The Attainment Of Wealth And Social Status
The attainment of wealth and social status has been the goal for human beings since the beginning of
civilizations. Socioeconomic status [SES] is defined as a measure of one s level of education and
income (Friedman, H., Schustack, 2012, pg.420). The factors that contribute to one s success have
dumbfounded the masses. What makes a person more successful? Some may say the combination of
hard work and hint of luck is the key to success. However, it recent years psychologists have
questioned whether there is a correlation between socioeconomic status and personality. Researchers
have just recently begun to explore questions relating to status and individual characteristics. It is a
new emerging research topic, but they have begun to test many different aspects of the correlation to
find statistically significant relationships. Low socioeconomic status has been linked to poor health. A
possible explanation for this association may be characteristics of personality that influence health. A
2009 study conducted by the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience at Duke University sought
to assess the relationship between occupational status and individual characteristics. In this particular
study, 233 African American and Caucasian, male and female individuals volunteered to participate
and their parent s education, current SES (education and income), and personality were assessed.
Participants filled out the NEO PI R [10], a 240 item questionnaire measure of the five factor

King Hezekiah Essay
As a one reads through the Old Testament, he will find the story as it unfolds of the children of Israel.
Beginning in the book of Exodus the children of Israel are in Egyptian bondage and being forced to
work as slaves. God appears to Moses in a burning bush and tells him that He [God] has heard His
people and He is going to deliver them out of bondage. God at that time tells Moses that He has
chosen him to be the leader of this people. After God brings ten plagues against Egypt the children of
Israel are driven out of the land, and God promises to lead them to a land flowing with milk and
honey. On their way to the Promised Land they cross the Red Sea in which Pharaoh and the Egyptian
army is defeated by God. Then they go to Mount ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Once they reached a certain point God would allow them to be oppressed by someone. They would
then cry out to the lord and hHe would send a judge to deliver them; however, each time they never
achieved the height of faith that they had before. The end of the book of Judges sums up Israel as a
whole, here the writer says, In those days there was no king in Israel; everyone did what was right in
his own eyes (Judges 21:25). After this the children of Israel desired to have a king so that they would
be like everyone else. Samuel the prophet went to the Lord in prayer and was told to give them what
they wanted. During this time the Nation of Israel was still united and during the time they were
united there were three different kings Saul, David, and Solomon. Solomon was the last king to reign
during the time of the United Kingdom. However, since he chose to not follow in the footsteps of his
father David the kingdom was divided after his death. The northern kingdom came under the rule of
Jeroboam and the southern came under the rule of Rehoboam, the son of Solomon. This would begin a
period of time in which there would be many kings that ruled over the southern and northern
kingdoms. The northern kingdom would have nineteen kings during its history and all of them were
bad, meaning that they did not follow the ways of the Lord. The southern kingdom during its history
would have twenty kings of which some were

Dna Testing And Law Enforcement Officers Essay
DNA forensics is a division of forensic science that focuses on the use of genetic material in criminal
investigation to answer questions pertaining to legal situations, including criminal and civil cases.
Through DNA testing, law enforcement officers are able to identify human remains or the individual
responsible for a crime. DNA testing is a highly advanced scientific process that involves replicating
the human DNA sequence to create a genetic map of an individual. Because of its reliability, DNA
testing has become a significant factor in criminal cases. However, it has also been identified as
having the potential to violate privacy and constitutional rights. The DNA identification process
consists of five stages. These five stages include isolation, quantification, polymerase chain reaction,
short tandem polymerase chain reaction, and interpretation. Isolation refers to the extraction of DNA
from the nucleus of tissue cells. After extraction, scientists quantify the DNA sample by ensuring that
it is at least one billionth of a gram in size. If the sample is smaller the isolation process must be
repeated. Next, through polymerase chain reaction, the single strand of DNA is split down the middle
into two pieces and replicated to create a larger sample. Next, through short tandem polymerase chain
reaction, smaller sections of the DNA sequence are replicated. This allows scientists to interpret the
DNA and create a genetic profile of the individual from whom the original DNA

Effectiveness of In School Programs and After School programs
A Review of the Literature

Abstract
In recent years, the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) noticed the
increase in the number of teens between the ages of nine to seventeen being involved with gangs in
the United States. While most people would agree that gang membership is an individual choice,
scholars believe that it is more important to shift the focus of these programs from an individual level
to a community level. This literature review examines a few of the prevention programs the OJJDP
have implemented in the school s curriculum and after school ... Show more content on

The program is only effective so long as the teenager allows it to be. In other words, growing up in an
undeveloped community and a poor family could be contributing factors towards pushing adolescent
teens towards violence, drugs, and gangs. However, it is likely that if the teen is able to shift their
focus towards the positive aspects in their life, they can overcome the difficulties. I say this because
my cousin was raised in a good household, yet he chose to be involved with the wrong crowd even
after his parents raised him in a good neighborhood, with a good education, and participated in many
extracurricular activities. After sending him off to boot camp to try and straighten him up, he still
returned to his gang in which he calls his second family. Therefore, I feel biased towards the
effectiveness of these programs. However, I will remain objective in researching this topic. I will look
into all contributing factors and all of the preventive techniques in assessing the problem. I will also
compare both programs and analyze the two programs in depth. I will look into all the factors and
theories contributing to why teens would join gangs. Also I will evaluate the effectiveness of the
program based on my research and not my personal experience.

time of their con tract to be bound by their written agreement and to prior oral discussions. The buyer
contended that the largest portion of its damages stemmed from the loss of an orally bargained for

the limitation of warranties contained in the contract. The court concluded that the buyer s

did not give rise to the independent tort of fraud and there was insufficient evidence to demonstrate an

However, there is an exception to use parol evidence rule. In Hull Dobbs, Inc. v. Mallicoat, the court
stated that: The parol evidence rule does not apply where the parol evidence in no way contradicts or

African National Congress Youth League
Historical Details: Mandela joined the African National Congress(ANC) in 1942 and helped form the
African National Congress Youth League (ANCYL) in 1944 as an executive member.
In 1950, he became ANCYL president and continued the Programme of Action and expanded the Anti
Apartheid mission through the Defiance Campaign and Mandela Plan(M Plan).
In 1956, 156 ANCYL members, including Mandela, were arrested for treason. Though acquitted,
Mandela was imprisoned for traveling without a valid passport and inciting strikes.
During his time in prison, the Anti Apartheid Movement (AAM) and the United Democratic
Front(UDF) continued the fight against apartheid and a new democratic system.

Upon his release from prison, Mandela and the ANC renounced weapons and force.
Boehmer s Analysis: The Anti Apartheid mission and Mandela imitated a Gandhi style protest for the
various boycotts, Progamme of Action, and the Defiance Campaign. Eventually, the ANC and
Mandela believed the Algerian analyst Frantz Fanon armed struggle was a more effective model
against colonization. Mandela solidified his new creed in a speech to the Pan African Freedom
Movement of East and Central Africa (PAFMECA) named A Land Ruled By the Gun , where Mandela
hoped to establish a Pan African relationship with African governments and nationalist organizations.
Once released from prison, Mandela and the ANC again embraced the Gandhi form of non violent
discussion and negotiation.
My Analysis: Throughout Mandela s mission, he drew inspiration from across the myriad of the
ideological spectrum. Inspired by Gandhi, Mandela and the Anti Apartheid mission discovered the
foundation for the Defiance Campaign, M Plan, and Programme of Action. When Mandela and the
ANCYL felt the need for stronger resistance they found a new influence in Pan African support and
Frantz Fanon armed resistance. Mandela and the Anti Apartheid movement represent the duality of
political struggles capturing the anger that fuels an armed resistance and the hope that drives a pacifist
movement.

socialize with people, but also to help to the freshmen students on college overcome their shyness

Students need new friends, professors that help them in this process. Some of these students may feel
shy when it is related to making new friendships. However, by using Facebook event tool , students
can organize meetings in order to get in touch with each other even more or keep light relationships
with their classmates. Otherwise, shows that some of those less extroverted students may feel a bit
creepy to show up at one of these meetings. These new students would feel uncomfortable going to a
meeting and not knowing anyone. According to researchers have concluded that although Facebook is
the most popular social network in United States where we can communicate, many college students
prefer to use Twitter because it is more practical and easier to continue a dialogue, as it is just 140
characters per post. Twitter defines itself as a network of real time information that can connect to
issues of concern. Simply, you have to look for interest accounts and follow conversations . This

Juan Pujol Garcia s Operation Failure
Winston Churchill famously said, In time of war, when truth is so precious, it must be attended by a
bodyguard of lies (Churchill, 1986, p. 338). The bodyguard of lies which attended the Allied Forces
invasion of Normandy, France (codenamed Operation NEPTUNE) on 6 June 1944 was a large scale
deception operation, codenamed Operation FORTITUDE. A single British double agent operation was
the linchpin of this deception operation. This double agent succeeded in stalling Nazi reinforcements
to the Normandy for two months, thereby reducing Allied Forces casualties and saving the beachhead
expansion. Had German intelligence prioritized acquiring additional human intelligence and taken
greater care in vetting this agent, they would have seen through the deception and sent adequate forces
to counter the Allied beach landings at Normandy. Juan Pujol Garcia: A Brief History The man who

There are a variety of political and religious concepts throughout the Dune novels that varies so much

are popular with many fans and partly this is due because of its political and religious structures. This
essay will be focussing primarily on the first four Dune novels written by Frank Herbert. In the first

developed Reverend Mother [who is powerful Bene Gesserit]... and more a human of superior
sensitivity and awareness (Herbert Children of Dune 15). Their efforts at controlling this Kwisatz

different political Houses by not informing anyone of their real motives. Deceit is a tool of statecraft,

The Sniper
The Sniper places a strong emphasis on the evils of war, and yet paints a vivid image of mankind s
qualities and their society. Employing the technique of describing one particular sniper to symbolise a
general subject, readers are able to gain a deep insight into the evils of war. In this story, the assembly
of setting, contrasting characters and themes of fanaticism and division of loyalties are vital to
conveying the horror of war. On the other hand, The Sniper also discusses the power of war, depicting
it as the decider of life and death for men. Its force is further emphasised when neighbours are turned

Europe s Dependence On Russia
Europe faces a number of challenges when addressing its future energy needs. Increasing global
demand and competition for energy resources, instability in energy producing regions such as the
Middle East, and a population increasingly concerned with climate change are all challenges facing
Europe. As a result, energy security has become a critical issue for the European Union (EU).
To address some of these issues, Europe has turned to natural gas. Collectively, Europe is a major
importer of natural gas, and Russia is one of Europe s most important natural gas suppliers. Natural
gas consumption in Europe is going to continue to grow, especially as climate change issues become
more prominent. Yet, domestic natural gas production is likely ... Show more content on

to export LNG the European Union, specifically Germany, as a way to replace Russian natural gas in a
time of crisis? If so, would either party need to build out infrastructure to accommodate U.S. LNG
exports? What effect would U.S. LNG exports have on global natural gas supplies and prices?
The remainder of this paper will be structured as follows. The first section will outline Europe s, and
more specifically Germany s, natural gas needs and how much U.S. LNG would need to be exported
to replace German imports of Russian natural gas. Following that, a review of the current European
capacity and infrastructure will show that the E.U. could receive U.S. LNG in a crisis. After that, I will
examine the U.S. LNG infrastructure and export policy. I will argue that the problem with U.S. LNG
exports to Europe is not due to a lack of capacity or infrastructure, but rather dated export policy. To
be effective in providing energy security to the E.U. in a crisis, the U.S. will need to make policy
changes. Finally, given that the U.S. will soon begin exporting LNG, the last section will analyze what
effect U.S. exports will have on the global natural gas supply and the effect of non crisis European
demand for Russian natural gas.
European Natural Gas Needs

country. In 2013, roughly 33 percent of Italy s energy needs are met with imported natural gas, and

earth sciences appear to show that the Great Pyramid was a fantastic gadget for get together,
enhancing, and centering a baffling vitality field for the profound advantage of individuals. We don t
know precisely how the pyramid and its principle chamber were utilized, and the geometric structure
of the pyramid has been quietly adjusted by the evacuation of the packaging stones and the top stone
(Ruggles, 2015). None the less, the Great Pyramid of the Giza level still radiates incredible power as a
transformational force place. It has done as such for uncounted a huge number of years and appears to
be bound to proceed for a long time to come.
The Pyramid of Giza is a generous antiquated structure on the planet and the most baffling (Ruggles,
2015). As per winning archeological hypothesis and there is truly no proof to affirm this thought the
three pyramids on the Giza level are funerary structures of three kings of the fourth dynasty.
The Great Pyramid has intrigued individuals for a large number of years, yet the more it is examined,
the more inquiries emerge (Bartlett, 2014). The standard hypothesis, which it was fabricated as a tomb
for Pharaoh Khufu around 2360 B.C., utilizing just copper apparatuses, wood, rope and sweat, is still
around, yet it is less and less ready to answer the inquiries new proof offers ascend to. The new

Authoritarian Regimes And Totalitarian Regimes
In 20th century the global community witnessed a tremendous amount of chaos. World Wars, and
ideologically driven proxy wars brought destruction, and decline to many great countries. One would
think that many people have died in these wars, but it is shocking to note that four times as many
people have died at the hands of their government than in these wars. Institutions like the government
are created to represent the people, to serve, and benefit their welfare. A type of government that does
not follow this norm are often oppressive authoritarian regimes. These regimes can range from a one
party rule where a political party or group governs, to a one man rule. Whichever it may be,
authoritarian regimes tend to use similar tactics that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the early 20th century, Guatemala s future looked promising. The country had undergone social
democratic reform, making it a developing democratic nation. The first two democratically held
elections were won by nationalistic and reformist presidents. Progress and change is what the
Guatemalans wanted as they sought to rid themselves of the poverty that plagued their country. Jacobo
Arbenz succeeded Juan Jose Arevalo in 1950, and Arbenz would continue Arevalo s socialist policies.
These policies included land reforms that redistributed land to the indigenous population. The land
that was redistributed was previously expropriated from foreign companies, mainly the United States
industries such as the United Fruit Company. Under these foreign companies, the indigenous workers
endured intolerable treatment. Exposure to chemicals and malnutrition lead to the deaths of many
workers. With the motive to protect their interests, the U.S. s Center for Intelligence Agency
sponsored an intervention in Arbenz s presidency. A largely committed anti communist coup d etat
successfully overthrew the socialist government, which favored the U.S. s interests.
With the democratic government overthrown, the political instability lead to the raise of military rule
in Guatemala. There would be many military officers that would assume the role of the presidency.
Under the military rule, there were very unfavorable conditions for those that had

Walter Mitlter s Character Analysis
Walter Mitty is an average, middle aged man living a dull life, and is married to a bossy wife. He does
just about everything that Mrs. Mitty tells him to do, except see Dr. Renshaw; and because of all this,
Walter often daydreams about the more exciting lives that he could have possibly lived. These
daydreams become so elaborate that Walter is very easily distracted and does not communicate with
other people very well.
Walter s boring life leads him to become highly imaginative, though he grows more anti social at the
same time. All of this does not help him create bonds with anyone or feel as needed as he wants to be.
Walter s mundane life starts off with his wife telling him what he needs to do and go get. Mrs. Mitty
tells him to: slow down when he drives faster than forty kilometers per hour, to buy overshoes and
puppy biscuits, and asks why he s not wearing his driving gloves that she got for him (implying that
Walter should put them on). Knowing his wife would only be so long at the hair dresser and that she

highly skilled doctor, Dr. Prichard Mitford. Even Dr. Renshaw is there and asks Walter ot perform a

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Diazonuim Salts
Introduction:
Diazonuim salts are unsaturated compounds which have a trible bond.
There was a scientist his name was Griess, this scientist gave Diazo name to diazonuim salts as he
thought that two hydrogen atoms in the benzene ring will be replaced by two atoms of nitrogen.
Diazonuim salts divided into two types of salts:
Aromatic diazonuim salts and alephatic ( non aromatic) diazonuim salts.
Non aromatic salts are less important than aromatic.
Under normal conditions, diazonuim salt is highly unstable.
Dizonuim salts have some properites such as shock sensitive, decompose violenthly when heating and
they can conduct electricity, for this reason they are considered one of the electrolyte compounds.

Nurture The Reason It Has The Most Influence On Humans
Nurture the reason it has the most influence on a humans up bringing Humans are programmed to
carry out physical, mental and emotional developments, but what has the most influence on a human
upbringing and what shapes humans behaviour? Is is nurture which is the environment that we are
raised/socialization and our culture. Nurture the positive encouragement, from a parent or caregiver
towards the physical, mental and behavioural development of a individual. Or is nature your
biological factor/genes that a human obtain from their mother and father. As we go through life we go
through different developmental stages from infancy, adolescence/teenager through to adulthood.
Humans depend on the nurturing from our caregivers, and social groups to help us achieve our
developmental stages successfully, and contributes to a human behaviour. This why i feel that
nurturing has the most influence on a humans upbringing. Humans depend on the nurturing from
parents/caregivers to teach them independence, confidence, to have good self esteem and positive
behaviour. Humans learn through experience by what we see, hear and are taught though our culture
and our environment. Not every human in the world are raised the same, this makes everyone develop
and behave in different ways.. Not one human is the same. Nurturing help influence humans and the
way they behave and act towards other. This contributes to how human behaviour is shaped. Erik

Persuasive Essay About Sleeping Beauty
Sensual Sleeping Beauty Only recently have pieces of literature, film, and art been censored from
young children. Perrault s censorship began with the idea of a child and Disney s with the idea that
children should not be subjected to mature themes. Maturity is a praised attribute for children, yet they
are hindered by censorships. A little fluff goes a long way in distorting the important lessons from
original folktales and fairytales. Disney s Sleeping Beauty has emphasized unimportant elements of
the Perrault s Sleeping Beauty in the Woods by blurring the realities of growing up all because the
realities are found in sexual symbolism. Both versions of Sleeping Beauty are about a couple who has
a challenging time having children, and when they do become pregnant, the kingdom is overjoyed.
They end up having the most precious and beautiful girl in the realm. She is blessed by king s wise
fairies, but one old fairy is angered when she discovers she was left out. The other fairies did not
invite her because they thought she was dead. The old fairy then curses the young girl to die and is
saved by the last fairy who waited to go last and save the princess from the grouchy old fairy. The last
fairy changes her curse of death into a 100 year slumber. After the old fairy disappears, the king bans
all the spinning wheels to prevent the her fate. However, upon turning fifteen or sixteen the princess
meets an old lady in a tower and pricks her finger on the spindle and falls asleep until a king s son
shall come awaken her (Perrault). The fairies then put the entire kingdom in the same deep sleep until
the princess rises. When the right prince walks up to her, she awakens, and the kingdom lives happily
ever after. Symbolism in Perrault s Sleeping Beauty in the Woods is extremely significant with
explaining what was expected from young girls in the 1600s, especially concerning their maidenhood.
As a result, the symbolism tends to be overtly sexual the story attempts to teach young girls the
importance of their virginity and reality of marriage. This is most commonly executed using yonic or
phallic symbols, or female and male genitalia respectively. To begin, the title of the tale or the princess
s name usually

card; it is a very full CRM program. Boots invested an excess of 30 million Sterling pounds for the
loyalty card. Boot s Advantage Card is the largest smart card retail loyalty card scheme in the world.
The Advantage scheme currently has 12.3 million cardholders, and more than 40% of transactions in
store are now linked to the card. Prior to the national launch, Boots ran two trials in two cities. The
trials provided Boots with invaluable information and allowed them to fine tune the program to
maximise its financial contribution to the business before the decision was made to roll it out
nationally. By analysing the information provided through the Advantage Card, Boots gained
meaningful information into its customers shopping behaviour. It found that Advantage cardholders
shop more frequently than non cardholders, and on average spend 50% more than non cardholders.
The target market for the Advantage Card is females (83% of Boots customers are female) aged 20 45.

According to Phyllis Meadows (2009), Community health nurses are valued for their adaptability and
willingness to provide care in many settings, including community health clinics, churches, homeless
shelters, and schools, (p. 19). Community health nurses aim to improve health outcomes and improve
the infrastructure used to monitor and manage disease within the community. Healthy People 2020 has

These factors can create barriers for a community nurse in providing care for individuals and
addressing the needs of the community. Because of diverse populations it is important that community
nurses develop cultural competence and are educated and prepared to address these differences within

Nursing diagnosis and interventions appropriate to use within this community include: Nutritional
deficiency related to lack of access to grocery stores. Interventions may include nutritional
assessment, identification and referrals to help resources (e.g., WIC or assistance office), and
education regarding appropriate foods needed to meet nutritional needs. A diagnosis of risk for fluid
volume deficit related to farming during high temperatures includes interventions such as educating
and emphasizing the need for adequate fluid intake during times of increased activities and high
temperatures and how to recognize signs of dehydration. Nursing interventions for a diagnosis of risk
for injury related to work environment/occupation or environmental wastes may include educating on
proper body mechanics and ensuring equipment in use is working properly and individuals are trained
how to use such equipment. Another diagnosis of risk of poisoning related to chemicals associated
with place of employment, high possibility of drinking water contamination, and presence of lead

Ralph s Spears Quotes
The spears symbolize the wrong use of power. When Ralph was in charge, no one used spears, except
for the hunters, who were only a minority of the group. After Jack became leader of his own tribe,
everyone had a spear. Jack did this so the boys would feel that they were more powerful if they were
part of his tribe. Close to the end of Lord of the Flies , Ralph learns from Samneric that Roger
sharpened a stick at both ends. (p.211) This meant that they were going to do the same thing to Ralph,
as they did with the Lord of the Flies cut his head off and place it on the stick. Ultimately, the spears
divided the boys instead of bringing peace and unity to them. The log represents how the boys tried to
be civilized by having assemblies, but they failed. In the beginning, Ralph would blow the conch, to
call everyone to gather around and sit on the logs for the assemblies. After, when most of the kids had
joined Jack s tribe, no one came to the assemblies. This was because every child got corrupted with
Jack s thoughts and joined him, even though he was unsuccessful in creating a civilized community.
Furthermore, the boys didn t care about rescue anymore. The boys started out as a utopian society, but
ended up as a dystopian society. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

United States Should Increase The Visa Cap
The H 1B visa, originally created to streamline admissions of temporary foreign workers to the United
States, has become a topic of much debate between the foes of immigration and the information
technology (IT) industry. The debate is focused on whether to increase the visa cap in order to
alleviate what the industry describes as a shortage of IT labor. This argument, however, obscures the
fundamental flaw of the H 1B program that deserves a more prudent examination. The current H 1B
visa program is plagued with inefficiencies that privilege the IT industry at the expense of both visa
holders and domestic IT workers alike. The H 1B program needs a complete overhaul, and should
include a mechanism to ensure that both employers and employees abide by free market forces.
Increasing the current visa cap will only amplify current inefficiencies of the H 1B visa program.
Alternatively, allowing visa holders the ability to access a greater range of employment opportunities
increases the holder s incentive to make economic contributions. The industry s ability to hire globally
must be balance by workers rights to seek out more competitive opportunities. Current mobility
restrictions of the H 1B program are preventing valuable workers from seeking the most valuable
opportunities, ultimately leading to a misallocation of foreign labor. H 1B visa reform that includes a
role for labor mobility will not only introduce market forces into the bigoted program, but will also
help ensure

Camphor Reduction Reaction Lab Report
The purpose of this experiment was to perform a reduction reaction using camphor in methanol with
sodium borohydride. This reaction generated a mixture of diasteroemers; bornoel and isoborneol.
NMR analysis was used to determine the product ratio of isoborneol to borneol. In this experiment,
100 mg of camphor, appearing as white crystals, were dissolve in 1 mL methanol. Four portions of
approximately 25 mg of sodium borohydride were added. The reaction mixture was refluxed for 5
minutes and cooled to room temperature. The reaction flask was then placed into ice bath and filtrated
by vacuum filtration. The mixture of isoborneol and borneol appeared to as a white powder. Camphor

This is very high yield, which indicate there weren t any errors in this experiment. As seen the
calculations, the product ratio between isoborneol to borneol is 3.91. This means that for every 3.91

Shakespeare s Macbeth
Creating Sympathy for Macbeth
The dark aura surrounding Shakespeare s Macbeth is well deserved, as is the darkness shrouding its
title character. Although Macbeth is certainly a villainous, evil man based solely on his actions, a
fuller examination of his character s portrayal leads to a more sympathetic view of him. The play does
not portray Macbeth simply as a cold blooded murderer, but rather as a tortured soul attempting to
deal with the atrocities surrounding him.
Before any of the murderous activity occurs, Macbeth does not experience small, ambiguous
premonitions, he is directly told by mysterious, dark figures things that are ordained to happen.
Although these mysterious prophecies seem doubtful at first, ... Show more content on

Although it certainly does not excuse his actions, the fact that she planned the murders, encouraged
him to lie and deceive the other nobles at the banquets, basically convinced him to carry the initial
murder out, and repeatedly attempted to make him forget the act and move on, would seem to partially
incriminate her. If Macbeth had a wife who was a stark contrast to him, one who abhorred murder and
attempted to talk him out of it, then his crime would have seemed all the more horrendous since even
his closes confidant advised him against it. As it is, Lady Macbeth s twisted cruelty and conniving
serve to further a small sense of sympathy for the guilty Macbeth.
An important aspect of Macbeth s portrayal is that he shows extreme remorse after the killing of
Duncan, and attempts to avoid killing Macduff due to the guilt he feels for all the other murders he has
committed. While his wife feels just a little water will cleanse them from the deed, Macbeth s own
answer to his question Will all great Neptune s ocean wash this / blood clean from my hand? is a
resounding no. Macbeth realizes the severity of his act and guilt, and this is central in evoking a sense
of sympathy from the audience. Macbeth knows that he has done wrong; most can attempt to feel
some sympathy or forgiveness for someone who knows they have done wrong and suffers constantly

The pods are cut open with machetes to reveal between 20 to 40 beans each, surrounded by a mass of
stickly, white pulp. Traditionally, this was done immediately after harvest; today, pods are sometimes
first stored whole for a few days to prime them for fermentation. Fermenting begins when the beans
come into contact with the air. Here, a workrt uses a stick to gauge the depth of the mass in a vara, or
measuring box, to determine the wage of the harvester, before transferring it to the fermentation bin.
During fermentation, the pulp disintegrates, producing steamy heat and a pervasive, yeasty, sour
smell. It is at this point that the beans first develop thier complex characteristics. Drying of the beans
after fermentation is done on slatted wooden trays in the open air. The beans are spread out evenly and
raked periodically so that they dry uniformly. As the beans dry, their colors deepen, turning them into
a carpet of sepia, umber, and mocha. Aeration of the dried beans during storage is important to prevent
the formation of mold. A worker tosses beans with a shovel to expose them evenly to the air. Grading
of the beans is done mechanically at the larger farms; smaller producers do it by hand. From baskets,
the dried beans are transferred to burlap bags and transported to local selling stations, where they may
be bought by large companies for export. Arriving at the chocolate mills, the beans undergo

In Puerto Rico, political parties are associated to the three status choices. There is the New Progressive

  • 2. The Attainment Of Wealth And Social Status The attainment of wealth and social status has been the goal for human beings since the beginning of civilizations. Socioeconomic status [SES] is defined as a measure of one s level of education and income (Friedman, H., Schustack, 2012, pg.420). The factors that contribute to one s success have dumbfounded the masses. What makes a person more successful? Some may say the combination of hard work and hint of luck is the key to success. However, it recent years psychologists have questioned whether there is a correlation between socioeconomic status and personality. Researchers have just recently begun to explore questions relating to status and individual characteristics. It is a new emerging research topic, but they have begun to test many different aspects of the correlation to find statistically significant relationships. Low socioeconomic status has been linked to poor health. A possible explanation for this association may be characteristics of personality that influence health. A 2009 study conducted by the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience at Duke University sought to assess the relationship between occupational status and individual characteristics. In this particular study, 233 African American and Caucasian, male and female individuals volunteered to participate and their parent s education, current SES (education and income), and personality were assessed. Participants filled out the NEO PI R [10], a 240 item questionnaire measure of the five factor ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. King Hezekiah Essay As a one reads through the Old Testament, he will find the story as it unfolds of the children of Israel. Beginning in the book of Exodus the children of Israel are in Egyptian bondage and being forced to work as slaves. God appears to Moses in a burning bush and tells him that He [God] has heard His people and He is going to deliver them out of bondage. God at that time tells Moses that He has chosen him to be the leader of this people. After God brings ten plagues against Egypt the children of Israel are driven out of the land, and God promises to lead them to a land flowing with milk and honey. On their way to the Promised Land they cross the Red Sea in which Pharaoh and the Egyptian army is defeated by God. Then they go to Mount ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Once they reached a certain point God would allow them to be oppressed by someone. They would then cry out to the lord and hHe would send a judge to deliver them; however, each time they never achieved the height of faith that they had before. The end of the book of Judges sums up Israel as a whole, here the writer says, In those days there was no king in Israel; everyone did what was right in his own eyes (Judges 21:25). After this the children of Israel desired to have a king so that they would be like everyone else. Samuel the prophet went to the Lord in prayer and was told to give them what they wanted. During this time the Nation of Israel was still united and during the time they were united there were three different kings Saul, David, and Solomon. Solomon was the last king to reign during the time of the United Kingdom. However, since he chose to not follow in the footsteps of his father David the kingdom was divided after his death. The northern kingdom came under the rule of Jeroboam and the southern came under the rule of Rehoboam, the son of Solomon. This would begin a period of time in which there would be many kings that ruled over the southern and northern kingdoms. The northern kingdom would have nineteen kings during its history and all of them were bad, meaning that they did not follow the ways of the Lord. • 5. Dna Testing And Law Enforcement Officers Essay DNA forensics is a division of forensic science that focuses on the use of genetic material in criminal investigation to answer questions pertaining to legal situations, including criminal and civil cases. Through DNA testing, law enforcement officers are able to identify human remains or the individual responsible for a crime. DNA testing is a highly advanced scientific process that involves replicating the human DNA sequence to create a genetic map of an individual. Because of its reliability, DNA testing has become a significant factor in criminal cases. However, it has also been identified as having the potential to violate privacy and constitutional rights. The DNA identification process consists of five stages. These five stages include isolation, quantification, polymerase chain reaction, short tandem polymerase chain reaction, and interpretation. Isolation refers to the extraction of DNA from the nucleus of tissue cells. After extraction, scientists quantify the DNA sample by ensuring that it is at least one billionth of a gram in size. If the sample is smaller the isolation process must be repeated. Next, through polymerase chain reaction, the single strand of DNA is split down the middle into two pieces and replicated to create a larger sample. Next, through short tandem polymerase chain reaction, smaller sections of the DNA sequence are replicated. This allows scientists to interpret the DNA and create a genetic profile of the individual from whom the original DNA ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Crim 301 Literature Review Essay Effectiveness of In School Programs and After School programs A Review of the Literature California State University Los Angeles Criminology 301 Professor Jenny June 7, 2012 Abstract In recent years, the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) noticed the increase in the number of teens between the ages of nine to seventeen being involved with gangs in the United States. While most people would agree that gang membership is an individual choice, scholars believe that it is more important to shift the focus of these programs from an individual level to a community level. This literature review examines a few of the prevention programs the OJJDP have implemented in the school s curriculum and after school ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The program is only effective so long as the teenager allows it to be. In other words, growing up in an undeveloped community and a poor family could be contributing factors towards pushing adolescent teens towards violence, drugs, and gangs. However, it is likely that if the teen is able to shift their focus towards the positive aspects in their life, they can overcome the difficulties. I say this because my cousin was raised in a good household, yet he chose to be involved with the wrong crowd even after his parents raised him in a good neighborhood, with a good education, and participated in many extracurricular activities. After sending him off to boot camp to try and straighten him up, he still returned to his gang in which he calls his second family. The buyer contended that the largest portion of its damages stemmed from the loss of an orally bargained for system. The court held that a clause in the parties contract prohibited the inclusion of any understandings or representations not expressly included in the con tract. It appeared that the buyer intended to use the parol evidence not to explain or to supplement the contract, but rather to contradict the limitation of warranties contained in the contract. Or is nature your biological factor/genes that a human obtain from their mother and father. As we go through life we go through different developmental stages from infancy, adolescence/teenager through to adulthood. Humans depend on the nurturing from our caregivers, and social groups to help us achieve our developmental stages successfully, and contributes to a human behaviour. This why i feel that nurturing has the most influence on a humans upbringing. Humans depend on the nurturing from parents/caregivers to teach them independence, confidence, to have good self esteem and positive behaviour. Humans learn through experience by what we see, hear and are taught though our culture and our environment. Not every human in the world are raised the same, this makes everyone develop and behave in different ways.. Not one human is the same. Nurturing help influence humans and the way they behave and act towards other. This contributes to how human behaviour is shaped. Erik Erikson (1902 1994) believes that ... • 25. Persuasive Essay About Sleeping Beauty Sensual Sleeping Beauty Only recently have pieces of literature, film, and art been censored from young children. Perrault s censorship began with the idea of a child and Disney s with the idea that children should not be subjected to mature themes. Maturity is a praised attribute for children, yet they are hindered by censorships. A little fluff goes a long way in distorting the important lessons from original folktales and fairytales. Disney s Sleeping Beauty has emphasized unimportant elements of the Perrault s Sleeping Beauty in the Woods by blurring the realities of growing up all because the realities are found in sexual symbolism. Both versions of Sleeping Beauty are about a couple who has a challenging time having children, and when they do become pregnant, the kingdom is overjoyed. They end up having the most precious and beautiful girl in the realm. She is blessed by king s wise fairies, but one old fairy is angered when she discovers she was left out. The other fairies did not invite her because they thought she was dead. The old fairy then curses the young girl to die and is saved by the last fairy who waited to go last and save the princess from the grouchy old fairy. The last fairy changes her curse of death into a 100 year slumber. After the old fairy disappears, the king bans all the spinning wheels to prevent the her fate. However, upon turning fifteen or sixteen the princess meets an old lady in a tower and pricks her finger on the spindle and falls asleep until a king s son shall come awaken her (Perrault). The fairies then put the entire kingdom in the same deep sleep until the princess rises. When the right prince walks up to her, she awakens, and the kingdom lives happily ever after. Symbolism in Perrault s Sleeping Beauty in the Woods is extremely significant with explaining what was expected from young girls in the 1600s, especially concerning their maidenhood. As a result, the symbolism tends to be overtly sexual the story attempts to teach young girls the importance of their virginity and reality of marriage. This is most commonly executed using yonic or phallic symbols, or female and male genitalia respectively. To begin, the title of the tale or the princess s name usually ... • 26. Boots Vs. Boot s Atomic Model Essay The online business that I chose to do is Boots. Boot s atomic model is direct to the consumer (B2C Model). Boots is a pharmacy chain in the United Kingdom and Ireland. Boots is the U.K. s leading health and beauty retailer. Ninety percent of the U.K. s 60 million population visits a Boots store at least once a year. The company has an annual turnover of around 3 billion Sterling pounds. Boots first began planning a loyalty card in November 1993, but what they built is much more than a loyalty card; it is a very full CRM program. Boots invested an excess of 30 million Sterling pounds for the loyalty card. Boot s Advantage Card is the largest smart card retail loyalty card scheme in the world. The Advantage scheme currently has 12.3 million cardholders, and more than 40% of transactions in store are now linked to the card. Prior to the national launch, Boots ran two trials in two cities. The trials provided Boots with invaluable information and allowed them to fine tune the program to maximise its financial contribution to the business before the decision was made to roll it out nationally. By analysing the information provided through the Advantage Card, Boots gained meaningful information into its customers shopping behaviour. It found that Advantage cardholders shop more frequently than non cardholders, and on average spend 50% more than non cardholders. The target market for the Advantage Card is females (83% of Boots customers are female) aged 20 45. The value ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Interventions may include nutritional assessment, identification and referrals to help resources (e.g., WIC or assistance office), and education regarding appropriate foods needed to meet nutritional needs. A diagnosis of risk for fluid volume deficit related to farming during high temperatures includes interventions such as educating and emphasizing the need for adequate fluid intake during times of increased activities and high temperatures and how to recognize signs of dehydration. Nursing interventions for a diagnosis of risk for injury related to work environment/occupation or environmental wastes may include educating on proper body mechanics and ensuring equipment in use is working properly and individuals are trained how to use such equipment. • 28. Ralph s Spears Quotes The spears symbolize the wrong use of power. When Ralph was in charge, no one used spears, except for the hunters, who were only a minority of the group. After Jack became leader of his own tribe, everyone had a spear. Jack did this so the boys would feel that they were more powerful if they were part of his tribe. Close to the end of Lord of the Flies , Ralph learns from Samneric that Roger sharpened a stick at both ends. (p.211) This meant that they were going to do the same thing to Ralph, as they did with the Lord of the Flies cut his head off and place it on the stick. Ultimately, the spears divided the boys instead of bringing peace and unity to them. The log represents how the boys tried to be civilized by having assemblies, but they failed. In the beginning, Ralph would blow the conch, to call everyone to gather around and sit on the logs for the assemblies. After, when most of the kids had joined Jack s tribe, no one came to the assemblies. This was because every child got corrupted with Jack s thoughts and joined him, even though he was unsuccessful in creating a civilized community. Furthermore, the boys didn t care about rescue anymore. The boys started out as a utopian society, but ended up as a dystopian society. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 29. United States Should Increase The Visa Cap The H 1B visa, originally created to streamline admissions of temporary foreign workers to the United States, has become a topic of much debate between the foes of immigration and the information technology (IT) industry. The debate is focused on whether to increase the visa cap in order to alleviate what the industry describes as a shortage of IT labor. This argument, however, obscures the fundamental flaw of the H 1B program that deserves a more prudent examination. The current H 1B visa program is plagued with inefficiencies that privilege the IT industry at the expense of both visa holders and domestic IT workers alike. The H 1B program needs a complete overhaul, and should include a mechanism to ensure that both employers and employees abide by free market forces. Increasing the current visa cap will only amplify current inefficiencies of the H 1B visa program. Alternatively, allowing visa holders the ability to access a greater range of employment opportunities increases the holder s incentive to make economic contributions. The industry s ability to hire globally must be balance by workers rights to seek out more competitive opportunities. Current mobility restrictions of the H 1B program are preventing valuable workers from seeking the most valuable opportunities, ultimately leading to a misallocation of foreign labor. H 1B visa reform that includes a role for labor mobility will not only introduce market forces into the bigoted program, but will also help ensure ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 30. Camphor Reduction Reaction Lab Report The purpose of this experiment was to perform a reduction reaction using camphor in methanol with sodium borohydride. This reaction generated a mixture of diasteroemers; bornoel and isoborneol. NMR analysis was used to determine the product ratio of isoborneol to borneol. In this experiment, 100 mg of camphor, appearing as white crystals, were dissolve in 1 mL methanol. Four portions of approximately 25 mg of sodium borohydride were added. The reaction mixture was refluxed for 5 minutes and cooled to room temperature. The reaction flask was then placed into ice bath and filtrated by vacuum filtration. The mixture of isoborneol and borneol appeared to as a white powder. Camphor is the limiting reagent in this reaction, which will theoretically yield 0.101 g of borneol. Compared to the example with integration ratio of 2.314 and 9.497, a product ratio of 5.13 was calculated. The product ratios are similar, however, in this experiment much less borneol was found. Even in the NMR displayed in figure A, it was difficult locating the peak B, which represented borneol. • 31. Shakespeare s Macbeth Creating Sympathy for Macbeth The dark aura surrounding Shakespeare s Macbeth is well deserved, as is the darkness shrouding its title character. Although Macbeth is certainly a villainous, evil man based solely on his actions, a fuller examination of his character s portrayal leads to a more sympathetic view of him. The play does not portray Macbeth simply as a cold blooded murderer, but rather as a tortured soul attempting to deal with the atrocities surrounding him. Before any of the murderous activity occurs, Macbeth does not experience small, ambiguous premonitions, he is directly told by mysterious, dark figures things that are ordained to happen. Although it certainly does not excuse his actions, the fact that she planned the murders, encouraged him to lie and deceive the other nobles at the banquets, basically convinced him to carry the initial murder out, and repeatedly attempted to make him forget the act and move on, would seem to partially incriminate her. If Macbeth had a wife who was a stark contrast to him, one who abhorred murder and attempted to talk him out of it, then his crime would have seemed all the more horrendous since even his closes confidant advised him against it. As it is, Lady Macbeth s twisted cruelty and conniving serve to further a small sense of sympathy for the guilty Macbeth. An important aspect of Macbeth s portrayal is that he shows extreme remorse after the killing of Duncan, and attempts to avoid killing Macduff due to the guilt he feels for all the other murders he has committed. While his wife feels just a little water will cleanse them from the deed, Macbeth s own answer to his question Will all great Neptune s ocean wash this / blood clean from my hand? is a resounding no. Macbeth realizes the severity of his act and guilt, and this is central in evoking a sense of sympathy from the audience. Traditionally, this was done immediately after harvest; today, pods are sometimes first stored whole for a few days to prime them for fermentation. Fermenting begins when the beans come into contact with the air. Here, a workrt uses a stick to gauge the depth of the mass in a vara, or measuring box, to determine the wage of the harvester, before transferring it to the fermentation bin. During fermentation, the pulp disintegrates, producing steamy heat and a pervasive, yeasty, sour smell. It is at this point that the beans first develop thier complex characteristics. Drying of the beans after fermentation is done on slatted wooden trays in the open air. The beans are spread out evenly and raked periodically so that they dry uniformly. As the beans dry, their colors deepen, turning them into a carpet of sepia, umber, and mocha. Aeration of the dried beans during storage is important to prevent the formation of mold. A worker tosses beans with a shovel to expose them evenly to the air. Grading of the beans is done mechanically at the larger farms; smaller producers do it by hand. From baskets, the dried beans are transferred to burlap bags and transported to local selling stations, where they may be bought by large companies for export.
