The Growing Threat Of Cyber Warfare From Russia
Benjamin Carver
Mrs. Wuerfel
English 12 Honors
6 February 2016
The Growing Threat of Cyber Warfare from Russia The next generation of terrorists will grow up in a
digital world, with ever more powerful and easy to use hacking tools at their disposal. Dorothy E.
Denning. This is becoming more and more apparent as time goes on. You hear something new every
day about some company being hacked by the Chinese, Russians, Iranians, or North Koreans. The
world we live in is becoming more and more digitized and, perhaps unsurprisingly, the threat of cyber
terrorism is only growing with the evolving technology. Tensions have been rising rapidly largely due
to the multiple cyber attacks being waged every day against various political ... Show more content on

(Paletta, Yadron, and Valentino DeVries A.1). Though the United States government seems to think
that creating the most powerful hacking software is the best course of action, this will only lead to
more cyber terrorism at the expense of everyday citizens. Looking to the past, it is obvious that
engaging in an arms race can often lead to escalated conflicts. Some security experts warn that
governments do not yet understand the power of the hacking tools being created, and that the situation
is growing dangerously similar to the arms race induced powder keg Europe was before World War I
erupted (Matthews). Although they were physical, arms races in the past led to such horrific conflicts
such as the first World War and terrifying time periods such as the Cold War. Governments should be
approaching this situation with much more caution. In order to ensure both the safety of the citizens of
the world, as well as the well being of the world s nations, the digital arms race should be de escalated.
Measures need to be taken to reduce the frequency of cyber attacks, as opposed to simply fighting
back with more powerful hacking tools.
Cybercrime and cyberterrorism are becoming increasingly more dangerous issues as time goes on.
China appears to wage hacking attacks on other countries, especially the United States, more often
than any other countries. Due to the frequency, many

The Great Dream Of Betty White
Fame, to most, seems like a grand dream. Only a select few have experienced the spoils of fame, from
the bothersome paparazzi to the masses of doting fanatics, and none have experienced fame in the
same way as Betty White. For her, this dream became a fantastic reality. She is universally renowned
for the charm, wit, and comedic talent that she brought to each and every scene. Betty White, dubbed
The Queen of Television, is an award winning actress who is adored for her memorable starring roles
and countless appearances, effectively securing a place for herself in the hearts of millions.
On January 17, 1922, Betty Marion White was born an only child to homemaker Christine Tess and
lighting company executive Horace Logan in Oak Park, Illinois. The family struggled considerably
during the Great Depression, compelling White s father to build and sell radios to earn extra income.
As a teenager, Betty White had aspirations to become a forest ranger ( Betty White ). Unfortunately,
women were not accepted to be forest rangers during that time. White took advantage of her writing
talent and consequently decided to pursue a writing career. In high school, Betty White even created
her senior class play ( Betty White ). At first she appeared in theater and radio, but in 1949 White
became a part of the Al Jarvis Variety Show. Betty was initially hired to handle
Rushing 2 commercials on the program, but she worked her way up to becoming a co host. In 1952,

Cynthia Whittaker s The Reforming Tsar
In The Reforming Tsar: The Redefinition of Autocratic Duty in Eighteenth  Century Russia, Cynthia
Whittaker argues that depending on the historical, cultural and contextual period, there can be
demarcated two types, both distinctive and contrasting, of Russian sovereigns, namely the good tsar
and the reforming tsar . The scholar juxtaposes the two models of monarchs against the backdrop of
medieval versus modern type of governance. According to it the good tsar typology, which is typical
for the earlier Muscovy realm, defines the ruler as pious and inert, characterized by its liturgical form
and static nature of the rule. The good tsar is bound to uphold Orthodoxy, preserve and control public
order, help the poor and the underdogs ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Nevertheless, despite the fact that I do not oppose to this assumption, I suggest that my analysis on the
changing nature of the Russian monarchs starts with a discussion of the rule of Ivan III, whose image
embodies some degree of ambivalence, before analyzing the two most illustrious examples of
reforming monarchs in the Russian history, namely Peter the Great and Ekaterina the Great and
elaborate on the reasons what impeded their successors from continuing the policy orientation of their
predecessors, and became even more inert. Therefore, the subsequent section of the paper will first
explore a couple of examples among the predecessors of Peter the Great, who in my view, albeit not
being explicitly labeled as reforming tsars , undoubtedly have demonstrated some of the vital for a
progressive ruler characteristics, then it will examine the two most notable examples of visionary
sovereigns in the Russian history, before concluding and briefly elaborating on the present state of

Holden Uses Defense Mechanisms
Consequently, Holden uses defense mechanisms, as a means of preventing anxiety that would result
from conscious awareness of disturbing impulses, wishes, or ideas arising from the id, (Nevid 471).
Nevid explains that according to Freudian theory, defense mechanisms reside in the unconscious part
of the human brain because if people were conscious of every single problem, people wouldn t be able
to function. Therefore, Holden is subconsciously utilizing defense mechanisms in order to shield
himself from confronting his problems. One major defense mechanism present in Holden s behavior is
denial. Holden s resides in an ivory tower, reluctant to accept that he s actually hurt. For example,
Holden encounters an elevator man named Maurice ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although defense mechanisms can help put off a certain problem for some time, relying on defense
mechanisms is not always beneficial because it gives people reasons to act irrationally. This
clarification of Freud s theory is strongly portrayed in Holden s exaggerated view of reality. His denial
triggers delusional fantasies in Holden s mind that he doesn t seem to think deeply about. For
example, when one rash thought entered into Holden s mind, he delivers an ultimatum to Sally,
saying, ...Tomorrow morning we could drive up to Massachusetts and Vermont...We ll stay in cabin
camps until the dough runs out. Then, when the dough runs out, I could get a job somewhere, and we
could live somewhere with a brook and all and, later on, we could get married or something, (Salinger
132). At the age of sixteen, as if it s not unrealistic enough, he tries to persuade Sally. When Sally
gives him a reality check, he practically rages at her. Holden is so blinded by the fantasy world he
created for himself and his defense mechanisms were giving Holden an excuse to acting abnormally.
As a result, he blames Sally for the unreasonable idea he proposed, calling her a royal pain in the ass,
(133). This irrational behavior of Holden is exactly what Freud is illustrating in his theory of
personality that depending on defense mechanisms for relieving stressful

India And Jap Rule Of Law
III. Rule of Law in India and Japan
The Rule of Law has not been compromised by the culture or socioeconomic conditions in India or
Japan. India and Japan sought to achieve Rule of Law to embody the values, institutions and
principles in a modern liberal democratic country in order to modernize and adapt. Rule of law has
two main functions, to protect its citizens and stop unequitable use of state power by remaining
transparent, and, to protect its citizens with enforcement structures. In India, Western ideals and
institutions were welcomed and successfully integrated with local culture. In Japan, transplant of rule
of law ideals only occurred post war and the transplant of western legal systems were in the course of
colonization and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
NEED EXAMPLES OF THIS
The Constitution of Japan does not have any express provisions for the Rule of Law. However, it has
insinuated in a number of Articles within the Constitution. For example, in Articles 1 to 8 the Emperor
remains as a symbol of the state and carries out functions of the state but in contrast to the Meiji
Constitution, his role is mainly ceremonial and the Emperor does not have any powers relating to the
government. This indicates that justice is intended to be administered by impartial and independent
justice institutions and kept separate from the Emperor and government bodies who are held
accountable under the law in Article 41 to 95 of the Constitution of Japan. Specifically, in Article 98,
Supreme Law implies Rule of Law upholds the accountability of government bodies and agents where
all government actions are ruled under one Constitution. Another example is the incorporation of
fundamental human rights in Article 97, which asserts the liberal doctrine of human rights and protects
individual rights and liberties.
IV. Differences between India and Japan
India and Japan are both culturally different and different socioeconomically, but both countries have
achieved Rule of Law. Some of the differences stated in Chens article about the Pathways of Western
Liberal Constitutional Developments in Asia are that the founding fathers of the Indian Constitution

Essay On Acting 101
At first, when I registered for the acting class, I expected something entirely different than what the
class turned out to be. My initial thoughts were that there would exist costumes to wear and various
lines to memorize, which didn t developed to be the case. While, I m blue the class didn t turn out the
manner I expected I m also pleased. This different class approach to what I envisioned, was the
needed foundation I didn t want but needed. As an actor I have grown and have obtained many
techniques to perform in the future. Previously to registering, I was extremely reserved and distrustful.

Bartleby The Scrivener Marxist Analysis
Bartleby the Scrivener, a title for a story, and for a man. Bartleby worked in a monotonous job, doing
the same boring thing everyday, and yet he seemed to be fully devoted to his work. His boss was not a
hard man, but it is safe to say that he benefitted from Bartleby, at least, at first. Because of the
devotion that Bartleby gave to his job and his boss, the business worked. This was not just the job of a
scrivener, but instead a representation of everyone working under the heal of the rich. Bartleby was a
simple man in the beginning, he was the average worker. He was boring, hard working, followed the
flow of society. Bartleby would soon change everything anyone knew about society before then. With
the uttering of five simple words, I ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He simply refuses to do additional work, then his work at all. It escalates to where he will not talk, or
even leave the premises. He manages to follow his boss and haunt him throughout the story. No matter
how hard the boss tries, he can not get rid of Bartleby. When the revolution begins, there is no
stopping it. The rich will not be able to bribe there way out of this problem. It will snowball and grow
to be a bigger and bigger problem for those at the top of the economic latter. The boss will never be
able to forget poor and suffering Bartleby. Never again will the boss be able to bush off the images of
the poor and suffering, and instead he will be haunted by them. Bartleby may not even be there,
maybe he really did leave when first asked. It does not really matter, all that is important is that the
boss can not forget Bartleby whether he is there or not. Bartleby seems to be the one being tortured in
the story, nobody said the revolution would be easy for the poor. However, the key is that while
Bartleby may be depressed, he had a great effect on his boss, torturing his mind. This is what the
revolution will look like, the rich and powerful will become crippled by the thought and actions of the
poor. They will quickly realize that they will never be able to get back to the way they were. Things
will change at the hand of the rich from the poor, and it will only take one small spark,

The Innocence Of Lust In Rolando Perez s Office At Night
In the animal kingdom, reproduction of one s species holds priority for the survival of that genus.
Many animals will forgo its necessities for life such as food and water to ensure reproduction.
Mammals such as primates and canines have a hierarchy of how they choose their mate. These

that the man and women stayed late at work. Then he gives us a lust filled rant about the women attire

true yearning for her possible showing his sense of dignity that he uses to subdue his primal urges.

Plato s Dialogue, Republic, And The Claims Of The Modern...
Philosophers are commonly viewed as useless and foolish in the modern world. Some people see
philosophers of the past as people who attempted to understand important aspects of human nature,
different ideologies, and social problems only to fail or not provide universal answers or solutions.
However, there are others who see the importance of philosophers and how they have become to
understand aspects of life and human nature before anyone else; Plato is a person who sides with the
argument that philosophers play an important role in society. In Plato s dialogue, Republic, he
attempts to discover justice and to convey the importance philosophers possess in ensuring a just
society. The main argument that will be addressed in this essay is that philosophers are useful and are
essential to guarantee a truly just city. In this paper I will use Plato s dialogue, Republic, and the
claims mentioned throughout to support and build my agreement with Plato in arguing that having
philosophers in rule ensures a just and honest society. The main question presented in, Republic is
what is justice; both in the individual and in the city. These concepts of justice need to be addressed
before determining that by having philosophers in rule, the city will be truly just. By providing Plato s
definition of justice in the individual and the city it will be easier to understand why philosophers are
the only people who understand justice and how to implement it into a society. Plato uses the

Principles Of Compliance In Selling Their Products
Achieving well in a business doesn t just happen, one should be able to meet all the principles that
come with running a business. I will talk about how commercial compliance professional do well at
selling their products. The commercial business I will talk about is Sears, and the social influences and
behavioral compliance that they use, when trying to sale a product to a customer. Trying to get a
customer to be able to purchase a product isn t always easy especially when it comes to bigger
products that cost a little more. Here are six principles that are used that compliance professionals use
to base their psychological influence attempts: reciprocity, consistency, social validation,
friendship/liking, authority, and scarcity ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
You have to be honest with your customers in order to continue getting service from them. In the
Sears example, the salesman gives his validation to John about which tractor would be the best fit for
his needs. Fourth, is liking ; means exactly what it says, you want to give off a good vibe when trying
to sale a product so they will like you. To be able to increase the liking from customers commercial
corporations should follow a few liking tactics. The first tactic to follow to get customers to like you,
physical attractiveness; having a good appearance, and be being able to pursue customers into buying
a product. In the Cialdini article is says that there s a positive reaction to good physical appearance
with good talent, kindness, honesty, and intelligence. Another tactic would be similarity, having
similarity between you the salesman and the customer. Third tactic is complimenting the customers.
Lastly cooperation; working together to achieve a certain goal is also another factor to help get
customers to like you and hopefully buy from you. The fifth principle is authority; having authority in
this case is knowing what your job is and knowing how to do it. Customers want to see that you know
what you are talking about when giving them advice on certain products, it makes it a little easier for
them to choose. The Sears salesman did well when giving his knowledge about the tractor, he knew
exactly how to convenes the guy to

Consumer Behavior
[23] utilize previous research of traditional WOM that had any similarities with E WOM they develop
the new construct into five utilities: 1. Focus related utility: the benefit a consumer receives from their
contribution to a community, by adding value to the community through his or her contributions [23].
In a Web based opinion platform context, such contributions would include providing reviews and
commentary on products and services of interest to other community members [23]. This utility is
based on the assumption that adding value to the community is an important goal to the individual
[23]. There are four motives that fall under this utility which are: concern for other consumers, helping

Since negative consumer comments can influence the way a company and its image are perceived,
public articulations may be used by consumer as an instrument of power [23]. 2. Consumption Utility:
Consumption utility refers to consumers obtaining value through direct consumption of the
contributions of other community constituents [23]. In a Web based opinion platform context or
website context, consumption takes place when individuals read the product reviews and comments
written by others, which also can motivate consumers to write comments [23]. Consumers may
articulate a comment online describing their experiences with a product and request other consumers
to submit problem solving information [23]. Writing and/or soliciting information on online consumer
opinion platforms may allow the contributor to gain more specific and useful feedback than simply
anonymously reading comments (i.e., lurking ) [23]. 3. Approval Utility: Approval utility is concerned
with a consumer s satisfaction that comes when other constituents consume and approve of the
constituent s own contributions [23]. The feedback can be either formal or informal [23]. Informal
approval may come when another user either publicly praises one s contributions to the group or
privately communicates to the individual regarding the usefulness of the information provided [23].

Poland s Role In Ww2
Poland played a large part in World War II, especially in the start. It was a hard time for the Poles, my
late grandfather, George Burak experienced this first hand during his adolescent life. Many of these
years were filled with resistance against unwanted powers.
The first sense of war was seen during disagreements over Danzig and the polish corridor. The
corridor (was) a strip of territory that cut through germany allowing both germany and poland to
access the port of danzig. Due to the large german population in Danzig, Adolf Hitler claimed it for
the Nazis . When Hitler secured Austria and czechoslovakia he focused in on Poland. On september 1,

Intellectual Disability Definition
How has the label of Mental Retardation been used to discriminate against people and do you think
the term, Intellectual Disability would have a different connotation?
Society has a different intake in everything, as individual we are expected to do certain things, live
certain way, and be certain way. Occasionally, when we fail to live to these expectations we are often
excluded from certain groups and may not regarded as typical human beings. The term Mental
Retardation might be the perfect fit when it comes to describing the slow development of the brain;
however, this term has a bad connotation. In the early years the word retardation was used as a
replacement for word such as idiot, imbecile, morons and cretin (Hingston, 2011). Many

Dartmouth College Vs. Woodward
Dartmouth College v. Woodward (1819) Living in the 1800 s was not an easy task. This was the time
of child labor and little to no education for kids. The time of having to walk 2 3 miles anywhere and
making sure the crops were well enough to sell in the markets. The time of Westward Expansion and
the genocide of Native Americans. Eleazar Wheelock, a Puritan minister from Columbia, CT was the
one who founded Dartmouth. He initially established the school to train Native Americans as Christian
missionaries. His inspiration for the school first came about due to his relationship with a Mohegan
Indian Samson Occom. The name of the school was to be Moor s Indian Charity School and was
officially established in 1755. It was somewhat successful, but they still needed more funding in order
to maintain the schools operations. Wheelock and Occom decided to go to England in 1766 to raise
money for the school. Once they raised enough, they made a trust to help the school. The Charity
School finally had enough financial support to keep going. But Wheelock had trouble recruiting
Native Americans to attend the institution due to the location being far away from the tribal territories.
He decided to relocate the school to Hanover, in the Province of New Hampshire. Following the
relocation, it was difficult to find resources and secure a charter. Luckily, the Royal Governor of New
Hampshire, John Wentworth, provided the land that Dartmouth would be built on and issued a charter

Critically Assess the Strategy of Argos
Business strategy is a decision a company takes in order to create and maintain value by coordinating
business resources and finding ways to develop and capitalise on the organisation s competitive
advantages over a period of time (Grant, 2014). However, these strategies can be affected either
positively or negatively with a major decision such as mergers and acquisition or political, social and
technological factors. Hence, this essay will critically assess factors affecting the strategy of Argos.
Argos s strategy continues to be building a contemporary market leading retail capabilities and a

base, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another way to assess the market for a business is through PEST analysis. Where PEST stands for
political, economic, social and technological factors which can influence a business strategy (Grant,
2014). Political uncertainty fuelled by Brexit (the decision of the UK to leave the EU) will affect the
immigration status of some employees, with Argo s risk losing some of its employees. A possible
adjustment of trade regulations, federal minimum wage or requirement for permits and licenses will
impact Argos operations. For example, if companies must pay considerably to sponsor work permit
for their non UK employees or must carry out periodic sustainability assessments (Business.hsbc.uk,
2017). The company will spend a lot of time and money to comply with regulations, ultimately
proving ineffective and will affect business aims and objective. However, such regulations could
prove useful in shifting manufacturing to the UK and hence a supply chain that is robust and
sustainable, leading to a more flexible cost base. In an economic sense, the sharp drop in the value of
the GB pound against the US dollars resulting from the knock on effect of Brexit will lead increase in
supply chain costs since UK retail is to a large extent dependent on imports, most of which are
purchased in US dollars, ultimately leading to an inflexible operational cost

Piggy Bank Movie Vs Book
Oz the piggy bank was significantly different in the movie compared to the book. In the book, Oz was
originally used to store money for Lori, and then after Lori left it was used to store money for
Jeannette. Therefore, the fund was specifically Lori s New York fund at first. When the money goes
missing Lori freaks out at Rex and throws extremely hurtful names at him. She addresses Rex s lack
of parenting and high dependence on alcohol in an attempt to make him feel guilty for his actions. She
can no longer hold her tongue and finally expresses all of her thoughts. In the movie, Lori showed
Jeannette the piggy bank on the day she was leaving for New York. Since Lori had already found her

the problems the industry is facing. With such stability, the corporation is able to make decisions and
adjust policies, which other heavily burdened airlines may not be able to imitate.
Having a low amount of cost in their operations is one of the contributing factors in Southwest
Airlines financial success. Such low cost model of the corporation is brought about by an effective
strategy. Southwest uses only one type of aircraft the fuel efficient Boeing 737. ... Show more content

The company can spread their wings to new territories and purchase more planes to extend their
capacity and cater more customers. This would be very beneficial for Southwest because the company
will be able to extend its services to a larger market that is in need of their traveling services.
It is quite known that the airline industry has very high barriers to entry. This means it is somehow
difficult for new companies to enter such industry. Aside from the fact that there are already so many
established airlines that have good names and reputations, the vulnerability of the industry to
economic cycles somehow add difficulty for new entrants. Such vulnerability means that if the
economy is doing well, more people will have the money to pay plane tickets and travel. But if the
economy is not doing well, then people will have less money to fly and will use more cost effective
means of transportation. This difficulty for new entrants to penetrate the industry is an opportunity for
Southwest to minimize the likelihood of additional competition, thereby sustaining its current share in
the market. They may now focus more on their current competitors for market share rather than
worrying much about others entering the industry.
Having been very successful in their operations, Southwest Airlines is surely a target of competitors
focus. And by that, other airlines may begin copying Southwest s

Chinese New Year Essay
Chinese New Year
Chinese New Year in Malaysia lasts for 15 days, and is normally during January to February that
varies from year to year. Normally, just like any other festivals, preparations are normally the starters
of Chinese New Year.
First, the families will clean their home thoroughly. This is not only to welcome the guests to come
during Chinese New Year, but also the Chinese s belief that this can sweep away the misfortune from
one s family, prepared for good luck to enter the house again. However, it is a bad thing to sweep the
floor during Chinese New Year itself, because it is believed that this way, the family will sweep away
all its good luck during the festival. Moreover, red decorations will be put up as well as red ... Show

Many parents will write riddles on lanterns for their children to guess, eating traditional dumplings
tang yuan , and putting up candles to guide the good spirits home. This is also known as the Valentine
s Day in Malaysia. Females will write their name and contact number attached to an orange and throw
them into a lake, while males pick them up and eat them, also hopefully contacting the attachment s
containing name and address. And here comes the end of Chinese New Year.
Chinese New Year is a meaningful way for the Chinese to start their calendar for a year. The most
unique part of this festival is that it not only focused on bringing one s own family good luck, but also
the traditions that are passed down from one generation to the next that is followed every year that
strengthens families bonds, such as the main feast/unity feast 团圆饭 and visiting relatives 拜年 .

How The Australian Media Covers And Reports Crime
This report aims to analyse how the Australian media covers and reports crime. To accomplish this,
the report will explore how The Australian covered the Cairns child murders, in the article entitled
Cairns deaths: A good mum who concealed her demons published on December 27th 2014. The report
will provide insight into the explanation for the crimes occurrence, while investigating the prevalence
of the crime type murder, in Australia. It will also make reference to two of Chibnall s news values :
dramatization and personalization.
On the 19th of December 2014, eight children aged 18 months to 16 years were found dead inside a
home in Manoora, Cairns. Investigation revealed that 37 year old Raina Mersane Ina Thaiday had
murdered ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The final reason the article gives, is that Thaiday drank alcohol and used marijuana (Walker and Elks
2014) and had actually been up late drinking the night before the murders. Again, this theory
presented by The Australian can be supported by statistics, as there is strong evidence of an
association between the consumption of alcohol and violence (AIC 2010). The Australian is therefore
linking the cause of the crime to three interrelated factors: recurring cycle of abuse due to mental
health issues, poverty and substance abuse.
The type of crime reported on is murder. According to the most recent statistics published on murder
in Australia, there are 1.1 victims per 100,000 persons (ABS 2013). This makes it a fairly un common
crime, when compared with other western nations, such us the United States, in which murder rates
are 4.7 victims per 100,000 persons (U.S Department Of Justice 2011). The Australian media
however, reports on murder in such a way, which makes it seem more prevalent than it actually is.
This is done through dramatized coverage, and drip feed reporting. Thaiday s crime is prevalent
however, in the sense that she committed her murders with a steak knife. And of weapons used in
murder, a knife is the most common at 43

Dr. Nitschke s Arguments Against Euthanasia
Euthanasia is a controversial debate in society today. Dr. Nitschke wrote an essay titled Euthanasia:
Hope You Need it, but be Glad the Option is There . Dr. Nitschke s purpose of writing this article was
to conduct an essay covering the euthanasia topic. Nitschke is a director of the pro euthanasia
organization, while having a career in medicine for twenty five years. Nitschke fully supports the use
of euthanasia.
The main argument of this essay is the author, Dr. Nitschke, wanting to allow terminally ill patients to
have the choice of euthanasia within their life. The issues on the table are too important for hysterical
indignation and fundamental religion dogma. We are all grown ups. is the thesis statement Dr.

complex, which is a positive in order to be able to present information to all types of individuals that

is a strength. While the essay has multiple strengths, there are weaknesses within it. The author s use
of organization was a weakness. The story goes from one topic transitions to the next without a clear

Climate Change Is Not A Truth
I think man made climate change is not a truth.
Climate change has been a big global issue, and there are many reasons that scientists have proposed.
The factor on climate change includes solar radiation, the Earth s orbit changes, orogeny, greenhouse
gas emissions. The impact of climate change relative to changes in climate factors, it may take long
time to emerge.
Scientists use many methods to reconstruct past climate. One important indicator is the temperature
change over time. And we can find that Earth s temperature variation changes periodically.
Milankovitch proposed that climate change is due to the changes in the relative positions of the Earth
and the sun. It includes orbital eccentricity, obliquity, precession. Their relative periods

Biological Theory Of Deviance Essay
To explain the difference between biological, psychological and structural approaches to theorizing
deviance, one must breakdown each approach separately. To begin, I would like to start with the
biological theory which suggests that deviance may be linked to a certain physical body characteristic
or particular arranging of chromosomes leading to an inclination of deviance. Behavior in this theory
is also constricted to that particular body part in deviance, but biological theories unsuccessfully
explain why people with similar biological characteristics differ. Some people turn to the direction of
deviant behaviors while others adapt to social rules. Crime and deviant behaviors are both seen as a
type of infirmity in the biological theory ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These three bodies were ectomorphs, endomorphs, and mesomorphs, so study says. Continuing on,
biological theorist builds trust in the extra Y chromosome theory. It is believed that criminals have a
formation of XYY chromosomes and not an XY chromosome structure. This creates a solid force
making a person commit crimes. This is what we call the super male. When looking at the
psychological theory of deviance, one can see that it mirrors biological methods in so many ways, but
with an extension of brain functions. It is the belief of the psychological approach that criminals and
deviants agonize over personality deficiencies. These approaches use one s inner self to explain their
incentive and instinct to interrupt society s norms. Theories have touched bases on clarification of how
one s mind and personalities affect their deviance in the late eighteenth century. Both biological and
psychological approaches seem to focus on the individual themselves and their personalities. Much of
the social conditions and life situation are not under consideration. They tend to blame the individual
for their deviant behavior and while encouraging stereotyping, affect public policy. The consideration
of deviance is overlooked as a social

La Mission Movie Analysis
Symbolic Representations One of the symbolic representations in La Mission is where it takes place,
in the mission district of San Francisco. It represents the traditional stance of Che the main character
and compares it to the shift to a more hipster neighborhood with new people like Lena moving in who
haven t been in the neighborhood until recently. He also restores old cars into low riders which is
historically Mexican American style of car. The music featured in this movie is a mix of traditional
chorales, native drums and guitars mixed with newer more modern version that also show the
transition that this community and culture are facing coming to terms with change and homosexuality
that is culturally unacceptable. On the other hand, the movie Walkout shows a symbolic representation
in the movie in the form of the main character s father who has a traditional blue collar job and
represents the barrier that many Chicano s faced at that time. Another is the school teacher Sal who
really has risen above and escaped the life most Chicano s are facing. This comparison is mirrored in
the way some students like Paula are encouraged to attend college while others are told to go into a
low paying trade.
Arguments
From my perspective it s the judgement of homosexuality that is portrayed in the movie. Riddled
throughout the movie is drugs, other deities and violence. Even the main character Che is an alcoholic
bully who s been to prison. How they wrap their heads around these

Nlp in English Language Teaching
ABSTRACT ii
The purpose of this presentation is to determine the use of NLP in language teaching. In this study, in
the first part, some background information was given about what Neuro Linguistic programming
(NLP) is, and whether NLP was used in language teaching before. To put forward whether NLP is
effective in language teaching, general questions related to NLP are to be asked to language teachers
in questionnaires and interviews. The collected data were analyzed in tables and graphics by using
numerical system. According to the findings, the hypothesis and the results were once more examined
in the conclusion part.

NLP, with its roots in psychology and neurology, is about the way the brain works and how the brain
can be trained for the purpose of betterment. It encompasses or is related to left / right brain functions,
visual / auditory / kinesthetic learning styles, multiple intelligence and other areas of research which
are attempting to identify modes of learning whilst recognizing the importance of the individual
learner.
Here are the key features of NLP:
• NLP is about recognizing patterns.
• NLP is concerned with process rather than content.
• NLP provides a model of how we communicate with ourselves and others. (Darn, 2005:1)
The name Neurolinguistic Programming might lead one to expect that it is based on the science of
Neurolinguistic and that it also draws on behaviorist theories of learning. However, in NLP neuro
refers to beliefs about the brain and how it functions: the literature on NLP does not refer to theory
and research in neurolinguistics. Linguistic has nothing to do with linguistics but refers to a theory of
communication, one that tries to explain both verbal and nonverbal information

More Friendliness Administration Positions Are Being Taken...
More friendliness administration positions are being taken by alumni of neighborliness administration
programs than at any other time. The holders of degrees in accommodation administration consider
themselves experts entering the calling of neighborliness administration. Callings require specific
information and abilities, proceeding with instruction inside of the calling, and should be useful for the
group and society. While experts might get substantial pay rates, for an attempt to be a calling it must
have objectives past high pay and be worried with the long haul great of the organization furthermore
the group the organization works together in (Jaszay and Dunk, 2006). The accommodation business
is comprised of numerous organizations who are controlled by agents. Specialists who put fleeting

Imagine a world where our leaders were picked from random draw. That s exactly what the Athenians

There are a multitude of reasons why the United States republic differs from the Athenian
democracy, despite the differences they are also astoundingly similar. These differences lead to the
distinction between a republic,a form of government in which is held by the representatives of the
people s choosing, and a democracy, which translates to government by the people in greek. Although

For many years the asbestos industry manufacturers, suppliers, product developers, insurance
companies, etc claimed that they had no knowledge that asbestos could endanger the health and well

these firms instead chose to hide the facts and deny any allegations that asbestos was causing their
employees to get sick and die. However, the dangers related to the inhalation of asbestos fibers had
been known for close to two thousand years. In ancient Rome, Pilny the Elder observed that slaves
who were forced to work in the quarries exhibited a high degree of lung sickness. In 1918 a report

government started to direct the public s attention to the dangers associated with the use of asbestos.

No Heroes No Villains Summary
Sociology 461 Criminal Justice Systems Edward M. Stern No Heroes, No Villains; by Steven Phillips

trial of murder it offers a thoughtful and balanced presentation of the problems besetting our criminal
courts, lays bare the mechanics of justice, and explains in graphic detail just what is wrong and right
about our criminal justice system.
Throughout this book there are many important details leading up to the trial of James Richardson.
James Richardson was the accused in the case of the deceased NY Police Officer John Skagen. John

robbery remained unsolved.
The facts were not at all clear to the Police Officers or the attorneys who will soon face this case. The

Introduction:
This paper will be dynamically examining the tourism industry during the 2000s. It will begin by
using the PESTEL framework to analyse the macro environment and determine which factors drive
the competitive forces within the industry. Following this, Porter s Five Forces model will be used to
analyse the actual competitive forces at work within the industry and determine the relative
importance of these forces.

It also allows more bookings to be made simultaneously, which will make it possible for airlines to
process more bookings more quickly.
From an environmental perspective, it is apparent that the world is starting to realise that increases in
tourism are having a negative impact on the environment. This is due to increases in energy
consumption, which in turn heightens the effects of global warming (Neto, 2002). There are many
controls that governments are trying to put into place, such as flight rationing (Liverpool Business
School, 2009). However, it can be argued that these have not really begun to have a significant effect
on tourism, as they are still insufficient to dampen demand. It may become a problem in future years,
as the number of controls is likely to increase. Perhaps the largest environmental factor would be
natural disasters, like Hurricane Katrina (Cashell, 2005) and the tsunami that hit Asia in December
2004 (Birkland, 2006). These will impact negatively on people s confidence in visiting places that
have been hit severely by such disasters.
As can be seen, the macro environment has had a significant impact on the tourism industry during the
2000s. The key factors affecting tourism negatively would be the political, social and

Tone Of The Poem We Real Cool
In the poem We Real Cool, the tone of the story is very clearly brought to the attention of readers. The
first stanza of the poem says, We real cool/ We left school. We (662). This sets the tone that they are
tough guys, they don t want to be bothered, and they want no non sense from anyone. This is also
throughout the rest of the poem as well. Another specific example is the next stanza that reads, Lurk
late. We strike straight (662). To me, this means that if something happens, they re going to take care
of it right away. The poem continues in this fashion and includes words like sin, further showing that
tough guy approach. Contrary to Brooks poem, We Old Dudes takes on a much lighter tone, one that
is actually humorous. An example

Yet, A Reading Of Deleuze’S Concept Of ‘Becomings’ Enable
Yet, a reading of Deleuze s concept of becomings enable to approach the transitions from girl to
woman as discontinuous. Opposed to a measured linear unfolding and the idea of moving forward
evolution, it ought to capture the movement and doing of subjectivity as always in process. The
movement is thus rhizomatic, separated in multiple directions, thus divorcing the established idea of
linear transition. Feminine adolescence is not a transition from one state to another but a contingent
and in some senses reversible movement. Becomings therefore disrupt the public imagined
temporality which consider the innocent girl to slowly transform into an experienced sexual woman. It
also conceptualized these anti linear and sometimes queer ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During this time, the young female leans between two polarized state: maturity and innocence. She
experiences biological changes, inducing the maturation of her body with notably the swelling of hips
and breast. This inevitable natural episode induces girls to prevailing female representation as she
enters the stage of to be looked at ness . On the other hand, despite their womanly body, for their
young age, the girls remain childlike minded which promises the men dominancy to remain
unchallenged (American Girl 1999, Lolita). However, this liminality, innocence and experience,
endangers the stability of the established patriarchal structure. This figure simultaneously intrigues
and derange: her newly acquired sexual power represents a threat for the society as she can use her
body for disobedient purposes. This anxiety around teenage girls has been greatly expressed in
American teen girl narratives (Lolita, American Girl). Tomboy as a threat but rather seem to blurry the

Harlem Renaissance Book Report
In the New World, the Negros have had their fair share in being moved from place to place. In the
1920s , African Americans moved to Harlem, New York to start a new life for themselves. Harlem
became a place where Negros felt free from the segregated South and had liberties to explore their
artistic abilities. This movement was known as the Great Migration and although it appears this was a
major step for African Americans, there was still a lot of work to be done. The North had their targeted
issues with their new neighbors and voiced it as well. It was an imperative part of the United States

African Americans were portrayed by whites, who would entertain audiences in black face. While the
depiction of blacks was highly demeaning, it opened the door to African American performers, and by
the late 1800s, a number of them were playing to full houses. By the 1920s, the Jazz Age was in full
swing, allowing black musicians and composers to reach wider audiences. And in the thirties, musicals
such as George Gershwin s Porgy and Bess and Eubie Blake s Swing It opened the door a little wider.
As the years passed, black performers continued to gain ground. In the 1940s, Broadway productions
of Cabin in the Sky, Carmen Jones, and St. Louis Woman enabled African Americans to demonstrate a
fuller range of talents, and Paul Robeson reached national prominence in his awarding winning
portrayal of Othello. By the 1950s and 60s, more black actors―including Ruby Dee, Ossie Davis, and
Sidney Poitier―had found their voices on stage, and black playwrights and directors had begun to
make their marks.
Black Broadway provides an entertaining, poignant history of a Broadway of which few are aware. By

  • 2. The Growing Threat Of Cyber Warfare From Russia Benjamin Carver Mrs. Wuerfel English 12 Honors 6 February 2016 The Growing Threat of Cyber Warfare from Russia The next generation of terrorists will grow up in a digital world, with ever more powerful and easy to use hacking tools at their disposal. Dorothy E. Denning. This is becoming more and more apparent as time goes on. You hear something new every day about some company being hacked by the Chinese, Russians, Iranians, or North Koreans. The world we live in is becoming more and more digitized and, perhaps unsurprisingly, the threat of cyber terrorism is only growing with the evolving technology. Tensions have been rising rapidly largely due to the multiple cyber attacks being waged every day against various political ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (Paletta, Yadron, and Valentino DeVries A.1). Though the United States government seems to think that creating the most powerful hacking software is the best course of action, this will only lead to more cyber terrorism at the expense of everyday citizens. Looking to the past, it is obvious that engaging in an arms race can often lead to escalated conflicts. Some security experts warn that governments do not yet understand the power of the hacking tools being created, and that the situation is growing dangerously similar to the arms race induced powder keg Europe was before World War I erupted (Matthews). Although they were physical, arms races in the past led to such horrific conflicts such as the first World War and terrifying time periods such as the Cold War. Governments should be approaching this situation with much more caution. In order to ensure both the safety of the citizens of the world, as well as the well being of the world s nations, the digital arms race should be de escalated. Measures need to be taken to reduce the frequency of cyber attacks, as opposed to simply fighting back with more powerful hacking tools. Cybercrime and cyberterrorism are becoming increasingly more dangerous issues as time goes on. China appears to wage hacking attacks on other countries, especially the United States, more often than any other countries. Due to the frequency, many ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Great Dream Of Betty White Fame, to most, seems like a grand dream. Only a select few have experienced the spoils of fame, from the bothersome paparazzi to the masses of doting fanatics, and none have experienced fame in the same way as Betty White. For her, this dream became a fantastic reality. She is universally renowned for the charm, wit, and comedic talent that she brought to each and every scene. Betty White, dubbed The Queen of Television, is an award winning actress who is adored for her memorable starring roles and countless appearances, effectively securing a place for herself in the hearts of millions. On January 17, 1922, Betty Marion White was born an only child to homemaker Christine Tess and lighting company executive Horace Logan in Oak Park, Illinois. The family struggled considerably during the Great Depression, compelling White s father to build and sell radios to earn extra income. As a teenager, Betty White had aspirations to become a forest ranger ( Betty White ). Unfortunately, women were not accepted to be forest rangers during that time. White took advantage of her writing talent and consequently decided to pursue a writing career. In high school, Betty White even created her senior class play ( Betty White ). At first she appeared in theater and radio, but in 1949 White became a part of the Al Jarvis Variety Show. Betty was initially hired to handle Rushing 2 commercials on the program, but she worked her way up to becoming a co host. In 1952, White co founded Bandy ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Cynthia Whittaker s The Reforming Tsar In The Reforming Tsar: The Redefinition of Autocratic Duty in Eighteenth  Century Russia, Cynthia Whittaker argues that depending on the historical, cultural and contextual period, there can be demarcated two types, both distinctive and contrasting, of Russian sovereigns, namely the good tsar and the reforming tsar . The scholar juxtaposes the two models of monarchs against the backdrop of medieval versus modern type of governance. According to it the good tsar typology, which is typical for the earlier Muscovy realm, defines the ruler as pious and inert, characterized by its liturgical form and static nature of the rule. The good tsar is bound to uphold Orthodoxy, preserve and control public order, help the poor and the underdogs ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Nevertheless, despite the fact that I do not oppose to this assumption, I suggest that my analysis on the changing nature of the Russian monarchs starts with a discussion of the rule of Ivan III, whose image embodies some degree of ambivalence, before analyzing the two most illustrious examples of reforming monarchs in the Russian history, namely Peter the Great and Ekaterina the Great and elaborate on the reasons what impeded their successors from continuing the policy orientation of their predecessors, and became even more inert. Therefore, the subsequent section of the paper will first explore a couple of examples among the predecessors of Peter the Great, who in my view, albeit not being explicitly labeled as reforming tsars , undoubtedly have demonstrated some of the vital for a progressive ruler characteristics, then it will examine the two most notable examples of visionary sovereigns in the Russian history, before concluding and briefly elaborating on the present state of ... • 5. Holden Uses Defense Mechanisms Consequently, Holden uses defense mechanisms, as a means of preventing anxiety that would result from conscious awareness of disturbing impulses, wishes, or ideas arising from the id, (Nevid 471). Nevid explains that according to Freudian theory, defense mechanisms reside in the unconscious part of the human brain because if people were conscious of every single problem, people wouldn t be able to function. Therefore, Holden is subconsciously utilizing defense mechanisms in order to shield himself from confronting his problems. One major defense mechanism present in Holden s behavior is denial. Holden s resides in an ivory tower, reluctant to accept that he s actually hurt. For example, Holden encounters an elevator man named Maurice ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Although defense mechanisms can help put off a certain problem for some time, relying on defense mechanisms is not always beneficial because it gives people reasons to act irrationally. This clarification of Freud s theory is strongly portrayed in Holden s exaggerated view of reality. His denial triggers delusional fantasies in Holden s mind that he doesn t seem to think deeply about. For example, when one rash thought entered into Holden s mind, he delivers an ultimatum to Sally, saying, ...Tomorrow morning we could drive up to Massachusetts and Vermont...We ll stay in cabin camps until the dough runs out. Then, when the dough runs out, I could get a job somewhere, and we could live somewhere with a brook and all and, later on, we could get married or something, (Salinger 132). At the age of sixteen, as if it s not unrealistic enough, he tries to persuade Sally. When Sally gives him a reality check, he practically rages at her. Holden is so blinded by the fantasy world he created for himself and his defense mechanisms were giving Holden an excuse to acting abnormally. As a result, he blames Sally for the unreasonable idea he proposed, calling her a royal pain in the ass, (133). This irrational behavior of Holden is exactly what Freud is illustrating in his theory of personality that depending on defense mechanisms for relieving stressful ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

India and Japan sought to achieve Rule of Law to embody the values, institutions and principles in a modern liberal democratic country in order to modernize and adapt. Rule of law has two main functions, to protect its citizens and stop unequitable use of state power by remaining transparent, and, to protect its citizens with enforcement structures. In India, Western ideals and institutions were welcomed and successfully integrated with local culture. NEED EXAMPLES OF THIS The Constitution of Japan does not have any express provisions for the Rule of Law. However, it has insinuated in a number of Articles within the Constitution. For example, in Articles 1 to 8 the Emperor remains as a symbol of the state and carries out functions of the state but in contrast to the Meiji Constitution, his role is mainly ceremonial and the Emperor does not have any powers relating to the government. This indicates that justice is intended to be administered by impartial and independent justice institutions and kept separate from the Emperor and government bodies who are held accountable under the law in Article 41 to 95 of the Constitution of Japan. Specifically, in Article 98, Supreme Law implies Rule of Law upholds the accountability of government bodies and agents where all government actions are ruled under one Constitution. Another example is the incorporation of fundamental human rights in Article 97, which asserts the liberal doctrine of human rights and protects individual rights and liberties. IV. This was not just the job of a scrivener, but instead a representation of everyone working under the heal of the rich. Bartleby was a simple man in the beginning, he was the average worker. Some people see philosophers of the past as people who attempted to understand important aspects of human nature, different ideologies, and social problems only to fail or not provide universal answers or solutions. However, there are others who see the importance of philosophers and how they have become to understand aspects of life and human nature before anyone else; Plato is a person who sides with the argument that philosophers play an important role in society. In Plato s dialogue, Republic, he attempts to discover justice and to convey the importance philosophers possess in ensuring a just society. The main argument that will be addressed in this essay is that philosophers are useful and are essential to guarantee a truly just city. In this paper I will use Plato s dialogue, Republic, and the claims mentioned throughout to support and build my agreement with Plato in arguing that having philosophers in rule ensures a just and honest society. The main question presented in, Republic is what is justice; both in the individual and in the city. These concepts of justice need to be addressed before determining that by having philosophers in rule, the city will be truly just. By providing Plato s definition of justice in the individual and the city it will be easier to understand why philosophers are the only people who understand justice and how to implement it into a society. Once they raised enough, they made a trust to help the school. The Charity School finally had enough financial support to keep going. But Wheelock had trouble recruiting Native Americans to attend the institution due to the location being far away from the tribal territories. Behavior in this theory is also constricted to that particular body part in deviance, but biological theories unsuccessfully explain why people with similar biological characteristics differ. Asbestos Industry Research Paper For many years the asbestos industry manufacturers, suppliers, product developers, insurance companies, etc claimed that they had no knowledge that asbestos could endanger the health and well being of asbestos workers. Rather than protecting their employees and seeing a lower bottom line these firms instead chose to hide the facts and deny any allegations that asbestos was causing their employees to get sick and die. However, the dangers related to the inhalation of asbestos fibers had been known for close to two thousand years. In ancient Rome, Pilny the Elder observed that slaves who were forced to work in the quarries exhibited a high degree of lung sickness. However, within a short amount of time they instead chose to not admit to any wrong doing at all and neither would they admit to any liability. In the early 1970s various agencies in the government started to direct the public s attention to the dangers associated with the use of asbestos. Although they set up guidelines for its use the United States government chose not to ban its use. It also allows more bookings to be made simultaneously, which will make it possible for airlines to process more bookings more quickly. From an environmental perspective, it is apparent that the world is starting to realise that increases in tourism are having a negative impact on the environment. This is due to increases in energy consumption, which in turn heightens the effects of global warming (Neto, 2002). There are many controls that governments are trying to put into place, such as flight rationing (Liverpool Business School, 2009). However, it can be argued that these have not really begun to have a significant effect on tourism, as they are still insufficient to dampen demand. It may become a problem in future years, as the number of controls is likely to increase. Perhaps the largest environmental factor would be natural disasters, like Hurricane Katrina (Cashell, 2005) and the tsunami that hit Asia in December 2004 (Birkland, 2006). These will impact negatively on people s confidence in visiting places that have been hit severely by such disasters. As can be seen, the macro environment has had a significant impact on the tourism industry during the 2000s. The key factors affecting tourism negatively would be the political, social and ... The first stanza of the poem says, We real cool/ We left school. We (662). This sets the tone that they are tough guys, they don t want to be bothered, and they want no non sense from anyone. This is also throughout the rest of the poem as well. Another specific example is the next stanza that reads, Lurk late. We strike straight (662). To me, this means that if something happens, they re going to take care of it right away. The poem continues in this fashion and includes words like sin, further showing that tough guy approach. Opposed to a measured linear unfolding and the idea of moving forward evolution, it ought to capture the movement and doing of subjectivity as always in process. The movement is thus rhizomatic, separated in multiple directions, thus divorcing the established idea of linear transition. Feminine adolescence is not a transition from one state to another but a contingent and in some senses reversible movement. Becomings therefore disrupt the public imagined temporality which consider the innocent girl to slowly transform into an experienced sexual woman. She experiences biological changes, inducing the maturation of her body with notably the swelling of hips and breast. On the other hand, despite their womanly body, for their young age, the girls remain childlike minded which promises the men dominancy to remain unchallenged (American Girl 1999, Lolita). However, this liminality, innocence and experience, endangers the stability of the established patriarchal structure. This figure simultaneously intrigues and derange: her newly acquired sexual power represents a threat for the society as she can use her body for disobedient purposes. This anxiety around teenage girls has been greatly expressed in American teen girl narratives (Lolita, American Girl). Tomboy as a threat but rather seem to blurry the line between binary genders. When I got stung by a jellyfish, I felt that type of pain. We were driving our boat up the German Channel, the sky cloudless, the water a beautiful blue, and the sun shining across our faces. Colorful fish darted away fast as fighter jets as our boat drifted through the water. My brother, mom, dad, uncle and I were riding out to the German Channel, a popular diving site that also had many beaches. We re here! my uncle shouted as he powered off the engine. We climbed off the boat and onto the beach. I tossed off my slippers and felt the soft sand beneath my feet. What is this?! my brother exclaimed as he pointed at a black object that had just washed up shore. As I moved closer I saw that it was a sea cucumber! Come over here! I yelled. My brother and I walked over to a part of the beach protected from the sun by tall palm trees. Our mom came over and handed us old, wood sticks pulled of from trees. We all wrote our names in the sand and took a picture. Then my brother and I proceeded back out to the unshaded beach and we started digging a big hole.
