Ladies Of Leadership And Feminism
I joined Ladies of Leadership because I wanted to build relationships with other women of color. As
an out of state freshman from Georgia, one of my biggest worries was making friends. Ladies of
Leadership allowed me to surround myself with a diverse group of women who provided a positive
environment and space. As cliche as it sounds I found a home away from home .
I am also interested in social justice. Specifically, inclusion of women of color in mainstream
feminism. This topic is important to me because as a woman of color I have found it difficult to have
my voice heard in the discussion of feminism. I know this struggle of feeling your voice going
unheard is not just an issue for me, but for most if not all women of color regarding feminism. ...

I envision myself in a professional career that allows me to be creative yet practical. My mother is the
one who encouraged me to pursue this academic path. She and my father both came to the United
States with nothing and slowly built a life for me and my sister. I am so privileged and grateful to
them and everything they have done for us. She has inspired my to pursue a career that I enjoy and
love. My mother truly wants the best for me and believes that I can do anything I set my mind to. I am
a very affable person. This trait is functional because of its appeal to all societies. I am also assiduous
and diligent therefore it allows me to get the work done. My tenacity did not fully develop until I
realized that I can not be satisfied with a mediocre work ethic. This trait is practical because no matter
how demanding or grueling a job is, it is the most rewarding for me when the job is done

The Fundamental Concept Of The Finite Element Method
The fundamental concept of the finite element method is that a physical domain is discretised into a
small number of sub domains, known as elements, over which a continuous field variable such as
velocity, stress, pressure, or temperature can be approximated. These elements are connected at
specific points known as nodes or nodal points. Since the actual variation of the field variable is not
known inside the domain, approximating functions are needed to describe this variation. These
approximating functions interpolate the values of the field variable at the nodal points of each
element. Since the geometric and the required material properties of each element are known, suitable
field equations can be easily developed. From preliminary design results, stress distribution in the

Pickles Research Paper
Thomas Jefferson wrote, On a hot day in Virginia, I know nothing more comforting than a fine spiced
pickle, brought up trout like from the sparkling depths of the aromatic jar below the stairs of Aunt
Sally s cellar. So what is so special about a pickle? It is a very common side dish in many recipes
around the world. But a fact that very few people in the world know is that pickles have been used
since time immemorial and many historic figures, including Cleopatra, George Washington and Julius
Caesar, liked pickles. As pickling is a process of preserving food, many people used this as a means to
hold on to basic nourishments, in their bad times like war, famine and rough weather. Cleopatra who
was a devoted pickle fan, in fact believed that they enhanced her beauty.
With the possibility of preparing them come in a variety of flavor that include sweet, sour, spicy and

chopped into small pieces, cooked in edible oil and adding plenty of salt. The most common forms of
pickles in India are made from mango, lime, potato and garlic. Though the same ingredients may be
used in preparation, Indian pickles come in a wide variety of flavor that arise out of the difference in
spices used and the divergent processes utilized in preparing those pickles. For example, a mango

The Birthmark Symbolism
The Mortal of the Story
By looking at symbolism in The Birthmark, the reader can interpret that the birthmark is a symbol for
imperfection and mortality which is not obvious to most people. This is important because it turns the
birthmark into something all readers can relate to since no one is perfect. Georgiana s birthmark was
the fatal flaw of humanity which Nature, in one shape or another, stamps ineffaceably on all her
productions (Hawthorne 12). As stated before, nothing is perfect, Nature has a flaw on everything and
Georgiana s was her birthmark. Her husband, Aylmer, notices the birthmark and also sees it as an
imperfection even though other men would often tell her it was a charm. No, dearest Georgiana, you
came so nearly perfect from the hand of Nature that this slightest possible defect, which we hesitate
whether to term a defect or a beauty, shocks me, as being the visible mark of earthly imperfection
(Hawthorne 11). Aylmer at first is the only one, other from jealous women, to point out her birthmark
as an imperfection but his constant talk began to make her believe she was in fact flawed. This is
important because it ultimately leads to the death of Georgiana.
Once Georgiana also begins to view her birthmark as an imperfection, just like Aylmer does, she
begins to hate it and demands it be removed. Remove it, remove it, whatever be the cost, or we shall
both go mad! (Hawthorne 21). Georgiana is sacrificing everything she can in order for this birthmark
to be removed, even death. Aylmer warns her of the dangers of performing such a surgery but she
refuses to think it over and believes she is most fit to die (Hawthorne 21). Of all mortals, she believes
that she has reached her potential in the world and there is no more use for her on the world unless she
is perfect, with no birthmark and no imperfections.
Although her and Aylmer hate the birthmark, some of her past lovers and some readers might view it
as unique, possibly as a symbol for her personality. The birthmark is something that separates her from
others and makes her stand out, probably why all of the women hate her birthmark, they are jealous of
her uniqueness. But Aylmer can t help but to focus on the birthmark and it s

Race, Ethnicity, Art and Film Essay
This paper tries to analyze race relations, ethnicity and how art and film relates to these social issues
in their cultural context. Art and film have played vital roles in advocating for a society free of
ethnicity and racism. Using vivid descriptions and evidence of both text and a movie this paper seeks
to relate accordingly the concerned issues and factors affecting these social vices. It will demonstrate
race and ethnic tendencies in diverse cultural contexts.
As a demographic phenomenon, ethnicity is belonging to a specific ethnic group possessing distinct
culture and common origin. This is called inscriptive group identity. According to Said Edward (1993)

The colonial state activated heightened and enlarged ethnicity in a variety of ways. They brought
about a diverse wider group of interaction into competition, the colonies and the administrative union
started localizing administration. They started strengthening and enlarging ethnic allegiances which
increased ethnic tensions. In addition, they actively promoted preferential treatment of ethnic groups
as a matter of policy by establishing systems of collaboration.
Social Darwinism is a socialist theory that tries to understand the reason behind colonization and other
social vices like ethnicity. It was used to justify numerous exploits which we classify as dubious moral
values today. For instance doctors were responsible for assisting to die. Social Darwinism states that
people especially colonizers failed to justify the reason why they forcefully seized land and resources
from weaker natives. This is also illustrated in the military affairs where the strongest military will
win. The application of social Darwinism has since provided the justification for more exploitative
forms of social capitalism where workers are usually paid less and yet they have worked for many
hours.
It also tries to explain the reasoning behind slavery and colonization. However, not all social
Darwinism is negative. There are positive results of social Darwinism.

Elizabethan Poor Law 1601
Elizabethan Poor Laws
The Human Services world we know today is based on a law that started back in the 15th century.
Before the Reformation, it was considered a religious duty to assist the poor. However, after the
establishment of the Church of England, those duties seemed to slowly decimate. Queen Elizabeth I,
also known as the Virgin Queen, started the Poor Act of 1601 These laws were implemented in
English society to assist those in need of help. Thus, giving human services a foundation.
Queen Elizabeth I was the daughter of King Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn. After Anne was beheaded,
Elizabeth lost the title of Princess and became a lady after she was deemed illegitimate. It was not
until Catherine Parr married her father that Elizabeth got her education. After her father died,
Elizabeth s nine year old brother became king. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After twenty five years, the Parliament created the post of the Overseer of the Poor. It was not until
four more years later in 1601 that all the prior laws were lumped together created the Elizabethan Poor
Law of 1601.
This law required two Overseers of the Poor to be selected by each parish. It was the Overseer s job to
see what the financial needs wherein their parish, then they would have to set up a poor tax. Thus
collecting it from landowners in the said parish. Then they would be overseeing the money or food is
giving to the poor and supervising the almshouses.
The system that the Poor Law of 1601 has brought has greatly established the human services here in
modern America. To be specific, the system for food stamps and cash assistance is the very same way.
In order to be granted food stamps, you must show that you are in one of the three categories, idled
poor, able bodied poor, or impotent poor. With the proof, the people within the offices are able to
determine how much you can get and if you can find a job to help you get back on your

Essay History of Web Design
Web Design is a field that has been around for only thirty years, but has evolved drastically throughout
that time. HTML has changed much, and new scripting languages such as CSS and JavaScript to name
two, have arisen to help tackle the challenge that web development can be. From basic text pages to
fully interactive sites, the world of web development has made significant leaps consistently
throughout its short lifetime.
In the 1960 s a concept for HTML was created by Ted Nelson, a Harvard graduate. His work was
never used until the 1980 s, when the internet was introduced because of a lack of need for it. At the
time, HTML was the only option for web development, and there was not much freedom when it came
to design. Sites were basic, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
No longer are plugins a necessity to add multimedia content.
Another large part of today s web design scene is mobile web development. With so many people
owning phones and other mobile devices, mobile development has become a necessity in a world of
technology that is becoming increasingly smaller and more portable. Statistics show that over twenty
percent of Google searches are done on a mobile device, and that twenty five percent of internet users
access the internet exclusively from their mobile devices. The need for mobile web development is
growing fast. Mobile web design focuses on simplification. It is designed to be simpler on a smaller
screen, making navigation easier. A drawback is that using Flash is not possible currently, which was a
game changer in early web design.
The future of web design is not clear. Many people make the judgment of what it is going to be. Some
people predict that responsive, all on one page websites that flow easily through all browser types,
because of the rise in mobile users. Other people will say that the future is programs such as Adobe
Reflow and Macaw, which allow web designers to draw websites, which creates code to suit the site as
it is drawn. Others say that fast, responsive sites are the future, to level out loading speeds across all
devices. They could all be right. One thing is for certain though, the traditional form of creating sites
will be taken over

generally have lower self esteem. Where did males prefer hook ups as an oppose to traditional dating.
Interpersonal dating relationships start with adolescents and young adults. This age range is where
trial and error relationship lessons are learned. I chose the topic of perceptions of traditional dating

relationships and sexual activates trending in today s youth. The impact of the lack of parental

The Effects of Being Dishonest
As I pondered my brain for words to put on paper in reference to the topics given to me by my

Catch 22 Themes
In Joseph Heller s satirical novel Catch 22, Yossorian, an American bombardier soldier in World War
II, is stationed on an island off the coast of Italy with his fellow comrades. Everyone there is frustrated
and upset as most of them have completed the amount of missions that are needed to be sent back
home, but catch 22 is a law that is interpreted different ways throughout the book that ultimately is
there to keep soldiers from going on leave. The war gradually takes a severe toll on Yossorian,
especially when his friend Nately is killed in combat. After this, Yossorian refuses to fly anymore
missions and gets caught in Rome illegally. With this, the officers over Yossorian give him two
choices: be court martialed or receive an honorable discharge by voicing his approval of raising the
amount of missions to eighty before a soldier can be sent home. Yossorian, however, had other plans
as he decides to get away from the catch 22 once and for all by escaping to neutral country of Sweden
to take control of his life once again. There are many different elements that Joseph Heller utilizes to
portray the horrors of war such as the characterization of Yossorian, the characterization of Milo
Minderbinder, and the theme of the absurdity of war presented throughout the novel. Unlike many
other characters in the book, Yossorian is characterized as a realist who sees all the horrors of the war
when many others cannot. This is portrayed in a conversation between Clevinger and

Vinyl Record History
In the early 1950s a new way of making music was discovered. This method grew to be popular
during the 1960s and remained popular for decades to come. Of course, this refers to the age of vinyl
records, a time where the market was ruled by little black discs. A vinyl record is a circular grooved
disc made from a petroleum based liquid ( What Are Vinyl Records?, n.d). They originally gained
popularity for their uncanny ability to capture and replay music. Vinyls revolutionized the music
industry, and naturally they became the main source of music distribution. The purpose of this essay is
to educate the public about the physics, history, and the creative process behind vinyl records. Records

Any speck of dust or debris that ever got on the record could be heard as static when the record was
played. They were also vulnerable to scratches which usually caused permanent damage. Records
could also be easily broken because of how thin they were. If they got too hot they would bend and
warp which would permanently ruin the record. All of these flaws caused a record s sound quality to
degrade overtime because it was impossible to protect a record from them. Cassette tapes, CDs, and
MP3s offered a stronger, longer lasting form of music distribution. The music market continued to
move and vinyl records were left behind. Despite all their flaws, vinyls continue to be made and sold,
and any music aficionado knows that in order to have the best and most natural sound they ll have to
find a vinyl record. Vinyls left behind a lasting legacy of pure sound, and no other form of recording

Examples Of The Crucible And The Columbine Shootings
We Cannot (E)scapegoat What Happened The mainstream media is constantly being blamed for
crimes that people themselves commit. In The Crucible, a group of girls were caught dancing in the
woods by Reverend Parris. This was thought of as a sin and the girls used their overly religious
society to their advantage by blaming their actions on witches. The Columbine shooting was a tragic
event that brought high school safety into a new light. Both of the seniors committing the crime killed
themselves before they could be questioned, causing the terrified public to blame the incident on the
media, specifically Marilyn Manson. While The Crucible and the Columbine shootings are similar in
people standing up for incoherent children and deaths for selfish reasons, they are also very different.
Children in high school were killed in the Columbine shooting while adults were killed in The
Crucible and the who was targeted. A scapegoat, by definition is, A person who is blamed for the
wrongdoings, mistakes, or faults of others, especially for reasons of expediency (Oxford dictionary).
The Crucible is easily one of the greatest examples of a scapegoat. The town was completely prepared
to blame witches for the girls actions. The Columbine shooting blamed Marilyn Manson, a man
known for his outlandish dress and style. On April 20th, 1999, two students murdered 12 teachers and
students in cold blood. These two seniors, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold, committed suicide before
incredulous government officials were able to ask them why. The public standing up for incoherent
children was one of the interchangeable qualities brought forth in these stories. People were killed
because the public was oblivious and not paying attention to what these kids were calling out. The two
criminals, guilty of the Columbine massacre, were social outcasts. Dylan Klebold, one of the two
seniors, was clinically depressed and was prepared to commit suicide. They had gotten arrested
previously for breaking into a van, and spend the rest of that year trying to convince everyone they
were sorry. Both of the teenagers were openly hateful as well. Eric Harris wrote in his journal, You

A tropical wave emerged into the Atlantic from the west coast of Africa on October 9. After reaching
the southwestern Caribbean, convection intensified near the center and organized into a broad low on
October 21, possibly due to a cold front that moved into the region. After a marked increase in
convection near and west of the center, a tropical depression developed early on October 23 about 60
mi (97 km) north of Isla de Providencia. The depression moved northward into a weakness in a ridge
near Florida, caused by a broad mid level trough over the Southeastern United States. Initially, the

What Are The Positive Impact Of Affordable Housing
The Positive Impacts of Affordable Housing in a Community According to The Economic Times,
affordable housing is defined as housing units that are occupied by a person whose income is below
the median of household income. The purpose of researching this topic is to inform readers of the
positive outcomes which stem from affordable housing in communities and also to give examples of
the life changing impacts affordable housing has on families. Through analysis and observation, a
person may become more aware of what is going on in their neighborhood. A community should
consider affordable housing for positive outcomes such as education, good health increases, and
economic growth.
A person may ask, how does Affordable Housing affect health? The answer could be that they are
directly tied together. In fact affordable housing can reduce exposure to disease, which lead to a
decrease in physical and mental health issues. Some people may argue that affordable housing has
nothing to do with health. Health has a fair amount to do with affordable housing. It is common

that they can re invent the ordinary and make the audience feel sympathy towards an inanimate object
that was doing things that it wasn t meant or designed to do.
Albert Narracott, played by Lee Armstrong, is also a significant character in the play. He is Joey s
owner and a 16 year old boy. He changes throughout the play, starting out as a young, naïve boy, but
he turns into someone more obsessive when looking for Joey and joining the army. At the start of the
play, Albert was wearing a turn of the century agricultural labour clothing, with a hat. This changed
when he joined the army, and was wearing a soldier s uniform to show his transition from a farmhand
in rural Britain to a soldier. Albert was a quite mature 16 years old and this could be because of Ted
his father.
Ted Narracott, played by Steven Hillman, is Albert s father. He is also a drunk and he owns the farm.
He has many problems, which include being an alcoholic and a gambler. Ted is an integral character,
because without him, Joey wouldn t have come to the Narracott family, and in turn wouldn t have
been sent off into the war. Ted is a contrast to his

The Day Of The World War I
On November 11, 1918 the war to end all wars came to an end with a ceasefire between the allied
nations and Germany. One year later, the anniversary of this official end to World War I was marked to
be an honorary day, Armistice Day, for all military personnel who had died defending the United
States of America. Armistice Day was the first national recognition and important step towards the
care and honor of those who had served protecting the country. Years later in 1938, Congress passed
the 11th of November as a legal holiday; in 1954, the holiday was renamed Veterans Day to include an
honoring to all military personnel and committees ( Office of Public Affairs ). Veterans Day was a

They are the ones who risked their lives, their careers, and their families so that others could
experience what it truly means to be an American. Military men used to be the talk of the town,
everyone wanted to know them and claim them in their lives, but nowadays people want to discard the
disgruntled figures that come back from the hardships of war. The men and affects of war on them did
not change, people s tolerance for them did. No one wants to deal the mentally unstable or disabled
used to be war heroes. They want the bright and shining young men who stood for their country, but
these two types of men are the same. The old and forgotten used to be the bright and shining, and they
should be treated as such. They deserve the valor and honor that surrounded them when they shipped
off to still be there when they finally come home.
Caring for the Veteran s when they come home begins with the military itself; these are there men
coming home and it needs to stay as such. I believe in a motto of once a soldier, always a soldier, and
that the military is something that should always be there for its members. When injured or outdated
servicemen come home from their final assignment, they receive honorable discharge. There should
be no discharge however; there should only be retirement from the field. Let these men always have a

The Alamo By Antonio De Valero Mission
Initially named San Antonio de Valero Mission, the Alamo is the pride and joy to many American s
and most Texans. While the battle at the Alamo is the most renowned event that took place during the
Texas revolution, seldom people know that there were a plethora of events that took place leading up
to the showdown at the Alamo. The Mexican government began to shift away from a federalist model
under the presidency of Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna. The enhanced dictatorial laws, including the
revocation of the Constitution of 1824 in 1835 caused many federalists to revolt. Many immigrants
that inhabited the Mexican border region of Texas were accustomed to a federalist government and
they were quite vocal in their displeasure at Mexico s shift to centralism. Mexican authorities blamed
Texian stress on American immigrants; most of whom they believed had made little effort to adapt to
the Mexican culture. In order to put an end to the revolt Santa Anna began assembling a large army,
the Army of operations in Texas, to retain order. Most of the men in his army were generally raw
recruits and possessed no prior knowledge of synchronized combat. In October, Texans engaged
Mexican troops in the first official battle of the Texas Revolution. The Texans defeated the Mexican
troops that were already stationed in Texas. The last group of Mexican soldiers surrendered on
December 9th after the siege of Bexar. This small altercation is better known as the Battle of
Gonzales. It came into

Essay on The Apple Corporation s Clever Marketing Strategies
Apple is the world s most colorful company, Linzmayer, Owen . Apple Confidential 2.0. 1st. San
Francisco, CA: No Starch Press, 2004. When looking at its meager beginnings Apple s influence on
the media could only be described as unique. Their product, style, and overall beliefs make the Apple
Corporation a multi billion dollar company with a general appeal for all ages. It is getting harder and
harder to be an individual, so with Apple you can rise above the norm and be unique. Recently, this
unique corporation has taken the media by storm, with their new line of products. Right along side
these new products are a full line of new commercials to go along with them. These new commercials

The commercial was a parody of the book 1984. The commercial showed a young athletic woman
wearing bright red jogging shorts running toward a giant screen. The screen portrayed a man dictating
to hundreds of skinheads, and the girl ran up to the screen and broke it with a baseball bat. The
symbolism in this commercial was the main reason it was a pivotal portrayal of Apple in the media.
The symbolism of the giant man on the screen represented IBM, and the thousands of skinheads were
mindless consumers. Apple was the young athletic woman who broke the screen and freed the
thousands of skinheads from a life of monotony with PCs. This new commercial broke all the rules,
and the reaction has been, in a word, unprecedented, as stated by Steve Hayden in the San Francisco
Chronicle, 1984. This commercial was one of the most significant pieces of advertisement that Apple
could show, because it explained their philosophy in one fell swoop. This commercial informed the
public about what Apple really stood for rebellion. The people Apple markets toward are the creative
individuals. One of the former presidents for Apple products, Jean Gassee, was quoted April 18, 1996
in Rolling Stone saying, We must give our user pure sex. It s like a rendezvous in the back seat of an
automobile with a beautiful girl. One s experience should be better than the greatest orgasm you could

If management can increase their WACM, their goal will be easier to achieve. The best way to
increase their WACM is to decrease their variable costs. This is because increasing the price of their
services might lead to a decrease in their number of customers. A high WACM also means that every
revenue that Bridgestone earns will have a large impact on the coverage of their fixed expenses. The
next thing that needs to be analyzed about the annual budget of Bridgestone for next year would be the
break even point. As discussed, break even point is the point where the revenues and expenses are
equal and thus, will have a zero profit. To put it simply, companies should always set their budgeted
volume of sales above the break even point if they want to be profitable. And they should also do their
best to meet the break even point because if the volume of sales is less than the break even point,
companies are sure to experiences losses which might affect the entire company and its employees.
The break even point can be expressed in two ways. It can be expressed in terms of units, and it can be
expressed in terms of sales amount. The formula for the break even point expressed in units is as
follows: BREAK EVEN POINT (IN UNITS) = FIXED EXPENSES/ UNIT CM BREAK EVEN

The Storming Stage Of Tuckman s Stages Of Group Development
Hynes Posted Date: September 24, 2017 7:12 PMStatus:Published
First and foremost, thank you for your service. Additionally, your discussion board post was very
educational. I would like to further examine the storming stage of Tuckman s Stages of Group
Development. Our textbook states the following about the storming phase of Tuckman s Stages of
Group Development, Individuals test the leader s policies and assumptions as they determine how they
fit into the power structure (Kinicki Fugate, 2016, p. 265). At this stage, it is imperative for group
leaders to maintain control of the group.
Group Leadership
During the storming phase is where the group members will experience conflict over process or
progress. It is the responsibility of group leaders to maintain a positive climate for the group to
flourish. When confrontation arises leadership should not shy away, and maintain a positive
environment, There is confrontation from the team leader and team members isolate themselves from
the activities of the team (Ryan, 2014, p. 52). Additionally, group leadership should be fair and
impartial as the team develops. Leaders, should weigh facts versus opinions. You may find within a
group dynamics that group leadership often sides with extraverts more than introverts. Leaders should
weigh argument over progress or process based on efficiency and not individual linkings or
relationships of group members. When there is and bias within group dynamics there is a

The Importance Of Mangroves In Australia
Mangroves are trees and shrubs that can be found along coastal intertidal zones in tropical and
subtropical areas near the equator due to their inability to survive in low temperatures. Mangroves are
found not only in australia but on coastlines all over the world and are distributed over 100 countries
in the tropical and sub tropical regions of the world. Australia contains the third largest area of
mangroves in the world after Indonesia and Brazil, totalling around 11,500 km2 representing
approximately 6.4% of the world s total mangrove area (Appendix A) (Mangrovewatch.com, 2017).
There are 73 different types of mangrove species in the world. 39 of these mangrove species dwell in
Australia. The intertidal zone or littoral zone, is the area that is exposed at low tide but is submerged
by seawater during high tide. Mangroves survive in salt water on sheltered muddy shores, because
they have adapted to the harsh abiotic conditions in order to survive in their area. Mangroves also
provide a habitat for marine organisms such as fish, crabs and yabbies. Furthermore they provide a
habitat for many land animals such as birds, pythons, lizards and crocodiles. How mangroves
contribute to the functioning of intertidal ecosystems will be discussed on this report.
Mangroves have a very important role in their ecosystem. Their niche includes protecting and
providing for many organisms. Mangroves are considered main producers in their complex food
system (Appendix B). The food chain

New Jersey History

its nickname the garden state . But what most people don t know is its history. Some don t even know
it was one of the thirteen original colonies. New Jersey also has a few sports teams that people may
recognize like the New Jersey Devils and the Atlantic City Cardsharks. New Jersey one of the thirteen
original colonies, was founded in 1664 by Lord Berkley and Sir George Carteret because the king of
France wanted to explore the unknown land in between Newfoundland and Florida, the Dutch,
Swedes, and the Finnish wanted to settle there because of trading, and because the British took over
because they wanted to add it to their colonies. Giovanni Da Verrazano was the first European that
traveled across the ocean in 1524 (Tamara Orr). He was looking for an unknown area between Florida
and Newfoundland. He ended up in what people know today as New Jersey. He anchored off in Sandy

The masses of people who commute by transit have to pay for it while drivers on the other hand, pay
nothing to use the roads. Woods goes on to describe examples of how drivers get charged for using the
roads in other parts of the world and how it helps to reduce congestion and encourage the use of public

Hypothesis:
Tata Nano wanted to bring in a cheap car into the market which would be affordable for the middle
income level consumers, due to which it started cutting cost of manufacturing the car.
There were several assumptions made:

reason handbrakes were not provided, this was even done to further cut down the cost.

Beowulf Compare And Contrast Essay
In the Story of Beowulf, Beowulf faces three major battles while paying his debts back to Hrothgar.
All three monsters have similarities and differences but they all have one thing in common which is
basically to hurt others. The three monsters that will be highlighted throughout this essay will be
Grendel, Grendel s mother, and the dragon. Staring off with Grendel, Grendel is this large, evil, man
eating monster that lives in the swamps below the Kingdom of Herot ruled by Hrothgar. Grendel
attacks the Kingdom every night killing innocent people who fear for their lives because of him.
Grendel is looked upon as being the antiChrist, he is evil and more comparable to as a demon. Grendel
s monster qualities such as his tough skin and appearance are apparent, but the other qualities that are
not so apparent are his human qualities. Grendel s attacks are fueled by hatred and jealousy of other
people s happiness. Grendel ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

stronger now that Beowulf has gotten older. This dragon doesn t live in murky, dark swamps like the

other battles he s faced before. This monster symbolizes death and the fate of Beowulf because his
time has come and he knows it. During this battle, Beowulf and his men travel to kill this third and
final monster. This dragon is a lot stronger than the others, as it breathes fire, and can destroy basically
anything it wants to. Beowulf and Wiglaf are the last two standing and both come together to defeat

Sherman Alexie s Ten Little Indians
Sherman Alexie s writing contains irony and dark humor in order to draw attention to the ongoing
issues Native Americans face. Throughout Ten Little Indians, Sherman Alexie illustrates the journeys
of modern day Spokane Indians and the struggles they face while trying to find their true identity. The
struggles include the stereotype of a Spokane Indian and pursuing a life outside of the reservation.
Corliss, the main character of the chapter, believes in the nonconformity of people, fighting against
social expectations, and not following stereotypes. This feeling of nonconformity is heavily present
throughout this chapter, especially when Corliss is talking about herself. Fight your stereotypes! she

title symbolizes Corliss determination and passion. She is a searching injun trying to find where she
belongs whether it be in her Native American society or in the world outside of her reservation.
Corliss has always known that Indians were obsessed with authenticity. Colonized, genocided, exiled,
Indians formed their identities by questioning the identities of other Indians, (Alexie 40). Corliss is
authentic in her own way because she chooses to pursue a different life than what is expected of her
from her family. She is much more determined to find a life that fits her and brings her pure joy. Also,
it s ironic that Harlan Atwater poses as a Spokane Indian. He writes about the poor living conditions
on an Indian reservation, but in reality he has no connection to the Spokane reservation. Being raised
by a white family eliminates Harlan s authenticity as a Native American writer, thus making him an
outsider in Spokane society. Harlan also relates to the title of the chapter. He has been searching for
his identity as either a Spokane Indian or as a white male. He wants to know the feeling of being an
Indian who lived on a reservation which made him create this fake Spokane Indian character. After his
book fails, he decides to accept his

Benefit Of Extracurricular Activities
Extracurricular Activities: The True Benefits Despite the belief in extracurricular activities harming
students, they can actually be beneficial. Extracurricular activities benefit students by helping them
learn how to manage their time more efficiently and improve academics. There are social benefits,
benefits outside of school, and benefits after school. They help develop students and make them
became what they will be in the future. Extracurricular activities most definitely benefit the students
and even the school. Extracurricular activities can help students by helping them learn how to manage
their time more efficiently and improve academics. Students learn how to balance their activities and
school work appropriately, this helps the student get their homework done on time and limit
procrastination (Jackson). With less time to do homework, students work more efficiently, this limits
those late night homework sessions, because students will make sure their work is done. When
participating in an extracurricular activity, students might find that they have less time to work, so to
compensate they plan out when they will complete their homework, showing responsibility, and time
management ( Why Extracurricular ). Responsibility and good time management are beneficial
because it shows that students know how to manage their time to complete things before they are due.

Embezzlement is one of the many crimes that can affect any business. The first thing to understand is
the meaning of embezzlement. Embezzlement is the misappropriation of funds placed in one s trust or
belonging to one s employer. The difference between embezzlement and stealing is that embezzlement

It is unfortunate that many businesses have already suffered a huge lost and even closed its doors

  • 2. Ladies Of Leadership And Feminism I joined Ladies of Leadership because I wanted to build relationships with other women of color. As an out of state freshman from Georgia, one of my biggest worries was making friends. Ladies of Leadership allowed me to surround myself with a diverse group of women who provided a positive environment and space. As cliche as it sounds I found a home away from home . I am also interested in social justice. Specifically, inclusion of women of color in mainstream feminism. This topic is important to me because as a woman of color I have found it difficult to have my voice heard in the discussion of feminism. I know this struggle of feeling your voice going unheard is not just an issue for me, but for most if not all women of color regarding feminism. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I envision myself in a professional career that allows me to be creative yet practical. My mother is the one who encouraged me to pursue this academic path. She and my father both came to the United States with nothing and slowly built a life for me and my sister. I am so privileged and grateful to them and everything they have done for us. She has inspired my to pursue a career that I enjoy and love. My mother truly wants the best for me and believes that I can do anything I set my mind to. I am a very affable person. This trait is functional because of its appeal to all societies. I am also assiduous and diligent therefore it allows me to get the work done. My tenacity did not fully develop until I realized that I can not be satisfied with a mediocre work ethic. This trait is practical because no matter how demanding or grueling a job is, it is the most rewarding for me when the job is done ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Fundamental Concept Of The Finite Element Method The fundamental concept of the finite element method is that a physical domain is discretised into a small number of sub domains, known as elements, over which a continuous field variable such as velocity, stress, pressure, or temperature can be approximated. These elements are connected at specific points known as nodes or nodal points. Since the actual variation of the field variable is not known inside the domain, approximating functions are needed to describe this variation. These approximating functions interpolate the values of the field variable at the nodal points of each element. Since the geometric and the required material properties of each element are known, suitable field equations can be easily developed. From preliminary design results, stress distribution in the turbine disc obtained using analytical method. This result has to be correlated with the Ansys results. • 4. Pickles Research Paper Thomas Jefferson wrote, On a hot day in Virginia, I know nothing more comforting than a fine spiced pickle, brought up trout like from the sparkling depths of the aromatic jar below the stairs of Aunt Sally s cellar. So what is so special about a pickle? It is a very common side dish in many recipes around the world. But a fact that very few people in the world know is that pickles have been used since time immemorial and many historic figures, including Cleopatra, George Washington and Julius Caesar, liked pickles. As pickling is a process of preserving food, many people used this as a means to hold on to basic nourishments, in their bad times like war, famine and rough weather. Cleopatra who was a devoted pickle fan, in fact believed that they enhanced her beauty. With the possibility of preparing them come in a variety of flavor that include sweet, sour, spicy and garlicky, pickles add texture and spice to a host of many dishes. They re the perfect condiment for a well made meal and a for a not so perfect one! Though their history can be found in any race or culture of the world, at present they are outstandingly popular in South Asia, especially India. Indian pickles are from varieties of vegetables and fruits that can be chopped into small pieces, cooked in edible oil and adding plenty of salt. The most common forms of pickles in India are made from mango, lime, potato and garlic. • 5. The Birthmark Symbolism The Mortal of the Story By looking at symbolism in The Birthmark, the reader can interpret that the birthmark is a symbol for imperfection and mortality which is not obvious to most people. This is important because it turns the birthmark into something all readers can relate to since no one is perfect. Georgiana s birthmark was the fatal flaw of humanity which Nature, in one shape or another, stamps ineffaceably on all her productions (Hawthorne 12). As stated before, nothing is perfect, Nature has a flaw on everything and Georgiana s was her birthmark. Her husband, Aylmer, notices the birthmark and also sees it as an imperfection even though other men would often tell her it was a charm. No, dearest Georgiana, you came so nearly perfect from the hand of Nature that this slightest possible defect, which we hesitate whether to term a defect or a beauty, shocks me, as being the visible mark of earthly imperfection (Hawthorne 11). Aylmer at first is the only one, other from jealous women, to point out her birthmark as an imperfection but his constant talk began to make her believe she was in fact flawed. This is important because it ultimately leads to the death of Georgiana. Once Georgiana also begins to view her birthmark as an imperfection, just like Aylmer does, she begins to hate it and demands it be removed. Remove it, remove it, whatever be the cost, or we shall both go mad! (Hawthorne 21). Georgiana is sacrificing everything she can in order for this birthmark to be removed, even death. Aylmer warns her of the dangers of performing such a surgery but she refuses to think it over and believes she is most fit to die (Hawthorne 21). Of all mortals, she believes that she has reached her potential in the world and there is no more use for her on the world unless she is perfect, with no birthmark and no imperfections. Although her and Aylmer hate the birthmark, some of her past lovers and some readers might view it as unique, possibly as a symbol for her personality. The birthmark is something that separates her from others and makes her stand out, probably why all of the women hate her birthmark, they are jealous of her uniqueness. It was used to justify numerous exploits which we classify as dubious moral values today. For instance doctors were responsible for assisting to die. Social Darwinism states that people especially colonizers failed to justify the reason why they forcefully seized land and resources from weaker natives. This is also illustrated in the military affairs where the strongest military will win. The application of social Darwinism has since provided the justification for more exploitative forms of social capitalism where workers are usually paid less and yet they have worked for many hours. • 17. Examples Of The Crucible And The Columbine Shootings We Cannot (E)scapegoat What Happened The mainstream media is constantly being blamed for crimes that people themselves commit. In The Crucible, a group of girls were caught dancing in the woods by Reverend Parris. This was thought of as a sin and the girls used their overly religious society to their advantage by blaming their actions on witches. The Columbine shooting was a tragic event that brought high school safety into a new light. Both of the seniors committing the crime killed themselves before they could be questioned, causing the terrified public to blame the incident on the media, specifically Marilyn Manson. While The Crucible and the Columbine shootings are similar in people standing up for incoherent children and deaths for selfish reasons, they are also very different. Children in high school were killed in the Columbine shooting while adults were killed in The Crucible and the who was targeted. A scapegoat, by definition is, A person who is blamed for the wrongdoings, mistakes, or faults of others, especially for reasons of expediency (Oxford dictionary). The Crucible is easily one of the greatest examples of a scapegoat. The town was completely prepared to blame witches for the girls actions. The Columbine shooting blamed Marilyn Manson, a man known for his outlandish dress and style. On April 20th, 1999, two students murdered 12 teachers and students in cold blood. These two seniors, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold, committed suicide before incredulous government officials were able to ask them why. The public standing up for incoherent children was one of the interchangeable qualities brought forth in these stories. People were killed because the public was oblivious and not paying attention to what these kids were calling out. The two criminals, guilty of the Columbine massacre, were social outcasts. Dylan Klebold, one of the two seniors, was clinically depressed and was prepared to commit suicide. They had gotten arrested previously for breaking into a van, and spend the rest of that year trying to convince everyone they were sorry. Both of the teenagers were openly hateful as well. Additionally, your discussion board post was very educational. I would like to further examine the storming stage of Tuckman s Stages of Group Development. Our textbook states the following about the storming phase of Tuckman s Stages of Group Development, Individuals test the leader s policies and assumptions as they determine how they fit into the power structure (Kinicki Fugate, 2016, p. 265). At this stage, it is imperative for group leaders to maintain control of the group. Group Leadership During the storming phase is where the group members will experience conflict over process or progress. It is the responsibility of group leaders to maintain a positive climate for the group to flourish. When confrontation arises leadership should not shy away, and maintain a positive environment, There is confrontation from the team leader and team members isolate themselves from the activities of the team (Ryan, 2014, p. 52). Additionally, group leadership should be fair and impartial as the team develops. Leaders, should weigh facts versus opinions. You may find within a group dynamics that group leadership often sides with extraverts more than introverts. The Importance Of Mangroves In Australia Mangroves are trees and shrubs that can be found along coastal intertidal zones in tropical and subtropical areas near the equator due to their inability to survive in low temperatures. Mangroves are found not only in australia but on coastlines all over the world and are distributed over 100 countries in the tropical and sub tropical regions of the world. Australia contains the third largest area of mangroves in the world after Indonesia and Brazil, totalling around 11,500 km2 representing approximately 6.4% of the world s total mangrove area (Appendix A) (Mangrovewatch.com, 2017). There are 73 different types of mangrove species in the world. 39 of these mangrove species dwell in Australia. The intertidal zone or littoral zone, is the area that is exposed at low tide but is submerged by seawater during high tide. Mangroves survive in salt water on sheltered muddy shores, because they have adapted to the harsh abiotic conditions in order to survive in their area. Mangroves also provide a habitat for marine organisms such as fish, crabs and yabbies. Furthermore they provide a habitat for many land animals such as birds, pythons, lizards and crocodiles. How mangroves contribute to the functioning of intertidal ecosystems will be discussed on this report. Mangroves have a very important role in their ecosystem. New Jersey also has a few sports teams that people may recognize like the New Jersey Devils and the Atlantic City Cardsharks. Giovanni Da Verrazano was the first European that traveled across the ocean in 1524 (Tamara Orr). He was looking for an unknown area between Florida and Newfoundland.
