What is an Enterprise Information Model? Bram Wessel
An enterprise information model is a set of taxonomies, metadata, content types, and relationships that define how information is organized across multiple business units, systems, channels, and workflows within an organization. While an information model already implicitly exists in any enterprise, intentionally developing one provides benefits like organizational alignment and treating information as a key corporate asset, whereas ignoring it risks inconsistencies. Successfully managing an enterprise information model requires long-term commitment, governance, and understanding each organization's unique business context.

Outlining a CCAR strategy beyond model developmentfawadb
While scenario modeling is an important part of CCAR, sourcing quality data represents the other half of the challenge. Sourcing high quality data requires numerous stakeholders to work together across the organization, which is often more difficult than developing models. Effective data governance practices, including identifying critical data elements, defining data policies, and adopting data standards, are necessary to source high quality data and ensure accurate scenario modeling for CCAR. Implementing robust data governance requires significant organizational collaboration and is more complex than model development alone.

The document outlines the steps taken by Ravi Kumar Lanke to install various Endeca components, including Endeca Server, Studio, Provisioning Service, Integrator, Commerce, Platform Services, MDEX, Presentation API, Content Acquisition System, and the creation of a data domain in the Endeca Server.
Provisioning users is an important part of granting workers access to all documents, applications, and data they require to do their job. Poor provisioning can lead to problems with employee onboarding and offboarding. This can cause strained relationships and unneeded stress within the organization. Employees can become frustrated if they don't have the information they need. Poor offboarding or too many access rights can lead to frustration in governance, security, and compliance.
What is more important? You run the risk of inconsistent, insecure and sloppy user provisioning that could compromise your business' data and systems.
What's User Provisioning?
Provisioning is an easy concept. Provisioning is the act of creating, updating and deleting accounts and users to manage your IT infrastructure.
This can make it difficult for a growing company to keep up. Depending on how large your workforce is, you may see new employees arrive and leave. People from different departments may need access to different data and applications.
Why use manual user provisioning?
Automated provisioning is widely recognized as the gold standard. It's the most efficient, convenient, and secure way for IT departments approach user provisioning. Some companies may feel the need to do provisioning manually. This decision may become more difficult as a company grows.
For a variety of reasons, an IT department may resort to manual user provisioning. If the company is small and has low provisioning volumes, this may be a viable option. It was simple to track and manage. Perhaps the infrastructure-software and hardware-for automated provisioning was once unavailable, or when it became available, other demands on IT staff meant automating provisioning was not prioritized. Maybe IT management didn't have the time or budget to order the parts they needed. Or, perhaps they were unable to deploy the parts. Not least, it is possible that legacy applications and resources are not capable of supporting automated, API-driven user provisioning.
What are some of the potential risks associated with manual user provisioning?
When given manual tasks, humans are bound to make mistakes. People can forget things, make mistakes, communicate poorly, become overwhelmed by multiple priorities or projects and have trouble adapting to changes.
When your company was founded, there were only a few employees. It is difficult to spend enough time getting to know each worker with today's larger workforce. The roles change as more people are hired. More people are leaving and changing jobs, which means that there is more to provision, as well as accounts that need to be deprovisioned.
There are many reasons why provisioning demand may spike. You can roll out new apps, replace old ones with modern ones, merge or buy another company or sell a part of your business. During difficult times, you may have to fire employees.
Making advanced analytics work for youAyushi Verma
Big data, if not used properly, can result in losses for a company rather than increased profits. Early attempts to use customer data from CRM software in the 1990s failed because companies did not understand how to implement the complex changes needed to manage large datasets. For big data to be successful, companies must identify diverse data sources, build advanced analytics models, and properly manage data extraction and analysis to achieve desired business outcomes. Asking what decisions could be made with better information can help companies realize what data they already have access to.

Drive Your Business with Democratized Data
Data democratization is the concept of creating a self-serve data layer where business users can access and manipulate data efficiently and effectively. This makes data handling more agile and flexible based on company needs rather than being forced to compromise user experience and data integrity to meet rigid compliance mandates. Democratizing data is essential for businesses as it transforms operations by providing employees with information to take action and make decisions. The key is to involve people across the organization, ensure data is accessible, adopt the right technology and governance practices, and set success metrics to maximize the value of shared data.

2 Big Reasons Identity and Access Management Projects Fail
1. 1. Failure in Upfront Planning before buying the Software
Organizations have a very difficult time with the very basic task of figuring
out precise job roles and then being able to associate those roles with
appropriate levels of access to resources.
It's can be a challenge to convince executives that it's necessary to invest
properly in identity, not so much in the tools as in the effort it will take to
gain a full understanding of how workers operate and then build the IT
processes to reflect that reality.
Management needs to fund the upfront work required to study employee
and contractor roles and to map that to the appropriate applications.
Often when projects fail, organizations get a few months into these
implementations, and 90 percent of the team's efforts focus on educating
the business leaders, managers and data owners that it's the data owners,
not the group managers that approve access.
You not only need to have executive sponsorship, because your effort is
futile without it, but also eager buy-in across multiple business units. If you
don't have all of that support in place, you are going to have a large
number of potentially insurmountable challenges. The cascade of
problems generated reduces productivity and adds to cost.
Costs can include everything from workers not getting access to the
applications they need; to end users deciding to share credentials so they
can get work done; to increased difficulty responding to valid audit
requests.
2. 2. Failure to Optimize Active Directory for Unstructured Data
Protection
When did Active Directory optimization ever get included as a business
priority? AD is the natural choice for Identity & Access management to
work with since it’s the authentication and authorization source for at
least 80% of organizational data.
If a company has been through mergers and acquisitions,
reorganization, and has layers of IT infrastructure; then they are likely
to have a big cross-wired mess at the heart of Active Directory.
Now, combine the lack of optimization with the push to include
unstructured data in IAM projects. This becomes a recipe for failure.
The fact that unstructured data is so clearly and directly connected to
the inner structure of AD exposes the lack of optimization.
There is no clear way that access is granted to unstructured data
resources. Many groups grant similar types of rights to the same
resources. And since many of those groups have been formed by
redundant and overlapping needs, many of the same sets of users exist
as members of those groups.
Let’s say someone runs a review and wants to take away some right to
access a file share. How should that be done? If you take the user out of
the group granting the access, it’s likely you’ve effectively removed the
access of all the members of that group.
Unlike applications that may have used AD as an authentication source
or perhaps used a few groups they created specially to control
authorization, unstructured data links directly to AD groups for access
and relies completely on AD credentials for identity. That means every
3. deeply or circularly nested group, every redundant group, every person
with multiple accounts or overlapping group membership, are all things
that become immediate issues for controlling the identification of
access and controlling that access.
Provisioning, self-service, and other key IAM pieces will work with an
un-optimized AD, however, managing unstructured data access with
un-optimized AD may lead to failure or the very least increased cost
and complexity.
