Textual Analysis Of The Movie Bye Birdie
In the beginning of the film the audience is first welcome with Rose Perez (Tina) dancing against
the back drop of Brooklyn brownstone stairs. This is supported by the film theme song Fight the
Power by Public enemy which is heard blaring in the background while the character is dancing.
The tone of the song seems quite aggressive if not rebellious, this was due to the fact that the song
was going to be used as a leitmotif throughout the filmsimilar to other films like Indian jones
(Steven Spielberg) and even under the skin (Jonathan Glazer).
It was said that Spike Lee gained his stylistic inspiration from films Bye Bye birdie (George Birdie)
and apparently the opening from the Cosby Show. Which was an another form of black

Definition Of Self Regulation Assignment
Self regulation Assignment Manjunath Bhat McMaster University Under the principle of
universality, the standardization of nursing care across the country is important to maintain inter
professional equality and compatibility. This can be achieved by regulating nursing practice
through inter professional collaboration, communication, professional conduct, accountability and
mutual respect (Benton, GonzГЎlez Jurado Beneit Montesinos, 2013). Self regulation assignment
is a tool developed by College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) to promote safe, competent and ethical
nursing care in Ontario. It will assist nurses with professional practice and help them understand the
expectation of entry level practice. It will also ensure that nurses are able to demonstrate the
competencies through Quality Assurance (QA) program (Colleges of Nurses of Ontario, 2014a).
The College regulates the nursing practice through the quality assurance program which has two
parts: self assessment and practice assessment. The purpose of self assessment is to identify
learning needs and develop a learning plan using SMART goals (Specific, Measurable, Attainable,
Reliable and Time bound) to meet those learning needs. Through the practice assessment, CNO
regulates the nursing practice by selecting few nurses to participate in the assessment every year.

The following is a copy of the transcript of an interview conducted by Anna Kelly with IT

Jeff:For things such as RAM, I need to track a quantity, too.
Anna:OK. Given the changes you want, I think we ought to define the word component.
Jeff:Good question. You have to think about how we buy and upgrade. Sometimes we buy a
complete system with CPU, monitor, mouse, keyboard the works in one package.
Anna:If you buy it as one unit, do you get all the detailed component information and enter it to the
columns?
Jeff:No, because if we bought it as a unit we let the vendor service it as a unit under warranty. In
those cases a complete system would be a single component. But then later we upgrade a hard
drive, add RAM, replace something, etc. A replacement NIC can be a separate component.
Anna:I know we custom build some PCs. What about them?
Jeff:A PC that we build from individual parts is all components.
Anna:So, if everything is a component, is there any information that pertains to the PC in general?
Jeff:Yes. First of all, this PC Configuration Sheet doesn t show it, but we need to track whether we
are talking about a PC, a printer, a router, a hub or some other kind of technology equipment.
Anna:We service all those?
Jeff:If by service, you mean repair, then no. But if you

Richard Nixon Watergate Scandal
Watergate scandal remains one of the historical revelation of excessive use of power during the
reign of President Richard Nixon. After the break in at the Democratic National Committee at the
Westgate offices, there was a remarkable series of rotten underbelly in the Nixon s administration.
Specifically, this scandal led to the discovery of the multiple abuses of the power under the articles
of impeachment. Because of the unlawful approach used by this administration to thwart those who
were critical of Nixon s administration, human rights groups and political activities embarked on
demanding for explanation and resignation of the president. Rightful, there was reasonable grounds
to demand the president s resignation because it became overt that he had used FBI, CIA and
Internal Revenue Service to silence critics. Subsequently, this... Show more content on

During this scandal, Clinton was accused of engaging in an extramarital affair in the White House.
This led to the impeachment motion in 1998 by the U.S House of Representatives. However, he
was acquitted of all charges of perjury and obstruction of justice in the Senate trial. Moreover, his
license to practice law was suspended in Arkansas and even by the United States Supreme Court.
Besides, he received a fine of $90,000 because of giving a wrong account of the testimony. Like
the previous President, the Clinton Lewinsky Sex Scandal depicts a serious pursuit of the American
people to safeguard the respect for the presidency. The fact that the U.S president was subjected to
Senate and House of Representative trial and even suspension of his legal license manifest
expansion of the oversight roles. Indeed, the president is accountable to the electorate both
politically and socially. Again, this scandal revealed the increased scrutiny on the presidency and

Catullus 101 Essay Catullus 101 is an elegiac poem written by Gaius Valerius Catullus about
Catullus visiting the grave of his brother. Catullus conveys his feelings of sadness and remorse in
poem one hundred and one through his use of diction and repetition. His sadness is also revealed
through the scansion of the poem. Catullusdiction in Catullus 101 unearths feelings of melancholy
and anger, and contributes to an overall grief stricken tone. Throughout the poem, he uses words

fraterno multum manantia fletu (soaking much with brotherly tears), which affirm the mournful
tone of the poem (2, 4, 9). The words he chooses to use carry a

The Lottery Offers A Wonderful Opportunity
The lottery offers a wonderful opportunity to possibly win millions of dollars. While this might
seems amazing, it might not be as wonderful as imagined. In fact, maybe even the opposite might
true as stated by numerous studies and research done since the 1970s. Lotteries have been
reported to have possibly started all the way back in the Han Dynasty early 200 B.C. The first
official record of a public lotterywas in 1434 from the Dutch town of Sluis. The original idea of
the lottery was to help the lower class and fortify townships. It was not until the 1600s when the
more modern form of the lottery came about. Where one would buy a ticket for a small amount
with the possibility to win a big cash purse. Later, around 1890 much scrutiny and distrust
surrounded the lottery which eventually led to the United States stopping sales of tickets and
made lotteries illegal. This was in effect until after World War II and the iconic modern lotteries
started to come back into everyday lives. At first it was just separate state lotteries, but eventually
in late 80s and early 90s interstate lotteries emerged which include the famous Mega Million,
originally named The Big Game, and Powerball. Some of the success for the recent lotteries goes
to the more credible system of checking and organizing tickets called the Marksense system. The
allure of the lottery is for a small charge, usually $1 or $2, there is the possibility of winning
millions. While the large majority of those who buy

The Flaws Of State Led Humanitarianism
Since the turn of the century, the world has experienced various events that have rendered millions
homeless, starving or even without a country. Such events may range from merciless persecution by
a ruthless dictator to a furious tsunami that leaves destruction in its wake. In such incidents, it is
human nature to help those affected rebuild their lives and find comfort again. As a result,
governments spend billions on foreign aid projects aimed at helping populations rebuild
themselves after a tragic event. Despite the funding and resources spent on these projects, their
success rate is dismal. Coyne s book explains the flaws of state led humanitarianism. Using case
studies that range from Afghanistan to Haiti, Coyne successfully argues against state aid proving
that continuing with that approach is likely to remain unsuccessful. He further demonstrates that
state aid fails to fulfill its mandate because the parties involved are either too arrogant or ignorant
to acknowledge fundamental flaws of state led aid. He says that the influence of agenda driven
opinions of blurs the objectives of financial assistance from the beginning. Since governments
focus on what they should, rather than what they can do, the goals of the most aid funded projects
in affected nations remain unrealized. In my opinion, Coyne s work is very convincing because it
methodically shows how aid moves from a state agency to the project in question and the various
parties in the middle that take away

How Did Woodrow Wilson Become Conservative
New Nationalism In 1907, major firms in the stock market declared bankruptcy, leading to an
event called the Panic of 1907. This caused a recession, or a decline in spending and employment.
Many business leaders blamed this financial crisis on the Progressive reforms of Roosevelt. The
economy recovered by 1909, casting some doubt on these previous accusations. However,
Roosevelt lost the nomination for a third term and left the presidency in 1909. William Howard
Taft, Roosevelt s successor, became the next president, but he angered many progressive
Republicans by not being firm enough in controlling big business. As a result, a progressive faction,
or offshoot, formed in the Republican Party. This development created tension between progressives

In response, Congress passed the Underwood Tariff Act in 1913. This act lowered the average
rates of tariffs from 40 percent to 25 percent. The law also removed tariffs entirely from certain
goods such as sugar, wool, iron ore, and steel. This allowed the prices of those imported goods to
compete with similar products of American producers, which benefited American consumers.
Banking Wilson also argued for an extensive reform of banking and currency laws. He thought
that the banking system needed to run more efficiently to enhance businesses. To accomplish
this, Wilson supported the establishment of a nationwide centralized banking system. He also
believed that a new federal currency was needed to assist the flow of money. Six months later,
Congress passed the Federal Reserve Act of 1913, which formed a national banking and currency
system similar to the one Wilson supported. Twelve Federal Reserve Banks were created with the
authority to issue Federal Bank Notes, the official U.S. currency, to nationally chartered private
banks. Those banks were able to borrow the money at a fixed interest rate. The rate did not rise
during the period when the loan was repaid. This kept the banking system

Agatha Christie s Witness for the Prosecution Essay
This paper will present a compare and contrast of the short story, Witness for the Prosecution to the
screenplay of the same name written by Agatha Christie. The focus of the similarities and
differences will be, a review of the characters and the story.
In both versions there are both likable and unlikable characters that create a gripping tale where
you find yourself hoping young Leonard Vole will beat the overwhelming odds stacked against
him. Vole has been accused of murdering the late Mrs. Finch and in both he is represented by the
defense attorney, Mr. Mayherne (changed later in the screenplay to Mayhew). However, in the
screenplay Mayherne is the assistant of Sir Wilfrid Robarts, Q.C. Sir Robarts plays a foremost roll in
... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Leonard, the accused, Mayherne the defense lawyer, Romaine the wife of the accused, the deceased
Mrs. Finch and her maid Janet MacKenzie all play chief rolls in Christie s creation; however, it is
Sir Robarts who is the most notable addition.
While the characters, are mostly the same, with the addition of some others, their parts in the
story differ as much as does the ending of both. Leonard again is the accused, and Mayherne his
defense, but Mayherne acts as a bit of a detective in the story and does little in the way of sleuthing
in the play. The old woman, Mrs. Finch, while saved from a speeding bus by Loenard in both
accounts, is later reunited with her savior at a party in the short story and in the play she finds him
at the theater. None of this really impacts either story because in both instances her only purpose
for being in the story is so she can fulfill the role in the classic style of all who done its by being
the one who gets bludgeoned to death. In both cases, Leonard s wife plays the evil woman out to
do in her husband and lie about his whereabouts the night of the murder. Mayherne interviews
Romaine at her home in the original, but in the play she meets Mayherne and Sir Robarts at their
office early in the play. When Romaine learns she is Leonard s only alibi, she leads Mayherne and
Robarts to believe that she intendeds to sabotage her husband s defense. However, while Romaine

Brief Summary Of The Story Bean Si
Bean si means woman of the hills in Irish. The Irish woman of the hills is a banshee. A banshee
is known to foretell a death, whether it be yours or someone you love. She is not violent but
surely very terrifying. She will not hurt you but her haunting cries will surely petrify you. She
appears in mainly one form but can appear in other forms as well. Often a tall, thin middle age
woman, a bansheeshould be considered a monster not because of her intentions, but because of her
purpose, to foreshadow your or someone you love s death.
A banshee is often a towering, bony woman. She is known for her penetrating, fiery red eyes that
have come from centuries of weeping. She is most often seen clothed in a green dress with a
hooded grey cloak draped over it. A banshee is known to have long, very light hair. The majority
of the time, the banshee appears as a tall, wiry middle age woman, but she can also appear in other
forms. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If several banshees appeared, it was to signify that someone great or divine was to die. Sometimes
the tale told that this woman, even though she was called a fairy, was a ghost who died by murder or
had passed away in childbirth.
In American folklore, tales of a banshee were heard in the late 18th century. The most heard
stories are from North Carolina. In these accounts the banshee is simply a ghoul, not a sign of
misfortune. Some descriptions are from South Dakota. These say that the banshee was known to
wail on a hill near Watch Dog Butte. This version of the legend also doesn t relate her to any
foreshadowing of death.
There are different chronicles of the banshee coming from other Celtic cultures. In Scottish
mythology, a comparable creature is recognized as the bean nighe and is seen washing blood
stained clothes or the armor of those about to die. In Welsh fables, a very much alike being is
known as the Hag of the

Mr. Musk said, in the next two to three years Tesla Motors plans to make their electric cars price
range from about 30 thousand to 35 thousand dollars. These more affordable electric cars will be
20% smaller than the Tesla model Sbut the cars themselves will still be able to travel 200 to 250
miles with one single charge. By then Tesla Motors plans to have supercharge networks
positioned throughout the US and Europe, allowing Tesla vehicles to be able to drive across the
United States. Old auto industries hate that Tesla Motors are bringing these new innovations to

Transgender Individuals Serving In The Military Essay
President Trump recently signed and transmitted a directive to the Department of Defense, which
would discontinue the admittance of transgender individuals into the military. The guidance sent to
the Pentagon on Friday, August 25th, 2017, also communicated the President s desire to cut off
funding from tax dollars to pay for troop s sex changes.
When Did the Subject of Transgender Individuals Serving in the Military Come up?
Former President Obama, brought the matter of transgender individuals serving in the military
before leaving office. He set the implementation date for his changes for July 2017, which of

Reasons Transgender Troops Could Cause Problems:
Whether or not a person agrees with the transgender lifestyle is of no consequence. There are other
reasons that transgender troops aren t a good idea that has nothing to do with a moral leaning. They
are as follows:
Mental Health Issues: The military has strict restrictions on admittance based upon mental health.
For example, any presence of a mood disorder that requires medication can be disqualifying.
Anxiety issues are also disqualifying for entry into the military. When you consider this alongside
the fact that transgender people are at a greater risk, by two to three fold of developing this type
of mental disorder, according to a study published in the Journal of Adolescent Health, it makes
sense that someone who had a predisposition already to developing a mental illness wouldn t make
a good soldier.
Medical Needs That Take Soldiers Off The Battle Field:
Also, another reason why the military is so picky about enlistments is the fact that they want able
bodied troops who do their job, without fail. Transgender people, who are in the

It s about a fictional Native American culture flourishing 3,000 years ago at the archeological site
today known as Poverty Point in northern Louisiana. My hope for my literary prehistoric novel with
its strong though somewhat insecure female heroine, traditional and original Native American
based myths and legends weaved throughout the storyline, and plausible explanation as to why a
thriving community suddenly abandons its extensive village built on a series of phenomenal
crescent shaped earthwork mounds is that it be published and appeal to archeology, history, Native
American folklore, naturalist, and romance enthusiasts, not to mention those simply charmed by

The Effects Of Companion Animals On College Campuses
A giant fluffy dog walks past you as you cross the street on your college campus. You cannot help
but notice him smiling up at you with his tongue half hanging out. Although you feel today has
been the worst day, you cannot help but feel compelled to respond back with a big grin since he
looks so happy. According to Wells (2009), it is only recently, however, that any scientific attention
has been devoted to the relationship between companion animal and physical well being in humans.
With new information, owning a companion animal has become increasingly more popular for
college studentto have on their campuses. College campuses can be a hard time for many, and can

In order to conclude her results she looked at the attachment style. For Wells (2009) she concluded,
a direct causal association between human well being and companion animals is still not
conclusive, the literature reviewed above is largely supportive of the widely held belief that pets are
good for us. Although she found no supportive link between the two variables, she did still see that
somehow and someway animals can improve people s lives. College students can fall under the
disease category of this study since many students suffer from these conditions when times become
stressful.
Friedman and Son (2009) also studied the association of companion animals and human health
benefits. An important question is whether pet ownership causes better health or better health
encourages pet ownership (Friedman and Son, 2009). After researching this question, they found
that pet owners had lower levels of cardiovascular risk factors such as serum triglyceride and
blood pressure than non owners (Friedman and Son, 2009). They even looked at a longitudinal
study that pet ownership was associated with increased 1 year survival rates in patients
hospitalized for coronary heart disease (Friedman and Son, 2009). Their results provided a basis
that the association between both variables does exist, but still needs

Anti Semitic Movement
The Jews in foreign lands began to dream of a new nation that would become a safe haven for all
the Jews in the world. The sentiment was created partly due to the fact that the anti Semitic
movement was on the rise in parts of Europe and Asia and the Jews had begun to feel the brunt of
it. The sentiment grew to become the Zionist movement. The sole aim of the Zionist movement
was the setup of the Jewish state of Israelin the trans Jordanregion. By the beginning of the 20th

The child that I am observing is a five year old boy named, Alberto. His birthday is on January 5,

Overview of the Healthy Food for Healthy School Act Essay
It was lunch time and students walked into the cafeteria to purchase lunch. A wide variety of
food was placed in front of them to choose from ranging from pizza to burgers to bags of chips
and chocolate bars. Their choices were endless up until a new reform took over and enlisted new
changes. The Healthy Food for Healthy SchoolAct was placed on September 1st, 2008. Its policy
entailed schools to practice healthy eating where they would be dropping trans fat from food and
beverages sold in schools and establishing mandatory nutritionstandards for food and beverages
sold in schools (Ontario Ministry of Education). While this reform plays a significant role in the
health of students, it also has a great impact on other sectors.... Show more content on

As stated in Food: How School Food Affects Student Health, where there is a lack of creativity and
motivation to cultivate a healthy and sustainable menu, fast food chains, junk food vendors, and
soda companies rush in to fill the void, offering partnerships with schools that allow them to market
their products in schools (2008). With the new reform in place, schools have been instructed to
follow new guidelines and nutrition programmes to meet the standards of a healthy school. This
required the removal of vending machine sodas, and the reconfiguration of the foods in all school
cafeterias. With this new reform in place, schools have seen various outcomes from this change.
Having the Healthy Food for Healthy School Act means that any links with corporations would
result in minimal interactions and weaken the links they have. This can be seen as both a positive
and negative development. The positive outlook on it is that students will benefit greatly from the
healthy act as they will be encouraged to eat healthy foods and take part in an active and healthy
lifestyle. The downside is that implementing the healthy school act means putting more money
towards this section as healthier foods cost more than non healthy foods. As expenses are taken out
from other accounts, an ongoing increase of educational inequalities continues. Schools have found
themselves caught between the need to promote healthy choices and the need for

History of Medical Coding and Billing
History and Future Of Medical Coding and Billing John F. McMahon BU480, Central Methodist
University Abstract Medical coding and billing affects everyone during their lifetime and yet the
regulations of medical coding and billing are extremely complex. Examining the history, evaluation,

The ninth edition of the ICD codes were developed and pushed in a direction so that the codes
could be used for billing instead of just disease classification. (Department Health and Human
Services, 1998) Medical coding after 1976 became the standard for health care providers to set
cost and bill for procedures based on the ICD codes. The ICD codes are taken from the different
sources within patients health care record, physician notes, lab results, x rays. Procedures
performed on body parts are all taken into consideration when assessing a value for services
rendered. The fees associated with each procedure are regulated by the U.S. Department of Health
and Human Services and by state governments. Before this system of billing, physicians charged
whatever they thought was appropriate and in many instances bartered for their services.
(Department Health and Human Services, 1998) Government and insurance standards also
regulate the cost of procedures that have been identified by the coding system. The responsibility
of making sure that accurate billing takes place falls to the coder that use the ICD 9 and ICD 10

They Live By Night Essay
Genres are malleable; though they have the same key characteristics, genres change with the time
and setting. A movie can be part of more than one genre. The lines separating one genre from
another are not concrete and taking bits and pieces of genres can create a well respected movie. As
society changes, a genrechanges with it. One can observe what was once important to society and
what interested society using the genres that were popular at a specific point in history. The

Omnivore s Dilemma Vs Blue Future
The sources of food and water problems are vast. Some of the sources are using corn as an
alternative to feeding animals such as cows and pigs. As Michael Pollan states in his book, The
Omnivore s Dilemma, corn was being mass produced after world war II after there were
weapons of mass destruction with high nitrogen content that were the used as fertilizers. The
issues mentioned in The Omnivore s Dilemma and Blue Future by Maude Barlow share the
same amount of issues in water and ability of the government to regulate farming practices and
companies that are leading to these issues. Both books mention the major source of water loss as
mass production of crops and meat. I was astonished by how accurate this course was to what I
experienced. Especially after Barlow was explaining the issues with water and after we saw a
movie that depicted what people were experiencing in Kenya. I remember the struggles with
electricity and water when I was living in Ethiopia. Water was essential in that region, Egypt

The Effects Of Environmental Influence On The Environment
Does human interference benefit or hurt the environment and does human advancement necessarily
mean environmental degradation? Earth contains multiple ecosystems, from the dense forests to
the vast grasslands, the blazing hot deserts to the frigid tundra, and from the freshwaters to the
seawaters. Webster s Dictionary defines ecosystem as the complex of a community of organisms
and its environment functioning as an ecological unit . Each individual ecosystem has its own
inhabitants along with its own special environment. The inhabitants, whether it be animals or
plants, have adapted to specifically thrive in their respectful conditions. Humans, on the other hand,
can bounce around to and from different ecosystems, even if it is only for a short time.
Technological advances have empowered us to survive and thrive even in the harshest conditions.
Whenever we move from place to place, we seem to leave our mark. With technology continuing to
push the envelope and human population rising, our reach continues to grow along with our carbon
footprint. In return, our expansion may be causing nature to retreat. So how can we combat this
decline? In today s modern age, human interference may be necessary to preserve what s left of
nature because of what happens to the environment in consequence to human advancements. The
world is your oyster, figuratively or literally? As hunters and gatherers, our ancestors thrived off of
the land they lived on, and took what it gave them. Today,

Analysis Of Oedipus The King Вё Jocasta
Suicide is a desperate act that puts forward a clear yet sombre statement to their audience.
Keeping this is mind, the question arises, why do people commit suicide? In Sophocles play,
Oedipus The KingВё Jocasta who is both wife and mother to Oedipus is an excellent example of
why one might commit suicide due to two major themes. The first theme is pride and manifests
itself in Jocasta s prideful character. The second theme is prophecy and its relation to suicideis found
it Jocasta s actions after she realizes the truth. Jocasta s arrogant character and the discovery of the
prophecy s fulfilment are what drive Jocasta to suicide.
Jocasta s egotistical nature is evident throughout the play and this aspect, along with other features
of the play, are what contribute to her unruly demise. She is portrayed as an arrogant individual
through her actions and lines spoken in the play. After the messenger arrives with news of Polybus
death, Oedipus is relieved that his adopted father had died thus, unable to fulfill the prophecy.
Jocasta responds with a boastful remark stating, There. Didn t I tell you from the start (Sophocles
1064 1065). This contemptuous statement directed towards Oedipus showcases Jocasta s
personality, and is a major factor that contributes to her death. In addition to being insolent, Jocasta
portrays traits of skepticism, because she questions the prophecy that Tiresias had foretold, A
prophet? Well then, free yourself of every charge! Listen to me and

Summary Of Buchi Emecheta s Novel Kehinde
Buchi Emecheta tells of a woman s search for independence in her book Kehinde. The story
begins as Albert and Kehinde Okolo have been living in London for 18 years as a couple. When
Albert s sisters begin pressuring him to return to Nigeria, Kehinde resists the idea as their two
children have never been to Nigeriaand plus the fact that she found out that she is pregnant. But
because of Albert s insistence, she decided to get an abortion. Albert then leaves and Kehinde
remains behind to sell the house which was ordered by her husband. Later on, he calls their
children also to Nigeria. Kehinde is lonely at first but manages on her own. Eventually, she
begins to feel like a half person without Albert and so she gives up her job and departs for
Nigeria. On her arrival, she is horrified to learn that during their two year separation, Albert now
has a second wife. Kehinde decides to return to England and establish a life for herself there.
Kehinde s troubled relationship to Albert and her children are paralleled in her recollections of a
difficult childhood: Kehinde s twin was stillborn and her mother died at birth, prompting the family
to believe that she had eaten her sister. It s a story that she at first accepts, but as she becomes her
own womanshe rejects its superstitious quality. Some of the themes of the story are Feminism,
Masculinity, Patriarchy, Culture Clashes and Identity.
Kehinde relishes the freedom she has as a woman living in Britain, a freedom she knows she
would not have had in Nigeria. Emecheta makes us very aware of this when she writes, Kehinde
was aware that she could talk to her husband less formally than women like her sister. She related
to Albert as a friend, a compatriot, a confidant. (page 6) However, with her son Joshua newly
returned from Nigeria with strong patriarchal values, Kehinde s freedoms as a woman are
challenged as Joshua sees the house as his natural right as a man. However, Kehinde is unwilling
to allow her son to dominate her. She asserts: This is my house. (137) The last few pages of the
novel emerge as a power play between mother and son. In fact the last chapter, where Kehinde and
her son fight for dominance over the house is aptly named The Rebel , as Kehinde

The Shareholders Of Aspen Pharmacare Holdings Ltd
Earnings per share (also called net income per share) is a ratio that measures net income earned
per share of stock outstanding, and is the money each share of stock would receive if all of the
profits were distributed to the outstanding shares at year end. The higher the EPS, the better the
business is as an investment from a shareholders perspective. EPS could be due to an increase in
profit or a decrease in the number of shares in issue, which causes the return for each share to be
higher.
Application:
Earnings per Share serve as an indicator of a company s profitability. The EPS increased 325 cents
from 773 cents in 2013 to 1098 cents in 2014. The company s profitability increased by 42% in
2014, which is a great improvement from 2013. Profits increased from R3 514 100 000 in 2013 to
R5 005 500 000 in 2014, and this played a big role in causing the EPS to increase by 42%. The
shareholders of Aspen Pharmacare Holdings Ltd should be satisfied as the current year (2014) EPS
was higher than usual, and a higher earnings per share ratio often makes the stock price of a
company rise.

Incidents In The Life Of A Slave Girl Analysis
Cracker( person would whip slaves) , Flogging( the beating of someone with a stick or whip for
punishment), are horrible concepts that depict the laments of chattel slavery in the United States.
The gory nature of slavery depicted through most testimonies involve one of these horrific
concepts. However, the book, Incidents in the Life Of a Slave Girl , show the lesser talked about
psychological anguish Blacks would experience. In the Book we see Linda Brent (the protagonist)

The Analysis On Ephesians Prefacing The Book The Bible ...
In the ESV study bible, the authors wrote an excerpt on Ephesians prefacing the author, title, date,
background information, and a description of the ancient city of Ephesus. Relating to the author of
Ephesians all scholars believed that Paul wrote the letter, until recent times where many scholars
propose that an imitator or a follower of Paul wrote the letter. The scholars give two reasons for this
theory, the first is the letter s style does not represent Pauline thought, and the second being the
authors unfamiliarity with the recipients. In contrast, some scholars say there is ample proof of
Pauline authorship; the first reason is the letter explicitly claims to be Paul s in Ephesians 1:1 and
3:1, and the second reason subsists in more analysis of the text and that it is similar to other Pauline
texts. The final argument for Pauline authorship is the forcefulness of the author s speech
mentioned in Ephesians 4:15, and verse 25. In these two verses, the argument that the author is
unfamiliar with the audience stands debunked because the author commands of them and the
author addresses the unity they all possess. Secondly, an important historical component for
understanding the context of Ephesians is to know the date it is written and background
information of why Paul wrote the letter. Scholars suggest that Paul wrote Ephesians in 62 AD
when he was under house arrest in Rome, this conclusion comes from Paul mentioning his
imprisonment in Ephesians 3:1, 4:1, and 6:20.

Uloric Case Study Summary
Uloric (Febuxostat) is a xanthine oxidase inhibitor used to control hyperuricemia in patients with
gout. Xanthine oxidase inhibitors inhibit the activity of xanthine oxidase, an enzyme involved in
the metabolism of purines. This medication should not be used for the treatment of asymptomatic
hyperuricemia. Uloric was first FDA approved on February 13th, 2009 for chronic management
of hyperuricemia. Given that this medication is fairly new to the market, it is more expensive
then the other prescription medication in the same pharmaceutical categories, allopurinol. Uloric
comes in two strengths, 40 mg, and 100 mg tablets. Bothe the 40 mg and the 80 mg tablets costs

number of patients with severe kidney problems were studied. Patients with kidney problems have

Career Information Systems: An Overview
The best known computer based career information systems are the state based career information
delivery systems (CIDS). Serving over 9 million customers yearly at more than 20,000 sites, CIDS
operate in 48 states and provide information about occupations and educational programs within that
state (Mariani 1995 96; National Occupational Information Coordinating Committee 1996).
Although CIDS have been developed by a number of different vendors and customized for
particular audiences, they share the following core features (ibid.):
Assessment. Most CIDS now have one or more online tools that help users assess their values,
interests, skills, aptitudes, or experiences as well as the characteristics they expect from a job.
These assessments help users learn about themselves and the qualities they might prefer in a
career. A relatively new feature of CIDS, skills assessments have proven especially helpful to
experienced workers who need to find a new career.
Occupational Search. The occupational search feature allows users to match personal
characteristics with compatible job and career possibilities. Some occupational searches are based
on the results of the assessments, but, in others, the user selects and rates search variables that are
then used to generate a list of occupations. Users may also simply access an index of occupations

Planning Policies On Social Life
Planning policies on Social Life in Cities
For year s urban policy and strategy has been dominated by thinking about the physical city:
landmark architecture, transport, housing, urban development, and increasingly the technological
infrastructure to create smarter, more productive, and greener cities. Clearly social issues like
health, education, employment and public safety matter to city leaders but policy and public
services deal with people in the abstract rather than the particular, which is why so often, plans
diverge from reality in unpredictable and unintended ways. The social life of cities, in particular
the ordinary, the small scale and mundane aspects of urban life, are commonly overlooked as a
source of insight and inspiration for city planners and decision makers.
Looking at the everyday life of city streets and neighborhoods provides a perspective on cities,
social change and the radical variety of urban life, that is dramatically different to thinking about the
city as an intelligent network or transport system with predefined ideas about how people will
behave that is more of how the social planning do. Social planning is the process by which
policymakers legislators, government agencies, planners, and, often, funders try to solve
community problems or improve conditions in the community by devising and implementing
policies intended to have certain results. These policies may take the form of laws, regulations,
incentives, media campaigns,

Emperor Jimmu
Emperor Jimmu, the first Emperor of Japan, officially formed Japan in 660 Before Common Era
(BCE.) Throughout Japan s 2600 years of history, there have been many wars and conflicts fought
across Japan and the Pacific region. Through the ages, Japan has always had an Emperor at the
head of its government, although this role has changed through time. Japan saw many economic
changes, the biggest of which occurred after World War II (WWII). With Japan s history, woven in
war throughout the Pacific has become a model of strong political standing and near immeasurable
economic growth. Japanese chronicles record Jimmu s expedition heading eastward from Hyuga in
607 BCE, continuing along Japan s inland sea, subduing tribes as he went, and ending in Yamato,
where he centered his power (Jimmu Legendary Emperor of Japan, 2016.) Emperor Jimmu,
formally Jimmu Tenno, is said to be a descendent of the Sun Goddess Amaterasu. The current
Emperor of Japan, His Royal Majesty (HIM) Akihito, is a direct descendent of over 50 generations
of Jimmu s bloodline.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The IJA started with a limited number of trained troops; conscripts filled the gaps between
Officers and Soldiers. Conscription is the enrollment of persons, especially for military service,
which was similar to the Draft in the United States (Definition of Conscription, 2016). In 1872
CE, the first law concerning conscription in Japan was enacted, though the idea dates back to as
early as 645CE. While feudalism was being developed and created, there was a rapid decline of
the semi independent peasantry, and finally the complete subjugation of peasants to the Daimyo
and Samurai classes (Norman, 1977.) This subjugation led to peasants taking up arms for their
Daimyo. A peasant with a pitchfork, sword, or ax couldn t defeat a single Samurai one on one

Hr and Termination Essay
GRADE: 76% Nice discussion of how the company might work with the employee through
progressive discipline, and of how just cause dismissal could be implemented at the end of this
process. Constructive dismissal is not recommended due to the risks associated with it. Barnetson
indicates (in the study guide) that employers can lawfully terminate employment in three ways:
just cause, non culpable dismissal, and mutual consent, therefore, it would have been better to
discuss non culpable dismissal or mutual consent as your second option. See additional
comments within (in red font). NOTE: comments will not be visible from your e mail file viewer;

Atomic Number Is A Correct Answer
Atomic number, is a correct answer. Atomic number is the total number of proton of the element.
(Gilbert, 2012) It is always used to differentiate the elements since every element have their unique
atomic number. The differences of atomic number enabled elements to react with other substances
differently. For example, Neon which have atomic numberof 8, acts like an inert gas. Meanwhile
group 1 element Sodium which have atomic number of 11, reacts vigorously with water. Such
characteristic have made elements unique from each other.
Choice C. Mass number, is an incorrect answer. Mass number is the total number of protonand
neutron of the element. The unit for mass number is atomic mass unit(amu) or Dalton(Da). (Brand,
2013) The presence of isotopes might cause two elements to have the same atomic weight. For
example, the atomic weight ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This explains why elements in periodic table are not differentiated and grouped based on their
atomic weight.
Choice D. Only A and B are correct, is not a correct answer. Since atomic weight (choice A) is not
a correct answer, choice D is eliminated.
Choice E. Only A, B, C are correct, is an incorrect answer. Since atomic weight (choice A), and
mass number (choice C) are incorrect answer, choice E is eliminated.
The ability to differentiate elements through atomic numbers is helpful in real world. The elements
are grouped together in the periodic table based on the number of valence electrons which are
related to the atomic number of the element. The elements in the same group always have similar
chemical properties. Such knowledge enabled us to understand the strengths and weaknesses of the
material. In order to improve the

Turning Point In The Gospel Of John
Plot In both the Gospel of Mark and the Gospel of John, the plot develops to a turning point and
then have a resolution. The development of the plot mostly rests in Jesus s journey in gathering
his disciples. In both accounts, His discipleship starts out low key, but builds into a controversial
topic among religious leaders, and ultimately leads to His conviction and crucifixion, which is the
turning point in the plot. The resolution of the plot is where John and Mark differ. Mark simply
ends with For they were afraid after they had gone to the tomb and Jesuss body was not there.
Though there is are extended versions of John that include verses 9 20 in chapter 16 that describe
an account of Jesus s resurrection, it is debated as to whether... Show more content on

The writer of Mark emphasized heavily on how Jesus attempted to appease confusion by
speaking in parables, but no matter what Jesus seemed to do, He had a hard time getting His
point across to the disciples. A notable example of this is when Jesus feeds the five thousand
(Mark 6:30 44 New Revised Standard Version). At first, the people questioned how he was going
to feed five thousand with five loaves of bread and two fish. After every one had eaten, there
was even some food left over. After this, one would expect that if a similar situation were to
arise, such as when Jesus then feeds four thousand, that there would not be any questions raised
as to how Jesus was going to pull it off. But sure enough, His disciples asked But where in this
remote place can anyone get enough bread to feed them (Mark 8:4 New Revised Standard
Version). Unlike John, there are view instances where the disciples claim to understand or to
know the truth and who Jesus is. This is especially observed in chapter 16 of Mark. In addition to
the original manuscript ending with for they were afraid, the added verses 9 20 further promotes
the fact that disciples were still not believing the truth. Verse 11 states but when they heard that he
was alive and had been seen by her, they would not believe. Verse 13 states in part they did not
believe them. Verse 14 states

Melanie Green s Recovery Case Study
According to the introduction of LeCory and Hoschuh (2012), there are eight core themes that
emerge in first person accounts on their road to recovery, some of these themes coincide with
the personal accounts of the women who were coping with their BPD. The themes of recovery
that are most prominent in these cases are the reawakening of hope after despair, finding a
purpose and actively participating in life, while also moving past viewing themselves as their
psychiatric disorder. Once again, the theme of the journey to recovery is complex and nonlinear is
explored, as well as the theme of recovery is not accomplished alone, but with support and
partnerships in one s life. (LeCroy Hoschuh, 2012). The theme of reawakening of hope after despair

Green herself was misjudged with the stigma of just doing it for attention (Green, 2005) by a
psychiatrist in regards to her self injuring tendencies, however, she found a supportive nurse
practitioner who understood her mental disorder and found her a medication regimen that
helped her to manage her symptoms and allowed her to function. Having someone who
understands BPD beyond its stigma shows to be very beneficial to the recovery process,
especially in seeking help, Green also mentioned she found another woman who was going
through the feelings she was experiencing, they helped each other in crisis and were there for
each other, even to the day she wrote her piece (Green, 2005). Finally, Green mentions the
significant role her family played in her recovery, how her mother researched everything about her
mental illness, the details of her daughter s diagnosis and her medication (2005). Furthermore, the
rest of Green s family was said to have done everything they could to stand by her and encouraged
her to regain her strength (Green, 2005). She expresses her sentiment towards her family s support,
writing I never understood the value of family until I saw what they all went through for me. (Green,

  • 2. Textual Analysis Of The Movie Bye Birdie In the beginning of the film the audience is first welcome with Rose Perez (Tina) dancing against the back drop of Brooklyn brownstone stairs. This is supported by the film theme song Fight the Power by Public enemy which is heard blaring in the background while the character is dancing. The tone of the song seems quite aggressive if not rebellious, this was due to the fact that the song was going to be used as a leitmotif throughout the filmsimilar to other films like Indian jones (Steven Spielberg) and even under the skin (Jonathan Glazer). It was said that Spike Lee gained his stylistic inspiration from films Bye Bye birdie (George Birdie) and apparently the opening from the Cosby Show. • 3. Definition Of Self Regulation Assignment Self regulation Assignment Manjunath Bhat McMaster University Under the principle of universality, the standardization of nursing care across the country is important to maintain inter professional equality and compatibility. This can be achieved by regulating nursing practice through inter professional collaboration, communication, professional conduct, accountability and mutual respect (Benton, GonzГЎlez Jurado Beneit Montesinos, 2013). Self regulation assignment is a tool developed by College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) to promote safe, competent and ethical nursing care in Ontario. It will assist nurses with professional practice and help them understand the expectation of entry level practice. It will also ensure that nurses are able to demonstrate the competencies through Quality Assurance (QA) program (Colleges of Nurses of Ontario, 2014a). The College regulates the nursing practice through the quality assurance program which has two parts: self assessment and practice assessment. The purpose of self assessment is to identify learning needs and develop a learning plan using SMART goals (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Reliable and Time bound) to meet those learning needs. Through the practice assessment, CNO regulates the nursing practice by selecting few nurses to participate in the assessment every year. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Given the changes you want, I think we ought to define the word component. Jeff:Good question. You have to think about how we buy and upgrade. Sometimes we buy a complete system with CPU, monitor, mouse, keyboard the works in one package. Anna:If you buy it as one unit, do you get all the detailed component information and enter it to the columns? Jeff:No, because if we bought it as a unit we let the vendor service it as a unit under warranty. In those cases a complete system would be a single component. But then later we upgrade a hard drive, add RAM, replace something, etc. A replacement NIC can be a separate component. Anna:I know we custom build some PCs. What about them? Jeff:A PC that we build from individual parts is all components. Anna:So, if everything is a component, is there any information that pertains to the PC in general? Jeff:Yes. First of all, this PC Configuration Sheet doesn t show it, but we need to track whether we are talking about a PC, a printer, a router, a hub or some other kind of technology equipment. After the break in at the Democratic National Committee at the Westgate offices, there was a remarkable series of rotten underbelly in the Nixon s administration. Because of the unlawful approach used by this administration to thwart those who were critical of Nixon s administration, human rights groups and political activities embarked on demanding for explanation and resignation of the president. • 12. The Lottery Offers A Wonderful Opportunity The lottery offers a wonderful opportunity to possibly win millions of dollars. While this might seems amazing, it might not be as wonderful as imagined. In fact, maybe even the opposite might true as stated by numerous studies and research done since the 1970s. Lotteries have been reported to have possibly started all the way back in the Han Dynasty early 200 B.C. The first official record of a public lotterywas in 1434 from the Dutch town of Sluis. The original idea of the lottery was to help the lower class and fortify townships. It was not until the 1600s when the more modern form of the lottery came about. Where one would buy a ticket for a small amount with the possibility to win a big cash purse. Later, around 1890 much scrutiny and distrust surrounded the lottery which eventually led to the United States stopping sales of tickets and made lotteries illegal. This was in effect until after World War II and the iconic modern lotteries started to come back into everyday lives. At first it was just separate state lotteries, but eventually in late 80s and early 90s interstate lotteries emerged which include the famous Mega Million, originally named The Big Game, and Powerball. Some of the success for the recent lotteries goes to the more credible system of checking and organizing tickets called the Marksense system. The allure of the lottery is for a small charge, usually $1 or $2, there is the possibility of winning millions. While the large majority of those who buy ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 13. The Flaws Of State Led Humanitarianism Since the turn of the century, the world has experienced various events that have rendered millions homeless, starving or even without a country. Such events may range from merciless persecution by a ruthless dictator to a furious tsunami that leaves destruction in its wake. In such incidents, it is human nature to help those affected rebuild their lives and find comfort again. As a result, governments spend billions on foreign aid projects aimed at helping populations rebuild themselves after a tragic event. Despite the funding and resources spent on these projects, their success rate is dismal. Coyne s book explains the flaws of state led humanitarianism. Using case studies that range from Afghanistan to Haiti, Coyne successfully argues against state aid proving that continuing with that approach is likely to remain unsuccessful. He further demonstrates that state aid fails to fulfill its mandate because the parties involved are either too arrogant or ignorant to acknowledge fundamental flaws of state led aid. He says that the influence of agenda driven opinions of blurs the objectives of financial assistance from the beginning. Since governments focus on what they should, rather than what they can do, the goals of the most aid funded projects in affected nations remain unrealized. In my opinion, Coyne s work is very convincing because it methodically shows how aid moves from a state agency to the project in question and the various parties in the middle that take away ... • 14. How Did Woodrow Wilson Become Conservative New Nationalism In 1907, major firms in the stock market declared bankruptcy, leading to an event called the Panic of 1907. This caused a recession, or a decline in spending and employment. Many business leaders blamed this financial crisis on the Progressive reforms of Roosevelt. The economy recovered by 1909, casting some doubt on these previous accusations. However, Roosevelt lost the nomination for a third term and left the presidency in 1909. William Howard Taft, Roosevelt s successor, became the next president, but he angered many progressive Republicans by not being firm enough in controlling big business. As a result, a progressive faction, or offshoot, formed in the Republican Party. This development created tension between progressives ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In response, Congress passed the Underwood Tariff Act in 1913. This act lowered the average rates of tariffs from 40 percent to 25 percent. The law also removed tariffs entirely from certain goods such as sugar, wool, iron ore, and steel. This allowed the prices of those imported goods to compete with similar products of American producers, which benefited American consumers. Banking Wilson also argued for an extensive reform of banking and currency laws. He thought that the banking system needed to run more efficiently to enhance businesses. To accomplish this, Wilson supported the establishment of a nationwide centralized banking system. He also believed that a new federal currency was needed to assist the flow of money. Six months later, Congress passed the Federal Reserve Act of 1913, which formed a national banking and currency system similar to the one Wilson supported. Twelve Federal Reserve Banks were created with the authority to issue Federal Bank Notes, the official U.S. currency, to nationally chartered private banks. Those banks were able to borrow the money at a fixed interest rate. The rate did not rise during the period when the loan was repaid. This kept the banking system ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Agatha Christie s Witness for the Prosecution Essay This paper will present a compare and contrast of the short story, Witness for the Prosecution to the screenplay of the same name written by Agatha Christie. The focus of the similarities and differences will be, a review of the characters and the story. In both versions there are both likable and unlikable characters that create a gripping tale where you find yourself hoping young Leonard Vole will beat the overwhelming odds stacked against him. Vole has been accused of murdering the late Mrs. Finch and in both he is represented by the defense attorney, Mr. Mayherne (changed later in the screenplay to Mayhew). Leonard, the accused, Mayherne the defense lawyer, Romaine the wife of the accused, the deceased Mrs. Finch and her maid Janet MacKenzie all play chief rolls in Christie s creation; however, it is Sir Robarts who is the most notable addition. While the characters, are mostly the same, with the addition of some others, their parts in the story differ as much as does the ending of both. Leonard again is the accused, and Mayherne his defense, but Mayherne acts as a bit of a detective in the story and does little in the way of sleuthing in the play. The old woman, Mrs. Finch, while saved from a speeding bus by Loenard in both accounts, is later reunited with her savior at a party in the short story and in the play she finds him at the theater. None of this really impacts either story because in both instances her only purpose for being in the story is so she can fulfill the role in the classic style of all who done its by being the one who gets bludgeoned to death. In both cases, Leonard s wife plays the evil woman out to do in her husband and lie about his whereabouts the night of the murder. Mayherne interviews Romaine at her home in the original, but in the play she meets Mayherne and Sir Robarts at their office early in the play. In these accounts the banshee is simply a ghoul, not a sign of misfortune. Some descriptions are from South Dakota. These say that the banshee was known to wail on a hill near Watch Dog Butte. This version of the legend also doesn t relate her to any foreshadowing of death. There are different chronicles of the banshee coming from other Celtic cultures. There are other reasons that transgender troops aren t a good idea that has nothing to do with a moral leaning. They are as follows: Mental Health Issues: The military has strict restrictions on admittance based upon mental health. Growing up, my family drove to Louisiana at least twice a year to visit my father s college hometown of Lake Charles, and every time, regardless of how hectic our schedules were, my sister and I would convince our parents to drive the extra couple of hours to what we considered the epitome of all things wonderful New Orleans. During these visits, I sought to immerse myself in the vibrant and completely unique culture of the city. From walking through the French Quarter to shoveling jambalaya into my mouth, New Orleans provided me with an escape from the mundane small town life that I was accustomed to. Plenty of jambalaya bowls later, I realized that the opportunity for me to attend one of the most prestigious universities in the nation while living in a richly cultured city rested solely in my hands. The ICD codes are taken from the different sources within patients health care record, physician notes, lab results, x rays. Keeping this is mind, the question arises, why do people commit suicide? In Sophocles play, Oedipus The KingВё Jocasta who is both wife and mother to Oedipus is an excellent example of why one might commit suicide due to two major themes. The first theme is pride and manifests itself in Jocasta s prideful character. The second theme is prophecy and its relation to suicideis found it Jocasta s actions after she realizes the truth. Jocasta s arrogant character and the discovery of the prophecy s fulfilment are what drive Jocasta to suicide. Jocasta s egotistical nature is evident throughout the play and this aspect, along with other features of the play, are what contribute to her unruly demise. She is portrayed as an arrogant individual through her actions and lines spoken in the play. Jocasta responds with a boastful remark stating, There. Didn t I tell you from the start (Sophocles 1064 1065). This contemptuous statement directed towards Oedipus showcases Jocasta s personality, and is a major factor that contributes to her death. Some of the themes of the story are Feminism, Masculinity, Patriarchy, Culture Clashes and Identity. In the ESV study bible, the authors wrote an excerpt on Ephesians prefacing the author, title, date, background information, and a description of the ancient city of Ephesus. Relating to the author of Ephesians all scholars believed that Paul wrote the letter, until recent times where many scholars propose that an imitator or a follower of Paul wrote the letter. The scholars give two reasons for this theory, the first is the letter s style does not represent Pauline thought, and the second being the authors unfamiliarity with the recipients. In contrast, some scholars say there is ample proof of Pauline authorship; the first reason is the letter explicitly claims to be Paul s in Ephesians 1:1 and 3:1, and the second reason subsists in more analysis of the text and that it is similar to other Pauline texts. The final argument for Pauline authorship is the forcefulness of the author s speech mentioned in Ephesians 4:15, and verse 25. In these two verses, the argument that the author is unfamiliar with the audience stands debunked because the author commands of them and the author addresses the unity they all possess. Secondly, an important historical component for understanding the context of Ephesians is to know the date it is written and background information of why Paul wrote the letter. Scholars suggest that Paul wrote Ephesians in 62 AD when he was under house arrest in Rome, this conclusion comes from Paul mentioning his imprisonment in Ephesians 3:1, 4:1, and 6:20. ... Although CIDS have been developed by a number of different vendors and customized for particular audiences, they share the following core features (ibid.): Assessment. Most CIDS now have one or more online tools that help users assess their values, interests, skills, aptitudes, or experiences as well as the characteristics they expect from a job. These assessments help users learn about themselves and the qualities they might prefer in a career. A relatively new feature of CIDS, skills assessments have proven especially helpful to experienced workers who need to find a new career. Occupational Search. The occupational search feature allows users to match personal characteristics with compatible job and career possibilities. • 45. Planning Policies On Social Life Planning policies on Social Life in Cities For year s urban policy and strategy has been dominated by thinking about the physical city: landmark architecture, transport, housing, urban development, and increasingly the technological infrastructure to create smarter, more productive, and greener cities. Clearly social issues like health, education, employment and public safety matter to city leaders but policy and public services deal with people in the abstract rather than the particular, which is why so often, plans diverge from reality in unpredictable and unintended ways. The social life of cities, in particular the ordinary, the small scale and mundane aspects of urban life, are commonly overlooked as a source of insight and inspiration for city planners and decision makers. Looking at the everyday life of city streets and neighborhoods provides a perspective on cities, social change and the radical variety of urban life, that is dramatically different to thinking about the city as an intelligent network or transport system with predefined ideas about how people will behave that is more of how the social planning do. Throughout Japan s 2600 years of history, there have been many wars and conflicts fought across Japan and the Pacific region. Through the ages, Japan has always had an Emperor at the head of its government, although this role has changed through time. Japan saw many economic changes, the biggest of which occurred after World War II (WWII). With Japan s history, woven in war throughout the Pacific has become a model of strong political standing and near immeasurable economic growth. Japanese chronicles record Jimmu s expedition heading eastward from Hyuga in 607 BCE, continuing along Japan s inland sea, subduing tribes as he went, and ending in Yamato, where he centered his power (Jimmu Legendary Emperor of Japan, 2016.) Emperor Jimmu, formally Jimmu Tenno, is said to be a descendent of the Sun Goddess Amaterasu. • 49. Atomic Number Is A Correct Answer Atomic number, is a correct answer. Atomic number is the total number of proton of the element. (Gilbert, 2012) It is always used to differentiate the elements since every element have their unique atomic number. The differences of atomic number enabled elements to react with other substances differently. For example, Neon which have atomic numberof 8, acts like an inert gas. Meanwhile group 1 element Sodium which have atomic number of 11, reacts vigorously with water. Such characteristic have made elements unique from each other. Choice C. Mass number, is an incorrect answer. Mass number is the total number of protonand neutron of the element. The unit for mass number is atomic mass unit(amu) or Dalton(Da). • 50. Turning Point In The Gospel Of John Plot In both the Gospel of Mark and the Gospel of John, the plot develops to a turning point and then have a resolution. The development of the plot mostly rests in Jesus s journey in gathering his disciples. In both accounts, His discipleship starts out low key, but builds into a controversial topic among religious leaders, and ultimately leads to His conviction and crucifixion, which is the turning point in the plot. The resolution of the plot is where John and Mark differ. Mark simply ends with For they were afraid after they had gone to the tomb and Jesuss body was not there. Though there is are extended versions of John that include verses 9 20 in chapter 16 that describe an account of Jesus s resurrection, it is debated as to whether... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The writer of Mark emphasized heavily on how Jesus attempted to appease confusion by speaking in parables, but no matter what Jesus seemed to do, He had a hard time getting His point across to the disciples. A notable example of this is when Jesus feeds the five thousand (Mark 6:30 44 New Revised Standard Version). At first, the people questioned how he was going to feed five thousand with five loaves of bread and two fish. After every one had eaten, there was even some food left over. After this, one would expect that if a similar situation were to arise, such as when Jesus then feeds four thousand, that there would not be any questions raised as to how Jesus was going to pull it off. But sure enough, His disciples asked But where in this remote place can anyone get enough bread to feed them (Mark 8:4 New Revised Standard Version). Unlike John, there are view instances where the disciples claim to understand or to know the truth and who Jesus is. This is especially observed in chapter 16 of Mark. In addition to the original manuscript ending with for they were afraid, the added verses 9 20 further promotes the fact that disciples were still not believing the truth. Melanie Green s Recovery Case Study According to the introduction of LeCory and Hoschuh (2012), there are eight core themes that emerge in first person accounts on their road to recovery, some of these themes coincide with the personal accounts of the women who were coping with their BPD. The themes of recovery that are most prominent in these cases are the reawakening of hope after despair, finding a purpose and actively participating in life, while also moving past viewing themselves as their psychiatric disorder. Once again, the theme of the journey to recovery is complex and nonlinear is explored, as well as the theme of recovery is not accomplished alone, but with support and partnerships in one s life. Having someone who understands BPD beyond its stigma shows to be very beneficial to the recovery process, especially in seeking help, Green also mentioned she found another woman who was going through the feelings she was experiencing, they helped each other in crisis and were there for each other, even to the day she wrote her piece (Green, 2005). Finally, Green mentions the significant role her family played in her recovery, how her mother researched everything about her mental illness, the details of her daughter s diagnosis and her medication (2005).
