help you assess whether your assessment measures up!
4. FIRST:
Know your stuff
• Accuracy, please!
• Use the correct assessment question
types.
• Include the correct answer (!).
• Double-check and review.
5. FOCUS:
What’s your goal?
• Stick to your target topic.
• Do not throw in random items.
• Evaluate progress on only the intended
objectives.
6. FAIRNESS:
Getting stressed out while taking
a quiz is pretty standard.
• Avoid trick questions, tricky wording, or
even problems that are impossible to
solve.
• Clarity is critical.
7. FLOW:
If nobody’s on the same page,

• Use clues and context to ensure the test

makers by improving focus rather than
increasing disorientation.
