Aristotle s Claim That The Highest Form Of Life
EXPLAIN AND CRITICALLY EXAMINE ARISTOTLE S CLAIM THAT THE HIGHEST FORM
OF LIFE IS ONE DEDICATED TO THOUGHT AND CONTEMPLATION
Introduction:
This essay is aimed at reviewing Aristotle s philosophical claim that thought and contemplation is
the highest form of life, with a view to explaining the veracity of his theory. Aristotle, like many
other philosophers wrote extensively on a variety of issues. His deep rooted conviction for a
society based on such theoretical foundation of thought, contemplation, reason and logic, made him
explore the perimeters of knowledge to advance the society on the foundation of knowledge. Most
of Aristotle s life was dedicated to the search for knowledge. Contemplation naturally brings about
knowledge, which is the base of discovery. For Aristotle, the life of unbroken contemplation is
something divine. It is the ultimate intellectual virtue, and it is the highest form of human activity.
Like Plato s postulation of the philosopher king or king philosopher as the ruler of society, Aristotle
s theory of thought and contemplation places premium on education, wisdom and knowledge as
basis for happiness, fulfilment and harmony. Socrates personally demonstrated this by staying in
isolation at some point to have the luxury of undisturbed thoughts, contemplation and meditation.
The ancient, medieval and modern philosophers gave a lot of time to this highest form of life, and
this explains the potency behind their prolific writings which has stood the

The Negative Impact Of Globalization
Intro Globalization has been a controversial topic, does it have a negative impact or positive
impact internationally. This essay will first discuss the effects of globalization on the international
system. Secondly, the essay will examine realism and how this theory explains globalization.
Lastly, this essay will discuss how realism is a tool that effectively explains the issue of
globalization.
Globalization
Globalization is a system to exercise and distribute power; it s a winner and loser system. Levels
of globalization vary as well how a country benefits from the system. The process of
globalization is mostly seen in terms of economic globalization; however, there are other aspects
of it that impacts international security and the meaning of power. There are three dimensions to
economic globalization: globalization of labor, globalization of production, and the globalization
of finance. Globalization of labor is the integration of national labor markets due to the increase
of mobility (Kegley, 244). Globalization of production refers to how multiple countries produced
different parts to complete the product. Corporations have supply chains in different countries.
Both labor and production globalization cause goods to be produced by people working in
different parts of the world instead of it being produced locally by the locals (Kegley, 2014).
Offshoring of jobs is a complaint of globalization. Manufacturing, services and investments are

Campus Reach Internship Program
It gives me great pleasure to recommend Haley Parrish for the Campus Reach Internship
Program. Haley has been one of my employees since April of 2016. Her role in my company is to
lead tumbling and fitness classes for 3 to 18 year olds. Haley goes above and beyond her role as
an instructor by investing herself fully into the children she works with and performing the
tasks I ask of her. The work ethic Haley displays is one that cannot be matched. Her devotion to
her studies and extracurriculars is a valuable trait. Her dedication to her classes has not only
earned her a continuous spot on the Dean s List, but has also helped to further her knowledge for
the workplace she aspires to be in. Haley is an active member in her sorority and has

Economic Impact of Tourism on the Pacific Rim Essay
Economic Impact of Tourism on the Pacific Rim
Introduction
The Pacific Rim is a grouping of countries in the Pacific Ocean[1] that start from the Korean
peninsula down through south East Asia. Some of the common countries in this region are;
Thailand, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei.
The current economic situation has been gleam with poor performance from the main economic

To maximise foreign exchange earnings efficiency, countries where imports are attained from
should be targeted for tourism promotion, so as to allow influx of there currency. E.g. if most of
the mechanical imports come from Switzerland the government usually has to source Swiss Francs.
This can be done by targeting Swiss tourists.
Rise in Gross National Product
Tourism is an economic activity that provides to the GNP and per capita income of a country. In
countries with rich tourist history it could provide up to 25% of the local economy.
In 1994 Korea[3] for instance set up a successful 5 year plan that help them achieve a U.S $ 500
million income from tourism this target was shifted to US $ 10 Billion for the year 2000.(ref)
Increased revenue for the government
Government income rises in form of taxes; this could range from a multiple of options;
Visa fees; this is fee issued to passport holders of all or select countries to gain entrance into the
country. This can income can be sort after at the entry port i.e. airports, harbour docks or
International rail stations or at the Countries embassy/Consulate/ High commission in the country
of tourist origin.
The visa fees are usually categorised by the duration of stay, the frequency of return trips and reason
for entry.[4]

How Does Temperature Effect Earthworms?
Introduction
When one thinks of earthworms usually one thinks about slimy and nasty creatures that are only
used for fishing. Wrong! If there were no worms on earth, farms and many plants could not be
properly maintained. This paper will explain how important earthworms are to the earth and to our
environment. In addition, this paper will cover the origin of an earthworm, the anatomy and other
important characteristics. Origin The origin of earthworms were said to be on earth around 200
millions ago. Their ancestors were marine worms, existing before there was even soil on this planet
and vegetation. These worms underwent a slow process of adapting themselves to a new ... Show

Earthworms slowly bring soil to the surface and cover objects on the ground. This is one reason
why archaeologists have to dig down underneath the ground to find fossils. Night crawlers burrows
can go as far as 15 feet underground. Night crawlers have something that no other animal has. They
have five pairs of hearts. The hearts pump blood with the earthworm s muscular contractions. Only
two main blood vessels make up the earthworms body. The ventral blood vessel sends blood to the
rear end of the worm. The dorsal vessels pumps blood to the front end of the body and blood
travels through the ventral vessels into the capillaries on the body wall and the many other organs.
Anatomy The body of the earthworms is considered slimy and weird. Earthworm s body contains
80% water and 70% protein. Fat makes up anywhere from 1 to 17 percent. The body divided into
100 segments. These segments contain a pair of metanephridia, which drain the adjacent anterior
segments. The bristles help the earthworm hold its ground when trying to be pulled from its
burrow. For instance, a bird pulls off 6 to 7 segments; therefore new segments will grow back.
Earthworms are invertebrates, which mean they have no backbone. The mucus on the body helps
the worm travel through their burrow smoothly. As the earthworm travels underground the mucus
holds the dirt from collapsing on the worm.

The Insolvency And Employment Law
The sale or transfer of an insolvent undertaking creates an interaction between differing bodies of
law. The main statutes are the insolvency and employment law, principally although not exclusively
encapsulated by TUPE (TUPE, 2006). The interaction between these laws is of particular interest to
this study. Insolvencylegislation is focussed upon the rescue of the company and employment
legislation is concerned with employee protection.
The interaction between the afore mentioned legislation is inevitable, with the potential for
employment protection and business rescue to be characterised by tensions. Employment law is
intended to ensure protection for the employees existing rights especially in matters relating to
remuneration and can directly interfere with the attempt to transfer the struggling business with
minimal financial liabilities (Thornton, 2014). There is certainly the opportunity for the divergent
intentions to directly conflict during the insolvency related transfer.
Pragmatically, an obvious tangible asset for cost reduction in a business rescue is often jobs. TUPE
restricts the new employer s options and had been described as impinging on new owner s
discretion to make financially cogent decisions (Thornton, 2014), consequently TUPE can also
actually impact on entrepreneurial freedoms. Whilst recognising employee protection is necessary,
if the business is unable to continue then subsequently this results in loss of all jobs. Thus from an

Descriptive Essay On A Basketball Game
Score! Lee County takes another point in the volleyball tournament says the announcer. The
team starts to fall apart as we lose our game towards Lee County High School home of the Lady
Trojans. The score is 24 14 as we fall behind. While i m sitting on the bench waiting to sub in
with my other teammate I began to feel nervous. What if I mess up the game for everyone. 7 for
40 you may go. says the Ref. I start to play with my hands which is a sign of me getting nervous
about something. All the players in Lee County are very serious and aggressive, which is a good
thingjust not to the extent they are. The whistle begins to blow for the girl on the other team to
serve the ball. Right when she hits the ball I noticed the ball was heading straight towards me
Mine mine mine! I said. My arms extended out into the playing position and I passed the ball to
Nicky which is our setter. The setter on the team has a hard position because they constantly
hear us call for the setter to set us a ball to hit and they have to be able to get to the ball to receive
a second hit. Unfortunately Lee County got the winning point to this game but the next time we
play them we will have the winning point. Once we returned to the high school my mom was
waiting on me in the car. How was the game? Did you win? she asked me. The more I thought
about the game it upsetted me even more. Well we lost. I replied. The whole ride home was silent

World War I and World War II
Many people know about World War I and World War II seeing that they are a couple of the
world s most famous wars. Have you ever wondered how much you really know? This paper is
here to inform you of all of the propaganda used to persuade people to follow Hitler, the Nazi
party, and Stalin, terms that were used during this time period, and some of the very important
people involved in World War I and in World War II.
In the heat of World War I there were two groups, the Allies and the Central Powers. The Allies,
which included France, Britain and Russia, went against the Central Powers. The Russian
Revolution was also going on during this time period, which was a term that described a series of
revolutions in Russia. These series of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

beliefs and become an ideal Nazi, the children had no chance. After Hitler came to power all of
the other youth movements were abolished. By 1933 the Hitler Youth membership was up to
100,000 members and it was seen as repulsive if a child from ages 10 through 18 were not a
member.
Anti Semitism is a prejudice belief and the hatred of a certain racial group. Anti Semitism is a form
of racism. Anti Semitism members expressed their feelings towards the Jewish community in many
different ways. Most showed their hatred of the Jews and discriminated individually. Others
organized extremely violent mobs, and military attacks on entire Jewish communities.
The Allied forces of World War II included the United States, Britain and the USSR. The Allies
were the countries opposing the Axis Powers. Their goal was to stop German, Italian and Japanese
aggression. The Soviet Union joined the Allied forces after being invaded by Germany and its
Allies in 1941, the United States also joined after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor in
December of 1941. The relationship between Britain and the US were extremely close, but other
key alliances were China, Canada and India.
The Axis Powers were the nations that fought in World War II against the Allied forces. The Axis
Powers were brought together by their opposition against the Western world and the Soviet Union.

How Does Tim O Brien Use Of Conceit
The Use of Conceit In The Things They Carried, conceit is used by taking two totally unrelated
ideas or symbols and making them relate to each other. Throughout the entirety of this novel,
conceit is a way for the readers to come to appreciate each character and story in a new light. The
chapters, In the Field, and The Sweetheart of the Song Tra Bong, use this literary device to truly
paint a better picture of the over all feeling of the book. These extended metaphors help the
audience feel what the author, Tim O Brien, was feeling as he lived and wrote about his
experiences. The use of conceit in the chapters, In the Field and The Sweetheart of the Song Tra

Conceit is shown through Mary Anne s character and mindset. She could be compared to all the
soldiers in Vietnam, especially since she becomes a shell of her former self and joins the foreign
world. She was different than the other soldiers, considering that the violent atmosphere of
Vietnam didn t affect her. She seemed comfortable and entirely at home; the hostile environment
didn t seem to register. (92) Mary Anne was comfortable in the country, and the fact that a war
was going on did not affect her in the slightest way. However, this quote foreshadows what
happens to her, seeing as many soldiers would be unnerved at Vietnam, yet Mary Anne, on the
other hand, accepts her surroundings. There was no emotion in her stare, no sense of the person
behind it (105). As a result of her acceptance, Rat comments on her having ...a necklace of human
tongues (105). The end result of Mary Anne s transformation is finally shown here. It ties back to
Tim O brien s belief that the solders had, ...no sense of the person behind [their stare]. Mary Anne
lost who she was, and became a typical soldier like everyone else in the

Rap American Culture
Rap music has taken its shape over the last six decades, starting in the 60s and still modernizing
today. Over the last fifty years a new era has developed in American culture. This era is modern
rap. Rap has taken over modern culture as a popular form of music for many different age
groups. The rap industry has been booming for the past three decades. With what I have said,
this leads me to my research question. How has modern rap come to be in American culture?
Rap is actually a very old term dating back to 15th century Europe. The term rap originally meant
to strike or hit something. ( Cole Mize Studios ) However, centuries later the word began to adapt
a new meaning. By the 60s, rap began to be used in the black community as a slang word... Show

Female rappers also play a role in rap. From the early groups of Salt n Pepa to the new sensation
Iggy Iselias. These female artists just add more diversity to the genre. Rap is still diverse as
ever. With a new type of lesser known rap has begun to emerge. This style being Gospel or
Christian rap. Some of the best known Christian rap artist being Lecrae and tobyMac. (
Wikipedia ) I completely agree that these are the two main artists since they have been very
prominent for a while. Andy Mineo has become popular and many people leave him out of the
conversation. This genre of rap is so different from all other forms of rap. It is used as a way of
expressing protestant traditions. ( Wikipedia ) Christian rap has grown popular enough to get its
own categories at Christian Award shows such as, GMA Dove Awards and Stellar Awards. (
Wikipedia ) However, Christian rap does not have as diverse of an audience as the mainstream
rap audience. Christian rap typically is followed by the white church going population. So, why
exactly is learning about the history of rap important? It is important because it has become such a
large part of our modern culture. Learning more about it is necessary to further understand why it
is such a large part of our society. Some people may disapprove of what rap has come to be due to
its current negative connotation.

The Causes And Effects Of CO2 Ocean Acidification
CO2 ocean acidification has become a big problem. This problem started increasing around the
industrial revolution. Since the industrial revolution the ocean has become more acidic by 30%.
Industrial and agricultural activities have released more and more carbon dioxide into the
atmosphere. Studies show that a quarter of all carbon dioxidereleased into the atmosphere is
absorbed into the ocean. As the CO2 levels rise in the atmosphere, the CO2 levels also rise in the
ocean. The CO2 that is absorbed into the ocean changes the chemistry of the ocean making the
water more acidic. This process is called ocean acidification. [1] When the CO2 dissolves into the
water, it mixes with the water (H2O) and creates carbonic acid(H2CO3). This reaction is reversible
and it is a equilibrium. This means that this reaction is balanced and if you add something to
one side the result will come out equal to the other. For example if you added more CO2 the
reaction will produce more H2CO3. Adding more H2CO3 will make Hydrogen and bicarbonate
appear more abundantly. H2CO3 easily breaks down into HCO3 1 (Bicarbonate) and
H+(Hydrogen). Shellfish in the sea rely on calcium carbonate to form their shells. Since there is an
abundance of hydrogen in the ocean, carbonate combines with the hydrogen. Carbonate would
rather combine with hydrogen than calcium. This is why ocean acidification is causing a depletion
in the population of shellfish. [3] Scientist would not have been able to

REPORT ISAAC NEWTON Among all the scientists I have had a chance to learn about, one of
the famous is known as Isaac Newton, born in 1642 and deceased in 1742. Generally recognized
as a physicist, he is proudly known for his work in a lot of domain such as mathematics, optics
and motion which are all parts of physics. Born prematurely on Christmas day, he was fatherless
and barely three years old when his mom left him as his maternal grandmother s to get remarried
and build a second family: challenging childhood but full of promises. Ten years later his mother
Hanna, came back in Woolsthorpe, his natal town after the dead of her second husband. Despite
her long absence, Newton was still denied of his mom s attention, thus a great contribution to his
complex character. Newton s childhood was anything but happy, and throughout his life he
verged on emotional collapse, occasionally falling into violent and vindictive attacks against
friend and foe alike. After his mother returned to the town, he was forced to quit school and
become a farmer, duty that he fortunately failed to fulfill. This failure led him back to King s
school at Grantham where he prepared his entrance to Trinity College at Cambridge. The bigger
challenge was to overcome the farmer live in profit of a fructuous student life. His life therefore
changed when he left Woolsthorpe for Cambridge University. Little is known of Newton

The Historiography of the Origins of the Cold War Essay
The Historiography of the Origins of the Cold War
There have been many attempts to explain the origins of the Cold War that developed between the
capitalist West and the communist East after the Second World War. Indeed, there is great
disagreement in explaining the source for the Cold War; some explanations draw on events pre
1945; some draw only on issues of ideology; others look to economics; security concerns dominate
some arguments; personalities are seen as the root cause for some historians. So wide is the range of
the historiography of the origins of the Cold War that is has been said the Cold War has also

George Kennan, the architect of the Long Telegram, was one of the leading voices, publishing the
traditionalist viewpoint both privately in the Long Telegram of 22 February 1946, as well as
publicly in the anonymous article The Sources of Soviet Conduct in the July 1947 issue of
Foreign Affairs (McCauley 9). Soon after, most of the Western world joined Kennan in the view
that: at the bottom of the Kremlin s neurotic view of world affairs is traditional and instinctive
Russian sense of insecurity (McCauley 131). Kennan warned that, they have learned to seek
security only in patient but deadly struggle for total destruction of rival power, never in compacts
and compromises with it (McCauley 131).
Indeed, this sentiment that the Russian side had no desire to compromise was echoed by many
Western academics, including Arthur Schlesinger Jr. who wrote in the article The Origins of the
Cold War in the October 1967 Foreign Affairs:
There is no corresponding evidence on the Russian side that anyone seriously sought a modus
vivendi in these terms. Stalin s choice was whether his long term ideological and national interests
would be better served by a short run truce with the West or by an immediate resumption of
pressure. In October 1945, Stalin indicated to Harriman at Sochi that he planned to adopt the
second course... (McCauley 111).

The Bus, A Modern Panacea
Have you ever considered taking the buses, not the car, to your destination? According to his essay
The Bus, a Modern Panacea, Lester Detroit states that the VTA system offers a fundamental
solution for not only the SJSU student but includes most people who commutes to school or work.
He claims that cars have the negative side effects for the environment problems; furthermore, cars
are the problem of both traffic congestion and wasting time and money. He insists that students
should drop their car culture and create a new busculture. Bus is the cure all solution for students.
As for students, I strongly disagree with Detroit s point of view that VTA system is a suitable
transportation for students to commute. It is important for students to realize that not a lot of
people know how to transit, taking the bus is inconvenient, safety concern, and pollution.
There are buses everywhere around people, but how many of them actually know how to use
transit? In the survey report SJSU Transportation Solutions Fall 2012 Student Commute Survey
Report, the author Eyedin Zonobi points out statistics that 5.2% of students are either doesn t know
about the transit options or how to use transit. It has difficult time for students to transit when they
don t know how. For students, they need to go online and do the research, but is it wasting their
time? They no longer need to waste the time to Google map, if they have a car.

How Does Temperature Affect The Rate Of Reaction
A chemical reaction is a process that involves the movement of the molecules in a substance. All
chemical reactions involve both reactants and products. Reactants are substances that cause a
chemical reaction, and products are substances that are generated in the reaction. The reaction
rate for a reactant or product in a particular reaction is defined as how quickly or slowly a
reaction takes place. In general, the reactions between covalent compounds are slow. For example
rusting of iron. In the same way weathering of rocks takes place in millions of years. An example
of a fast reaction rateis in an explosion when the reaction has to happen quickly. In general, the
reactions between ionic compounds are fast. This reaction is also called neutralisation reaction.
Reaction rates can be altered in four ways these are; The temperature is increased, the
concentration of a dissolved reactant is increased, the pressure of a reacting gas is increased, solid
reactants are broken into smaller pieces and if a catalyst is used or added. In this investigation it
was tested if a chemical reactionwould occur faster if the surrounding temperature was hotter.
Aim
The aim of this experiment was to find out how temperature affects the rate of reaction between
Sodium thiosulfate (hypo) and hydrochloric acid.
Hypothesis It is believed that if the temperature is hotter then the reaction rate will occur faster.
This is because the heat will make the particles move faster.

The Failure Of Sighet Jews Essay
Describe the failure of Sighet Jews to anticipate Nazi terrorism. The Jews of Sighet were of
disproving failure to anticipate Nazi terrorism in reason of two factors: disbelief by doubt and
ignorant fear within themselves and their community of Hitler s extermination strategy. In Night,
the author introduces his life as a teenager and his relations with Moshe the Beadle, a shtibl who
would joyfully about the Kabbalah and its mysterious revelations and guide him into studying such
esoteric tradition, but then drone endlessly about his abhorrent experience of being imprisoned as
a deportee. Unfortunately, no matter how much he spoke of it, his words became dust as they left
his mouth and had blown in A calming, reassuring wind (Wiesel, 6). The people of Sighet bypassed
Moshe s warning signal simply by not taking him seriously, and Wiesel verifies this expression in
page 7, presuming how everyone refused to believe his tales and ...to listen, which led them in
believing that that he wanted their pity...was imagining things... and had gone mad . This doubt
provoked the inconvenience of Moshe s hopes to inform his people as a preliminary to an
impending event. Wiesel later notes about the ignorant temper that everyone, including himself,
showed towards Hitler s upcoming massacre; they felt that they were in the abstract and The
Germans...[would only] stay in Budapest...For strategic...political reasons (8). Citizens of the city

What Is The Difference Between David And Dumas
When there is two well known books and in these stories there are two men that are placed to

A Room With A View Literary Merit Essay
A Room With a View Literary Merit I as a reader enjoy reading, however I do not do it as often as
I would like. I always have trouble starting books, I would say that the first five to chapters are
the hardest to get through. I admire how with reading you are able to make your own depiction
of what s happening, instead of seeing what others envisioned. To me a great book must have
twists and turns to keep me interested. I love being able to get to know the characters, feeling as
if they are apart of your own life, being able to see them as almost a friend in your own life.
Taking their life lessons and putting them to use in your own. I like more romantici books
where they have to get over many obstacles to obtain their great love. I also enjoy reading about
a character who is able to turn their troubles around and become better than they once were. As a
little girl I was always read to; I wish that I read more on my own when I was younger. I think it
would have helped me get over the whole trouble starting a book phase. I do see myself growing
though. I praise older romantic/ coming of age books with their complexity, symbolism, and
messages, they have a certain personality that I adore reading. Finding books like these make me
enjoy reading a lot more than I did, say six years ago. Literary merit to me would be described as
the ability to read a book from the age of 15 to 90 and still enjoy it (you may change meaning with

Hydrogen Powered Vs Electric Powered Vehicles
Hydrogen Powered Versus Electric Powered Vehicles The human race is in the midst of an
energy crisis. The gasoline used around the world is currently a non renewable resource. As the
title suggests, the gasoline will eventually be totally consumed in part by the gas guzzling
vehicles common today. For this reason, scientists have spent decades researching and
developing alternative sources of fuel in order to power daily life on Earth for many years to
come. There is a wide array of renewable fuel sources in use presently. These alternatives vary in
efficiency, affordability, and many other aspects. Hydrogen powered and electric powered vehicles
are two comparable alternatives that have increased in popularity and functionality in recent years
and will continue to do so in the near future (10 Reasons, 2015).
History
Hydrogen powered vehicles initially became a reality with the invention of the first internal
combustion engine in 1806. The engine was powered by a mixture of oxygen and hydrogen
gases. This led to the first hydrogen powered car in 1908. Hydrogen powered vehicles were
further advanced in 1935 with Henry Garrett s electrolytic carburetor which allowed the cars to
run on tap water. In the 1970 s, Archie Blue created and patented a new carburetor that produced
enough H2 (hydrogen) gas to power a car motor (History of Hydrogen, n.d.). Today, most
commercial hydrogen vehicles use fuel cells to power their engines. Electric powered vehicles had

Is Seagram A Long History Of Success From The Company And...
Definition of Project: Seagram has enjoyed a long history of success from its inception in 1924
with a single distillery in Canada to a world wise company. During this timeframe, global
recognition has afforded Seagram the opportunity to grow to 14,000 employees as well as
creatively diversify in a manner than many companies could not imagine. Unique purchases of oil
companies as well as what some might argue to be more logical partnerships like fruit juices such
as Dole Food Company, Inc. created continued accomplishments that would shore up the company
and create a secure future. In addition calculated investments with DuPont, MCA Inc., which
includes Universal Studios and them parks as well as electric companies build an impressive
portfolio for Seagram as well. We know that highly diversified organizations are more successful,
firms whose business units are highly related to each other, such as in a focused company, are
outperformed by those whose business units are moderately unrelated to each other (Graham, 2012,
p.14). Although this argument makes little sense, Seagram has, for years, experienced the benefits
of being highly diversified. With the strength of diversification Seagram has created over its long
life offers a firm foundation for future growth and stability. The objective of this current project is
to evaluate the assets and design a plan that will utilize the strengths of the organization while
shoring up new systems to realign Seagram for maximum growth

An Introduction To A Vapor Cloud Explosion
An Analysis of a Vapor Cloud Explosion
Introduction
Flammable gasses can be very dangerous mostly when it comes to highly volatile products. This is
because they can evaporate at very low temperatures, may be room temperature and due to their
low energy of activation to react. Highly volatile products are that dangerous because they cannot
be seen, can evaporate any single moment regardless of the size of leakage, they spread very fast
among many other risks. This was the case at one of the manufacturing plants in Massachusetts,
Arnel chemical plant. The plant was responsible for manufacturing printer paints On November 21,

Clinicians frequently assess movement performance during a trunk rotation task to observe

Water Is Free Flowing Energy
Where do you get your best ideas? Have you had those lightning fast moments of brilliance that
come when you least expect it and fill you with excitement. The spark of creative inspiration. The
awesome solution to a problem that you have been slaving over that just pops into your mind in an

These thoughts come from my own intuitive guidance to the next step in my life. Water is free

thoughts are energy as well. I have learned a lot about energy in the past 2 1/2 years as I have

Evaluation Tools
I would perform a consumer survey to help determine what the intended popualtion knows about
prostate cancer. This survey would also be available to women to fill out, this is just one way to
help make sure that our intended population gets some of the important information on prostate
cancer. Performing a consumer survey either by using s computer or by handing them out, will
allow us to see what type of marketing needs to be done. What are the outlets that our populations
uses the most, what are we wasting our time on, how much money can we save. Another tool I
would use is the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) to help measure engagement.
After all the marketing tools have been implemented and the intended population has been reached,
I would use a surveillance system to help monitor various factors over an extended amount of time
(U.S. Department of Health and Human Services [HHS], Center for Disease Control and

After having gained all the materials needed and having the proper instruction, you can now begin
learning to throw different pitches. However, you must first know what each pitch does, what the
pitch is used to do, and how the pitch is most effective for you. The three main pitches are the
fastball, change up, and curveball. To start, the fastball is a pitch that has the most speed out of
any other pitch. While the pitch is called a fastball, there are two different types of fastballs: the
two seam and the four seam. The two seam fastball is relatively similar to the four seam, however
the two seam will move into a right handed batter and away from a left handed batter. The fastball
is used to get a strike on the batter, set the batter nup for an offspeed pitch, and often, it is used after
an offspeed pitch to disrupt the hitter s timing. Now, the curveball is often the pitch with the lowest
velocity. A curveball also has the most movement among all pitches.

Malthus s Theory Of The Demographic Transition Theory
In 1798, Thomas Robert Malthus was ahead of his time. Malthus, an English economist and
demographer, brought to life his theory on how an over populated planet would not be able to
provide for those who reside on it (Macionis, 2013 p .635). Although Malthus was an economic
pessimist, he brought to light a very real truth. Now, 218 years later, Malthus s theory has in some
way become a reality. Although rich nations have slowed in regards to reproduction, poor nations
continue to have high birth rates which put a strain on the global aspects of the environment. As
our planet now holds over 7 billion people (US Census Bureau, 2016), scientists, economists, and
environmentalist s struggle to find a solution to our growing problem. One theory that explains this
populationchange is the demographic transition theory. This theory, defined as a thesis that links
population patterns to a society s level of technological development (Macionis, 2013 p. 636),
suggests that the key to population control lies in technology. Demographic transition theory is a
general description of the mortality, fertility and growth rates as societies move from one transition
to another. There are 4 main stages of the demographic transition theory. Stage 1 includes
preindustrial and agrarian societies in which high birth rates and high death rates were common
(Macionis, 2013 p. 637). With there being no form of birth control, children become an economic
value in the fields as workers. Death is

British Colonialism And The Impact Of British Imperialism...
British imperialism affected Trinidad in a negative way. When the British took over Trinidad,
slavery began. When slavery was brought to Trinidad, it caused the people of Trinidad to become
depressed along with the rest of the world. When the British decided to join the colonies Trinidad
and Tobago, Trinidad s sugar economy started to collapse. With the collapse of the economy and
commodity prices rising, workers started to riot in Trinidad. Together these made the people and
the colony of Trinidad difficult to work and live.
While researching these topics, I used history articles and nonfiction books. I used these because
they gave me the most useful information for my topics. They helped me have a better
understanding of how the British and how imperialism affected Trinidad and it s people. Having
the right and the best information will make for a better paper.
Imperialism is a type of government that seeks to increase its size, either by forcing (through war)
or influencing (through politics) other countries to submit to their rule. While researching about
imperialism, I found that many articles explained how imperialism affected this colony in a way
that I understand it.
Slavery in Trinidad is the first reason to why imperialism in Trinidad was negative. For example,
Between 1518 and 1870, the transatlantic slave trade supplied the greatest proportion of the
Caribbean population (Countrystudies.us). This explains that Trinidad s slave trade was so bad,
that the development of their colony was ten times harder. The slavery that the British began in
Trinidad, became a major cause for how bad Trinidad s development would be. Another example
of how slavery affected Trinidad, Even after the end of slavery and apprenticeship the Caribbean
was not totally free. Former enslaved people received no compensation and had limited
representation in the legislature s (Nationalarchives.gov.uk). Even though the slaves did not have
to work anymore, their lives in Trinidad still were not the best that they could have been. The
slave trade was a big part of why the people of Trinidad suffered from depression that was
happening all over the world.
Depression in Trinidad was the second factor that contributed to how negative

Mattel and Ttoy Recalls
The Mattel and the Toy Recalls integrative case poses six questions (four from the case and two
from the professor) which will be addressed in this analysis.
1.What went wrong with Mattel s recall strategy?
The strategy used by Mattel in the toy recall was focused on passing the blame to China s work
practices and materials used. Mattel prematurely placed disproportionate blame on Chinese
manufacturers and appeared defensive and somewhat fearful. In addition, the toy manufacture
delayed reporting to the CPSC by a month and a half after they found out that the toys contained
lead paint, even though the CPSC guidelines state that a re call should be issued in 24 hours.
2.Who are Mattel s stakeholders, who did Mattel cater to in the ... Show more content on

Given the circumstances Mattel did what it had to do from the standpoint of communication to
reduce the reputational damage and keep the stock price afloat.
Regaining consumer confidence and controlling the dissemination of product safety information
requires strong corporate communicators who can deliberately balance supplier, customer,
governmental, media, and investor relationships.
4.What should Mattel do know and in the future?
First and foremost Mattel should improve two way, interpersonal communication with two key
customers: parents and the retailers. Corporate communication campaigns should increase
interaction with consumers online via message boards and social media. Retailers have the most
face to face contact with consumers. Mattel should equip them to answer consumer questions
comprehensively and accurately.
In the future Mattel should aim to anticipate future crises by scanning domestic and international
consumer watch groups, industry websites and work even closer with CPSC. The understanding of
domestic and international markets is crucial in being ready to prevent any safety related issues that
are on the horizon. Mattel should strive to ensure that each country receives products held to the
same safety standards as the US. Sub standard products should not be dumped on developing
markets. The one miss for a lot of international companies is the lack of understanding cultural

My Reflection Of Nature
The main way the readings, reflections, and discussions with classmates has contributed to my
understanding of how to incorporate nature is the variety of perceptions. I really enjoyed how
every individual in the class had their own take on an issue and a way to connect it to nature. For
example, there were at least three people who decided to focus on the issue of loss and grief for
the assignment that was shared over the camping trip. Even though the topic was discussed by three
people, each person used a different part of nature to depict their unique metaphor. Another way
completing the classwork with peers has contributed to my understanding of how to incorporate
nature is that the information from peers has displayed to me incorporating nature does not need to

Since the beginning of the semester, I was worried about how I would incorporate nature into

of Bueno Aires and Montevideo. The tango is a danceinfluenced by a blend of African and
European culture. Many claim that African slaves who had been brought to Argentina started to
influence Argentinian culture. African slaves and free blacks would come... Show more content on

This is a far cry from the humble beginnings of tango, which evolved as a cultural movement
among people from lower economic backgrounds. Now, tangos are performed in dance studios,
night clubs, ballroom events, and at festivals. Additionally, the clip markets the tango as a sexual,
sensual dance which therefore translates to international appeal to global markets regardless of
whatever song is being played. Tango s biggest global commercial asset is the ability to invigorate
the dancer into a sensually charged dance with their partner while following the rhythm and abrupt
pauses from the piano.
Tango s cultural mobility is evident as it was first performed salons and quickly spread to bars,
brothels, and dance halls. A landmark evidence of tango s cultural mobility is that it begun as a
blend of a variety of dances from many distinct cultures. Pairing African rhythms with the
Argentine Milonga, a fast paced polka dance, heavily influenced tango. New steps were created
and a new form of dance was created that quickly spread across other cultures in the world.
Tango began as a dance for the poor, but quickly became a symbol of Argentine pride and it
spread from city to city then to Uruguay and eventually the rest of the world. Tango emerged in
Spain in the late 1800s, then in Paris in 1907, and then in London in 1912 with every instance

Noonan Syndrome Is Agenetic Birth Defect That Results In
Noonan syndrome is a genetic birth defect that results in many physical deformities and possible
developmental handicaps. Noonan Syndrome affects male children while Turner Syndrome affects
females. This paper will focus solely on Noonan Syndrome, which affects 1 in approximately 2,000
people. Complications include but are not limited to: short stature, widely spaced eyes, some form
of heart disease, and stunted puberty or infertility. Noonan syndrome is a biochemical disorder that
occurs before a person is born and is formed through the genetic makeup of the parents that result in
that of their offspring.
The purpose of this paper is to discuss the effects of the disorder and how genetics and biochemistry
work together to create this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These causes specifically are completely biochemical, occurring within the chemical processes that
develop the fetus. A single genedefect goes hand in hand with inheritance. All genes are inherited
therefore so are bad genes; a single gene defect is that, a gene for a disease is inherited and
manifests as a birth defect. Then, there s chromosomal abnormalities. Chromosomes are those
structures within our cells that contain genes. If an abnormality occurs (such as a replacement, of
one piece of the gene for another) this will also results in a birth defect within the fetus.
Noonan Syndrome is the result of a chromosomal abnormality. This specific type of abnormality
can only be detected by deep molecular testing of the parents and the offspring who has been
affected by Noonan syndrome. Detection then becomes a tricky process as the signs and
symptoms of the defect can be misdiagnosed as their individual appearances. A short stature can
be seen as just a physical abnormality, the same for eye spacing and other physically noticeable
attributes. The heart diseases can be seen as completely separate problems as well. For this reason
cases of Noonan syndrome can persist into a person s adult life completely undiagnosed. Detection
therefore relies on the parents being genetically tested before ever conceiving.
Noonan syndrome through inheritance is of an autosomal dominant pattern. That

Safe Driving Advertising Persuasion Techniques
Safe Driving Advertisement/Persuasion Techniques
The Frontier Post advertisement with the keys shaped as a gun is more pointed towards Logos
and Ethos being its modes of persuasion. In this advertisement, logos is present because there are
texts within the ad that is factual. The text states Takes one life every 25 seconds and Drive Safe .
Then we have ethos, ethos is present because the keys are positioned in the shape of a gun. This
ad is more than likely hinting that every time you get in a vehicle it can be just as dangerous as a
loaded gun. Now for pathos, pathos isn t present because there is no celebrity present. There is also
no one to show knowledge of the subject at hand. Along with this information, there is no known

The Causes And Effects Of Climate Change In Sustainable...
Climate change has been occurring for thousands of years whether naturally or due to human
activity.
According to (May 2017)
Climate change is a change in the usual weather found in a place. This could be a change in how
much rain a place usually gets in a year. Or it could be a change in a place s usual temperature for
a month or season. Climate change is also a change in Earth s climate. This could be a change in
Earth s usual temperature. Or it could be a change in where rain and snow usually fall on Earth.
Initially, climate change was due to natural occurrences however nowadays due to the excessive
amounts of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gasses being released into the atmosphere as a
result of this human action the global surface temperature is rising drastically which in turn is
causing climate change at an alarming rate. Due to the industrial revolution of the 19th century
there was a drastic change from human labour to machinery and this resulted in the excessive
burning of fossil fuels.
Climate change is the most prevalent challenge in achieving sustainable development. The
evidence for rapid climate change is compelling, not only is it having effects on the natural
environment for example causing rising sea levels as research shows that Global sea level rose
about 8 inches in the last century (Shaftel 2017) , rising temperatures on land and sea, more
droughts and floods and effecting the balance of nature, it is also having destructive effects on
human

  • 2. Aristotle s Claim That The Highest Form Of Life EXPLAIN AND CRITICALLY EXAMINE ARISTOTLE S CLAIM THAT THE HIGHEST FORM OF LIFE IS ONE DEDICATED TO THOUGHT AND CONTEMPLATION Introduction: This essay is aimed at reviewing Aristotle s philosophical claim that thought and contemplation is the highest form of life, with a view to explaining the veracity of his theory. Aristotle, like many other philosophers wrote extensively on a variety of issues. His deep rooted conviction for a society based on such theoretical foundation of thought, contemplation, reason and logic, made him explore the perimeters of knowledge to advance the society on the foundation of knowledge. Most of Aristotle s life was dedicated to the search for knowledge. Contemplation naturally brings about knowledge, which is the base of discovery. For Aristotle, the life of unbroken contemplation is something divine. It is the ultimate intellectual virtue, and it is the highest form of human activity. Like Plato s postulation of the philosopher king or king philosopher as the ruler of society, Aristotle s theory of thought and contemplation places premium on education, wisdom and knowledge as basis for happiness, fulfilment and harmony. Socrates personally demonstrated this by staying in isolation at some point to have the luxury of undisturbed thoughts, contemplation and meditation. The ancient, medieval and modern philosophers gave a lot of time to this highest form of life, and this explains the potency behind their prolific writings which has stood the ... This essay will first discuss the effects of globalization on the international system. Secondly, the essay will examine realism and how this theory explains globalization. Lastly, this essay will discuss how realism is a tool that effectively explains the issue of globalization. Globalization Globalization is a system to exercise and distribute power; it s a winner and loser system. Levels of globalization vary as well how a country benefits from the system. The process of globalization is mostly seen in terms of economic globalization; however, there are other aspects of it that impacts international security and the meaning of power. There are three dimensions to economic globalization: globalization of labor, globalization of production, and the globalization of finance. Globalization of labor is the integration of national labor markets due to the increase of mobility (Kegley, 244). Globalization of production refers to how multiple countries produced different parts to complete the product. Corporations have supply chains in different countries. Both labor and production globalization cause goods to be produced by people working in different parts of the world instead of it being produced locally by the locals (Kegley, 2014). If there were no worms on earth, farms and many plants could not be properly maintained. This paper will explain how important earthworms are to the earth and to our environment. In addition, this paper will cover the origin of an earthworm, the anatomy and other important characteristics. Origin The origin of earthworms were said to be on earth around 200 millions ago. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Earthworms slowly bring soil to the surface and cover objects on the ground. This is one reason why archaeologists have to dig down underneath the ground to find fossils. Night crawlers burrows can go as far as 15 feet underground. Night crawlers have something that no other animal has. They have five pairs of hearts. The hearts pump blood with the earthworm s muscular contractions. Only two main blood vessels make up the earthworms body. The ventral blood vessel sends blood to the rear end of the worm. The dorsal vessels pumps blood to the front end of the body and blood travels through the ventral vessels into the capillaries on the body wall and the many other organs. Anatomy The body of the earthworms is considered slimy and weird. Earthworm s body contains 80% water and 70% protein. Fat makes up anywhere from 1 to 17 percent. The body divided into 100 segments. These segments contain a pair of metanephridia, which drain the adjacent anterior segments. The bristles help the earthworm hold its ground when trying to be pulled from its burrow. For instance, a bird pulls off 6 to 7 segments; therefore new segments will grow back. Earthworms are invertebrates, which mean they have no backbone. The mucus on the body helps the worm travel through their burrow smoothly. As the earthworm travels underground the mucus holds the dirt from collapsing on the worm. • 8. The Insolvency And Employment Law The sale or transfer of an insolvent undertaking creates an interaction between differing bodies of law. The main statutes are the insolvency and employment law, principally although not exclusively encapsulated by TUPE (TUPE, 2006). The interaction between these laws is of particular interest to this study. Insolvencylegislation is focussed upon the rescue of the company and employment legislation is concerned with employee protection. The interaction between the afore mentioned legislation is inevitable, with the potential for employment protection and business rescue to be characterised by tensions. Employment law is intended to ensure protection for the employees existing rights especially in matters relating to remuneration and can directly interfere with the attempt to transfer the struggling business with minimal financial liabilities (Thornton, 2014). There is certainly the opportunity for the divergent intentions to directly conflict during the insolvency related transfer. Pragmatically, an obvious tangible asset for cost reduction in a business rescue is often jobs. TUPE restricts the new employer s options and had been described as impinging on new owner s discretion to make financially cogent decisions (Thornton, 2014), consequently TUPE can also actually impact on entrepreneurial freedoms. Whilst recognising employee protection is necessary, if the business is unable to continue then subsequently this results in loss of all jobs. Thus from an external ... • 15. The Causes And Effects Of CO2 Ocean Acidification CO2 ocean acidification has become a big problem. This problem started increasing around the industrial revolution. Since the industrial revolution the ocean has become more acidic by 30%. Industrial and agricultural activities have released more and more carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. Studies show that a quarter of all carbon dioxidereleased into the atmosphere is absorbed into the ocean. As the CO2 levels rise in the atmosphere, the CO2 levels also rise in the ocean. The CO2 that is absorbed into the ocean changes the chemistry of the ocean making the water more acidic. This process is called ocean acidification. [1] When the CO2 dissolves into the water, it mixes with the water (H2O) and creates carbonic acid(H2CO3). This reaction is reversible and it is a equilibrium. This means that this reaction is balanced and if you add something to one side the result will come out equal to the other. For example if you added more CO2 the reaction will produce more H2CO3. Adding more H2CO3 will make Hydrogen and bicarbonate appear more abundantly. H2CO3 easily breaks down into HCO3 1 (Bicarbonate) and H+(Hydrogen). Shellfish in the sea rely on calcium carbonate to form their shells. Since there is an abundance of hydrogen in the ocean, carbonate combines with the hydrogen. Carbonate would rather combine with hydrogen than calcium. This is why ocean acidification is causing a depletion in the population of shellfish. [3] Scientist would not have been able to ... Generally recognized as a physicist, he is proudly known for his work in a lot of domain such as mathematics, optics and motion which are all parts of physics. Born prematurely on Christmas day, he was fatherless and barely three years old when his mom left him as his maternal grandmother s to get remarried and build a second family: challenging childhood but full of promises. Ten years later his mother Hanna, came back in Woolsthorpe, his natal town after the dead of her second husband. Despite her long absence, Newton was still denied of his mom s attention, thus a great contribution to his complex character. Newton s childhood was anything but happy, and throughout his life he verged on emotional collapse, occasionally falling into violent and vindictive attacks against friend and foe alike. After his mother returned to the town, he was forced to quit school and become a farmer, duty that he fortunately failed to fulfill. This failure led him back to King s school at Grantham where he prepared his entrance to Trinity College at Cambridge. The bigger challenge was to overcome the farmer live in profit of a fructuous student life. His life therefore changed when he left Woolsthorpe for Cambridge University. Little is known of Newton ... • 22. How Does Temperature Affect The Rate Of Reaction A chemical reaction is a process that involves the movement of the molecules in a substance. All chemical reactions involve both reactants and products. Reactants are substances that cause a chemical reaction, and products are substances that are generated in the reaction. The reaction rate for a reactant or product in a particular reaction is defined as how quickly or slowly a reaction takes place. In general, the reactions between covalent compounds are slow. For example rusting of iron. In the same way weathering of rocks takes place in millions of years. An example of a fast reaction rateis in an explosion when the reaction has to happen quickly. In general, the reactions between ionic compounds are fast. This reaction is also called neutralisation reaction. Reaction rates can be altered in four ways these are; The temperature is increased, the concentration of a dissolved reactant is increased, the pressure of a reacting gas is increased, solid reactants are broken into smaller pieces and if a catalyst is used or added. In this investigation it was tested if a chemical reactionwould occur faster if the surrounding temperature was hotter. Aim The aim of this experiment was to find out how temperature affects the rate of reaction between Sodium thiosulfate (hypo) and hydrochloric acid. • 25. A Room With A View Literary Merit Essay A Room With a View Literary Merit I as a reader enjoy reading, however I do not do it as often as I would like. I always have trouble starting books, I would say that the first five to chapters are the hardest to get through. I admire how with reading you are able to make your own depiction of what s happening, instead of seeing what others envisioned. To me a great book must have twists and turns to keep me interested. I love being able to get to know the characters, feeling as if they are apart of your own life, being able to see them as almost a friend in your own life. Taking their life lessons and putting them to use in your own. I like more romantici books where they have to get over many obstacles to obtain their great love. I also enjoy reading about a character who is able to turn their troubles around and become better than they once were. As a little girl I was always read to; I wish that I read more on my own when I was younger. I think it would have helped me get over the whole trouble starting a book phase. I do see myself growing though. I praise older romantic/ coming of age books with their complexity, symbolism, and messages, they have a certain personality that I adore reading. Finding books like these make me enjoy reading a lot more than I did, say six years ago. Literary merit to me would be described as the ability to read a book from the age of 15 to 90 and still enjoy it (you may change meaning with in those years or look at it in a different ... The gasoline used around the world is currently a non renewable resource. As the title suggests, the gasoline will eventually be totally consumed in part by the gas guzzling vehicles common today. For this reason, scientists have spent decades researching and developing alternative sources of fuel in order to power daily life on Earth for many years to come. There is a wide array of renewable fuel sources in use presently. These alternatives vary in efficiency, affordability, and many other aspects. Hydrogen powered and electric powered vehicles are two comparable alternatives that have increased in popularity and functionality in recent years and will continue to do so in the near future (10 Reasons, 2015). History Hydrogen powered vehicles initially became a reality with the invention of the first internal combustion engine in 1806. The engine was powered by a mixture of oxygen and hydrogen gases. This led to the first hydrogen powered car in 1908. Hydrogen powered vehicles were further advanced in 1935 with Henry Garrett s electrolytic carburetor which allowed the cars to run on tap water. In the 1970 s, Archie Blue created and patented a new carburetor that produced enough H2 (hydrogen) gas to power a car motor (History of Hydrogen, n.d.). Today, most commercial hydrogen vehicles use fuel cells to power their engines. Electric powered vehicles had a slightly later ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 27. Is Seagram A Long History Of Success From The Company And... Definition of Project: Seagram has enjoyed a long history of success from its inception in 1924 with a single distillery in Canada to a world wise company. During this timeframe, global recognition has afforded Seagram the opportunity to grow to 14,000 employees as well as creatively diversify in a manner than many companies could not imagine. Unique purchases of oil companies as well as what some might argue to be more logical partnerships like fruit juices such as Dole Food Company, Inc. created continued accomplishments that would shore up the company and create a secure future. In addition calculated investments with DuPont, MCA Inc., which includes Universal Studios and them parks as well as electric companies build an impressive portfolio for Seagram as well. We know that highly diversified organizations are more successful, firms whose business units are highly related to each other, such as in a focused company, are outperformed by those whose business units are moderately unrelated to each other (Graham, 2012, p.14). Although this argument makes little sense, Seagram has, for years, experienced the benefits of being highly diversified. With the strength of diversification Seagram has created over its long life offers a firm foundation for future growth and stability. The objective of this current project is to evaluate the assets and design a plan that will utilize the strengths of the organization while shoring up new systems to realign Seagram for maximum growth ... The two seam fastball is relatively similar to the four seam, however the two seam will move into a right handed batter and away from a left handed batter. Although Malthus was an economic pessimist, he brought to light a very real truth. Now, 218 years later, Malthus s theory has in some way become a reality. Having the right and the best information will make for a better paper. Imperialism is a type of government that seeks to increase its size, either by forcing (through war) or influencing (through politics) other countries to submit to their rule. While researching about imperialism, I found that many articles explained how imperialism affected this colony in a way that I understand it. Slavery in Trinidad is the first reason to why imperialism in Trinidad was negative. For example, Between 1518 and 1870, the transatlantic slave trade supplied the greatest proportion of the Caribbean population (Countrystudies.us). This explains that Trinidad s slave trade was so bad, that the development of their colony was ten times harder. The slavery that the British began in Trinidad, became a major cause for how bad Trinidad s development would be. Another example of how slavery affected Trinidad, Even after the end of slavery and apprenticeship the Caribbean was not totally free. Former enslaved people received no compensation and had limited representation in the legislature s (Nationalarchives.gov.uk). Even though the slaves did not have to work anymore, their lives in Trinidad still were not the best that they could have been. Corporate communication campaigns should increase interaction with consumers online via message boards and social media. Retailers have the most face to face contact with consumers. Mattel should equip them to answer consumer questions comprehensively and accurately.
