Disadvantages Of A Broadway Strike
Any negotiator considering items to included in contract cannot afford to overlook the impact of the
united states entertainment industry throughout the world Wilson, J. (1991). Artist often need to deal
with low compensation compared to the one, who have been with the industry for a long time, hence,
it was quite essential to have a couple of union for providing a fair value for the artists. The strike is
often considered as a last remedy to provide benefits for the labors and workers. It would be
disadvantage for both producers and the artists, as we have seen writers guide of America organized
the longest strike, which cost the industry so much money. It is always considered to negotiate face to
face with the concerned person to provide a fair value, which the union is demanding, Labor staged a
Broadway strike harsh working conditions. It would take lawsuits strikes, and hardliner negotiations
for Hollywood artists to receive more rights. This often required artists to take risks, such as
suspensions or firing in the hope of better treatment (O.C.,Ferrell, G.A. Hirt, L. Ferrell, 2014).
.Striking carries out normal operations of business at it s best and impossible at its worse. Strike can
cause low wages and poor condition (O.C.,Ferrell, G.A. Hirt, L. Ferrell, 2014). So many problem can

Summary Of An Act Of Vengeance
Isabels short story, An Act of Vengeance is an example of the power she depicts towards women along
with her foundation, The Isabel Allende Foundation which she states, Empowers women and girls
worldwide . In her text, in which a young teen s father is killed by the same man who raped her and
took away dignity and reason for living building up hate towards him. The irony is as Allende states,
She searched her heart for the hatred she had cultivated throughout those thirty years, but she was
incapable of finding...Then she understood with horror that by thinking about him every moment, and
savoring his punishment in advance, her feelings had become reversed and she had fallen in love with
him (Allende#1). The hatred and punishment she wanted to give him for what he did turned into an
unstoppable love. Isabel Allende is a strong feminist and it can be seen throughout her writing, reason
for this is her personal experiences, causing it to change the way she refers when writing about the
opposite sex.
Our last author would be Charlotte Perkins Gilman, author of The Yellow Wallpaper showing how
personal experiences can be a great influence when it comes to writing down their feelings in a piece
of paper. Stating the difficulty she had for various years: For many years I suffered from a severe and
continuous nervous breakdown tending... I went, in devout faith and some faint stir of hope, to a noted

The Launch of a Women’s Radio Station in the City of...
This case study looks at the launch of a women s radio station in the city of Herat, Afghanistan, in the
year 2003. It follows four Afghan women journalists struggles in balancing the demands of a highly
conservative culture on the one hand, and the objectives of their Canadian journalism trainers on the
other.
Kamal explains that Media development takes on many different forms in different areas of the world.
Rather than being a force for sustaining difference, the media is deliberately employed by media
development organisations as a vehicle for challenging unequal gender relations. Women s rights and
social justice are promoted in media content, and women s participation is often a precondition for
funding for media projects. She ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While the radio station had officially been granted a licence from the Ministry of Information and
Culture in Kabul, Ismail Khan s power base in the west was very strong, and the central government
had very little power to enforce its policies in Herat. As a result, during the process of setting up the
radio station, there was much concern when Ismail Khan chose not to offer any written guarantee that
the operation would receive his sanction.
He was, however, an advocate of women s education. By describing the women s radio station as a
tool for women s instruction and culture, and inviting the Canadian ambassador to Afghanistan to the
radio station s launch, Radio Sahar was able to receive Ismail Khan s last minute support. Radio Sahar
was launched in October 2003.
The women usually had very little time to prepare the shows; they would use the time available to
them during the playing of songs or pre packaged programmes to plan for the next day (and on all too
frequent bad days, for the next half hour) of radio broadcasts. The designated host would pre script
introductions to shows when she could, and practise excerpts of poetry to declaim on the air, while the
designated helpers would call and invite guests to lecture, or participate in occasional roundtables.

Analysis Of Ruination And Drosscape
Ruination and Drosscape
Ruination is a recurring theme through the creative field; primarily in art, art theory and poetry. There
is a grand human reaction to ruin that transcends this word into a conceptual state. It is a concept that
artists have had an abiding interest in, which has in turn led the conception of the modern ruin. My
uncoverage of this concept has been through a multitude of resources whilst researching for my own
artistic practise. Art theorists and artists have thematically looked to ruin as an aid to understand
human nature and the ways in which we cope with the rapidly developing world around us through a
sentimentality for what is past and lost. There is a need to discern this reaction to ruin and to
simultaneously validate it. Ruins hold a curious charm that is produced by the coinciding state of
decay and regeneration, which oscillate randomly and chaotically. Ruins draw people in and inspire
creation. Similarly, art necessarily develops from the past s foundation, the neglected; without a break,
and wherever it may end up, reference to the past remains. Ruin provokes nostalgia for the aesthetic
forms and iconography of the former, resulting in an ongoing phenomenon that recycles and
regenerates in art and art theory.
In Allan Smith s Essay Entropic steps: Rocks, ruins, and increase in John Ruskin, Robert Smithson,
and Per Kirkeby, he triangulates the writings of Ruskin, Smithson and Kirkeby, in order to show a
breadth of reaction to ruin (primarily

What Is The Theme Of Freedom In Barn Night
The novel portrays the american theme of freedom throughout the entire book. It is shown between
every character in the forms of spirit, adventure, new challenges, and through the past that brought
them to the boarding school. One major event in the novel applies to the theme of freedom and it is
what happens after the Barn Night prank. After the Barn Night prank was accomplished and the group
of pranksters had returned from the glory of the Smoking Hole, Alaska and Pudge fall asleep together
when she wakes up in the middle of the night to a phone call. Rushing off campus, the group wonders
where she could have gone only to realize the next morning that she had died in a car accident. The
car accident was uncertain as to whether it was a suicide or a accident, but was caused when Alaska
remembered the day of her mother s death and tried to get free to her gravesite. Freedom is a part of in
this portion of the novel because it shows how Alaska running after the spirit of her mother that was
left and the openness of the possibilities that remind her of how she forgot about her mother´s death.
Initiation is the aging or growing up of a person to establish independence or adulthood. Two of the
most important characters that showed the initiation in the book were Alaska Young and Miles
¨Pudge¨ Halter. Alaska Young expressed her maturity and independence through her actions of caring
less and being brave. During Barn Night, when they shot off fireworks to distract the Eagle from

College Admissions Flaws
On top of exceptional students getting declined, prestigious schools are accepting less qualified
students such as legacies, athletes, and minorities, contributing to the flawed system. Rather than
admitting students based on their potential to succeed and personal attributes alone, universities often
admit slightly inferior candidates in order to increase their diversity population and maintain a
dedicated alumni. In A is For Admission, Michele Hernandez mentions some of these discrepancies
when explaining that legacies, students with a parent who attended the university, have a forty percent
acceptance rate at Dartmouth in comparison with the typical ten percent acceptance rate (183).
Additionally, Hernandez further explains that athletes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Starting in high school, students are not given equal opportunities to excel because of family
background. Furthermore, the admissions process itself has its flaws legacies, minorities, and athletes
are being chosen over exceptionally gifted valedictorians. Even after college, the problems do not end;
possible joblessness and student debt are unavoidable. On top of these major problems, educators and
parents continue to convince kids everywhere that college is the only option to become successful, and
choosing another path is heavily looked down upon. The newest generation s life is centered around
the climax of college while at the same time, more and more students are unable to attend universities
because of cost or rejection, but this is a paradox. The more high schoolers work hard, the more high
schoolers will get turned down to their dream schools, and the more the college admissions process
effectively become a lottery, leading to many highly talented, brilliant, creative people thinking they re
not (Robinson). The widespread college problem has no easy fix, nor does it have a single solution.
Rather than working to fix the unfixable, adults must stop putting such emphasis on the college
pathway, and instead stress that there are other options. The future of the job world is unknown; there
is no way to know if an expensive college education is the right choice. College, with all of its flaws,
is just one option in preparing for the future; it is not necessarily the best. Therefore, the single word,
college, should stop dividing the academic from the non academic or the successful from the
unsuccessful, and instead be considered a single path in an array of worthy

Susan Burton In The Foreword By Michele Alexander
Michele Alexander writes a Foreword in Becoming Ms. Burton, where she makes a bold comparison
after explaining an unidentified woman: Some people know this woman by the name Harriet Tubman.
I know her as Susan (xi). Alexander compares Susan Burton to Underground Railroad heroine, Harriet
Tubman. Over the course of the Foreword, it covers what Susan Burton does, how she is helping many
individuals, and essentially saving lives of those in need, much like Harriet Tubman did. This
comparison is crucial in setting up the idea of how special Susan Burton is, before revealing any major
information about her life. Alexander, by putting Ms. Burton next to such an important and
inspirational historical figure, gives the readers and idea of how incredible Susan is. Throughout the
book, the reader can go back to the comparison made by Alexander, and see how accurate it truly is.
Prompt #2 In Becoming Ms. Burton, it s sufficient to say Susan has suffered many high and low points
in her life. There are many factors out of Susan s control that are responsible for the downfalls she
experiences. After going over the internal and external factors, I ve narrowed it down to three: race,
gender, and home life. All three factors share the same problem; all are Susan s unearned
disadvantages in life. What I mean by unearned disadvantage is that Susan suffers from the
consequences of being African America, a woman, and having not an ideal upbringing. To get started,

Assisted Reproduction Technologies Pros And Cons
As the years, have progressed, the sensation for science has increased, as well as the aspiration for
technology. Because of this, many new ideas and innovation have been brought to us, such as the
development of ART, Assisted Reproductive Technology. The use of Assisted Reproductive
Technologies has been brought to allow pregnancies to be effectuated when the natural way is not
option. The interest for unnatural pregnancy began in the early 1800s when John Hunter, a Scottish
surgeon inseminated a woman with her husband s sperm. Due to this incidence, later in the late 1800s,
the idea for sperm donation sprouted. From there on, the curiosity for other ways to succeed in
unnatural pregnancies devolved rapidly. One of these ways was the In Vitro ... Show more content on

specific situation specifically was given. Additionally, for the other percentage of men, a rational
andrological treatment was given. Over all, the data was able to prove that different types of Assisted

Stress Negative Effects
While stress is an inevitable part of life, too much stress can have detrimental effects on an individual,
especially if these individuals are young children. Stress that is labeled as toxic can have detrimental
effects, as it is typically long lived and cannot be overcome, even with help from a caring adult.
However, not all stress should be considered as bad. Positive stress is the shortest type of stress and
usually can be overcome relatively quickly. Tolerable stress is relatively short lived and can be useful
when trying to develop positive coping skills as well as resilience. While resilience is often a result of
an individual s home environment, it can also be encouraged or further developed as a result of the
school environment and the teachers within it. Stress can be useful when developing resilience in a
child, as it allows the child to create a new understanding that sees failure as a way to grow as an
individual by learning from the mistakes.
A common misconception that labels all stress as negative can lead to beliefs that advocate for the
elimination of all stress. Stress is in fact more complex and is broken up into three major types toxic,
tolerable, and positive. Positive stress refers to the anxious feelings that can accompany such feelings
as moving to a new neighborhood or getting a shot. This kind of stress is viewed as a normal part
within the developmental process that every child goes through, and it is usually easily overcome as it
is not long lived

Disposition Effect Essay
Abstract
Many stock market anomalies could not be explained by Efficient Market Hypothersis (EMH). The
psychological biases, such as disposition effect, might help in explaining some of the behavioural
anomalies. Many researchers found that the presence of abundance of disposition prone investors
could affect the market prices. However the underlying causes of disposition effect is still unclear.
Introduction Disposition effect is an anomaly that relates to the investors s propensity for selling
shares that have increased in value and holding shares that have decreased in value (Financial Times
Lexicon, 2016). The S shaped prospect theory value function is expressed in terms of gains or losses
where the risk aversion in the domain of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The investors might have different trading strategies for small stocks and large stocks. The investor
psychology have led to heterogeneity in investors beliefs might exhibit behavioral biases, which could
result in irrational trading decision making.
The Underlying Causes of the Disposition Effect and the Implications of Disposition Effect in
Financial Decision Making Most of the past research has linked the disposition effect to prospect
theory. Barberis and Xiong (2009) mentioned that prospect theory is a potential ingredient in
providing a pure preference based explanation for this effect. Under prospect theory, people are
strongly avoiding losses in order to obtain gains due to loss aversion. Investors are reluctant to realise
losses because they seem to feel the pain of loss more strongly than gains (Kahneman Tversky, 1979).
Therefore, people hold the losers because it is believed that they are more comfortable with paper loss
rather than realised loss (Barberis Xiong, 2009). However, Kaustia (2010) argued prospect theory
value function is unrealistic to explain disposition effect as people do not sell the stock following
small gains in reality. He found that the people are more likely to hold the stock when the gains are
70% or more, and the propensity to sell soared when the capital gain is zero. Despite of that, prospect
theory would be a potential explanation for the disposition effect (Li Yang, 2013). Some researchers

The Family Situation Comedy ( Sitcom )
For many years now when we picture the quixotic American family our thoughts often go to the
suburbs. We visualize a family with a father, a mother and the average 2.5 children. Perhaps, this
stereotypical family has roots in the 1950 s. After World War II, there was a substantial move from
urban and rural areas to the freshly sprouted suburbs. The GI bill, signed into law in 1944, provided
significant funding for this movement with low interest mortgage loans. (Moon, n.d.) Into the twenty
first century, the suburbs and metropolitan areas continued their growth. (Frey, 2012) During the
period the suburbs were in their genesis, a relatively new medium, the television, was placing its roots
as a staple in the suburban living room. This device replaced the radio as a family s focal point for
news and entertainment. In the mid fifties, a new form of entertainment emerged, the family situation
comedy (sitcom). The show, Father Knows Best was credited as the first successful form of the new
style of comedy in 1954, and would have an extended run in broadcast and syndication for the next
thirteen years plus spawn many imitators such as Leave it to Beaver . (Taflinger, 1996) Because of
their high viewership and capacity to produce income for networks, producers, and broadcast stations,
the domestic sitcom continues to saturate the small screen today. (Academy of Television Arts
Sciences Foundation, 2013) Feasibly, the capacity of the suburban family sitcom to

The Manufacturing Component Of The International...
Section C
Manufacturing The manufacturing component of the International Feasibility Study can be argued as
the most important element in the decision making process for expansion. The four decision criteria
Legacy Homes saw as the best fit to our expansion efforts include available skilled workers that
demand a low wage in the market, a prime manufacturing location with a developed infrastructure
close to suppliers and consumers, the attractiveness the area presents in terms of growth potential and
incentives for new business, and the ease of transitioning current patents, capital, and culture into
Croatia. First, we will discuss our most important criterion when considering our business level
strategy of focused low cost, which is an abundance of skilled workers that demand a low wage in the
market. As Croatia focuses its efforts on economic development and a thriving business climate, they
have segmented some of their less dense regions into business zones. Many of these business zones
are near major business centers or have a fully developed infrastructure that have allowed business in
the region to grow and, as a result, towns have populated and labor pools have enlarged. The downside
is that Croatia is also introducing competitiveness clusters to foster competition amongst businesses in
similar geographic regions, which can push the price of labor up. An effect of the recent economic
downturn is a staggering 370,000 people are unemployed, so

The Importance Of Art
Art is all around us, it s everywhere you go: cartoons, buildings, photography, even the architecture of
streets and sidewalks. There are many forms of art, and it doesn t have to be just drawing or painting,
it can also be singing, acting, poetry, fashion, etc. All of these talents are an embodiment of
expression, it allows individuals to explore their creativity and enhances their learning abilities.
Without art everything would be black and white, there would be no substance. In today s age, not
many people notice or appreciate any type of artwork. As an artist and an actress, creativity has always
been my strong suit. When I m on stage or drawing it s like I m telling a story. People take art for

Individuals who experience trauma or loss had an impact on their artistic thinking, for example, Frida
Kahlo. John Lennon. Paul McCartney. Truman Capote. Robin Williams. Jerry Garcia, some of the
most revered creative minds in modern history have experienced major trauma. Psychologists call this
phenomenon post traumatic growth. When an individual experiences a major loss, the brain explores
its own creative escape as part of rebuilding themselves, especially as our perspectives, priorities, and
ways of thinking shift around. Post traumatic growth has been explored in hundreds of scientific
studies, including a 2004 study in the Journal of Traumatic Stress showing that 70% of survivors
experienced some kind of positive psychological change after a traumatic experience.
Art is extremely helpful with teen development. Since teenagers minds and emotions are so complex it
is hard for them to express it directly to others. Adolescents go through times where they don t feel
accepted. Art is the ultimate form of expression which is why some teens who have a creative mind
are able to revert to their talent, it could be through music, clothing, photography, painting, etc. Art
can be therapeutic to those who are capable of tapping into their creative side, it could be the solution
to their problem if they are able to understand the purpose of art. The creativity of adolescents

Periodontal Disease Case Studies
During your biannual dental checkup and cleaning, your dental hygienist or dentist will perform a
periodontal examination to determine if you have periodontal disease.
The Periodontal Examination
A small, specially designed instrument (periodontal probe) is used to measure the space (sulcus)
between each tooth and its gum. A healthy sulcus depth measures no more than 3 millimeters and will
not bleed. If an individual has periodontal disease and neglects to seek treatment, the pockets between
the teeth, and gums usually deepen.
The 3 Stages of Periodontal Disease
Tooth mobility and sulcus depth, in conjunction with the amount of inflammation and/or bleeding an
individual is experiencing, determines which stage of periodontal disease he or she has.
Stage One: Gingivitis ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As a result, the teeth have lost a substantial amount of support and, unless treatment is sought, the
affected teeth may be lost. Furthermore, widespread moderate to severe bone loss may be seen.
Treatment
The periodontal treatment that Dr. Alina de la Torre recommends depends on the stage of the disease.
If the disease is caught during the first stage (gingivitis) and no damage has occurred, Dr. de la Torre
will most likely recommend one or two regular cleanings. If the disease has progressed to stage two or
three, a deep cleaning will be recommended. If the pockets neglect to heal, periodontal surgery to
reduce the pocket depths may be necessary.

The Mayan Civilization In Guatemala
The Maya civilization was one of the most dominant indigenous societies of Mesoamerica. The
growth of the great Mayan civilization is as much a mystery as its disappearance. The Maya Empire,
centered in the tropical lowlands of what is now Guatemala, reached the peak of its power and
influence around the sixth century A.D (http://www.history.com/topics/maya#). As a youth growing up
in Belize Central America, I was very much intrigued by the Mayan civilization as we would regularly
take educational field trips to the massive stone temples of Xunantunich and Altun Ha. Both Mayan
ruins were no more than 50 miles away from my childhood home. Most of what we know about the
Maya comes from what remains of their architecture and art, including stone carvings and inscriptions
on their buildings and monuments. The Maya were deeply religious, and worshiped various gods
related to nature, including the gods of the sun, the moon, rain and corn. BELIEFS AND PRACTICES
The Mayan religion was characterized by the worship of nature gods. Main practices in the Maya
included astronomy, divination, human sacrifice, elaborate burial for royalty and worshipping in stone
pyramid temples (http://www.religionfacts.com/big_religion_chart.htm). Much of what is believed
relating to the beliefs and practices of the Maya result from what archaeologists have uncovered and
studied along with historians. In a book written by a Franciscan Priest named Diego de Landa, he

Emotions In Albert Caltus s The Plague By Albert Camus
When confronted with difficult circumstances, the emotions of people, their personal beliefs, and past
experiences can affect their reactions or lack thereof. In every situation humans are put in, they find a
way of surviving with it by first emotionally reacting and then possibly physically taking action.
Throughout The Plague by Albert Camus, he makes it clear that people cope with challenging
situations in different ways, and the ways can help decide how they take action; the methods can affect
people, like Rambert trying to flee to a life he once had, Paneloux blaming everyone around him and
Rieux trying, but failing to find a solution.
Looking back at happier times and reminiscing on nostalgia can often help a person come to terms
with the situations they are currently facing. Like many people in times of struggle, Rambert focuses
on the life he had before going to Oran and the love for a women he left behind in order to escape his

Bus Boycott Impact
The impact of the Montgomery Bus Boycott.
Throughout American History, there have been many movements in America to bring social justice
and a change in human rights. These movements have left an impact on the way we live and think
today. The Montgomery bus boycott is a prime example of Americans standing up for their rights in
equality and justice.
The Montgomery bus boycott was a movement in Montgomery, Alabama, against the laws of
segregation on the buses with which black people were forced to sit or stand in the back of the bus
while white people sat in their seats in the front. There was also a middle section which was available
to both, but if a white person did not have a seat, a black people in that middle section was forced to ...

They had to decide whether to continue the boycott. A vote was taken and displayed that the majority
wanted it to continue. The boycott greatly affected the stores in Montgomery because fewer blacks
were coming to the city center. The MIA fought for their case to end desegregation in the court. This
movement left a huge impact on American society. The federal court deemed segregation on buses
unconstitutional. The black community began using buses again on December 21st, 1956 after 381
days, however, this did lead to some violence. Buses were shot at and churches were bombed, seven
white men were arrested, but no one was found guilty. The violence did end and the integration of the
buses was successful. This movement gave them a chance to stop segregation in other places. A
nonviolent protest can create positive change, and the black community of Montgomery proved just

Absolutism s Influence On Religion
Among the European countries, France has been one of the most influenced by the Catholic Church.
During the Ancien Regime, France was considered Catholicism s Eldest daughter because France was
the first country to take in Catholicism as the nation s religion. Due to the relationship between the
country and religion, the pope and king formed a closely knit connection between each other. As it is
written in the book The French Revolution and the Church, the idea of the state and church being
independent from each other was not considered as a practical possibility to anyone at the time.
Another reason why they were closely related was because the kings of the form of government
known as absolutism were known to derive their power from God. ... Show more content on

The absolutist monarchy, along with the Catholic Church, was in danger. The commoners had enough
of all the privileges the clergy and the nobles had and started to revolt. During the Ancien Regime,
France was divided into three different estates, the First, Second, and Third Estate. The First Estate
was composed of all the clergy, while the Second was the nobility, and Third, those who were not
included in the First or Second. The clergy was the first estate among the three because they were the
ones who were closest to God, not including the king because he is not a part of the Estates.Benefits
the Catholics and the nobilities were able to have from the government were apparent in the way the
Estates were organized. The discrimination against the Third Estate could be seen in ways that,
although the third estate constituted over 90 percent of the population, they had the equal amount of
votes with the clergy and nobility. That means, because both the clergy and nobility are content with
what they have, the third estate would always be outvoted by the two. First of all, the First and Second
Estates did not have to pay tax. The burden was completely on the Third estate, and in addition to that,
the First estate received tithes from the commoners. The First Estate owned the most land collectively.
The First Estate, while being only .5 percent of the population of France, owned around ten percent

masterpiece. It sends you on a wild emotional rollercoaster for the entire thirty two minute length of

is a scherzo and the last movement is also in sonata form. The ride begins with a first movement of
chaos and suspense. The movement shifts back and forth between powerful dark dominant chords and
motives and triumphant light lyrical melodies. The image that comes to mind is that of a chase in third

Using Logos, Ethos And Pathos In Arguments
During the course of GET1021, I have learnt many critical thinking and writing skills such as
identifying assumptions, distinguishing between deductive and inductive reasoning, evaluating the
reliability of evidence or authorities, identifying flaws in reasoning and using logos, pathos and ethos
in arguments. These skills helped me with my assignments.
I could identify the author s main claim and key arguments quickly. Furthermore, by breaking down
the key arguments into components, I could understand them better. These made it easier for me to
describe and express the author s ideas in my own words for the summary writing. Additionally, I
could distinguish the form and substantiate the validity and soundness or cogency and strength of the
author s argument. I could identify underlying assumptions, fallacies and attempts to appeal to ethos,
pathos, and/or logos in the author s argument as well. I also paid greater attention to the language and

Firstly, the lab was done within a period of 75 minutes. Time efficiency was a factor that could have
been more accurate when creating competent cells. Competent cells are able to take in extra foreign
DNA. The procedure involved timing for series of events. Events such as: both tubes on the ice for 10
minutes, both tubes in the bath for 50 seconds, both tubes on ice for 2 minutes and both tubes at room
temperature for 10 minutes. All of these events could have been done with greater precision. Some of
the tubes may have been exposed to their given environment over or under the necessary time frame.
A source of error is that the ice blocks were not consistent. The procedure asked for crushed ice and
ice cubes were used in the experiment. This could have had an effect on the temperature needed for
the creation of competent cells. On the other hand, an improvement that could be made is pipetting.
0.25mL of CaCl2 solution was put into both tubes using an open pipette. But, it was possible for a
mistake to occur with the chance of air bubbles or imprecision to the required amount. This would
affect the amount of the CaCl2 solution that was needed by under or over pipetting into each of the

greater the distance spread around the surface of the plate, the possibility of more growth and less

Midwest Research Paper
ay
There are many different great places to live in the United States. Each region of the US is very
different from the others. My favorite region is the Midwest. I like the Midwest for many reasons, but
mainly because it contains my hometown. States in the Midwest vary from South Dakota, to Kansas,
to Wisconsin, and Ohio. Illinois, my home state, is also in the Midwest. South Dakota has a well
known tourist attraction. This is known as Mount Rushmore. Kansas is known as a pretty barren state.
Along with Illinois, they have lots of agriculture. The main crops in the Midwest include corn,
soybeans, and wheat. Wisconsin is called the Badger state, but is known for the large amount of dairy
produced there. Supposedly, there are more cows in Wisconsin than there are people. There are also
several big cities in the Midwest. The biggest city is Chicago, Illinois, which is situated right along
Lake Michigan. Indianapolis, Columbus, and Detroit are the next largest cities in the Midwest.
Detroit, Michigan is home to automobiles where over one million cars are produced every year.

leadership positions. Women were not permitted to try and let female relatives to get a look at them.
She got away from the gaze of any man whom she was not identified with. These demonstrate that the
overseeing body was made of chauvinists who saw women as lesser creatures than men. Men enabled
women to acquire and pass on property (Kido, p 68). In the Tale of Genji, author demonstrated that
women would be very educated and achieve many things. They were educated different courses other

The perspective of ethical quality in our cutting edge society indicates like sentiments with those of
the tale.
Women openings were restricted by polygamy. There s just a single particular law of marriage that
administered them, and it s that men couldn t have two formal wives. This didn t keep men from going
to a ton of different women, which gives a great part of the storyline behind the Genji being a Don
Juan (The Tale of Genji; p 30). Likewise, this sort of custom of men having a polygamous nature isn t
viewed as discourteous amid this time. Waka couplets in The Tale of Genji; have special commitment
towards the hugeness of the story. In The Tale of Genji, waka poetry overruns each part of life from
romance to court custom to artistic enjoyment; and as a result of these capacities, the waka is quickly
fused into the Heian exposition narrative (Damrosch and Pike, p 223). Nearer reading of the waka
couplets in The Tale of Genji; makes it apparent that they contribute not just to the excellence of style
yet additionally to the making of a lyrical method of portrayal (The Tale of Genji; p 41). The multi
meaning and double working of many words in the waka make a thickness of allusions.

Gilded Age Essay
Gilded is defined as having a golden appearance concealing something that has little to no worth
underneath. During the Gilded Age, the wealthy companies were able to accumulate a surplus amount
of wealth and large profits. Since companies are trying to make as much profit as possible. Often
times, companies will try to cut corners and not spend money towards its employees that way the
industry can reep most the benefits from the profit. Although, this can usually make matters worse and
be counterproductive to solving the issues at hand regarding the employees. Many people were
dramatically affected by the changes made to ensure companies obtain the most profit. When an
individual person informed their employer of an issue it was often overlooked thus leading to the
creation of unions. These unions gave individuals the power of numbers. Laborers began standing
together to fight for their rights. The unions created specific strategies pertaining to each member to
help protect the laborers rights. The American Federation of Labor and the Industrial Workers of the
World created strategies to help their members obtain better treatment from the companies.
In 1886, the American Federation of Labor was created by combining 25 craft unions filled with only
skilled workers. The significance of only allowing skilled workers within the group was to ensure that
workers could keep their identity. The skilled workers identity was that they brought a skill to the table

The Digital Signature Commercial Use Should Be Governed by Law Since the number of taxi s
companies that use smart phone s application to provide their services has increased, the popularity of
those companies has increased too. Unfortunately, one of the famous taxi s company in Saudi Arabia
called Karim had lost their customer s trust because the customers credit cards information has been
stolen by a hacker, who hacked the company s digital signature to accesses their server and steal
information. In fact, the internet has influenced our life and the E commerce was not an exception.
Many customers prefer online shopping, leasing, and selling, which are considered trade contracts. As
the contract should contain a signature that represents the agreement between parties, a written
signature is not viable in E commerce. As a result, electronic signatures have existed to provide
convenient and faster service that E commerce needs. In fact, electronic signatures have not taken as a
proof of evidence except a digital signature because the requirement to accept the signature to proof
documents could be existed only in a digital signature. In this paper, I argue that government should
regulate a digital signature to satisfied E commerce expectation and growing. First, I will define the
digital signature and distinguish it from similar signatures. second, I will explain the usage of the
digital signature in E commerce and how it expanded. Third, I will explain the law importance

The water level (observed) and water level (simulated) water levels and the variation over time were
graphed below in figure 5.
Figure 5 Predicted vs. experimental h comparison
The data shown in figure 5 demonstrates the adequacy of the Level Pool Routing approximation. The
two water levels run very closely with very little error. The difference between the two can be
attributed to human error when reading the observed times during the experiment.
Conclusion and Recommendations:
A level pool routing experiment was carried out to determine the adequacy of results obtained through
simulated flood routing. The experiment yielded experimental results from which calculations of
inflow; storage and discharge over a weir were obtained. The Energy Grade line from the tank to the
pipe outlet was observed as well as the relationship between the tank discharge to the square root of
height. Noted from this was that height was the driving force of flow from the tank.
Following, a Puls flood routing method was used to simulate the event again with theoretical values.
The relationship between discharge and discharge with storage over time was obtained and used to
calculate theoretical values of discharge and water Level. These were compared with experimental
results and a strong correlation was observed.
Reservoir routing yielded reliable results which

blocking their precious Sunnyvale sunlight. The irony lies within the fact that the dispute was

Vargas is content to cut down only two of the Treanor s eight redwoods. That does not seem overly
unreasonable, being only a fourth of the tress are being cut down. As an environmentalist, he should
not be flaunting his right to treat these redwoods as public nuisances. He betrays his green ideals with
his wishes to chop down these trees, and brings light to an outdated law that others might consider
using. With that being said, this will spark a movement of people attempting to use the Solar Shade
Control Act. First, it may be only one or two said trees. However, this disagreement exposes an act
that can easily be taken advantage of. Others can take on this idea and get their neighbor to cut down
even more trees, and by this time, an abundance of trees are cut down and neighbors across the nation
will become the leading cause of tree death. Mr. Vargas should have seen the risks in the investment
he made. You re never in complete control over how much sunlight will shine on your property.
According to the Solar Shade Act, The law seeks to prevent property owners from allowing trees to
shade an existing solar energy system, provided the shading trees were planted after the solar system
was installed. (Go Solar California). Mr. Vargas uses this Solar Shade Act, yet it is clear that the
requirements for this act are after the solar system was installed. Using this act should be considered

Companies Should Receive Parental Leave
Some companies are approving parental leave, even for dads. Besides the mother, the father needs to
take time off and take care of his wife and newborn. The father should not be required to go to work if
he has to stay up all night with his child. Moreover, he should be eligible to receive parental leave
benefits.
Currently, there are some companies that have started giving parental leave for dads. Before this
practice, the parent who commonly received paid leave was the pregnant mother and she had to work
40 hours a week for more than a year. It is important for everyone to get assistance when they need it,
especially a mother who has given birth. Sometimes a father will be fired from his job because his
company does not offer any parental leave. A mother who is working less than 30 hours is now able to
get parental leave with full benefits. In addition to mothers and fathers, foster parents and parents who
adopt are also receiving the benefits of parental leave. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

two years at the company. The mothers can get six weeks of paid leave and 12 weeks of unpaid leave,

leave. Parents other than the birth mother, such as the father, still cannot receive full benefits. The only
benefit the father can receive is that he can leave his job to take care of his new baby without the risk
of being fired. However, fathers job titles are not always secure. For that reason, some men are not

which may contribute to the increase or decrease of welfare assistance to the poor in 4 ways: (1) by

framework for consideration of the possible effects of a proposed policy.
Past History of Welfare Assistance: One of the first welfare programs to provide income support to the
poor was a federally backed plan called the Aid to Dependent Children (ADC) program. This
legislation was introduced with the establishment of the Social Security program during the Great
Depression. (Rowley, and Peacock 43) The ADC program which had started nearly sixty years ago is
now better known as the Aid to Families with Dependent Children (AFDC) program, which provided
a federal entitlement to economic support for single parents with children younger than 18 who fell
below a threshold of assets and income (Rowley, and Peacock 44). Federal guidelines allowed for
each state to set its own predetermined needs standards for families of different sizes and living
locations. Both the federal government and the states supplied funding for the AFDC program
(Rowley, and Peacock 50). In 1996 Congress adopted the Temporary Aid to Needy Families (TANF)
program by enacting the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act that
ultimately changed the structure of federal financial assistance to the states thereby abolishing the
AFDC program. Another social welfare program was the Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
program. Congress

California Government Structure Essay
Structure of California s Government
Headed by the governor of the state, the state govt. of CA replicates the Federal govt. It has three
branches that perform their assigned tasks and keep within the limits set by the constitution. These
branches are:
Legislature
Executive
Judiciary
While this division has been created to give structure to the government and ensure its smooth and
effective functioning, there is, more importantly, the need to keep the power of the branches in check
and to make them accountable to each other. There is a system of checks and balances that comes into
play with this segregation of duties and separation of power. This system s inception has been
attributed to Montesquieu. (Wikipedia.org)

The Governor Rating in the year 2000 placed CA s governor at an overall rating of 3.4 and a rank of
29 among the nation.
What is interesting to note is the rating given to Power of the Legislature to Change Governor s
Budget which was 1 on a 1 5 scale in a study conducted by Dr.Thad Beyle. This shows the CA
governor as wielding a certain amount of influence in the legislature s passing of his proposed budget,
Of course, the constitution mandates that the budget be balanced and, if not, then the previous year s
budget remain effective. This already puts limitations and expectations in the budget s formulation.

Summary Of An Act Of Vengeance Isabels short story, An Act of Vengeance is an example of the power she depicts towards women along with her foundation, The Isabel Allende Foundation which she states, Empowers women and girls worldwide . In her text, in which a young teen s father is killed by the same man who raped her and took away dignity and reason for living building up hate towards him. The irony is as Allende states, She searched her heart for the hatred she had cultivated throughout those thirty years, but she was incapable of finding...Then she understood with horror that by thinking about him every moment, and savoring his punishment in advance, her feelings had become reversed and she had fallen in love with him (Allende#1). The hatred and punishment she wanted to give him for what he did turned into an unstoppable love. Isabel Allende is a strong feminist and it can be seen throughout her writing, reason for this is her personal experiences, causing it to change the way she refers when writing about the opposite sex. Our last author would be Charlotte Perkins Gilman, author of The Yellow Wallpaper showing how personal experiences can be a great influence when it comes to writing down their feelings in a piece of paper. Stating the difficulty she had for various years: For many years I suffered from a severe and continuous nervous breakdown tending... • 6. The Launch of a Women’s Radio Station in the City of... This case study looks at the launch of a women s radio station in the city of Herat, Afghanistan, in the year 2003. It follows four Afghan women journalists struggles in balancing the demands of a highly conservative culture on the one hand, and the objectives of their Canadian journalism trainers on the other. Kamal explains that Media development takes on many different forms in different areas of the world. Rather than being a force for sustaining difference, the media is deliberately employed by media development organisations as a vehicle for challenging unequal gender relations. Women s rights and social justice are promoted in media content, and women s participation is often a precondition for funding for media projects. She ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While the radio station had officially been granted a licence from the Ministry of Information and Culture in Kabul, Ismail Khan s power base in the west was very strong, and the central government had very little power to enforce its policies in Herat. As a result, during the process of setting up the radio station, there was much concern when Ismail Khan chose not to offer any written guarantee that the operation would receive his sanction. He was, however, an advocate of women s education. By describing the women s radio station as a tool for women s instruction and culture, and inviting the Canadian ambassador to Afghanistan to the radio station s launch, Radio Sahar was able to receive Ismail Khan s last minute support. Radio Sahar was launched in October 2003. The women usually had very little time to prepare the shows; they would use the time available to them during the playing of songs or pre packaged programmes to plan for the next day (and on all too frequent bad days, for the next half hour) of radio broadcasts. The designated host would pre script introductions to shows when she could, and practise excerpts of poetry to declaim on the air, while the designated helpers would call and invite guests to lecture, or participate in occasional roundtables. • 7. Analysis Of Ruination And Drosscape Ruination and Drosscape Ruination is a recurring theme through the creative field; primarily in art, art theory and poetry. There is a grand human reaction to ruin that transcends this word into a conceptual state. It is a concept that artists have had an abiding interest in, which has in turn led the conception of the modern ruin. My uncoverage of this concept has been through a multitude of resources whilst researching for my own artistic practise. Art theorists and artists have thematically looked to ruin as an aid to understand human nature and the ways in which we cope with the rapidly developing world around us through a sentimentality for what is past and lost. There is a need to discern this reaction to ruin and to simultaneously validate it. Ruins hold a curious charm that is produced by the coinciding state of decay and regeneration, which oscillate randomly and chaotically. Ruins draw people in and inspire creation. Similarly, art necessarily develops from the past s foundation, the neglected; without a break, and wherever it may end up, reference to the past remains. Ruin provokes nostalgia for the aesthetic forms and iconography of the former, resulting in an ongoing phenomenon that recycles and regenerates in art and art theory. In Allan Smith s Essay Entropic steps: Rocks, ruins, and increase in John Ruskin, Robert Smithson, and Per Kirkeby, he triangulates the writings of Ruskin, Smithson and Kirkeby, in order to show a breadth of reaction to ruin (primarily ... College Admissions Flaws On top of exceptional students getting declined, prestigious schools are accepting less qualified students such as legacies, athletes, and minorities, contributing to the flawed system. Rather than admitting students based on their potential to succeed and personal attributes alone, universities often admit slightly inferior candidates in order to increase their diversity population and maintain a dedicated alumni. In A is For Admission, Michele Hernandez mentions some of these discrepancies when explaining that legacies, students with a parent who attended the university, have a forty percent acceptance rate at Dartmouth in comparison with the typical ten percent acceptance rate (183). Starting in high school, students are not given equal opportunities to excel because of family background. Furthermore, the admissions process itself has its flaws legacies, minorities, and athletes are being chosen over exceptionally gifted valedictorians. Even after college, the problems do not end; possible joblessness and student debt are unavoidable. On top of these major problems, educators and parents continue to convince kids everywhere that college is the only option to become successful, and choosing another path is heavily looked down upon. The newest generation s life is centered around the climax of college while at the same time, more and more students are unable to attend universities because of cost or rejection, but this is a paradox. The more high schoolers work hard, the more high schoolers will get turned down to their dream schools, and the more the college admissions process effectively become a lottery, leading to many highly talented, brilliant, creative people thinking they re not (Robinson). The widespread college problem has no easy fix, nor does it have a single solution. Rather than working to fix the unfixable, adults must stop putting such emphasis on the college pathway, and instead stress that there are other options. The future of the job world is unknown; there is no way to know if an expensive college education is the right choice. College, with all of its flaws, is just one option in preparing for the future; it is not necessarily the best. Susan Burton In The Foreword By Michele Alexander Michele Alexander writes a Foreword in Becoming Ms. Burton, where she makes a bold comparison after explaining an unidentified woman: Some people know this woman by the name Harriet Tubman. I know her as Susan (xi). Alexander compares Susan Burton to Underground Railroad heroine, Harriet Tubman. Over the course of the Foreword, it covers what Susan Burton does, how she is helping many individuals, and essentially saving lives of those in need, much like Harriet Tubman did. This comparison is crucial in setting up the idea of how special Susan Burton is, before revealing any major information about her life. Alexander, by putting Ms. Burton next to such an important and inspirational historical figure, gives the readers and idea of how incredible Susan is. Throughout the book, the reader can go back to the comparison made by Alexander, and see how accurate it truly is. Prompt #2 In Becoming Ms. Burton, it s sufficient to say Susan has suffered many high and low points in her life. There are many factors out of Susan s control that are responsible for the downfalls she experiences. After going over the internal and external factors, I ve narrowed it down to three: race, gender, and home life. All three factors share the same problem; all are Susan s unearned disadvantages in life. What I mean by unearned disadvantage is that Susan suffers from the consequences of being African America, a woman, and having not an ideal upbringing. To get started, as witnessed the ... Stress that is labeled as toxic can have detrimental effects, as it is typically long lived and cannot be overcome, even with help from a caring adult. However, not all stress should be considered as bad. Positive stress is the shortest type of stress and usually can be overcome relatively quickly. Tolerable stress is relatively short lived and can be useful when trying to develop positive coping skills as well as resilience. While resilience is often a result of an individual s home environment, it can also be encouraged or further developed as a result of the school environment and the teachers within it. Stress can be useful when developing resilience in a child, as it allows the child to create a new understanding that sees failure as a way to grow as an individual by learning from the mistakes. A common misconception that labels all stress as negative can lead to beliefs that advocate for the elimination of all stress. Stress is in fact more complex and is broken up into three major types toxic, tolerable, and positive. Positive stress refers to the anxious feelings that can accompany such feelings as moving to a new neighborhood or getting a shot. The psychological biases, such as disposition effect, might help in explaining some of the behavioural anomalies. Many researchers found that the presence of abundance of disposition prone investors could affect the market prices. However the underlying causes of disposition effect is still unclear. Introduction Disposition effect is an anomaly that relates to the investors s propensity for selling shares that have increased in value and holding shares that have decreased in value (Financial Times Lexicon, 2016). The investors might have different trading strategies for small stocks and large stocks. The investor psychology have led to heterogeneity in investors beliefs might exhibit behavioral biases, which could result in irrational trading decision making. The Underlying Causes of the Disposition Effect and the Implications of Disposition Effect in Financial Decision Making Most of the past research has linked the disposition effect to prospect theory. Barberis and Xiong (2009) mentioned that prospect theory is a potential ingredient in providing a pure preference based explanation for this effect. Under prospect theory, people are strongly avoiding losses in order to obtain gains due to loss aversion. Investors are reluctant to realise losses because they seem to feel the pain of loss more strongly than gains (Kahneman Tversky, 1979). Therefore, people hold the losers because it is believed that they are more comfortable with paper loss rather than realised loss (Barberis Xiong, 2009). However, Kaustia (2010) argued prospect theory value function is unrealistic to explain disposition effect as people do not sell the stock following small gains in reality. He found that the people are more likely to hold the stock when the gains are 70% or more, and the propensity to sell soared when the capital gain is zero. Despite of that, prospect theory would be a potential explanation for the disposition effect (Li Yang, 2013). Some researchers have ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 17. The Family Situation Comedy ( Sitcom ) For many years now when we picture the quixotic American family our thoughts often go to the suburbs. We visualize a family with a father, a mother and the average 2.5 children. Perhaps, this stereotypical family has roots in the 1950 s. After World War II, there was a substantial move from urban and rural areas to the freshly sprouted suburbs. The GI bill, signed into law in 1944, provided significant funding for this movement with low interest mortgage loans. (Moon, n.d.) Into the twenty first century, the suburbs and metropolitan areas continued their growth. (Frey, 2012) During the period the suburbs were in their genesis, a relatively new medium, the television, was placing its roots as a staple in the suburban living room. This device replaced the radio as a family s focal point for news and entertainment. In the mid fifties, a new form of entertainment emerged, the family situation comedy (sitcom). The show, Father Knows Best was credited as the first successful form of the new style of comedy in 1954, and would have an extended run in broadcast and syndication for the next thirteen years plus spawn many imitators such as Leave it to Beaver . • 18. The Manufacturing Component Of The International... Section C Manufacturing The manufacturing component of the International Feasibility Study can be argued as the most important element in the decision making process for expansion. The four decision criteria Legacy Homes saw as the best fit to our expansion efforts include available skilled workers that demand a low wage in the market, a prime manufacturing location with a developed infrastructure close to suppliers and consumers, the attractiveness the area presents in terms of growth potential and incentives for new business, and the ease of transitioning current patents, capital, and culture into Croatia. First, we will discuss our most important criterion when considering our business level strategy of focused low cost, which is an abundance of skilled workers that demand a low wage in the market. As Croatia focuses its efforts on economic development and a thriving business climate, they have segmented some of their less dense regions into business zones. Many of these business zones are near major business centers or have a fully developed infrastructure that have allowed business in the region to grow and, as a result, towns have populated and labor pools have enlarged. The downside is that Croatia is also introducing competitiveness clusters to foster competition amongst businesses in similar geographic regions, which can push the price of labor up. During the Gilded Age, the wealthy companies were able to accumulate a surplus amount of wealth and large profits. Since companies are trying to make as much profit as possible. Often times, companies will try to cut corners and not spend money towards its employees that way the industry can reep most the benefits from the profit. The Digital Signature Commercial Use Should Be Governed by Law Since the number of taxi s companies that use smart phone s application to provide their services has increased, the popularity of those companies has increased too. Unfortunately, one of the famous taxi s company in Saudi Arabia called Karim had lost their customer s trust because the customers credit cards information has been stolen by a hacker, who hacked the company s digital signature to accesses their server and steal information. In fact, the internet has influenced our life and the E commerce was not an exception. Many customers prefer online shopping, leasing, and selling, which are considered trade contracts. As the contract should contain a signature that represents the agreement between parties, a written signature is not viable in E commerce. As a result, electronic signatures have existed to provide convenient and faster service that E commerce needs. In fact, electronic signatures have not taken as a proof of evidence except a digital signature because the requirement to accept the signature to proof documents could be existed only in a digital signature. In this paper, I argue that government should regulate a digital signature to satisfied E commerce expectation and growing. First, I will define the digital signature and distinguish it from similar signatures. second, I will explain the usage of the digital signature in E commerce and how it expanded. Figure 5 Predicted vs. experimental h comparison The data shown in figure 5 demonstrates the adequacy of the Level Pool Routing approximation. The two water levels run very closely with very little error. The difference between the two can be attributed to human error when reading the observed times during the experiment. Conclusion and Recommendations: A level pool routing experiment was carried out to determine the adequacy of results obtained through simulated flood routing. The experiment yielded experimental results from which calculations of inflow; storage and discharge over a weir were obtained. The Energy Grade line from the tank to the pipe outlet was observed as well as the relationship between the tank discharge to the square root of height. Noted from this was that height was the driving force of flow from the tank. Following, a Puls flood routing method was used to simulate the event again with theoretical values. The relationship between discharge and discharge with storage over time was obtained and used to calculate theoretical values of discharge and water Level. These were compared with experimental results and a strong correlation was observed. Reservoir routing yielded reliable results which

That does not seem overly unreasonable, being only a fourth of the tress are being cut down. As an environmentalist, he should not be flaunting his right to treat these redwoods as public nuisances. He betrays his green ideals with his wishes to chop down these trees, and brings light to an outdated law that others might consider using. With that being said, this will spark a movement of people attempting to use the Solar Shade Control Act. First, it may be only one or two said trees. However, this disagreement exposes an act that can easily be taken advantage of. Others can take on this idea and get their neighbor to cut down even more trees, and by this time, an abundance of trees are cut down and neighbors across the nation will become the leading cause of tree death. Mr. Vargas should have seen the risks in the investment he made. You re never in complete control over how much sunlight will shine on your property. According to the Solar Shade Act, The law seeks to prevent property owners from allowing trees to shade an existing solar energy system, provided the shading trees were planted after the solar system was installed. • 37. Companies Should Receive Parental Leave Some companies are approving parental leave, even for dads. Besides the mother, the father needs to take time off and take care of his wife and newborn. The father should not be required to go to work if he has to stay up all night with his child. Moreover, he should be eligible to receive parental leave benefits. Currently, there are some companies that have started giving parental leave for dads. Before this practice, the parent who commonly received paid leave was the pregnant mother and she had to work 40 hours a week for more than a year. It is important for everyone to get assistance when they need it, especially a mother who has given birth. Sometimes a father will be fired from his job because his company does not offer any parental leave. A mother who is working less than 30 hours is now able to get parental leave with full benefits. Past History of Welfare Assistance: One of the first welfare programs to provide income support to the poor was a federally backed plan called the Aid to Dependent Children (ADC) program. This legislation was introduced with the establishment of the Social Security program during the Great Depression. (Rowley, and Peacock 43) The ADC program which had started nearly sixty years ago is now better known as the Aid to Families with Dependent Children (AFDC) program, which provided a federal entitlement to economic support for single parents with children younger than 18 who fell below a threshold of assets and income (Rowley, and Peacock 44). Federal guidelines allowed for each state to set its own predetermined needs standards for families of different sizes and living locations. Both the federal government and the states supplied funding for the AFDC program (Rowley, and Peacock 50). In 1996 Congress adopted the Temporary Aid to Needy Families (TANF) program by enacting the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act that ultimately changed the structure of federal financial assistance to the states thereby abolishing the AFDC program.
