their new product (Clean Edge) in the market.
2. Situation Analysis:

Context * Nowadays, consumers are becoming more sophisticated and they tends looking for new
technologies (innovation and creation). They invest more money to buy the products that would
satisfy their needs. The old law of business said that a satisfied customer brings ten more.
3. Alternatives:
Option One : A Niche product
A niche product is made and marketed for use in a small capacity and specialized, but very profitable.
Niche strategy targeting the most intensely involved super premium consumers who look for superior
skin care products.
Option Two : A Mainstream Brand
A mainstream brand require a higher marketing budget in order to reach larger target.
Conclusion:
This option which using mainstream brand assumes that Paramount will get higher revenue rather than
using niche strategy. On the other side, Paramount still thinking to use this strategy because of the
high cost and given that the strategy using more marketing support and $42 million marketing budget
would be needed for one year. Paramount should pursued this strategy, unless the cost of marketing
budget could not be cover by sales revenue of Clean Edge.
4. Recommendation:
After review the information on past and estimated in the future, company, products, competitors and
branding, I recommend the following strategy: * Paramount should taking mainstream brand *

What Is The Events That Justified The United States Entry...
When World War 1 started in 1914, United States president Woodrow Wilson promised non
participation of his country. The conflict appeared characteristic of the rottenness of old Europe, which
favored the neutrality position of majority of American citizens. However, a series of implacable
events dragged the United States into the war. This paper will discuss the events that justified the
United States entry into World War 1 while exploring the roles which public opinion should play when
making such decisions in comparison to expert policy makers opinions. In addition, other available
options that should have been put into consideration will be explored.
Despite the neutrality standpoint of the United States, tension began to rise between ... Show more

These incidents combined with dwindling diplomatic relations between Germany and the United
States increased anti German feelings in America.
Another factor that majorly influenced American public opinion was stories run by British press
regarding invasion of neutral Belgium by Germany. Allegations of small towns being eliminated and
innocent civilians being killed angered and stunned the Americans. Although some of these stories
were fabricated to serve as British propaganda, they served their purpose of prompting a strong anti
German sentiment.
The protection of its economic interests was also a major factor, which influenced the decision for
America to participate in World War 1. American businesspersons such as J.P. Morgan who were
interested in victory of the alliance funded French and British wars. These funds, roughly 3 billion US
Dollars were mainly in form of loans and bond purchases. This led to the fear that incase Central
Powers (Germany, Bulgaria, Austria Hungary and the Ottoman Empire) emerged victorious; the Allies
(France, Britain and Italy) would be unable to repay these debts. As a measure to counter this risk,
these businessmen united to support a campaign movement; Preparedness Movement , which pushed
for America to intervene in the war and support the Allied forces.
In 1917, a telegram signal from

Ever since the “Roaring 20’s”,its been almost unachievable...
Ever since the Roaring 20 s ,its been almost unachievable to pass a even a day without using
technology. Us commoners nowadays use technology for everything. From communication and
education,we are constantly glued to our electronics,so that we can keep up with each other, get
instant information, and all in all, get things done! Therefore, it is no exaggeration to say that
technology is a huge part of our lives. But what if something happened, that could make all that vital
technology inaccessible? We would probably be screwed. In the novel Lord of the Flies,by William
Golding, a devastating plane crash leaves a group of boys on a deserted island with nothing but their

It can also be used as a giant fan if i whip it around quickly. In essence, even though bringing a
blanket with me to an island sounds impractical,it comes in handy, and thats why I m bringing it. Last
but not least, the third item i would bring is a lifetime supply of food. This is obviously necessary
considering the fact that I am a human, and humans need to eat.Contrary to Lord of the Flies, I don t
think i would have the guts to hunt and eat a raw, wild, pig. Just the thought of it grosses me out and
like i said before, I m lazy and wouldn t go through the trial and error of hunting. And although fruit is
pretty good, I can t imagine eating it all the time. Having my own food supply would allow me to be
independent, because I don t have to rely on anyone, any animal, or even nature, for food. Another big
reason to have some food with me, is that I could use it as negotiation to get myself rescued a lot more
quicker. If a random ship comes by, I could just give them some food if they bring me back home. that
would make life easier, and it s common sense. All these reasons aside, I would obviously need food,
so that s the third thing I m bringing with me. It s obvious that we have become way too dependent on
technology. With all this technology making our lives easier, it s hard sometimes to think outside the
box. However, I know that if something similar to what happened to the boys in Lord of the Flies
happened to me,i could maintain myself

Marketing Case Study a New Joe on the Block Essay
Written Assignment 1: A New Joe on the Block
November 4, 2011
[Question 1]
In my opinion, there are two top key decisions that Joe faces in regards to his situation. The first key
decision is determining the basis for which Joe will model his coffee shop after. With supporting
evidence from research, he must determine which indicators on taste/experience/price/etc. will
ultimately establish his positioning in the competitive market. This is an important decision because it
narrows the scope of his coffee shop s situation and will aid him in taking the necessary steps towards
determining key factors for success.
The second key decision that Joe encounters is whether or not he should enlist the help of a marketing

consumer preferences.
The second major flaw in the coffee taste studies is the existence of external variables. It is evident
that the first and third studies had underlying variables that may have significantly affected their
outcomes. The first study notes that the author of this study personally purchased coffee to go at four
places, took them to his office, tasted them, made notes and drew conclusions (pg. 63). This indicates
a major flaw of this particular study because the time frames for which each cup of coffee was
obtained and then consumed are inconsistent.
The third study also indicates the existence of possible external variables given the location in which it
was conducted. According to the text, the researchers stood outside a small organic specialty shop and
interviewed 100 customers as they exited the shop (pg. 63). Based on the choice of location, it can be
argued that the results of this study mainly coincide with the preferences of consumers with a high
interest in organic products.
[Question 4]
Given the situation, a determination can be made about its relation to each of the first three steps in the
marketing research process. At this point, Joe has already undertaken some actions that are consistent
with the defining research objectives step. The first thing that Joe has done is define his situational
problem. Although it appears to be lacking in content and clarity, he recognizes that a great deal of

USA. It provides wide range of network services that included telephone services, short message
services and FAX. It supports 24.7 kbps data rate. And third is CDMA (code division multiple access)
that supports 14.4kbps data rate and was much compatible by AMPS system which was used in first
generation. GSM (Global system for mobile communication)
Global system for mobile communication was widely used by 2G and it was standardised in Europe in
1992 but it is now used worldwide. In 1998 there were around 100 million subscribers of GSM and it
reached 500 million subscribers at the end of year 2002 and it s exceeding to 10 billion at the end of
year 2004. The GSM technology is based on the TDMA (Time division multiple access) and FDMA
(Frequency division multiple access) techniques. GSM works at 900 MHz and 1800 MHz frequency
bands in Europe and 1900 MHz frequency bands used in North America.

Calcific or Degenerative Aortic Valve Disease
AORTIC STENOSIS
Calcific or degenerative aortic valve disease is considered one of the most, if not the most, common
valvular lesion encountered among elderly patients.( Iung B, Baron G, Butchart EG, et al.) In fact, as
shown in the Helsinki Aging Study, 501 randomly selected people, men and women, in an age range
from 75 to 86 underwent echocardiography. (Iivanainen AM, Lindroos M, Tilvis R, et al) The outcome
of the research was that, the prevalence of critical aortic stenosis increased with age from 1 to 2
percent in those patients aged between 75 and 76, up to almost 6 percent in those 86 years of age
(Lindroos M, Kupari M, Heikkilä J, Tilvis R.)
The risk factors associated with the development of calcific aortic stenosis in elderly adults are similar
to those for atherosclerosis. Some examples of significant risk factors for the degeneration of aortic
valve disease can be the age of the patient, the gender, current cigarette smoking, hypertension, high
serum concentrations of lipoprotein(a) and low density lipoprotein cholesterol. (Iung B, Baron G,
Butchart EG, et al.)
The two most common causes of aortic stenosis severe enough to require surgery are calcification of
congenital bicuspid aortic valves and degenerative calcification of tricuspid aortic valves (Roberts
WC, Ko JM. ) Aortic valve calcification, scored by computed tomography (CT), can be helpful in
diagnosis of severe aortic stenosis in the patient. (Marincheva Savcheva G, Subramanian S, Qadir S, et
al.)

Role Of Women In WWII
Role of Women The role of women during WWII was heavily impacted by propaganda during the
1930s 1940s, some of which had motivated women to take on generally masculine duties, some of
which didn t. In the article Manning the Factories : Propaganda and Policy on the Employment of
Women, 1939 1947 written by Susan L. Carruthers, talks about the decrease in women employment.
Susan writes of a remobilization campaign for women called Women Must Work which was meant to
get women back into the workforce but because of the lack of exposure this campaign wasn t
effective. The fact that women were wanted back contrasted with the social norms at the time. The
researchers of Mass Observation had written about the difficulties of influencing women with
propaganda were more perspective to visual representation but failed to analyze abstract ideas making
it hard to mobilize the women. In March 1941, Ernest Berwin, Minister of Labor, tries to appeal to
100,000 women to come forward for war work in the next two weeks. Berwin received quite the
negative feedback where many women believed it to be ill timing and miscalculated. The WWC,
Women s Consultative Committee was organized soon after in attempt to help amend for any of the
mistakes made by the Ministry of Labor, it did insufficient bolster to Berwin s speech . In general
there were many posters addressed to women, all which had the same underlying message that women
could help the men win the war. The posters themselves had no

A Deeper Look Into Child Welfare Services
A Deeper Look into Child Welfare Services

In the United States, there are programs designed to protect children. There are foster care, group
homes, and other services for children safety. The Child Protective Services in Alabama has the sole
purpose of helping children in cases of neglect and abuse (Child Protective Services). These services
include foster care programs where children who are at risk of harm from birth family, or who suffers

With the media portraying foster care as a negative solution to a very serious issue, does not work well
with getting children out of their current situations. No one really exhibits how the children feel in
foster care in the media, but studies show, children in the foster care system may not view their
situation as negative. These children may have a great experience in foster care, even though there are
a few flawed areas in the system. Their perception of foster care may be very different from the
workers of child protection services and the media s perception (Chapman, Wall, Barth, 2004;
Ellingsen, Stephens, Storksen, 2012; Fernandez, 2007; Jones Kruk, 2005). The children s perception
of foster care is the most important perception dince they are the ones who has to live in the system.
The Foster Care System
The foster care system in the United States is viewed negatively and the media portrays it as such. The
public only knows what the media tells them about the foster care system. The stereotypical views are
mostly what is thought the foster care system consisted of, not what goes on behind the scenes (Leber
LeCroy, 2012). The only people who would have a good insight on what goes on behind the scenes are
the people that are involved, which are the caregivers, the social workers, the biological families, and
the children. Their placements, relationships with their caregivers, and stability all had factors of how
the foster care system was

The Regency Society During The Regency Period
During the Regency society, what made a man a true gentleman is still a confusing matter for many
Austenesque and Regency readers (Grace). Many of the 19th century occupations have vanished
because of changes in taste, socials customs, and technological advances (Pool 235). While some of
the men during the Regency period were extremely wealthy, there were others that faced financial
hardships (Grace). Most of time, the road of apprenticeship often led to a successful life and good
fortune (Pool 240). The most gentlemanly professions during the Regency period were the clergymen,
lawyers, and army officers.
Many of the men during the Regency period that desired to keep their status as a gentleman often went
into a church profession (Grace). Many gentlemen that were OxBridge graduates and younger
brothers entered the clergy (Ray 189). For many families that had a steady, guaranteed income, the
church was a popular option for them (Grace). There were two different types of clergyman, vicar and
curate. While being a clergyman required no strenuous physical labor, it did require a Honors degree
either from Oxford or Cambridge (Grace; Ray 189). For the most part, the gentry class were the only
ones that could actually afford a degree from Oxford or Cambridge to become a clergyman (Ray 189).
Another job opportunity in the church included the priest. The priests during this time were respected
by society mostly because of their association with the church (Ray 189). In the novel,

Alexander Graham Bell Has Changed The Way Our World
Alexander Graham Bell
Have you ever thought about life what life was like when communication was hard? If you were far
away from someone you would either have to write or walk, and both of those would take a long time
to get a message somewhere. The introduction of the telephone changed the way our world worked. If
you have used a phone anytime in your life, and almost everyone has, you need to thank the creator,
Alexander Graham Bell. Alexander Graham Bell has changed the way our world works, thanks to his
many famous and important inventions.
On March 3, 1847 in Edinburgh, Scotland, Alexander Bell, the teacher of the deaf and Scottish born
American inventor was born. Alexander s middle name Graham was not added until he was about ten
years old. He added his middle name because he also wanted one like his brothers. His father gave
him his middle name as his birthday present. He was the middle child and both of his brothers passed
away from tuberculosis later in his life. Tuberculosis is a fatal disease that attacks the lungs. His
grandfather was an elocution professor and his father was an expert on elocution and the mechanics of
the voice. Elocution is the art of public speaking. He was homeschooled for most of his life by his
mother and he got one year of schooling at a private school and two years at Edinburgh High School.
His mother was nearly deaf and was a very talented piano player and painter which inspired him to do
big things in his lifetime. Bell also knew

Gloria Anzaldua And Dear White People
Struggles with Identity
Finding your identity can be hard for some people. Your identity obviously makes you who you are.
Gloria Anzaldua s To Live in the Borderlands (1987) and Justin Simien s Dear White People (2014)
had a couple things in common when related to identity. In the poem, she talks about being between
the borderlands and trying to find who you are based on where you are from and where you are now. I
see a similar concept of not being able to decide who you really are in several characters in Dear
White People. When I think of the struggles with identity in both the poem and the movie, I think of
the tug of war game. The reader, or character in the movie, is in the middle and having both sides of
who they are on each ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
You are the battle ground where enemies are kin to each other and you are at home, a stranger is where
that situation really stands out. She is saying that she is the middle man of two different sides. In this
case, I see it being between her homeland and where she is now. When she writes you are at home, a
stranger meaning when she goes back to where she grew up, she is not the same person she once was
and her family and friends do not recognize her. If I picture this poem as visual aspect, I see the reader
in the middle and the hometown on one side and the current residence on the other playing tug of war
and the reader cannot decide who should win.
When I watch Dear White People I see the same features come through as with the overall aspect of
To Live in the Borderlands. Rather than one person with identity issues in the poem, in the movie
there are several people with this problem. The first person that really stands out to me when I think
identity conflictions is, Samantha White. We see her being strong and forceful for the black
community on Winchester campus and then see her sleeping with Gabe, a white man. Right off the
bat, we see some in between from choosing to be with a white man and sticking up for the black
community. It only gets more conflicting as the movie goes on. She is still back and forth with the
community and with Gabe. As the movie comes to an end, we find out that Sam has a white father and
she was never really

humanity in the mid 1700s, It created an impact so big, that everyone started to question their future.
Although some people never took Astrology, many thought it was a superstitious belief, some thought
it was very much unreal. On the other hand some thought it was the key to changing their destiny, and

Female Repression of the 19th Century as Seen Thru the Two...
For centuries man has created this patriarchal society in which women have been treated as the lesser
entity, having no sense of self being or worth. These feelings led women to feel repressed in their
everyday life. It was in the late nineteenth century when literary writers started to expose this female
repression. Guy de Maupassant and Kate Chopin clearly express definitive examples of female
repression in their stories, The Necklace and The Story of an Hour. During this time period, women s
role in society was that of a submissive, powerless position. They often relied solely on their husband
for direction, allowing the husband to make decisions and take lead no matter what. In the story of

The only thing that women could take ownership of was their beauty. She danced with intoxication,
with passion, made drunk by pleasure, forgetting all, in the triumph of her beauty, in the glory of her
success, in a sort of cloud of happiness composed of all this homage, of all this admiration, of all these
awakened desires, and if that sense of complete victory which is so sweet to a woman s heart
(Maupassant 63). In this passage, Mathilde was basting in her own beauty because it was of her own.
During this time many women were forced into marriage, resulting in a great unhappiness. Both Kate
Chopin and Guy de Maupassant state this lack of joy that was often experienced everyday by women.
It was only yesterday she had thought with a shudder that life might be long (Chopin 68). If was as if
Mrs. Mallard was sickened by the idea that her life and the way it was, would continue forever.
Maupassant portrays Mathilde s frustration in her marriage with the frequent use of the word suffered
in relationship to her higher class wants and desires. She suffered ceaselessly, feeling herself born for
all the delicacies and all the luxuries. She suffered from the poverty of her dwelling, from the
wretched look of the walls, from the worn out chairs, from the ugliness of the curtains (Maupassant
59). These two stories exemplify the epitome of women s repression in the male dominated society of
the late nineteenth century by conveying the feelings of

Increasing Population In Orange County
A census is an official count or survey of a population, typically recording various details of
individuals. The census is taken every couple years in order to get specific details about our
population. It helps to take into account the amount of people a certain town, city, or state may have as
well as their race, gender, and age percentage. The census is also used to calculate the amount of
people who live below the poverty line, as well as the wealthy. The data collected by the census not
only determines the number of seats each state has in the U.S. House of Representatives, but also is
used to distribute billions in federal funds to local communities. These funds go towards schools,

Waiting For Godot And Dr Strangelove Essay
Significant texts in any period arise from particular ways of thinking and possess an enduring
relevance. Following the dropping of the atomic bombs at the end of World War Two, global
consciousness began to slowly change due to the realisation that civilisation could be destroyed at the
press of a button. Texts that are able to grasp these changes, depicting their immediate context while
also reflecting on universal questions, possess enduring value. Waiting for Godot, the 1952 stage play
by Samuel Beckett, challenged the idea of human purpose and also questioned the relevance of
scripture and religious institutions. Similarly, Plath, in Ariel, a collection of poems posthumously
published in 1965, challenged the same ideas, especially ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The montage is accompanied by a non diegetic string arrangement of the song Try a Little Tenderness
. Kubrick specifically creates an overt sexual innuendo to make light of great fear. This foreshadows
the rest of the movie where frequent sexual themes and comedic tropes are utilised to undermine
previously unquestioned figures of authority. Beckett s opening also foreshadows the rest of the play,
as the setting begins the continual challenge of the institutional idea of human purpose, as it
accentuates the lack of meaning an idea also extended by the characters. When Estragon struggles to
take off his boot, he mutters Nothing to be done , which Vladimir mistakes for existential discourse
and replies with I m beginning to come around to that opinion. All my life I ve put it from me. Beckett
uses verbal irony to show how the most simple statement could be mistaken as a philosophical
pondering on existence, which in turn is designed to pose the question of whether individuals truly
have an essence. Similarly, Kubrick uses absurdist humour to force a questioning of what had been the
bedrock of the western world: the political sphere. President Muffley, himself named after pubic hair

the USSR. However he proceeds to waste time commenting on the good phone connection,

Use Of A Master Key Expose Other Citizens Who Are Not...
The use of phones has become such a vital part of our lives, they contain so much of our life s

doesn t the government get their information from just 3rd party applications that the user downloaded

BREAKING NEWS: Seventy Two Killed Resisting Gun Confiscation In Maryland. National Guard
units seeking to confiscate a cache of recently banned assault weapons were ambushed by elements of
a Para military extremist faction. Military and law enforcement sources estimate that 72 were killed
and more than 200 injured before government forces were compelled to withdraw. Speaking after the
clash, Massachusetts Governor Thomas Gage declared that the extremist faction, which was made up
of local citizens, has links to the radical right wing tax protest movement. Gage blamed the extremists
for recent incidents of vandalism directed against internal revenue offices. The governor, who
described the group s organizers as criminals, issued an executive order ... Show more content on

Gage issued a ban on military style assault weapons and ammunition earlier in the week. This decision
followed a meeting in early this month between government and military leaders at which the
governor authorized the forcible confiscation of illegal arms. One government official, speaking on
condition of anonymity, pointed out that none of these people would have been killed had the
extremists obeyed the law and turned over their weapons voluntarily. Government troops initially
succeeded in confiscating a large supply of outlawed weapons and ammunition. However, troops
attempting to seize arms and ammunition in Lexington met with resistance from heavily armed
extremists who had been tipped off regarding the government s plans. During a tense standoff in the
Lexington town park, National Guard Colonel Francis Smith, commander of the government
operation, ordered the armed group to surrender and return to their homes. The impasse was broken by
a single shot, which was reportedly fired by one of the right wing extremists. Eight civilians were

The European Court Of Human Rights
It is established that the UK does not have a single, written and codified constitution that encompasses
ground rules on how it should be governed. The first part of this essay outlines the movement of the
United Kingdom towards legal constitutionalism which then brings to the consideration of the need
for judicial diversity in the second part. To make this argument, this paper analyses the influence of
the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) and European Union (EU) law including domestic laws
onto the dilution of political elements in the UK; thus transitioning towards a legal constitution.
Before the 1970s, Dicey s view that no person or body is recognised by the law of England as having a
right to override or set aside the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, the incorporation of legal constitutionalism prove the increasing need for this reform in
order to prevent the state s powers from being ultra vires. The legal approach is necessary to protect
basic human rights from being taken away by higher authorities because what use is a constitution if it
fails to operate fairly without bias? The European Communities Act 1972 (ECA 1972) which is the
foundation of the UK s entry into the EU led to the erosion of its parliamentary sovereignty. The
enactment of this Act led to the implication that any conflicting domestic laws in English courts were
subjected to the supremacy of European law. This concept was affirmed in Factortame No.2.[5]
However, Lord Bridge asserted that Parliament voluntarily accepted the limitations[6] because it can
repeal the ECA 1972 at any desired time by leaving the EU. Contrary to this, section 18 of the
European Union Act 2011 merely confirms that EU laws apply within the UK according to section
2(1) of the ECA 1972. It may be argued that the EU membership did not cause any considerable
change to the UK s basic constitution. But from this point, it can be agreed that legal aspects are
beginning to surface onto the constitutional system. Most importantly,

Cold War Vs Communism Dbq Essay
Whether or not communism or capitalism was more powerful was the question at hand during the
Cold War. The Soviet Union and the United States had a major difference over a political and
economic system called Communism. The idea of communism, the belief that private property should
be replaced by community, was accepted by the Soviet Union but the United States opposed it. By the
end of the war, the US and the Soviet Union never actually came in contact and fought, however, the
US managed to contain communism and prevent the Soviets from expanding. The US contained
communism through aiding Berlin, invading Korea, and quarantining Cuba.
After World War 2 had ended, the four big nations remaining met to divide Germany. Among this
division meant the divide between communism and capitalism that drew a line which eventually was
called the Iron Curtain and split all of Europe as well as Germany. Within Germany there was also a
divide in the capital, Berlin (Doc B). The Soviets wanted the control of eastern Berlin to guarantee
that Germany would never be able to strike Russia again. This was hard to ... Show more content on

communism and prevent this issue, the United States decided they needed to get involved and help
South Korea push back. As the war dragged on for three years, more than two million deaths occurred

Washington’s Farewell Address
George Washington was elected as our first President of the United States unanimously in 1789. He
dedicated approximately forty five years of his life to public service. At the end of his second term in
1796, he published what is known as his Farewell Address, directed to the people of the United States
of America. Although never given publically as a speech, the Address was published in several
newspapers and was later made into pamphlets. Washington s Farewell Address is one of his most
famous and enjoyed speeches at the closing of his career as a soldier, founding father, and leader of
this country. His Farewell Address is still a widely respected document to this day and speaks of sound
political and moral values, many of which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Taking religion away from the system invalidates everything it was created to uphold. Washington is
clear that the key to the prosperity of the United States lies in its religious principles.
Washington continues his warnings regarding the use of public credit and the establishment of
permanent foreign alliances with other nations. He urges to use credit sparingly and underlines the
importance of having a balanced budget. Washington also urges paying off the debts of wars in times
of peace, in the form of taxes, so that future generations do not have to pay for a prior generation s
battles. Next he issues the warning, It is our true policy to steer clear of permanent alliances with any
portion of the foreign world. This was mainly in his opposition with any alliance with France or
Britain, as he did not want to be forced into a war that was not ours to fight. But Washington was
realistic when he stated that temporary alliances may be necessary during extraordinary emergencies
for the protection of the country.
In conclusion, Washington s Farewell Address is still a relevant document that should be continually
analyzed for its important message to the American people. He envisioned a government that
protected our liberty and ensured the freedoms we still enjoy today. If only our current politicians
would turn to this early document for direction more often, we may see a

Foreshadowing The Necklace
In the Necklace written by Guy de Maupassant, the plot of the story was emphasized on the physical
action, wanderings and the problems encountered by the main character. From the beginning, although
her name was not being introduced for long until the middle of the story we can observe that the story
grows out of the main character, Mathilde, who was being introduced about her back story, her
character, her unhappiness with her mediocre life. Despite the fact that she lives in comfortable home
with her loving husband, she is so unsatisfied and demanding that she wants to live in illusory world
where her actual life does not match the ideal life she has in her head. The plot also depends on chance
that intertwine with the main character s action when she lost the necklace that she lends from
Madame Forstier. The event turned out making the Loisels live a life of crippling poverty in a really
shabby apartment. Moreover, everything in the story seems relevant and connected with each other in
a proper way making the storyline organized and easy to understand. In middle of the story, we can

Nutrition And Digestion Essay
1. The stomach is an expandable muscular sac that is capable of holding 2 4 liters of food and liquids
and breaks them down with the use of pepsinogen, an inactive form pepsin, a protein digesting
enzyme. If the stomach was damaged or dysfunctional, then it would be harder to gradually release
food into the small intestine at a rate suitable for proper digestion and absorption and to digest the
food because it is not as small or digested because the stomach also assists in the mechanical and
chemical breakdown of the food as well as the killing of harmful bacteria due to the high acidic

Arguments Against Same Sex Marriage
Same sex marriage is a huge controversial issue still being debated in the world today. Many people
believe that same sex marriage is not justifiable but then many others believe that there is no problem
with this circumstance. I believe that homosexuals and lesbians should be permitted to marry if they
choose to. After researching this issue for two weeks, I came across four different people, two against
and two for the issue on same sex marriage. They all have strong opinions and arguments on this issue
and have represented their side extremely well.
Not only will I be talking about why people are opposed to same sex marriage but I will also be
talking about why people are for it and their facts and reasons to support their beliefs. ... Show more

The next fact that Dr. Cameron talks about is homosexual marriage having the highest rate of domestic
violence. He gives many reasons for supporting his facts with many different statistics, including that
the average rate of domestic violence in a traditional marriage that was established by a nationwide
federal government survey of 6, 779 married couples in 1988 is less than five percent per year. Only
two percent of husbands and 3.2 percent of wives said that they were hit, shoved or had things thrown
at them but with unmarried couples the percentages rise with a rate of about 20 % to 25% per year.
But in a same sex marriage, 48% of forty three lesbian and 39% of thirty nine gay couples reported
domestic violence and from a study that had 70 lesbian and gay students that were put into a conflict
resolution situation with gay and lesbian relationships, there was an estimated 29% of gay and 56% of
lesbian couples that experienced violence in the past year.
In conclusion, many people still believe that same sex marriage is not something that should be
allowed, yet many states are now considering it including, Massachusetts who already passed a law.
There are many facts that have been listed above and some that haven t even been shared in my paper
but the solid facts about same sex marriage being justifiable are the ones that

A Great Philosopher
A great philosopher once stated that if man were to be left alone for any period, man would create a
multiple of highly controversial practices that invite slavery more than freedom. When one opens a
new bag of shredded cheese or fresh salad, the vacuum releases it grasp of compressed air allowing
the contents to breath monetarily with easy. The fall of any Empire brings into succession dissolutions
and renewal of society, plus decay and the extinction of religious systems. The conquering barbarians
were changing court policies, manners, customs, and laws, in addition to governmental heads of state.
Therefore, allowing the opportunist the means to profit from the discoursed people that inevitably
return to false heresies. At the end of the fourth century, the Church experienced strong forces pushing
for a clear line between orthodoxy and heterodoxy, for institutional consensus and unity. However,
Constantine enjoyed having favorability of general councils of the bishops to produce consensus. At
the young age of 30 Gregory honed his skills as the chief administrative official of Rome, responsible
for finances, police, provisioning and public works that afford him in educating him in creating six
monasteries. However, Gregory was dissatisfied with his progress until his father s death in 574, when
he converted his own home into a monastery and retired to a life dedicated to studying the scripture. It
was only three years of what made Gregory the happiest he had been in

Television And Its Impact On The World War II
In 1926 John Logie Baird transmitted his first image with his new mechanical television. As the 4 x2
image of his business partner illuminated his face, Baird was completely unaware of the influence this
new medium would have on the opinions and attitudes of the people of the world. Television
represented a new opportunity to bring not only audio like radio but to place an image in every home.
Along with the work of many other inventors television was soon to become a viable medium of
entertainment and news but it did face many setbacks. At first television was a novelty, completely
overshadowed by the established medium of radio. Before World War II very few homes contained a
television and broadcasters mostly aired 15 minute segments and were limited in technology. Then on
September 1, 1939 Hitler and Germany invaded Poland and the world plunged into World War II. The
FCC issued a ban on the construction of television equipment causing the growth of television to
stagnate. At the end of the war economic prosperity and a rising middle class opened the door for a
new rise in the purchase of goods. One such good was the television. In 1947 only a few thousand
homes owned a television. By 1950 six million homes contained a television, and in 1960 around 60
million homes contained a television. During this period a new war was being waged: the Cold War.
In this battle between United States and the Soviet Union ideals propaganda was the main way to
grow support for their cause

Robert Frost Tone
Robert Frost develops a tone is his poem by expressing the way he thinks he sees vs what actually
happened . He uses imagery by talking about his childhood and how it is growing from there. In,
(Frost, 19) he describes how girls that bend their knees and put there hands on them and pull their hair
back, he is trying to say that when we are little we do fun things. Robert s tone throughout the poem is
how he is reminiscing about his childhood memories. For example , in (Frost, 3) he states, I like to
think some boy s been swinging them like if it was him. Frost talks about imagination and real life
both at the same time because, he compares birches to ice storms in (Frost, 5 6) because storms bend

life. Frost comments, climbing carefully with the same pains you use to fill a cup (Frost, 23 24) he is
very specific about a dream of his childhood. His overall tone, is wanting to go back to when he was
once a kid. For example, in (Frost, 41 42) he states I was once a swinger of birches. And so I dream of
going back to be like of he wants to go back to his past soon. Towards the end, he says Earth s the

Niche strategy targeting the most intensely involved super premium consumers who look for superior skin care products. Option Two : A Mainstream Brand A mainstream brand require a higher marketing budget in order to reach larger target. The conflict appeared characteristic of the rottenness of old Europe, which favored the neutrality position of majority of American citizens. However, a series of implacable events dragged the United States into the war. This paper will discuss the events that justified the United States entry into World War 1 while exploring the roles which public opinion should play when making such decisions in comparison to expert policy makers opinions. In addition, other available options that should have been put into consideration will be explored. Despite the neutrality standpoint of the United States, tension began to rise between ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These incidents combined with dwindling diplomatic relations between Germany and the United States increased anti German feelings in America. Another factor that majorly influenced American public opinion was stories run by British press regarding invasion of neutral Belgium by Germany. Allegations of small towns being eliminated and innocent civilians being killed angered and stunned the Americans. Although some of these stories were fabricated to serve as British propaganda, they served their purpose of prompting a strong anti German sentiment. The protection of its economic interests was also a major factor, which influenced the decision for America to participate in World War 1. American businesspersons such as J.P. Morgan who were interested in victory of the alliance funded French and British wars. These funds, roughly 3 billion US Dollars were mainly in form of loans and bond purchases. This led to the fear that incase Central Powers (Germany, Bulgaria, Austria Hungary and the Ottoman Empire) emerged victorious; the Allies (France, Britain and Italy) would be unable to repay these debts. As a measure to counter this risk, these businessmen united to support a campaign movement; Preparedness Movement , which pushed for America to intervene in the war and support the Allied forces. • 5. Ever since the “Roaring 20’s”,its been almost unachievable... Ever since the Roaring 20 s ,its been almost unachievable to pass a even a day without using technology. Us commoners nowadays use technology for everything. From communication and education,we are constantly glued to our electronics,so that we can keep up with each other, get instant information, and all in all, get things done! Therefore, it is no exaggeration to say that technology is a huge part of our lives. But what if something happened, that could make all that vital technology inaccessible? We would probably be screwed. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It can also be used as a giant fan if i whip it around quickly. In essence, even though bringing a blanket with me to an island sounds impractical,it comes in handy, and thats why I m bringing it. Last but not least, the third item i would bring is a lifetime supply of food. This is obviously necessary considering the fact that I am a human, and humans need to eat.Contrary to Lord of the Flies, I don t think i would have the guts to hunt and eat a raw, wild, pig. Just the thought of it grosses me out and like i said before, I m lazy and wouldn t go through the trial and error of hunting. And although fruit is pretty good, I can t imagine eating it all the time. Having my own food supply would allow me to be independent, because I don t have to rely on anyone, any animal, or even nature, for food. Another big reason to have some food with me, is that I could use it as negotiation to get myself rescued a lot more quicker. If a random ship comes by, I could just give them some food if they bring me back home. that would make life easier, and it s common sense. All these reasons aside, I would obviously need food, so that s the third thing I m bringing with me. It s obvious that we have become way too dependent on technology. With all this technology making our lives easier, it s hard sometimes to think outside the box. However, I know that if something similar to what happened to the boys in Lord of the Flies happened to me,i could maintain myself ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Marketing Case Study a New Joe on the Block Essay Written Assignment 1: A New Joe on the Block November 4, 2011 [Question 1] In my opinion, there are two top key decisions that Joe faces in regards to his situation. The first key decision is determining the basis for which Joe will model his coffee shop after. With supporting evidence from research, he must determine which indicators on taste/experience/price/etc. will ultimately establish his positioning in the competitive market. This is an important decision because it narrows the scope of his coffee shop s situation and will aid him in taking the necessary steps towards determining key factors for success. The second key decision that Joe encounters is whether or not he should enlist the help of a marketing research ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... consumer preferences. The second major flaw in the coffee taste studies is the existence of external variables. It is evident that the first and third studies had underlying variables that may have significantly affected their outcomes. The first study notes that the author of this study personally purchased coffee to go at four places, took them to his office, tasted them, made notes and drew conclusions (pg. 63). This indicates a major flaw of this particular study because the time frames for which each cup of coffee was obtained and then consumed are inconsistent. The third study also indicates the existence of possible external variables given the location in which it was conducted. According to the text, the researchers stood outside a small organic specialty shop and interviewed 100 customers as they exited the shop (pg. 63). Based on the choice of location, it can be argued that the results of this study mainly coincide with the preferences of consumers with a high interest in organic products. [Question 4] Given the situation, a determination can be made about its relation to each of the first three steps in the marketing research process. At this point, Joe has already undertaken some actions that are consistent with the defining research objectives step. The first thing that Joe has done is define his situational problem. Although it appears to be lacking in content and clarity, he recognizes that a great deal of research in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Calcific or Degenerative Aortic Valve Disease AORTIC STENOSIS Calcific or degenerative aortic valve disease is considered one of the most, if not the most, common valvular lesion encountered among elderly patients.( Iung B, Baron G, Butchart EG, et al.) In fact, as shown in the Helsinki Aging Study, 501 randomly selected people, men and women, in an age range from 75 to 86 underwent echocardiography. (Iivanainen AM, Lindroos M, Tilvis R, et al) The outcome of the research was that, the prevalence of critical aortic stenosis increased with age from 1 to 2 percent in those patients aged between 75 and 76, up to almost 6 percent in those 86 years of age (Lindroos M, Kupari M, Heikkilä J, Tilvis R.) The risk factors associated with the development of calcific aortic stenosis in elderly adults are similar to those for atherosclerosis. Some examples of significant risk factors for the degeneration of aortic valve disease can be the age of the patient, the gender, current cigarette smoking, hypertension, high serum concentrations of lipoprotein(a) and low density lipoprotein cholesterol. (Iung B, Baron G, Butchart EG, et al.) The two most common causes of aortic stenosis severe enough to require surgery are calcification of congenital bicuspid aortic valves and degenerative calcification of tricuspid aortic valves (Roberts WC, Ko JM. ) Aortic valve calcification, scored by computed tomography (CT), can be helpful in diagnosis of severe aortic stenosis in the patient. • 9. Role Of Women In WWII Role of Women The role of women during WWII was heavily impacted by propaganda during the 1930s 1940s, some of which had motivated women to take on generally masculine duties, some of which didn t. In the article Manning the Factories : Propaganda and Policy on the Employment of Women, 1939 1947 written by Susan L. Carruthers, talks about the decrease in women employment. Susan writes of a remobilization campaign for women called Women Must Work which was meant to get women back into the workforce but because of the lack of exposure this campaign wasn t effective. The fact that women were wanted back contrasted with the social norms at the time. The researchers of Mass Observation had written about the difficulties of influencing women with propaganda were more perspective to visual representation but failed to analyze abstract ideas making it hard to mobilize the women. In March 1941, Ernest Berwin, Minister of Labor, tries to appeal to 100,000 women to come forward for war work in the next two weeks. Berwin received quite the negative feedback where many women believed it to be ill timing and miscalculated. The WWC, Women s Consultative Committee was organized soon after in attempt to help amend for any of the mistakes made by the Ministry of Labor, it did insufficient bolster to Berwin s speech . These services include foster care programs where children who are at risk of harm from birth family, or who suffers from mental, emotional, or physical issues. With the media portraying foster care as a negative solution to a very serious issue, does not work well with getting children out of their current situations. No one really exhibits how the children feel in foster care in the media, but studies show, children in the foster care system may not view their situation as negative. These children may have a great experience in foster care, even though there are a few flawed areas in the system. Their perception of foster care may be very different from the workers of child protection services and the media s perception (Chapman, Wall, Barth, 2004; Ellingsen, Stephens, Storksen, 2012; Fernandez, 2007; Jones Kruk, 2005). The children s perception of foster care is the most important perception dince they are the ones who has to live in the system. The Foster Care System The foster care system in the United States is viewed negatively and the media portrays it as such. The public only knows what the media tells them about the foster care system. The stereotypical views are mostly what is thought the foster care system consisted of, not what goes on behind the scenes (Leber LeCroy, 2012). • 11. The Regency Society During The Regency Period During the Regency society, what made a man a true gentleman is still a confusing matter for many Austenesque and Regency readers (Grace). Many of the 19th century occupations have vanished because of changes in taste, socials customs, and technological advances (Pool 235). While some of the men during the Regency period were extremely wealthy, there were others that faced financial hardships (Grace). Most of time, the road of apprenticeship often led to a successful life and good fortune (Pool 240). The most gentlemanly professions during the Regency period were the clergymen, lawyers, and army officers. Many of the men during the Regency period that desired to keep their status as a gentleman often went into a church profession (Grace). Many gentlemen that were OxBridge graduates and younger brothers entered the clergy (Ray 189). For many families that had a steady, guaranteed income, the church was a popular option for them (Grace). There were two different types of clergyman, vicar and curate. While being a clergyman required no strenuous physical labor, it did require a Honors degree either from Oxford or Cambridge (Grace; Ray 189). For the most part, the gentry class were the only ones that could actually afford a degree from Oxford or Cambridge to become a clergyman (Ray 189). Another job opportunity in the church included the priest. The priests during this time were respected by society mostly because of their association with the church (Ray 189). In the novel, ... If you were far away from someone you would either have to write or walk, and both of those would take a long time to get a message somewhere. The introduction of the telephone changed the way our world worked. If you have used a phone anytime in your life, and almost everyone has, you need to thank the creator, Alexander Graham Bell. Alexander Graham Bell has changed the way our world works, thanks to his many famous and important inventions. On March 3, 1847 in Edinburgh, Scotland, Alexander Bell, the teacher of the deaf and Scottish born American inventor was born. Alexander s middle name Graham was not added until he was about ten years old. He added his middle name because he also wanted one like his brothers. His father gave him his middle name as his birthday present. He was the middle child and both of his brothers passed away from tuberculosis later in his life. Tuberculosis is a fatal disease that attacks the lungs. His grandfather was an elocution professor and his father was an expert on elocution and the mechanics of the voice. Gloria Anzaldua s To Live in the Borderlands (1987) and Justin Simien s Dear White People (2014) had a couple things in common when related to identity. In the poem, she talks about being between the borderlands and trying to find who you are based on where you are from and where you are now. I see a similar concept of not being able to decide who you really are in several characters in Dear White People. You are the battle ground where enemies are kin to each other and you are at home, a stranger is where that situation really stands out. She is saying that she is the middle man of two different sides. In this case, I see it being between her homeland and where she is now. When she writes you are at home, a stranger meaning when she goes back to where she grew up, she is not the same person she once was and her family and friends do not recognize her. If I picture this poem as visual aspect, I see the reader in the middle and the hometown on one side and the current residence on the other playing tug of war and the reader cannot decide who should win. When I watch Dear White People I see the same features come through as with the overall aspect of To Live in the Borderlands. Rather than one person with identity issues in the poem, in the movie there are several people with this problem. The first person that really stands out to me when I think identity conflictions is, Samantha White. We see her being strong and forceful for the black community on Winchester campus and then see her sleeping with Gabe, a white man. Right off the bat, we see some in between from choosing to be with a white man and sticking up for the black community. It only gets more conflicting as the movie goes on. For centuries man has created this patriarchal society in which women have been treated as the lesser entity, having no sense of self being or worth. These feelings led women to feel repressed in their everyday life. It was in the late nineteenth century when literary writers started to expose this female repression. Guy de Maupassant and Kate Chopin clearly express definitive examples of female repression in their stories, The Necklace and The Story of an Hour. During this time period, women s role in society was that of a submissive, powerless position. They often relied solely on their husband for direction, allowing the husband to make decisions and take lead no matter what. In the story of The Necklace, Maupassant illustrates these ... In this passage, Mathilde was basting in her own beauty because it was of her own. During this time many women were forced into marriage, resulting in a great unhappiness. Both Kate Chopin and Guy de Maupassant state this lack of joy that was often experienced everyday by women. It was only yesterday she had thought with a shudder that life might be long (Chopin 68). Following the dropping of the atomic bombs at the end of World War Two, global consciousness began to slowly change due to the realisation that civilisation could be destroyed at the press of a button. Texts that are able to grasp these changes, depicting their immediate context while also reflecting on universal questions, possess enduring value. Waiting for Godot, the 1952 stage play by Samuel Beckett, challenged the idea of human purpose and also questioned the relevance of scripture and religious institutions. Beckett s opening also foreshadows the rest of the play, as the setting begins the continual challenge of the institutional idea of human purpose, as it accentuates the lack of meaning an idea also extended by the characters. The European Communities Act 1972 (ECA 1972) which is the foundation of the UK s entry into the EU led to the erosion of its parliamentary sovereignty. The enactment of this Act led to the implication that any conflicting domestic laws in English courts were subjected to the supremacy of European law.
