Teaching Level Field Experience Requirements
The IR states (pp. 40 41) that the unit s field experience requirements are sequenced to align with PDE
recommendations. There are four stages of field experience:
Observation,
Exploration,
Pre student Teaching, and
Student Teaching.
The early field experiences in each of the initial programs focus on observation and exploration.
Cooperating teachers can provide additional opportunities based on the candidates readiness and
abilities.
The methods pre student teaching level field experiences for juniors/seniors are lengthier because
candidates are expected to tutor individual students, work with small groups of students, and even

How Did Martha Graham Integrate The Themes Of History
Countless artists have created works that integrate themes of historical events. Martha Graham, also
known as the Mother of Modern Dance, has produced several renowned pieces with this. I believe that
her piece, Panorama, is a great example of a piece that uses history that is timeless. The dance was
choreographed in 1935 for students at Bennington College in Vermont during their summer dance
workshops. These workshops contained unique American modern dancers and choreographers that
shared their ideas and technique. The piece is separated into three sections named, Theme of
Dedication, Imperial Theme, and Popular Theme . It premiered on August 14th, 1935. The set was
designed by Arch Lauterer and Mobiles were created by Alexander Calder. Panorama was performed
by 35 women all wearing red skirts and matching tops. I believe that Graham chose these costumes
because dresses are very feminine and many of her pieces have dresses as costumes. I also ... Show

The stock market crashed so people lost their jobs, and many women were fired so men could have
more job opportunities. Women were left to work in the house and take care of the children as
housewives. Before this, women were just beginning to gain more rights, and now during this time
they were watching them being taken away again. This left women very angry and frustrated. Dance
served as a great outlet to express these feelings to the public. I agree with the decision to reconstruct
the piece in present day. Kim Jones restaged the piece for 33 dancers from University of North
Carolina Charlotte, Charlotte Mecklenburg public schools, Charlotte Ballet and local choreographers.
Dancers performed two performances together with the Martha Graham Dance Company at the

JUDICIAL REVIEW AND THE INDIAN COURTS
Introduction
Judicial Review is basically an aspect of judicial power of the state which is exercised by the courts to
determine the validity of a rule of law or an action of any agency of the state. The courts have the
power of testing the validity of legislative as well as other governmental action with reference to the
provisions of the constitution. The judiciary tries to undo the harm that is being done by the legislature
and executive and they also try to provide every citizen what has been guaranteed by the constitution.
Judicial review has a more technical significance in public law, ... Show more content on

Judicial Review in India
The constitution of India, in this respect, is more similar to the U.S. Constitution than the British.
Under the constitution of India parliament is not supreme. Its powers are limited in the two ways.
First, there is the division of powers between the union and the states. Parliament is allowed to pass
laws only with respect to those subjects which are guaranteed to the citizens against every form of
legislative encroachment. The power of judicial review of legislation is given to the judiciary both by
the political theory and text of the constitution. There are several specific provisions in the Indian
constitution, judicial review of legislation such as Act 13, 32, 131 136, 143, 226, 145, 246, 251, 254
and 372.
Judicial review is a great weapon given to the judges. It includes the power of a court to hold illegal
and unenforceable any law or order based upon such law or some other activity by an open power
which is conflicting or in clash with the fundamental law that must be adhered to. Truth be told, the
investigation of constitutional law may be depicted as an investigation of the precept of judicial
review in action. The courts have force to strike down any law, on the off chance that they trust it to be
unconstitutional. In the case I.R. Coelho v. State of Tamil Nadu the court laid down a

The Gunpowder Plot Of 1605
The Gunpowder Plot of 1605 reveals a deep and rich history of the animosity between the Protestant
and Catholic sects of the Christian Church. The official tale tells of Catholic conspirators planning to
kill King James I and a majority of Parliament in a statement against Protestantism. Though Robert
Cecil caught Guy Fawkes in the cellar of the Parliament Building and many associated with the plot
possessed good reason to attempt a mass killing against a predominantly Protestant government, large
amounts of evidence suggest that Protestants likely framed the Catholics for an attempt on King James
and a majority of Parliament s lives. When considering the time period, England held a large
monopoly on the sale of gunpowder, preventing the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Elizabeth planned to have James give Catholics false hope, pretending that she gave the throne to the
Catholics. Elizabeth proceeded to set the Gunpowder Plot so that James may fully deal with the
Catholics, hiding a Protestant Guy Fawkes with the Catholics and starting the plot with Catesby.
Considering the influence religion held in the time period, Guy Fawkes and Robert Catesby more than
likely sacrificed their lives for the Anglican Protestant Church, convincing more radical Catholics to
join their faux plan, while secretly planning to defame the Catholic name and to accuse their entire
Catholic group of treason. When Robert Cecil captured Fawkes, Fawkes proceeds to state that there
was no trick, essentially killing himself as a scapegoat for his beloved Protestant Church. Had Fawkes
been a Catholic, he could have destroyed a large part of Parliament with little proof or remains of
Catholic involvement as the first suicide bomber; instead, he peaceably accepted arrest and

The Things They Carried The Weight Of Life Essay
The Weight of Life
They carried the sky. The whole atmosphere, they carried it, the humidity, the monsoons, the stink of
fungus and decay, all of it, they carried gravity, (O Brien 114). The Things They Carried follows army
men as they endure the hardships of battle. Through the story, we are introduced to the characters by
what they carry with them. Each object reveals continuously more about the characters that ultimately
brings us to an understanding of who they are. The use of objects in this story relates well with my
life. By looking at what I carry, it can be determined who I am. May it be a driver s license, style
choice, or even the way one carries himself; it can be determined (at least roughly) who someone is.
However, it is the meaning behind what we carry that truly defines who we are. Tangible or intangible,
what we carry tells our individual story ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I personally relate well to a specific portion of this story. Lieutenant Jimmy Cross carried a pebble
with him everywhere he went. It may seem absurd to carry a pebble while at war... what s the use,
right? However, he carried more than just a pebble; he carried his love for Martha through that
seemingly useless rock. I too carried an object like that pebble: something seemingly useless. I
acquired a green wrist band while with my good friend. This was one of the last times I spoke to her.
From that day on, I wore the green wrist band every minute of every hour for two years. Although I
cared very much for her, the feelings only went in one direction. Every time I looked down at the
green band it reminded me of her. One day the green wrist band finally snapped... but I wasn t sad.
When it gave out it was almost like closure for me. When the small weight of that band was lifted
from my wrist, an even larger weight was lifted from my heart. I looked down at the fractured band,
smiled, and threw it

Income Inequality In Education
In today s economic society, the presence of income inequality has only grown worse and shows no
visible signs of stopping. According to an economics professor Emmanuel Saez, U.S. income
inequality has been increasing steadily since the 1970s, and now has reached levels not seen since
1928. This calls for an alarm to the people in social groups such as women and low income families.
Income inequality is brought to life by factors the can be influenced by properties of our nations
policies. The economic and public policies in the United States has led to income inequality due to the
factors of education, discrimination, and monopoly power.
In the United States, education has been known cause a larger economic gap for income inequality to
fill and sustain itself. This gap can be directly correlated with the price or tuition costs of education.
According to Catharine Bond Hill, The increased net price that lower income students face, hurts both
their enrollment and completion. The high cost of education causes low income individuals to receive
lower paying jobs due to the inability to receive higher education. The ability of the federal
government to participate in policies have slightly decreased over the years. When it comes to the
reduction of policies, the correlation between an increase in the income inequality of education can be
seen. This occurs because government policies are responsible for changes such as allocating
resources to entities such as education. The

The Collapse Of North Korean State Essay
Assess the possibility of the collapse of the North Korean state in the next 5 7 years by examining the
influence and impact of relevant geopolitical factors/conditions.
As one of the most antagonizing countries, North Korea seems to find the wrath of the United Nations
more frequently than any other sovereign nation. The country s human rights abuses and violations of
international law have led the international community to impose heavy trade sanctions with North
Korea (cite). While the country attempts to be largely self sufficient, malnutrition is a growing
problem for the people of North Korea (worldhunger). Based on its geographic location and violation
of international law in regards to nuclear capabilities and human rights abuses, North Korea is in a
perilous situation in the next seven years. Its increasing globalization and fervent nationalism suggest,
however, that while the country may evolve and become more globalized, it will survive as the
contentious nation state it is today. The physical geography of North Korea does little to stabilize the 5
to 7 year outlook for the country. Despite being bordered by two amicable countries to the North,
China and Russia, North Korea s southern border makes its physical geography a potentially
destabilizing factor. The Northern border is largely shared with China, stretching along the Yalu River
(Yu). This border is where the majority of imports come into North Korea, as China is North Korea s
largest trading partner

Vaccination Argumentative Essay
Vaccinations serve the primary function of protecting and strengthening immune functions. The
purpose of vaccinations is to prepare the immune system from these pathogenic invasions by injecting

Anzia Yezierska’s Novel, Bread Givers Essay
Anzia Yezierska s 1925 novel Bread Givers ends with Sara Smolinsky s realization that her father s
tyrannical behavior is the product of generations of tradition from which he is unable to escape.
Despite her desire to embrace the New World she has just won her place in, she attempts to reconcile
with her father and her Jewish heritage. The novel is about the tension inherent in trying to fit Old and
New worlds together: Reb tries to make his Old World fit into the new, while Sara tries to make her

Reb holds the sanctity of his religion so deeply that he will not even consider getting a job as a Rabbi
because he believes it would turn him into a false prophet selling his religion to Americanized Jews
(111). Even after he is tricked into buying the grocery store, he insists that everything that happens is
from God, for our good (125). Reb loves America for being the land of opportunity, where can start
with nothing and end up becoming a millionaire like Rockefeller; but he despises it for granting too
much to women: Woe to America where women are let free like men (205). Sara has wanted to get
away from her family her entire life: I was always saying to myself, if I ever had a quarter or a half
dollar in my hand, I d run away from home and never look on our dirty house again (22). But the
instant she does have this money, her only desire is to go home and show everyone what she is
capable of achieving. This is the essence of Sara s struggle: her aspiration to become a teacher stems
from her desire to prove to her family, specifically Reb, that she, as a woman, has worth in and of
herself (155). She signs up for classes wanting a quick education in exactly the same manner Reb buys
the grocery store (162). She is filled with an intense desire to succeed as quickly as possible, as though
were she not to become a teacher as quickly as possible, it would not happen at all. She does not even

present that are seeking their own foothold in the country s struggle over power. However, this was
not always the case and an examination will take place into weather the conflict can be defined as

The Museum Of Anthropology And The Smithsonian Museum
Try, if you would, to recall your last visit to a museum or other similar institution. Did you
immediately accept the information presented to you as fact? Did you stop to think about how a
particular exhibit represents a culture and whether or not it was accurate? Since their origin, museums
were created for the purpose of preservation and interpretation of the material culture they exhibit, and
have been the most widely accepted method for the dissemination of information pertaining to other
cultures. That being said, there is an increasing amount of discourse today questioning the value of
museums and the ways in which their exhibition of material culture actually serves to devalue or
misrepresent their cultures of origin. For this research paper, I have decided to focus in the collections
of material culture present in the Beloit College Logan Museum of Anthropology and the Smithsonian
Museum. First, I begin by sharing what I have learned about the history surrounding the origins of
museums. Next, I identify the ways in which museums obscure and misrepresent the cultures they
display through their exhibits either intentionally or otherwise. Finally, I attempt to utilize what I have
learned in order to compare the two institutions and identify the ways in which they have taken steps
to keep up with modern museological and discourse.
To begin, preservation and interpretation, the concepts that form the basis of museums, originates

Although he is best known for his works as a successful adult, William Shakespeare was once a child.

late 1570s. Shakespeare s family was very financially successful during most of his childhood. This

The Future Of Electric Energy
Upon the first discovery of electricity, the subjects of electricity and magnetism would go on to
revolutionize life as we know it. With the rudimentary work completed by the leaders within the field,
such as Benjamin Franklin or Nikola Tesla, these brilliant scientists laid the foundation that would go
on to become arguably one of the most important aspects of our forever changed society. Although we
have learned to incorporate electricity, it has many uses within our lives. Electric energy is at the
forefront of our world s business, engineering, and medical sectors of the workforce. Public
transportation is rapidly getting on the radar for developing new technologies to better serve
consumers. With great emphasis being placed on living more eco friendly lives and the increasing
costs of energy, these more efficient transportation models will change the face of history. One major
point driving this initiative is the pull back of fossil fuel consumption, and the reduction of greenhouse
gases being released into our atmosphere. Both historians and energy experts agree that as society
advances, there is a need for more concentrated, powerful forms of energy, like rocket fuel instead of
gasoline. Electric vehicles are one of these technologies to hit the consumer markets. Companies such
as Toyota and Tesla are beginning to manufacture both hybrid and electric vehicles. Electric cars work

Thin Client Computer Lab Project
Introduction Computers are an integral part of 21st century life, and as such technology education is
recognized as part of the Illinois Learning Standards (ISBE, 2008). A computer lab is an efficient way
to deliver access to computers and the Internet to students. Traditional labs, like the one at Dvorak
Technology Academy, are populated with complete, standalone computer systems. In network terms
these are fat clients , because each workstation is a complete system, with its own memory and disk
space and performing most if not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A thin client lab will allow Dvorak to extend its financial resources by saving on new computer
resources and extending the life of existing assets. In addition, computer lab fat clients require
substantial maintenance to keep the systems in working order. While CPS s computer support systems
help with this task through programs like Deep Freeze, routine hardware maintenance as well as
software installs and updates not covered by CPS can be a significant drain on technology coordinator
resources. A thin client architecture can reduce the workload of the technology coordinators by
centralizing management and reducing the kinds of workstation maintenance that needs to be done.
Finally, thin client networks are very scaleable. If, in the future, web based applications or
productivity applications require more processing power than is currently available in the lab,
additional servers can be added to the system to handle the added load instead of upgrading all of the
workstations. As classroom desktop computers are upgraded, the older classroom machines can be
used as additional workstations in the lab, or replace failing lab systems, or deployed in a new lab.

Atlanta Divorce Case Study
If you are considering hiring an Atlanta divorce attorney, there are several things you must take into
your careful consideration. The options abound; there are hundreds of lawyers available out there who
are willing to handle your case. Ending a marriage is not at all an easy decision. It is often a stressful
situation. Dealing with the legal aspects associated with these types of cases can further make things
more problematic for you. Therefore, having an expert legal representative is crucial. To choose the
best, you must follow certain guidelines. Following is a brief rundown on five important factors you
have to work on. Experience An Atlanta divorce attorney who is highly experienced in handling
divorce cases in your area can make things a little less stressful while making sure your rights and
interests are well protected and that you get a fair judgment. Experience matters a lot, as it allows the
lawyer to make the best use of his/her knowledge and expertise in a way that benefits you. Attorneys
with substantial experience know how the laws work in your jurisdiction and what to expect of the
judges in which circumstances. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But, attorneys who work like jack of all trade are often not very useful. They tend to take every case
that comes their way, which indicates that they are more interested in earning money than in helping
you get a fair judgment. Therefore, you are strongly recommended to consider only those lawyers who
have specialization primarily in the field of divorce law

Discrimination Against Muslims
Being a Muslim in America country is a struggle, and ever since 9/11, things have taken a turn for
Muslims. When Trump was elected president, the discrimination against Muslims has grown stronger.
People need to be educated about Muslim culture and eliminate the perception that every Muslim is a
terrorist. The community I am looking towards on the University of Kentucky campus is the MSA.
The MSA is the Muslim Student Association and their goal is to promote Islam and teach us all about
the peaceful nature of the religion. Throughout my paper these 5 sources that I researched played a
major role in the Muslim community. My first source was a video called Muslim leaders speak out

He also had emotion because he was a Muslim, he experienced hate and the person who receives hate

The Basics Of Dog Obedience Training

Dog Obedience Training simply means the training of any dog. It could range from basic (beginner s)
training to a high level (advanced) competition among different clubs where more accuracy and
commands as well as performance are judged and scored. A lot of dog trainers have a lot of fun during
different competition events.
How would you know if the dog is obedient? Just start training with the basic commands and see if it
responds each time you give the command. You can consider dog obedient, instead of just trained in

very simple commands. Most methods are designed for dog to be trained one command at a time. A
good way to start Dog Obedience Training is leash control (walking as it should be on a leash). The
majority of trainers require dogs to walk on a leash before learning other commands.
Once you learned control your dog on a leash, move on to the next step. When handler is training the
dog, there may or may not be a specific word attached to it. There are certain commands that are

Basic Dog Obedience Command Sit is Given to the Puppy Sit: the dog simply sits when command is
given.
Down: the dog lies down with front feet and rear legs touching the ground.
Heel: the dog s shoulder or head is close and parallel to the handler s leg.
Come (recall command): literally means to Call your dog . Very important command in dog obedience

form is supplied prior to the departure from the business facility. They transport the materials to the
shredding company s warehouse near Pine Grove, South of Hood River, where the documents are
moved into a fenced, locked area inside the secure warehouse. All paper is weighed and the number of
pounds, shredded, baled and recycled, is reported and credited to each county s DEQ, Department of

3. Explain the basic logic of probability theory
Probability can be a complex field of mathematics, but in its simplest definition it is the likelhood of
an event being true divided by the total number of possibilities. For example, flipping a coin has two
possibilities: heads or tails. There is only one way for a coin to land on heads, so the answer to this
probability question is 1:2.
1. In a poll, respondents were asked whether they had ever been in a car accident. 177 respondents
indicated that they had been in a car accident and 107 respondents said that they had not been in a car
accident. If one of these respondents is randomly selected, what is the probability of getting someone
who has been in a car accident? 177 = Probability of choosing someone who was in a car accident
because fraction cannot be reduced any more 107 than it is. So the odds are 177 out of 284 total
choices.

Description of an Off-Campus Event
Stepping outside of one s own comfort zone is not an always an easy accomplishment. It can be very
uncomfortable to do something that would never usually be a part of your normal everyday life,
especially when it involves your religion and beliefs. On the flipside of all the lack of comfort, doing
something you usually would not do has many great benefits, such as learning new ideas and facts,
meeting new people, and overall broadening your knowledge of the world. As a non denominational
Christian, I decided to challenge myself by attending a religious event that I would never typically
attend. On Sunday, March 30th, I attended a Mass service at a Roman Catholic Church; specifically
St. Gabriel Parish in Norwood, Pennsylvania with a Catholic friend of mine that I was visiting for the
weekend. This was the first time I ever attended an actual Sunday morning service that was Catholic,
and I found it to be quite the interesting experience, even though it was not as unusual for me as I had
originally presumed it would be. I grew up in Norwood right near St. Gabriel, and passed it every day
to go to my good friend s home that was a football field length away from the churches front doors,
but I have never attended a Mass there, or at any other Catholic church for that matter. I have always
had a negative mentality when it comes to St. Gabriel because growing up the priest at the church
would often scold me and my friends for playing stickball in the alleyway between the church

The Silent Film Within Our Gates
In 1920, Oscar Micheaux directed the silent film Within Our Gates which conducts an in depth
examination of race relations and discrimination within the United States. One of the outcomes of the
film is a blatant failure of justice resulting in the lynching of an African American couple, The
Landrys. Seemingly, time has not altered the inherent absence of justice concerning the treatment of
Black men and women in situations where criminal activity is suspected, legitimately or otherwise.
Evidence is found with the killings of Eric Garner, Michael Brown, Tamir Rice, and many other Black
victims who died at the hands of police who are tasked with upholding justice and fail to do so.
However, what was the popular sentiment toward failure within the legal system between 1920 and
2015? While not representative of this entire time span, in 1962, Robert Mulligan s film To Kill a
Mockingbird focuses on race relations and an African American male wrongly accused of rape who is
ultimately killed in a suspicious police shooting. Within Our Gates and To Kill a Mockingbird each
offer a presentation of a gross miscarriage of justice that is obvious to the omniscient viewer, but the
reaction the films garner from the audience varies from outrage to resignation due to the
implementation (or lack thereof) of a visual stimuli, telling of the time period in which the films were
produced.
The theme of a failure of justice for African Americans living in the present day United States dates

Modernist Movement in Ford s Good Soldier and Woolf s...
Ford Madox Ford and Virginia Woolf were major contributors to the modernist movement. They, as
well as others (such as James Joyce), were trying something new, by breaking down the boundaries of
traditional writing. Ford s Good Soldier and Woolf s Mrs. Dalloway are two particular examples of the
genre. These novels were not well received in their own time. As time went on, however, the attitudes
of the literary world changed and were able to finally see these works for what they really are
exemplary pieces of fiction, certainly worth merit.
The Good Soldier was first published in 1915. Rebecca West penned a promising review for the year,

He questions Dowell s mental balance because he degrades Florence, his wife, for her indiscretions.
Edward Ashburnham is guilty of the very same things, yet he is still regarded as good people. He also
wonders at the meaning of the narrator s nearly phobic concern with Catholicism, or of the way in
which his slurs at Leonora are justified by her attachment to that persuasion (46).
If the implication is that John Dowell is crazy, Schorer is failing to see other psychological reasons
why a man such as Dowell would think this way. It is evident that our narrator has not fully processed
all of the events before he begins to tell of them. In addition, Dowell obviously wants to continue
thinking highly of Ashburnham the good soldier, and this completes John s psychological quandary. At
the very least, Schorer recognizes the merit of The Good Soldier, and his essay appears to understand
the deliberate complexities of the novel.
Charles Hoffman likens The Good Soldier to an allegory, the breakup of civilization itself, heading
toward disaster (53). Even while the quartet is falling apart, however, they still put on the proverbial
brave face and, to all outward appearances, are just fine. This can be applied to the world at large.
Ford also exposes the evil kernel within the hearts of mankind. To others, these are good people, but

The Effects Of Visual Aids On Children
Throughout the many many years of marketing companies have used visual aids to attract their desired
audiences, in doing doing this they tend to reinforce gender stereotypes whether they did it
purposefully or not. One advertisement that enforces the everyday gender norm is a Hans socks
commercial from 2009, In the commercial you have the Father the son, and the mother in the same
room, the father is dipping his son s foot within a bucket of white paste in order to create socks that
comfortably fit them perfectly, the mother states that the idea is stupid and hands the son and the
father Hans socks that she conveniently bought for them on her way home. In the Hans commercial,
the father plays the idiotic role, the son plays the role of doing whatever there father thinks is a smart
idea, and the mother is the one that has the common sense in the family and she saves the day.
Companies tend to manifest gender roles when commercializing a product, from car companies using
male drivers, following the males are better drivers stereotype, majority of the time to showcase their
latest automotive vehicles, and vacuum selling companies using women, emphasizing the women are
the housewives stereotype, to display their products and the infant son being seeing as energetic is
usually playing with the latest sports toy, and the daughter is playing with the new baking toys or
dolls.

Neuropeptides
Neuropeptides are synthesized in the soma, the cell body of the neuron. These neuropeptides are along
with specific enzymes packed into vesicles in the Golgi apparatus. In these vesicles the neuropeptides
are transported along microtubules in the axon towards the nerve terminal. During the course of this
transportation the neuropeptides, who at this stage is only precursors of the actual neuropeptides, are
modified by the enzymes into their actual neuropeptide form. The vesicles in which the neuropeptides
are stored in once they arrive to the nerve terminal are called large dense core vesicles.
These vesicles will release the neuropeptides as a response to large stimuli, meaning stimuli which
give rise to many action potentials. The site of release is closer to the axon than the synapse and the
neuropeptides then have to diffuse toward the synaptic cleft and the ... Show more content on

The classical transmitters are instead synthesized in the axon terminal while it is only the enzymes
necessary for their synthesis that are produced in the soma and transported along the axon. These
enzymes then act on precursor peptides, which are recycled versions of the neurotransmitter, to
produce the neurotransmitter. The neurotransmitter is then packed and stored in small clear core
vesicles. Upon release the classical neurotransmitter bind to both GPCRs and ligand dependent ion
channels. Therefore only the classical transmitters, and not the neuropeptides, can give rise to
excitatory postsynaptic potential (EPSP) and inhibitory postsynaptic potential (IPSP). As the
neurotransmitter is already in the nerve terminal and is later released directly into the synaptic cleft,
the signalling is faster than that of the neuropeptides. Classical neurotransmitters can also be released
as a response to smaller stimuli, with only a few action potentials, while neuropeptides require
stronger stimuli for

Overt And Covert Facial Recognition Essay
Facial recognition involves the identification of individuals through the use of their facial features and,

able to recognize facial features both consciously and unconsciously (Schweinberger Burton, 2003).
The following set of experiments seeks to study overt and covert facial recognition (Schweinberger
Burton, 2003). Covert facial recognition is the unconscious recognition of familiar faces (Maureen,

Each study discussed above examines the model of facial recognition and its relation to overt and
covert recognition. Covert facial recognition is the unconscious recognition of familiar faces
(Maureen, 2016). Whereas, overt facial recognition is the conscious recognition (Maureen, 2016).
There has been a vast amount of research on the topic in an attempt to discover exactly how the
recognition of facial features/expressions take place in the brain and how it can be linked to certain
neurological disorders. Overall, results from each study examined tend to suggest that overt and covert
facial recognition share the same area of the brain. Research by Farah and colleagues did not support
this idea however, they do not deny it either. Rather, they suggest the possibility of separate forms of
prosopagnosia, one causing damage to both overt and covert facial recognition while the other(s)
cause damage to only one of the functions. This study, however, is also much older than the others
examined which could be a result of lack of information that overtime was learned by others. The
majority of research suggests that damage to overt facial recognition will in time result in damage to
covert facial recognition. Thus meaning if one is damaged it is only a matter of time before the other
starts to suffer. However, with it not being the case one hundred percent of the time it would not be
fair to assume that and ignore opposing research. There are many different ideas and findings on the
subject and hopefully with time researchers will be able to learn whether or not the damage of one

The Mystery Of Capital By Richard Mcgregor
Economics is something that most people don t understand such as; what is so important about it? One
major portion of economics is the fact that if we did not have this one word we most likely not be able
to have a free market as well as prosperous nations all around the world. Yet Hernando DeSoto author
of The Mystery of Capital conveys the idea that the markets in other countries around the world are
different because of the system that each set country has. For example a country with a government
that keeps their peoples and nations in hopeless poverty and nothing can help unless they change the

where investors can t reach them or hear about what work they conduct it won t help, but rather send
them lower into bankrupt. He argues that if the people that are conducting these works don t own

dead capital is something that can t be used as an investment. This is what the poverty countries don t

what the west has and that would be that if you don t have property rights then in reality all you have
is a location that provides abundance but nothing that can be used or sold. The west is a point in every
other nation that is something they admire because they have created something that they do not have.
Another obstacle to get over would be the point that property rights should be enforced and made

Disability has been a neglected area of historical enquiry in Britain, studies have recognised
significance of the past, physical impairment generated historical literature, mental impairment has
none (Borsay, 2005). The last 100 years have been dominant constructions of education ... Show more

Institutional living was a phenomenon between 1660 and 1800 which housed persons to be considered
in poverty, incapacitated and unable to integrate in normal society namely the sick, mad and
handicapped were incarcerated. Development of the industrial society implemented processes towards
aptitude for the industrial system which excluded many disabled people (Roulstone Prideaux, 2008).
By 1834 the act defined the workhouse as a staging post for dangerous lunatics that were progressed
to specialist asylums. The eighteenth century workhouses were institutional settings with the largest
history of housing disabled people. The new poor law which was the amendment act of the Poor Law
Act 1834, excluded inappropriate dependency, as a consequence it removed political rights from
disabled people deeming them unfit for democracy or political citizenship (Borsay, 2005). The civil
rights of disabled people detained in workhouses on grounds of mental impairment were defective,
excluding them from mainstream society with little freedom of movement (Frazer, 2003).
In 1942 Sir William Beveridge presented a report to parliament devoted to social insurance and allied
services, the report was published in December 1942. Beveridge claimed that any sensible government
should grant family allowances, create a health service to all and maintain employment. Many
assumptions made by Beveridge

Freud Vs Frankl And Freud
Running Head: COMPARITIVE PERSONALITY THEORIES OF SIGMUND FREUD AND
VIKTOR FRANKL
Comparative Personality Theories of Sigmund Freud and Viktor Frankl
Luke McGeeney
William James College
For my comparison, I ll be looking at the theories of Sigmund Freud and Viktor Frankl, the creators of
both the first and third Viennese Schools of Psychotherapy, respectively. To begin with, I ll examine
Frankl s theory of existential analysis known as logotherapy. Logotherapy states that we as human
beings are conscious creatures, responsible for our choices and decisions in life. Frankl proposed a
dualistic view of human nature, which claimed that the unconscious is home to both sides of
humanity, with instinctual, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We are meant to become our truest selves by finding meaning in our lives, which, according to Frankl,
can come from three places: work, love, and our attitude in the face of horrific suffering or difficulty.
And at the center of this meaning is our responsibility and human right to choose. In Frankl s theory,
we all strive to fulfill a self chosen goal, from which meaning has the potential to be found. And if no
meaning is found, there is meaning yet to be found, or meaning to be drawn from the apparent lack of
meaning. Whatever the case, Frankl viewed man s lack of meaning as the greatest existential crisis,
the stress of this meaninglessness giving life and shape to all of our neuroses.
This will to meaning is the culmination of our developmental process. To cultivate an individual s
capacity to find meaning in their life is the greatest goal, and the source of mankind s anxiety and
neuroses. We all wish to find the meaning within our life, and are unfulfilled when we miss the mark.
But according to Frankl, there is always meaning in life, in every single moment, from one to the next
we all are capable of making a choice about ourselves, and beyond that, have a responsibility to do so.
Even with the transitory nature of our existence and hopelessness in the face of certain death, there is
still meaning to be found, there is still freedom to be earned.
Unlike Freud s theory that mankind s

History of Educational Technology
History of Educational Technology Educational technology in a way could be traced back to the
emergence of very early tools, e.g., paintings on cave walls. But usually its history starts with
educational film (1900s) or Sidney Pressey s mechanical teaching machines in the 1920s. The first
large scale usage of new technologies can be traced to US WWII training of soldiers through training
films and other mediated materials. Today, presentation based technology, based on the idea that
people can learn through aural and visual reception, exists in many forms, e.g., streaming audio and
video, or PowerPoint presentations with voice over. Another interesting invention of the 1940s was
hypertext, i.e., V. Bush s memex. The 1950s led to two major, ... Show more content on

During the later Stone Age period (Neolithic period),for agricultural practice, polished stone tools
were made from a variety of hard rocks largely by digging underground tunnels, which can be
considered as the first steps in mining technology. The polished axes were so effective that even after
appearance of bronze and iron; people used it for clearing forest and the establishment of crop
farming. Although Stone Age cultures left no written records, but archaeological evidences proved
their shift from nomadic life to agricultural settlement. Ancient tools conserved in different museums,
cave paintings like Altamira Cave in Spain, and other prehistoric art, such as the Venus of Willendorf,
Mother Goddess from Laussel, France etc. are some of the evidences in favour of their cultures.
Neolithic Revolution of Stone Age resulted into the appearance of Bronze Age with development of
agriculture, animal domestication, and the adoption of permanent settlements. For these practices
Bronze Age people further developed metal smelting, with copper and later bronze, an alloy of tin and
copper, being the materials of their choice. The Iron Age people replaced bronze and developed the

The Emergence and Africanization of Catholic Christianity...
The Emergence and Africanization of Catholic Christianity in the Kongo
When the nation of Kongo converted to Christianity around the turn of the 16th century, the
Catholicism that developed over the next century is best understood as primarily a superficial layer
added onto Kongolese traditional religion. The kings of Kongo did not try to replace previous beliefs
and practices with Christianity, nor did they simply mask their traditional religion, but rather they
incorporated Christian doctrines, rituals, and some aspects of Portuguese Christian culture such as
literacy and medicine, into the framework of the traditional Kongolese lifestyle. Three ways by which
we can evaluate the Catholicism that developed in the kingdom of ... Show more content on

Afonso s faith cannot be reprimanded based on his complaining about Portuguese abuses in the slave
trade, or rejecting the Portuguese suggestion to amend the traditional system of taxation and
distribution of government grants, or asking Rome to allow dispensations for polygamy, the ordination
of natives, and the creation of a separate Diocese. The conclusion we may draw from these acts is not
that Afonso was a bad Christian, but that he intended for the introduction of Christianity to strengthen
his sovereignty rather than weaken it. In this way, he is like European monarchs, but the Christianity
he adopts and promotes in his nations is not European Christianity. It seems more likely that, as
Baladier has argued, Christianity was adopted fundamentally as a source of ngolo, or power, which
placed it in a political context ...Christianity was conceived as a supplementary method of
reinforcement, not as a religion exclusive of the old beliefs.
That Afonso s Christian faith was inclusive of tradition religion, and that it was subordinate to, and
often used to further, his political ambitions, does not necessitate that it was insincere. Nor does the
sincerity of Afonso s faith determine the extent to which

Martha Graham, also known as the Mother of Modern Dance, has produced several renowned pieces with this. I believe that her piece, Panorama, is a great example of a piece that uses history that is timeless. The dance was choreographed in 1935 for students at Bennington College in Vermont during their summer dance workshops. These workshops contained unique American modern dancers and choreographers that shared their ideas and technique. The piece is separated into three sections named, Theme of Dedication, Imperial Theme, and Popular Theme . It premiered on August 14th, 1935. The set was designed by Arch Lauterer and Mobiles were created by Alexander Calder. Panorama was performed by 35 women all wearing red skirts and matching tops. The courts have the power of testing the validity of legislative as well as other governmental action with reference to the provisions of the constitution. Judicial Review in India The constitution of India, in this respect, is more similar to the U.S. Constitution than the British. Under the constitution of India parliament is not supreme. Its powers are limited in the two ways. First, there is the division of powers between the union and the states. Parliament is allowed to pass laws only with respect to those subjects which are guaranteed to the citizens against every form of legislative encroachment. The power of judicial review of legislation is given to the judiciary both by the political theory and text of the constitution. There are several specific provisions in the Indian constitution, judicial review of legislation such as Act 13, 32, 131 136, 143, 226, 145, 246, 251, 254 and 372. Judicial review is a great weapon given to the judges. It includes the power of a court to hold illegal and unenforceable any law or order based upon such law or some other activity by an open power which is conflicting or in clash with the fundamental law that must be adhered to. Truth be told, the investigation of constitutional law may be depicted as an investigation of the precept of judicial review in action. The official tale tells of Catholic conspirators planning to kill King James I and a majority of Parliament in a statement against Protestantism. Though Robert Cecil caught Guy Fawkes in the cellar of the Parliament Building and many associated with the plot possessed good reason to attempt a mass killing against a predominantly Protestant government, large amounts of evidence suggest that Protestants likely framed the Catholics for an attempt on King James and a majority of Parliament s lives. The Collapse Of North Korean State Essay Assess the possibility of the collapse of the North Korean state in the next 5 7 years by examining the influence and impact of relevant geopolitical factors/conditions. As one of the most antagonizing countries, North Korea seems to find the wrath of the United Nations more frequently than any other sovereign nation. The country s human rights abuses and violations of international law have led the international community to impose heavy trade sanctions with North Korea (cite). While the country attempts to be largely self sufficient, malnutrition is a growing problem for the people of North Korea (worldhunger). Based on its geographic location and violation of international law in regards to nuclear capabilities and human rights abuses, North Korea is in a perilous situation in the next seven years. Its increasing globalization and fervent nationalism suggest, however, that while the country may evolve and become more globalized, it will survive as the contentious nation state it is today. The physical geography of North Korea does little to stabilize the 5 to 7 year outlook for the country. A computer lab is an efficient way to deliver access to computers and the Internet to students. A thin client lab will allow Dvorak to extend its financial resources by saving on new computer resources and extending the life of existing assets. In addition, computer lab fat clients require substantial maintenance to keep the systems in working order. While CPS s computer support systems help with this task through programs like Deep Freeze, routine hardware maintenance as well as software installs and updates not covered by CPS can be a significant drain on technology coordinator resources. A thin client architecture can reduce the workload of the technology coordinators by centralizing management and reducing the kinds of workstation maintenance that needs to be done. Finally, thin client networks are very scaleable. If, in the future, web based applications or productivity applications require more processing power than is currently available in the lab, additional servers can be added to the system to handle the added load instead of upgrading all of the workstations. As classroom desktop computers are upgraded, the older classroom machines can be used as additional workstations in the lab, or replace failing lab systems, or deployed in a new lab. Explain the basic logic of probability theory Probability can be a complex field of mathematics, but in its simplest definition it is the likelhood of an event being true divided by the total number of possibilities. For example, flipping a coin has two possibilities: heads or tails. There is only one way for a coin to land on heads, so the answer to this probability question is 1:2. 1. In a poll, respondents were asked whether they had ever been in a car accident. 177 respondents indicated that they had been in a car accident and 107 respondents said that they had not been in a car accident. If one of these respondents is randomly selected, what is the probability of getting someone who has been in a car accident? 177 = Probability of choosing someone who was in a car accident because fraction cannot be reduced any more 107 than it is. It can be very uncomfortable to do something that would never usually be a part of your normal everyday life, especially when it involves your religion and beliefs. On the flipside of all the lack of comfort, doing something you usually would not do has many great benefits, such as learning new ideas and facts, meeting new people, and overall broadening your knowledge of the world. As a non denominational Christian, I decided to challenge myself by attending a religious event that I would never typically attend. On Sunday, March 30th, I attended a Mass service at a Roman Catholic Church; specifically St. Gabriel Parish in Norwood, Pennsylvania with a Catholic friend of mine that I was visiting for the weekend. This was the first time I ever attended an actual Sunday morning service that was Catholic, and I found it to be quite the interesting experience, even though it was not as unusual for me as I had originally presumed it would be. I grew up in Norwood right near St. Gabriel, and passed it every day to go to my good friend s home that was a football field length away from the churches front doors, but I have never attended a Mass there, or at any other Catholic church for that matter. The Silent Film Within Our Gates In 1920, Oscar Micheaux directed the silent film Within Our Gates which conducts an in depth examination of race relations and discrimination within the United States. One of the outcomes of the film is a blatant failure of justice resulting in the lynching of an African American couple, The Landrys. Seemingly, time has not altered the inherent absence of justice concerning the treatment of Black men and women in situations where criminal activity is suspected, legitimately or otherwise. Evidence is found with the killings of Eric Garner, Michael Brown, Tamir Rice, and many other Black victims who died at the hands of police who are tasked with upholding justice and fail to do so. However, what was the popular sentiment toward failure within the legal system between 1920 and 2015? While not representative of this entire time span, in 1962, Robert Mulligan s film To Kill a Mockingbird focuses on race relations and an African American male wrongly accused of rape who is ultimately killed in a suspicious police shooting. Within Our Gates and To Kill a Mockingbird each offer a presentation of a gross miscarriage of justice that is obvious to the omniscient viewer, but the reaction the films garner from the audience varies from outrage to resignation due to the implementation (or lack thereof) of a visual stimuli, telling of the time period in which the films were produced. They, as well as others (such as James Joyce), were trying something new, by breaking down the boundaries of traditional writing. Ford s Good Soldier and Woolf s Mrs. Dalloway are two particular examples of the genre. These novels were not well received in their own time. As time went on, however, the attitudes of the literary world changed and were able to finally see these works for what they really are exemplary pieces of fiction, certainly worth merit. Edward Ashburnham is guilty of the very same things, yet he is still regarded as good people. He also wonders at the meaning of the narrator s nearly phobic concern with Catholicism, or of the way in which his slurs at Leonora are justified by her attachment to that persuasion (46). If the implication is that John Dowell is crazy, Schorer is failing to see other psychological reasons why a man such as Dowell would think this way. It is evident that our narrator has not fully processed all of the events before he begins to tell of them. In addition, Dowell obviously wants to continue thinking highly of Ashburnham the good soldier, and this completes John s psychological quandary. At the very least, Schorer recognizes the merit of The Good Soldier, and his essay appears to understand the deliberate complexities of the novel. Charles Hoffman likens The Good Soldier to an allegory, the breakup of civilization itself, heading toward disaster (53). In these vesicles the neuropeptides are transported along microtubules in the axon towards the nerve terminal. During the course of this transportation the neuropeptides, who at this stage is only precursors of the actual neuropeptides, are modified by the enzymes into their actual neuropeptide form. The vesicles in which the neuropeptides are stored in once they arrive to the nerve terminal are called large dense core vesicles. These vesicles will release the neuropeptides as a response to large stimuli, meaning stimuli which give rise to many action potentials. The classical transmitters are instead synthesized in the axon terminal while it is only the enzymes necessary for their synthesis that are produced in the soma and transported along the axon. Therefore only the classical transmitters, and not the neuropeptides, can give rise to excitatory postsynaptic potential (EPSP) and inhibitory postsynaptic potential (IPSP). As the neurotransmitter is already in the nerve terminal and is later released directly into the synaptic cleft, the signalling is faster than that of the neuropeptides. Each study discussed above examines the model of facial recognition and its relation to overt and covert recognition. Covert facial recognition is the unconscious recognition of familiar faces (Maureen, 2016). Whereas, overt facial recognition is the conscious recognition (Maureen, 2016). There has been a vast amount of research on the topic in an attempt to discover exactly how the recognition of facial features/expressions take place in the brain and how it can be linked to certain neurological disorders. Overall, results from each study examined tend to suggest that overt and covert facial recognition share the same area of the brain. Research by Farah and colleagues did not support this idea however, they do not deny it either. Rather, they suggest the possibility of separate forms of prosopagnosia, one causing damage to both overt and covert facial recognition while the other(s) cause damage to only one of the functions. This study, however, is also much older than the others examined which could be a result of lack of information that overtime was learned by others. The majority of research suggests that damage to overt facial recognition will in time result in damage to covert facial recognition. Thus meaning if one is damaged it is only a matter of time before the other starts to suffer. However, with it not being the case one hundred percent of the time it would not be fair to assume that and ignore opposing research. Freud Vs Frankl And Freud Running Head: COMPARITIVE PERSONALITY THEORIES OF SIGMUND FREUD AND VIKTOR FRANKL Comparative Personality Theories of Sigmund Freud and Viktor Frankl Luke McGeeney William James College For my comparison, I ll be looking at the theories of Sigmund Freud and Viktor Frankl, the creators of both the first and third Viennese Schools of Psychotherapy, respectively. To begin with, I ll examine Frankl s theory of existential analysis known as logotherapy. Logotherapy states that we as human beings are conscious creatures, responsible for our choices and decisions in life. Frankl proposed a dualistic view of human nature, which claimed that the unconscious is home to both sides of humanity, with instinctual, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We are meant to become our truest selves by finding meaning in our lives, which, according to Frankl, can come from three places: work, love, and our attitude in the face of horrific suffering or difficulty. And at the center of this meaning is our responsibility and human right to choose. In Frankl s theory, we all strive to fulfill a self chosen goal, from which meaning has the potential to be found. And if no meaning is found, there is meaning yet to be found, or meaning to be drawn from the apparent lack of meaning. Whatever the case, Frankl viewed man s lack of meaning as the greatest existential crisis, the stress of this meaninglessness giving life and shape to all of our neuroses. This will to meaning is the culmination of our developmental process. To cultivate an individual s capacity to find meaning in their life is the greatest goal, and the source of mankind s anxiety and neuroses. We all wish to find the meaning within our life, and are unfulfilled when we miss the mark. But according to Frankl, there is always meaning in life, in every single moment, from one to the next we all are capable of making a choice about ourselves, and beyond that, have a responsibility to do so. Even with the transitory nature of our existence and hopelessness in the face of certain death, there is still meaning to be found, there is still freedom to be earned. Unlike Freud s theory that mankind s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 43. History of Educational Technology History of Educational Technology Educational technology in a way could be traced back to the emergence of very early tools, e.g., paintings on cave walls. But usually its history starts with educational film (1900s) or Sidney Pressey s mechanical teaching machines in the 1920s. The first large scale usage of new technologies can be traced to US WWII training of soldiers through training films and other mediated materials. Today, presentation based technology, based on the idea that people can learn through aural and visual reception, exists in many forms, e.g., streaming audio and video, or PowerPoint presentations with voice over. Another interesting invention of the 1940s was hypertext, i.e., V. Bush s memex. The 1950s led to two major, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... During the later Stone Age period (Neolithic period),for agricultural practice, polished stone tools were made from a variety of hard rocks largely by digging underground tunnels, which can be considered as the first steps in mining technology. The polished axes were so effective that even after appearance of bronze and iron; people used it for clearing forest and the establishment of crop farming. Although Stone Age cultures left no written records, but archaeological evidences proved their shift from nomadic life to agricultural settlement. Ancient tools conserved in different museums, cave paintings like Altamira Cave in Spain, and other prehistoric art, such as the Venus of Willendorf, Mother Goddess from Laussel, France etc. are some of the evidences in favour of their cultures. Neolithic Revolution of Stone Age resulted into the appearance of Bronze Age with development of agriculture, animal domestication, and the adoption of permanent settlements. • 44. The Emergence and Africanization of Catholic Christianity... The Emergence and Africanization of Catholic Christianity in the Kongo When the nation of Kongo converted to Christianity around the turn of the 16th century, the Catholicism that developed over the next century is best understood as primarily a superficial layer added onto Kongolese traditional religion. The kings of Kongo did not try to replace previous beliefs and practices with Christianity, nor did they simply mask their traditional religion, but rather they incorporated Christian doctrines, rituals, and some aspects of Portuguese Christian culture such as literacy and medicine, into the framework of the traditional Kongolese lifestyle. Three ways by which we can evaluate the Catholicism that developed in the kingdom of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Afonso s faith cannot be reprimanded based on his complaining about Portuguese abuses in the slave trade, or rejecting the Portuguese suggestion to amend the traditional system of taxation and distribution of government grants, or asking Rome to allow dispensations for polygamy, the ordination of natives, and the creation of a separate Diocese. The conclusion we may draw from these acts is not that Afonso was a bad Christian, but that he intended for the introduction of Christianity to strengthen his sovereignty rather than weaken it. In this way, he is like European monarchs, but the Christianity he adopts and promotes in his nations is not European Christianity. It seems more likely that, as Baladier has argued, Christianity was adopted fundamentally as a source of ngolo, or power, which placed it in a political context ...Christianity was conceived as a supplementary method of reinforcement, not as a religion exclusive of the old beliefs. That Afonso s Christian faith was inclusive of tradition religion, and that it was subordinate to, and often used to further, his political ambitions, does not necessitate that it was insincere. Nor does the sincerity of Afonso s faith determine the extent to which ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
