Average Music Review Sample
How cool! Co founder and original lead singer of Yes, Jon Anderson, has joined forces with prog
rocks Roine Stolt, of The Flower Kings, and together as Anderson / Stolt, are releasing a new studio
release called; Anderson / Stolt The Invention Of Knowledge. Comes out the 24th of June, via
InsideOut Music. News about the project been out for a while before I got wind of it. Being a music
reviewer, and having made a reputation for myself focusing on progressive rock music, and because of
already being a fan of Jon Anderson, and Roine Stolt, I immediately began emailing around to see
how quick I could acquire an advanced copy. The idea, so I could get a write up on it, out it s first
week of release. Ends up I score, so now all I have to do ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While the music plays, I start researching. I come across a couple quotes from Jon Anderson, and
Roine Slolt included in a press release about the project:
Jon: .....Music is always the driving force in my life...working with such a wonderful musician as
Roine Stolt made the creation of this album very unique. We are very excited with the release of
Invention of Knowledge .
Roine Stolt adds: It is not aiming at being new Yes music; just new music, modern and classical, rock
and ethno, tribal and orchestrated, grooving and floating. Hopefully in the true spirit of progressive
leaning forward, surprising and also comforting with familiar run arounds. We ve been inventing as
we go along Jon is an endless source of new ideas. We ve been bouncing ideas back and forth for
months and as a result there are probably dozens of versions of these songs. It s been a very interesting
and rewarding time and the result is just insanely detailed.
I worked with The Flowers Kings duo of Jonas Reingold on bass and Felix Lehrmann on drums, with
Tom Brislin on keyboards. Tom had done the Yes Symphonic Tour, and I knew him well. It was
important for me to be comfortable with the musicians at this stage, because that way I was more
relaxed about telling them how we wanted it all to sound. If I had been in the studio with people who
were strangers, then I might have felt more

Vanadium Research Papers
Vanadium Vanadium is all over your house. It is in your tools, your sink, and even in many metals you
have laying around. Vanadium is used a lot in tools like wrenches and many other stainless steel. Why
you may ask? It has a certain property ill tell you later on about. Vanadium was first discovered by a
Mexican chemist named Andres Manuel Del Rio. He sent a sample and a letter to The Institute of
France in Paris, France. Unfortunately, the letter was lost in a ship wreck. So only the sample made it
to the institute. Rio had first named this metal erythronium. The atomic number for vanadium is 23.
The melting point is 1910 Degrees Celsius. The boiling point is 3407 degrees Celsius. The atomic

Community-Associated MRSA
Methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus is not uncommon in hospitals and other healthcare
facilities. It is one of the top, most problematic nosocomial infections currently being seen, and
battled. A newer strain of MRSA, Community Associated, is now becoming almost as prevalent as the
Healthcare Associated, and is continuing to grow substantially in number. With Community
Associated Methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (CA MRSA) on the rise in the United States,
and rapidly gaining on the more common Healthcare Associated MRSA, the need for scientists and
doctors to not only define / classify this gram negative bacteria, but also to learn how it is transmitted,
the characteristics promoting its survival, and how to prevent the spread ... Show more content on

Outpatient frequency of CA MRSA continues to increase, and it is believed that this is a huge factor in
not replacing, but adding to the increase in HA MRSA. (3) CA MRSA is easily spread among young,
healthy individuals predominantly by skin to skin contact, and in places where close contact or
overcrowding of people is common. This we know includes many areas of our society thus leading to
the cause of why it affects the healthier people in our communities. Because of the strain of CA
MRSA and its virulence factors, scientists are trying to research better ways to battle this gram
negative bacterium. Unfortunately, the funding is not usually there. Awareness and prevention are the
keys to stopping CA MRSA from spreading not only among individuals in the community, but also
being transmitted into the hospitals already battling MRSA. Proper hand hygiene is number one in
prevention, and should be taken seriously by everyone, not just healthcare workers. If we want to
battle this growing endemic disease, we must all do our part and make others aware. Since it targets
mainly the healthy younger individuals in and around our communities, and across the nation, we all
need to be a part of the solution not just the healthcare

Clark University Application Essay
My interest with Clark University began prior to my college experience, by hearing Dr. Goldberg and
other Clark Professors on NPR and in the media, discussing the topics that I now consider my primary
research interests. As an undergraduate student I continued to listen to these interviews and look into
the research they cited, which eventually lead me to the psychology programs and active labs of Clark
University. I was extremely interested in the opportunities I saw for research and teaching
assistantship. As someone with experience as a teacher s assistant, I know how well it can help both
socially and financially. Such a partnership helps students engage student body, build rapport with
professors, and gain active experience and competence in their field. By having these assistantships
available, Clark University is showing a dedication to student support and success both in and beyond
the university. I was also attracted to the collaboration between department and local hospitals,
schools, head start programs, and has had joint programs with the Clark University Medical school.

Tales Of Despereaux Character Analysis
Anna Tefs
Tales of Despereaux
SOME SPOILERS DOES NOT RUIN WHOLE BOOK ENDING BUT MAY RUIN SOME PARTS.
Theme:
The theme to the Tales of Despereaux is to be different even when it s not what people want. I think it
is this because all of the characters go through troubles and they all have to do with their uniqueness.
Later they find that being different is a good thing.
Genre:
The genre of this book is action. This is because the mice, rats, and people all have to face trials. The
trials test them with near death experiences.
Plot Summary:
We start with a mouse, now all mice are small but this one, this one was tiny. He was born with HUGE

Setting:
The setting in this book is a countryside a castle and a dungeon. There are many other settings but
those are the main ones. The time is late 1600 s to early 1700.
Mood:
The mood of this book is passionate because all of the characters were passionate about something.
Also all of those things had to do with the princess. Mig was passionate about being one, Despereaux
was passionate about the one princess he fell in love with and Rat was passionate about getting
revenge on the princess.
Tone:
The tone of this book changes. It is mostly protective and reflective because the narrator is reflecting
back on the things that have happened in the castle. He is protective because anytime something
happens to a character he turn to post his opinion that the should be more careful or to not thrust this
or that.
Irony:
The irony in this book is that although the king was so afraid of soup it is the very thing that saved his
daughter. Also the queen loved it sooo much that it killed her.

Crvical Cancer Essay
With more than 500,000 new cases being detected each year, cervical cancer is one of the leading
causes of cancer affecting women worldwide.1, 2 A very high burden of cervical cancer mortality is
found in developing countries, where nearly 9 out of 10 cases result in cervical cancer related
mortality among women.3, 4 These healthcare disparities can be largely explained by the lack of
access to effective cervical cancer screening programs in low resource settings, such as Sub Saharan
Africa (SSA), that allow for early detection and treatment.5 African women have an extremely high
incidence of cervical cancer, with approximately 420,000 new cases, half of which die per year.6

Squamous intraepithelial lesions (SIL) or cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN), the HPV mediated
cytological and histological precursors of cervical cancer, are more prevalent in HIV infected
women.20, 21 HIV leads to an increased prevalence of HPV and incidence of CIN in HIV infected
women. This maybe due to immune suppression seen with HIV.22 Moreover, cervical lesions are
twice as likely to progress to high grade cervical intra epithelial neoplasia (HGCIN) in HIV infected
women as compared to HIV negative women.23 This could be due to the inability of the immune
system to clear HPV in advanced precancerous and cancerous lesions.21, 24, 25 However, studies
have found that the rates of invasive cervical cancer (ICC) do not increase with decreasing CD4+
counts.26 Researchers attribute this finding to the long latency period prior to the development of
invasive cervical disease, during which, HIV infected women end up dying of other complications of
their HIV before ICC affects

Rhetorical Analysis Of Toyota
Being in a spiralling economy, the automobile industry must step up their games to produce attractive
advertisements. Creativity is crucial to attract potential buyers and gain more sales. To target specific
prospects through ads, the automobile industry usually apply rhetoric concepts to enhance their
product s appeal in every way, and not just purely on the automobile designs. As men are the main
target audience, car ads are usually being advertised as appealing and dangerous. Nevertheless, there
are other important aspects to be highlighted as well, which can be perfectly marketed with certain
rhetoric aspects. Although automobile ads always target the male audience, the industry also

Toyota reminds the audience to always pay close attention to their surroundings and the system
effectiveness is dependent on many factors, which shows that it has its limitations. From this
perspective, some may argue on how it is quiet contradict to their effort to show the effectiveness of
the brake in unexpected situation, as the reliability has its limitations. Therefore, it can be said that
Toyota cars can be used by everyone and everywhere, however, the attitude of the driver is still very
important. Looking at how the commercial emphasize on the calmness and the family being the
passengers, for instance, the mother looking back to check out on the son after the near death
experience or the pre collision, Toyota is trying to show how important it is to take safety measure
seriously as the driver is responsible over the life of others passengers. The emotional aspect from this
scenario might not be magnified into a tensely or panicking mode, yet subtly leaves an impact to the
audience to always care about other people in the car and the external surrounding. Toyota is proving
that their vehicle is safe for family use, and while they will keep manufacturing better designs and
systems for their users, the driving attitude is important too. The ad does not show reckless driving of
any sort, to prove that even when we drive at a slow pace, accidents can still happen and can be
caused by external factors. Therefore, with a good driving attitude and Toyota vehicles, the risk can be

The Lokia And Like The Leaves By Graciela Huinao And Two...
Scars that can t be seen, are the hardest to heal. This phrase can be connected to the two literary
poems, The Lokia, written by Graciela Huinao and Like the Leaves poet by Humberto Ak abal. In The
Lokia, expresses the grief of the Native Americans of losing their properties to the Europeans.
Similarity, the second poem Like the Leaves, illustrates that a tree is a figure of a Native American
losing their culture and themselves to the injustices of their society. Both of these two poems are then
connected to a historical text, Canada s Hidden History, My Mother and Me, authored by Gabrielle
Scrimshaw. In Canada s Hidden History, My Mother and Me communicate the injustice events of the
Native Americans has to endure; only lived the role of a bystander. In the two literary poems, The
Lokia, written by Graciela Huinao and Like the Leaves by Humberto Ak abal, the two authors used
symbolism to convey the scars of the Native American society, which it can never be healed. The two
poems, however, advocate becoming an upstander that stands against the injustices. The Loika, who
can only sing in sorrow, is a representation of the scars in the Native Americans that can t do anything
to stop the conqueror. The Loika sings, for the loss of its home, property, and resources. Huinao
expresses, Loika, why do you sing, if your voice wavers? I sing for my tree, for the morsels of food,
for my land, For what was mine yesterday. I sing for the sorrow of losing these things... (Huinao,

INTRODUCTION The new media announces a new period of media development in the world over,
it is the one that preaches the significance of new communications technologies. The new media is not
just a kind of information technology but also part and parcel of the social being of man in this
modern society. At the threshold of this fairly new millennium (2000 A.D.), there was a sporadic turn
around in the existing branches of the global media. This catapulted the world into a new information

THEORETICAL PERSPECTIVE To best understand the thematic preoccupation of this work, the
concept of critical mass theory as it applies to the adoption of a new communication technology is
desirable and would be used. The term comes from physics, where critical mass refers to the minimum
amount of material needed to trigger and sustain a radioactive chain reaction. The term has been
loosely applied to communication and refers to the minimum number of people needed as adopters
before a new communication technology can have a permanent place in the society Kaye and Medoff,
2001. Williams, Strover and Grant (1994) corroborate
An interesting aspect of the critical mass perspective is that widespread use appears to have a
snowball effect. Once a perceived critical mass is using the technology, those without it are strongly
motivated to adopt it. The reasoning here is that despite the drawbacks, such as cost or difficulty in
using the technology, people (and institutions) are pressured to adopt the technology because failure to
do so may exclude them from existing communication networks. Markus (1987), while making a case
for the adoption of interactive communication technologies, suggested three propositions in the
adoption process as cited in Kaye and Medoff (2001). First, the adoption and use of technology is an

Healthy Eating and Its Importance
To eat is a necessity, but to eat intelligently is an art Francois de La Rochefoucauld (1613 1680).
Eating is necessary in order to live; but to eat with knowledge is a talent in it self. Unhealthy eating is
one of the fastest growing health risks today. Obesity is a contributing factor which leads to many
deadly illnesses and is spreading throughout the nation. There is a way to stop this killer and healthy
eating is the cure. Healthful Eating will help one to live longer and give one the confidence needed in
knowing that body is at its best. Making small changes in every day eating habits will enable people to

For example, a baked potato is noted on the food pyramid as being a healthy food choice. Once
cheese, bacon, sour cream, and butter are added, one begins pushing the limits of healthy eating. The
key for most people is to listen to what their conscience is saying. One of the first questions to
consider is; is there a feeling of hunger? If the answer happens to be no, then individuals should focus
their mind on other activities such as reading, walking, or bicycling. One should take advantage of
physical activities he or she and his or her acquaintances enjoy doing together (Eating Healthy, 2006).
When friends join each other in making healthy eating choices and keeping fit, the success rate for
accomplishing set goals becomes much greater. The possibilities of achieving and maintaining good
health is influenced by the company someone chooses to keep. One should inform friends and family
about new dieting goals and encourage them to eat healthy as well. Doing so will develop a support
system and encourage all to develop healthy lifestyles. There are steps that people can take to begin
making the change to a healthier life. First, eat in modesty by portioning out correct serving sizes.
During the first week, begin shopping for healthier foods. One should learn his or her likes and

International Contracts And International Sale Contracts
A conflict of laws is a major issue that usually arises in international commercial transactions.
International characters in the transaction create questions, such as which court has jurisdiction over
the case, which law is applicable to the case and will the judgment enforceable. One possible way to
avoid the risk of a conflict of laws is to harmonise laws relating to international sales into uniform law
or a convention for worldwide adoption. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the
International Sale of Goods (CISG), known as the Vienna Convention, is one of the results from the
harmonisation of international trade law. Although there are many supports to this convention, the
argument of its effectiveness still continues and some countries still not ratify.
International sale contracts are not quite similar to domestic sale contracts as the international
character cannot be found in domestic contracts. The first character is the movement of goods which
travel from one state to another state, no matter where the seller s and the buyer s places of business
are. Another character is the different places of business of both parties which means that both parties
have different legal systems. Involving with property, parties or events located in more than one
jurisdiction and the laws of those jurisdictions are different, a conflict of laws issue might arise in a
dispute between parties. The differences between laws of each country also create uncertainty in

The Death Of The Nazi Party

Twelve
Twelve. The age where boys around the world go to junior high for the first time. The age where some
boys have braces on their crooked teeth. The age where the voice of some boys becomes deeper.
Twelve for me means none of that. Twelve marks the year when a member of the Nazi party could
knock on our door and take me away. Twelve marks the age that I might never see my family again.
Growing up with the frenzy of the war outside my bedroom window seized my childish qualities and
innocence away from me. I do not have the option to play in the street like the others. I cannot
casually walk in the Berlin plaza freely, as it seems that every five seconds a Nazi soldier stops to
question me. I have seen guiltless people shot to death on the sidewalk by ruthless soldiers under
Adolf Hitler s command. I have seen brainwashed boys that I used to go to school with do the dirty
work for Hitler. I have seen things that the little boys and girls in America have not even seen in their
nightmares.
Being only eleven years old, I cannot remember the day my older brother went with the soldiers. They
took him to a camp in order to train in order to be like them. I really only know what my parents told
me, and they don t know that much either. The whole situation still remains a conundrum, and now it
seems that my brother became like those before him, cold and lifeless.
It alarms me that in two

Beyond Scared Straight Summary
Established in the 1970 s, Scared Straight programs began to get introduced throughout the United
States as a method of deterrence for young teens in an attempted to keep them out of jail. A normal
program usually consists of an at risk teen visiting an adult prison to find out what it was really like to
be placed somewhere they are unable to leave. The teen learns of the harsh conditions that real prison
inmates have to endure while behind bars. Facility managers set up an itinerary for the teens to follow
as they tour the jail and live as though they were prisoners for a full day. This would put the at risk
youths up against an aggressive in your face confrontation with the inmates. They would get to listen
to the inmate s stories and have a one on one counseling session to really hit home on how the next
few years are going to be determined after they leave. However, no matter how well the intentions
may be to attempt and rehabilitate the teens, research has shown that many of approaches proved
ineffective. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

a whole, there is a nice coating that covers the false, yet what most would believe to be true as a

Description of Ambulatory Care and Hospitalization Care Essay
As early as the 1990 s, outpatient care only made up for 10 to 15% of a hospital s total profits,
compared to inpatient care. Since the start of the twenty first century, this figure has increased to
approximately 60%. This shift in healthcare has been occurring in different medical organizations
such as university medical centers, local hospitals, for profit chains, and not for profit suppliers. The
increase in outpatient services compared to inpatient has been showing no indication of slowing down.
The main reason for the development in outpatient care is because of all the medical advancements in
techniques and technology that allow for patients to be treated less invasively. Health care
organizations are now being compensated in a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The development of walk in clinics at the local CVS Pharmacy or Wal Mart are part of the
freestanding facilities that provide people in communities easier access to treatment without going to a
hospital ED. Additionally, the evident convenience aspect of bringing full emergency services to
communities, freestanding centers may be less likely to resort to hospital admissions as an outlet to
drive throughput. The incentive for ASCs is to emphasize volume and higher rates, while hospitals are
considered to regulate utilization. Looking closely, the main purpose originates from ASCs lower cost
profile compared to hospitals with the additional benefit of the likely to evade inpatient expenditure.
Within ambulatory clinics, there are three levels of service that are preformed based on the type of
diagnosis and treatment recommendations. Level one ambulatory service is considered an option to
inpatient care with both patient and service parts that corresponds with the point of intensity. The role
of this level is to offer alleviation from acute symptom reducing mechanisms such as less severe
residential constituents such as the family treatment home for children. Level two ambulatory services
are set apart by effective treatment; regularly with a rehab or transitional process that is built in to the
care plan. This process is complete in a staff supported setting that expands past the care setting into
the important sections of the patient s district

A Brief Note On Nanoparticles And Its Effect On The...
2.3.4.3 Nanomaterials
Nanoparticles (NPs) have recently received special attention because of their better performance when
compared with traditional mineral additions. The addition of NPs can improve the properties of
concrete due to the effect that the increased surface area has on reactivity and through filling the NPs
of the cement paste. Some of these nano particles include Silicon dioxide, Copper oxide, Zinc
peroxide, Titanium dioxide. The addition of silicon dioxide or titanium dioxide NPs improves the
consistency of SCC mixes. Less bleeding and segregation are also observed in the SCC mixes
containing these NPs. Also the addition of silicon dioxide or titanium dioxide NPs lead to a higher
T50 time, which can be expected to improve the segregation resistance. Jalal et al. (2012, 2013). The
incorporation of silicon dioxide NPs increases the V funnel times of SCC mixes. Madandoust et al.
(2011).
2.3.5 Production of SCC
The production of self consolidating concrete consists of limiting the coarse aggregate content to
about 50 % or less of the solid volume, limiting its maximum size to 20mm and using lower water to
powder ratios together with appropriate superplasticizers. (Okamura and Ouchi, 2003).
2.3.5.1 Mix Design Methods for SCC

of the technology inside the car and character association. A vital part to the plot of the movie is the
fact that Wakanda, the home place of the Black Panther, is settled on a hub of vibranium making them
secretly the most technically advanced country in the world. T Challa throws vibranium in the trunk of
the Lexus within the first seconds of the commercial and then Shuri, the smartest character of the

Millions of researches are being carried out across the world. Hence the scope is very limited for a
person/organization to follow all the studies going on. Even if you track a study, it becomes a real
problem to analyze data that is being updated continuously on that trial. Apart from this problem, there
are many other obstacles like inaccurate results in search of a particular medical problem and even if
you do find accurate results, it becomes hard to put all information at one place retrieved from various
sources. In order to overcome the above problems, we are developing a one stop clinical trials user
friendly application that addresses all the related problems. In addition, we plan on providing a
platform for business users to analyze the stocks of the companies that are conducting the clinical
trials. Business users can benefit by making use of these analyses to make right choice before
investing on a stock. When a company starts the research on any disease, its stock prices see a change
relative to this research. If the research seems useful and helpful for the society, it grabs the attention

Short Fiction Response Paper How much can a story differ if someone else tells it? Moreover, just
how much can we get out of a story based on narrative voice alone? After reading A Pair of Tickets by
Amy Tan and Cathedral by Raymond Carver, it is clear that narrative viewpoint truly drives the
emotions and understanding a reader experiences while reading. Both A Pair of Tickets and Cathedral
are told from a first person viewpoint, and that dictates the tone and message the story sends to
readers. A Pair of Tickets is a story about a middle aged woman who is embarking on her first trip to
China. The 36 year old woman named Jing Mei never really embraced the idea of being Chinese. She
notes that in middle school all of her friends talked about how they were more Chinese than she was.
The bulk of the story takes place while Jing Mei is en route to China, and along the way her father
who is accompanying her on the trip tells her several stories about her recently deceased Chinese
mother. As the story progresses, Jing Mei begins to embrace her Chinese heritage, and realizes that
although she was raised with an American way of thinking, it does not truly define who she is or has o
be. The emotion the narrator in A Pair of Tickets had was brought forward instantly in the beginning
of the story. In the second line alone, the narrator (Jing Mei) says that she can feel the skin on her
forehead tingling and

Adapting
Throughout life, people change a great deal. In many novels, the characters change, they usually have
no idea that they are changing. The characters usually change in different ways. Multiple characters
might change by being ruthless and blackhearted, and then at the end, they are a happy and cheery
character. White Fang and Buck have changed an amazing amount. For example Buck changed from
being a happy, lovable character, to answering the call of the wild. White Fang, went from being a
ruthless, wild beast to a lovable, domesticated character. People could build up confidence and change
without the world ending. White Fang is an amazing novel written by Jack London. The main
character, White Fang, is a ferocious, ruthless wolf. At first, he is not allowed to go towards the wall
of light and when he does, he finds the answers to every one of his curious wishes. He starts out as a
curious little pup, then proceeds to be a curious pup until he meets his first human. When he gets taken
back to camp, Kiche comes to his rescue, but they get taken in instead. He started hunting with his
mother at a young age, and therefore he learned things quicker. He progressed with his mental age of
course, throughout the novel, and had to become an adult dog at a young age to protect his mother and
himself. His attitude toward children from the Indian camp to the time he became a part of Weedon
Scott s family, he went through many changes. At Weedon Scott s house, he knew

Cultural Hegemony In Australia
In comparison, knowledge and knowledge creation can be affected by cultural hegemony and
ideologies which could call into question its value. Hegemony is the idea that people in power
maintain power by influencing societies acceptance of their ideologies rather than using coercion
(Rachar 2013, p. 238). In this time and age, this is performed by the control of media resources and
Internet opinion (Kumar 2011, p.39). Media suppliers are highly experienced at emotive and
persuasive content and reap the financial rewards of ratings (Edwards 2012, p. 69). In Australia, it is
perhaps worth considering that a majority of our media, in particular, our newspapers are owned by
companies such as Fairfax Media and News Corporation (Finkelstein 2012, p. 58). ... Show more

Before the advancement of current technologies, the world was reliant more upon the written word to
gain knowledge of current affairs and information of importance to their lives, this allowed for greater
control of knowledge sources and individual countries and communities could apply their forms of
cultural hegemony, with much greater ease such as Adolph Hitler s Nazi campaign (Renders 2001, p.
89). The adoption of newspaper propaganda heralded in the Nazi party and their systematic inundation
of cultural hegemony, led to the acceptance of their ideologies and morals by the people of Germany,
who appeared to not even question the knowledge that was being provided to be possibly false
(Renders 2001, pp. 89 90). Knowing that those in the majority or in power can have such a strong
influence on knowledge, could alter the perception or trust of knowledge negatively and devalue
knowledge creation (Das Teng 1998,

Changes in Rita s Character throughout Educating Rita
With reference to the social context of the play, discuss the ways in which Willy Russell shows the
changes in Rita s character throughout
Educating Rita.
In the play Educating Rita by Willy Russell there are two main characters, Rita and Frank. Rita is a
twenty six year old uneducated hairdresser. She wants a better life for herself; she wants to have an
education. She didn t get a full education at school as she says,

She likes his way of life, the upper class friends, the fact that he has a room full of books, a common

At the beginning of the play we can see Rita does not understand a simple question as Frank asks her,
You are? He is inquiring about who she is. Rita replies, What am I? We can see she clearly does not
understand the question. Also at the beginning of the play she makes conversation with Frank about a
picture she notices in the room. She asks Frank about his thoughts on the picture, and says what she
herself thinks of it. This shows she has a lot to say.
Frank and Rita contrast very well. Once they know each other well they share intimate details about
each other s personal lives. Frank talks briefly about his relationship with his girlfriend Julia, and
Rita talks about her relationship with her husband Denny. Rita is indeed a person who has a lot to say
and Frank listens and responds to her. He likes that when she speaks her mind, it comes to her
naturally, he thinks that this is refreshing rather then just being trained to know what to say.
When we first see Rita she appears talkative, clumsy and she swears a lot. Rita, at the beginning of the
play wants to escape from her own working culture and background. She wants an education; she
thinks this will give her a more fulfilling life. Rita wants to change, she

Causes And Effects Of Tsunamis
Run for your life! screams a little Indonesian boy. An eighty foot tall water wave of pure terror barrels
towards him and millions of other people. On December 26, 2004, an enormous tsunami wrecked
Indonesia, killed nearly 200,000, and left over half a million more homeless. This is not the only time
something like this happens. Tsunamis happen all over the world, and they are common. They vary in
size and destruction but are all very similar. Tsunamis are unique natural disasters due to the way they
travel and form, as well as their effects of destruction.
The travel of tsunamis is always alike. They travel fast across the ocean and end up on the shore of
some country. Cited from National Geographic Tsunamis race across the sea at over 500 miles an
hour, about as fast as a jet plane. At that pace, they can cross the entire expanse of the Pacific Ocean in
less than a day. ( Tsunamis ). This goes to show just unbelievably fast tsunamis can rip across the
ocean. When tsunamis cross the ocean, they are not fully formed gigantic waves rolling across an
ocean. Instead, they are about five feet tall at the maximum, Gravity acts quickly against the waves it
appears flat on the surface. BrainPOP explained that although the water appears flat, waves are
constantly moving fast, and can extend thousands of feet deep. The deeper the ocean is, the faster the
tsunami travels. When the depth gets shallower as it reaches the shore, it increases in size and
becomes the big wave that many know as a tsunami. Scientists detect and measure tsunamis before
they reach their destination. Stated in an article by Steven Ward, By analyzing seismic waves,
scientists can determine when and where an undersea earthquake has occurred and calculate its
strength. Therefore, they can discover tsunamis and warn the area that will be hit. Warnings are
needed because tsunamis can happen at any coast in the world. Tsunamis form through various
different things. They can be started from volcanoes, asteroids, landslides, and many other things, but
the most common is an undersea earthquake. BrainPOP proclaimed that as two tectonic plates press
together, the heavier plate slides under the lighter one and causes a disruption above. When

Ebola Virus In The Hot Zone
Ebola Zaire, arguably the deadliest known virus strain on earth, held a mortality rate up to ninety
percent in the past, and is the hottest type of Ebola Viral Diseases. In addition, there are four other
types of Ebola species: Ebola Sudan, Ebola Ivory Coast, Bundibugyo ebolavirus, and Ebola Reston.
Notably, the earliest of Ebola outbreaks being from Ebola Sudan and Ebola Zaire, both erupted during
1976 in Africa. Previously known as the Ebola haemorrhagic fever, these virus are known to cause
tremors and convulsions in its host, resulting in the splattering of blood which is used as its strategy
for transmission. Other ways of contracting Ebola is through contact with patient s bodily fluids and

Nuclear Waste In Australia Essay
The overarching question of, Should Nuclear Waste be Disposed of in South Australia? will be
answered in this outcome. Nuclear waste is material that has been used in a nuclear reactor. It looks
exactly the same on the outside, as it did when it went into the reactor (see Figure 1). Once nuclear
fission has taken place inside the reactor to make electricity, the Uranium breaks into many unstable
isotopes. These isotopes will remain radioactive for thousands of years. Hence, the need for more
nuclear waste storage facilities. A storage facility in South Australia would be geographically perfect
and hold low level (plastic), intermediate (see Figure 2) and high level waste, like spent uranium fuel
cells. The answer will be supported and derived from multiple sources, including; my survey data,
expert reports, statistics, graphs and tables.
Overall Question Should Nuclear Waste be Disposed of in South Australia?
According to public voting records, two thirds of South Australian citizens, are against the proposal of
a nuclear waste plant. This was similar to the results gained from the survey, since 82% of the
respondents were against. Despite these statistics, the positives of a nuclear waste plant in South
Australia, far outweigh ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

require federal approval and changes to the law. This decision will affect numerous generations to

Essay on Trapping Today Should be Legal, but Limited
Trapping Today Should be Legal, but Limited
Trapping is a very important issue, which is connected to many other larger issues. For instance,
trapping lies at the heart of the First
Nation s distinct society issue. Before I talk about the present, however,
I would like to discuss whether trapping should have been illegal when
Canada was first being settled in the 17th and 18th centuries.
When the first explorers came to the new world, it was regarded as a huge slab of worthless rock
standing between Europe and the riches of the
Orient. The only reason these explorers even explored this continent was the hope of finding the North
West passage, a route to the Orient.
Fortunately, while searching for this North West ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Relations with the Indians were shaky, at best. Some Indians befriended the French, and some
befriended the English. Some just gave their furs to the highest bidder. The relationship with the
Indians was more than just a trade agreement. The wars of the Indians were the wars of the French.
Now, imagine what would happen if one day, an Indian came to a
Frenchman and offered him a pelt. The Frenchman tells the Indian that not only will he not buy it, but
no Frenchman in New France will. Not only that, trapping furs in the forests belonging to the French
was not allowed. The relationships with the Indians which had taken so long to establish would be
shattered in days. The Indians would probably recognize the French as their enemies. Now not only
the enemies of the Indian friends of the
French would attack them, but also their friends . Settlers would again become afraid to come to New
France because of the fierce Indian attacks.
The French colony in New France would cease to exist. Therefore, I think trapping should have been
legal then. Now that I have talked about fur trapping then, I ll talk about it now. Unfortunately, it is
much more complicated now. Animal rights activists have told us that it is wrong to kill an animal for
its fur. I strongly agree with this opinion, especially since man made fur is so accessible.
Unfortunately, there are people who

Poaching in Africa
Endangered animals all over Africa are on the verge of extinction due to human greed. It is very
difficult to even fathom how many animals are lost each year to poaching. Animals are being stripped
for their parts and left for dead. Poaching has completely exhausted animal populations in Africa,
which damages the environment, and is affecting people all over the world both socially and through
international relations. Poaching is a growing activity in Africa and it is dangerously depleting animal
populations. Poaching is defined as the illegal killing of endangered and/or protected animals and
could also be considered hurting animals that are on protected land (Pedersen). If poaching is
continued, years of conservation and development would have been for nothing. For years, groups
have put work and money into keeping animals safe. Many people turn to poaching as an activity
because it s a quick way to make a lot of money as tusks of a single adult elephant can be worth more
than ten times the average annual income in many African countries . Rhino poaching rates were up
1000% at the beginning of the decade and is continuing to grow quickly ( The African Poaching Crisis
). Many, many animals and people are affected by this poaching. Poaching is the result of many other
issues. High demands in Asian markets mean more reward for poachers and without this demand there
would be no reason to poach at all ( Poaching Infographic ). Another cause of poaching is the

although she is not a mean character her main priority is that the work in the group gets done correctly
and on time. Since she is focused more on tasks she does not think that anything that would strengthen
moral such as gate keeping a conversation is important. She is much more likely to be seen as an
authoritarian leader. Some in the group such as Rachel are no always comfortable telling her their

relationship. The relationship between every daughter and their mother was different, but all of the joy

exceptionally so and even portrayed wanting their daughter to have it much better than they ever did.
For example, Lindo Jong and her daughter, Waverly Jong, had an interesting relationship. Lindo

This points further to the conclusion that she didn t put her children first just as the Joy Luck Club

compare it to my relationship with my mother. Similar to Lindo, my mother is proud of me and shows
that to the people around her. Although Waverly was ashamed of it in the novel, I am grateful that
mother speaks so highly of me. In the novel, June s feelings about wanting to live up to her mothers
expectation were really strong. I feel the same way in wanting to show my mom that I can go above
and beyond what she expects from me. In conclusion, this theme was displayed in every aspect of the

Violent Crime-Related Deaths In America
Two point six million Americans die each year, and it is of the utmost importance to understand how
and why. Cancer, heart disease, stroke, suicide, accidents, abortion, and homicide are all common
ways people in america die. With that many deaths, it is understandable to see why it is such a
prevalent topic for discussion. From the 662,435 abortions to the mere 15,046 homicides, death is
always a part of a major political debate. Violence related deaths are not properly represented in the
media, they cost less overall but more individually, there are far fewer than that of other causes, and
violent crime related deaths can be decreased significantly. They are, simply put, irrelevant in
comparison to the other ways Americans die.

Presently there is no cure for cancer, but there are many measures that can be taken to prevent a
violent crime. Cities all across the country have experimented with ways to reduce the amount of
violence in their areas. A key term to know, in order to better understand this topic, is a hot break in. A
hot break in is when a burglar enters a home, while the occupants are still in the building. Of the break
ins in America, only 13% were hot , while Canada had a 48%, and Britain with a 59%. Many assume
this to be due in some part to the gun ownership of America. Criminals in America are worried more
about getting themselves killed breaking into a house, than in those other countries. An example of
violence prevention, is the case of Kennesaw, Georgia. In 1982 the city was facing a serious home
invasion and homicide epidemic. Their crime rate was 25% higher than that of the state average at the
time. The mayor passed an ordinance requiring every home to have a gun. Within 2 months of the
ordinance being passed, burglaries had dropped 89%, and homicides had been significantly reduced.
The mayor then released a statement stating that, Gun ownership for home protection is considerably
more beneficial to the entire community than all other anti burglary measures. Another prime example
of a plan that effectively reduces violent crime, is Orlando, Florida. In the late 1960 s, there was a
serious rape epidemic. The city created a program training women in self defense tactics and firearm
use. While rape increased in the country and Florida, the amount of rapes dropped 88%, and as a
favorable side effect, burglaries dropped 22%, and there was a quantifiable decrease in homicides. An
unfortunate example of the increasing legislation to limit the rights of those who seek to defend
themselves is that of Amanda Collins. In October 2007 she had concealed carry permit, but the

early learning centre as well as a day care, helping them to learn basic early life lessons is needed.
In order to meet these key requirements there are certain things staff should know or be in the process
of learning. A few of my personal requirements include: * Creating an environment where children are

6. What is ethical behaviour? Describe an ethical dilemma you may face in the role of a child care
assistant. What would your thoughts and actions be in this dilemma?
Ethical behaviour is behaving appropriate and respecting the dignity, diversity and rights of
individuals. Caring for children can be complex is some professional situations, as you can find
yourself trying to meet the specific needs of a parent that do not agree with the child.
Ethical dilemma:
Jane has a one year old named Melissa. Melissa has a strict organic diet. Jane brings food from home
for Melissa and the food is prepared by the cook before lunch time. This is routine that has occurred
for about two weeks. Melissa has no allergies, but her mother is very particular about Melissa s diet.
On a particularly busy day, Chelsea the room leader has requested the babies to be placed in their high
chairs to get ready for lunch. Chelsea forgets to inform the new staff member Jess, of Melissa s
organic diet and Melissa consumes a serving of the others babies regular food.
As Chelsea is the room leader she will have to speak to Melissa s mother and inform her of the day s
events. Behaving ethically would be to tell the whole truth about what happened, making sure Melissa
s mother was completely aware of what Melissa ate. Although it was an accident and although Chelsea
can ensure it won t happen again, Jane would need to know everything.

How Is Conflict Presented in Bayonet Charg
How is conflict presented in Bayonet Charge and another poem?
Introduction
Conflict often has harmful effects, including causing death and destruction, so it is usually viewed
negatively. However, conflict can also bring out positive traits in people, and the people involved in it
may be respected. Bayonet Charge imagines a soldier s experience in battle. The Charge of The Light
Brigade recounts the story of the charge made by the Light Brigade in the Battle of Balaclava.
Language
One way conflicted is presented in Bayonet Charge is through the use of language. The language used,
portrays the soldier and his actions/movements. Ted Hughes uses sibilance to portray the soldier s
actions as well as feelings. For example, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Medicine In The Islamic Empire
Other than providing much of the grounds of modern medicine, medicine in the Islamic Empire was
innovatory, pre eminent and revolutionary. For instance, in 706 CE, the first hospital was built by
Muslims in Baghdad and the building of hospitals were continued until every major city in the Islamic
world had several hospitals, some specialised for certain areas of disease, including mental and
emotional. These hospitals were places of clinical training and learning for aspiring doctors as well as
treatment centres for patients. After performing physical examinations, working at ward rounds and
attending lectures, students were required to pass practical and oral exams for a doctor s license. As
well as having futuristic systems to supply a certified ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Advanced technology supported the high standard of living of the general population, and is still
upholding much of our standard of living today. A large proportion of today s technology is derived or
constructed upon the work of Muslim Inventors. During the 10th and 11th century, a famous Arab
astronomer and mathematician of the age, Ibn Al Haytham, became the first to have a correct
understanding of the human vision and was therefore able to create the first effective camera which
without, the modern camera would be impossible. The Da Vinci of the Islamic world, Ibn Firnas,
devised a flying costume during the 9th century. He launched himself off the side of a mountain
wearing his invention in order to test his device and became the first man to attempt controlled flight.
The experiment was partially successful as he remained aloft for a few seconds. The somewhat
successful glider later inspired Leonardo Da Vinci to design his own flying device which provided the
foundations of modern flight. The first automatic and mechanical clocks were also introduced by
Muslim inventors, most remarkable of which is the elephant clock a sizeable, automatic clock that
used Greek water raising technology, an Indian elephant, an Egyptian phoenix, Arabian figures and

Gilgamesh And Enkidu s Friendship
Gilgamesh and Enkidu s Friendship
In the Epic of Gilgamesh, friendship is a strong theme that drives the story. The bond that Gilgamesh
and Enkidu develop throughout the myth is a bond similar to that of brothers. Gilgamesh was fearless,
but arrogant and Enkidu was created by the gods specifically to keep the legacy crazed Gilgamesh in
check and to teach him humility; Enkidu becomes his conscience of sorts. Gilgamesh was oppressing
the people of Uruk and Enkidu and needed to put a stop to it by confronting and fighting him. From
what initially started as a violent encounter, their relationship bloomed into something that neither of
them could have expected. Their connection really takes off after their encounter with the giant
Hambaba and seals the deal on their friendship. They become basically inseparable and after Enkidu
passed it completely rocked Gilgamesh because he had lost a huge part of his life. Gilgamesh and
Enkidu s eventual bond is the perfect example of checks and balances within life making this oldest
hero s tale still very relevant today.
Gilgamesh was the son of the goddess Ninsun and the former King of Uruk Lugalbanda, this made
him one third man and two thirds god. He was created by Nintu, who is the great Mother Goddess, out
of clay. Many other gods had given him other qualities during his creation like beauty, courage, and
wisdom. Gilgamesh lived without any fear and did whatever he pleased even if it meant hurting
others. His behavior was so unruly

Modern Cinem Mise En Scene
Mostly spoken about in the world of cinema, mise en scéne also describes aspects in theatre. In the
instance of stage performance, mise en scéne includes all that is present on stage i.e. props, costumes,
lighting, use of space. In Mr. Burns: A Post Electric Play by Anne Washburn paying close attention to
what is present on stage is essential to understanding situation. In The First Act, the script directs there
to be four people around a fire, on a mixed arrangement of indoor chairs, sports or lawn chairs and a
fancy new couch, this set allows the audience to view the scene as something of a fuse of scavenged
materials, making it known that, in this point in civilization, it is essential to acquire anything that is
possible. There is no room for color schemes or meticulously considered arrangements, only
practicality. The Second Act, described as seven years later, calls for a cozy living room, letting the
audience know that progress has been made and it is appropriate to begin to consider aesthetic and
occasional luxury. With this consideration of mise en scéne comes a better understanding of how and
why a scene is presented the way it is. Bildungsroman, relating to that of a novel on formative years,
is prominent in Jean Rhys Wide Sargasso Sea. Antoinette begins as a wide eyed child, transitioning to
a girl hopelessly in love, and then a spiteful woman. Christophine, Antoinette s nurse, calls attention

Themes Of Unwholly Society
An Unwholly Society
The dystopian novel Unwholly, the second book in the Unwind series by Neal Shusterman, is a
twisted story of a futuristic world where life is not valued in the same way as it is today. When
government advertises and pays citizens to make bad choices, it makes the society corrupt and
inhumane. One corrupt thing about this society is that parents can choose to Unwind their children.
Unwinding is when parents can turn their kids over to the government and the government takes the
children apart and uses their body parts for different purposes. A possible theme for Unwholly is that
by following a corrupt society, people begin to develop selfish behavior.
Neal Shusterman uses intense actions and exaggerated description to make his books unique and to
help show the theme and help the reader picture the scene. One area of the book that shows
Shusterman s craft is Starkey s goodbye scene. The book states Stop! yells their father, as their mother
begins to cry (Shusterman 7). These mixed emotions between the parents add emphasis to the scene
and show the reader that the parents are not happy with the situation. The father yelling is included to
show that he was upset and that he was scared, and because the father felt this way the reader can
conclude that he was pressured into unwinding his son. While the father is yelling, Starkey s mother is
crying. Crying is very different from yelling, but when Starkey s mother cries it is another

Aeneas As A Hero And Leader Essay
Throughout Virgil s Aeneid, Aeneas is often confronted with situations where he must sacrifice his
personal happiness in order to ensure the future of the shattered Trojan community. Aeneas persistent
adherence to his own destiny, along with his unceasing concern for the welfare of his Trojan people,
defines his sense of duty throughout his journeys. Driven constantly by intense passion and deep
emotion, Aeneas fortifies his sense of duty and fraternal love for his fellow Trojans and allies, but at
the same time fails to retain this sense and compassion for his fellow man. Through Aeneas, Virgil
highlights the darker undertones of Augustan rule. In his journey, Aeneas encounters a multitude of
trials and tribulations, each refining an integral characteristic of his role as a hero and leader. Duty
bound Aeneas , as Virgil regularly describes him, chooses to end his affair with the Carthaginian
Queen Dido, appointing duty to a higher level of importance than love (I.519). The remorse displayed
by Aeneas as he placates her spirit in the Underworld demonstrates his sincere regret for having hurt
her. With regards to Dido, Aeneas chooses to fulfill his divine responsibility rather than succumb to
emotion. However, in his struggle with the Latins, Aeneas displays inconsistent behavior and a lack of
such a defined moral code, culminating in the killing of Turnus. Turnus pleads with Aeneas to return
his body to his father , yet instead of honoring Turnus request for a proper

Etiology: The cause of this disorder is due to genetic and/or environmental factors that can inhibit fetal
movement before birth resulting in joint contractures. The exact cause of the disorder is still unknown.
The extrinsic factors include decreased intrauterine movement, oligohydramnios, defects in fetal blood
supply, hyperthermia, or viral infections. Intrinsic factors include defects in muscle and connective
tissue as well as neurological abnormalities.
Pathophysiology: Some theories are due to gene mutations, which can be missense mutations where
the mutation leads to a different amino acid, or single gene defects. Other theories are due to
mitochondria and chromosome defects. Muscle and connective tissue disorders are usually due to
abnormal function of the dystrophin glycoprotein associated complex in the sarcolemma of skeletal

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Film Grain Noise
J. Dai, Oscar C. A., C. Pang, W. Yang and F. Zou [4] proposed technique of film grain noise which is
inherent in analog film stock and is generated in the process of exposing and developing silver halide
crystals. Film grain noise can be modeled as a zero mean Gaussian noise and the noise variance varies
with the intensity of noise free signal. Film grain noise is temporally independent. Film grain noise is
spatially correlated. The higher the image resolution is, the more likely that the viewer will perceive
the film grain noise. For high definition videos, the film grain noise is clearly noticeable, and it is the
essential part of the natural look of the video, thus, it is desired to maintain in the encoded video.

Because the number of skipped blocks increases with increasing QP, the complexity of framework
becomes relatively high with increasing QPs compared with the unmodified HEVC.
item Increasing the sliding step size also reduces the efficiency of the FDF based algorithms.
item For example, using a sliding step size of two reduces the complexity by a factor of four and at
the same time also the average bitrate savings are reduced by approximately 2%.
item Together with the noise estimation process, the complexity of the whole in loop denoising
framework is approximately twice the complexity of the interpolation filter, which is especially visible
for high QPs in which the motion compensation process dominates the decoding complexity.

Byod Mobile Plan For Wickid Candles
WickID Candles is a candle company that features customizable candles that can define a person s
mood or personality hence the ID in the name. This franchise currently has twenty five stores in five
states (North Carolina, Massachusetts, New York, Illinois, and Washington). WickID Candles has 500
employees that work in one of our five departments. The departments vary from sales, advertising,
accounting, manufacturing, and transportation. Even though our manufacturing and transportation
crews work together, they are two separate teams. In addition, our sales department also has two
individual groups within the department. The first group of employees focus on in store sales, while

If WickID Candles implements the BYOD plan, each employee would be able to use their personal
cell phones for work purposes. They will be used to keep up with the workplace environment at home
or whenever they are out of the office. This will allow to them have access to personal work data
whether via their work email or access to the company s personal sites. With BYOD, employees
would be able to use their mobile devices to interact with customers, manage accounts, and even
create new aspects of our online store. This plan would potentially give workers the flexibility to work
at the leisure of their homes and to continue to work without being tied to the office. Our goal is that
this will increase engagement with customers and increase work productivity. IBM states that there are
three main benefits of BYOD. There s an increase in productivity and innovation, employees are
satisfied, and the company can sometimes save money. Keep in mind that the benefits all depend on
the situation. When employees are motivated to work, productivity is high. According to IBM,
employees are more comfortable with their personal phones and tend to have upgraded versions. The
enterprise will then benefit from the latest features on the employees phones allowing them to be more
productive. With that,

People s Understanding Of Food
People s understanding of food is shaped by many different things. For example, a Wendy s Power
Mediterranean Chicken Salad, Half sized would be viewed differently by what a person considers
healthy , how they want their body to look like, where they come from, their income level, and
whether they are male or female. Wendy s description of its salad says Here s the nutrient rich, protein
packed fuel you need to power through your day. Always fresh grilled chicken teams up with a savory
ensemble of feta cheese, hummus, and sundried tomato quinoa blend to take this salad to the next
level. This product is available at participating locations. It has 230 calories, 5 grams of fiber, and 20
grams of protein. When it comes to health and the Wendy s salad I view it as a healthier option
compared to the rest of the menu. I would pick this when I feel like eating something that I would
consider is good for me and giving me nutrients. It would make me feel better about myself if I eat the
salad over a cheesburger or chicken nuggets. Someone like Michael Pollan would view this salad as a
healthier option than anything else on the Wendy s menu since it is more plant based with the lettuce,
but he probably still would not recommend it. In his 9 pieces of advice he claims Avoid even those
food products that come bearing health claims (Pollan 13). In the wendy s description it includes many
health claims like nutrient rich , Always fresh , and low amount of calories. Pollan

Nietzsche s Critique of Judeo-Christian Values
Nietzsche s critique of Judeo Christian values
As perhaps one of the most important pieces of work written by Nietzsche, On the Genealogy of
Morality contains some of his most complex and provocative thoughts on the nature of morality and
its origins. It is evident throughout his essays that Nietzsche has a profound discontent with modern
society and its values, a discontent that Nietzsche attempts to explain through a thorough critique of
the modern values that have stemmed from the rise of Judeo Christianity values that have shaped
today s civilization. In his analysis of concepts such as morality and guilt, he explores the history of
the deformation of the once noble and animalistic human society that succumbed to its death ... Show

Essentially, their intelligence became their weapon against the nobles. Nietzsche expresses this when
he states priests make the worst enemies...because they are the most powerless. Out of this
powerlessness, their hate swells into something huge and uncanny to a most intellectual and poisonous
level (17). Among all of the priestly caste, however, Nietzsche identifies the Jews to be the most
hateful, and characterizes them as being the most entrenched with priestly vengefulness (17). The
desire of the clerical caste to effect their revenge on the nobles in the form of a revaluation of the their
moral code was the embodiment of their ressentiment turning itself from thought and into action.
Nietzsche expresses this when he states The beginning of the slaves revolt in morality occurs when
ressentiment itself turns creative and gives birth to values: the ressentiment of those beings who,
denied the proper response of action, compensate for it only with imaginary revenge (20). Nietzsche
associates the slave revolt in morality with the priestly castes, namely the Jews , dedicated and
deliberate desire to implement their revenge through the creation and revaluation of morals, stating
with regard to the huge and incalculably disastrous initiative taken by the Jews with this most
fundamental of all declarations of war...the slaves revolt in morality begins with the Jews: a revolt
which has two thousand years of history behind it (17).

  • 2. Average Music Review Sample How cool! Co founder and original lead singer of Yes, Jon Anderson, has joined forces with prog rocks Roine Stolt, of The Flower Kings, and together as Anderson / Stolt, are releasing a new studio release called; Anderson / Stolt The Invention Of Knowledge. Comes out the 24th of June, via InsideOut Music. News about the project been out for a while before I got wind of it. Being a music reviewer, and having made a reputation for myself focusing on progressive rock music, and because of already being a fan of Jon Anderson, and Roine Stolt, I immediately began emailing around to see how quick I could acquire an advanced copy. The idea, so I could get a write up on it, out it s first week of release. Ends up I score, so now all I have to do ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While the music plays, I start researching. I come across a couple quotes from Jon Anderson, and Roine Slolt included in a press release about the project: Jon: .....Music is always the driving force in my life...working with such a wonderful musician as Roine Stolt made the creation of this album very unique. We are very excited with the release of Invention of Knowledge . Roine Stolt adds: It is not aiming at being new Yes music; just new music, modern and classical, rock and ethno, tribal and orchestrated, grooving and floating. Hopefully in the true spirit of progressive leaning forward, surprising and also comforting with familiar run arounds. We ve been inventing as we go along Jon is an endless source of new ideas. We ve been bouncing ideas back and forth for months and as a result there are probably dozens of versions of these songs. It s been a very interesting and rewarding time and the result is just insanely detailed. I worked with The Flowers Kings duo of Jonas Reingold on bass and Felix Lehrmann on drums, with Tom Brislin on keyboards. Tom had done the Yes Symphonic Tour, and I knew him well. It was important for me to be comfortable with the musicians at this stage, because that way I was more relaxed about telling them how we wanted it all to sound. If I had been in the studio with people who were strangers, then I might have felt more ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Vanadium is used a lot in tools like wrenches and many other stainless steel. Why you may ask? It has a certain property ill tell you later on about. Vanadium was first discovered by a Mexican chemist named Andres Manuel Del Rio. He sent a sample and a letter to The Institute of France in Paris, France. Unfortunately, the letter was lost in a ship wreck. So only the sample made it to the institute. Rio had first named this metal erythronium. The atomic number for vanadium is 23. The melting point is 1910 Degrees Celsius. The boiling point is 3407 degrees Celsius. The atomic mass is 50.9414 it also looks like aluminum but ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Community-Associated MRSA Methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus is not uncommon in hospitals and other healthcare facilities. It is one of the top, most problematic nosocomial infections currently being seen, and battled. A newer strain of MRSA, Community Associated, is now becoming almost as prevalent as the Healthcare Associated, and is continuing to grow substantially in number. With Community Associated Methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (CA MRSA) on the rise in the United States, and rapidly gaining on the more common Healthcare Associated MRSA, the need for scientists and doctors to not only define / classify this gram negative bacteria, but also to learn how it is transmitted, the characteristics promoting its survival, and how to prevent the spread ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Outpatient frequency of CA MRSA continues to increase, and it is believed that this is a huge factor in not replacing, but adding to the increase in HA MRSA. (3) CA MRSA is easily spread among young, healthy individuals predominantly by skin to skin contact, and in places where close contact or overcrowding of people is common. This we know includes many areas of our society thus leading to the cause of why it affects the healthier people in our communities. Because of the strain of CA MRSA and its virulence factors, scientists are trying to research better ways to battle this gram negative bacterium. Unfortunately, the funding is not usually there. Awareness and prevention are the keys to stopping CA MRSA from spreading not only among individuals in the community, but also being transmitted into the hospitals already battling MRSA. Proper hand hygiene is number one in prevention, and should be taken seriously by everyone, not just healthcare workers. If we want to battle this growing endemic disease, we must all do our part and make others aware. Since it targets mainly the healthy younger individuals in and around our communities, and across the nation, we all need to be a part of the solution not just the healthcare ... • 5. Clark University Application Essay My interest with Clark University began prior to my college experience, by hearing Dr. Goldberg and other Clark Professors on NPR and in the media, discussing the topics that I now consider my primary research interests. As an undergraduate student I continued to listen to these interviews and look into the research they cited, which eventually lead me to the psychology programs and active labs of Clark University. I was extremely interested in the opportunities I saw for research and teaching assistantship. As someone with experience as a teacher s assistant, I know how well it can help both socially and financially. Such a partnership helps students engage student body, build rapport with professors, and gain active experience and competence in their field. By having these assistantships available, Clark University is showing a dedication to student support and success both in and beyond the university. I was also attracted to the collaboration between department and local hospitals, schools, head start programs, and has had joint programs with the Clark University Medical school. Not only did I ... Crvical Cancer Essay With more than 500,000 new cases being detected each year, cervical cancer is one of the leading causes of cancer affecting women worldwide.1, 2 A very high burden of cervical cancer mortality is found in developing countries, where nearly 9 out of 10 cases result in cervical cancer related mortality among women.3, 4 These healthcare disparities can be largely explained by the lack of access to effective cervical cancer screening programs in low resource settings, such as Sub Saharan Africa (SSA), that allow for early detection and treatment.5 African women have an extremely high incidence of cervical cancer, with approximately 420,000 new cases, half of which die per year.6 Kenya has the second highest incidence of invasive cervical cancer (ICC) in Africa.6,7 The ... This maybe due to immune suppression seen with HIV.22 Moreover, cervical lesions are twice as likely to progress to high grade cervical intra epithelial neoplasia (HGCIN) in HIV infected women as compared to HIV negative women.23 This could be due to the inability of the immune system to clear HPV in advanced precancerous and cancerous lesions.21, 24, 25 However, studies have found that the rates of invasive cervical cancer (ICC) do not increase with decreasing CD4+ counts.26 Researchers attribute this finding to the long latency period prior to the development of invasive cervical disease, during which, HIV infected women end up dying of other complications of their HIV before ICC affects ... Creativity is crucial to attract potential buyers and gain more sales. To target specific prospects through ads, the automobile industry usually apply rhetoric concepts to enhance their product s appeal in every way, and not just purely on the automobile designs. As men are the main target audience, car ads are usually being advertised as appealing and dangerous. Therefore, it can be said that Toyota cars can be used by everyone and everywhere, however, the attitude of the driver is still very important. Looking at how the commercial emphasize on the calmness and the family being the passengers, for instance, the mother looking back to check out on the son after the near death experience or the pre collision, Toyota is trying to show how important it is to take safety measure seriously as the driver is responsible over the life of others passengers. • 11. The Lokia And Like The Leaves By Graciela Huinao And Two... Scars that can t be seen, are the hardest to heal. This phrase can be connected to the two literary poems, The Lokia, written by Graciela Huinao and Like the Leaves poet by Humberto Ak abal. In The Lokia, expresses the grief of the Native Americans of losing their properties to the Europeans. Similarity, the second poem Like the Leaves, illustrates that a tree is a figure of a Native American losing their culture and themselves to the injustices of their society. Both of these two poems are then connected to a historical text, Canada s Hidden History, My Mother and Me, authored by Gabrielle Scrimshaw. In Canada s Hidden History, My Mother and Me communicate the injustice events of the Native Americans has to endure; only lived the role of a bystander. In the two literary poems, The Lokia, written by Graciela Huinao and Like the Leaves by Humberto Ak abal, the two authors used symbolism to convey the scars of the Native American society, which it can never be healed. The two poems, however, advocate becoming an upstander that stands against the injustices. The Loika, who can only sing in sorrow, is a representation of the scars in the Native Americans that can t do anything to stop the conqueror. The Loika sings, for the loss of its home, property, and resources. Huinao expresses, Loika, why do you sing, if your voice wavers? INTRODUCTION The new media announces a new period of media development in the world over, it is the one that preaches the significance of new communications technologies. The new media is not just a kind of information technology but also part and parcel of the social being of man in this modern society. At the threshold of this fairly new millennium (2000 A.D.), there was a sporadic turn around in the existing branches of the global media. This catapulted the world into a new information order that forcefully attempted to erode the conventional media. This turn around made the traditional media¡¦s dictators and gatekeepers to loose their hold. The sub ¡V editors, and editors who control what comes into the news, and by implication, what ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Dominick 2005: 312 THEORETICAL PERSPECTIVE To best understand the thematic preoccupation of this work, the concept of critical mass theory as it applies to the adoption of a new communication technology is desirable and would be used. The term comes from physics, where critical mass refers to the minimum amount of material needed to trigger and sustain a radioactive chain reaction. The term has been loosely applied to communication and refers to the minimum number of people needed as adopters before a new communication technology can have a permanent place in the society Kaye and Medoff, 2001. Williams, Strover and Grant (1994) corroborate An interesting aspect of the critical mass perspective is that widespread use appears to have a snowball effect. Once a perceived critical mass is using the technology, those without it are strongly motivated to adopt it. The reasoning here is that despite the drawbacks, such as cost or difficulty in using the technology, people (and institutions) are pressured to adopt the technology because failure to do so may exclude them from existing communication networks. Markus (1987), while making a case for the adoption of interactive communication technologies, suggested three propositions in the adoption process as cited in Kaye and Medoff (2001). First, the adoption and use of technology is an ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Eating is necessary in order to live; but to eat with knowledge is a talent in it self. Unhealthy eating is one of the fastest growing health risks today. Obesity is a contributing factor which leads to many deadly illnesses and is spreading throughout the nation. There is a way to stop this killer and healthy eating is the cure. Once cheese, bacon, sour cream, and butter are added, one begins pushing the limits of healthy eating. The key for most people is to listen to what their conscience is saying. One of the first questions to consider is; is there a feeling of hunger? If the answer happens to be no, then individuals should focus their mind on other activities such as reading, walking, or bicycling. One should take advantage of physical activities he or she and his or her acquaintances enjoy doing together (Eating Healthy, 2006). When friends join each other in making healthy eating choices and keeping fit, the success rate for accomplishing set goals becomes much greater. The possibilities of achieving and maintaining good health is influenced by the company someone chooses to keep. One should inform friends and family about new dieting goals and encourage them to eat healthy as well. Doing so will develop a support system and encourage all to develop healthy lifestyles. There are steps that people can take to begin making the change to a healthier life. First, eat in modesty by portioning out correct serving sizes. • 14. International Contracts And International Sale Contracts A conflict of laws is a major issue that usually arises in international commercial transactions. International characters in the transaction create questions, such as which court has jurisdiction over the case, which law is applicable to the case and will the judgment enforceable. One possible way to avoid the risk of a conflict of laws is to harmonise laws relating to international sales into uniform law or a convention for worldwide adoption. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG), known as the Vienna Convention, is one of the results from the harmonisation of international trade law. Although there are many supports to this convention, the argument of its effectiveness still continues and some countries still not ratify. International sale contracts are not quite similar to domestic sale contracts as the international character cannot be found in domestic contracts. The first character is the movement of goods which travel from one state to another state, no matter where the seller s and the buyer s places of business are. Another character is the different places of business of both parties which means that both parties have different legal systems. Involving with property, parties or events located in more than one jurisdiction and the laws of those jurisdictions are different, a conflict of laws issue might arise in a dispute between parties. The differences between laws of each country also create uncertainty in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Twelve for me means none of that. Twelve marks the year when a member of the Nazi party could knock on our door and take me away. Twelve marks the age that I might never see my family again. Growing up with the frenzy of the war outside my bedroom window seized my childish qualities and innocence away from me. I do not have the option to play in the street like the others. I cannot casually walk in the Berlin plaza freely, as it seems that every five seconds a Nazi soldier stops to question me. I have seen guiltless people shot to death on the sidewalk by ruthless soldiers under Adolf Hitler s command. I have seen brainwashed boys that I used to go to school with do the dirty work for Hitler. I have seen things that the little boys and girls in America have not even seen in their nightmares. Being only eleven years old, I cannot remember the day my older brother went with the soldiers. They took him to a camp in order to train in order to be like them. • 16. Beyond Scared Straight Summary Established in the 1970 s, Scared Straight programs began to get introduced throughout the United States as a method of deterrence for young teens in an attempted to keep them out of jail. A normal program usually consists of an at risk teen visiting an adult prison to find out what it was really like to be placed somewhere they are unable to leave. The teen learns of the harsh conditions that real prison inmates have to endure while behind bars. Facility managers set up an itinerary for the teens to follow as they tour the jail and live as though they were prisoners for a full day. This would put the at risk youths up against an aggressive in your face confrontation with the inmates. They would get to listen to the inmate s stories and have a one on one counseling session to really hit home on how the next few years are going to be determined after they leave. However, no matter how well the intentions may be to attempt and rehabilitate the teens, research has shown that many of approaches proved ineffective. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 17. Description of Ambulatory Care and Hospitalization Care Essay As early as the 1990 s, outpatient care only made up for 10 to 15% of a hospital s total profits, compared to inpatient care. Since the start of the twenty first century, this figure has increased to approximately 60%. This shift in healthcare has been occurring in different medical organizations such as university medical centers, local hospitals, for profit chains, and not for profit suppliers. The increase in outpatient services compared to inpatient has been showing no indication of slowing down. The main reason for the development in outpatient care is because of all the medical advancements in techniques and technology that allow for patients to be treated less invasively. The incentive for ASCs is to emphasize volume and higher rates, while hospitals are considered to regulate utilization. Looking closely, the main purpose originates from ASCs lower cost profile compared to hospitals with the additional benefit of the likely to evade inpatient expenditure. Within ambulatory clinics, there are three levels of service that are preformed based on the type of diagnosis and treatment recommendations. Level one ambulatory service is considered an option to inpatient care with both patient and service parts that corresponds with the point of intensity. The role of this level is to offer alleviation from acute symptom reducing mechanisms such as less severe residential constituents such as the family treatment home for children. • 18. A Brief Note On Nanoparticles And Its Effect On The... 2.3.4.3 Nanomaterials Nanoparticles (NPs) have recently received special attention because of their better performance when compared with traditional mineral additions. The addition of NPs can improve the properties of concrete due to the effect that the increased surface area has on reactivity and through filling the NPs of the cement paste. Some of these nano particles include Silicon dioxide, Copper oxide, Zinc peroxide, Titanium dioxide. The addition of silicon dioxide or titanium dioxide NPs improves the consistency of SCC mixes. Less bleeding and segregation are also observed in the SCC mixes containing these NPs. Also the addition of silicon dioxide or titanium dioxide NPs lead to a higher T50 time, which can be expected to improve the segregation resistance. Jalal et al. (2012, 2013). The incorporation of silicon dioxide NPs increases the V funnel times of SCC mixes. Madandoust et al. Apart from this problem, there are many other obstacles like inaccurate results in search of a particular medical problem and even if you do find accurate results, it becomes hard to put all information at one place retrieved from various sources. In order to overcome the above problems, we are developing a one stop clinical trials user friendly application that addresses all the related problems. Moreover, just how much can we get out of a story based on narrative voice alone? After reading A Pair of Tickets by Amy Tan and Cathedral by Raymond Carver, it is clear that narrative viewpoint truly drives the emotions and understanding a reader experiences while reading. Both A Pair of Tickets and Cathedral are told from a first person viewpoint, and that dictates the tone and message the story sends to readers. A Pair of Tickets is a story about a middle aged woman who is embarking on her first trip to China. The 36 year old woman named Jing Mei never really embraced the idea of being Chinese. She notes that in middle school all of her friends talked about how they were more Chinese than she was. The bulk of the story takes place while Jing Mei is en route to China, and along the way her father who is accompanying her on the trip tells her several stories about her recently deceased Chinese mother. As the story progresses, Jing Mei begins to embrace her Chinese heritage, and realizes that although she was raised with an American way of thinking, it does not truly define who she is or has o be. Hegemony is the idea that people in power maintain power by influencing societies acceptance of their ideologies rather than using coercion (Rachar 2013, p. 238). In this time and age, this is performed by the control of media resources and Internet opinion (Kumar 2011, p.39). Media suppliers are highly experienced at emotive and persuasive content and reap the financial rewards of ratings (Edwards 2012, p. 69). • 26. Causes And Effects Of Tsunamis Run for your life! screams a little Indonesian boy. An eighty foot tall water wave of pure terror barrels towards him and millions of other people. On December 26, 2004, an enormous tsunami wrecked Indonesia, killed nearly 200,000, and left over half a million more homeless. This is not the only time something like this happens. Tsunamis happen all over the world, and they are common. They vary in size and destruction but are all very similar. Tsunamis are unique natural disasters due to the way they travel and form, as well as their effects of destruction. The travel of tsunamis is always alike. They travel fast across the ocean and end up on the shore of some country. Cited from National Geographic Tsunamis race across the sea at over 500 miles an hour, about as fast as a jet plane. At that pace, they can cross the entire expanse of the Pacific Ocean in less than a day. ( Tsunamis ). This goes to show just unbelievably fast tsunamis can rip across the ocean. When tsunamis cross the ocean, they are not fully formed gigantic waves rolling across an ocean. Instead, they are about five feet tall at the maximum, Gravity acts quickly against the waves it appears flat on the surface. BrainPOP explained that although the water appears flat, waves are constantly moving fast, and can extend thousands of feet deep. The deeper the ocean is, the faster the tsunami travels. When the depth gets shallower as it reaches the shore, it increases in size and becomes the big wave that many know as a tsunami. Scientists detect and measure tsunamis before they reach their destination. Stated in an article by Steven Ward, By analyzing seismic waves, scientists can determine when and where an undersea earthquake has occurred and calculate its strength. Therefore, they can discover tsunamis and warn the area that will be hit. Warnings are needed because tsunamis can happen at any coast in the world. Tsunamis form through various different things. They can be started from volcanoes, asteroids, landslides, and many other things, but the most common is an undersea earthquake. BrainPOP proclaimed that as two tectonic plates press together, the heavier plate slides under the lighter one and causes a disruption above. When ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

For example, Lindo Jong and her daughter, Waverly Jong, had an interesting relationship. Lindo always wanted Waverly to strive in her childhood talent, chess. In the novel, June s feelings about wanting to live up to her mothers expectation were really strong. I feel the same way in wanting to show my mom that I can go above and beyond what she expects from me. • 38. Violent Crime-Related Deaths In America Two point six million Americans die each year, and it is of the utmost importance to understand how and why. Cancer, heart disease, stroke, suicide, accidents, abortion, and homicide are all common ways people in america die. With that many deaths, it is understandable to see why it is such a prevalent topic for discussion. From the 662,435 abortions to the mere 15,046 homicides, death is always a part of a major political debate. Violence related deaths are not properly represented in the media, they cost less overall but more individually, there are far fewer than that of other causes, and violent crime related deaths can be decreased significantly. They are, simply put, irrelevant in comparison to the other ways Americans die. Violent crime ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Presently there is no cure for cancer, but there are many measures that can be taken to prevent a violent crime. Cities all across the country have experimented with ways to reduce the amount of violence in their areas. A key term to know, in order to better understand this topic, is a hot break in. A hot break in is when a burglar enters a home, while the occupants are still in the building. Of the break ins in America, only 13% were hot , while Canada had a 48%, and Britain with a 59%. Many assume this to be due in some part to the gun ownership of America. Criminals in America are worried more about getting themselves killed breaking into a house, than in those other countries. An example of violence prevention, is the case of Kennesaw, Georgia. In 1982 the city was facing a serious home invasion and homicide epidemic. Their crime rate was 25% higher than that of the state average at the time. The mayor passed an ordinance requiring every home to have a gun. Within 2 months of the ordinance being passed, burglaries had dropped 89%, and homicides had been significantly reduced. The mayor then released a statement stating that, Gun ownership for home protection is considerably more beneficial to the entire community than all other anti burglary measures. Another prime example of a plan that effectively reduces violent crime, is Orlando, Florida. In the late 1960 s, there was a serious rape epidemic. The city created a program training women in self defense tactics and firearm use. While rape increased in the country and Florida, the amount of rapes dropped 88%, and as a favorable side effect, burglaries dropped 22%, and there was a quantifiable decrease in homicides. An unfortunate example of the increasing legislation to limit the rights of those who seek to defend themselves is that of Amanda Collins. In October 2007 she had concealed carry permit, but the ... The bond that Gilgamesh and Enkidu develop throughout the myth is a bond similar to that of brothers. Gilgamesh was fearless, but arrogant and Enkidu was created by the gods specifically to keep the legacy crazed Gilgamesh in check and to teach him humility; Enkidu becomes his conscience of sorts. Gilgamesh was oppressing the people of Uruk and Enkidu and needed to put a stop to it by confronting and fighting him. From what initially started as a violent encounter, their relationship bloomed into something that neither of them could have expected. Their connection really takes off after their encounter with the giant Hambaba and seals the deal on their friendship. Aeneas persistent adherence to his own destiny, along with his unceasing concern for the welfare of his Trojan people, defines his sense of duty throughout his journeys. Driven constantly by intense passion and deep emotion, Aeneas fortifies his sense of duty and fraternal love for his fellow Trojans and allies, but at the same time fails to retain this sense and compassion for his fellow man. Through Aeneas, Virgil highlights the darker undertones of Augustan rule. In his journey, Aeneas encounters a multitude of trials and tribulations, each refining an integral characteristic of his role as a hero and leader. Duty bound Aeneas , as Virgil regularly describes him, chooses to end his affair with the Carthaginian Queen Dido, appointing duty to a higher level of importance than love (I.519). The remorse displayed by Aeneas as he placates her spirit in the Underworld demonstrates his sincere regret for having hurt her. With regards to Dido, Aeneas chooses to fulfill his divine responsibility rather than succumb to emotion.
