Analysis of Atwater and Waldman´s Leadership, Feedback,...
Leadership is an important attribute in individuals such as managers, academic experts, and
researchers. The topic of leadership continues to gain popularity and importance in almost all sectors.
The way leaders in managerial positions communicate determines their effectiveness and success in
achieving high levels of performance and success in their organizations. There are numerous books
that provide an insight into effective leadership and communication. One of such books is by Atwater
and Waldman (2012). This paper provides a summary, contextual analysis and critique of the book.

5). It also extensively focuses on open communication, which is applicable in numerous fields,
including human resource management and organizational behavior, organizational leadership, and
organizational communication (Atwater Waldman, 2012, pp. 62). The book explicitly explains some
of the major areas that are usually difficult to or less understood in leadership. For instance, it outlines
concepts such as sending and receiving feedback during open communication (Atwater Waldman,
2012, pp. 14). This is a topic in leadership that is regarded as multifarious and difficult to understand,
as it causes exigent dilemmas even at managerial level. The book supports its arguments by citing
evidence based research, case examples, ideas, and practical suggestions. By doing so, it equips
current and future leaders with the necessary tools for preventing communication problems and
solving leadership dilemmas in their organizations. The book, based on its well supported content and
arguments, can be termed as a vital literary work that explains the concept of leadership in many
contexts. The book proceeds to support its arguments and suggestions on leadership with evidence
drawn from relevant psychological theories (Atwater Waldman, 2012, pp. 101). The book provides an
excellent and well researched review and discussion of the key characteristics of open communication.
The characteristics are critical in leadership as managers use them to ensure that all feedback,

Racial Inequalities And Racial Inequality
Since America s beginning, race based barriers have mired the fulfillment of our shared principles and
many of these barriers still persist today. The institutionalized inequalities are detrimental on an
individual basis as well a societal basis. Racism does not only affect the individuals that are being
oppressed but also how society functions as a whole. Racial inequalities have manifested in American
society in ways that underlies a wide range of societal domains such as housing patterns, educational
opportunities, healthcare inequality, and incarceration rates. Current events and experiences
demonstrate moreover that racial inequality is still adamant in the American culture. Long after
slavery, the Jim Crow Era, and the civil rights movement, racial inequality has taken distinctive forms
which affect many people within a racially oppressed group. Racial segregation at large is embedded
within a structural matrix that not only permeates in the American culture but in our private and public
institutions. Disparities in the criminal justice system and housing patterns remain a key barrier to
racial equality in America. In order to eradicate racial inequality, there needs to be policy solutions
that place fundamental changes to a system with profound historical origins, one that structurally
disadvantages minority groups. The criminal justice system s high volume of contact with people of
color is a major cause of broader perceptions of injustice in many communities.

Operant Vs. Operant Conditioning
Operant Learning Model Operant conditioning is best described as the process that attempts to modify
behavior through the use of positive and negative reinforcement. During this process the subject you
are working with either animal or human learns to perform a specific task, through the use of positive
or negative reinforcement (Chance, 2014). This model is best suited for teaching Ben the appropriate
behavior as it relates to stealing. Operant conditioning will be used to teach Ben not to steal; this will
be supported by the use of positive reinforcers. In order for this to be effective Ben should be placed
on a continuous reinforcement schedule; consisting of positive reinforcements. These should be age
appropriate; these reinforcers are verbal praise and 30 minutes of television (Cartoon Network); this
will be rewarded only if he does not engage in stealing. No forms of punishment will be used on Ben;
although punishment has an immediate effect it does not teach a lesson. With operant learning Ben
will learn to decrease his negative behavior and engage in positive actions.
Aggression with Spanking By nature children are naturally inclined to mock or imitate things that
within their environment. This why parents and or caregivers must be careful what we do and expose
children to. This is no different when it comes to learning and or discipline. Punishment creates fear,
aggression and most importantly the punished behavior is never forgotten; it lays dormant and has

regioisomeric 1 acyl 3 alkylindoles can be prepared directly from a common set of precursor materials
and using similar synthetic strategies. The EI mass spectra for these isomers show a number of unique
ions which allow for the differentiation of the 1 alkyl 3 acylindole compounds from the inverse
regioisomeric 1 acyl 3 alkylindoles. The base peak at m/z 214 in the 1 n pentyl 3 benzoylindole
represents the M 77 cation fragment resulting from the loss of the phenyl group and this ion is not
observed in the inverse isomer. The 1 benzoyl 3 n pentylindole inverse regioisomer shows a base peak
at m/z 105 for the benzoyl cation. Thus, these two base peaks are the result of fragmentation initiated
at the carbonyl oxygen for both isomers. The 1 pentyl 3 benzoylindole is characterized by the strong
intensity carbonyl band at 1703 cm 1 while the amide carbonyl appears as a strong band of equal
intensity at 1681 cm 1 in the 1 benzoyl 3 pentyl regioisomer. 1. Introduction A number of synthetic

In order to be eligible for the study, children must have attended TOP for at least eight continuous
months the year prior to entering kindergarten. Once parents of children who were still attending a
TOP preschool signed consent forms, the first cohort of children were chosen. The overall
participation rate was 99% (out of 114 eligible children, 113 parents consented). Unfortunately, as
with the majority of longitudinal studies, a handful of students either moved or relocated. Attrition
occurred as a result of students leaving, and resulted in a reduction in the number of participants

Personal Progression of Public Speaking Essay
In life, we rarely have the chance for a do over, but I feel like returning to college is mine. Throughout
high school, my grades were never above average and until about a couple of years ago I considered
myself to be unintelligent. What I failed to see was my level of commitment. Once I began applying
myself, the grades earned reflected that. This concept coincides to my public speaking ability. Many
students, including myself, walk into a speech class thinking that it will be the Easy A of the semester
and quite frankly I devoted a good amount of time and hard work to earn my A s and B s for this
course. Overall, my public speaking growth in terms of listenability were influenced by the following:

The art speech was not necessarily my best moment when it came to audience analysis. I should have
followed through with making the speech less about the assignment and more about who I was
presenting it to. The dragon and persuasive speech probably would have been better had I not had so
much information, I really saw how it affected the way I looked as far as confidence was concerned.
Looking at my personal anecdote speech I think that was my shining moment. I am not only saying
that because of the grade I received, but because I owned the material and it showed. As far as
maintaining ethos, I would have to say that was during my informative speech. I felt like I knew what
I was talking about in the dragon speech more at the Q A than during the speech, but during my energy
drink presentation I really had the material down. During the self evaluations I know that I properly
analyze what I did wrong, though I am not sure I was able to fix everything I set out to. Strategically
speaking, I have a ways to go with choosing a topic, learning how to control my nervous energy, and
to avoid excluding my audience should investigate more efficiently.
Structure is casually called the bones of the speech. I thought I already had understood structure, but
when it came to public speaking I struggled by thinking of the speeches in a literary sense rather than
as a conversation. My dialog started flowing

9. Deepa Mehta is critical of popular culture that represents India as either a begging bowl or spiritual
wonderland, yet some critics have said that she does the same thing in her films. From what you know
of her films, in what ways could Mehta be seen as guilty of representing only a begging bowl or
spiritual wonderland version of India?
Deepa Mehta s films show India the way she believes depicts the true India, and not the India that
westerners believe is a begging bowl or a spiritual wonderland. Although she attempts to create films
that do not show India for those two conceptions, in her films it is clear that these conceptions are
somewhat relevant in India. Although her films show these aspects, she does not dwell on them as
negatives or conclude that this is all India has to offer, as some films that are westernized tend to do.

Essay about Biography of Patrick Henry
Biography of Patrick Henry
Is life so dear or peace so sweet as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery? These noble,
forthright words were spoken by a fiery young patriot and great orator who had dedicated his life to
the goal of winning rights for the people of America.
Patrick Henry was born on May 29 of the year 1736 in Studley, Hanover County, Virginia. He grew up
in a Presbyterian believing home, Patrick s father, John Henry, was a Scott, who taught Patrick most of
his schooling until he was about fifteen.
As Patrick grew up, people found him to be a charming, bright young boy with a gentle, sweet spirit

There he met a girl named Sarah Shelton. They spent a lot of time together that year and in the
summer of 1754, they got married. Their dowry was a lovely little homestead with a few acres. With
only a few slaves and himself, they soon found that it was not enough to live on with a brand new
baby boy. Then, one dry summer, their little home was burnt to the ground by a brush fire. This
devastating occurrence left the young Henry family completely broke and homeless, and all they had
left was themselves and their slaves. They then moved into the second story of the Shelton s house
until Patrick could find another job. Sarah was not well after this devastation, and she was taken care
of by her family when Patrick was away. Patrick first went to the closest large town to look for a
friend of his, Thomas Jefferson. Patrick knocked at the door of the office, was invited in, and for a
moment could not find where the speaker was from all the books surrounding the walls, covering the
floors and cluttered on the desk. Jefferson was surprised yet not unhappy that Patrick had come to visit
him and inquired what he had come for. I have come to ask what I must do to become a lawyer, was

Team Process Of A Team
Team Process: When becoming a part of a team, at the beginning of this semester, I never imagined
how much teamwork and communication was needed to get even an entry level project done in a
team. One of the best traits of my team was our excellent use of coordination. Coordination helped us
stay organized, as well as made each team member more effective. We never missed a team meeting,
and always completed our assigned work on time. The Gantt chart we created towards the beginning
of our project, helped each member stay organized, so no one member took on a larger share of work
than assigned to. As well as staying organized, we worked well as a team, and I believe we all
respected each others abilities to complete our own tasks. The reason we were able to function so well,
was because only the facilitator had the desire to lead. There were no power struggle and
confrontations. There were never conflicting ideas in the team, we all accepted what we had to do and
let one person take charge. However, that doesn t mean, we didn t put in a lot work. We worked hard
to complete our project; it only shows that we were able to work well, when given the task of turning
design ideas into reality. As an engineer, you will not have total freedom of concept, design and build.
You might have one task, or many, but there could be many people working on a project and you will

The Current Pressurized Oxygen Tension Based Indices Response
In this thesis, I have attempted to further explore the nature of the current utilised oxygen tension
based indices response, with a view to its use as a tool to assess the pulmonary oxygenation in
critically ill patients. Furthermore, this thesis developed a new index to assess pulmonary
oxygenation. This topic was explored with external pulmonary factors to quantify oxygenation defect
through a maze of mathematics, different diseases, and pathophysiology. There was one or two ways
that could lead us to the answer and many dead end routes. Ultimately, the research produced an
equation that was more robust than the PaO2/FiO2 ratio in terms of less variation. The first chapter
described two different types of oxygen indices and its use. The second chapter described the medical
simulator in general and the Nottingham Physiology Simulator (NPS) in particular. In chapter three,
we examined the variation of certain oxygen indices with changes in the following external
physiological factors (FIO2, Hb, RQ, and VO2) without changing the pulmonary configuration status.
This investigation was done with ARDS simulated patients using a validated NPS model. The study
demonstrates that the external physiological factors induced a remarkable variation in comparing to
oxygen indices, and the use of each index depends on the type of the external physiological factors.
However, we conclude that clinicians should be aware of using the best index according to patient s
status. Accordingly,

The Problem Of Computer Network Security
Introduction
Computer network security has never been as critical as it is today. The news is littered with the
widespread incidents of hacking and cyber theft in the financial, entertainment, and retail industries,
and more recently in our military. A recent survey, conducted by Kaspersky Lab, a leader in endpoint
protection solutions, found that 94% of all companies surveyed experienced a cyber security issue
(Kaspersky Lab, 2014). Furthermore, a recent study has found that the average cost of a data breach to
a company was $3.5 million, a 15% increase from the previous year (Ponemon Institute, 2014). In this
day and age, the cost of a data breach, not only to a company s bottom line, but to their reputation,
would be extensive.
Statement of the Problem
Recently, Acme Corporation experienced a network compromise which resulted in the possible
compromise of the personally identifiable information (PII) of their employees and clients. As a start
up company, many technological issues were overlooked in the interest of getting the business off the
ground. Significant emphasis was placed on acquiring the most up to date and cutting edge hardware
and software, unfortunately, only mediocre consideration was placed on network security. This report
will examine the factors that contributed to vulnerability and will identify the solutions that must be
undertaken to secure the company network and protect it against future cyber attacks.

The And Social Context Of Europe During A Post World War...
What is the role of consumerism in The Visit?
This piece is a direct examination of consumerism. On a broader scheme, The Visit surveys the social
context of Europe in a Post World War II environment. Like many play writers, Durrenmatt
demonstrates that his play, like all cultural manifestations, is a product of the socioeconomic and
hence ideological conditions of the time and place in which it was written, whether or not the author
intended it so. Because human beings are themselves products of their socioeconomic and ideological
environment, it is assumed that authors cannot help but create works that embody ideology of some
form. (Tyson 66). The consequential setting was one of reconstruction of the nation state through

This encircling social framework of materialism and yield is insightful of the drama s thematic
significance. It is also demonstrative of the perspective that administrates the development and
expansion of all cultures and the persons within it. The townspeople slowly begin to accept the idea of
consumerism and are depicted wearing new shoes. The possibility of so much capital seduces the
town people into procuring services via credit, overlooking the penalties that may follow. Claire
knows that, eventually, the townspeople will advance her plan for vengeance because of their present
economic crisis and their desire for wealth.
Who is commodified and how?
Commodify can be defined as the ability to treat something that cannot be owned or that everyone has
a right to like a product that can be bought and sold. Furthmore, many Marxist insights into human
behavior involve the damaging effects of capitalism on human psychology, and those damaging
effects often appear in our relationship to the commodity. For Marxism, a commdity s value lies not in
what it can do (use value) but in the money or other commodities for which it can be traded (exchange
value) or in the social status it confers on its owner (sign exchange value) (Tyson 62). In The Visit,
Claire commodifies sex as an item that can be purchased. Claire, herself, was also commodified when
she agreed to marry an old Armenian millionaire. The millionaire s

A Career As A Career In The Music Industry
The process to become a professional singer would have to start when you re young, because it takes
time to actually learn music and to build your voice. Most cited researches I have looked up reported
that many professional singers today usually have begin their training of practicing who they are at a
young age. Singing opportunities can come from anywhere, such as being in a play at school. It s
important for singers to develop a variety of styles. It s good to know more than one type of music
now and days for a better position in the music industry. For instance both popular and classical styles
should be considered because employment opportunities exist in each. To get better results for your
outcome most people would consider enrolling in a formal training program. Once you ve reached
your unique voice, continue the process and look for professional singing opportunities. To get taken
seriously you should build up your professional representation and perform as much as possible.
Musicians typically advance in their careers by seeking an audience for their craft. While performance
opportunities may be offered all over the country, it s noted that many musicians relocate to hub cities
for the entertainment industry like New York, Los Angeles, Nashville or Chicago. These states are
typically where you would find a famous singer or musicians that you can reflect on and learn from in
your experience of making your career a success. For me after this step would be to go to either
University of Houston or Juilliard. Colleges and universities may offer numerous performing
opportunities. In addition to choral ensembles and formal recitals and shows, performing in placing
that will allow you to sing or local singing opportunities may be beneficial for a beginner. Singers can
audition for concerts and theatrical performances to build their vocal skills. Make sure to take
advantage of school opportunities as while. Many schools with music and vocal degree programs have

The Importance Of Voter Participation In Canada
Elections are the most vital mechanism for a democracy since it is the role of the citizens to elect the
representatives of their government. As one of the most established democracies, Canada had been
experiencing decreasing participation in its elections. In 2008, voter turnout in Canada hit its lowest
point at an average of 58.8%, keeping in mind that the average voter turnout in Canada has been
70.7% (Canada, 2017). Even though there may not be one coherent explanation, there are a few
predictors that could justify the decline in Canada s voter turnout. Firstly, political interest is essential
in motivating citizens to participate in politics, and the least informed citizens are the less motivated
they are to participate. Secondly, personal barriers such as age, gender, race, language and socio
economic status play a major role as a determinant for the participation in elections. Finally, Canada s
current electoral process the system in which citizens use to cast their votes is a factor that may deter
participants from voting because of its cited weaknesses. For instance, the current system has brought
into question its lack of democracy and representation. Therefore, while participation in federal
elections is essential to a functioning democracy, there has been a decline in voter turnout due to lack
of political interest, personal barriers, and the electoral process.
Political interest is a highly important motivator for the participation in federal elections.

Liberty And Justice For All
Liberty and Justice for All?
Behind this mask there is more than just flesh. Beneath this mask there is an idea... and ideas are
bulletproof. V (1988). An inspiring and truthful quote on the sheer immorality of a mindset and ideals.
While this quote is meant to speak for the good and righteous things humans stand for to protect their
liberties and freedoms , this quote brings to light a sad and dark truth. That creeds of hate, creeds that
are only satisfied by the degradation of thy neighbor and implosion of any societal progress humanity
has made since The Emancipation Proclamation outlawed slavery in the US in 1865, will never be
destroyed or ever truly broken down. These criminal unnatural acts against humanity, performed by
both notorious hate groups and everyday citizens, have been tearing at the moral and social fiber of
this once proud nation for years. If the federal government does not intervene and take a far more

What Three Statements From The
I. What three statements from Lk 1:1 4 apply to Acts as well and help to explain what Acts contains?
A. Luke informs the reader of three things. First, reliable traditions about Jesus and the early Christian
movement have been handed down by eyewitnesses.
B. Second, Luke has made careful investigation of these experiences and reports.
C. Third, he dedicates his work to the reader s knowledge and growth in the Christian faith. These
three statements apply not only to Luke but to Acts as well. They help account for the plausibility,
careful reporting, and theological sensitivity of the book.
II. Briefly discuss Acts historical and theological significance.
A. Acts is distinguished on two counts: its historical vale and its theological insight. Historically, Acts
mentions over thirty countries, more than fifty towns or cities, numerous islands, and nearly one
hundred persons, about sixty of whom are not mentioned elsewhere in the New Testament.
B. Luke wrote with historical interest, but his topics were of theological importance. They include:
world mission, the providence of God, the Power of the Spirit, restored Israel, inclusive gospel, the
Gospel s Triumph.
C. Theologically, Luke does not set out to write a systematic account of early church teaching. Yet, in
powerful fashion he narrates the development, discussion, and at the time dissension surrounding the
spread of early preaching about Jesus Christ.
D. Particularly in Acts speeches and sermons, to the audience of

A Summary Of King Martin XII. 5
King Martin XII.5 was a significant man with an extraordinarily elongated neck. He is the king of
Martinsville. Martinsville is very grubby and musty. It is very dull and unappetizing to live in. The
citizens live in appalling, congested homes that are dirt filling with thousands of rats living side by
side with the humans. The citizens also are mistreated on a daily basis. Unfortunately, King Martin
XII.5 s extraordinary neck turns him into a malevolent king who abuses his power and ruins his
citizens lives. King Martin XII.5 s neck is 12 ½ feet long. Many people died daily from the abusing
from King Martin XII.5´s neck by getting swept off the ground with King Martin XII.5 s neck so high
that they fall to their death.
The citizens of Martinsville are exhausted of the abusing of King Martin XII.5, however, they are too
afraid to ask Josiah, the wisest guy in the universe, to help kill King Martin XII.5. They are afraid to
ask because if you ask Josiah a simple minded question then you ll be killed. The citizens work up the
boldness to ask Josiah to help kill King Martin XII.5. They ask very courteously and try to persuade
Josiah to help them. Josiah is very stubborn and if he doesn t want to help someone, he won´t help
them, nothing will change his mind.

2 Evidence of Momentum Effect
The following presents the studies examined on the momentum effect in several markets. The markets
have been divided into the United States market, European market, Asian market, and emerging
market.
2.1 Portfolio formation
The most commonly used method in the literature to investigate the existence of momentum effect
was from the study by Jegadeesh and Titman (1993). In this method, the strategy was selecting stocks
based on returns in the past J months and holding them for K months (J month/K month strategy). It
was constructed as follows: At the beginning of each month t during the sample period, stocks were
ranked in ascending order based on their returns in the past J months. J was the formation period set at
3, 6, 9 and 12 months. The portfolio with the highest past returns was called the winners decile and it
contained the best 10% of the sample firms, whereas the portfolio with the lowest pasts return was
called the losers decile and it contained the worst 10% of the sample firms. In each month t, the
momentum strategy bought the winners decile and sold the losers decile, and then held for K months.
K was the holding period set at 3,6,9 and 12 months. Lastly, the strategy closed out the position started
from t K. To increase the robustness of the test, the strategy usually included portfolios with
overlapping holding periods, where in any given month t, the strategy held a group of portfolios that
were selected in the current month,

Blackwell V. Blackwell Case Study Summary
The following is a case study of Blackwell v Blackwell, that is connected to the principle of Secret
Trusts and particularly Half Secret Trusts. In order for the principle to be understood, it is significant
to expatiate on what secret trusts are and the several laws revolving around them. In general terms, a
secret trust arises where a testator, A, tells B that he is leaving property to B on his death, and that he
wishes B to hold it on trust for C, even though no trust for C has been set out in any formal will
executed by A. If B agrees, when the property passes to B on A s death, the court will enforce the
secret trust despite its informality and require B to hold the property for C. In secret trusts, two
different types are recognised by the courts, one where the trustee and the terms of the trust are not
mentioned in the will, this is a fully secret trust while a half secret trust is subject to a trust obligation
which is apparent on the face of the Will, but the terms of the trust and the identity of the beneficiary
are not disclosed. The trustee is not in position to deny the trust and can not fraudulently take the
property because he is a trustee for someone. Equity will not allow him take the property beneficially.
The major difference between both is the extent in which disclosure is made as to the recipient of the
gift intends to take the property as a trustee rather than for himself. Secret Trusts can also arise where
there is no will, it may be in a case of

Wicca vs. Scientology
At first glance, Wicca and Scientology may appear to be completely opposite religions, sharing no
common tenets or practices. Contrary to this, both systems of beliefs actually share several distinctive
qualities that set them apart from many major religions in the world.
First, Wicca, the formal organization of witchcraft, is a mystery religion. Each practitioner is
considered a witch, and practitioner of The Craft, which contains several different beliefs concerning
theology and divinity depending on an individual because of their freedom to study what they seek.
Members may choose to be solitary, or part of a coven, which is a group of Wiccans that share beliefs

addition to this, there are 8 dynamics within Scientology that embrace every aspect of life. These
dynamics are: self, creativity, group survival, species, life forms, physical universe, spiritual dynamic,
and infinity. By achieving each dynamic, Scientologists believe they are able to achieve ultimate
completion and enlightenment. Also, an important aspect of Scientology is freedom, and is expressed
as one s ultimate attainable goal. Likewise within the Wicca religion, freedom is expressed by

generally theistic, and centered on the existence of one God and the one superior Goddess, which
would be considered dualistic. In contrast, other groups of Wiccans are polytheistic, believing in
several different deities that serve different functions in their religion. Finally, other groups may

My recommendation to Marvin Koslow is to follow the first approach of pricing Datril at par with
Tylenol ($2.85 retail price, $1.69 trade cost), leveraging Bristol Myers brand name, and positioning
Datril as an analgesic with similar relief effects to the those of the already successful, aspirin based
Bufferin and Excedin, but more gentle on the stomach, and without the side effects of aspirin. By
doing so, Datril will primarily target aspirin users, specifically those from Bufferin s and Excedin s
current consumer base, who suffer from upset stomach. I explain my rationale below. According to the
case, when Datril was introduced to test markets per the strategy I recommended, it failed to achieve

side effects of aspirin. Targeting those specific customers and communicating to them the value of

recommended selling price of $2.85 is double that of these aspirin products.

U.s. Government s Impact On The United States
The U.S. has suffered from many Natural Disasters from Hurricane Katrina to wildfires in California.
When it comes too natural disasters Hurricanes are by far one of the most devastating. The results can
be catastrophic, possibly leaving the death tolls in thousands and leaving millions homeless. Even
though the U.S. has responded to and recovered from Hurricanes, Meteorologists are presently not
able to predict them early enough, and the U.S. government is unprepared financially, and
responsively. Being well prepared for a hurricane is critical to saving peoples lives and their well
being. The government needs to do more not for just hurricanes but any disaster. When it comes to
predicting a Hurricane obviously the earlier it s predicted the better the outcome will be, it will give
the government and citizens more time to prepare and evacuate city s or even a state if necessary.
Once a hurricane has formed, it can be tracked. Scientists can usually predict its path for 3 5 days in
advance (Samsot). Giving a city to a state possibly only 3 days to evacuate is not long enough for
everyone to pack up as many belongings as they can and leave the area. If meteorologists are able to
predict when a hurricane is going to form and project the path the time to prepare will increase
significantly. What the McDonald 2 government needs to do is help Meteorologists be able to predict
Hurricanes earlier by helping them get more resources and giving them a good fund to help them

Stoichiometry Lab Report
Stoichiometric Reactions with Phosphoric Acid
By Jaime Conklin
Partner: Deanna Ryan
CHE 120 03
Instructor: Mr. Cusumano
September 30, 2015
Purpose
The purpose of this experiment is to examine the stoichiometric relationship between reagents and the
identity of the products by using three acid/base neutralization reactions of a triprotic acid, phosphoric
acid, and varying molar equivalents of sodium hydroxide. The data will be used to determine the
formula weight of the products and identify the remaining salt for all three reactions.
Introduction
In this experiment, we learned about stoichiometry, empirical formula, molecular formula, polyprotic
acids and bases, metathesis reactions, and moles.
Stoichiometry is a very important part of chemistry. Stoichiometry refers to calculating the masses of
molecules and their products . The reactants are usually given and stoichiometry is used to find the
products of the equations as well balancing the equation. An example of this would be sodium
chloride (NaCl). Stoichiometry will say that if there are ten thousand atoms of sodium and one atom
of chlorine, only one molecule of sodium chloride can be made and that fact can never be changed.
Ex: 10,000Na + 1Cl → NaCl + 9,999Na
Empirical formulas represent the ratio of atoms in a formula. It is expressed in the simplest, small,
whole number ratio. The molecular formula can either be the empirical formula, or a multiple of the
empirical

Merry Pranksters And The LSD
When hear the name Merry Pranksters what comes to your mind? Let me guess a group of young
individuals dressed in a joker costume running around throwing water balloons from roof tops or
shaking hands with strangers to taze them. Merry Pranksters were not exactly known for doing that,
but they were group of young adults who did pranks with LSD. For instance, they mixed LSD in a
bowl of Kool Aid in their parties to get their guests high and this was known as Electric Kool Aid Test.
In the 1960s, heroes of the counterculture Timothy Leary, Ken Kesey s Merry Pranksters, the Beatles
and the Grateful Dead embraced the practice of dropping acid, viewing it as a great way to party and
as the path to a higher consciousness (Ross). At the same time, in the sixties violence was prevalent
from Vietnam War, to protesters rebelling against the government and U.S. was at a brink of starting
World War 3 with the Soviet Union. As a result, this made the American people pessimistic about their
future, so they began to take LSD and drugs. We can see things in today s culture that were partially
inspired by the Merry Pranksters, such as using LSD in order to be connect with the self, two distinct
groups of LSD users and the revival of psychedelic movement. Merry Pranksters were famous for
using LSD and they used higher doses of LSD because they felt that they were in touch with the
nature spiritually and it also gave them sensations that they never felt before. In reality, LSD is a

I took advantage of the opportunities provided during my undergraduate career to appraise the present
performance of the city against the conceived, modernist planning ideals. In an assignment for the
urban design class, I investigated the image of the city as perceived by the largely illiterate rickshaw
pullers, which navigate through it on a daily basis. It helped me to learn how the vocabulary of nodes
and landmarks synonymous with traditional towns, still continues to be used by them. I illustrated this
by drawing sector maps using Lynch s taxonomy of urban elements. For a national competition to
design a people s mall, I looked into the supply chains and networks across the city, which transform
sliver spaces within its formal fabric, appropriated by informal vendors and hawkers. Each sector,
devised as homogeneous, self sufficient neighborhood units, now specializes in various resources
leading to a differential development of the uniform grid layout.
In my final thesis project, I researched on Chandigarh s gridlocked, urbanized villages which emerged
as by products of the rational planning, juxtaposing contrasting forms of urbanism. A British
filmmaker once dubbed them as subaltern subversions of the grid, whereas a nuanced investigation
revealed how the existing form and pattern critiques the extended family neighborhoods of the pre
existing agrarian settlement. In my

Victor Frankenstein Reflection
Victor Frankenstein, an egocentric scientist, decides to defy the laws of nature and act as if he was

Diagnostic Lab
Problem Statement
Cell filtration is often necessary for diagnostic lab tests. One example of this is for cystic fibrosis
patients. Individuals with cystic fibrosis often get lung infections due to the thick mucus in their lungs.
In order to prescribe antibiotics for these lung infections, a bacterial culture needs to be performed,
which requires bacterial samples to be separated from the thick mucus of sputum. Passive filtration is
the most commonly used type of filtration in cell sorting for diagnostic purposes and extorts cells
physical properties (Yoon et al., 2016). Dead end filtration is a form of passive filtration where the
filtrate is added perpendicularly to the filter (Yoon et al., 2016). While dead end filtration is relatively
easy to perform, larger particles can block the filter, stopping the flow of filtrate through the filter.
This blockage problem causes dead end filtration to be underutilized (Mugnier, Howell, Ruf, 2000). It
has been shown that a cycle of forward and backward flushes can dislodge larger particles from the
filter allowing more of the smaller particles to rush through the filter pores (Smith, Vigneswaran, Ngo,
Ben Aim, Nguyen, 2005) but what percentage of backward flush is most efficient in a duty cycle with

The Hobbit Reflection
The novel I read this semester was The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien which was first published on
September 21, 1937. I had a positive feeling when reading the book because even though the book has
many bad events the characters have to overcome many difficult situations such as almost being eaten
by trolls and being cornered by wargs. Although the book started off slow and it took a bit of time to
adapt to the style of writing the content was full of suspense and outcomes that I did not expect. This
made the book fun to read and by far the best book I have ever read. It was very interesting to watch
Bilbo s character develop throughout the novel and see how events and adventures impact him. The
Hobbit is set in middle earth, years 2941 to 2942 of the Third Age before the events of The Lord of the
Rings. Bilbo is a young hobbit who is a respected resident in the town of Hobbiton because his last
name Baggins. Baggins is a very respectable name because the Baggins never went on adventures and
they were quite wealthy. Bilbo was approached by Gandalf to go on an adventure and he refused but
after their conversation Gandalf puts a symbol on his door and then all of the dwarves come to his
house for a party. The dwarves ask Bildo if he wants to be a burglar and he refuses again but in the
morning he changes his mind and agrees to take on the role of burglar while on the adventure. Thorin

Rodney King Violence
170 On The 91
April 29th, 1992. A jury in Ventura County acquitted four white Los Angeles Police Department
officers of brutally beating Rodney G. King, an unarmed African American motorist. The riots that
followed over the next five days left more than 50 people dead, more than 2,000 injured, and nearly
12,000 arrested (Los Angeles Riots Fast Facts). My father, James Webster, was a witness to these riots.
On March 3, 1991, paroled felon Rodney King led police on a high speed chase through the streets of
Los Angeles County before eventually surrendering. Intoxicated and uncooperative, King resisted
arrest and was brutally beaten by police officers Laurence Powell, Theodore Briseno, and Timothy
Wind ( Riots Erupt in Los Angeles ). The incident was caught on video, and is still viewable on
YouTube.
The 81 second video featured the LAPS officers repeatedly delivering baton blows, kicking King until
he fell to the ground. To say that they just beat him is a severe understatement. The video also
captured King cowering on the concrete, and attempting to crawl away, but to no avail, as the police
officers swarmed around him. Rodney King was beaten inches from death. Its images have been
seared into the minds of viewers the world over who have watched the tape broadcast repeatedly ( The

The Fat Girl Analysis
In every culture, there are certain societal standards that people are expected to live up to. Some have
find it easy to accept and fit in, while other struggle to find themselves within society s ideals. Society
places a great emphasis on the way women should look to be considered beautiful and many women
fail to live up to those standards. In the short story The Fat Girl by Andre Dubus, the reader sees how
the main character Louise, a fat girl, struggles to fit in with pressure society places on her that to be
considered beautiful, one must be thin. Louise, for the majority of her life, outwardly appears as if she
s trying to conform to society s standards of dieting and trying to be thin, but when completely alone,
she hides her guilty pleasure of binge eating candy bars. The pressure is placed upon her from her
childhood and follows her throughout her life, until her marriage falls apart after she gains weight.
Andre Dubus shows us, through the events that occur in Louise s life, that only after accepting
ourselves they way we are, despite societal pressures of conforming to a certain standard, can we
begin the road to becoming happy. She wants to be accepted for who she is, not for what she looks
like. It isn t until her marriage dissolves that she acknowledges that she needs to accept herself and be
comfortable in her own skin before she can become happy. From a young age, Louise is made aware
of the pressure society places on women to be thin. When she is nine years old, her mother starts
pointing out how Louise needs to start watching what she s eating, and places her on a diet. Her
mother tells her, In five years you ll be in high school and if you re fat the boys won t like you; they
won t ask you out (Dubus 125). Her mother tells her that if by the time she enters high school she isn t
thin, she won t have any chance of being in a relationship or being looked at as beautiful. Louise, and
many other girls who are in a similar situation, are trained at a young age to believe that beauty is
equated with being thin. This makes Louise start out life thinking that she ll never be good enough;
she ll never be accepted by others until she becomes the ideal skinny girl. As a nine year old, she

Operant conditioning will be used to teach Ben not to steal; this will be supported by the use of positive reinforcers. In order for this to be effective Ben should be placed on a continuous reinforcement schedule; consisting of positive reinforcements. These should be age appropriate; these reinforcers are verbal praise and 30 minutes of television (Cartoon Network); this will be rewarded only if he does not engage in stealing. No forms of punishment will be used on Ben; although punishment has an immediate effect it does not teach a lesson. With operant learning Ben will learn to decrease his negative behavior and engage in positive actions. Aggression with Spanking By nature children are naturally inclined to mock or imitate things that within their environment. D. clarkcr@auburn.edu phone 334 844 8326 fax 334 844 8331 Abstract The 1 alkyl 3 acylindoles and the inverse regioisomeric 1 acyl 3 alkylindoles can be prepared directly from a common set of precursor materials and using similar synthetic strategies. The EI mass spectra for these isomers show a number of unique ions which allow for the differentiation of the 1 alkyl 3 acylindole compounds from the inverse regioisomeric 1 acyl 3 alkylindoles. The base peak at m/z 214 in the 1 n pentyl 3 benzoylindole represents the M 77 cation fragment resulting from the loss of the phenyl group and this ion is not observed in the inverse isomer. The 1 benzoyl 3 n pentylindole inverse regioisomer shows a base peak at m/z 105 for the benzoyl cation. Thus, these two base peaks are the result of fragmentation initiated at the carbonyl oxygen for both isomers. The 1 pentyl 3 benzoylindole is characterized by the strong intensity carbonyl band at 1703 cm 1 while the amide carbonyl appears as a strong band of equal intensity at 1681 cm 1 in the 1 benzoyl 3 pentyl regioisomer. 1. Throughout high school, my grades were never above average and until about a couple of years ago I considered myself to be unintelligent. What I failed to see was my level of commitment. One of the best traits of my team was our excellent use of coordination. Coordination helped us stay organized, as well as made each team member more effective. We never missed a team meeting, and always completed our assigned work on time. The Gantt chart we created towards the beginning of our project, helped each member stay organized, so no one member took on a larger share of work than assigned to. As well as staying organized, we worked well as a team, and I believe we all respected each others abilities to complete our own tasks. The reason we were able to function so well, was because only the facilitator had the desire to lead. There were no power struggle and confrontations. There were never conflicting ideas in the team, we all accepted what we had to do and let one person take charge. However, that doesn t mean, we didn t put in a lot work. We worked hard to complete our project; it only shows that we were able to work well, when given the task of turning design ideas into reality. Furthermore, this thesis developed a new index to assess pulmonary oxygenation. This topic was explored with external pulmonary factors to quantify oxygenation defect through a maze of mathematics, different diseases, and pathophysiology. There was one or two ways that could lead us to the answer and many dead end routes. Ultimately, the research produced an equation that was more robust than the PaO2/FiO2 ratio in terms of less variation. The first chapter described two different types of oxygen indices and its use. The second chapter described the medical simulator in general and the Nottingham Physiology Simulator (NPS) in particular. In chapter three, we examined the variation of certain oxygen indices with changes in the following external physiological factors (FIO2, Hb, RQ, and VO2) without changing the pulmonary configuration status. This investigation was done with ARDS simulated patients using a validated NPS model. The study demonstrates that the external physiological factors induced a remarkable variation in comparing to oxygen indices, and the use of each index depends on the type of the external physiological factors. However, we conclude that clinicians should be aware of using the best index according to patient s status. Accordingly, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

On a broader scheme, The Visit surveys the social context of Europe in a Post World War II environment. Like many play writers, Durrenmatt demonstrates that his play, like all cultural manifestations, is a product of the socioeconomic and hence ideological conditions of the time and place in which it was written, whether or not the author intended it so. Because human beings are themselves products of their socioeconomic and ideological environment, it is assumed that authors cannot help but create works that embody ideology of some form. (Tyson 66). • 20. The Importance Of Voter Participation In Canada Elections are the most vital mechanism for a democracy since it is the role of the citizens to elect the representatives of their government. As one of the most established democracies, Canada had been experiencing decreasing participation in its elections. In 2008, voter turnout in Canada hit its lowest point at an average of 58.8%, keeping in mind that the average voter turnout in Canada has been 70.7% (Canada, 2017). Even though there may not be one coherent explanation, there are a few predictors that could justify the decline in Canada s voter turnout. Firstly, political interest is essential in motivating citizens to participate in politics, and the least informed citizens are the less motivated they are to participate. Secondly, personal barriers such as age, gender, race, language and socio economic status play a major role as a determinant for the participation in elections. Finally, Canada s current electoral process the system in which citizens use to cast their votes is a factor that may deter participants from voting because of its cited weaknesses. For instance, the current system has brought into question its lack of democracy and representation. Therefore, while participation in federal elections is essential to a functioning democracy, there has been a decline in voter turnout due to lack of political interest, personal barriers, and the electoral process. Political interest is a highly important motivator for the participation in federal elections. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In this method, the strategy was selecting stocks based on returns in the past J months and holding them for K months (J month/K month strategy). It was constructed as follows: At the beginning of each month t during the sample period, stocks were ranked in ascending order based on their returns in the past J months. J was the formation period set at 3, 6, 9 and 12 months. The portfolio with the highest past returns was called the winners decile and it contained the best 10% of the sample firms, whereas the portfolio with the lowest pasts return was called the losers decile and it contained the worst 10% of the sample firms. In each month t, the momentum strategy bought the winners decile and sold the losers decile, and then held for K months. K was the holding period set at 3,6,9 and 12 months. In order for the principle to be understood, it is significant to expatiate on what secret trusts are and the several laws revolving around them. In general terms, a secret trust arises where a testator, A, tells B that he is leaving property to B on his death, and that he wishes B to hold it on trust for C, even though no trust for C has been set out in any formal will executed by A. If B agrees, when the property passes to B on A s death, the court will enforce the secret trust despite its informality and require B to hold the property for C. In secret trusts, two different types are recognised by the courts, one where the trustee and the terms of the trust are not mentioned in the will, this is a fully secret trust while a half secret trust is subject to a trust obligation which is apparent on the face of the Will, but the terms of the trust and the identity of the beneficiary are not disclosed. The trustee is not in position to deny the trust and can not fraudulently take the property because he is a trustee for someone. Equity will not allow him take the property beneficially. The major difference between both is the extent in which disclosure is made as to the recipient of the gift intends to take the property as a trustee rather than for himself. Secret Trusts can also arise where there is no will, it may be in a case of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 28. Wicca vs. Scientology At first glance, Wicca and Scientology may appear to be completely opposite religions, sharing no common tenets or practices. Contrary to this, both systems of beliefs actually share several distinctive qualities that set them apart from many major religions in the world. First, Wicca, the formal organization of witchcraft, is a mystery religion. Each practitioner is considered a witch, and practitioner of The Craft, which contains several different beliefs concerning theology and divinity depending on an individual because of their freedom to study what they seek. Members may choose to be solitary, or part of a coven, which is a group of Wiccans that share beliefs and conduct rituals together. Though different groups of Wicca may ... By achieving each dynamic, Scientologists believe they are able to achieve ultimate completion and enlightenment. Also, an important aspect of Scientology is freedom, and is expressed as one s ultimate attainable goal. Likewise within the Wicca religion, freedom is expressed by individuals through their seeking of truth, and in the Wiccan Rede, which basically states that Wiccan are free to act as they please as long as it doesn t harm another. Overall, the Wiccan religion is generally theistic, and centered on the existence of one God and the one superior Goddess, which would be considered dualistic. In contrast, other groups of Wiccans are polytheistic, believing in several different deities that serve different functions in their religion. Finally, other groups may suppose that all goddesses are one Goddess, and all gods are one God. Datril Case My recommendation to Marvin Koslow is to follow the first approach of pricing Datril at par with Tylenol ($2.85 retail price, $1.69 trade cost), leveraging Bristol Myers brand name, and positioning Datril as an analgesic with similar relief effects to the those of the already successful, aspirin based Bufferin and Excedin, but more gentle on the stomach, and without the side effects of aspirin. By doing so, Datril will primarily target aspirin users, specifically those from Bufferin s and Excedin s current consumer base, who suffer from upset stomach. I explain my rationale below. • 30. U.s. Government s Impact On The United States The U.S. has suffered from many Natural Disasters from Hurricane Katrina to wildfires in California. When it comes too natural disasters Hurricanes are by far one of the most devastating. The results can be catastrophic, possibly leaving the death tolls in thousands and leaving millions homeless. Even though the U.S. has responded to and recovered from Hurricanes, Meteorologists are presently not able to predict them early enough, and the U.S. government is unprepared financially, and responsively. Being well prepared for a hurricane is critical to saving peoples lives and their well being. The government needs to do more not for just hurricanes but any disaster. When it comes to predicting a Hurricane obviously the earlier it s predicted the better the outcome will be, it will give the government and citizens more time to prepare and evacuate city s or even a state if necessary. Once a hurricane has formed, it can be tracked. Scientists can usually predict its path for 3 5 days in advance (Samsot). Giving a city to a state possibly only 3 days to evacuate is not long enough for everyone to pack up as many belongings as they can and leave the area. If meteorologists are able to predict when a hurricane is going to form and project the path the time to prepare will increase significantly. What the McDonald 2 government needs to do is help Meteorologists be able to predict Hurricanes earlier by helping them get more resources and giving them a good fund to help them ... • 31. Stoichiometry Lab Report Stoichiometric Reactions with Phosphoric Acid By Jaime Conklin Partner: Deanna Ryan CHE 120 03 Instructor: Mr. Cusumano September 30, 2015 Purpose The purpose of this experiment is to examine the stoichiometric relationship between reagents and the identity of the products by using three acid/base neutralization reactions of a triprotic acid, phosphoric acid, and varying molar equivalents of sodium hydroxide. The data will be used to determine the formula weight of the products and identify the remaining salt for all three reactions. Introduction In this experiment, we learned about stoichiometry, empirical formula, molecular formula, polyprotic acids and bases, metathesis reactions, and moles. Stoichiometry is a very important part of chemistry. Stoichiometry refers to calculating the masses of molecules and their products . The reactants are usually given and stoichiometry is used to find the products of the equations as well balancing the equation. An example of this would be sodium chloride (NaCl). Stoichiometry will say that if there are ten thousand atoms of sodium and one atom of chlorine, only one molecule of sodium chloride can be made and that fact can never be changed. Ex: 10,000Na + 1Cl → NaCl + 9,999Na Empirical formulas represent the ratio of atoms in a formula. It is expressed in the simplest, small, whole number ratio. The molecular formula can either be the empirical formula, or a multiple of the empirical ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 32. Merry Pranksters And The LSD When hear the name Merry Pranksters what comes to your mind? Let me guess a group of young individuals dressed in a joker costume running around throwing water balloons from roof tops or shaking hands with strangers to taze them. Merry Pranksters were not exactly known for doing that, but they were group of young adults who did pranks with LSD. For instance, they mixed LSD in a bowl of Kool Aid in their parties to get their guests high and this was known as Electric Kool Aid Test. In the 1960s, heroes of the counterculture Timothy Leary, Ken Kesey s Merry Pranksters, the Beatles and the Grateful Dead embraced the practice of dropping acid, viewing it as a great way to party and as the path to a higher consciousness (Ross). At the same time, in the sixties violence was prevalent from Vietnam War, to protesters rebelling against the government and U.S. was at a brink of starting World War 3 with the Soviet Union. As a result, this made the American people pessimistic about their future, so they began to take LSD and drugs. We can see things in today s culture that were partially inspired by the Merry Pranksters, such as using LSD in order to be connect with the self, two distinct groups of LSD users and the revival of psychedelic movement. Merry Pranksters were famous for using LSD and they used higher doses of LSD because they felt that they were in touch with the nature spiritually and it also gave them sensations that they never felt before. I reply with an inherently paradoxical answer. While on one hand it has served as a major source of my exposure towards architecture and urbanism, alongside shaping my perception and critique of urbanity, it has also engendered in me a curiosity towards the other , the traditional, emergent and incremental forms of urbanism prevalent all over the Indian sub continent. I took advantage of the opportunities provided during my undergraduate career to appraise the present performance of the city against the conceived, modernist planning ideals. In an assignment for the urban design class, I investigated the image of the city as perceived by the largely illiterate rickshaw pullers, which navigate through it on a daily basis. It helped me to learn how the vocabulary of nodes and landmarks synonymous with traditional towns, still continues to be used by them. I illustrated this by drawing sector maps using Lynch s taxonomy of urban elements. For a national competition to design a people s mall, I looked into the supply chains and networks across the city, which transform sliver spaces within its formal fabric, appropriated by informal vendors and hawkers. Each sector, devised as homogeneous, self sufficient neighborhood units, now specializes in various resources leading to a differential development of the uniform grid layout. In my final thesis project, I researched on Chandigarh s gridlocked, urbanized villages which emerged as by products of the rational planning, juxtaposing contrasting forms of urbanism. A British filmmaker once dubbed them as subaltern subversions of the grid, whereas a nuanced investigation revealed how the existing form and pattern critiques the extended family neighborhoods of the pre existing agrarian settlement. • 35. Diagnostic Lab Problem Statement Cell filtration is often necessary for diagnostic lab tests. One example of this is for cystic fibrosis patients. Individuals with cystic fibrosis often get lung infections due to the thick mucus in their lungs. In order to prescribe antibiotics for these lung infections, a bacterial culture needs to be performed, which requires bacterial samples to be separated from the thick mucus of sputum. Passive filtration is the most commonly used type of filtration in cell sorting for diagnostic purposes and extorts cells physical properties (Yoon et al., 2016). Dead end filtration is a form of passive filtration where the filtrate is added perpendicularly to the filter (Yoon et al., 2016). While dead end filtration is relatively easy to perform, larger particles can block the filter, stopping the flow of filtrate through the filter. This blockage problem causes dead end filtration to be underutilized (Mugnier, Howell, Ruf, 2000). It has been shown that a cycle of forward and backward flushes can dislodge larger particles from the filter allowing more of the smaller particles to rush through the filter pores (Smith, Vigneswaran, Ngo, Ben Aim, Nguyen, 2005) but what percentage of backward flush is most efficient in a duty cycle with a constant amount ... • 40. The Fat Girl Analysis In every culture, there are certain societal standards that people are expected to live up to. Some have find it easy to accept and fit in, while other struggle to find themselves within society s ideals. Society places a great emphasis on the way women should look to be considered beautiful and many women fail to live up to those standards. In the short story The Fat Girl by Andre Dubus, the reader sees how the main character Louise, a fat girl, struggles to fit in with pressure society places on her that to be considered beautiful, one must be thin. Louise, for the majority of her life, outwardly appears as if she s trying to conform to society s standards of dieting and trying to be thin, but when completely alone, she hides her guilty pleasure of binge eating candy bars. The pressure is placed upon her from her childhood and follows her throughout her life, until her marriage falls apart after she gains weight. Andre Dubus shows us, through the events that occur in Louise s life, that only after accepting ourselves they way we are, despite societal pressures of conforming to a certain standard, can we begin the road to becoming happy. She wants to be accepted for who she is, not for what she looks like. It isn t until her marriage dissolves that she acknowledges that she needs to accept herself and be comfortable in her own skin before she can become happy. From a young age, Louise is made aware of the pressure society places on women to be thin. When she is nine years old, her mother starts pointing out how Louise needs to start watching what she s eating, and places her on a diet. Her mother tells her, In five years you ll be in high school and if you re fat the boys won t like you; they won t ask you out (Dubus 125). Her mother tells her that if by the time she enters high school she isn t thin, she won t have any chance of being in a relationship or being looked at as beautiful. Louise, and many other girls who are in a similar situation, are trained at a young age to believe that beauty is equated with being thin. This makes Louise start out life thinking that she ll never be good enough; she ll never be accepted by others until she becomes the ideal skinny girl. As a nine year old, she ... New Zealand Cultural And Ethical Consideration Essay New Zealand Cultural and Ethical consideration For the ethical considerations the Clinical and Translational Science Institute (n.d.) summarized that there are three basic ethical principles relevant to research involving human subjects. The three things stated by the Clinical and Translational Science Institute (n.d.) are respect for persons, beneficence and justice. For the respect for the person each individual should be treated as autonomous agents as such the researcher should ensure that the participants of the research received a full disclosure of the nature of the study, risk, benefits and alternatives with a decent opportunity to ask questions. For the ones with diminished authority or those with either their mental or physical faculties are limited. They should not be forced to participate in the research. For the beneficence the researcher should maximize the benefits of the study while limiting the negative effects on the participants. For the justice part of ethics there should be fairness in the distribution of participants and there should be equitable selection off participants. For justice the researcher should not withhold any benefit the person should be entitled without any god reason.
