Edgar Allan Poe Inference
An inference we can make about Edgar Allan Poe is that he writes to show the downsides of love. In
the article A Terrible Evil : Edgar Allan Poe Writes About His Wife s Illness and Death by Rebecca
Onion it states, Again in about a year afterward. Then again again again even once again at varying
intervals. Each time I felt all the agonies of her death and at each accession of the disorder I loved her
more dearly clung to her life with more desperate pertinacity. Poe s wife was constantly ill and each
time she became better Poe had hope, but them she would fall ill again and Poe would be in agony.
This relates to the inference that Edgar Allan Poe writes to show the downsides of love because he is
in agony due to his wife s constant ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This I can do endure as becomes a man it was the horrible never ending oscillation between hope
despair which I could not longer have endured without the total loss of reason. He found the
permanent solution to his agony in the death of his wife. This relates to the inference that Edgar Allan
Poe writes to show the downsides of love because the only way for his agony to be cured was for the
love of live, his wife, to die. The love that he had for his wife caused him to be in pain when ever she
was ill which is a downside of live that he writes about. In the poem The Raven by Edgar Allan Poe it
is written, From my books surcease of sorrow sorrow for the lost Lenore For the rare and radiant
maiden whom the angels name Lenore Nameless here for evermore. The narrator is morning the loss
of his love Lenore. This supports the inference that Poe writes to tells us of the downsides of love
because the narrator is talking about how the death of his love is causing him to mourn for her which
is a downside of love. Poe also writes, And the only word there spoken was the whispered word,

Moses In The Odyssey
Exodus 7: 8 13
Moses was chosen by God to lead the Israel in their battle against the Amalekites, who came and
attacked them. So Moses instructed Joshua to choose some men to fight the Amalekites. And Moses
will stand at the top of the hill with the staff of God in his hands.
Moses took the staff of God with him. Any time Moses faced a situation, or God wanted to do a
miracle, the staff was there. The staff was a symbol of God s Power. Carrying the Staff of God was a
reminder that God was with him.
As long as his arms were up, the Israelites were winning the battle. As he lowered his arms, the
Amalekites were winning. But when Moses hands grew tired, they took a stone and put it under him
and he sat on it. Aaron and Hur held his hands up so that his hands remained steady till sunset. ...

How Successful Was The Boxer Rebellion
The Boxer Rebellion of 1898 1901 is one of the best known but least understood events in Chinese
History. The Boxers were a group of Chinese peasants who despised every aspect of foreigners and
sought vengeance for the series of humiliations that China had suffered. Their primary objective was
to drive out all foreign influence out of China, which begs the question to what extent were the Boxers
successful in their fight against Imperialism? Throughout the nineteenth century, China was threatened
by the corruption of progress and foreign influence losing in both the Opium Wars and the Sino
Japanese War because of their inferiority to the European military technology which reflected the level
of corruption and military backwardness present ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Historian Victor Purcell s most widely held view of the Boxers is that they began as a conservative
anti Qing movement; in other words, they opposed the existing government that started to conform to
Western powers. The efforts of the Boxer Rebellion was redundant in the sense that they led a
reformation. Although the Chinese government was mainly conservative it was still being controlled
by the foreign spheres of influence due to the unequal treaties signed to conclude the Opium and Sino
Japanese Wars. The Boxers were becoming well known practice, as their continuous rampages and
notable incidences linked to them gained the attention of conservative officials at the court, whom of
which convinced the Empress Dowager Cixi to view the Boxers as a useful asset for resisting foreign
pressure. Cixi had instructed provincial officials to not suppress the Boxers activities. Gaining the full
support of the Qing government meant they could fully focus on foreigners from that point on. The
Boxer s feat of gaining the support of the Qing government, which was being controlled by the West
supports the notion that China managed to drive out a considerable amount of influence. In spite of the
protest by the Western Powers and the ultimatum presented to Cixi, which was to legitimize the
foreign suppression of the Boxers or to legalize the Boxer uprising and Collaborate with them.
Empress Cixi chose the latter option because she believed that the Western powers were trying to

Gentlemen Prefer Blondes Comparative Essay
The musical film Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, which is best known for the infamous show tune
Diamonds are a Girl s Best Friend, was filmed in 1953 and stars Marilyn Monroe as Lorelei Lee and
Jane Russell as Dorothy Shaw . Lorelei and Dorothy are a couple of attractive ladies and best friends,
who perform in a cabaret show. Lorelei is a diamond hungry, gold digger who uses her looks and
sexuality to get what she wants from a man and she has set her sights on the wealthy but naïve Gus
Esmond played by Tommy Noonan. Her best gal pal Dorothy is a sassy, clever beauty who thinks

Both films are musicals about cabaret dancers except Gentlemen Prefer Blondes stars two leading
ladies whereas Cabaret only has one leading lady. Another similarity between the two films is the gold
digger aspect, Lorelei being the gold digger in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes are only interested in
materialistic things which is very similar to Sally s interest in a wealthy man except Sally is also
interested in what a wealthy man can do for her acting career. A few of the differences in the two films
were that they are filmed during different era s and so being that Gentlemen Prefer Blondes was
filmed in the early fifties, it is much more conservative and even though Cabaret is set in the thirties
the film was actually filmed in the early seventies when it was popular to really push the envelope and
so this films plot is much more risqué. Another difference with these two films is that in Cabaret the
plot is more dramatic really focusing on the rise of Nazism and the topic of sexual preference by
having the three main characters becoming involved in a love triangle. Gentlemen Prefer Blondes was
more of a carefree comedy with not a lot of the plot. Overall I would have to say that the plot for
Cabaret had more substance, therefor keeping me more interested than Gentlemen Prefer Blondes

Essay about The Civil Rights Movement in the USA
The American declaration of independence stated, that: All men are created equal . But in the 19th
century only whites were born with equal opportunities. Africans were imported as slaves and had to
work on the fields of the whites. Until 1865 the Negroes were treated and looked at as something
lower than human. They were compared to apes, and therefore just owned the same rights as animals.
They were raised believing that whites were superior. It took them years to realize that they have to
stand up for their rights. The uprising turned into a brutal civil war. After the war, the slaves were
freed. The thirteenth, fourteenth and fifteenth amendment of the U.S. constitution prohibited slavery,
discrimination and denegation of the right ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This was considered illegal and Plessy got arrested. Plessy chose to fight his case in court, because the
segregation laws violated the fourteenth amendment. Four years later, the case was brought to the
Supreme Court. The justices ruled against Homer Plessy. Their decision was that segregation is legal
as long as equal facilities were provided. Justice Henry Billings Brown summarized, The object of the
[Fourteenth] amendment was undoubtedly to enforce the equality of the two races before the law, but
in the nature of things it could not have been intended to abolish distinctions based upon color, or to
endorse social, as distinguished from political, equality. . . If one race be inferior to the other socially,
the Constitution of the United States cannot put them upon the same plane. This was the opinion of
most Justices and the majority of the white population at that time. From this quote you can see how
the people still believed that the races were not the same and had to be kept separate. This was
considered normal in the court and in the social life. The fact, that the races were not treated equally,
even though stated within the law, was ignored by the white population. The ruling of the Supreme
Court in this case became law. It did not gain the Negros any more rights or equal opportunities. Still,
it was the first step towards desegregation. It also made people realize that there was still injustice
between the races. Justice John

Cultural Change In The Counterculture
Other cultural changes she experienced during her lifetime were deemed as counterculture . The
counterculture was a significant factor in the fall of the American consensus as new ethos of rebellion
and individuality caused youth to embrace the flawed Volkswagen and for Rock and Roll rebels to
become more mainstream (American Yawp Ch. 27, 2017). While Ms. Hampton did not participate in
the change due to her new marriage and raising children, she stated that she tolerated the new cultural
wave because moving forward was the only option. However, not everyone shared her tolerance as the
1970 s witnessed the struggle to once again compartmentalize society by evoking simpler times with
songs like Okie from Muskogee (American Yawp Ch. 28, 2017). The new cultural wave was anxiety.
The perceived breakdown of law and order affected even the small towns like Ms. Hampton s as
violence protest and political scandals became more common. She recalled the fear many felt towards
the new activist energy of the African Americans and stated that she felt the new form of protests was
unnecessary and did not achieve much . Modern history saw a significant amount of turmoil in the
states as blood was shed over the civil rights. In response to the civil unrest, people had begun to see
the movement through tainted views as it appeared the African Americans had forgone their
nonviolent tactics despite white Americans being the cause of their frustration. This cultural change

Effects Of All Day Kindergarten Programming On Academic...
Effects of All Day Kindergarten Programming On Academic Performance and Classroom Social
Behaviors Pamela DeBraal pdebraal@yahoo.com Introduction For many children, kindergarten is the
first experience of being in an educational setting. The number of children in the United States who
attend either public kindergarten has increased dramatically within the last decade (Clemiinshaw
Guidubaldi, 1979). There has been a long standing debate within the academic community about the
advantages students gain from attending a full day kindergarten class to those that only attended half
day kindergarten. Some critics of full day kindergarten feel a full day schedule is developmentally
inappropriate and too taxing. The few studies addressing this issue found no evidence of increased
student fatigue either (McConnell Tesch,1986). None the less, the question still remains as to the
added benefits for those students who do attend a full day kindergarten schedule to those that do not.
Today, more than 93 percent of all 5 year olds attend kindergarten, but those kindergarten classes can
vary widely (Karweit, 1992). A key difference, and one with significant implications for state budgets,
parents, and children, is whether the class is a full day or half day program. Some kindergarten classes
meet for up to six hours per day, following the same full day schedules found in the lower primary
grades. Other kindergartens use a half day schedule, meeting for only two

Quality Outrage Trauma
Quality outrage is characterized as the demeanor to see an extensive variety of circumstances as
irritating or baffling, and the inclination to react to such circumstances with more regular heights in
state outrage. Spielberger, Jacobs, Russel, Crane (1983) depict characteristic resentment is an
individual emotional demeanor to encounter endless sentiments of indignation regarding time and
crosswise over circumstance. People with high characteristic outrage are inclined to experience
outrage all the more strongly crosswise over circumstances. Spector (2003) and Spielberger (1999)
found that that circumstance is a direct result of an indignation demeanor and more consequence of
negative examinations crosswise over circumstance. Attribute Anger

State Mass Killings in Indonesia 1965 to 1966 Essay
State Mass Killings in Indonesia 1965 to 1966 In order to develop a general framework with which to
understand collective political violence, I examine state mass killings in Indonesia 1965 66. While
acknowledging the importance of historical/cultural factors, I identify elements within the
sociopolitical sphere that influence actors of collective political violence at national, local, and event
specific levels. Elements discussed are elite interests, justification for violence, formal organizations,

Within this framework, I determine the relative importance of historical/cultural factors, elite interests,
justifications for violence, organization and individual perceptions. Finally, I present questions for
future research and preventative policy options. Common explanations of political violence in
Indonesia focus on local culture, the legacies of colonialism, and the social conflicts through which
violence manifests. Often, observers describe such events as spontaneous and uncontrollable. One
obtains the impression that riots are explosions of latent tensions and mass killings, unstoppable
runaway trains. However such explanations are at best incomplete and significantly obscure important
variables. Mass collective violence is rarely spontaneous. Elite interests, formal organizations and
actors at various levels interact to create violent 1 outcomes. I consider such interactions surrounding
the state mass killings in Indonesia 1965 66. The Frames of Violent Forms Defined generally as the
use of physical force or coercion, used with the intention of bringing harm to others (and their material
goods), which is linked to a struggle for power , political violence make take on numerous forms.

Hayek Contribution To Economics
In the acclaimed essay The Use of Knowledge in Society Hayek stated, The price system acts as a
kind of machinery for registering change, or a system of telecommunications which enables individual
producers to watch merely the movement of a few pointers, as an engineer might watch the hands of a
few dials, in order to adjust their activities to changes of which they may never know more than is
reflected in the price movement. In his publication, Hayek claimed the economic problem of society
was not, in fact, how men must allocate attainable resources. The problem at hand was amalgamating
a widespread knowledge to secure resources in the hands of men who could best utilize them. Hayek
articulated that money prices serve as mechanisms for communicating knowledge, and the formation
of prices provides insight as to how acting men utilize information to satisfy their needs. The
emergence of money prices represents information which has been dispersed among all people
involved in the processes of production and consumption. Hayek s essay regarding the use of
knowledge in society and the formation of money prices contains vestiges of his forerunners
contributions to economics. His pioneering work in Austrian economics must be attributed to Ludwig

Reasons For Being A Career As A Nurse
Working as a nurse
I am often asked: Why Did You Choose Nursing as a Career? What inspires young people to study to
become a nurse? I would like the opportunity to present some reasons for choosing nursing as a
profession. Before I present the reasons, I would like to shed light on the history of modern nursing.
Florence Nightingale laid the foundation of professional nursing with the establishment of her nursing
school in London in 1860. She was known as the Lady with the Lamp from her night rounds tending
wounded soldiers in the Crimean War that lasted from 1853 to 1856. Her actions and writings set in
motion a new health care reform, and she played a key role in introducing new professional training
standards for nurses.
That is the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The nurse would have to explain the visiting hours and that the doctors have not made their rounds yet
and that your medical condition is not something to be discussed over the phone. A nurse has to be a
compassionate listener and with a great deal of empathy to be a good nurse.
Another reason to choose nursing is the opportunity to learn new things every day and to challenge
yourself in new situations requiring different sets of skills for each task. One can learn something new
from colleagues and patients on a daily basis, and can be inspired to explore greater knowledge of the
techniques and procedures. As a nurse, you have the opportunity to work in in a variety of medical
settings and situations.
Experiencing different cultures is another reason to choose nursing. Diversity can enrich one s life
working as a nurse. You gain respect in your community and you become known as a good person that
is trustworthy. If you stay in a hospital for some time, you might forget the doctor that spent five
minutes with you every day, but you will dearly remember the nurse that gave you the extra meal or
got you the extra blanket for the cold

Fair Tax Reform
The push for a tax reform continues to be a popular topic. Many people see the current structure as
inequitable and complex. The new proposed tax structure that has been gaining attention is called the
Fair Tax Act. It would institute a national sales tax at a rate of 23% if it were enacted. The idea is to
make the tax structure more simplistic and spread out the tax burden. Another interesting proposed
change relates to tax brackets. These brackets would no longer be needed to decide rates on taxable
income. Investments will also be much different and potentially have a greater economic impact
because the tax on capital gains and property will no longer be in existence. These are just a few of the
changes that could occur with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
People would be getting taxed on what they spend since it is a sales tax, similar to what is seen now. It
would be much higher, but people would also be receiving a much higher paycheck. This would help
to prevent double taxation that periodically occurs. Spending habits will become important to watch
and see if people will want to spend less to prevent paying taxes. However, less spending may have a
questionable impact on the economy and for businesses. This could also affect the amount of funding
government programs would receive in the new form of taxation proposed in the Fair Tax Act rather
than having federal taxes withheld, such as FICA taxes. Investments will also be treated differently.
The current tax structure has a tax on the gain of long term assets at a preferential rate. This reduces
the actual gain made on investments. However, the Fair Tax Act would no longer have a tax on capital
gains. There would be fewer restrictions and have the ability move them more freely. This would be a
much different structure than the current structure and provide more of an economic impact.
The Fair Tax Act would bring about many changes to the tax system. It would be a large change to the
tax process and provide different attributes for the economy. Some of these key changes would bring
about new behaviors and affect how society functions as a

Agricultural Literacy In Agriculture
Agriculture is a staple of every community, people have just lost sight of that. Smith and Park (2006)
report, In 1900, 41% of the American population was employed in agriculture, as compared to 1.9% of
the population in 2002 . How have we become so far removed from the agricultural life that we
believe the propaganda spread about it? Smith and Park (2006) explain why ignorance to agricultural
life has thrived,
Agricultural literacy is an issue that has gained attention in recent years and is a subject of concern to
those in the agriculture business. With fewer agricultural programs offered in schools, generations of
young people are being raised with little knowledge of agriculture. As this cycle continues, lack of
knowledge creates and perpetuates stereotypes concerning farming.
The disconnect between the urban public and rural communities has caused a lot of misunderstandings
on how their food is produced. Balschweid, Thompson, and Cole (1998) state,
As general concerns rise over the way our food is produced, public impressions are tainted by the
actions of special interest groups (Lichte Birkenholz, 1993). As a result, many Americans elect and
influence lawmakers to directly intervene in the practices used in producing our food and fiber
(Hamlin,1962). Because this nation is two full generations removed from living and working on
farms, lawmakers cannot be expected to make informed decisions regarding the safe and appropriate
production of our food supply (Flood

Advantage And Disadvantage Of Hydrogels
Part two Hydrogels have a lot of benefits and used in many uses, but they have limited usage in some
cases due to their low mechanical properties, low gel fraction in the swollen state. These drawbacks
due to the limit of the molecular of polymer chains by the three dimension crosslinking in its structure

In this part we want to improve the disadvantages without loss the advantage of hydrogels, by

Comparing Relational Database And Data Storage Essay
Introduction
This paper will discuss the main difference between the relational database optimized for on line
transactions and a data warehouse optimized for processing and summarizing large amounts of data.
Next this author will outline the difference database requirements for operational data for decision
support data. Next this paper will describe three example in which databases could be used to support
decision making in a large organizational environment. Lastly this author will describe three other
examples in which data warehoused and data mining could be used to support data processing and
trend analysis in a large organizational environment.
Difference between Relational Database and Data Warehouse Optimized
What are the main differences between the structure of a relational database optimized for online
transactions versus a data warehouse optimized for processing and summarizing large amounts of
data? Relational database online transaction consist a unit of work performed within a database
management system and treated in a coherent and reliable way independent of other transactions.
Many types of organization use this type of transaction, consumer use this type of transaction when
using their ATM. The short answer is, these types of transaction are great at collecting data. OLTP are
fast transactions recording process like sales transaction or ATM machines. Also, used in Health Care
recording patient information.

Role Of Lethal Lipotoxic Hepatocyte Injury
Lethal Lipotoxic Hepatocyte Injury
Accumulation of lipid intermediates in hepatocytes causes hepatocellular lipotoxicity, leading to
cellular stress, dysfunction and eventually cell death. Lipotoxicity induced hepatocyte cell death
appears to be mainly mediated by the apoptotic machinery activated by death receptors and
endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress.5 6 Other cell death modes, such as necroptosis and pyroptosis,
have also been reviewed recently.6 7 However, the contribution of necroptosis in lipid induced
hepatocyte death during NASH needs further definition.6 8 Albeit growing evidence supports a role
for the inflammasome in NASH development, the contribution of hepatocyte pyroptosis to
hepatocellular injury and death also needs to be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ballooned hepatocytes are not only a hallmark of NASH but also, they have been implicated in the
disease pathogenesis. Ballooned hepatocytes generate sonic hedgehog (Shh), a ligand of the
developmental hedgehog signaling cascade, which promotes liver fibrogenesis.11 12 Later, ballooned
hepatocytes were proposed to represent undead cells .13 Ballooned hepatocytes bear some analogy to
Drosophila melanogaster stressed cells which exist in a state of initiated cell death program that
cannot be executed ( undead ) and secrete various factors, including Shh, to promote tissue repair and
healing.14 Models of undead ballooned hepatocytes using lipotoxic treatment in hepatocytes lacking
caspase 9, a protease critical for the execution of the apoptotic pathway, are characterized by
activation of c Jun N terminal kinase (JNK), which led to an upregulation of Shh in the absence of cell
death. In these cells, lipotoxicity induced hepatocyte derived Shh functioned as an autocrine survival
factor. These observations imply that inhibition of hedgehog signaling may prevent the development
of ballooned hepatocytes, a hypothesis yet to be tested.
ER stress has also been shown to promote expression and secretion of Shh by hepatocytes.12 Shh may
then promote fibrogenesis by activating hepatic stellate cells, the major target cells of hepatic Shh
signaling. Hepatocytes are also an important hedgehog responsive cell type during lipotoxicity. First,
hepatocytes express different

  • 3. Edgar Allan Poe Inference An inference we can make about Edgar Allan Poe is that he writes to show the downsides of love. In the article A Terrible Evil : Edgar Allan Poe Writes About His Wife s Illness and Death by Rebecca Onion it states, Again in about a year afterward. Then again again again even once again at varying intervals. Each time I felt all the agonies of her death and at each accession of the disorder I loved her more dearly clung to her life with more desperate pertinacity. Poe s wife was constantly ill and each time she became better Poe had hope, but them she would fall ill again and Poe would be in agony. The love that he had for his wife caused him to be in pain when ever she was ill which is a downside of live that he writes about. In the poem The Raven by Edgar Allan Poe it is written, From my books surcease of sorrow sorrow for the lost Lenore For the rare and radiant maiden whom the angels name Lenore Nameless here for evermore. The narrator is morning the loss of his love Lenore. • 6. How Successful Was The Boxer Rebellion The Boxer Rebellion of 1898 1901 is one of the best known but least understood events in Chinese History. The Boxers were a group of Chinese peasants who despised every aspect of foreigners and sought vengeance for the series of humiliations that China had suffered. Their primary objective was to drive out all foreign influence out of China, which begs the question to what extent were the Boxers successful in their fight against Imperialism? Throughout the nineteenth century, China was threatened by the corruption of progress and foreign influence losing in both the Opium Wars and the Sino Japanese War because of their inferiority to the European military technology which reflected the level of corruption and military backwardness present ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Historian Victor Purcell s most widely held view of the Boxers is that they began as a conservative anti Qing movement; in other words, they opposed the existing government that started to conform to Western powers. The efforts of the Boxer Rebellion was redundant in the sense that they led a reformation. Although the Chinese government was mainly conservative it was still being controlled by the foreign spheres of influence due to the unequal treaties signed to conclude the Opium and Sino Japanese Wars. The Boxers were becoming well known practice, as their continuous rampages and notable incidences linked to them gained the attention of conservative officials at the court, whom of which convinced the Empress Dowager Cixi to view the Boxers as a useful asset for resisting foreign pressure. Cixi had instructed provincial officials to not suppress the Boxers activities. Gaining the full support of the Qing government meant they could fully focus on foreigners from that point on. The Boxer s feat of gaining the support of the Qing government, which was being controlled by the West supports the notion that China managed to drive out a considerable amount of influence. In spite of the protest by the Western Powers and the ultimatum presented to Cixi, which was to legitimize the foreign suppression of the Boxers or to legalize the Boxer uprising and Collaborate with them. Empress Cixi chose the latter option because she believed that the Western powers were trying to revive the power of the pro western Emperor and use him a puppet to control China whose power was stripped away from ... Both films are musicals about cabaret dancers except Gentlemen Prefer Blondes stars two leading ladies whereas Cabaret only has one leading lady. Another similarity between the two films is the gold digger aspect, Lorelei being the gold digger in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes are only interested in materialistic things which is very similar to Sally s interest in a wealthy man except Sally is also interested in what a wealthy man can do for her acting career. A few of the differences in the two films were that they are filmed during different era s and so being that Gentlemen Prefer Blondes was filmed in the early fifties, it is much more conservative and even though Cabaret is set in the thirties the film was actually filmed in the early seventies when it was popular to really push the envelope and so this films plot is much more risqué. Another difference with these two films is that in Cabaret the plot is more dramatic really focusing on the rise of Nazism and the topic of sexual preference by having the three main characters becoming involved in a love triangle. Gentlemen Prefer Blondes was more of a carefree comedy with not a lot of the plot. Overall I would have to say that the plot for Cabaret had more substance, therefor keeping me more interested than Gentlemen Prefer Blondes ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

But in the 19th century only whites were born with equal opportunities. Africans were imported as slaves and had to work on the fields of the whites. Until 1865 the Negroes were treated and looked at as something lower than human. They were compared to apes, and therefore just owned the same rights as animals. They were raised believing that whites were superior. It took them years to realize that they have to stand up for their rights. The uprising turned into a brutal civil war. After the war, the slaves were freed. The thirteenth, fourteenth and fifteenth amendment of the U.S. constitution prohibited slavery, discrimination and denegation of the right ... Four years later, the case was brought to the Supreme Court. The justices ruled against Homer Plessy. Their decision was that segregation is legal as long as equal facilities were provided. Justice Henry Billings Brown summarized, The object of the [Fourteenth] amendment was undoubtedly to enforce the equality of the two races before the law, but in the nature of things it could not have been intended to abolish distinctions based upon color, or to endorse social, as distinguished from political, equality. . . If one race be inferior to the other socially, the Constitution of the United States cannot put them upon the same plane. This was the opinion of most Justices and the majority of the white population at that time. From this quote you can see how the people still believed that the races were not the same and had to be kept separate. This was considered normal in the court and in the social life. The fact, that the races were not treated equally, even though stated within the law, was ignored by the white population. The ruling of the Supreme Court in this case became law. It did not gain the Negros any more rights or equal opportunities. Still, it was the first step towards desegregation. It also made people realize that there was still injustice between the races. • 11. Cultural Change In The Counterculture Other cultural changes she experienced during her lifetime were deemed as counterculture . The counterculture was a significant factor in the fall of the American consensus as new ethos of rebellion and individuality caused youth to embrace the flawed Volkswagen and for Rock and Roll rebels to become more mainstream (American Yawp Ch. 27, 2017). While Ms. Hampton did not participate in the change due to her new marriage and raising children, she stated that she tolerated the new cultural wave because moving forward was the only option. However, not everyone shared her tolerance as the 1970 s witnessed the struggle to once again compartmentalize society by evoking simpler times with songs like Okie from Muskogee (American Yawp Ch. 28, 2017). The new cultural wave was anxiety. The perceived breakdown of law and order affected even the small towns like Ms. Hampton s as violence protest and political scandals became more common. She recalled the fear many felt towards the new activist energy of the African Americans and stated that she felt the new form of protests was unnecessary and did not achieve much . Modern history saw a significant amount of turmoil in the states as blood was shed over the civil rights. In response to the civil unrest, people had begun to see the movement through tainted views as it appeared the African Americans had forgone their nonviolent tactics despite white Americans being the cause of their frustration. • 12. Effects Of All Day Kindergarten Programming On Academic... Effects of All Day Kindergarten Programming On Academic Performance and Classroom Social Behaviors Pamela DeBraal pdebraal@yahoo.com Introduction For many children, kindergarten is the first experience of being in an educational setting. The number of children in the United States who attend either public kindergarten has increased dramatically within the last decade (Clemiinshaw Guidubaldi, 1979). There has been a long standing debate within the academic community about the advantages students gain from attending a full day kindergarten class to those that only attended half day kindergarten. Some critics of full day kindergarten feel a full day schedule is developmentally inappropriate and too taxing. The few studies addressing this issue found no evidence of increased student fatigue either (McConnell Tesch,1986). None the less, the question still remains as to the added benefits for those students who do attend a full day kindergarten schedule to those that do not. Today, more than 93 percent of all 5 year olds attend kindergarten, but those kindergarten classes can vary widely (Karweit, 1992). A key difference, and one with significant implications for state budgets, parents, and children, is whether the class is a full day or half day program. Some kindergarten classes meet for up to six hours per day, following the same full day schedules found in the lower primary grades. Other kindergartens use a half day schedule, meeting for only two ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

People with high characteristic outrage are inclined to experience outrage all the more strongly crosswise over circumstances. Often, observers describe such events as spontaneous and uncontrollable. One obtains the impression that riots are explosions of latent tensions and mass killings, unstoppable runaway trains. However such explanations are at best incomplete and significantly obscure important variables. Mass collective violence is rarely spontaneous. Elite interests, formal organizations and actors at various levels interact to create violent 1 outcomes. I consider such interactions surrounding the state mass killings in Indonesia 1965 66. The Frames of Violent Forms Defined generally as the use of physical force or coercion, used with the intention of bringing harm to others (and their material goods), which is linked to a struggle for power , political violence make take on numerous forms. Such forms are characterized by varying elements of intensity, destructiveness, and duration. It is not my intention to provide a general descriptive theory of political violence. • 16. Hayek Contribution To Economics In the acclaimed essay The Use of Knowledge in Society Hayek stated, The price system acts as a kind of machinery for registering change, or a system of telecommunications which enables individual producers to watch merely the movement of a few pointers, as an engineer might watch the hands of a few dials, in order to adjust their activities to changes of which they may never know more than is reflected in the price movement. In his publication, Hayek claimed the economic problem of society was not, in fact, how men must allocate attainable resources. The problem at hand was amalgamating a widespread knowledge to secure resources in the hands of men who could best utilize them. Hayek articulated that money prices serve as mechanisms for communicating knowledge, and the formation of prices provides insight as to how acting men utilize information to satisfy their needs. The emergence of money prices represents information which has been dispersed among all people involved in the processes of production and consumption. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Ballooned hepatocytes are not only a hallmark of NASH but also, they have been implicated in the disease pathogenesis. Ballooned hepatocytes generate sonic hedgehog (Shh), a ligand of the developmental hedgehog signaling cascade, which promotes liver fibrogenesis.11 12 Later, ballooned hepatocytes were proposed to represent undead cells .13 Ballooned hepatocytes bear some analogy to Drosophila melanogaster stressed cells which exist in a state of initiated cell death program that cannot be executed ( undead ) and secrete various factors, including Shh, to promote tissue repair and healing.14 Models of undead ballooned hepatocytes using lipotoxic treatment in hepatocytes lacking caspase 9, a protease critical for the execution of the apoptotic pathway, are characterized by activation of c Jun N terminal kinase (JNK), which led to an upregulation of Shh in the absence of cell death. In these cells, lipotoxicity induced hepatocyte derived Shh functioned as an autocrine survival factor. These observations imply that inhibition of hedgehog signaling may prevent the development of ballooned hepatocytes, a hypothesis yet to be tested. ER stress has also been shown to promote expression and secretion of Shh by hepatocytes.12 Shh may then promote fibrogenesis by activating hepatic stellate cells, the major target cells of hepatic Shh signaling.
