This document discusses blended learning courses on the OPEN edX platform used at UC3M. It provides details on: - The OPEN edX platform which supports over 72 courses with 3600 videos and 330 users. - Gamification features added to motivate students to complete pre-class videos and exercises, including a mobile app, points systems, rankings, and notifications. - Analytics dashboards for both teachers and students that provide metrics on video viewing, exercise attempts, forum activity, rankings, and more to track student progress. - Over 5 million events have been tracked since September 2016 to generate 30 analytics graphs in real-time. - A pilot program involved 2000 students. Future plans include more graphs

9. Courses Flipped clasroom
• They are deployed as SPOC under the OpenEDX platform
• They replace, totally or partially, the classroom classes
• The course is divided into weeks/modules
• The student has the contents available one week before

11. How does it works
• Introduce systems of gamification and social pressure
• Make a custom app(IOS & Android).
• Do changes on G-EL and OpenEDX.
• Students can play in the app and in OpenEDX
• Content opens at both platforms simultaneously
• Students receive points for viewing the videos and doing the exercises.
• Students know at all times what percentage of the videos they have seen (in
App and OpenEDX)
• We encourage students to work continuously giving extra bonus when entering
the platform consecutive days
• The students know at all times their position in the ranking through the app
• We have developed a notification system via the application to encourage
student work. The main notifications are:
• Begin /End week /section.
• Pending tasks.
• Obtaining Points(app and Open edX)
• Notification if the student has outstanding tasks
• There is a color code that allows students to see their activity of the week.
