Despicable Me Research Paper
Bananas. The one item every minion wants. These adorable, yellow, Tic Tac like creatures depicted in
the hit movies Despicable Me, Despicable Me 2, and Minions work hard and don t expect much in
return.Their work ethic has received praise from esteemed figures such as Barack Obama, who says
that minions stand for every ideal that America was built on (Kevin 53). The problem is that minions
only work for villains with nefarious plans of taking over the world. In American society, studies
found that 99% of the people feel like henchmen to the biggest companies in all sectors of society,
from Walmart to Wall Street (Bob 17). The relationship between the minions and villains bears many
similarities to the modern economic and political system of America. The Despicable Me movie
franchise is a comprehensive representation of capitalism in America. In the Despicable Me movies,
there are many more minions than villains; however, the minions have significantly less power. This
represents how the richest CEOs of America are greatly outnumbered by the general population, yet
still have overarching control of America, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Most of these successful people either had good luck or inherited it through the generations. The
passage also mentions how the villains are the ones with the ideas and influence to change the world,
not so much the minions. The richest in American society have much more influence on what occurs
than the working class due to their connections, lobbying, and other factors. Of course the minions
have some power, they are not slaves, but it is harder for them to make a change individually than it is
for someone like Gru, a man in the movies whose antics included trying to steal the moon.
Consequently, both minions and people not part of the 1% feel frustrated and

What did you enjoy most about the internship program? Was there anything you d like to see changed
or done differently?
I really enjoyed the meetings that we had together. It was awesome to get to meet some of the other
interns in the program and I found the meetings to be very informative. It was great to hear about the
core values of the chaplain program and then be able to reflect on things we learned with assignments.
It was all very practical and useful in preparing to potentially become a chaplain.
How has the chaplain internship helped you see the heart behind the chaplain program?

So team leadership is important because the other leaders around you are a valuable resource to help
you be the best leader you can be. All the roles have equal importance and all are highly valued and

only be confined to serving in that capacity. It s okay to overlap a bit and help one another lead well.
One of the quotes that was talked about said: We can function to the maximum only as we become a
whole person with spirit, mind, and body working harmoniously together. When discussing this with
my group we came to the conclusion that we need to pursue health and make sure we are taking care
of all three aspects of our lives. If one part suffers there are implications in all areas of life. The health
of all three is vital to success in becoming whole and leading with your whole self. To be able to give

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Integration
Generally, the disparity implies inconsistency of the development potentials or rates of certain system
components. Uneven socio economic development in turn is seen as an objective basis for the
emergence of various kinds of imbalances. Moreover, failures and weaknesses of the economic policy,
of the strategy and of the reform process also can be identified as its subjective factors. Studies of the
inter regional differences dynamics are based on the growth models, including the various factors such
as the human capital development, the production structure, migration specifics, investment, terms of
trade, and political stability. Among the set of factors, particular place is given to those that are

The problem of imbalances comes to the fore, since weaker in the economic context States remains

prerequisite for so called Grexit discussion, considering that a way out of the EU and as a
consequence the return of the drachma would enable Greece to return the monetary policy mechanism

difficulty in locally providing the finding sources to finance the growth programmers needed to reduce
the gap between the most and the least favored areas in the EU. Under such circumstances, the
elimination of imbalances is an objective necessity the economy and society, one of the laws of any

It is normally produced by both the adrenal glands and certain neurons. It is commonly used as a
medicine in a number of conditions such as cardiac arrest, anaphylaxis, and superficial bleeding. It
plays an important role in the fight or flight response by increasing blood flow to muscles, output of
the heart, pupil dilation, and blood sugar. The fight or flight response is a physiological reaction that
occurs in response to a perceived harmful event, attack, or threat to survival. In a stressful situation
you feel your heart start racing and your hands start to sweat. This triggers the fight or flight response
which opens up the adrenal medulla gland in response to your nervous system. Epinephrine is then
released into your system to prepare you for danger. It triggers the blood vessels to contract to re direct
blood toward major muscle groups, including the heart and lungs. While this process occurs the ability
for ones body to feel pain decreases and strength and performance increases. Which is why some

professions. I have decided to choose Nursing and Social Work because I am currently training to be a
nurse and I would like to see the difference between Nursing and Social Work education, training and
codes of conduct as this is a field I don t know much about.

Continuing Professional Development
Both these professions expect the same high standards when it comes to education and training.
Nursing and Social Work both have requirements for continued professional development and lifelong
learning. It is essential that Nurses and Social workers keep a record of their training throughout their
careers.
To be able to remain working and practicing as a nurse or a midwife you must keep your skills and
knowledge up to date through lifelong learning. This requires that nurses complete 450 hours of
registered practice along with 35 hours of learning activities every three years along with the annual
fee of £100. Medicines, treatments and equipment are continuously changing so it s important that
nurses keep up to date to ensure that patients are getting the best available care. You must take part in
appropriate learning and practice activities that maintain and develop you competence and
performance (NMC, 2008 p6).
Social Worker s must undertake relevant training to maintain and improve your knowledge and skills
and contributing to the learning and development of others (SSSC, 2009 section 6.8). The requirement
of continued learning is fifteen days which can consist of courses, reading

Argumentative Essay On Freedom Of Religion
As we have established, freedom of religion is protected by the first amendment. This amendment is
divided between two clauses, the Establishment clause, and the Free exercise clause. While the latter
allows individuals to exercise freely their religious beliefs, the former prevents the government to
impose a federal religion and prevents coercion upon a religious belief. Even though these protections
exist in reality they are easily overcome by compelling government interest . The first amendment
hasn t been very efficient when facing claims of Native Americans, unsurprisingly this is fully in line
with the prior decisions concerning their rights. A problem arises linked with the scope of the freedom
of religion clause. As we know it protects religions, the question is then what is considered as a
religion for it to be protected by the first amendment? As we have said previously, the courts have a
tendency to adopt a Judeo Christian point of view when determining whether a religion is protected by
the first amendment. The question is whether the place given to sacred sites in the Native American
beliefs will rather be understood as a cultural use. Since courts don t protect these lands it seems that
they don t consider it as part of a religious belief, but rather as part of a cultural use, offering monetary
damages instead of protecting it, as in US v Sioux Nation of Indians. A reason that may explain the
position adopted by the courts may be that Indian beliefs seem to

Fast cars, taking drugs, listening to loud music, and going to parties were many activities that

The Evolution Of Respiratory Systems
As the years have passed animals have evolved from very simple animals to more advanced animals.
Their individual respiratory systems have developed depending on their habitat. Even though the
Orcinus lives in water and the Trochilidae lives on land their respiratory systems are worth observing,
as we can see how specific organisms can develop different ways in which their respiratory systems
evolved. By looking at the way they have evolved from past ancestors and how they are respectively
similar. Looking forward into the way these to species have evolved we can create a deeper
understanding of the respiratory system and how it has changed throughout the years. This paper will

Character Analysis of Bartleby, the Scrivener
In Herman Melville s Bartleby the Scrivener , a story of the strangest law copyist the narrator, a
lawyer, has ever employed is told. The narrator experiences conflict with Bartleby when he prefers not
to examine some law papers. Once Bartleby prefers not to once, he continues to repeat the statement
on all request asked of him. This statement sends Bartleby into a state of tranquility, staying isolated in
the cubical and refusing all assistance by any means. This state results in him going to jail, and
eventually dying. This passive resistance Bartleby exhibits traps him physically and psychologically
by surrounding him with walls the narrator symbolically describes numerous times. The idea of
transcendentalism arises from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I think the idea from transcendentalism that there is no form of superior intelligence is the reason as to
why Bartleby prefers not to (6) in all forms of requests. This is the moment in the story where
Bartleby assumes the position of a transcendentalist. This point is where he breaks free of societal
duties and refuses all help from the narrator, denying money and shelter from him. Although critiques
such as Walter E. Anderson argue that Bartleby s isolation shows Christian moral reading is the correct
context to assume, I disagree. There are allusions to biblical texts such as the narrator referring to
himself and Bartleby as sons of Adam (11). But I think Bartleby is isolated to show how he is alone
from everyone, living in a cubical, and being surrounded by walls. Although Christianity gives
feelings of isolation with God, Bartleby is isolated with his spiritual self, saying he would prefer to
make no change at all (21). Bartleby determines his fate by questioning himself and his societal roles.
He does not look to Christ in any form, not believing in a higher intellectual form. Instead he finds
serenity in his civil disobedience.
Another form of symbolism important to Bartleby s isolation is the imagery of walls . The story s
setting is on Wall Street and at the office the men work at look upon a white wall (1) and have an
unobstructed view of a lofty brick wall (2). The walls represent society s blocks on Bartleby and his
progress in society.

Hermaphrodite Fern Experiment
Discussion: Statistical analysis of the experiment shows that the data of the ANOVA single variable
test comparing the means for percentages of male gametophyte density, where no outliers were
present, yielded a p value of 0.00861, which is a p value 0.05, which suggests a possible relationship
between spore density and male sex determination. Therefore, the means can be described as being
significantly different, meaning that we can fail to reject the hypothesis that, if spore density is
elevated, environmental resources will be limited among spores, promoting the development of male
or hermaphrodite ferns with increased levels of ACE, due to their higher self sufficiency, in
comparison to female ferns. However, within this experimental ... Show more content on

ferns). This process of pheromonal regulation of reproductive traits protects ferns from the harmful
effects of inbreeding, which would reduce genetic variation within the species and create
vulnerabilities within a population. This would lead to a reduction in their numbers, as it has been
studied that the sexual phenotype of gametophytes is heavily influenced by its social environment
(Atallah Banks, 2015). As discussed earlier, disparities between male and female gametophytes
regarding environmental resources, which can be limited with increased spore densities, is critical in
determining sex, which was shown through experimentation conducted by scientists Granger and
Sturey, when studying the effect of antheridiogen concentration and spore size on gametophytes size
in C. ferns. Their experimental results suggest the notion that gender could be directly influenced by
the effect of antheridiogen and gametophyte growth under set environmental conditions, as well as if
predisposed genetic mutations, which could alter the ACE s effect within a population, are taken into
account. Their evidence also suggests that gender can be indirectly altered concerning other
unaccounted for developmental factors, such as the rate at which gametophyte growth occurred, but
more research is required on this matter (Granger Sturey,

not human. Flight is freedom. When a character has the ability to fly they are free from the burdens of
everyday life. Connections: The Landscape with the Fall of Icarus: By giving Icarus the ability to fly,
he has a freedom unfathomed by most. This freedom is too much for someone to handle and he does
even what he is told not to, by flying close to the sun. Sophie s World by Jostein Gaarder: In one of
Alberto s letters to Sophie he talked about flying. A small experiment shows Sophie the difference
between the ideas of a child and a grown adult, and how something like flying can get such a different
reaction from the two. One morning, Mom, Dad and little Thomas, aged two or three, are having
breakfast in the kitchen. After a while Mom gets up and goes over to the kitchen sink, and Dad yes,
Dad flies up and floats around under the ceiling while Thomas sits watching. What do you think?
Thomas says. Perhaps he points up at his father and says: Daddy s flying! Thomas will certainly be
astonished, but then he very often is. Dad does so many strange things that this business of a little
flight over the breakfast table makes no difference to him. Now it s Mom s turn. She hears what

The Hazards of Space Travel for the Human Body
In the year 2042, aerospace engineers continue to struggle with the challenge of a manned mission to
mars. Biomedical complications disrupt any advancements in the effort, as astronaut safety is
considered the most fundamental aspect of a successful mission. In order to study the effects of
weightlessness and radiation in a deep space environment, NASA launches a government funded
space station into high earth orbit. The astronaut s medical health is studied over a six month period,
as their bodies adapt to the low gravity environment and radiation becomes a crucial concern.

As an organism in a hostile environment, precautions must be made.
An astronaut must maintain peak physical health to ideally preform and adapt to a space environment.
In order to minimize the extent of medical concerns, strict medical standards are established to
guarantee the correct crew for the mission. Designed by surgeons and experts in aerospace medicine,
the regulations mirrored those of the U.S Air force. Extensive consideration is taken in the categories
of blood pressure, radiation exposure, hearing, dental health, and precise body composition. Annual
medical certification examinations are conducted by flight medicine physicians. These exams insure
that the crew is not only fit for space flight, but also for training. Crew members are given a
supporting exam at launch, as well as two days after landing (Risin). The information found in these
last minute exams is used to analyze the effects of space travel on the astronauts.
Only 7 missions in American history included biomedical objectives as a goal amongst each
operations highest priorities. As of May 1961 to May 1963, Project Mercury was conducted to assess
the ability for man to survive in an environment outside of earth. The endeavor completed four orbital
missions and two sub orbital flights, the longest of which lasted 34 hours. Although the returning

The Conspiracies Associated With The Reason Why The Usa...
The conspiracies associated with the reason why the USA joined the Vietnam War led to massive
resistance against the draft in the early 1970 s. In response to being picked in the draft, many
Americans fled to Canada because American citizens believed that the federal government had selfish
and unreasonable intentions in joining the war in Vietnam, which was to destroy the spread of
communism. The intentions of the federal government when joining the Vietnam War relates to The
Things They Carried by Tim O Brien because Tim O Brien also considered dodging the draft and
immigrating to Canada but as a consequence of social pressure, the guilt he felt resulted in the change
of his mindset. While On the Rainy River condemns the idea of heroism because it applies oppressive
pressure on soldiers, The Ghost Soldiers celebrates the idea of heroism because it allows one to enter
dangerous situations with great fortitude in order to save others lives.
In the beginning of On The Rainy River, O Brien condemns the idea of heroism because he feels that
it is unfair that he is forced to fight in Vietnam when he doesn t find the true purpose of the war. O
Brien is flabbergasted when he receives news of his nomination from the draft to fight in Vietnam: I
was too good for this war. Too smart, too compassionate, too everything (39). When O Brien claims to
be too good, too smart, too compassionate, he emphasizes the inherent unfairness of the draft process.

Cons Of The Millennial Generation
Millennials are conceivably the most intriguing generation yet. Millennials also known as Generation
Y are described by Bannon Shele as more technologically savvy, better educated, and more ethnically
diverse than generation preceding them (Shele et al.61). Although this may be true, many would
describe the millennial generation as lazy, entitled, and selfish. Many people believe this because
millennials coresidence with their parents until their mid 20 s and in some cases even longer.
Supporters of this assertion state millennials are living at home because they are too lazy to find
sustainable work and too incompetent to save their money in order to afford a home of their own.
However, these claims are just burned out stereotypes of the millennial generation. Millennials are

Comparing Agamemnon s Quarrel, Oath, And Promise
The things that interested me the most in the book 1 titled, Quarrel, Oath, and Promise is when
Agamemnon, defends the girl, he loves. For example, yes, if you like, I rate her higher than
klytaimnestra, my own wife! She loses nothing by comparison in beauty or womanhood, in mind or
skill (9). He says how much he loves her by saying their is no comparison that she loses, she is smart
and pretty, in mind and smart by abilities. The other interesting part is when Agamemnon, prepares
others for the war, and reveals his gift. You must prepare, however, a prize of honor for me, and at
once, that I may not be left without my portion I, of all Argives (9). He says when the girls, the other
girls are just regular, his love looks elsewhere, she is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first would be hold onto the this message against forgetfulness in tides of the day when blissful
sleep is gone (30). I think the fascinating point from the starting of this story is how you can send
messages or communicate through dreams and how Akhaians thought to send message to be prepared
for the war with the help of dreams to Agamemnon. The troops were turning out now, thick as bees
that issue from some crevice in a rock face, endlessly pouring forth, to make a cluster and swarm or
blooms of summer here and there, glinting and droning, busy in bright air. I like how the technique
imagery has been used in the quote, to show how the situation is and to give us a detail of what s
going on by using good comparisons and symbolism. After the snake had gorged upon them all, the
god who sent him, turned him into an omen; turned him to stone. The last interesting part in book 2
and the Iliad is the transformation that takes places. The snake is turned into an omen here, which is
kind of like a real life fantasy. The conclusion is the war not only included the fights, but also a hint of
romance, fantasy, techniques of imagery, and detailed writing that I found

Human Resource Practices With Business Goals
In today s ever increasing competitive business environment, Human Resource practices with business
outcomes in mind is a necessary first step in aligning business goals with employee motives, a well
rounded compensation plan precedes attainment of these business goals(Martocchio 3). As can be seen
by this statement, compensation is a major concern for all players in the business world today. As a
matter of fact, if a company fails to properly manage their compensation package they will find
themselves being left behind by the competition. In particular, what exactly does being left behind in
compensation and benefits mean? It stands that other companies will have an advantage in attracting
high performers who can create an impact for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Concerning this highly important subject of fair and equal compensation to motivate employees, a fair
and equitable compensation system should be free of bias which can only serve to increase profits for
a company verse a substandard compensation package which can only result in undeniable failure of
such a company. By the same token, this can serve to attract employees that can truly make a
difference for the company and it s bottom line. What is more, a fair system can serve to add to the
perceived distributed justice of that company. Theories of distributive justice seek to specify what is
meant by a just distribution of goods among members of society (Internet Encyclopedia of
Philosophy). Notably, if an employee witnesses lower level performer s receiving higher
compensation than their own. Than that employee is likely to grow resentment against the company
and its compensation packages. Thus, this may cause a high performer to leave elsewhere where they
will receive improved compensation. In particular, companies would want to avoid such resentment
because it will lead to a less motivated workforce and talent pool. By the same token, if the employee
is an especially high performer the chances of that employee leaving are even greater because he or
she will value their pay to the amount of effort applied. Hence, if a company wants to retain and keep
great performers then the company needs to attract employees that can make a difference through a

Princess Of Mars
In the novel A Princess of Mars, I will be responding to Burroughs s characterization of the green
Martians in the novel A Princess of Mars which caught my interest for some reason. John Carter; the
hero in this story, first meets these enormously tall green creatures when he first awakens on Mars
after being transported there from the cave. The green Martians are fifteen feet tall and have six legs;
two arms and two legs. John Carter calls them, hideous little monsters (15). Burroughs s describes
them with scrawny bodies and long necks. As Burroughs says in the novel, There was no hair on their
bodies, which were of a very light yellowish green color. In the adults, as I was to learn quite soon,
this color deepens to an olive green

Analysis Of The Book The Lottery Essay
When I think of the lottery, I think of a game basically where they choose one number and something
or something gets chosen.
* Setting can best be defined as: B. Thy physical location, time, and social environment in which a
story takes place. In the first paragraph, the setting is described as a beautiful sunny day that is during
the summer. Everything is in bloom and the grass is green. Basically, during this first paragraph, the
author describes it as a perfect day which shows how nice it is and making the reader not realize what
the townspeople are actually going to do, which is the opposite of how this day really is. This sets a
peaceful and happy tone and atmosphere throughout the beginning of the story.
Mood can best be defined as: A. The emotional effect or feeling that a text creates in a reader. The
mood that the villagers seem to be in is a happy and normal mood because they feel that the lottery is
just another normal day. They are neither sad nor angry, just content and used to the tradition of doing
the lottery. They act like nothing is wrong and do not care who dies. I can tell that they are in a content
mood because they don t care about doing the lottery and feel that it is an important part of their lives.
The type of event that the lottery seems to be is a gathering where they chose to kill one person by
stoning them to death.
The possible reason why the people hesitated to help Mr. summers with the box is that they don t want

Measure The Characteristics Of Men In China
As a Chinese, I think the best male characteristics are strong and high, about one meter eighty. By the
way, I cannot think of other conditions to measure the characteristics of men, perhaps money and
ability to judge a man s standard. In my country has famous saying: Be it a black cat or a white cat, a
cat that can catch mice is a good cat. In other words, physical characteristics are not the main criteria
in China. As a man, I think idealized feminine bodies are black long hair, white temporary skin, and
slender legs. This woman s hand is as slender and beautiful as the willow, we prefer women to be
small and fragile. Maybe the Chinese were influenced by the Confucian culture, the focus of
Confucian culture is middle way, so we are not concerned about the size of sexual characteristics, to

Bbc Narrative
The Ardennes Forest was alive during the peak of summer. The birds were chirping, wind was passing
through the leaves, and race cars were roaring through Eau Rouge. It was the middle of July and
temperatures soared into triple digits. The sun was beaming down on the magnificent Spa
Francorchamps circuit, and it was a perfect day to go racing. This round in Belgium was the only
round of the BRDC British F3 Championship not held in England, and I was looking to capitalize on
this chance to make my move to the front of the field. Thus far, the season had been difficult with high
ambitions turning into lost prospects and great frustration. However, this weekend was different: there
was a whiff of opportunity in the air. I arrived at the circuit Saturday morning with a positive attitude
following some productive practice sessions the day before. Qualifying hadn t gone to plan, with my
position being seventeenth due to the lack of drafting I had done on my best lap. Despite this, the
engineers set the car up in race trim, and the stage was set for an almighty fight to the front. The car
roared into life, growling and snatching at the road eager to get going . I drove out of the paddock and
began to warm my tires. I rounded the final corner, pulled onto the grid, and began to focus on the

Death Penalty And Ethical Analysis
Understanding Ethics as a whole in its definition seems pretty simple. By that assumption, the
application of ethics should also be pretty simple. Should. There are numerous circumstances where
ethics of certain individuals can be and are called into question.
While perusing the internet, and other available resources for specific examples, an article that
sparked interest was written in regards to medical professionals participating in executions. This
raised a number of different questions oriented toward ethics. Is the death penalty morally, or ethically
acceptable? If so, why is it not more widely or wholly accepted across the United States? Is it
acceptable for a medical professional to participate in an execution if the American Medical ... Show

Can or should the State or Federal government mandate medical professional involvement? Is it
ethical if it directly goes against a Doctor s Hippocratic Oath? Is it already spelled out in the Eighth
Amendment? According to a different article from the New England Journal of Medicine The
Supreme Court did not and cannot solve this medical ethics problem for America s physicians. State
legislatures continue to have the authority under the Constitution to determine whether or not to
require executions by lethal injection, and physicians continue to have the legal freedom to determine
whether placing their medical skills at the service of the state to execute condemned prisoners is
consistent with medical ethics. In this regard, physicians could again come to the rescue of the law by
helping corrections officials make executions by lethal injection less risky, less cruel, and more
medicalized, routinized, and sanitized (Annas, 2008, p 1517). In all, the debate still remains on
whether or not it is ethical for a medical professional to participate in a legal death penalty execution.
Arguably, understanding ethics and the application of ethics varies in every

Adult media is given much more freeness but judgement is still apparent. Kevin Smith, a famous
comedian, film producer and comic book writer, is typically judged on his morality because of his

Kevin Smith from the fantastically made documentary The Death of Superman Lives, and Clerks,
where he curses at nauseum and is really being a very explicit person. Since Kevin Smith s nature is
like this he made a false preconception that the Flash episode would represent himself since writing

Actuaries in IT-Programming
Definition
History on the development of programming in the actuarial profession
It has become evident in the work place that programming has become an essential skill. The
importance of developing IT skills is highlighted by the Work Based Skills and Actuarial Training
Offices (Actuarial Society of South Africa, 2013). Also, historical documentation has emphasized the
use of technology in life insurance as well as pension funds as early as the World War II era.
Yates (1997,p.60 and 1999,p.5) stated that in the 1950s life insurance was introduced to the use of
computers as soon as they were available to commercial firms. He further elaborated on how
insurance companies impacted the electro mechanical punched card tabulating equipment technology
since they were the primary users of the punch card machines during the late 1940s and 1950s. Figure
1 below shows an image of a punched card. Figure 1: IBM punched card (Ceruzzi, 2003)
During the second world war, many mathematically trained actuaries and other insurance employees
were recruited to work on military projects involving statistics, code breaking, bombsights and
operations research while a few worked on the new computer technology being developed during the
war (Yates 1999,p.5). A paper by Myers, Friend, and Holberton (1954) illustrates how a UNIVAC
(Universal Automatic computer) was used to complete a set of actuarial calculations . In 1956,

Ethnic And Racial Diversity
After reading the ethnic and racial differences chapter, what stood out for me was how much ethnicity
and culture could negatively affect a student s academic life. It is important to treat those of different
ethnicities, races and cultures the same as you would treat anyone else, including yourself. Ethnicity is
defined as a cultural heritage or characteristics shared by a group, such as history, homeland,
language, traditions or religion (Woolfolk Margetts, Educational Psychology, 2016). There are many
types of ethnicities; Australia alone has 35 different types of ethnic groups. Everyone has family
heritage extending from somewhere else in the world, the most common include Italian, Greek,
German and Irish, and this forms part of your ethnic heritage. My family heritage extends from
Holland and Germany, where my mothers side of my family were all born in Holland and migrated
just before my mother was born, my fathers family migrated from Germany during the 1800 s. Race is
defined as a socially constructed category of people who share biologically transmitted traits
(Woolfolk Margetts, Educational Psychology, 2016). These traits include common features such as
skin colour and hair texture. As I was born in Australia and my heritage descends from Europe, I am
classified as White. Other race categories include African American or Black, American Indian or
Alaskan Native, Asian and Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander. Biologically there are no pure

How Bellamira Is Not A Social Agent
into consideration is that Bellamira is not a social agent that could freely take her earnings and live a
happily ever after life. Although she uses her charms to seduce Ithamore, she is still obligated to
submit to Pilia Borza a man who has complete control of her. Similarly, to Abigail who is controlled
by her father, Pilia Borza is the male dominant figure that asserts his power over the decisions and
body of Bellamira. Moreover, Pilia Borza appears to be the only one to benefit from her sexual
encounters. One specific example of Bellamira being used for her body is when she must do all the
dirty work and take advantage of Ithamore. For example, this is seen in Bellamira s and Ithamore

Unfortunately, for Bellamira her body is used to fulfill the sexual desires of Ithamore, while Pilia
Borza does not have to sell his body, or even do anything. His job is simply to collect from the work
of Bellamira. Thus, Marlowe suggests that a woman s body and sensuality belongs to men because
they are the ones that get to charge/ benefit from such transaction. Despite the fact that Marlowe
allows for Bellamira to supposedly acquire a sense of agency by suggesting she is part of the scheme,
she is actually not gaining anything. In order to calculate such loss, the reader needs to put into
perspective the cost versus the benefits. Although her gain could be the money she stole from
Ithamore, she is limited to what she could do because society rejects her. The reason why we know
this is that the text informs the reader that women who are courtesans or prostitutes are negatively
labeled. To start of, everyone seems to know who these women are because they dress a certain way.
This is seen when Ithamore states, O, the sweetest face that evr I beheld! I know she is a courtesan by
her attire. Now would I give a hundred of the Jew s crowns that I had such a concubine (Marlowe 28).
This quote informs the reader that Bellamira is shunned by society because her occupation forces her
to distinguish herself from all other ladies. Even if a woman believes she is successful because she is
able to make her own money, she is still subjected to distinction and isolation.

American Slavery American Freedom By Edmond S. Morgan
In his book, American Slavery American Freedom, the author Edmond S. Morgan informs us of the
two strange births of American slavery and American freedom in the new colonial Virginia. In this
read, we saw how the new colonial Virginia experience creates a strange enigma of early colonial
freedom and slavery and how the growth of the two develops hand in hand. The title alone has the
reader presuming the reading is focused primarily on American slavery, but to the contrary, it is not. In
defense, this book does show the injustice of slavery in early America not only towards African
Americans but to the Native Americans as well. But, Edmond s book is long, and in some ways, very
detailed. Morgan seems to delight himself in the telling of distinct specifics and at sometimes one
might find themselves wishing he would not linger so much on all the glorious details. Believable or
not, Morgan s method of approach does have a purpose that readers will find at the end. But, as
lengthy as this book is, the reader will have to be determined to get to the end. Through his detailed
work, Morgan wants to display how society acquires its ugly, harsh and immoral traits through a
gradual and dishonest system. Gradually, event by event and law by law the construction of what
seems to emerge has even readers of the 20th century horrified and appalled. Yet, at that time, society
and it s up bringing appears to be the most logical, and appropriate thing to do. We can first see

The Effect of Over Hunting on Blue Whales
The Effect of Over Hunting on Blue Whales
The blue whale is a magnificent creature being the biggest in the world. The blue whale can eat up to
4 tons of krill in one day, and live up to 90 years old. Blue whales can make sounds and tones that
travel up to 1000 miles away. Blue whales are so big and take up so many resources that have to live
in small groups of one or two called pods. The Blue whales habitat ranges between Madagascar and
Antarctica. In 1904 there used to be close to 400,000 blue whales living on earth, but now due to over
hunting people have put the human race in danger along with the blue whale species.
The history of whaling originates all the way back 3000B.C. Whaling is killing whales for meat and
oil. Huge fleets of whalers did not come around until the 1700 s. By the 1930 s 50,000 whales were
being killed annually. From 1904 to 1967 360,000 blue whales were killed, that adds up to about 70%
of their population. Whales produce up to 3 off spring at most in one year so the bounce back from a
huge killing would take many years. The International Whaling Commission was established in 1946,
to help fight commercial whaling.
The IWC came around to help fight whaling, but they had little effect. In 1970 the Convention of
International Trade of Endangered species put a ban on all whaling. Even though there is a ban on
whaling Norway, Iceland, Japan and the USSR still have whaling fleets but under the name of

There have been many institutes questioned, such as the Institute of Medicine, the Centers for Disease

that autism can be blamed on a child s immunizations. Opponents of these studies would like parents

The Importance Of Alcohol Advertisements
In the world of media, companies love to brand their products through advertisements. Companies use
radio broadcasts, billboards, television and in apps online. One of the biggest industries in Australia
and in Brisbane, Queensland is Alcohol. The most common way alcohol is advertised is through
television and a big danger is that anyone can see this advertisement. This often leaves lasting
impressions on people. It often hard to avoid seeing these advertisements being that they are at train
stations, on busses, at gas stations, at local pubs, and all over radio and television. Australians love
cracking a cold one, it has become a part of the Australian culture for more than a decade now.
Alcohol advertisements have become as popular as throwing shrimp on the barbie. Alcohol
advertisements need to be banned in Australia because of the increasing numbers in underage drinking
alcohol related diseases and deaths.
Brisbane needs to ban the promotion of alcohol advertisements because of the increasing number in
underage drinking. Underage drinking has become a serious dilemma in Brisbane over the past
decade. Teens as young as 13 years old are getting their hands on alcohol and are abusing it. This
abuse to young teens is detrimental to them physically, they can have serious physical effects ranging
from disruption of physical growth, trauma to the brain or death. Alcohol consumption underage not

How I got interested in this occupation is that I knew that I wanted to help people in some way, but I

me prepare for my career, because I plan to work in a clinical setting that deals with diagnosing people
based on their behaviors. Studying psychology is all about the mind s functions and how it affects
behavior. In the following paragraphs I will explain in depth of background knowledge and the

electrical circuit. Physicists who study the electrical properties of matter at the microscopic level use a
closely related and more general vector equation, sometimes also referred to as Ohm s law, having
variables that are closely related to the V, I, and R scalar variables of Ohm s law, but which are each
functions of position within the conductor. Physicists often use this continuum form of Ohm s Law:
[31] where E is the electric field vector with units of volts per meter (analogous to V of Ohm s law
which has units of volts), J is thecurrent density vector with units of amperes per unit area (analogous
to I of Ohm s law which has units of amperes), and ρ (Greek rho ) is the resistivity with units of
ohm·meters (analogous to R of Ohm s law which has units of ohms). The above equation is
sometimes written[32] as J = E where σ (Greek sigma ) is the conductivity which is the reciprocal

Then have the students use theitr dry erase marker to write what sounds or letters that they hear at the
beginning of the word, dragonfly. Then have the students pick a partner to tell them what a dragonfly
is as a teacher I will be walking around to listen to the students explain their definitions to see if they
can agree on a common definition. Students will be able to listen to their partner s ideas about
dragonflies. And students will be able to write a descriptive sentence about dragonflies and decide
through taking turns and through talking to each other. Then I would have their questions up on the
board that they have asksed. Then I would put their answers on the board after they have found out the
answers. There will be charts and books for the children to look at when they are drawing their
dragonfly Then ask the students to draw a dragonfly in their graphic organizer and then have them
draw the dragonflies body parts on their dry erase boards. Then have them each student come up and
show their picture and tell the class what they think a dragonfly is and where do they come from.

Course Learning Outcomes For English 110
As I reflect on my work at the end of this semester, I am able to see how much I have improved as a
writer. I have learned my weaknesses through peer reviews, and the feedbacks that I received from
you. This cover letter will address four of the course learning outcomes for English 110 such as, how
to write effectively using a number of rhetorical strategies and patterns, demonstrate the ability to
synthesize materials drawn from multiple sources using critical reflection and independent judgment,
write a research paper of 2,500 words, and carry out essential steps in the writing process. I enclosed
three works that I have submitted for this course which are, The Journey of a Small Town Girl, The
Wright Brothers, and my research paper titled The Dirty Dozen.
My purpose in writing the literacy narrative was to let different audiences to have a taste of what the
struggle of an immigrant is like. This was the first paper that I had to write for this class and it was the
easiest out of all. I got to express my struggles in a very unique way. During my peer review session
for this paper, I was able to see my mistakes such as verb tense agreement, word choice and awkward
phrasing. I learned to not use abbreviations throughout this piece because a mixed audience may not
be familiar with them.
I think the best part of my narrative is my introduction and conclusion. My introduction sets a
mysterious tone by stating I always wondered how would my life... By starting the

Walt Whittman s Song Of Myself
Song of Myself writing In the poem Song Of Myself by Walt Whittman, he emphasizes that we are all
connected as individuals and everyone has their place in the universe, because we are all made of
atoms. The poet claims that For every atom belonging to me as good belongs to you (ll.3) Whittman is
trying to describe how everyone in the universe is the same. Whittman saw slavery with his own eyes
and believed it was wrong as no one had the right to own another. This reinforces his belief that we are
all the same, no one can be above another, and we all have a right to this world. Whittman continues
that The smallest sprout shows there is really no death (ll.41) Whittman is describing how death isn t
really the end since we leave something

Ancient Persia Research Paper
Ancient Persia were one of the most influential and most powerful empires of its time. This empire
was its known for tolerance of its conquered peoples and it literary, educational, mathematical, and
governmental achievements. Cementing its place forever in history and landing it a spot among one of
the world s most powerful empires.
One of Persia achievements was the skill of building roads for travel and trading. One of these roads
was the Persian royal road which spread from Anatolia to Aegean Sea is it the distance of more than
1,500 miles. This obviously required a strong and central government that can gather the people and
resources to build and maintain the roads. During this time building roads like this was considered
really impressive.This ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This help prevented any uprisings from forming because this allowed people still to live their daily
lives and not drastically change it.The first person to establish was Cyrus the Great he did this in order
to unite the land for his empire many people respect him for this when Cyrus conquered Babylon
many people received him well due to his religious tolerance of other peoples. One of the reason that
some people liked Persia s rule more than others because it freed them from tyrants. In Babylon at the
time tthe Babaloynian king Nabonidus was considered a tyrant at the time and when Cyrus conquered
them through his toloerance they lived a more happy and free life. Through Persia s tolerance even
Babylonian prisoners of war were set free back to their families.
Another one of the Persia s achievements is their use of measurements and weights which allowed
them to gain more accurate sizes and weights. This help the economy when it came to buying produce
and other things. An example is say you buy some meat you put it on a scale and according the weight
of the meat that is how much you pay. This also could be use to scam people by adjusting the weights
in your or not your favor. One of measuring units is the shekel which equals to about 8.40 grams. This
is also another one persia s great

Dealing with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome
I hurt...Over the many year s now of dealing with the disease commonly referred to today as Complex
Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS), this simple yet weighted term of I hurt has become imprinted upon
my brain. This term has also become synonymous in describing how I feel to every physician, family
member, and friend, when describing the chief symptom with CRPS. What is also troubling, is all the
additional place s I hurt now since being diagnosed with this disease. The paragraph above is
intentionally wrote in the first person, however, it never states whom the I or character is and at any
other time would be slanted for poor grammar. Here being the I in the first paragraph, in this case, can
stand for anyone diagnosed with CRPS, as well as, the undiagnosed. People in the undiagnosed
category is where a lot of misery abides, they are telling everyone they hurt yet get no relief. This is a
sad category because a lot of it lies in the face of false hood. Doctor s and family do not believe you.
You might have no other symptom than pain, and then, you get slapped with drug seeking behavior. I
shutter and cringe as to how many undiagnosed cases of CRPS take place every year just in the United
States. There is also a middle category to this conundrum, whereby, your given the title of CRPS,
however, your not fully diagnosed per se or the diagnosis of CRPS is not recognized, understood, or
believed to be the case by other physician s. This nice little slice of heaven is where

Men Women and Japanese American Intercultural Communication Analysis of the Mitsubishi Case
Introduction It was my first day in high school. Standing alone in the middle of the play ground
looking for anyone I know or can talk to, my eyes was searching all over the place. A pretty blond girl
standing alone was a scene that, for sure, attracted my attention then. The moment my eyes saw her,
my mind started thinking of ways to talk to her. After some time wasted thinking, I saw a girl I know
approaching the blond. Not willing to waste such opportunity, I marched forward toward them. We
had a nice chat through which I got to know the blond girl. She turned out to be a very nice and
friendly French girl who just arrived to Egypt ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In April 1996, the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) brought a suit seeking
damages of as much as $300 thousands per women on behalf of 300 female plant employees. The suit
came after 15 month investigations of several sexual harassments complaints at MMMA.
Men vs. Women The idea of different subcultures for males and females, although they live in the
same country, taught the same values, and eat the same food, is not new. Although men and women
live under the same conditions, they are expected to behave and respond differently. Thus as Maltz
puts it: The different social needs of men and women have led them to sexually differentiated
communication cultures, with each sex learning a different set of skills for manipulating words (Maltz,
p.200). Maltz explains this by saying that each one of us learns his communication culture through the
period of, approximately, age 5 to 15, when boys and girls interact socially primarily with members of
their own sex . Not only boys and girls learn to respond differently, but they learn, self consciously, to
differentiate, with exaggeration, their behavior from the other sex (Maltz, p.203). If we talk in terms of
Hofstede four dimensions of cultural differences, then American men culture could be described a
culture that

  • 9. Argumentative Essay On Freedom Of Religion As we have established, freedom of religion is protected by the first amendment. This amendment is divided between two clauses, the Establishment clause, and the Free exercise clause. While the latter allows individuals to exercise freely their religious beliefs, the former prevents the government to impose a federal religion and prevents coercion upon a religious belief. Even though these protections exist in reality they are easily overcome by compelling government interest . The first amendment hasn t been very efficient when facing claims of Native Americans, unsurprisingly this is fully in line with the prior decisions concerning their rights. A problem arises linked with the scope of the freedom of religion clause. As we know it protects religions, the question is then what is considered as a religion for it to be protected by the first amendment? As we have said previously, the courts have a tendency to adopt a Judeo Christian point of view when determining whether a religion is protected by the first amendment. The question is whether the place given to sacred sites in the Native American beliefs will rather be understood as a cultural use. Since courts don t protect these lands it seems that they don t consider it as part of a religious belief, but rather as part of a cultural use, offering monetary damages instead of protecting it, as in US v Sioux Nation of Indians. A reason that may explain the position adopted by the courts may be that Indian beliefs seem to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I think the idea from transcendentalism that there is no form of superior intelligence is the reason as to why Bartleby prefers not to (6) in all forms of requests. This is the moment in the story where Bartleby assumes the position of a transcendentalist. This point is where he breaks free of societal duties and refuses all help from the narrator, denying money and shelter from him. Although critiques such as Walter E. Anderson argue that Bartleby s isolation shows Christian moral reading is the correct context to assume, I disagree. There are allusions to biblical texts such as the narrator referring to himself and Bartleby as sons of Adam (11). But I think Bartleby is isolated to show how he is alone from everyone, living in a cubical, and being surrounded by walls. Although Christianity gives feelings of isolation with God, Bartleby is isolated with his spiritual self, saying he would prefer to make no change at all (21). Bartleby determines his fate by questioning himself and his societal roles. He does not look to Christ in any form, not believing in a higher intellectual form. Instead he finds serenity in his civil disobedience. Another form of symbolism important to Bartleby s isolation is the imagery of walls . Therefore, the means can be described as being significantly different, meaning that we can fail to reject the hypothesis that, if spore density is elevated, environmental resources will be limited among spores, promoting the development of male or hermaphrodite ferns with increased levels of ACE, due to their higher self sufficiency, in comparison to female ferns. This process of pheromonal regulation of reproductive traits protects ferns from the harmful effects of inbreeding, which would reduce genetic variation within the species and create vulnerabilities within a population. This would lead to a reduction in their numbers, as it has been studied that the sexual phenotype of gametophytes is heavily influenced by its social environment (Atallah Banks, 2015). As discussed earlier, disparities between male and female gametophytes regarding environmental resources, which can be limited with increased spore densities, is critical in determining sex, which was shown through experimentation conducted by scientists Granger and Sturey, when studying the effect of antheridiogen concentration and spore size on gametophytes size in C. ferns. Their experimental results suggest the notion that gender could be directly influenced by the effect of antheridiogen and gametophyte growth under set environmental conditions, as well as if predisposed genetic mutations, which could alter the ACE s effect within a population, are taken into account. Their evidence also suggests that gender can be indirectly altered concerning other unaccounted for developmental factors, such as the rate at which gametophyte growth occurred, but more research is required on this matter (Granger Sturey, ... The troops were turning out now, thick as bees that issue from some crevice in a rock face, endlessly pouring forth, to make a cluster and swarm or blooms of summer here and there, glinting and droning, busy in bright air. I like how the technique imagery has been used in the quote, to show how the situation is and to give us a detail of what s going on by using good comparisons and symbolism. After the snake had gorged upon them all, the god who sent him, turned him into an omen; turned him to stone. The last interesting part in book 2 and the Iliad is the transformation that takes places. The snake is turned into an omen here, which is kind of like a real life fantasy. The conclusion is the war not only included the fights, but also a hint of romance, fantasy, techniques of imagery, and detailed writing that I found ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Human Resource Practices With Business Goals In today s ever increasing competitive business environment, Human Resource practices with business outcomes in mind is a necessary first step in aligning business goals with employee motives, a well rounded compensation plan precedes attainment of these business goals(Martocchio 3). As can be seen by this statement, compensation is a major concern for all players in the business world today. As a matter of fact, if a company fails to properly manage their compensation package they will find themselves being left behind by the competition. In particular, what exactly does being left behind in compensation and benefits mean? Concerning this highly important subject of fair and equal compensation to motivate employees, a fair and equitable compensation system should be free of bias which can only serve to increase profits for a company verse a substandard compensation package which can only result in undeniable failure of such a company. By the same token, this can serve to attract employees that can truly make a difference for the company and it s bottom line. What is more, a fair system can serve to add to the perceived distributed justice of that company. Theories of distributive justice seek to specify what is meant by a just distribution of goods among members of society (Internet Encyclopedia of Philosophy). Notably, if an employee witnesses lower level performer s receiving higher compensation than their own. Than that employee is likely to grow resentment against the company and its compensation packages. Thus, this may cause a high performer to leave elsewhere where they will receive improved compensation. In particular, companies would want to avoid such resentment because it will lead to a less motivated workforce and talent pool. By the same token, if the employee is an especially high performer the chances of that employee leaving are even greater because he or she will value their pay to the amount of effort applied. Hence, if a company wants to retain and keep great performers then the company needs to attract employees that can make a difference through a fair ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The green Martians are fifteen feet tall and have six legs; two arms and two legs. John Carter calls them, hideous little monsters (15). Burroughs s describes them with scrawny bodies and long necks. Analysis Of The Book The Lottery Essay When I think of the lottery, I think of a game basically where they choose one number and something or something gets chosen. * Setting can best be defined as: B. Thy physical location, time, and social environment in which a story takes place. In the first paragraph, the setting is described as a beautiful sunny day that is during the summer. Everything is in bloom and the grass is green. Basically, during this first paragraph, the author describes it as a perfect day which shows how nice it is and making the reader not realize what the townspeople are actually going to do, which is the opposite of how this day really is. This sets a peaceful and happy tone and atmosphere throughout the beginning of the story. Mood can best be defined as: A. The emotional effect or feeling that a text creates in a reader. The mood that the villagers seem to be in is a happy and normal mood because they feel that the lottery is just another normal day. They are neither sad nor angry, just content and used to the tradition of doing the lottery. They act like nothing is wrong and do not care who dies. I can tell that they are in a content mood because they don t care about doing the lottery and feel that it is an important part of their lives. Similarly, to Abigail who is controlled by her father, Pilia Borza is the male dominant figure that asserts his power over the decisions and body of Bellamira. Despite the fact that Marlowe allows for Bellamira to supposedly acquire a sense of agency by suggesting she is part of the scheme, she is actually not gaining anything. In order to calculate such loss, the reader needs to put into perspective the cost versus the benefits. Although her gain could be the money she stole from Ithamore, she is limited to what she could do because society rejects her. The reason why we know this is that the text informs the reader that women who are courtesans or prostitutes are negatively labeled. Morgan informs us of the two strange births of American slavery and American freedom in the new colonial Virginia. In this read, we saw how the new colonial Virginia experience creates a strange enigma of early colonial freedom and slavery and how the growth of the two develops hand in hand. The title alone has the reader presuming the reading is focused primarily on American slavery, but to the contrary, it is not. In defense, this book does show the injustice of slavery in early America not only towards African Americans but to the Native Americans as well. But, Edmond s book is long, and in some ways, very detailed. Morgan seems to delight himself in the telling of distinct specifics and at sometimes one might find themselves wishing he would not linger so much on all the glorious details. Believable or not, Morgan s method of approach does have a purpose that readers will find at the end. But, as lengthy as this book is, the reader will have to be determined to get to the end. Through his detailed work, Morgan wants to display how society acquires its ugly, harsh and immoral traits through a gradual and dishonest system. • 43. Course Learning Outcomes For English 110 As I reflect on my work at the end of this semester, I am able to see how much I have improved as a writer. I have learned my weaknesses through peer reviews, and the feedbacks that I received from you. This cover letter will address four of the course learning outcomes for English 110 such as, how to write effectively using a number of rhetorical strategies and patterns, demonstrate the ability to synthesize materials drawn from multiple sources using critical reflection and independent judgment, write a research paper of 2,500 words, and carry out essential steps in the writing process. I enclosed three works that I have submitted for this course which are, The Journey of a Small Town Girl, The Wright Brothers, and my research paper titled The Dirty Dozen. My purpose in writing the literacy narrative was to let different audiences to have a taste of what the struggle of an immigrant is like. This was the first paper that I had to write for this class and it was the easiest out of all. I got to express my struggles in a very unique way. During my peer review session for this paper, I was able to see my mistakes such as verb tense agreement, word choice and awkward phrasing. I learned to not use abbreviations throughout this piece because a mixed audience may not be familiar with them. I think the best part of my narrative is my introduction and conclusion. My introduction sets a mysterious tone by stating I always wondered how would my life... By starting the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Walt Whittman s Song Of Myself Song of Myself writing In the poem Song Of Myself by Walt Whittman, he emphasizes that we are all connected as individuals and everyone has their place in the universe, because we are all made of atoms. The poet claims that For every atom belonging to me as good belongs to you (ll.3) Whittman is trying to describe how everyone in the universe is the same. Whittman saw slavery with his own eyes and believed it was wrong as no one had the right to own another. This reinforces his belief that we are all the same, no one can be above another, and we all have a right to this world. Dealing with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome I hurt...Over the many year s now of dealing with the disease commonly referred to today as Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS), this simple yet weighted term of I hurt has become imprinted upon my brain. This term has also become synonymous in describing how I feel to every physician, family member, and friend, when describing the chief symptom with CRPS. What is also troubling, is all the additional place s I hurt now since being diagnosed with this disease. The paragraph above is intentionally wrote in the first person, however, it never states whom the I or character is and at any other time would be slanted for poor grammar. Here being the I in the first paragraph, in this case, can stand for anyone diagnosed with CRPS, as well as, the undiagnosed. People in the undiagnosed category is where a lot of misery abides, they are telling everyone they hurt yet get no relief. This is a sad category because a lot of it lies in the face of false hood. Doctor s and family do not believe you. You might have no other symptom than pain, and then, you get slapped with drug seeking behavior. I shutter and cringe as to how many undiagnosed cases of CRPS take place every year just in the United States. There is also a middle category to this conundrum, whereby, your given the title of CRPS, however, your not fully diagnosed per se or the diagnosis of CRPS is not recognized, understood, or believed to be the case by other physician s. • 47. Men-Women and Japanese-American Intercultural... Men Women and Japanese American Intercultural Communication Analysis of the Mitsubishi Case Introduction It was my first day in high school. Standing alone in the middle of the play ground looking for anyone I know or can talk to, my eyes was searching all over the place. A pretty blond girl standing alone was a scene that, for sure, attracted my attention then. The moment my eyes saw her, my mind started thinking of ways to talk to her. After some time wasted thinking, I saw a girl I know approaching the blond. Not willing to waste such opportunity, I marched forward toward them. We had a nice chat through which I got to know the blond girl. She turned out to be a very nice and friendly French girl who just arrived to Egypt ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In April 1996, the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) brought a suit seeking damages of as much as $300 thousands per women on behalf of 300 female plant employees. The suit came after 15 month investigations of several sexual harassments complaints at MMMA. Men vs. Women The idea of different subcultures for males and females, although they live in the same country, taught the same values, and eat the same food, is not new. Although men and women live under the same conditions, they are expected to behave and respond differently. Thus as Maltz puts it: The different social needs of men and women have led them to sexually differentiated communication cultures, with each sex learning a different set of skills for manipulating words (Maltz, p.200). Maltz explains this by saying that each one of us learns his communication culture through the period of, approximately, age 5 to 15, when boys and girls interact socially primarily with members of their own sex . Not only boys and girls learn to respond differently, but they learn, self consciously, to differentiate, with exaggeration, their behavior from the other sex (Maltz, p.203). If we talk in terms of Hofstede four dimensions of cultural differences, then American men culture could be described a culture that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
