INTRODUCTION In this experiment, we are trying to figure out how different concentrations of
substrate affect an enzyme reactivity. We are using hydrogen peroxide as the substrate and yeast
as the enzyme. Based on my background knowledge, I hypothesize that if more hydrogen peroxide
is added, then the seconds between a paper disk floating to the top would be lower than a lesser
amount of hydrogen peroxidesolution. I thought that the more peroxide solution there was, than the
more the enzymecould react. An enzyme is a type of catalyst that speeds up a reaction. In this lab
we are using the enzyme called catalase. Catalase is used to break down H2O2. (hydrogen
peroxide).
METHODS
The materials you will need are forceps, a pencil, yeast solution, hydrogen peroxide, filter paper
disks, six 250 ml beakers, distilled water, paper towels, and graph paper. These concentrations
below will be put into each beaker. Be sure to label each beaker.
Then you will put a solution of activated yeast in a beaker. Use the forceps to dip the paper disk
into the beaker, which contains the catalase enzyme. Next, use the forceps to transfer the paper
disk into the bottom of the beakers with hydrogen peroxide. You will then measure how long it
takes for the bubbles to carry the disk to the top of the beaker. Measure the amount of seconds it
takes for the paper disk to float to the top in the data table. Repeat the steps until you have at least
3 trials for each hydrogen peroxide solution.

I am in a unique position as a First year Composition student in his mid thirties: I have a vast
amount I would like to say about myself and the world, yet I lack the technical and rhetorical

expert in rhetoric. Ten years later, despite a decade of professional, full time employment as a
technical writer, I am still severely lacking in any real rhetorical or literary expertise. At the start of
this semester, I could not differentiate between simple and complex sentences, nor explain a
transitive vs. intransitive verb, nor did I understand any but the most simplistic rhetorical devices.

Both characters are put down by their own struggles but naturally learn very different lessons.
Dimmesdale slowly but surely begins to understand how severe the damages of his guilt, hiding,
and hypocrisy are to his soul. He goes through intense episodes of self harm and abuse as he lives
with Chillingworth, the evil physician who acts as a catalyst to strengthening the grief and guilt
that shadows poor Dimmesdale. After seven long years of hiding his sin and relationship with
Hester from the public, Dimmesdale realizes how absurd his decision to conceal his struggle is.
While conversing with Hester in the shadowy forest, free from Puritan judgement, Dimmesdale

is for an author. The use of metaphor and symbol in poetry means that the poet can say one thing

Throughout the poem, Dunn recollects and remembers the memories, however, the use of the
word wait could symbolise the wait involved in grieving, finally accepting that your loved one is
gone and beginning to piece your life back together. The repetition of wait in line 13, in
reference to an absurd forgiveness shows us that Dunn blames himself for his Wife s death, and

Odysseus with their alluring song, but there exist numerous other, occasionally conflicting,
myths concerning them. This ambiguity contributed to various interpretation of physical
appearance and symbolic significance of sirens ever since it was composed by Homer 2800
years ago. It is also another reason it served to be a rich material for Kafka s own brand of
ambiguous and complex fiction. In Homer s work Odysseus took actions that are quite different

In the present day of technology virtual reality is becoming a new trend. The ability to explore
places without going there for real. Ray Bradbury famous author of predictive science fiction
wrote a short story on the use of technology in such a way. The Veldt by Ray Bradbury tells the
story of a family of four, two kids and their parents. The story focuses on a piece of technology
known as the nursey which create virtual scenery for the kids, but the parents begin to suspect
something wrong is going on with it. Ray Bradbury does a fantastic job of conveying the sense of
detachment of the family due to the presence of the nursey and the house s technology. The Veldt
does good job of satirizing technology and its consequence on family interaction or human

The episode Harley and Ivy from Batman the Animated Series is full of interesting ideas and
exciting calls to action for its audience. Poison Ivy and her adventures with Harley Quinn not only
explore what it means to be a virtuous character but also question what it means to be and
independent and strong woman. Ivy specifically acts as the main example of female empowerment
and throughout the entire. While the author of the episode, Paul Dini, and the director of the
episode, Boyd Kirkland, do not tackle the feminist goals of this episode in totally flawless ways,
they still do a good job of using Poison Ivy s character to asks the audience, specifically the female
audience, to encourage female friendship, fight sexism, and questions genderroles and what it
