Golgi Research Paper
The nucleus contains chromosomes in which the DNA encodes proteins. The mRNA molecules
transcribed from the DNA leave through the nuclear pores in the nuclear envelope to attach to free
ribosomes or ribosomes on the rough Endoplasmic Reticulum (rER). mRNA molecules try to bind
to ribosomes as they contain ribosomal RNA(rRNA) transcribed from DNAin the nucleolus. The
attachment of mRNA allows proteinsynthesis to occur at the ribosome, producing proteins in their
primary structure. These polypeptide chains then travel through the rER where they are packaged
and pinched off into little vesicles and carried to the Golgi complex. They are then chemically
modified and folded into newly synthesised proteins which can then leave the cell (exocytosis)
through secretory vesicles produced at the Golgi complex.

Phospholipids
Phospholipids form the basis of the plasma membrane structure. As a main component of the
membrane they form bilayers with two layers of phospholipid molecules facing inwards, opposite
one another. They are arranged in this manner as the phosphate heads are hydrophilic meaning they
are attracted to water. They can therefore interact with water in the cytoplasm and with water
surrounding the cell. The hydrophobic tails of the two phospholipid layers therefore point inwards
towards each other as they repel water. The lipid component of the bilayer allows lipid soluble
molecules across the membrane.
Proteins
Proteins are scattered throughout the bilayer and are imbedded in two ways.
Intrinsic proteins are generally classified as the larger proteins within the bilayer and are extended
across both layers of the membrane. Some of these are carrier proteins transporting water soluble
substances across and others are channels which allow the transport of

Greek Art Evolution
The evolution of Greek art has expanded over hundreds of years and has contributed to many
artistic developments, especially in sculpture. The depiction of the human figure has drastically
changed over time from an undeveloped form to a more detailed rendering. This transformation
can be seen from Early Bronze Age figurine models to Ancient Hellenistic sculptures. Examples of
early figurines are small with disproportionate and unusual bodies while much later sculptures are
large scale showing the importance of corrected bodily proportions. Tiny figures generally had the
same poses lacking facial and body definition details while later sculptures have exquisite, clear
facial features, and deeply chiseled bodies. The developments of sculptors overtime produced
advancements in Greek sculpture. This can be seen especially in certain sculpture subjects like
Greek athletics, mythology, political depictions, as well as scenes of tragedy or death. Athletic
Greek sculpture was an important way in which statues were intended to immortalize successful
athletes. The development of these statues became more realistic and idealized as time progressed,
especially... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Compared to earlier periods of Greek art, figures in sculpture were represented more static and
stoic. Pieces like figurines from the Early Bronze Age showed little to no movement, drama or
emotion. Figures made in earlier times were expressive but they were not idealized or had a
naturalistic representation. Hellenistic art shows natural raw qualities of deep movement that is
easier to see than in early Classical Greek sculptures and even earlier. By having a deeper
depiction of subject matter, there can be an increase in the storytelling aspect of these pieces.
Storytelling feeds off of drama and emotion, just like how these Hellenistic sculptures breed a

Essay about Responsibilities of Personal Protection
Responsibilities of Personal Protection To understand the responsibilities of personal protection one
must first understand what personal protection is. Once this is established one can begin to discuss
the responsibilities and duties of personal protection, the rationale for personal protection, and
finally, the history, and evolution of securityand personal protection. Personal protection is
important in the security industry and a profession that continues to change and evolve. Personal
protection protects individuals and groups who many not be able to protect themselves from

It has been influenced by many cultures throughout the world. For year s individuals and groups
of individuals had the need for protection, allowing them to live, work, and play in a stable
environment free from harm or the thought of harm. Security has grown and evolved throughout
the years; initiated and developed after significant events, such as war and catastrophic events.
Personal security and the use of body guards dates back as far back as 1100 to 1300 B.C. Where
Egyptian pharaohs used Sherdens as their personal body guards. Sherdens had exceptional
fighting skills and were willing to changes sides for money. Perhaps the most famous Egyptian
known for using bodyguards was Pharaoh Ramses II, whose bodyguards fought viciously to
protect him in the Battle of Kadesh (Williams, 2002). Then in 27 B.C. the emperor of Rome,
Augustus, formed the Praetorian Guard. The Praetorian Guard protected the life and property of
the emperor and various Roman generals as well as keeping the peace. Praetorians were recruited
from veteran Italian Legionaries. This was an honored position and considered an elite status. Often
these guardsmen would often travel on campaigns with the Emperor. Over the years the Praetorian
Guard grew powerful and influenced the appointment of Roman emperors, for this the Praetorians
were disbanded 312 AD by Constantine (UNRV History, 2012). Security continued to evolve in

Essay on The Process of Gas Metal Arc Welding
Gas metal arc welding, or most commonly referred to as MIG welding is a very common and
sometimes preferred method of welding. Gas metal arc is personally one of the easiest and
controllable welding types there is. Gas metal arc welding was originally made for weld
materials such as aluminum, copper, brass, tin and lead. It was also used on steels, but shielding
gases were highly expensive in the early 1900s limiting GMAW s use on steel. It wasn t till the
mid 1900 s for GMAW to really take off. There were many different variations of arc length,
electrodesize, and power supply units. Since the MIG welder is so versatile, there are many
different types of things to make this piece of equipment.

Most power supplies also have a chart inside of them to set voltage and wire feed depending on
material thickness and electrode size.
Electrode and Shielding Gas Your electrode and both shielding gas can vary for different
materials and highly are affected by material thickness. The electrode is there to make contact to
the wielding surface and should have similar or same compositions as the metal being welded
to. Your shielding gas makes a big difference when welding to, especially with aluminum and
other non ferrous metals. Shielding gases are used because most GMAW welding electrodes
don t have a flux; the gas is used to protect the weld. It is best to use pure inert gases such as
helium and argon for non ferrous metals because of its cleaner and less oxidizing properties.
Carbon dioxide is most commonly used for steel or an inert and carbon dioxide gas mixture. The
carbon dioxide supplies deeper penetration needed for welding steel, but can sometimes cause an
oxidation. Oxygen is even a shielding gas but can cause your material to brittle and can cause
porosity in your weld. Another big part of GMAW and any welding operation is safety!
Safety
Safety when welding is very important and should be considered the most important thing to take
in consideration. You should always wear a very burn resistant glove; leather is commonly used by
most. Next is a wear non tattered or protective clothing just in case some

Essay The Psychodynamic Approach
The psychodynamic approach focuses on individuals who behave in a certain way due to having
emotional feelings buried deep inside their unconscious mind. The theory was developed by
Sigmund Freud who was a psychologist. The use of the psychodynamic approach within health
and social care helps individuals understand and support patients who are undergoing the
psychodynamic process as it is generally used around the world. This essay aims to show my
understanding of the approach and the ways health and social care workers could apply the theory
to a health and social care setting. By explaining what psychodynamic counselling is and how it
helps individuals it shows how I am able to identify the solutions to the problems.

It is the part that makes people obey the rules and that makes them behave the way they do. It
judges people, criticizes them, and makes them feel guilty when they do something incorrect. It
is what makes people feel guilty and ashamed, it is their inner judge. It is the part of personality
which holds all of individual s ideals that are required from parents and society (individual s sense
of right and wrong). The Super Ego provides guidance in creating judgments. Freud had stated that
the Super Ego starts to appear at age five.
There are two parts of the Super Ego: * The Ego Ideal this involves the rules and standards for
good behaviour. These behaviours consist of those which are permitted by parental and other
authority figures. Following these rules leads to feelings of pride, value and achievement
* The Conscience consists of details about things that are thought of being bad by parents and
society. These sorts of behaviours are regularly not allowed and lead to bad consequences,
punishments or feelings of guilt and remorse.
The Superego s purpose is to act and improve the behaviours of individuals. It operates to suppress
all inappropriate urges which comes from the id and struggles to make the ego act upon the
idealistic standards rather than upon realistic principles. The Superego is present in the conscious,
preconscious and unconscious.
The Id, Ego and Super Ego are functions of the mind

Comparing Pluralist and Ruling Elite Accounts of Political...
Comparing Pluralist and Ruling Elite Accounts of Political Power in the U.K. and U.S.
Whilst there are not any absolutely accurate interpretations of political power and political system,
there are different controversial theories about those, among which, pluralist and ruling elite are the
two fundamentally outstanding theories that both have echoing practical influences in the modern
world of politics nowadays. In this essay, I shall try to attempt to briefly explain the two theories,
going further on from this, to mainly compare and contrast these theories, especially taking into
account the political power in the UK and US where modern democratic societies are claimed to
exist and government is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Contrasting with pluralism, the theory of ruling elite suggests that government can and should be
controlled by a small elite, as mobilising and communicating within a small group is far simplier
and easier than that of the mass body. It can be seen as a minority which governs in its own interest
and is unaccountable to the majority. It is defined by the possession of three characteristics:
consciousness, coherence and conspiracy. Consciousness refers to the awareness of common
interests, coherence means that it shares a common interest and conspiracy describes the capacity
to act collectively. Ancient Greek philosopher Plato (427 347 BC.) argued that an intelligent elite,
whom he styled Philosoher Kings , should government. In addition, the elitists shared a common
sceptical view that democratic government is impossible and might be undesirable. They do not
believe many interests are represented as political institutions rarely serve their formally stated
purposes and instead represent whom they wish.
Today there are pluralist influences as well as pluralist essences in both the US and UK politics.
They both have social pluralism, according to sheer sizes of their citizens with different interests,
ethnics or religions; this also prevents everyone from taking part in the government and instead,

What Is The White Man s Burden Imperialism
Everybody Wants to Rule the World Imperialism has slowly disappeared as nations have
developed. However, the idea of spreading one nations idea and power through other lands was
once a very popular and practiced idea. Once the United States became free of Great Britain s rule,
many in the new county believed it was the United Statesjob to spread the idea of democracy and
freedom throughout the world. This was a form of imperialismand one advocate of this way of
thinking was Rudyard Kipling who wrote the poem titled The White Man s Burden: The United
States The Philippine Islands, 1899. At the time, the ideas in the poem were common, as
Imperialism was a common practice. On the other hand, now and days this poem is seen by many

Positive Short-Term Effects Of Energy Drinks In Academics...
People would be looking for ways of to how to productively boost up their academics and sports
throughout their day. For example, everyday many students may have experienced when they
arrive at school feeling the need to have more time of sleep and throughout the day they mainly
have not been concentrating on either on their academics or sports, so when energy drinks came
around students would have less difficulty in sleeping during their school days. Young consumers
had found out a way to increase their physical and mental performances and that is by consuming
energy drinks. Youthful Americans who have experienced in drinkingthese types of beverages have

Animal Cruelty Is A Crime Against Humanity
In order to constitute animal cruelty as a Crime Against Humanity we must prove that society is
ignoring the violence towards them despite the research evidence, the government sanctions mass
killings of them, and that this type of violence affects humans on a large scale (Plant, Schaik,
Gullone, Flynn 2016). Although dispositional factors such as empathy and aggression may
influence animal cruelty, we must look at the environmental factors that lead to the negative effects
from a macro level perspective. In this analysis, I will review whether exposure to animal cruelty
correlates with future maladaptive behaviors and the damaging effects it may have when
perpetrated at a large scale.
Part A: Exposure To Animal Cruelty And Its Negative... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This proposes the idea of how actions of animal maltreatment are similar to actions of child or
domestic violence. The second reason stated in the book Child Abuse, Domestic Violence, and
Animal Abuse: Linking the Circles of Compassion for Prevention and Intervention, is that
cowardly acts of aggression against vulnerable members of the family are matters of power and
control. The victims can be of any size, age, gender, or species, it is simply a matter of the
opportunity that presents itself (Ascione Arkow 1999). Lastly, the book Child Abuse, Domestic
Violence, and Animal Abuse: Linking the Circles of Compassion for Prevention and Intervention,
states that any act of aggression or violence within the entire family can put the members of that
family at risk. The dangers of this violence may also reach out as far as the community and its
children (Ascione Arkow 1999).
An example of animal exploitation spilling over to other forms of violence is the relationship
between animal violence and intimate partner violence. In a study done in April 2007, researchers
asked both battered and non battered women to report whether their partner had any history of
abusing their pets at home. The women living in the domestic violence shelter were nearly 11 times
more likely to report that their partner had hurt or killed pets than the group of non battered women
(Ascione, Weber, Thompson, Heath, Maruyama 2016). They also found that for the group of

Mernissi
Mernissi makes the claim that Any man who believes that a Muslim woman who fights for her
dignity and right to citizenship excludes herself necessarily from the umma...is a man who
misunderstands his own religious heritage, his own cultural identity (Mernissi viii). She goes about
supporting this claim by delving into the very detailed documentation of Islam history. She
attributes misogyny in the past and present Muslim culture to the male elite. She gives many
examples of how Muhammad and Islam have only supported equality of the sexes and also how the
male elite used false hadiths and very narrow interpretations of the Koran and true hadiths for their
purpose.

At the same time the caliph `Ali retook
Basra after having defeated `A isha at the Battle of the Camel (Mernissi 50). This leads Mernissi
to wonder if Abu Bakra made up the Hadith to give reason for not supporting `A isha in the fitna.
Mernissi also attacks the morals of Abu Bakra and finds out that he had been found to give false
testimony in a case to the caliph `Umar. So with the improbable case of extraordinary memory and
lying in other areas of his life, Mernissi gives reason to reject Abu Bakra as a reliable source of
Hadith.
Mernissi discounts another Hadith made by Abu Hurayra, The Prophet said that the dog, the ass,
and woman interrupt prayer if they pass in front of the believer, interposing themselves between
him and quibla. (Mernissi 64) First, Mernissi finds that when
`A isha heard of this Hadith, she rebuked it by saying that she had seen the Prophet saying his
prayers while she was lying on the bed between him and quibla (Mernissi 70). History also gives
Abu Hurayra a very anti feminine personality. He had a nickname given to him by the Prophet
which he disliked because of the trace of femininity in it. This lead him to say ..the male is better
than the female (Mernissi 71). He is also an object of distrust because even al Bukhari stated that
people said that Abu Hurayra recounts too many Hadith (Mernissi 79). He even confessed and

The Model Of Columbia Sportswear Company
The regression analyzes the number of sales (the dependent variable) of Columbia Sportswear
Company in millions of dollars in the United Stated per year. INC represents the annual income
per capita in the United States in dollars. ADV equals the amount that Columbia spent on
advertising in the United States each year, and is also expressed in millions of dollars. RS is the
number of retail stores per year in the United States. STP represents the average annual stockprice
of COLM (Columbia s ticker symbol in the stock market) shares in the stock market. COS equals
Columbia s annual cost of sales in the United States, in millions of dollars. We used t statistics, F
statistics and R squared to interpret the results of our regression. With twenty observations
(n=20), on intercept and five variables (k=6), the degree of freedom equals fourteen. With 99%
level of confidence, t critical t_14^0.01≈ 2.977. For two of the five independent variables t
calculated t critical, implying that the annual average stock price and the cost of sales are strongly
significant in the sales of Columbia sportswear. As a result, a one dollar ($1) increase in the
average annual stock price of the company leads to an increase of $3.37 million in sales. A one
dollar ($1) increase in the cost of sales leads to an increase of $1.44 million in the sales of the
company. Also with 99% level of confidence, we can assert that Columbia Sportswear Company

Plate Reactionics And Plate Tectonics
Plate tectonics, plate tectonics are a theory explaining the structure of the earth and rarely resulting
in the interaction of stiff lithospheric plates that move slowly over the lurking mantle below. Plate
tectonics has been around for about 3.2 million years, and still continues now. What does it do?
Well plate tectonicsare several plates that skim the top of the mantleВґs bumpy interior layer on top
of the core. The plates act like a solid and stiff frame in comparison to earth s mantle. The outer
layer of the earth is called the lithosphere; the lithosphere is the strongest, toughest layer of the
earth. Plate tectonics are a stylish way of continental drift. Continental drift is an assumption of the
continents once moving around earth created by Alfred Wegener. Although we don t physically
observe plate tectonics happening, it has definitely affected many things, created many things, and
destroyed many things. Over time we see what plate tectonics have done. I am going to be
explaining how plate tectonics have shaped volcanoes, how plate tectonics has shaped mountains
and also how it has constructed earthquakes. Usually when the plates being forced together or
being yanked volcanos are being formed. Have you ever noticed how volcanoes usually take place
in the same spot as earthquakes? When the tectonic plates move apart from each other, burning hot
magma rises and fills the empty areas in between. When the tectonic plates become one, one of the

bans in the city of Chicago and passed the ordinance by Alderman Ed Burke. Soon after the Chicago
handgun ban, according to Rubin, an associate professor in the Northwestern University, other
suburbs soon joined the action and began passing gunlegislations, including Evanston, Oak Park,
Highland Park and etc. Finally, in 1992, Major Richard M. Daley led the City Council to ban
assault weapons in the city of Chicago. (Rubin). Thus the city of Chicago had become one of the

The seemingly paradox has attracted attentions from politicians from both Democratic Party and
Republican Party. On one hand, President Obama gave a fundraising speech in the city of
Chicago and his speech would encourage Congress to take steps to ensure guns do not fall into
the hands of the wrong people while he guaranteed to not take away everyone s gun, according to
Valerie Jarrett, the Senior Advisor to President Obama. (Tribune staff report) President Obama sent
a clear message that encourages gun control by enacting local or national laws after he was aware
of the limited effectiveness of gun control in Chicago. Thus, President Obama and the like minded
people would, to some extent, believe that stricter gun control is the way to go in Chicago and this

Why Women Should Not Have Political Rights
During the late 19th and 20th century, many political and social events like the persons case,
suffrage, and both world wars aided in transforming Canada s meaning and purpose for a woman.
Many political figures like Emily Murphy and Alberta s Famous Five played large roles in
characterizing the rights and freedoms of a woman. Secondly, the roaring twenties was a time for
females to challenge their traditional roles and prove that they have much broader capabilities
than to stay at home. Finally, women began to fill the gap of men in the workforce and assisted
overseas during the world wars. Both world wars served to shift genderroles in Canada since women
in Canada participated in non traditional roles and gained political rights.
One of Canada s most influential figures of the 1920 s that shifted gender roles and the way
women are portrayed was Alberta s Famous Five. The famous five which included the likes of
Nellie McClung, Emily Murphy, Louise McKinney, Irene Parlby, and Menrietta Edwards, changed
the notion that women should not have political rights. For one achievement, a member of the
famous five by the name of Nellie McClung made great changes in granting women rights. Nellie
McClung started a movement to gain women s suffrage and strongly supported prohibition. Nellie
was successful with women s suffrage, but later lost her legal seat as a punishment for supporting
prohibition. Women had first to convince the world that they had souls, and then that they

How Rap Has Changed My Life Essay
Hip hop has literally changed my life Eazy E. From Public Enemy, A Tribe Called Quest, and older

its stories but not the way rap has. The older rap era is known to be considered 1984 1999. The
mid era of rap is known to be from 2000 2014. And then after 2015 to now is considered the
modern era. Rap has changed in so many ways, and nobody knows whether it is good or bad.
Older rap comes from many generations of hip hop artist. Infact, there are more rappers than
people think there are. Rap starting in the 1970 s, about 47 years ago. DJ Kool Herc, the first
artist known to rap, was also the first DJ for hip hop too. When rap started, it was not the most

Who Is Montag A Hero In Fahrenheit 451
There are 129, 864, 880 books in the world. Now imagine if there were zero. In Ray Bradbury s
Fahrenheit 451, this is precisely the goal of firemen and the majority of society. Guy Montag has
been a fireman for ten years, and he has always gotten a certain thrill from starting fires to burn
houses containing books to the ground. Then Clarisse McClellan comes along and changes his
perspective on everything. She says that firemen did not always use to start fires; they used to put
them out, and people were not afraid. I like to smell things and look at things, and sometimes stay
up all night, walking, and watch the sun rise (Bradbury 7). Clarisse questions his happiness, and
Montag cannot answer confidently that he is fully happy with his life.... Show more content on

When Montag reveals his secret stash of books in the attic, she nearly faints and tells him that he
must burn them in the incinerator immediately. Throughout the novel, Montag struggles with
individuality and making a difference despite dealing with his mind blocked co workers who
quickly target him as the outsider and turn the Mechanical Hound loose on him. There must be
something in books, things we can t imagine, to make a woman stay in a burning house; there
must be something there. You don t stay for nothing (Bradbury 51). He develops a plan with
Faber, a man who remembers what the world was like before firemen began burning books. This
plan just might be the key to regaining the people s rights and restoring books to their rightful
place in society. Firemen eliminated the people s ability to express one s own opinion when they
eradicated books and free knowledge from the world. In Fahrenheit 451, Bradbury explores this
idea of censorship and the fact that it bans individuality and the ability to express one s

Examples Of Determinism In Arrival
Determinism and Free Will in Arrival
If you could see your whole life from start to finish, would you change things? This is one of the
heaviest hitting questions in the movie Arrival and it serves as the philosophical launching point
for my discussion here. This question comes from the main character Louise directed at her future
husband. As the movie progresses, we as viewers learn that the main character Louise has been
given the ability to see into the future. Part of these visions include the death of her future
daughter to a rare disease at a young age. Yet, even though she can see these events of the future
and even though she knows of the pain and suffering they will bring, she still chooses to follow
the same course of her life because she recognizes some type of greater purpose. It is through the
actions and decisions of Louise that this movie explicitly explores the notion of whether
knowledge of future events would affect or negate our concept of free will as human beings. Like
Ted Chiang s short story entitled The Story of You Life that... Show more content on

Rowlands discusses this in Chapter 9 of his book and he argues that this concept allows us to
understand what it means to be a human being and how we are to achieve authenticity in our lives.
Namely, this type of thinking causes us to live in the light of our death. To do so, we require a
different understanding of time, one that transcends our standard linear notions of a past, present,
and future. By having a being towards death understanding, we begin to see everything in relation
to the now. This understanding applies directly to our understanding of our mortality. As finite
beings, this mindset makes us confront our finite nature and creates a sense of meaning through the
reality of death. It is through this realization that we find our meaning and true

Child Trafficking Is A Universal Issue
According to the Protocol to Prevent, Suppress and Punish Trafficking in Persons, Especially
Women and Children (2000), child trafficking is the recruitment, transportation, transfer, harbouring
or receipt of children for the purpose of exploitation. It is a violation of their rights, their well being
and denies them the opportunity to reach their full potential. Cathy Paris once said, Truthfully,
human traffickingis just a polite way to say modern day slavery. That being said, no human is
adequate to legislate and alternate a fellow human, without that humans assent. Even though slavery
was abolished centuries ago, it still lingers on secretly in many countries in the world.

According to the World Bank report Ghana has a population of approximately 25.90 million and
GDP of 47.93 billion dollars in 2013(Worldbank.org, 2014). That goes to say that there should be
enough resources to be able to implement full measures to invest in education and job creation so
as to alleviate poverty in the country. For most non Western countries, the reasons why most of
these important issues are overlooked is because of systemic corruption.
Corruption is the only logic answer that can explain the neglect of this phenomenon. Tragically,
the legislature of Ghana and in addition other African nations permits and supports these
misbehaviors. Degenerate practices are sought after for own self increase. Thus the reasons
explicable for the growth of Child trafficking in Ghana are neglect by the government, the fear of
the cost to be incurred by the government if child trafficking is to be tackled and finally the
absence of an effective the rule of law in Ghana. Corruption is ultimately the only logic reason
why all the factors mentioned above would thrive. Since the economy of Ghana is steadily
growing, why is this prevalent in the rural areas? Through analysis of the topic of Child
Trafficking in Ghana I argue that even though it is not yet a widespread issue, as we know
corruption to erode, in years to come if measures are not put into place, it will become a nationwide
calamity. Therefore, the objective of this

Wandilla Terrane Formation
INTRODUCTION
The New England Fold Belt (NEFB) of eastern Australia is composed of variably deformed
terranes, going in age from Early Palaeozoic to Late Triassic. These different terranes are for the
most part understood to reflect an alternate tectonic component, or different orogenic events.
However, is mostly believed to have developed within an extensively convergent plate margin
setting (Day et al., 1978, 1983; Henderson, 1980; Fergusson et al. 1988).
Exposures that reveal the complete subduction complex rocks can be seen in the Wandilla and

In the employment part of research, men employees have higher opportunities to engage in high

the education part of research, from the results of survey, it shows only a small degree of gender
inequality in education system. Most of interviewees will spend the same proportion on their
sons and daughters. For family part, we find that the gender inequality exists in families. The
expectation of women is getting higher, they only need to take care the family, and also need to
bear economic burden. Also men still hold more power than women, they act as a leader in
decision making. In media part, over a half of interviewees agreed that mass media always creates
gender inequality, specially TV and magazines. We also find that gender inequality exists in
politics nowadays, women have less opportunity to be elected, and in the villages of New

A Simplified Approach On Dynamic Response
A Simplified Approach on Dynamic Response of Tall
Buildings due to Wind loads
Abstract: In this paper, a simplified approach on dynamic response of tall buildings due to turbulent
wind load is proposed to get a proper modification factor used in equivalent static wind load method.
The approach undertakes the investigation of turbulent wind loads on high rise buildings in one of
the frequency domain analysis to get Peak Dynamic Response (PDR). This simplified method is
developed by using the Power Spectral Density Analysis in Sap 2000. The turbulent wind
spectrum, aerodynamic admittance and vertical coherence for buffeting wind loading are estimated
using Kaimal spectrum, empirical relationship proposed by Vickery and Spatial Coherence of
Davenport . The building models conditions are documented as a data bank. Then, the proposed
design method is introduced by using design data bank. Then, the method is analyzed by the case
studies with respect to various wind speed and height of storeys. By introducing this proposed
method at the initial stage of analysis and design, less controlled parameters in analysis and
computational effort in specified regions than standard procedures can be obtained.
Key Words: Simplified Approach, Modification Factor, Peak Dynamic Response (PDR), Power
Spectral Density Analysis, and Buffeting Wind Loading
Introduction: Wind is caused by differences in pressure. When a difference in pressure exists, the

The Importance Of A Person Has A Good Work Ethic
In America some jobs are more sought after than others, and to hold these positions without
having it taken away requires experience and a good work ethic. There are many ways to show
that a person has a good work ethic. Some are going to college and graduating with good grades.
Others are getting and holding a job in or after high school or doing internships. However, there
can be complications when a person is trying to show their interviewer that they have a good
work ethic. Without a previous job or internship there is not much information about the
individual applying for the job. Thus the employer might choose another worker. Even if the
person without a previous job or internship is a harder worker with a better work ethic, they
cannot show this until they are hired, and that is a risk that several companies do not take.
Impressing potential employers requires the ability to show that one can receive and hold a
previous job, or have been an internship that give the intern with experience in the work field.
One way to make a resume impressive is to have prior work experience. Not only does this show
that a person can hold a position at a place of work, but it also gives the potential employer a
source to contact and receive more information about that individual. Having a prior job can make
you appear to be a better candidate for the prospective job than someone with the same education
and work ethic, but has not had a job. In fact, college students may

Its significance began with the initial onslaught in 1347 to 1354. Frequent recurrences made it
hard to regain the balance of the middle ages, and the social pillars of the church, family life,

Europeans began to blame God because they had no explanation for the outrage. Priests and
bishops could not give answers for what was happening so they abandoned their Christian duties
and fled. This caused the monasteries to be run by less educated people, who eventually resigned.
As the church weakened, so did the hope of the European people. Animosity between the
Christians and Jews arose, art and music became dark and depressed, and people became

Importance Of Observation And Documentation In Teaching...
Teachers are aware of what they should do in the classroom when teaching young children. Teachers
should provide opportunities to develop positive dispositions toward learning when working with
young children to make sure they are using their knowledge and skills. Teaching young children,
the skills that need to learn about is the big key of understanding what the information that you will
need when you are assessing the young children. In this paper, the reader will read about observation
and documentation as assessment and why is it important? The reader will also read about the
difference between looking at and authentically or genuinely observing a child, the types of
documentation, two types of documentation that relate how teachers use the documentation in the
classroom and how documentations would be useful as assessments.
Observation is something that educators do carefully to gain information about young children.
Documentation is the process of collecting evidence that serves as a record. When teachers observe
the young children, it provides the information that the teachers need to build relationships with
individual children and enable them to be successful learners. The best way the teachers should
learn about children by carefully watching them, listening to them and studying their work. When
the teachers are watching and listening to children helps us understand what they are feeling,
learning and thinking. Observation is an excellent way to track children s

5.2 Authentic Leadership
5.2 Authentic Leadership Discussion
I believe my former manager was authentic in his effort to be a company man. He was for the
organization and concerned mostly about building morale during a time that the Cuyahoga
County was freezing pay raises and promotions. Morale was at a low point and as a result job
performances suffered. Employees began to be okay with doing the minimum or what was
required and nothing more. Our department meetings were bombarded with the be glad you got a
job theme, and that got old very quickly. My manager tried to infuse in our meetings some humor
and come up with ways to keep us engaged and interested, but in my opinion failed on all accounts
to build morale. As a matter of fact, most people spent more time looking for jobs and writing ...

It was the real him. After I had retired, I found out later that during the whole time he had cancer.
He died a couple of years ago, and we were in shock that he kept that from us. But, through it all as
a unit, his leadership kept us together and made us better as a team. Authentic leadership reflects
a Christian worldview when the leader follows the examples of Jesus Christ and the Apostle
Paul. The Apostle Paul said in 1 Cor. 15:31 (KJV), I die daily and Jesus said in Mark 8:34 (KJV),
Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. The
thought expressed here is that one has to be ready to live a sacrificial life that puts others
concerns before their own concerns. Our flesh wants to be admired and recognized. It wants to
take the credit and be glorified by man. A truly authentic leader will resist the temptation to seek
the praises of man for his self sufficiency. Biblically speaking it is God who raises up leaders, and
He does so for His

Essay on Introducing SMART Antennas to Improve Throughput
1. Purpose and scope of the system In the current wireless networking standards, omni directional
antennas are used to establish connection between the base station and the user. The radiation
emitted from this antenna is spread uniformly in a horizontal manner. These antennas are employed
because the base station is not aware of the location of the user. Hence most of the radiated beam is
lost or dispersed. Furthermore radiation from neighboring base stations with the same frequency
will cause interference. If it is possible to concentrate the beam/radiation only the user and
introduce nulls in the area of the interference, most of the radiated power can be made useful and
gives users with extended range. Introducing SMART antennas... Show more content on

Phased array antennas are to be used, whose array elements in a pattern (linear, circular, planar)
collectively give a directional pattern and by changing the phase of the current to these elements the
radiation pattern can be steered. Algorithms that is needed to achieve this is DOA (Direction of
Arrival) and Adaptive Beamforming algorithm.
Many algorithms are developed:
Direction of Arrival Algorithms:
MUSIC Multiple Signal Classification It is a subspace based DoA algorithm. Subspace
algorithms provide high resolution and are more accurate. The physical size of the array aperture
is not a concern. MUSIC algorithm is widely preferred. It involves extensive search through all
possible steering vectors. [1][2]
ESPRIT Estimation of Signal Parameters via Rotational Invariance Techniques The algorithm is
robust than MUSIC algorithm. Complexity and storage requirements are lower than for MUSIC
algorithm. It explorers the rotational invariance property in the signal subspace created by two
subarrays derived from original array with a translation invariance structure.[2]
Root MUSIC Polynomial version of MUSIC algorithm.
MVDR Minimum Variance Distortion less Response algorithm Aim of this algorithm is to
minimize the power contributed by noise and any signals coming from the interferer.
Beamforming Algorithms
There are two types of beamforming techniques. They are switched beam and adaptive array
system. Switched beam techniques use

Rhetorical Analysis Of Patton s Speech
This is a rhetorical analysis of Lieutenant General George S. Patton s Speech to the Third United
States Army. It was a very successful speech given to the troops of the United States Third Army
in 1944 before the invasion of France. After examining the genre, purpose of this speech, General
Patton s audience, and how General Patton used ethos, logos, and pathos we can see why this
iconic speech was so successful.
First we will take a look at the genre of this piece. The genre is very important in literature
because they are like guidelines that outline what your piece should have in it. For example if
someone wanted you to write a speech you would look at examples of other speeches and see how
they get a point across. You would not for instance look at a series of papers under the Lab Report
genre for ideas on how to write a speech. When General George S. Patton was tasked with speaking
in front of thousands of troops the speech genre was the appropriate way to address so many people.
Secondly this speech is very focused on a purpose, to motivate the listener, give confidence, and
hope. General George S. Patton motivates by taking in consideration for his audience and
exploiting it. The listeners are all inexperienced soldiers who are scared of going into combat for
the first time. Patton already has a reputation of being a hardcore successful, seasoned general.
Everyone looks up to him and he uses lines such as That s why Americans have never lost and
will never lose a war. to motivate people. When the soldiers of the Third Army hear Patton talk
about how All real Americans love to fight it motivates all these very patriotic people because
they link their love of country to loving the fight. Another great is example is when Patton states
And we have the best team we have the finest food and equipment, the best spirit and the best
men in the world. Why, by God, I actually pity these poor bastards we re going up against. . Patton
is making everything sound great saying that they have the best of everything, that they can t lose,
and even that they have it so good he actually feels sorry for the people they are going up against.
These examples are textbook motivation and it really makes Patton

Philosophy of Teaching Essay
Philosophy of Teaching Twelve years ago, I was not interested in becoming a teacher. I was
content with my life. Then, I had two wonderful children. As they became school age, my opinion
of teachers was immensely altered. I have spent countless hours within my children s school,
became personally connected to the wonderful individuals who were their teachers, and developed
a respect for these tireless workers. These individuals have created a desire within me to enhance
children s lives and improve society through education.
Children are life s blessings. All children have the ability to learn. Just as all children are
individuals, they also possess diverse individual learning styles. A successful teacher must have the

This method includes stressing core classes such as reading, mathematics, science, social studies,
and writing. This particular method was the foundation for most of my education. Teachers are
represented as strong role models within essentialism. Having a positive role model is an essential
portion of a child s education and I will work diligently to provide this experience for my students.
The third philosophy that I plan to utilize is social reconstructionism. Social reconstructionism was
praised by many of the great educators in history such as: Plato, Augustine, Karl Marx, John
Dewey, and many more. This particular philosophy encourages the educators to teach students to
focus on finding solutions for the social issues that are a part of our society. Society is plagued
with many social problems. Education is essential for future generations. As an educator, it is my
responsibility to ensure my student s possess strong problem solving skills. These skills will be
beneficial to the students during the education process as well as in their roles within society.
Finally, I have chosen progressivism. This method was developed by John Dewey, Ella Young,
and Francis Parker. Progressivism is a very interactive form of education. Children are exposed to
real world experiences and encouraged to develop questions and find answers or solutions for these
experiences. I believe that

  • 2. Golgi Research Paper The nucleus contains chromosomes in which the DNA encodes proteins. The mRNA molecules transcribed from the DNA leave through the nuclear pores in the nuclear envelope to attach to free ribosomes or ribosomes on the rough Endoplasmic Reticulum (rER). mRNA molecules try to bind to ribosomes as they contain ribosomal RNA(rRNA) transcribed from DNAin the nucleolus. The attachment of mRNA allows proteinsynthesis to occur at the ribosome, producing proteins in their primary structure. These polypeptide chains then travel through the rER where they are packaged and pinched off into little vesicles and carried to the Golgi complex. They are then chemically modified and folded into newly synthesised proteins which can then leave the cell (exocytosis) through secretory vesicles produced at the Golgi complex. 1.Nucleus 2.Nuclear pore 3.rER 4.Vesicle 5.Golgi complex 6.Secretory ... As a main component of the membrane they form bilayers with two layers of phospholipid molecules facing inwards, opposite one another. They are arranged in this manner as the phosphate heads are hydrophilic meaning they are attracted to water. They can therefore interact with water in the cytoplasm and with water surrounding the cell. The hydrophobic tails of the two phospholipid layers therefore point inwards towards each other as they repel water. The lipid component of the bilayer allows lipid soluble molecules across the membrane. Proteins Proteins are scattered throughout the bilayer and are imbedded in two ways. Intrinsic proteins are generally classified as the larger proteins within the bilayer and are extended across both layers of the membrane. Some of these are carrier proteins transporting water soluble substances across and others are channels which allow the transport of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Greek Art Evolution The evolution of Greek art has expanded over hundreds of years and has contributed to many artistic developments, especially in sculpture. The depiction of the human figure has drastically changed over time from an undeveloped form to a more detailed rendering. This transformation can be seen from Early Bronze Age figurine models to Ancient Hellenistic sculptures. Examples of early figurines are small with disproportionate and unusual bodies while much later sculptures are large scale showing the importance of corrected bodily proportions. Tiny figures generally had the same poses lacking facial and body definition details while later sculptures have exquisite, clear facial features, and deeply chiseled bodies. The developments of sculptors overtime produced advancements in Greek sculpture. This can be seen especially in certain sculpture subjects like Greek athletics, mythology, political depictions, as well as scenes of tragedy or death. Although dispositional factors such as empathy and aggression may influence animal cruelty, we must look at the environmental factors that lead to the negative effects from a macro level perspective. In Ray Bradbury s Fahrenheit 451, this is precisely the goal of firemen and the majority of society. Guy Montag has been a fireman for ten years, and he has always gotten a certain thrill from starting fires to burn houses containing books to the ground. Then Clarisse McClellan comes along and changes his perspective on everything. She says that firemen did not always use to start fires; they used to put them out, and people were not afraid. I like to smell things and look at things, and sometimes stay up all night, walking, and watch the sun rise (Bradbury 7). There must be something in books, things we can t imagine, to make a woman stay in a burning house; there must be something there. You don t stay for nothing (Bradbury 51). He develops a plan with Faber, a man who remembers what the world was like before firemen began burning books. This plan just might be the key to regaining the people s rights and restoring books to their rightful place in society. Firemen eliminated the people s ability to express one s own opinion when they eradicated books and free knowledge from the world. • 26. Examples Of Determinism In Arrival Determinism and Free Will in Arrival If you could see your whole life from start to finish, would you change things? This is one of the heaviest hitting questions in the movie Arrival and it serves as the philosophical launching point for my discussion here. This question comes from the main character Louise directed at her future husband. As the movie progresses, we as viewers learn that the main character Louise has been given the ability to see into the future. Part of these visions include the death of her future daughter to a rare disease at a young age. Yet, even though she can see these events of the future and even though she knows of the pain and suffering they will bring, she still chooses to follow the same course of her life because she recognizes some type of greater purpose. It is through the actions and decisions of Louise that this movie explicitly explores the notion of whether knowledge of future events would affect or negate our concept of free will as human beings. Like Ted Chiang s short story entitled The Story of You Life that... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Rowlands discusses this in Chapter 9 of his book and he argues that this concept allows us to understand what it means to be a human being and how we are to achieve authenticity in our lives. Namely, this type of thinking causes us to live in the light of our death. To do so, we require a different understanding of time, one that transcends our standard linear notions of a past, present, and future. By having a being towards death understanding, we begin to see everything in relation to the now. This understanding applies directly to our understanding of our mortality. As finite beings, this mindset makes us confront our finite nature and creates a sense of meaning through the reality of death. It is through this realization that we find our meaning and true ... That goes to say that there should be enough resources to be able to implement full measures to invest in education and job creation so as to alleviate poverty in the country. For most non Western countries, the reasons why most of these important issues are overlooked is because of systemic corruption. Corruption is the only logic answer that can explain the neglect of this phenomenon. Tragically, the legislature of Ghana and in addition other African nations permits and supports these misbehaviors. Degenerate practices are sought after for own self increase. Thus the reasons explicable for the growth of Child trafficking in Ghana are neglect by the government, the fear of the cost to be incurred by the government if child trafficking is to be tackled and finally the absence of an effective the rule of law in Ghana. A Simplified Approach On Dynamic Response A Simplified Approach on Dynamic Response of Tall Buildings due to Wind loads Abstract: In this paper, a simplified approach on dynamic response of tall buildings due to turbulent wind load is proposed to get a proper modification factor used in equivalent static wind load method. The approach undertakes the investigation of turbulent wind loads on high rise buildings in one of the frequency domain analysis to get Peak Dynamic Response (PDR). This simplified method is developed by using the Power Spectral Density Analysis in Sap 2000. The turbulent wind spectrum, aerodynamic admittance and vertical coherence for buffeting wind loading are estimated using Kaimal spectrum, empirical relationship proposed by Vickery and Spatial Coherence of Davenport . The building models conditions are documented as a data bank. Then, the proposed design method is introduced by using design data bank. Then, the method is analyzed by the case studies with respect to various wind speed and height of storeys. By introducing this proposed method at the initial stage of analysis and design, less controlled parameters in analysis and computational effort in specified regions than standard procedures can be obtained. The Importance Of A Person Has A Good Work Ethic In America some jobs are more sought after than others, and to hold these positions without having it taken away requires experience and a good work ethic. There are many ways to show that a person has a good work ethic. Some are going to college and graduating with good grades. Others are getting and holding a job in or after high school or doing internships. However, there can be complications when a person is trying to show their interviewer that they have a good work ethic. Without a previous job or internship there is not much information about the individual applying for the job. Thus the employer might choose another worker. Even if the person without a previous job or internship is a harder worker with a better work ethic, they cannot show this until they are hired, and that is a risk that several companies do not take. Impressing potential employers requires the ability to show that one can receive and hold a previous job, or have been an internship that give the intern with experience in the work field. One way to make a resume impressive is to have prior work experience. Not only does this show that a person can hold a position at a place of work, but it also gives the potential employer a source to contact and receive more information about that individual. Having a prior job can make you appear to be a better candidate for the prospective job than someone with the same education and work ethic, but has not had a job. In fact, college students may ... Purpose and scope of the system In the current wireless networking standards, omni directional antennas are used to establish connection between the base station and the user. The radiation emitted from this antenna is spread uniformly in a horizontal manner. These antennas are employed because the base station is not aware of the location of the user. Hence most of the radiated beam is lost or dispersed. Furthermore radiation from neighboring base stations with the same frequency will cause interference. If it is possible to concentrate the beam/radiation only the user and introduce nulls in the area of the interference, most of the radiated power can be made useful and gives users with extended range. After examining the genre, purpose of this speech, General Patton s audience, and how General Patton used ethos, logos, and pathos we can see why this iconic speech was so successful. First we will take a look at the genre of this piece. The genre is very important in literature because they are like guidelines that outline what your piece should have in it. For example if someone wanted you to write a speech you would look at examples of other speeches and see how they get a point across. Everyone looks up to him and he uses lines such as That s why Americans have never lost and will never lose a war. to motivate people. When the soldiers of the Third Army hear Patton talk about how All real Americans love to fight it motivates all these very patriotic people because they link their love of country to loving the fight. Another great is example is when Patton states And we have the best team we have the finest food and equipment, the best spirit and the best men in the world. Why, by God, I actually pity these poor bastards we re going up against. . Patton is making everything sound great saying that they have the best of everything, that they can t lose, and even that they have it so good he actually feels sorry for the people they are going up against.
