a base altar; a base that typically had the name or some sort of offering to the figure in the stele. It was in the peak of the Mayan civilization, the Classic period, AD 250 900, which the steles were predominantly employed. The Maya people used steles mainly in the Classic period (AD 250 900) within their peak ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Leadership Primer Lessons I believe that the philosophies described in General Powell s Leadership Primer is generally applicable to law enforcement as well as the military. Being in a leadership role in a police department you are forced to take on different roles and adjust your style given different situations. Therefore, not all principles or Lesson which are described in the primer can be held true during all situations. These lessons should be looked at as a guide toward leadership and not be held as gospel or hard fast rules. The reason I believe these lessons apply to law enforcement is that basic leadership qualities are needed for any organization. The former top down coercive leadership styles of the military is an antiquated practice. The lessons in this primer show a more fluid and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I spent years struggling and fighting to get to the position where I sit now on the organizational chart at my department. However, the thing which I have learned during that time is that respect of others is eared and cannot be bestowed on you by another (Daly, 2016). Being a leader does not always mean that you are the owner of a fancy title, know the most information or have the ability to recite policies and procedures. The true essence of the leader is showing courage, tenacity and patience when others lose their cool, having faith in others while taking responsibility for your own actions and having the ability to listen while being a successful communicator. As an effective leader, you must lead from the front of the pack and set an example for those that choose to follow you. Being able to repeatedly demonstrate ones expertise, job knowledge or interpersonal skills while completing a task or mission in front of your employees is key. • 7. My Darling Clementine Essay The use of mise en scene in John Ford s classic western is very important when it comes to conveying the meanings and effects in My Darling Clementine . This essay will study the mise en scene of the film, to explore the meaning of violence and the effects of civilization on the frontier. The effects of civilization are very apparent in the film, as it seems that Ford has tried to explore the juxtaposition of civilization and wilderness. Henry Ford s character, Wyatt Earp, an ex Marshall who is herding cattle west to california with his brothers, acts as a kind of catalyst for the town s civility. Whilst, himself, transitioning from a rugged westernCowboy to a Town Marshall who is considered a pillar of the community. Earp, portrayed as the typical western protagonist, ... Earp stays in the town of Tombstone as a Marshall for personal gain, to avenge his brother, but eventually becomes more and more civilized as the narrative progresses, navigating the grey area between good and bad, and frontier wilderness and civilization. This idea of Earp being a transitional character is represented in many ways via the mise en scene of the film. One of these ways is how Wyatt Earp is often framed stood in doorways, if one side of the door represents the wilderness and the other civilization, then to have Earp stood in the doorway may be representative of the middle ground that he stands on as a transitional character. Ford also uses doorways throughout the film to blur the lines of which side the wilderness is really on, when the Earp brother s first arrive in the town of Tombstone, it is represented as wilder and more dangerous than the frontier. Earp asking himself and others What kind of town is this? as chaos ensues, depicts Tombstone as not the average western town. The first instance of this depiction comes at the very beginning of the film, with Wyatt Earp meeting Old Man Clanton out in the frontier. We see the Earp brothers on ... If any of these dangers can be minimized or eliminated they should be. Pedestrians on and around the campus have made complaints about driver speed, and Ohio State wants to know if pedestrians in the campus area are safe with the current road safety measures. The purpose of this experiment was to test the speeds of cars on two major roads near Ohio States campus and decide if these speeds are safe. The next sections outline the different areas of the experiment. Section 2 describes how this experiment was carried out and what is necessary to replicate it. Section 3 presents the data collected by the experiment, and section 4 analyzes the data. Lastly, section 5 summarizes the experiment and makes suggestions for future experiments and studies. Experimental Methodology To determine the speed of the cars a 176ft distance was measured out and the time it took cars to pass through the area was measured. The time was then recorded on a table of time intervals. The time intervals fell between 1.33 seconds and 12 seconds. Every time a car s time was recorded, a tally was placed in the appropriate row. Each row had a 2 mph speed interval, and this was how the speed of the cars was determined. This table is in the appendix for reference and further understanding. • 13. Why I Dont Drink Tea Culture Via the legal way, England would not be a tea drinking nation as it is today. Introduction I don t drink coffee I take tea my dear is the first sentence of a famous song An English man in New York by the British singer Sting . The whole world sees Britain as a tea drinking nation. The love between the British people and tea is over a century old. The history of this love was developed during the British Empire, the colonization of Asian countries and the establishment of The East Indian Company. The East Indian Company was founded by several London businessmen cooperating in order to earn money and trade with Asia. East Asian countries offered Britain trade products which consisted of raw materials like raw silk, cotton, sugar, indigo and the so beloved tea. For the first time tea came into Britain during the seventeenth century. This was the influence of a foreign Portuguese princess, Catherine of Braganza, who was married to the British king Charles II. China, were the tea came from, was not interested in any trade with western countries. The situation continued to be like that until the Portuguese navigators visited China. The Chinese gradually developed an interest in some of their products, such as firearms, spices and silver. But the British had nothing to offer. China had no interest in English broadcloth, which was useless in the bitterly cold northern China. So the Brits had no choice than spending enormous amounts of silver to purchase their tea leaves. But they couldn t do that much longer. Using the same route leads to greater efficiency and builds better relationship with dealers. We could also utilize the experience of existing riders in ironing out rough patches on existing routes and building new routes. This would lead to active participation from members in creating new rallies and increasing participation as well. We need to follow up with Posse participants after the rally as well, rather than take a survey immediately after the end of the rally, we should get feedback after 30 days. This would provide us with candid refection and input for improvement with future rides. In order to negate the effect of overdose of Posse Rides we should add some creative spontaneity to each event. This would provide the riders with flair of expecting the unexpected. In order to understand and gel with the customer I recommend increased involvement of employees in Posse rides. In addition, audit tests cannot uncover all possible material misstatements; as a result, auditors may add a risk premium to audit fees for risky clients. Such risk premiums, which compensate the auditors for potential losses associated with high risk clients, go beyond the incremental fees the auditors may charge for increased audit effort. Although studies prior to SOX yield mixed results (O Keefe et al., 1994; Felix et al., 2001), recent studies have found supporting evidence of a contemporaneous positive relationship between current control risk and current audit fees by using ICDs disclosures under SOX (Raghunadan and Rama, 2006; Hoitash et al., 2008; Hogan and Wilkins, 2008; Bedard et al., 2008). Nevertheless, prior studies have not addressed whether control risk identiп¬Ѓed in prior periods affects current period audit fees. This is an important question as generally accepted auditing standards require the auditor to assess the effects of prior ICFR deп¬Ѓciencies on current period audit procedures and risk assessment. After gaining political independence from Malaysia in 1965, Singapore experienced a phase of rapid industrialization based on export oriented manufacturing by foreign MNCs. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One important issue is the relative underdevelopment in local technological and marketing capability. The success of a national innovation system depends on the effectiveness of two things: (i) the deployment of new technologies and (ii) the development or creation of new technologies. The dependent strategy has led Singapore to focus more on the deployment and diffusion of technology by leveraging on large foreign high tech MNCs, rather than fostering technological development by local enterprises. The development of new technology in the MNC headquarters and its transfer to their subsidiaries in Singapore has only been a major source of technological upgrading in Singapore, rather than indigenous research and development. (Wong, 2000). According to Low (2000), the innovative capacity and culture of Singapore had to be nourished, apart from the efforts of the government in creating a conducive business environment Developing the national innovation system using the dependent strategy can shift the government s focus to creating more incentives for MNCs, rather than the domestic firms. Masculinity In The Sun Also Rises By Ernest Hemingway Ernest Hemingway s classic historical fiction novel The Sun Also Rises comprises an eventful timeline: bullfighting, fishing trips, male friendship, disguised alcoholism, and the differences between femininity and masculinity and how they overlap. . His 1926 novel about members of an expatriate friend group and one pivotal fiesta in Spain portrays a story rife with unrequited love, symbolism, and metaphors for the Lost Generation in Europe. However, the way Hemingway focuses on masculinityand femininityinterplaying with each other and contrasts the effects of the two on all characters and story stands out to the audience. Most of the feminine aura in the novel doesn t even come from women. In general, Hemingway does not involve women much in his novels. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 518). Research Question Although a big part of German exports consist of low technology products, almost all research about factors influencing internationalisation of new ventures, has been done focusing on companies that operate in the high technology industry. The environment in which these firms operate is very different from the environment in which low technology firms operate. High technology firms face high R D costs, short product life cycles and mostly operate in niche markets (Knight Cavusgill, 2004). These conditions are very different for low tech firms (Evers, 2010). Here, R D costs and product life cycles play no significant role. Since studies about new venture internationalisation are so heavily grounded in the high tech sector, little is known about the factors that affect the internationalisation of firms in the low tech sector. This raises the possibility that past findings do not generalize equally well to all economic sectors (Zahra George, 2002). Furthermore, little research has been done about how environmental factors influence new venture internationalisation, and more research is necessary to find out how these factors influence early internationalisation (Fernhaber, 2007). Environmental factors are factors that a firm cannot control, and that are part of the external environment they operate in (Zou and Stan, 1998). These factors can have a significant push and pull effect on new ventures to internationalise

Critics of the technology claim that policing tactics such as predictive algorithms and hotspot monitoring have created more problems than they have solved, and that they have placed a wall between law enforcementand the public. Additionally, similar studies in Shreveport, Louisiana have concluded that the software currently being used is not having a significant effect on the property crime rate (Perkowitz, 2016). Biblical and historical allusions are often the most recognizable in literature and can have a variety of impact. Biblical and historical allusions create an embellishment of imagery, characterization, and the manifestation of government. An emphasis seen through allusions is in how imagery is portrayed. Bubbly Creek is described as being constantly in motion, as if huge fish were feeding in it, or great leviathans disporting themselves in its depths (pg 94). Sinclair used a biblical allusionto demonstrate imagery using a leviathan, which is enormous monster first mentioned in later part of the book of Job in The Bible. The contents of Bubbly Creek have an equivalency of a leviathan, which shows how much power Bubbly Creek possesses; as well as how nothing else could ever equate to it in size and its unrestrained moves. Another biblical allusion that Sinclair alludes to is the Egyptian plague of flies in the book of Exodus and with the hot weather descended upon Packingtown a veritable Egyptian plague of flies; there could be no describing this the houses would be black with them (pg 104). And the introduction of the Europeans into the Ibo society is no different, although in this case, it was more beneficial than detrimental to the Ibo. Enoch, a character in Chinua Achebe s Things Fall Apart accepts the Western ideas, and changes when his identity is tested, which evinces that a change in culturehas potential to be advantageous. For example, in the poem, The Boy Died in My Alley , the author narrates an incident when a black boy is murdered in her back alley and the policeman asks her whether she has heard the shot. As she was passionate about the bad experiences of black community in the United States, her poetryis mainly about their plight in the society (Guth Rico). The main focus of the poem, The Boy Died in My Alley is to study and analyze the reasons behind the violence that is associated with African American children who live on the street. The poem starts when a policeman informs poet about a black boy who was shot behind ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
