Heroin Intervention Paper
Introduction The research discussed in this paper explores the impact of heroin on the population as
well as its impact on the methods healthcare workers use to treat the individuals who are struggling
with this addiction. Three articles were analyzed to determine the influence of this issue on society as
well as how nurse led rehabilitation can be utilized to improve client outcomes and reduce relapse.
This epidemic is quickly becoming one of the leading causes of death in the United States as well as
the rest of the world, and as a result new interventions and ideas must be taken into consideration to
help improve the outcomes of treatment. Heroin use in the general population has increased from

An issue in the healthcare field when discussing drug dependence in the patient population is the
stigma that follows these individuals. These patients are struggling with an addiction process that most
nurses and other healthcare workers do not completely understand. As a result of this disconnect
between patient and nurse there is often a lack of truthful communication from the patient for fear of
having this stigma affect the treatment they receive. In this article a real situation was discussed in
which a patient was not properly medicated for pain after a cholecystectomy based on the knowledge
of the healthcare staff pertaining to her utilization of the Community Alcohol and Drug Services
program. This individual was stigmatized and put through intense pain based on the decisions made
by staff that who took it upon themselves to make choices for her because of her past opiate use
(Hughes and McKay, 2012). This example notes the poor ethical treatment of a patient pain based on
discriminatory judgment by the health care

Early Stages Of Dementia Essay
Each person may experience dementia in different ways. Fluctuation of needs and abilities It is not
fully known why somebody with dementia can have good days and bad days . Part of the answer for
this could be because we all have good and bad days. This very much depends on how we are feeling,
how much sleep we have had, what activity we are doing and how much we want to do that activity. If
you do not like doing something, it seems to take forever to get it over and done with. The time drags
and your level of boredom or uninterest rises. On the other hand, when you are doing something you
enjoy, the time rushes by so that before you know it the activity comes to an end. This theory could
also relate to the person with dementia. If the person ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, take the person out of their familiar surroundings and out of their routine, and their
confusion will grow, causing their symptoms to be more obvious. Stress has been identified to have an
effect on our memory. In the early stages of dementia, the person may be fully aware that they have
forgotten where they have put things. This can cause their stress levels to rise, resulting in added
memory difficulties, frustration and confusion. In these earlier stages it is important for you as a care
worker to give the person emotional support. Do not be tempted to take over what they are having
difficulty with. Help them to calm down and think about what they are doing. The more the person
becomes agitated, the greater their difficulties will become. As the condition progresses, the more
support the person will require. This will include support with day to day activities. You can give
support through reminding the person what they need to do. Do not overload them as this will increase
their stress and therefore their symptoms. If the person asks you a question and repeats it several times
within a short space of time, answer it as though it is the first time you have heard the

The Five Stages Of Grief
It s ironic that Elizabeth Kubler Ross theory, of the five stages of grief is present in the story Hamlet
by William Shakespeare after so many centuries later. Hamlet is believed to be the most dramatic play
in history, and comes with many personal conflicts that people still today will struggle with. In Hamlet
, the main character, Hamlet goes through the 5 stages of grief throughout the story. Elizabeth Kubler
Ross developed a theory based on how she believes to be the stages of acceptance of death. The 5
stages of grief and loss are: 1. Denial and isolation; 2. Anger; 3. Bargaining; 4. Depression; 5.
Acceptance. People who are grieving do not necessarily go through the stages in the same order or
experience all of them. (Axelrod, 2016) Even though, Hamlet repeats some of these stages, and is
involved in multiple stages at the same time, he does in fact experience through all these stages.
Hamlet the Danish prince, son of Gertrude, grieve for the death of his father. The unexpected passing
of his father causes Hamlet to experience a roller coaster of emotions. The death of his father is not the
only thing he struggles with, but the marriage between his mother and uncle troubles him also. He
feels as if his mother has betrayed him, and did not give him the proper time to grief over the fatality
of his father. Claudius, Hamlet s uncle, not only replaced his father, but he also inherited the throne
that was supposed to be passed down to Hamlet. When Horatio and the

Narrative Of The Life Of Frederick Douglass Analysis
Times seem to be so tough when no one has control over the things they can say or even do. In the
Narrative of the Life of Fredrick Douglass, Fredrick Douglass writes about his journey of being
practically dumb, beaten, and often mistreated. Douglass is a person whom I can personally relate to,
because we have so many similarities. He is a goal driven determined man, and that s how I consider
myself. The fact that Douglass cannot read or write is very astonishing to me, for the simple fact that I
have never read about anything about him. Douglass appears to not know his birthday or even his age;
wouldn t it only be right to tell the slaves about themselves since they are already getting their
freedom taken away? I have had family members who

The Tension Between National Security And Individual Privacy
The Situation
The tension between national security and individual privacy has long existed even before the
development of digitized information. Recently, two main forces have advanced the debate over this
balance to the forefront of the public eye: 1) the proliferation of data by private sector companies and
2) the heightened need for homeland security and public defense. With the rapid evolution of
technology, companies have aggregated pools of consumer data to improve upon internal decision
making. In some cases, however, this data can be leveraged to ensure national security and public
safety. This juxtaposition of enterprise and security results in a blurring of the line dividing public and
private sector responsibilities. The question becomes an issue of moral obligation versus legal
responsibility. What are we as consumers and citizens willing to sacrifice in exchange for safety? And
does the private sector inevitably succumb to obligations originating from the public sector?
The company on the forefront of this issue is Apple. After the tragic events in San Bernardino, CA on
December 2, 2015, the United States FBI located an iPhone 5C belonging to one of the terrorists. The
FBI, however, was unable to access the phone and formally requested Apple to unlock the device to
facilitate the search for information about the killers. Apple swiftly refused and after several weeks of
back and forth, the FBI filed a case against Apple (Nakashima April 2016). This case

Malik s Memoir
Ever since I was born, I have been Malik s little sister. This has always been my identity. My brother,
Malik, was born with a multitude of disabilities. At only two days old, the doctors told my family he
was blind in one eye. By the time he was six weeks old, he had undergone three major surgeries: One
for the heart, then on the esophagus and finally, the placement of a stomach tube. At age one, my
family discovered he was 100% deaf. When he was three, he was diagnosed with CHARGE
Syndrome, an incredibly rare and complex congenital disorder. Approximately 1 in every 10,000
children are born with it. Each letter in CHARGE stands for the disabilities used to identify it. When
he was little, my parents were told time and time again by everyone ... Show more content on

Malik is completely non verbal. He communicates through only American Sign Language and/ or
gestures. Once I was asked by a woman inquiring about my relationship with my brother, How do you
know he loves you? I did not have to think for very long to come up with an answer. I can tell he loves
me when he gets upset and comes to me for a hug. I can tell he loves me when I put him to bed and he
wants me to sit with him until he falls asleep. I can tell he loves me with every tiny gesture of
affection or appreciation. Noticing these things without a doubt made me the person I am today. His
loving personality has made me want to be a more caring person for as long as I can remember. Seeing
the joy he is able to evoke in others gives me the motivation to provide people that same happiness.
My brother, Malik, is the most influential person in my life. He constantly makes me want to be a
better person, not only for him, but also for everyone else. My brother continually inspires me to show
love however I can and to go above and beyond. If Malik, with an abundance of communication and
other types of barriers, can make the world a brighter place, why shouldn t I try

Ida B. Wells
Ida B. Wells is well known for her influence during the civil rights and women s rights movements.
She was born in 1862 in Holly Springs Mississippi. Her parents died of yellow fever when she was
only sixteen years old. She was to be split up from her other six siblings, but she dropped out of
school and managed to get a job as a teacher and was able to keep her family together. She soon
realized the discrimination in pay that there was as she was taking home thirty dollars compared to
someone else s eighty dollars a month. Then in 1884, she was confronted by a railroad conductor,
asking her to move to the overly crowded smoking car. She refused and was drug off the train. She
hired an attorney and tried to sue the railroad. Her ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The main excuse given for the mob lynchings of the Negroes was rape. Any blacks found to be
involved intimately with a white woman were immediately accused of rape. Ida writes, In numerous
instances where colored men have been lynched on the charge of rape, it was positively known at the
time of lynching, and indisputably proven after the victims death, that the relationship sustained
between the man and the woman was voluntary and clandestine, and that in no court of law could even
the charge of assault have been successfully maintained. However, she also writes, The Southern
white man says it is impossible for a voluntary alliance to exist between a white woman and a colored
man, and therefore, the act of an alliance is a proof of force. Even though they know that the acts had
been completely consensual, the white males continued this butchery of the blacks. Anything that
could be thought up, even if it lacked truth or evidence, was used as excuses for these continued forms
of slavery. Ida also writes about the young white women from the North that left their lives behind to
go to the south and educate the newly emancipated blacks. These women were treated just as the
blacks, no respect or

Pros And Cons Of Federal Heights Essay
Located in Colorado s Adams County, Federal Heights is considered a suburb of Denver. Its
population of just over 12,000 citizens gives it a small town vibe, which might make it more appealing
to potential residents who crave relief from city life. Denver is only about seven miles south of
Federal Heights, so it s easily accessible if you crave a meal at a fancy restaurant or an evening at the
theater. In the late 1920s, Harvey Larsen built the first business in Federal Heights a grocery store and
owned a few square miles of land here. Larsen originally worked for a railroad company, which was
one of the largest industries in the area thanks to the droves of people who moved west during that

town s two coffee shops, or get a membership at a local gym to keep in shape. You ll also have access

Angels In America Themes
Ignoring the past, allows for a cycle of oppression and intolerance, and is the action that restricts
progress. When Louis asks the Rabbi if he could leave Prior for the better good of progress and the
future, the Rabbi replies by stating he has no solution for Louis, because Catholics believe in
Forgiveness. Jews believe in Guilt, so Louis, as Jew, will suffer by that choice (25). Although the
Rabbi is simplifying both religions, guilt is based off solely regretting past doings, while forgiveness
is based letting go of the previous wrongdoings for a better future. The two characters that identify as
Jewish, Roy and Louis, are seen as rooting all ideas societies that exclude their identities. Louis, by
idealizing past methods of progression, while Roy, completely blinded from the disease and issues
arising in current culture. Both methods are obstructive, helping spread diseases, and containing
progress.
Forgiveness and acceptance is the only way that tolerance and progression can occur. Harper
represents another character who has a disease tied with her identity, but uses both the illness and the

communities and cultures to keep moving. The balance between acknowledging the bad and good of

The Efficient Market Hypothesis
Introduction
There is a fierce debate on whether stock market is efficient all these years. Some people advocated
Fama s research in 1960s, and they believe that the Efficient Markets Hypothesis has been well
established. However, others do not agree with. They found some evidence to prove market inefficient
by empirical researches. This essay mainly focuses on the Efficient Markets Hypothesis, and there are
six parts to discuss. Firstly, it will compare the random walk theory and the weak form of the Efficient
Markets Hypothesis; Secondly, it will choose two empirical studies against the weak form of the
Efficient Markets Hypothesis; Thirdly, it will assess the semi strong form with the weak form the
Efficient Markets Hypothesis; Fourthly, it will evaluate the semi strong form of the Efficient Markets
Hypothesis by two of empirical studies; Fifthly, it will identify the contrast between the strong form of
the Efficient Markets Hypothesis with both weak form and semi strong form; Last but not least, it will
use one empirical study to judge the strong form.
The random walk theory is a financial theory asserting that stock market prices change randomly and
no one can predict their trends of patterns (Brealey et al., 2012). Bachelier first proposed the concept
of the random walk theory in 1900 (Fama, 1970). However, it is well known by Kendall in 1953
(Brealey et al., 2012). The Efficient Markets Hypothesis was developed by Fama in 1970 (Fama,
1970). In his paper, he defined

disadvantages of monopolies in our market. With these arguments going on, discussions of the
Sherman Antitrust Act in many legal cases, have been whether or not this law is beneficial to our
economy and population, or harmful. People have gathered on both sides of this debate looking for the
truth behind the effect of the Sherman Antitrust act. To learn how the Sherman Antitrust Act works we
must look back to when and why it was created. In the past, and even now, the Sherman Antitrust Act

This Act gave them the power to hammer down on companies that seemed threatening to them,
making it a success. Equally important, there were also disadvantages for many of the consumers.
Some of these inconveniences including, fixed prices, and poor quality. The public often does not
respond well to these things making it a priority and a sign that things needed to change. The
government isn t always out to get people, in fact they often want to help, and by deciding on creating
the Sherman Antitrust Act they indeed helped many a consumer get away from high and unfair prices.
Besides, this economy, being of a competitive nature since our revolution, will not be left alone to be
ruined by the many monopolies dominating it. The government often looks to protect this economy,
resulting in the action to stop monopolies from ruling the market. Additionally, John Sherman,
Secretary of Treasury under President Rutherford B. Hayes, Senator of Ohio, and principal author of
the Sherman Antitrust Act, tells us of a reason of his own for this law being drawn up. The reason, as
stated by Mr. Sherman, is to protect the country from the foul effects of the buildings of monopolies,
rather than the final end result of the monopolies. He even went as far as to say that the actions of
companies after they become monopolies are even good for innovation ( John Sherman ). People even

Pros And Cons Of Ncaa Football
Over the years, changes have been made to the postseason of NCAA football. There have been two
major types of game series: the Bowl Championship Series (BCS) and the College Football Playoffs
(CFP). The BCS was introduced to have the best teams in the nation voted to secure spots in bowl
games, determining who is the best team of that year. The CFP let all games in the regular season help
a team reach the playoffs and play in the championship game to be declared the NCAA champions.
Although many people claim that the CFP s are the best option for the NCAA, many people argue that
the BCS is the better choice to conclude the football season, which leads to think if the change to the
CFP was the right choice. The BCS should be reinstated because of its ability to have the top
contenders for national champion play each other in order to be the best in the NCAA. ... Show more

An advantage of the BCS stresses how important it can be to win the weekly, regular season games,
and this makes the games more exciting for fans and players. Another advantage of the BCS is that a
conference cannot have a monopoly over the whole bowl series, this means that one conference
cannot hold a position in more than three bowl games. This form of post season was instituted in 1998
to provide non typical match ups and determine the best teams in the NCAA. This did not always
work because the teams were also determined by a vote. People who voted often chose the more
popular team, because they did not always want to watch teams they knew little about. Usually, the
best team was picked in order to make for the most spectacular

Dalida Research Paper
In a career that spanned four decades, 30 years, 1,000 songs, and earned her more than 90 gold and
platinum records, Egyptian born and French residing pop singer Dalida lived a fascinating and tragic
life of celebrity. After her breakout in 1956, Dalida s breathtaking beauty and distinctive voice made
her an instant star, which gave her all the riches and spoils one could hope for, but amplified her
vulnerabilites and weaknesses which fame and success exploited.
Directed by Liza Azuelos (LOL), the film tells the singer s story in a non linear way, beginning with
her lying to her brother in a French airport in 1967, then secretly heading to a Parisian hotel. She is
reeling from the recent suicide of her lover, burgeoning Italian pop singer Luigi Tenco, and has
decided to attempt to take her own life. Not successful, she then is moved to a facility and doctors
bring in those closest to her to learn more about her struggles.
We traverse through her life at a relatively rapid speed, making Dalida a film that quickly becomes a
highlight reel of a subject s life. Born Iolanda Gigliotti, she was bullied and rejected by her peers in
grade school and saw her family persecuted during World War II. Her vocal talents soon emerged and
in her early 20 s she was discovered by radio station magnate Lucien Morisse (NAME). So taken with
one another, Morisse left his wife for Iolanda and began managing her career.

If you are reading this paper at work, chances are your boss may be reading it right along with you and
you do not know it. Employers have a legitimate interest in monitoring their employees in the
workplace. Besides efficiency and productivity, employers want to protect their agencies from
possible employee misconduct, fraud, and misrepresentation.
Current legal trends seem to indicate that employer interests are going to be given deference,
especially if the workplace continues to experience signs of increased destructive behaviors (thefts,
workplace violence, copyright infringement, etc.). At times, employee surveillance is viewed as
absolutely necessary.
Unfortunately, there are virtually no clear cut laws that regulate employee monitoring in the
workplace. In order to protect yourself, understand your employer s policy on employee monitoring
and know your privacy rights if your employer abuses monitoring in the workplace.
The Privacy Issue
One of the most interesting, yet controversial areas concerning employment is that of privacy.
Employers and employees alike are trying to discern what limits should a company have over

It s Time To End Poverty In The United States
Throughout years poverty has been an ongoing situation that has only been increasing throughout the
years. Many efforts have been issued by the government over the situation; but yet many of those
efforts have failed to succeed. Increased dependency is the only long term impact that government
efforts have had on poverty. By solving poverty the government could make the economy grow more
for everyone , because many people would be going back into the workforce. The government has a
responsibility to end poverty through providing education, better programs, and jobs.

Which would eventually lead to a communism because if they were to solve poverty throughout the

to; the tax that the people would have to pay. There would also be arguments over blaming the poor
because people against the situation would make the argument of it being the individual s fault for

Anglicanism is a denomination within Christianity comprising the Church of England and churches
which are historically tied to it or have similar beliefs, worship practices and church structures.
Anglicans base their faith on the Bible, traditions of the apostolic the concept of apostolic succession,

having fully declared its independence from the Holy See at the time of the Elizabethan Religious

education for the females in the home. Women who could afford to be educated were instructed in
more artistic and moral subjects, to keep them busy and prepare them for being a respectable parent.
As men were sent off to war, women began to play a bigger role outside of the home. The Civil War
utilized women as government clerks and soon industrial jobs became available too. Later wars, like
World War I and II, saw women not just sewing but in munitions plants as well. Unfortunately, women
were paid at much lower rates than their male counterparts. The government realized there was a need
for educating the female population and the Smith Hughes Act of 1917 included home economics. ...

The Equal Pay Act demanded that wage discrimination based on sex be terminated. The act required
that women, doing the same job as their male counterpart, be paid the same wage. The Civil Rights
Act of 1964 stated that sex, race, color, religion, and national rights could no longer be used to deny
someone employment (Gordon, 2014). While these two acts were milestones, the largest landmark
was Title IX of the Vocational Education Act (VEA) of 1972. Title IX made the segregation of men
and women in education illegal. Schools could no longer deny women entry to programs based on
their sex. In 1976 amendments to the VEA mandated a sex equity coordinator be appointed to each
state to verify that the regulations in the act were being carried out. Lufkin et al. (2007)

Although the source is admittedly different, these levels are very much higher than those found in
outdoor urban background sites in the UK (around 15 g/m3).
Both epidemiological and experimental studies have shown that indoor air pollution has serious
consequences for health, especially in women and children.
Conditions such as acute lower respiratory infection, particularly pneumonia in children, chronic
obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), lung cancer and cataract are the major illnesses associated
with or caused by indoor air pollution (World Health Organization,
2002). Exposure to smoke from solid fuel increases the risk of COPD by approximately threefold in
adults, and the risk is much higher in women who do the cooking (Kurmi et al, 2010). Worldwide,
indoor air pollution accounts for 2 million deaths annually
(United Nations Development Programme, 2009) and
2.7% of the loss of disability adjusted life years (DALYs;
World Health Organization, 2002). In developing countries, 44% of these deaths occur in children, and
60% of the adult deaths occur in women (United
Nations Development Programme, 2009).
Apart from the local health effects, the burning of solid fuels can also have a much wider impact on
the environment. Although

Importance Of Association For Mental Health
Association for Mental Health (now MIND) was formed to campaign for better provision for the
mentally disabled.
The National Assistance (NA) Act, 1946, implemented 1948, abolished the Poor Law/Public
Assistance and established the National Assistance Board (NAB), which took over its institutions and
responsibility for means tested benefits. However, all hospitals were absorbed into the National Health
Service, also established 1948. Older and disabled people were divided into the sick , who were placed
in hospitals (c. 90,000 people) and those needing care and attention (c. 42,000) who were placed in
residential homes, overwhelmingly former workhouses. The NAAct required local authorities, under
the control of the NAB, to provide ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The NAB was responsible to the Minister of Health, but semi independent and required to work also
with the new Ministry of National Insurance, whose benefits it supplemented. The
National Assistance Act was piloted through the Commons jointly by the Minister of Health,
Aneurin Bevan and the Minister of National Insurance, Jim Griffiths. The boundary between health
care and social care was far from clear and could not easily be for older and disabled people. In 1966
the NAB was abolished and replaced by the Supplementary Benefits
Commission. In 1968 this was absorbed into a new Department of Health and Social Security which
replaced the Ministries of Health and National Insurance, where it remained until 1988, when a
separate Department of Health was established. Responsibility for local government moved
permanently from the Ministry of Health to a separate in department in 1951, further complicating the
relationship between health and social care.
Few new Homes or hospitals were constructed until the late 1950s due to financial constraints.
Surveys in the 1960s found deplorable conditions in both hospitals and Homes for older and disabled
people.
There was a trend from the 1950s towards the replacement of in patient with out patient treatment for
the mentally disabled, influenced by the increasing awareness of psychiatrists of the harmful effects of
long term institutional care for some people, and by the costs of institutions. In 1953 half of

slogan that everyone in the prison must change their real self in order to survive under totalitarianism.
War is peace is given a sense of anxiety that the Party can control the war anytime since they have

not a positive word to use for describing a free person. Since having a title of being a slave is already
taken away their freedom and human rights. And ignorance is strength, which shows that the Party
wants to control people s ability or right to learn. The Party thinks that no education is the power,
which they might afraid of anyone who was educated and try to go against them. Therefore, the Party
also create the language called Newspeak. The main aim of Newspeak is to narrow the range of
thought, it is the only language that destroys words instead of adding new ones, and the vocabulary

Comparing The Third Wish And The Monkey s Paw
Some people think that if they could only change one aspect of their lives, it would be perfect. They
do not realize that anything that is changed could come with unintended consequences. The Monkey s
Paw by W.W. Jacobs and The Third Wish by Joan Aiken both illustrate this theme. They demonstrate
this by granting the main character three wishes, but with each wish that is granted, brings undesirable
consequences. The main idea of this essay is to compare and contrast The Monkey s Paw and The
Third Wish. Although the The Monkey s Paw and The Third Wish are both fantasies and have similar
themes, they have different main characters, wishes, and resolutions. A good story, whether it is true,

Although regretting wishing another wish, Mr. White wishes Herbert, his son, to be alive again.
Unfortunately, Mr. White realizes that Herbert will return in his mutilated form, so he quickly wishes
for Herbert to return to the grave before his wife is traumatized. As Mr. White and his wife look out at
an empty street, awaiting Herbert s arrival, they are heartbroken knowing that they will probably never
see Herbert again. Unlike Mr. White s first wish, Mr. Peters wishes for a wife as beautiful as the
forest. However, Mr. Peters apprehends that Leita, his wife, will never be satisfied being a human,
because she longs to be with her swan sister. So, for his second wish, he wishes her back to swan
form. Now, without Leita Mr. Peters, as well as Mr. White, is heartbroken and a lonely man, once
again. Now, understanding that wishes only lead to misfortune, he decides not to use the third wish.
The end of a story, when all loose ends are tied and the reader knows what happens to the character(s),
can be described as the resolution. The theme of a story often goes along with the resolution as well.
The Monkey s Paw resolution is rather dark. Mr. White and his wife are heartbroken staring at an
empty street, knowing that they will never see their son again. The theme is if fate ruled people s lives,
and those who interfere with it do to their own sorrow. Overall, The Third Wish is much more of

Analysis Of After The First Death By Robert Cormier
Cruel things happen everywhere around the world today; there are things that make us question the
world that we live in. In the novel After the First Death written by Robert Cormier a terrorist hijacking
of a school bus filled with little kids is a cruel thing. In the book there are characters who are innocent
and then the characters who are not so innocent. Raymond, Kate , and Ben were innocent but, this
innocence was taken away from them by the end of this novel.
Raymond was one of the many little kids on the bus during the hijacking, when Raymond was first
introduced he was known as the chunkier kid. When the terrorists first hijacked the bus they gave all
the kids drugged candy to sedate them. On page 107 it stated To make up for being late. He kept his
room neat. He washed up good before eating. He did not fidget. He did not eat candy except at special
times (107). Raymond did not eat the candy that Artkin gave to him because he wasnt allowed to. He
was an innocent little boy who did as he was told but it was changed when the terrorists found out he
did not eat the candy. A second example from the text is Raymond s chin began to tremble. Whats
your name boy? Raymond. He said the name a whisper. His eyes were agonized as he confronted
Artkin (150). This is towards the end of the book and the two terrorists Arkin and Miro have realized
that Raymond must have not eaten the candy because he is awake and alert. After this was found out

Analysis Of Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night, By...
My interpretation of the two poems, And Death Shall Have No Dominion and Do Not Go Gentle into
That Good Night by Dylan Thomas, significantly align with the view that there is an inherent tension
between life and death which is explored through imagery in Dylan Thomas poetry. This is because of
the ideas explored in the poems, death should have no dominion/control/authority and that death is the
fate of all humans. Dylan Thomas illustrates these ideas by using poetic techniques, including
imagery.

The idea of death being the fate of all humans is expressed in this poem, it depicts the tension between
life and death. Dylan Thomas uses parallelism, symbolism and oxymorons to express this idea. Dylan
Thomas illustrates the idea of death being the fate of all humans by using parallelism. Thomas uses
parallelism in each stanza when naming the type of men; wise men, good men, wild men and grave
men. Thomas states that all these men will fall into death in the end. The symbolism here expresses
the idea of death being the fate for all humans. The line Old age should burn and rave close of day
symbolises the idea. This is because close of day symbolises death and old age is a metonymy. The
use of poetic devices here creates vivid images of life and death. In the last stanza, Thomas knows that
death is the fate of his father, Curse, bless, me now with with your fierce tears, I pray. The two
oxymorons here cure, bless and fierce tears give enrichment to the tension of life and death. The
inherent tension between life and death is explored throughout Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good

The Heroic Complexity Of The Human Heart
The human heart is by far one of the most complex units science has ever studied. The Cleveland
Clinic states the heart is made up of four chambers, and is encased by a double walled sac called the
Pericardium. On average the heart beats one hundred thousand times a day. It circulates blood through
two pathways: the pulmonary and systemic circuit. The heart contains electrical cells that make it
contract making a heartbeat. I could go on forever about the mosaic complexity of the human heart.
You see, that is what intrigues me, the complexity of the heart. The perplexity of people. The
miraculous factors that make up the human body. Like the heart, the face of medicine is also intricate.
It is beautiful, yet tragic. Is is ugly. yet fulfilling.

Republican Party Conformity
Conformity Within the Republican Party
One aspect of American society to which people should not conform is the platform of the Republican
party. The unwavering conformity of the Republican party prohibits its own members from making
progress. If a certain politician s view does not live up to the GOP s standards then they are
blacklisted. Each political party is entitled to their own ideas, but when any deviation from those ideas
spoils a candidate s chances, then you know the party has gone too far. As a disclaimer, this is not to
shun any republican opinions, it is merely to highlight the fact that the party s ideals have become
extremely restrictive, even amongst its own members. It is essential to recognize that democracy is
designed to function for a society that represents a diversity of opinion. One topic that is of constant
conversation all throughout politics is climate change. Republicans are often characterized by their

Tikki Davi Theme
Good vs. Evil the Obvious Claim for Rikki Tikki Tavi
Theme is a central message of a story, it also can be expressed by a generalization, or by a general
statement about humans or someone s life. It s overall the most important part of the story. I am
confident the theme of this story is good versus evil. I know that Rudyard Kipling wrote Rikki Tikki
Tavi because in the story evil snakes bully other animals in the garden, as well as the family. The
gigantic snakes pick on the tiny mongoose. The good is represented by the bravery found in Rikki

The antagonist was being selfish when she made Nag go an try to kill Rikki tikki, she was thinking of
herself and herself only. In this short story it states that Nagaina left Nag when it was her plan she told
Nag to kill Rikki tikki and his family. For determined to harm others the story clearly states that
Nagaina. You warned Rikki tikki, I would have to kill him. I thought that was a skilled quote of her
showing the reader that Nagaina was determined to kill Rikki tikki.
An alternative claim might be, the bigger one doesn t always win. Rikki tikki battled the two cobras
that were bigger than him. He came out with a win, Chuchundra was frightened he was gonna get
killed by Rikki tikki. He was frightened because he saw how little Rikki tikki was and he was able to
kill Nag and Nagaina. Chuchundra was even frightened to run out into the middle of the floor and face
Rikki tikki at Teddy s house.
It is clear that the theme in this short story is good versus evil. The theme in this story helps us know
that this story isn t about a mongoose and a snake! It is however, about bullying and good versus evil.
It is stated in this short story that Rikki tikki stuck up for his family and friends. One time I saw
someone bully a boy that was younger than him, and the younger kid conquered. That s how I can

It is inevitable crime in America is at an all time high and something needs to be done. I believe the
main thing that can be done to decrease the crime levels in America would be to incorporate

community should assign a few individuals to be the community patrol who work with their local

projects, low income, and ghettos in America were clean with well kept streets, buildings that were

Psychoanalyticism In The Tempest
The Tempest Critical Essay
During this course of the play the psychoanalytical criticism can be applied while reading the scenes
in The Tempest. As Freud argues that all humans have a dark side to them, we tend to hide this side of
us as we get older. In the Tempest, Caliban could represent this uncontrolled side of human nature.
Caliban is seen to be the superego which is can be seen to be evident when he does not wish to receive
Prospero s physical punishments. Despite his punishments, his desires fail to remain within him.
Caliban is also missing his mother in this play which leads him to feel inadequacy. Prospero is one of
the only obstacles between him and Miranda. Prospero s desire for power and control over the
characters in the play, shows Freud s theory coming into play, if one craves power, it is possibly
because one has lacked in its childhood.
This play has symbols that represent the imagery in it. The symbol water is often shown through this
play either by saying or showing it. The image of water is often shown to be deadly. As Ferdinand lost
his father at sea, he deems to think that his father drowned as they were involved in a shipwreck.
Water plays a huge symbol and image in this play as the setting takes place on an Island near the
Bermuda Triangle. Water in this play is to be seen as a lost. Ariel s song leads Ferdinand to think that
his father drowned at sea and is gone forever. Ariel s song

Common law has roots in the English system of law, it developed in England following the Norman
conquest of A.D. 1066, which became Common Law which was the body of the legal decision that
were made by the English court judges. This law started out was an oral law decision making that
resulted in the court judges walking around the country that would go town to town to try cases. This
was the nicknamed the unwritten law which resulted in the oral law that served as the precedent for
deciding successive cases with the same type of facts, and this lead to the doctrine called star decisis
which meant to stand by a decision which was previously decided. This doctrine was the one that gave
way to a rule that prior law decision made was to be followed, unless it is turned over with a new rule
established if there is no good reason to do so. So in terms that are easy to understand, if society
changes can decide that if a precedent is no longer valid, a court of law may decide that a precedent is
simply incorrect and will adjust accordingly.
Common law refers to that law

Attila The Hun Ruler
You might wonder to yourself who Attila the Hun is when you hear his name. Attila was a ruler for the
Hun army in the year 434 AD. Besides being the ruler, he was just like any other person who was a
Hun. He was normal height for a Hun, which was short. Attila s eyes were small and he had a snub
nose. Attila the Hun was born in the year 400 and died in the year 453. He began to rule the Huns in
the year 434. He ruled with his brother, Bleda, until year 445. That was the year Attila killed Bleda.
So, Attila ruled from the year 445 to year 453, the year he died, by himself. Him and his brother came
to power and succeeded the previous ruler, Rua. Rua was also known as Attila and Bleda s uncle. The
Hun army did not bring many benefits to other

The Pros And Cons Of Cyber Crime
Cyber crime is criminal activity done using computers and the Internet. This ranges from downloading
illegal music files to offenses, such as creating and distributing viruses on other computers or posting
private business information on the Internet.
Perhaps the most outstanding form of cyber crime is identity theft, in which wrongdoers use the web
to steal personal information from other users. One of the most frequent ways this is done is through
phishing. This method entices people to fake websites (that appear to be legitimate), where they are
asked to enter information about themselves. This includes inputting information, such as usernames
and passwords, mobile numbers, addresses, credit card numbers, and other information criminals can
use to gain another person s identity. Many people in developing countries are getting attracted
towards because of high unemployment and low wages . (Kshetri, 2010)
Another way this is done is through the use of viruses, There is a number of ways that you can get a
virus on your computer while on the other side someone is able to access all the data in your machine.
One of the most common way on how this is done is when an attachment is sent to you on email or
any other social networking site and when you open it, your machine ... Show more content on

It is a wrongful act to commit. More often than not it is also not clear which laws are being broken.
Cyber crime covers a wide range of wrong doings that are done using the web and the very same web
which has made our lives easier has also complicated stuff because there are people out there who like
to take advantage of unsuspecting people. Also sadly it is sometimes difficult to trace the person/s who
is or are doing it. So it is smart to protect yourself using anti viruses and spyware. In developing
countries they are not too keen on the laws broken unless it is a major cyber crime committed so it is
always best to be

Brief History of the Domestication of Cats and Dogs
You can find at least one cat or dog in almost every home in America. In fact, approximately 67
million households have pets and there are 164 million owned pets in the U.S. (U.S. Pet Ownership).
But, do we know where our beloved pets came from? Many know that the dog descended from wolves
and the cat descended from some larger wild cat but it is a little more complicated than that.
So just what country did cats originate from? Researchers found that cats have been involved with
humans for about 4,000 years. They also found a feline that roamed Eurasia and Africa more than 34
million years ago! That s a long time! This early cat weighed about twenty pounds and was the size of
the bobcats we see today. It was called the Proailurus, which means early cat (Cat History). The NC
Museum of Natural Scientists states that cats came to North America with Colonial settlers in the 1700
s. Humans have helped spread them throughout the world by keeping them as companions (Pushy
Plants).
Unlike dogs, cats are said to have domesticated themselves. When humans started settling North
America and farming land, cats came in and protected the crops from rodents. The humans saw that
they were good so they fed and protected the cats (Carver). The humans also began to store crops,
such as grain, and with storage, came rats. The cats were delighted by the great amounts of prey and
the people appreciated cats even more (Zax).
The earliest breed of cats in Europe was the Angora. Scientists

Pilot Deviations
Pilot Deviation, is defined as the actions that result in a deviation from Federal law. Pilot Deviation
Reports are used to document other incidents and violations of the Federal Aviation Regulations and
create unsafe situations. There are many types of Pilot Deviation situations, some of those include:
Operation of an aircraft in a reckless or careless manner (91.13), aircraft flying below 500 AGL, TFR
intrusions, wrongly operating an aircraft in special use airspace, and prohibited night flight operations.
Depending on the severity of the violation, you may be penalized from Administrative or Enforcement
Action, a 709 ride requirement, or even death. It is important to know what the deviation is and how to
avoid it. Most of the pilot deviations occur in the air (77%), the rest is unauthorized pilot deviations on
the ground (23%). Out of the in air deviations the majority of the situations is altitude clearance
violations (73%). The small ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although many of the incursions are due to the pilot, many incursions are a result of bad instructions
from the controller. Not only is it important to listen to commands, but to know when they are safe to
follow. If you know the instructions are unsafe then it is your responsibility to notify or question the
controller s commands. Everyone messes up at one point, and it is important to learn from your
mistakes. Crew Resource Management is a great tool for avoiding incursions. Inside the cockpit in a
stressful situation, it can help just to help spread to load to the rest of your resources at hand. This is
especially helpful midair flying IFR or in an emergency. Having multiple people helping and
calculating specific situations help spread the load so you re not swamped trying to judge who
situation as a whole. Many midair incursions could have been avoided if the pilot would have

Improving The Health Care System
Working to continually improve the health care system there are three aims that are required and must
be implemented simultaneously. A triple aims that has an impact on the cost decisions in managed care
are; improvement of the experience of care; amending the health care system as it relates to
communities, and reducing per capita costs of health care. Appropriate integration of these three rolls
known as the triple aim are five components of evaluation: partnership between providers and those
receiving care, redesigning of the primary care system, expansion of the population health
management, identification of financial management, and integration of the macro system. Reaching a
system that provides quality care with a decrease in cost is technical by nature, but unfortunately
influenced politically. One of the goals in managed care in relation to the triple aim is the development
of care for individuals that will allow them to expand and thrive. In the aggregate, we call those goals
the Triple Aim : improving the individual experience of care; improving the health of populations; and
reducing the per capita costs of care for populations, (Berwick, Nolan, Wittington, 2008, p. 759). By
balancing this form of an advanced system the society would see a continual improve the cost impact
of managed care. The overall advancement of managed care in which there is a significant impact on
cost is of cultivating interest to health care leaders. In a continuum to improve

Title IX Obligations
Introduction In recent years, the U.S. Department of Education s Office for Civil Rights has received
an increasing number of questions from parents and schools regarding civil rights protections for
transgender students. Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 prohibits discrimination in
educational programs/activities based on gender, including discrimination based on a student s gender
identity or transgender status. This letter, while it does not add requirements to applicable law,
provides significant guidance and encouragement regarding a school s Title IX obligations for
transgender students and how a school is evaluate for compliance with these obligations. Relevant
Terminology: Gender identity: refers to an individual s sense of gender, may be different from one s
assigned gender at birth
Sex assigned at birth: gender that is designated on an infant s birth certificate
Transgender: describes individuals whose gender identity differs from their sex assigned at birth

Under Title IX, a school must begin treating a student consistent with their gender identity when they
are notified by the student or student s parent or guardian that the student will identify with a gender
that differs from previous records. No medical diagnosis or treatment is required. Requiring students
to produce documentation of their new gender identity in order to participate in an educational
program/activity may be a violation under Title IX, as these documents are often difficult to obtain
due to legal restrictions. As commonly recognized in civil rights cases, the desire to accommodate the
discomfort of others cannot justify denying equal access to a particular class of

The Three Reasons Of Japanese Culture
I have three reasons of studying tea ceremony. First reason is that I wanted to revise Japanese culture.
I am always interested in Japanese culture. When I was a junior high school, I played Kendo. When I
was a high school student, I played Kyudo. From these experiences, I was very impressed with
Japanese culture because I could understand how Japanese culture thinks and cares other people. For
example in Kendo and Kyudo, even if I win the game, I do not have to show my feeling to the others.
The reason of this is to respect and appreciate an opponent. I think it is very important thing as a
human. Everyone cannot live alone so we need to live with supporting each other. To support each
other, that spirit will be needed. That is why I love ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
First reason is that I wanted to get the knowledge of Japanese culture as Japanese. Some people say it
is wrong to say like this, if you are Japanese, you must be able to play Sumo wrestling . I also think it
is not good to say or think in that way however, I want to know Japanese culture because I want to
value Japanese identity. Second reason is that I wanted to have more friends through the class. I am
not good at communicating with people so I do not have so many friends. However, I thought I could
make friends by drinking green tea because I think one of the purposes of tea ceremony is to meet new
friends. That is why I took this class with believing to be able to have new friends. As a result, I could
have many new friends and they are all kind people. As I expected, tea ceremony was the place, which
gives the wonderful encounter. Moreover, I could really enjoy this class with other students. Third
reason is that I want to make green tea to my mother. When I was a young, she took me to the tea
ceremony many times. Therefore I could know how beautiful Japanese culture is and how elegant tea
ceremony is. If I did not experience tea ceremony, I would not recognize the wonderfulness of
Japanese culture and choose this university APU. Therefore I can have a good experience in APU now.
It is because my mother taught me these cultures. That is why I thought I want to make green tea for
her with my gratitude. However, I did

Ancient Egypt Math
Abstract: This article discusses Ancient Egyptian Mathematics and the discovery of the Rosetta Stone
which opened a door to the treasures of Ancient Egyptian. Egyptians had a great amount of knowledge
in mathematics whether it was in arithmetic, fractions, algebra, geometry or even measurement. It still
remains a mystery of how they reached their mathematical conclusions but there exist records which
contain collections of mathematical exercises. We shall study the Egyptian number system and its
symbols. We will also take a closer look at their different computation methods regarding multiplying
and dividing. Introduction There has always been a level of fascination amongst people when it came
to the Egyptian culture. People have pondered upon the skill and calculations it took to build the great
pyramids of Giza. There is an abundance of evidences in the architecture and design of many Egyptian
artifacts to display the level of intelligence and knowledge the people of Egypt possessed. Even
though there are still many unanswered questions about how the ... Show more content on

This allows us to decipher many ancient documents that contained valuable information such as the
Rhind Papyrus which contained many mathematical exercises. The exercises were practice problems
for students and some of the problems were written in form of a puzzle or a riddle. The Egyptians
used a base ten system and had different symbols for one and each power of ten up to one million.
Grouping and regrouping was used for addition and subtraction while binary multiples were used for
multiplication and division. Egyptian division was very precise and accurate and all the answers were
exact and there was no round off an answer. All fractions used were unit fraction but there was an
exception of two fractions two thirds and three fourths. Egyptian geometry was limited to area,

Customer Based Brand Equity for Global Brands: A Multinational Approach
Eda Atilgan Serkan Akinci Safak Aksoy Erdener Kaynak
ABSTRACT. Focusing on the dimensions and measurement, this study is based on the concept of
brand equity for global brands with empirical evidence from three economically and culturally
dissimilar countries USA, Turkey, and Russia. The brand equity for global brands can be measured
under four basic dimensions: perceived quality, brand loyalty, brand associations, and brand trust.
Emergence of brand trust as a new dimension instead of brand awareness complies ... Show more

Although it is apparent that customer based brand equity has multiple dimensions, there is no general
agreement in current marketing literature as to the nature and content of these dimensions. Previous
research has proposed two (e.g., Faircloth, Capella, Alford, 2001; Keller, 1993), three (e.g., Han
Collins, 2002; Netemeyer et al., 2004), four (e.g., Aaker, 1991; Yoo et al., 2000), five (e.g., Lassar,
Mittal, Sharma, 1995), and even eight (e.g., Vazquez, Del Rio, Iglesias, 2002) dimensions. However,
many of these brand equity dimensions have not been systematically measured or validated within a
nomological framework (Netemeyer et al., 2004). For example, the existence and function of trust
have not been fully investigated within the context of brand equity. On the globalization front,
branding has received increasing attention from marketing academicians. The two prominent reasons
for this are increased cross border population mobility and electronic mobility, both of which
contributed to faster transfer of ideas and a global convergence in consumer tastes and values (Quelch,
1999). Global brands, as defined by Aaker and Joachimsthaler (1999), are those brands whose
positioning, advertising strategy, personality, look, and feel are in most respects the same from one
country to another. Reviewing the top 10 global brands, Quelch identified

  • 2. Heroin Intervention Paper Introduction The research discussed in this paper explores the impact of heroin on the population as well as its impact on the methods healthcare workers use to treat the individuals who are struggling with this addiction. Three articles were analyzed to determine the influence of this issue on society as well as how nurse led rehabilitation can be utilized to improve client outcomes and reduce relapse. This epidemic is quickly becoming one of the leading causes of death in the United States as well as the rest of the world, and as a result new interventions and ideas must be taken into consideration to help improve the outcomes of treatment. Heroin use in the general population has increased from 373,000 in 2007 to 914,000 in 2014 and drug ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... An issue in the healthcare field when discussing drug dependence in the patient population is the stigma that follows these individuals. These patients are struggling with an addiction process that most nurses and other healthcare workers do not completely understand. As a result of this disconnect between patient and nurse there is often a lack of truthful communication from the patient for fear of having this stigma affect the treatment they receive. In this article a real situation was discussed in which a patient was not properly medicated for pain after a cholecystectomy based on the knowledge of the healthcare staff pertaining to her utilization of the Community Alcohol and Drug Services program. This individual was stigmatized and put through intense pain based on the decisions made by staff that who took it upon themselves to make choices for her because of her past opiate use (Hughes and McKay, 2012). This example notes the poor ethical treatment of a patient pain based on discriminatory judgment by the health care ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Early Stages Of Dementia Essay Each person may experience dementia in different ways. Fluctuation of needs and abilities It is not fully known why somebody with dementia can have good days and bad days . Part of the answer for this could be because we all have good and bad days. This very much depends on how we are feeling, how much sleep we have had, what activity we are doing and how much we want to do that activity. If you do not like doing something, it seems to take forever to get it over and done with. The time drags and your level of boredom or uninterest rises. On the other hand, when you are doing something you enjoy, the time rushes by so that before you know it the activity comes to an end. This theory could also relate to the person with dementia. If the person ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, take the person out of their familiar surroundings and out of their routine, and their confusion will grow, causing their symptoms to be more obvious. Stress has been identified to have an effect on our memory. In the early stages of dementia, the person may be fully aware that they have forgotten where they have put things. This can cause their stress levels to rise, resulting in added memory difficulties, frustration and confusion. In these earlier stages it is important for you as a care worker to give the person emotional support. Do not be tempted to take over what they are having difficulty with. Help them to calm down and think about what they are doing. The more the person becomes agitated, the greater their difficulties will become. As the condition progresses, the more support the person will require. This will include support with day to day activities. You can give support through reminding the person what they need to do. Do not overload them as this will increase their stress and therefore their symptoms. If the person asks you a question and repeats it several times within a short space of time, answer it as though it is the first time you have heard the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Five Stages Of Grief It s ironic that Elizabeth Kubler Ross theory, of the five stages of grief is present in the story Hamlet by William Shakespeare after so many centuries later. Hamlet is believed to be the most dramatic play in history, and comes with many personal conflicts that people still today will struggle with. In Hamlet , the main character, Hamlet goes through the 5 stages of grief throughout the story. Elizabeth Kubler Ross developed a theory based on how she believes to be the stages of acceptance of death. The 5 stages of grief and loss are: 1. Denial and isolation; 2. Anger; 3. Bargaining; 4. Depression; 5. Acceptance. People who are grieving do not necessarily go through the stages in the same order or experience all of them. (Axelrod, 2016) Even though, Hamlet repeats some of these stages, and is involved in multiple stages at the same time, he does in fact experience through all these stages. Hamlet the Danish prince, son of Gertrude, grieve for the death of his father. The unexpected passing of his father causes Hamlet to experience a roller coaster of emotions. The death of his father is not the only thing he struggles with, but the marriage between his mother and uncle troubles him also. He feels as if his mother has betrayed him, and did not give him the proper time to grief over the fatality of his father. Claudius, Hamlet s uncle, not only replaced his father, but he also inherited the throne that was supposed to be passed down to Hamlet. When Horatio and the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In the Narrative of the Life of Fredrick Douglass, Fredrick Douglass writes about his journey of being practically dumb, beaten, and often mistreated. Douglass is a person whom I can personally relate to, because we have so many similarities. He is a goal driven determined man, and that s how I consider myself. The fact that Douglass cannot read or write is very astonishing to me, for the simple fact that I have never read about anything about him. Douglass appears to not know his birthday or even his age; wouldn t it only be right to tell the slaves about themselves since they are already getting their freedom taken away? • 6. The Tension Between National Security And Individual Privacy The Situation The tension between national security and individual privacy has long existed even before the development of digitized information. Recently, two main forces have advanced the debate over this balance to the forefront of the public eye: 1) the proliferation of data by private sector companies and 2) the heightened need for homeland security and public defense. With the rapid evolution of technology, companies have aggregated pools of consumer data to improve upon internal decision making. In some cases, however, this data can be leveraged to ensure national security and public safety. This juxtaposition of enterprise and security results in a blurring of the line dividing public and private sector responsibilities. The question becomes an issue of moral obligation versus legal responsibility. What are we as consumers and citizens willing to sacrifice in exchange for safety? And does the private sector inevitably succumb to obligations originating from the public sector? The company on the forefront of this issue is Apple. After the tragic events in San Bernardino, CA on December 2, 2015, the United States FBI located an iPhone 5C belonging to one of the terrorists. The FBI, however, was unable to access the phone and formally requested Apple to unlock the device to facilitate the search for information about the killers. Apple swiftly refused and after several weeks of back and forth, the FBI filed a case against Apple (Nakashima April 2016). This case ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

At age one, my family discovered he was 100% deaf. When he was three, he was diagnosed with CHARGE Syndrome, an incredibly rare and complex congenital disorder. However, she also writes, The Southern white man says it is impossible for a voluntary alliance to exist between a white woman and a colored man, and therefore, the act of an alliance is a proof of force. Even though they know that the acts had been completely consensual, the white males continued this butchery of the blacks. Anything that could be thought up, even if it lacked truth or evidence, was used as excuses for these continued forms of slavery. When Louis asks the Rabbi if he could leave Prior for the better good of progress and the future, the Rabbi replies by stating he has no solution for Louis, because Catholics believe in Forgiveness. Jews believe in Guilt, so Louis, as Jew, will suffer by that choice (25). • 11. The Efficient Market Hypothesis Introduction There is a fierce debate on whether stock market is efficient all these years. Some people advocated Fama s research in 1960s, and they believe that the Efficient Markets Hypothesis has been well established. However, others do not agree with. They found some evidence to prove market inefficient by empirical researches. This essay mainly focuses on the Efficient Markets Hypothesis, and there are six parts to discuss. Firstly, it will compare the random walk theory and the weak form of the Efficient Markets Hypothesis; Secondly, it will choose two empirical studies against the weak form of the Efficient Markets Hypothesis; Thirdly, it will assess the semi strong form with the weak form the Efficient Markets Hypothesis; Fourthly, it will evaluate the semi strong form of the Efficient Markets Hypothesis by two of empirical studies; Fifthly, it will identify the contrast between the strong form of the Efficient Markets Hypothesis with both weak form and semi strong form; Last but not least, it will use one empirical study to judge the strong form. The random walk theory is a financial theory asserting that stock market prices change randomly and no one can predict their trends of patterns (Brealey et al., 2012). Bachelier first proposed the concept of the random walk theory in 1900 (Fama, 1970). However, it is well known by Kendall in 1953 (Brealey et al., 2012). The government isn t always out to get people, in fact they often want to help, and by deciding on creating the Sherman Antitrust Act they indeed helped many a consumer get away from high and unfair prices. Besides, this economy, being of a competitive nature since our revolution, will not be left alone to be ruined by the many monopolies dominating it. The government often looks to protect this economy, resulting in the action to stop monopolies from ruling the market. Additionally, John Sherman, Secretary of Treasury under President Rutherford B. Hayes, Senator of Ohio, and principal author of the Sherman Antitrust Act, tells us of a reason of his own for this law being drawn up. The reason, as stated by Mr. Sherman, is to protect the country from the foul effects of the buildings of monopolies, rather than the final end result of the monopolies. There have been two major types of game series: the Bowl Championship Series (BCS) and the College Football Playoffs (CFP). The BCS was introduced to have the best teams in the nation voted to secure spots in bowl games, determining who is the best team of that year. The CFP let all games in the regular season help a team reach the playoffs and play in the championship game to be declared the NCAA champions. Although many people claim that the CFP s are the best option for the NCAA, many people argue that the BCS is the better choice to conclude the football season, which leads to think if the change to the CFP was the right choice. After her breakout in 1956, Dalida s breathtaking beauty and distinctive voice made her an instant star, which gave her all the riches and spoils one could hope for, but amplified her vulnerabilites and weaknesses which fame and success exploited. Directed by Liza Azuelos (LOL), the film tells the singer s story in a non linear way, beginning with her lying to her brother in a French airport in 1967, then secretly heading to a Parisian hotel. She is reeling from the recent suicide of her lover, burgeoning Italian pop singer Luigi Tenco, and has decided to attempt to take her own life. Not successful, she then is moved to a facility and doctors bring in those closest to her to learn more about her struggles. We traverse through her life at a relatively rapid speed, making Dalida a film that quickly becomes a highlight reel of a subject s life. Born Iolanda Gigliotti, she was bullied and rejected by her peers in grade school and saw her family persecuted during World War II. Her vocal talents soon emerged and in her early 20 s she was discovered by radio station magnate Lucien Morisse (NAME). So taken with one another, Morisse left his wife for Iolanda and began managing her career. Once stardom begin to swirl around Dalida, her rise is rather meteoric and ... Employers have a legitimate interest in monitoring their employees in the workplace. Besides efficiency and productivity, employers want to protect their agencies from possible employee misconduct, fraud, and misrepresentation. Current legal trends seem to indicate that employer interests are going to be given deference, especially if the workplace continues to experience signs of increased destructive behaviors (thefts, workplace violence, copyright infringement, etc.). At times, employee surveillance is viewed as absolutely necessary. Unfortunately, there are virtually no clear cut laws that regulate employee monitoring in the workplace. In order to protect yourself, understand your employer s policy on employee monitoring and know your privacy rights if your employer abuses monitoring in the workplace. The Privacy Issue One of the most interesting, yet controversial areas concerning employment is that of privacy. Employers and employees alike are trying to discern what limits should a company have over intrusions into, and claims over employees behaviors and personal properties. The advent of the ... Most households could not afford an education for the females in the home. Women who could afford to be educated were instructed in more artistic and moral subjects, to keep them busy and prepare them for being a respectable parent. As men were sent off to war, women began to play a bigger role outside of the home. The Civil War utilized women as government clerks and soon industrial jobs became available too. Later wars, like World War I and II, saw women not just sewing but in munitions plants as well. Unfortunately, women were paid at much lower rates than their male counterparts. • 39. Psychoanalyticism In The Tempest The Tempest Critical Essay During this course of the play the psychoanalytical criticism can be applied while reading the scenes in The Tempest. As Freud argues that all humans have a dark side to them, we tend to hide this side of us as we get older. In the Tempest, Caliban could represent this uncontrolled side of human nature. Caliban is seen to be the superego which is can be seen to be evident when he does not wish to receive Prospero s physical punishments. Despite his punishments, his desires fail to remain within him. Caliban is also missing his mother in this play which leads him to feel inadequacy. Prospero is one of the only obstacles between him and Miranda. Prospero s desire for power and control over the characters in the play, shows Freud s theory coming into play, if one craves power, it is possibly because one has lacked in its childhood. This play has symbols that represent the imagery in it. The symbol water is often shown through this play either by saying or showing it. The image of water is often shown to be deadly. As Ferdinand lost his father at sea, he deems to think that his father drowned as they were involved in a shipwreck. Water plays a huge symbol and image in this play as the setting takes place on an Island near the Bermuda Triangle. Water in this play is to be seen as a lost. This was the nicknamed the unwritten law which resulted in the oral law that served as the precedent for deciding successive cases with the same type of facts, and this lead to the doctrine called star decisis which meant to stand by a decision which was previously decided. In fact, approximately 67 million households have pets and there are 164 million owned pets in the U.S. (U.S. Pet Ownership). But, do we know where our beloved pets came from? Many know that the dog descended from wolves and the cat descended from some larger wild cat but it is a little more complicated than that. So just what country did cats originate from? Researchers found that cats have been involved with humans for about 4,000 years. They also found a feline that roamed Eurasia and Africa more than 34 million years ago! That s a long time! This early cat weighed about twenty pounds and was the size of the bobcats we see today. It was called the Proailurus, which means early cat (Cat History). The NC Museum of Natural Scientists states that cats came to North America with Colonial settlers in the 1700 s. Humans have helped spread them throughout the world by keeping them as companions (Pushy Plants). Unlike dogs, cats are said to have domesticated themselves. When humans started settling North America and farming land, cats came in and protected the crops from rodents. The humans saw that they were good so they fed and protected the cats (Carver). The humans also began to store crops, such as grain, and with storage, came rats. The cats were delighted by the great amounts of prey and the people appreciated cats even more (Zax). The earliest breed of cats in Europe was the Angora. Scientists ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Although it is apparent that customer based brand equity has multiple dimensions, there is no general agreement in current marketing literature as to the nature and content of these dimensions. Previous research has proposed two (e.g., Faircloth, Capella, Alford, 2001; Keller, 1993), three (e.g., Han Collins, 2002; Netemeyer et al., 2004), four (e.g., Aaker, 1991; Yoo et al., 2000), five (e.g., Lassar, Mittal, Sharma, 1995), and even eight (e.g., Vazquez, Del Rio, Iglesias, 2002) dimensions. However, many of these brand equity dimensions have not been systematically measured or validated within a nomological framework (Netemeyer et al., 2004). For example, the existence and function of trust have not been fully investigated within the context of brand equity.
