Instructional Programs For Technology Education
To develop meaningful instructional programs for technology education, goals need to be in place to
direct the outcomes of curriculum development and teaching. They go beyond everyday teaching
objectives; they are directed at long–term learning and programmatic outcomes.
Performance standards measure how much of the content the student is proficient. Opportunity–to–
learn standards ensure the learning is student focused, everyone has a right to education and that
education should be learner centered. For an educational technology standard to be most effective it
needs to recognize these three standards. International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE)
has accomplished this with its National Educational Technology Standards (NETS). The standards
provided by NETS provide a comprehensive set of goals to encourage a technology integrated
education.
Introducing educational technology into the developing world is multidimensional and requires
many basic issues to be recognized and addressed. It is becoming recognized that telecentres and the
use of ICT in developing countries to assist in meeting the Millennium Development Goals is
becoming increasingly viable.

Rossett's Model Essay
Rossett's Model
Overview
Organizations are constantly faced with finding solutions to their problems. Often times they
demand training to act as a quick fix to their problems; thus, trainers need to make needs assessment
an essential part of their instructional design process. Otherwise, according to Zemke (1998),
trainers "could very well end up doing a marvelous job of solving the wrong problems". Therefore,
the trainer's challenge is to find the problem and to understand it sufficiently so that it can be solved
(Rossett, 1987).
"Analysis or needs assessment is the basis for wise recommendation about instruction and
supporting organizational strategies" (Rossett 1992). The terms used may vary. Some may refer it to

Solutions should be considered based on the identified causes for performance problems.
Five Steps of the Needs Assessment Process
Rossett (1987, 1995) outlines the needs assessment process in five steps:
Step 1 – Determine purposes based on initiators; Step 2 – Identify sources; Step 3 – Select tools;
Step 4– Conduct the needs assessment in stages; and Step 5 – Use findings for decision making.
In step one, Rossett (1987, 1985) suggests that there are three typical situations that initiate the
needs assessment process:
– Performance Problems: these are the most familiar circumstances that involve training
professionals and launch Needs assessment. Employers want employees to perform at their optimal
level.
– New Systems and Technologies: the need to teach employees to use the new

The Impact Of Media And Instructional Technology On...
Position paper on the impact of Media and Instructional Technology on Student Learning There
have been many debates, among researchers, in the past on technology and the impact that it has on
learning. However, there is one debate that, after over nearly two decades, is still being discussed to
this day. The debate of Clark–Kozma has been of great significance to researchers in the past and
present. As new and improved technology is introduced, many researchers have focused their study
on this debate to prove or disprove the findings of Richard Clark and Robert Kozma. Clark and
Kozma Over thirty years ago, Richard Clark researched the impact of technology on learning. "In
1983, Richard E. Clark published the results of a meta–analysis that examined the influence of
media on learning where he concluded that media do not influence learning under any
circumstance" (Becker, 2010, para. 3). Clark believes that media does not influence learning to any
degree. He has stood firm in his research findings over the past years. Just a few years later, Robert
Kozma decided to oppose Clark's debate and complete his own research to decide if technology had
an impact on learning. Kozma was looking to find out why technology had failed to impact learning.
"In order to establish a relationship between media and learning we must first understand why we
have failed to establish one so far" (Kozma, 1994, p. 2). Kozma believes that media does influence
learning. The Debate

A Crisis: Funding for Educational Technology in the United States
The United States is a country that thrives through technological advancement. The wealth and
success of this nation is dependent on providing every child, regardless of race, ethnicity, or gender,
with the opportunity to obtain technological skills that are essential for a successful future.
Unfortunately, educational funding for technology has failed to take precedent. In realizing that, the
question then becomes, how is a country expected to thrive from the use and advancement of
technology, when failing to properly train future leaders? Funding must be provided for schools to
purchase technological equipment, such as computers, in order to ensure that each ... Show more

In reality, this program was at risk fordoing quite theopposite, by drastically cutting the entire
education budget. Furthermore,if the plan is based on performance, it is the underprivileged schools
thatoften have the lowest test scores. If these schools do somehow obtain fundingfrom the
government they most likely will spend the funding intended fortechnology on other more pressing
demands or needs, such as textbooks ornew facilities. The government cannot expect any school to
deprivestudents of necessities, such as functioning bathrooms, in order to obtainluxuries, such as a
computer in each classroom (Guerard, 2). The majorityof schools, especially those in rural or poor
communities, rely heavily onyearly funding from their state government as well as the national
government. Schools are the institutes of learning and knowledge for the majority ofchildren in this
country, and therefore funding should be a priority in governmentplanning and budgeting. It should
take precedence, and be seen as anissue of great importance. Unfortunately, this is often not the
case. Budgeting for technology in education can be delayed when a majorcrisis occurs in this
country, such as the terrorist attacks on the WorldTrade Center and the Pentagon. Melinda Maddox,

Mass Media Approach For An Multi Media
MASS–MEDIAAPPROACH It is evident from the term multi–media that more than two media of
communication are involved in a learning package or instructional Procedure.
A teaching content of a subject varies in nature therefore; it can be best presented by employing
various media of communication. Moreover it facilitates the individual variation of the learner. Now
multimedia package of learning are developed.
This multi–media approach has been tried in our country, in NCERT and at the Center of
Educational Technology (CET) as the mass media for in service teacher–educators. This experiment
has involved the multi–media package which has the following components: Television programme

Projects can be affected by a wide range of issues that may cause it to fail from not meeting project
scope, timeframe, budgetary constraints to lack of management support or bad customer service.
Failures of a project can affect morale, employment, and waste time and money. For a project to be
started without adequate organization may end as a failure. A Los Angeles school district program
launched in 2013 called Instructional Technology Initiative was determined a failure in April 2015

Integrating Instructional Technology And Technology
Integrating Instructional Technology Technology is important in our education today. Technology
can be a vital tool in enhancing and improving the instruction for our students. Our technology
today allows our students to search resources, use social media sites, and locate almost anything that
they may be researching for a specific subject. Teachers need to know how to incorporate these tools
into their curriculum in a way that facilitates and enhances student learning. Three technology tools
that can be used inside the classroom effectively are classroom website, interactive white boards,
and TED Ed. Classroom Website A classroom website can be a valuable tool within a classroom.
Having a classroom website provides students with literacy, history, science, and math skill practice.
It also increases their opportunities to read, write and exchange ideas with others, and extended
learning experiences across the curriculum. Classroom website is engaging and allows more
interaction among teachers, parents, and students. A classroom website acts as a portal for learning
and enhancing skills (Holcomb, L.B., Castek, J.M., & Johnson, P.R.; 2007). I will use a classroom
website in my classroom and curriculum to provide educational website links, assignments, lessons,
announcements, a discussion board, and a link for grades. Parents and students will be able to go on
and get needed information to help them with questions and concerns regarding academics.

How Instructional Technology Has Evolved Into What Is...
To begin to understand how instructional technology has evolved into what is defined as 21st
technology today. The first question to be answered is: What is technology? According M.D.
Roblyer, author of Integrating Educational Technology into Teaching, "technology can be anything
from a pencil to a viral environment" (2016. P. 6) If we use this definition, we can go back to
prehistoric time when man used chiseled stone to carve their thoughts onto a wall inside of a cave
over 200,000 years ago. Fast forward to approximately 400BC, Plato. How does a philosopher fit it
into technology? He is known for his "famous work, the Republic, which is regarded as his own
philosophy, where the main character in effect speaks for Plato himself. ... Show more content on

P. 270). By the 1970's, instructional and system models, like the ADDIE, were created. When 1990
emerged, the internet opened a real world to education and the ability to share. IT created new ways
of communication that are still being developed today in technology through both instructional and
educational technology. In education the terms instructions and technology and educational
technology are intertwined and often taken for the other. Both have been defined by M.D. Roblyer.
He refers to instructions technology as it "deals directly with teaching and learning application"
(2015. P. 424). Educational technology was defined as "a combination of the process and tools
involved in addressing educational needs and problems, with an emphasis on applying the most
current digital and informational tools" (Roblyer, 2016. P. 423). In simpler terms, one is the
application of knowledge and the other is the process of applying that information through
technological tools. Instruction technology is different when it is used in various settings. From
primary grade through college level and even in businesses, they all begin with the teaching and
learning process. From the early start of education in the 21st Century, that "societal changes and
technological breakthroughs, it's become abundantly clear that the human brain

Technology of the past 20 years has become a focal point of teaching and learning. As a teacher, it is
my job to facilitate the learning for an individual by creating an environment that not only
conducive for learning, but also places the child in a position to discover and learn them for
themselves. Technology has given teachers to opportunity to take learning beyond the classroom,
and has begun to reshape their role in the learning process. In the past, teachers were looked upon as

There are a litany of interactive products that can be implemented, but I lean more towards the use
of Smart Boards and Mimio Interactive Products. Mimio and Smartboards give all your students the
opportunity to become actively engaged in the lesson being taught. In addition to the engagement, it
also eliminates any anxieties that a child may have in terms of standing in front of the class, because
it allows them to interact or participate within the comforts of their own desk. Plus it's fun, and who
doesn't like having fun, even if it's in school. Pros and Cons According to Huff Post Education, part
of the Huffington Post internet newspaper that caters to the world of education, companies such
Google, Verizon and Microsoft are pouring in million upon millions of dollars to provide schools
with the latest in new gadgets and devices. The schools are in return, are looking for technology to
revive student performances in the classroom (Contributing writer to the Huffington Post, 2010). As
I mentioned earlier, my goal is to produce lifelong learners. I want my students to be just a
captivated in my class as they are to latest music video by their favorite artist. Engagement is the
true issue here, and begs the question, "Does technology foster engagement or inhibit it?, (Ain,
2011). I for one, believe that technology can do what is it purposed to do, and that is to foster
engagement and enable critical and creative thinking (Ain,

Integration Of Instructional Technology Into Public Education
Earle, R. (2002). The Integration of Instructional Technology into Public Education:
Promises and Challenges. 42(1), 5–13.
This journal article, which comes from the professor of education out of Brigham University, Utah,
examines technology as a tool for students but not as a form of reliance for teachers. This article
also takes a look at the economic perspective of incorporating digital technology more frequently
into the classroom. As well, this article takes a very sociological perspective and examines the way
in which this upcoming digitalization of the classroom, which will provide a strong relationship to
many of the course materials which will also will be included within this paper. This article also
provides a new argument/ point of view that examines the technology as only a minor part of the
classroom, as the teacher is still the main source of knowledge which differs from a few of the other
articles. Due to these differences in perspective, it will provide an interesting contrast and argument
that could help guide the paper in a few different ways. As well, this paper provides an American
perspective, which could or could not be relevant, but the context could provide an explanation for
some of the biases within the article. Overall, this article will be an interesting addition as it has
many different and unique perspectives and opinions on digital sociology and education.

Advantages Of Instructional Technology
The use of instructional technologies has several advantages for both the teacher and the students.
Instructional technologies motivate students, capture their attention, and help explain complex
concepts.
B. BARRIERS OF USING INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNOLOGIES INTO E–LEARNING IN THE
CLASSROOM
When we talking about the barriers of using instructional technology can recognize a number of
factors as barriers to the adoption of instructional technology. The fear of failure in using the
technology is a factor that has been cited as an initial barrier (Hannafin & Savenye, 1993). [10]
Lacking resources, lack of equipment, insufficient facilities, lack of knowledge, lack of preparation
time to integrate instructional technology to teaching methods and students to use computers or the
Internet for some instructional activities are main barriers of using instructional technology into e–
learning in classroom.

INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGN
Instructional design is a systematic process of analysis of learning needs and development of
instruction. It is also known as (ISD) instructional system design, systematic approach. Instructional
design is art, science, reality, system, and technology. As an example it is a science because it is
based on learning theories like behaviorism, cognitivism and constructivism and it is an art because
of the creativity of design process. [6]
Instructional design is a technology which used to create learning experiences and environments and
can promote the instructional activities through using it. [6]
The teaching and learning process is to be helped, the purpose of instructional design. The objective
of the Instructional design is to support the teaching and learning process by guaranteeing that
education experiences are improved for specific learning goals.
There are many Instructional design models, techniques and learning theories. Some of they are,
 The ADDIE Model
 Dick and Carey Systems Approach Model

The Path Of An Instructional Designer Because
When I joined the United State Air Force in 2004, I quickly learned how easy it is to pass the blame.
I noticed early in my military career, that broken processes were often ignored. Meanwhile, the
person at the tactical level of the process was blamed for the result. After all the punishments are
dealt out, new employees are assigned to the project, and all the smoke clears, the same problems
seem to persist. When I suspect a process is inefficient, I feel a strong urge to find out why these
issues exist and then find solutions. This is often a pursuit that puts me at odds with some
supervisors, but cherished by some subordinates. It's not hard for me to recognize that most
employees want to excel at their jobs. Unfortunately, their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Teaching students to work on the B–52 aircraft in Minot, North Dakota during the dead of winter
bears some unique challenges. It takes a strong leadership ability to motivate students to perform
hands–on task while enduring 30 degree below zero temperatures. In the Air Force's Non–
Commissioned Officer Academy (NCOA) I was awarded the Distinguished Graduate for displaying
that level of leadership.
I feel that underneath all the positional authorities of leadership, the true test is the ability to
empower people. This is the reason why I want to not only learn how to use technology in an
education setting; I also want to improve the lives of students with leadership. I believe that the
educational technology leadership program at George Washington University is the only program
that perfectly meshes the two together. In my opinion, human performance is the key to learning.
However, it seems as though education sometimes focuses on the information that needs to be
taught instead of the outcomes. Dr. Watkins' publication highlighted this theory in previous work by
Robert Mager. Watkins (2010) stated "instructional designers should move beyond determining
what instructors should teach; rather, they should focus on understanding what learners should be
able to do as a result of the instruction." Technology can serve as an excellent starting point for
student centered learning.
Technology and leadership are the two elements that draw me to this program. There are

Teacher Resistance Can Cause Barriers When Implementing...
History of Resistance
Technology is not a modern, 21st century word. Technology has been in our society, and our
classrooms for that matter, for quite some time. According to Seattler (1990) integration of
televisions into the classroom started in the 1950's and has evolved to bigger and better things since
then.
When first introduced, televisions were given put in classrooms with the expectation that when
turned on, teaching practices would be transformed and problems in instruction and student
performance would be solved. This movement was met by resistance, as described by Cuban
(1986); teachers were not willing to integrate this technology into their teaching practices. Not only
were teachers untrained on how to use this new ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One must try an idea out, fail or succeed, then evaluate the effectiveness by analyzing the results.
After this process, a decision about future activities can be made, and then taken through the same
process.
Once examined further, it is not merely a time issue, but also an educator comfort issue. If given a
task of implementing technology with little or no training, then expected to transform student
thinking in new and exciting ways, one cannot blame a teacher for feeling overwhelmed and
perhaps resistant to doing so. The current system must be examined and addressed as technology is
being poured into education at a fast rate, and districts must find a way to support teachers in this
overwhelming endeavor of not only learning the technology, but learning to teach with it.
Solution Number One
Teachers must be trained in a new type of pedagogy, one that involves the use of technology. As
stated by Cuban (2001) teachers end up using technology as means to mealy keep up with what they
required to do, such as check daily messages from administration and keep grades, communicate
with the staff, create letters to go home, and to create materials for their lessons such as handouts.
Although this is a form of using technology, it is far from the desired use of using the given
classroom technology for innovations in their teaching style.

Assistive Technology Lesson Pl Effective Instructional...
Assistive Technology Lesson Plan Effective instructional approaches are designed to look at how a
student learns and how a teacher delivers the information to the student. When a teacher identifies
the learning style of their students, they can effectively plan the instruction. The learning style
approach to teaching requires the teacher to build lessons to include students different learning
styles. A student with special needs will thrive in this teaching environment; they will be taught at
their level of strength. Also, the special needs student will need additional accommodations and
modifications in order for them to access the curriculum. Anderson (2007) states that "differentiated
thinking empowers teachers to be responsive rather than reactive to the unique individual
personalities, backgrounds, and abilities found within the students" (para. 3). In other words, an
effective teacher is one who thinks about the student as an individual, with unique strengths and
weakness, and uses this information in the design and plan of their instruction. They are effective
because the build their lesson on the specifics of their students and not a one size fits all lesson plan.
Individual Differences There are many components to a lesson plan. Included in the plan is the
primary learning styles. Learning styles are a snap shot of how each student learns best. The lesson
plan in the appendix identifies learning styles for several students. The lesson is for an algebra 1

Benefits of Using Mobile Technology in the Classroom
Technology is changing every day, and we are seeing this innovation in more places than ever,
especially in classrooms. More specifically, since the release of the first Apple iPad in March 2010
we have seen an overwhelming amount of possibilities that were merely just ideas become available
in our classroom. Take for instance wanting to have a class trip to the Guggenheim. Now, this is
possible with virtual field trips. The Guggenheim offers a free app that lets individuals explore
works of art with a virtual tour and an audio tour. There are several other museums that offer this
same feature, such as Musée Du Louvre, The Canadian Museum of Civilization, and the American
Museum of Natural History. Say you want to bake a cake with the children in your classroom, but
you have a child with allergies. Now, this is possible with a cake baking app called Cake Maker–
Cooking Games, and there are number of similar apps that allow the baking of all things imaginable
via a tablet. With the invention of iPads, and like tablets came the surge in production of
applications or apps. Apps have an interactive nature that allows users to play out real life scenarios,
or scenarios that are far from reality. Some may recall the 2009 commercial for the iPhone with the
ever popular saying, "There's an App for that." Never would we have thought four years later, there
really could be an app for almost any and everything imaginable. Through experience in observing

Qualitative Research for Instructional Technology Essay
Qualitative Research
Qualitative Research Defined:
The simplest way to define qualitative research is to say that it is a type of research which involves
interpreting nonnumerical data. The underlying belief of qualitative research is that "meaning is
situated in a particular perspective or context, and, since different people and groups have different
perspectives and contexts, there are many different meanings in the world, none of which is
necessarily more valid or true than another" (Gay & Airasian, 1996). A qualitative researcher,
therefore, believes that the world cannot be pinned down by objective meanings, but that all
variables must be taken into account when conducting research, including the past experiences and

developing deep understanding, capturing everyday life
Research Focus isolates variables, uses large samples, is often anonymous to participants, uses tests
and formal instruments examines full context, interacts with participants, collects data face–to–face
from participants
Research Plan developed before study is initiated, structured, formal proposal Begins with an initial
idea that evolves as researcher learns more about participants and setting, flexible, tentative

Some Types of Qualitative Research:
Qualitative research is often called focus–group research due to the fact that its research samples are
often very small (Palmerino, 1999). Focus–group research can be used to determine the nuances or

Pros and Cons of Technology to Facilitate Learning The original view of information technology
within education focused only on the implementation in higher education, believing that information
technology would assist in integrating learning (Cauley, Aiken & Whitney, 2009). However, the
implementation of information technology has proven to be a beneficial tool for all levels of
education as it is viewed as fun and not something that is lectured or forced upon them. Instead,
students want to excel which has created a more productive environment for learning. Information
technology allows each diverse student to be focused on individually instead of the classroom as a
whole, most likely the best advantage to information technology within the classroom. In the
classroom, two instruction types are direct instruction and differentiated instruction. Direct
instruction is "being skill–oriented and emphasizing the use of small group, face–to–face instruction
by teachers and aides, using carefully articulated lessons in which cognitive skills are broken down
into small units" (Cobb, 2010, p. 37). Differentiated instruction is "a teaching philosophy based on
the premise that teachers should adapt instruction to student differences" (Cobb, 2010, p. 37). The
use of information technology within the classroom is most beneficial in conjunction with
differentiated instruction according to research studies being that instructional time can be created

The Role of Instructional Technology in Change Management
Businesses change processes and personnel to remain competitive. Essentially their bottom line is
profit and efficiency. Change management can be described as implementing new ideas and
processes by maximizing the positive components and minimizing the negative to management,
employees, and customers (Anonymous, 1999, p. 76). There are many variables to consider when

evaluates any system changes. "The third step in this four–phase process is configuration auditing,
which verifies that the set of configuration items that defines the structure or bill of material of a

associates, who are participating in the configuration process, follow the written configuration–and

configuration–and–change management policies over a period of time. If changes need to be made,
processes are modified to meet "...evolving development and maintenance best practices" (Fournier,

"If a child does not learn the way I teach, I must teach the way he/she learns," Jacquie McTaggart
used in her title of a book written for teachers by a teacher. A quote in which every teacher should
value. It is easy to force a student to listen, but it is not easy to force a student to understand. It
states that students all have different learning styles and the teacher should be able to figure out the
best way for students to understand intellectually and embrace the challenges of learning for the
teacher to become effective for all students. How does technology available to elementary students
learning math in the classroom help them attain the information and allow them to become
interested in learning the material and actually understanding it?
There are many benefits from using technology as an instructional tool in the mathematics
classroom. Math is not an easy subject for every student to grasp, there are some students who find
that math is as easy as counting "one, two, three", but for other students first learning math could
look like a foreign language. There are many techniques that teachers use for the student to be able
to quickly learn and understand, but one of the best ways is to incorporate technology into the
lesson. Even if it means teaching the lesson through technology or allowing the student to play
online games to allow them to have fun while learning and when it comes time for a test they can
refer back to this specific lesson and remember that

Instructional Technology: Plickers Game Analysis
Hey! This week in Instructional Technology we looked at some formative assessments. My group
did an app called Plickers. So what is Plickers? Well, Plickers is an assessment that allows the
teacher to create a class and questions. Once the class and questions are done, the teacher will print
out the Plickers Cards. Your students will rotate the card to indicate their response. The teacher then
takes their smart phone or iPad and takes a photo of the cards using the app. Then the teacher will
get a response based off the students answers.
This is a neat app that would work great for a school that does not have access to a lot of
technology. It would work well for 5th–high school. We decided that Plickers would work best as an

The Impact Of Technology On Technology Acceptance
Introduction
A range of studies has been conducted on instructional technology. Many findings show that
technology has a significant contribution to the improvement in teachers' competency and
instruction effectiveness. However, not all applications of technology in the classroom lead to the
desired goals. There are numerous constrains that may contribute to this. The level of technology
acceptance is one of these factors. However, what influences technology acceptance among
teachers? The article discusses a study conducted to determine the influence of gender on
technology acceptance. This article is important to my research topic. Many research studies
conducted in the past have focused on the impact of technology on the effectiveness of teaching or
student learning. Few articles have focused on factors affecting technological adoption in learning
facilities. These studies have found an improvement in learners scores on tests associated with
content covered in technology–assisted instructional packages. While the selection of suitable
technology is the initial step, employment of the technology by teachers determines its
effectiveness. The effectiveness factor of instructional technologies is often ignored. The reasoning
is that teachers may be willing to utilize technology but may be influenced by other factors besides
availability of necessary technology. The problem calls for research as educators need to proactively
take such factors into consideration when

A Research Study On Learning Theory Essay
Since the history of the universe was searched, the inception of innovation about learning theory
was seen as a practice, psychology and science was found in the literature of scholars across the
world. The Germany scholar named Lay (1903) studied the relationship between psychology and
the practice of teaching subjects in Language Arts and Literacy and math (Lay, 1903. P.1).
Based upon Lay (1903) she believed that educational subjects could benefit from an experimental
approach that explored the relative sciences in psychology, biology, and, anthropology. However,
the economical, logical, ethical, and religious experiences concerning the student and his
community develop profound conclusions about the experiments (Lay, 1903, p. 2). Also, the
observations, statistics and the experiment are substantial in the conclusions.
Dewey (1897) was perplexed about how socialization played such a rewarding part in the
educational process of children (Dewey, 1897, p. 24). Thorndike (1903) wrote several textbooks
about the psychology of educating, teaching, children so they will learn subject skills. In the
textbook of Educational Psychology, Thorndike investigated the influences about how mental
development, environment, and genetics help children to mature and grow with a healthy
personality (Thorndike, 1903, para.3).
While developing a theory about education, Thorndike (1903) created a hypothesis about The

Instructional Technology As A Problem Solving Tool For...
Blended learning has been a popular topic in education over the past decade. With the rapid
advancement of technology in recent years and the ever–increasing demands on teaching staff, there
is a scramble to find the golden goose – the key to harmonizing technology and education in order
to reach more students and ease the burden of teachers. It becomes more than just an issue of getting
technology into the classroom because hundreds of thousands of classrooms already have
technology capabilities. It becomes an issue of how to train teachers to use instructional technology
and truly integrate it into curriculum. It becomes an issue of how to make technology a problem–
solving tool for students of all ages and learning styles.
Some researchers believe blended learning to be the golden goose for education – which raises even
more issues and many questions. What instructional technologies can be useful in K–12 subjects?
How can instructional technology be used in college and professional development for adults? Is
blended learning the future of education? Can blended learning influence various learning styles and
create a deeper knowledge base? What professional development programs can we offer to ensure
that future teachers are prepared to operate technology in the classroom? The purpose of this paper
is to examine the aspects of blended learning and how instructional technologies can facilitate
lessons across many subjects and age groups. Blended learning is

The Relevance of Behavioral Psychology to Instructional Technology
Behavioral Psychology Defined
John Watson wrote a paper in the Psychological Review in 1913 and defined behavioral psychology
or behaviorism as
...a purely objective experimental branch of natural science. Its theoretical goal is the prediction and
control of behavior. Introspection forms no essential part of its methods, nor is the scientific value of
its data dependent upon the readiness with which they lend themselves to interpretation in terms of
consciousness. The behaviorist in his efforts to get a unitary scheme of animal response recognizes
no dividing line between man and brute (Reynolds, Sinatra, & Jetton 95).
Essentially Watson's views supported the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Lastly the concept of functionalism states "when people think or act they do so for a purpose or
function"(Alberto & Troutman 30). Thus behavioral psychology becomes a science emphasizing "a
practical and observable approach" (Alberto & Troutman 30).
There are many behavioral psychologists that have contributed to the field.
John Watson's definition provided the foundation for Ivan Pavlov and B.F. Skinner. Their work has
been extremely beneficial to the development of psychology and education.
Ivan Pavlov earned a Nobel Peace Price for his research on respondent conditioning. It was by
chance that this discovery was made. He was studying the behavior of dogs in his laboratory. If his
assistant who fed the dogs came into the laboratory when Pavlov was studying the dog's stomach,
the dog began to secrete gastric liquids, just as if they had been given food. Pavlov deemed this a
"psychic secretion" and "noted that this reaction affected the whole digestive system, starting with
the flow of saliva in the mouth as well as the secretion of acids in the stomach"(Alberto & Troutman
31). His peers discouraged him from pursuing this research, but he continued. His experiment
involving the dogs included pairing food powder (which starts salivation–an automatic reflex) with
a tone or noise that would normally have no affect on a dog's

Applying Malcolm Knowles Andragogy Model to Isd Essay
Applying Malcolm Knowles Andragogy Model to ISD
Abstract The way that an instructional designer defines learning and what is believed about the way
learning occurs plays an important role in situations where the facilitator wants to make a change in
how people do a job or they need to learn something new on the job. This paper focuses on Malcolm
Knowles adult learning assumptions and how to apply them in instructional strategies and
techniques for facilitating learning. It also explores some of the critics concerning his assumptions.
Knowles assumptions concerning adult learning are each addressed and an example provided on
how to apply these assumptions to ISD using technology. The information presented here provides

Knowles laid the groundwork that trainers needed to take into consideration before revising,
developing, or presenting any training program targeted at adults.
Knowles begins his assessments by asking several crucial questions about his learners and using a
holistic approach in developing training in chapter 13 ASTD. He begins by addressing the climate
and condition of the environment that he will be teaching in. His goal is to focus on collaboration
between the facilitator, the trainee, and their peers. He wants a comfortable atmosphere with the
proper tools and accommodations that will help his students learn in comfort. His methods are
geared towards building a friendly, fun, and approachable learning atmosphere.
Diagnosing the audience needs can be done in many different ways, such as in Rothwell's learning
assessment. Knowles on the other hand includes his participants in diagnosing their own learning
needs. Knowles proposes that learning is not a need unless the trainee perceives it to be and by
allowing them to participate in the planning of their own learning, he helps them want to learn what
they need to learn. Knowles suggests an emphasis on self–diagnostic procedures such as simulation
exercises, assessments; competency based testing, and feedback. Once the learner has diagnosed

Essay on Qualitative Research for Instructional Technology
Qualitative Research for Instructional Technology
Background:
A trend of the past several years has been the growing use of qualitative research for educational
research. Qualitative research, broadly defined, means "any kind of research that produces findings
not arrived at by means of statistical procedures or other means of quantification. Where
quantitative researchers seek causal determination, prediction, and generalization of findings,
qualitative researchers seek instead illumination, understanding, and extrapolation to similar
situations. Qualitative analysis results in a different type of knowledge than does quantitative
inquiry. " (Hoepfl, 1997, p.13). "During the past several decades, particularly during the 1970s ...

1. Qualitative research uses the natural setting as the source of data. The researcher attempts to
observe, describe and interpret settings as they are, maintaining an empathic neutrality.
2. The researcher acts as the human instrument of data collection.
3. Qualitative researchers predominantly use inductive data analysis.
4. Qualitative research reports are descriptive, incorporating expressive language and the presence
of voice in the text.
5. Qualitative research has an interpretive character, aimed at discovering the meaning events have
for the individuals who experience them, and the interpretations of those meanings by the
researcher.
6. Qualitative researchers pay attention to the idiosyncratic as well as the pervasive, seeking the
uniqueness of each case.
7. Qualitative research has an emergent (as opposed to predetermined) design, and researchers focus
on this emerging process as well as the outcomes or product of the research.
8. Qualitative research is judged using special criteria for trustworthiness.
Relevance to Instructional Technology:
"One of the keys to in–depth understanding of complex situations is an involvement with context.
While quantitative methodologies have, among other things, the advantages of objectivity and
generalizability, there are levels of understanding that simply cannot be attained apart from intensive
involvement with people, institutions, and situations" (Sutton,

System. It describes the vision and mission of the college and details how supporting student
success is a key component. The wording is clear and describes how and when a faculty member
may use Early Alert to notify students and support staff of problems.
The Early Alert system is a method of alerting support personnel that a student is at risk for
withdrawal or failure due to behavior or attendance issues, missing assignments or poor academic
performance. Faculty log onto Blackboard and select the Early Alert link. Once in the system they
can raise electronic flags about the concerning issues, send notification emails to students, and can
leave notes for the Early Alert staff. This is one method of utilizing literacy support systems.

Qualitative and quantitative methods each bring a unique perspective to research and both methods
satisfy the major goals of research in different ways.
Historians, political scientists, sociologists and educators like myself seek to have a broad yet deep
understanding of society and politics based on multiple perspectives. Very often, we want both a
theoretical and empirical understanding of a given topic, as that suggests knowledge of general
concepts along with detailed information. We aim to describe and form arguments mainly by
explaining in qualitative terms the noteworthy attributes of a given social or political event, trend or
phenomenon.
Marie Hoepfl synthesized information form several resources as she attempted to define qualitative

TPACK Important In The Field Of Instructional Technology
Discussion 4: Why is a model such as TPACK important in the field of instructional technology?
Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) is important in the field of instructional
technology because it is paramount to ensure that teachers know how to use the technology that they
are supposed to integrate into there classrooms. I also can say, that TPACK is extremely helpful in
the corporate world as well. If I am expected to use the technology in the office and explain how to
use it, I better be sure I know how the technology is being used. In the corporate setting, much like
the classroom, if you don't know how to use the technology you are integrating into office use, you

I Am Into The Instructional Technology Program Because I...
I enrolled in the instructional technology program because I have a passion for technology. I do not
necessarily have any intentions of teaching at the K–12 level but the knowledge I have received in
this class can still apply to adult training. I find that there is little differentiation between children
learning and adults learning. Ultimately, no matter what age a student is he or she needs to be
engaged and have choices on what they want to learn and how they want to learn it. What impacted
me deeply was the industrial–age style teaching no longer applies. This teacher–centered school
environment was what I grew up with. I'm used to the "sage on the stage" and many of my
generational peers are as well. Unfortunately, much of training and development is still conducted
this way in the corporate world. For example, even though we have access to Massive Open Online
Courses for low cost education, it ultimately is an expert that is the star of the classroom.
Assessments are limited to knowledge–based tests. The same can be true for learning management
systems that contain computer–based training modules. What this class taught me is technology can
shape the methodology used to teach. For example, when I consider how Google docs is able to be
used in an active real–time collaboration, then I can conclude that the best use of that tech is when
students need to work together. Therefore, I can look for learning opportunities where a group
project is better than a lecture.

Teacher Training Of Assistive Instructional Technology
Teacher training in assistive instructional technology (AIT) has been a topic of discussion that has
heightened with the drive for differentiated instruction. Although, research has been extensively
conducted on pre–service training, not much research has indicated the success of teacher training in
assistive instructional technology for in–service experienced teachers (Edyburn, 2014). In an
attempt to advance the science in the field of leadership and educational administration in
relationship to teacher training and professional development for teachers of students with learning
disabilities in the all–inclusive classroom, the research topic the perceptions of experienced regular
education English teachers, concerning teacher training in assistive instructional technology in the
all–inclusive classroom was developed. This paper will address, the leader of the school's

Knowledge Management and Instructional Technology Essay
Knowledge Management and Instructional Technology
The new "buzz word" in many corporate circles currently is the term "Knowledge Management or
K.M." KM is considered mostly a role for the Information Technologist because of its storage of the
company's information on databases. Because of the "info–glut" that is occurring in many
corporations, K.M. is strongly becoming the role for the Instructional Technologist to group that
information into training modules for the corporate Intranet, so that the corporation's employees can
retrieve the "knowledge" in a real–time, need–to–know basis. In this white paper, I will define

This latter definition fits Dr. Harmon's definition of what education is. So what is really Knowledge
Management? Both definitions emphasize knowledge and learning within the organization to be
used by the employee to improves his/her comprehension of the way the corporation works. Also
emphasized in these two definitions is the role of communication in the information equation. Even
though a company's information about its methodologies and strategies are being stored on large
databases it is how it is retrieved and used by its personnel that emphasizes the role for the
Instructional Technologist. With the business and education definitions of Knowledge Management
stated clearly, what are some of the strategies that business uses to disseminate this knowledge?
Knowledge Management Strategies
According to the Harvard Business Review, most companies are not taking a uniform approach to
managing their knowledge, but are employing two different strategies with emphasis on either one.
The two strategies are:
Codification
In some companies, the strategy centers on the computer. Knowledge is carefully codified and
stored in databases, where it can be accessed and used easily by anyone in the company (Hansen,
Nohria, & Tierney, March–April 1999). Personalization
In other companies, knowledge is closely tied to the person who developed

Technology And The Classroom Increase Student Achievement...
The use of technology in today's time continues to develop inside and beyond the classroom.
Promoting technology in classrooms gives teachers the tools they need to connect with this digital
media world; however, the challenge is how and when integration is useful. Many teachers currently
do not have the technological fluency to accomplish the goals of the new national standards. The
Common Core standards expect teachers to include technology in their learning to increase student
achievement. It is important for all educational stakeholders to work together on the common goal
of preparing our youth for the future. To acquire a better understanding of teachers and
administrators' attitudes toward technology integration, the following research question is
developed: How does integrating technology in the classroom increase student achievement? The
purpose of this study is to determine the impact of integrating technology in middle school
classroom and the benefits of integrating technology in the classroom. This research investigated the
effectiveness of the usage of technology in the classroom, student achievement of the use of
technology, and teacher and principals' perspectives of technology.

Benefits Of Online Higher Education
The digital era has created a revolutionary structure to higher education using the internet.
Technology has changed the way students can interact with their instructors and classroom
instruction through portals that institutions have created on their specific websites for degree and
non–degree seeking students. The benefits of online courses range from different avenues to create
an educational environment that provides more options to classroom instructions. Online higher
education is an exceptional alternative to traditional classroom learning due to the convenience, peer
interaction, cost, and self–pacing aspects of the institution.
As military members travel throughout the world on a moment's notice, the convenience of online
higher education creates a way for a military member to continue their education without pausing
their educational development. According to Starr (2013), "Active duty military service members
are increasing as constituents of online higher education environments in America" (p. 3). The rise
in numbers is due to the convenience that online education provides for service member who can
now do their job that usually entails traveling, and keep up with their educational goals. According
to McPherson (2015), "Internet technology provides the ability to stop, rewind, and play
instructional videos, something that traditional classrooms do not provide" (p. 144). With videos and
webinars available to students, the content can always be issued or retrieved

Instructional Programs For Technology Education

  • 1. Instructional Programs For Technology Education To develop meaningful instructional programs for technology education, goals need to be in place to direct the outcomes of curriculum development and teaching. They go beyond everyday teaching objectives; they are directed at long–term learning and programmatic outcomes. Performance standards measure how much of the content the student is proficient. Opportunity–to– learn standards ensure the learning is student focused, everyone has a right to education and that education should be learner centered. For an educational technology standard to be most effective it needs to recognize these three standards. International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) has accomplished this with its National Educational Technology Standards (NETS). The standards provided by NETS provide a comprehensive set of goals to encourage a technology integrated education. Introducing educational technology into the developing world is multidimensional and requires many basic issues to be recognized and addressed. It is becoming recognized that telecentres and the use of ICT in developing countries to assist in meeting the Millennium Development Goals is becoming increasingly viable. Focus Area #1: Technology Operations and Concepts Throughout this program, you have developed your technical skills by using various tools, applications, hardware, and software such as the Internet, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. • 2. Rossett's Model Essay Rossett's Model Overview Organizations are constantly faced with finding solutions to their problems. Often times they demand training to act as a quick fix to their problems; thus, trainers need to make needs assessment an essential part of their instructional design process. Otherwise, according to Zemke (1998), trainers "could very well end up doing a marvelous job of solving the wrong problems". Therefore, the trainer's challenge is to find the problem and to understand it sufficiently so that it can be solved (Rossett, 1987). "Analysis or needs assessment is the basis for wise recommendation about instruction and supporting organizational strategies" (Rossett 1992). The terms used may vary. Some may refer it to ... This should focus on the various sources that may be contributing to the problem. Solutions – What are some ways of ending or diminishing the identified problem? Solutions should be considered based on the identified causes for performance problems. Five Steps of the Needs Assessment Process Rossett (1987, 1995) outlines the needs assessment process in five steps: Step 1 – Determine purposes based on initiators; Step 2 – Identify sources; Step 3 – Select tools; Step 4– Conduct the needs assessment in stages; and Step 5 – Use findings for decision making. In step one, Rossett (1987, 1985) suggests that there are three typical situations that initiate the needs assessment process: – Performance Problems: these are the most familiar circumstances that involve training professionals and launch Needs assessment. • 4. The Impact Of Media And Instructional Technology On... Position paper on the impact of Media and Instructional Technology on Student Learning There have been many debates, among researchers, in the past on technology and the impact that it has on learning. However, there is one debate that, after over nearly two decades, is still being discussed to this day. The debate of Clark–Kozma has been of great significance to researchers in the past and present. As new and improved technology is introduced, many researchers have focused their study on this debate to prove or disprove the findings of Richard Clark and Robert Kozma. Clark and Kozma Over thirty years ago, Richard Clark researched the impact of technology on learning. "In 1983, Richard E. Clark published the results of a meta–analysis that examined the influence of media on learning where he concluded that media do not influence learning under any circumstance" (Becker, 2010, para. 3). Clark believes that media does not influence learning to any degree. He has stood firm in his research findings over the past years. Just a few years later, Robert Kozma decided to oppose Clark's debate and complete his own research to decide if technology had an impact on learning. Kozma was looking to find out why technology had failed to impact learning. "In order to establish a relationship between media and learning we must first understand why we have failed to establish one so far" (Kozma, 1994, p. 2). Kozma believes that media does influence learning. The Debate ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A Crisis: Funding for Educational Technology in the United States The United States is a country that thrives through technological advancement. The wealth and success of this nation is dependent on providing every child, regardless of race, ethnicity, or gender, with the opportunity to obtain technological skills that are essential for a successful future. Unfortunately, educational funding for technology has failed to take precedent. In realizing that, the question then becomes, how is a country expected to thrive from the use and advancement of technology, when failing to properly train future leaders? Funding must be provided for schools to purchase technological equipment, such as computers, in order to ensure that each ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In reality, this program was at risk fordoing quite theopposite, by drastically cutting the entire education budget. Furthermore,if the plan is based on performance, it is the underprivileged schools thatoften have the lowest test scores. If these schools do somehow obtain fundingfrom the government they most likely will spend the funding intended fortechnology on other more pressing demands or needs, such as textbooks ornew facilities. The government cannot expect any school to deprivestudents of necessities, such as functioning bathrooms, in order to obtainluxuries, such as a computer in each classroom (Guerard, 2). The majorityof schools, especially those in rural or poor communities, rely heavily onyearly funding from their state government as well as the national government. Schools are the institutes of learning and knowledge for the majority ofchildren in this country, and therefore funding should be a priority in governmentplanning and budgeting. It should take precedence, and be seen as anissue of great importance. Unfortunately, this is often not the case. Budgeting for technology in education can be delayed when a majorcrisis occurs in this country, such as the terrorist attacks on the WorldTrade Center and the Pentagon. • 8. Integrating Instructional Technology And Technology Integrating Instructional Technology Technology is important in our education today. Technology can be a vital tool in enhancing and improving the instruction for our students. Our technology today allows our students to search resources, use social media sites, and locate almost anything that they may be researching for a specific subject. Teachers need to know how to incorporate these tools into their curriculum in a way that facilitates and enhances student learning. Three technology tools that can be used inside the classroom effectively are classroom website, interactive white boards, and TED Ed. Classroom Website A classroom website can be a valuable tool within a classroom. Having a classroom website provides students with literacy, history, science, and math skill practice. It also increases their opportunities to read, write and exchange ideas with others, and extended learning experiences across the curriculum. Classroom website is engaging and allows more interaction among teachers, parents, and students. A classroom website acts as a portal for learning and enhancing skills (Holcomb, L.B., Castek, J.M., & Johnson, P.R.; 2007). I will use a classroom website in my classroom and curriculum to provide educational website links, assignments, lessons, announcements, a discussion board, and a link for grades. • 9. How Instructional Technology Has Evolved Into What Is... To begin to understand how instructional technology has evolved into what is defined as 21st technology today. The first question to be answered is: What is technology? According M.D. Roblyer, author of Integrating Educational Technology into Teaching, "technology can be anything from a pencil to a viral environment" (2016. P. 6) If we use this definition, we can go back to prehistoric time when man used chiseled stone to carve their thoughts onto a wall inside of a cave over 200,000 years ago. Fast forward to approximately 400BC, Plato. How does a philosopher fit it into technology? He is known for his "famous work, the Republic, which is regarded as his own philosophy, where the main character in effect speaks for Plato himself. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... IT created new ways of communication that are still being developed today in technology through both instructional and educational technology. In education the terms instructions and technology and educational technology are intertwined and often taken for the other. Both have been defined by M.D. Roblyer. He refers to instructions technology as it "deals directly with teaching and learning application" (2015. P. 424). Educational technology was defined as "a combination of the process and tools involved in addressing educational needs and problems, with an emphasis on applying the most current digital and informational tools" (Roblyer, 2016. P. 423). In simpler terms, one is the application of knowledge and the other is the process of applying that information through technological tools. Instruction technology is different when it is used in various settings. From primary grade through college level and even in businesses, they all begin with the teaching and learning process. Burnett, Jr. Grand Canyon University: EDU 225 Instructional Technology July 22, 2012 Technology of the past 20 years has become a focal point of teaching and learning. As a teacher, it is my job to facilitate the learning for an individual by creating an environment that not only conducive for learning, but also places the child in a position to discover and learn them for themselves. Pros and Cons According to Huff Post Education, part of the Huffington Post internet newspaper that caters to the world of education, companies such Google, Verizon and Microsoft are pouring in million upon millions of dollars to provide schools with the latest in new gadgets and devices. The schools are in return, are looking for technology to revive student performances in the classroom (Contributing writer to the Huffington Post, 2010). As I mentioned earlier, my goal is to produce lifelong learners. I want my students to be just a captivated in my class as they are to latest music video by their favorite artist. Engagement is the true issue here, and begs the question, "Does technology foster engagement or inhibit it?, (Ain, 2011). I for one, believe that technology can do what is it purposed to do, and that is to foster engagement and enable critical and creative thinking (Ain, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. Integration Of Instructional Technology Into Public Education Earle, R. (2002). The Integration of Instructional Technology into Public Education: Promises and Challenges. 42(1), 5–13. This journal article, which comes from the professor of education out of Brigham University, Utah, examines technology as a tool for students but not as a form of reliance for teachers. This article also takes a look at the economic perspective of incorporating digital technology more frequently into the classroom. As well, this article takes a very sociological perspective and examines the way in which this upcoming digitalization of the classroom, which will provide a strong relationship to many of the course materials which will also will be included within this paper. This article also provides a new argument/ point of view that examines the technology as only a minor part of the classroom, as the teacher is still the main source of knowledge which differs from a few of the other articles. Due to these differences in perspective, it will provide an interesting contrast and argument that could help guide the paper in a few different ways. As well, this paper provides an American perspective, which could or could not be relevant, but the context could provide an explanation for some of the biases within the article. Instructional technologies motivate students, capture their attention, and help explain complex concepts. B. BARRIERS OF USING INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNOLOGIES INTO E–LEARNING IN THE CLASSROOM When we talking about the barriers of using instructional technology can recognize a number of factors as barriers to the adoption of instructional technology. The fear of failure in using the technology is a factor that has been cited as an initial barrier (Hannafin & Savenye, 1993). I noticed early in my military career, that broken processes were often ignored. Meanwhile, the person at the tactical level of the process was blamed for the result. After all the punishments are dealt out, new employees are assigned to the project, and all the smoke clears, the same problems seem to persist. When I suspect a process is inefficient, I feel a strong urge to find out why these issues exist and then find solutions. This is often a pursuit that puts me at odds with some supervisors, but cherished by some subordinates. It's not hard for me to recognize that most employees want to excel at their jobs. I feel that underneath all the positional authorities of leadership, the true test is the ability to empower people. This is the reason why I want to not only learn how to use technology in an education setting; I also want to improve the lives of students with leadership. I believe that the educational technology leadership program at George Washington University is the only program that perfectly meshes the two together. In my opinion, human performance is the key to learning. However, it seems as though education sometimes focuses on the information that needs to be taught instead of the outcomes. Dr. Watkins' publication highlighted this theory in previous work by Robert Mager. Watkins (2010) stated "instructional designers should move beyond determining what instructors should teach; rather, they should focus on understanding what learners should be able to do as a result of the instruction." Technology can serve as an excellent starting point for student centered learning. Technology and leadership are the two elements that draw me to this program. There are ... Technology has been in our society, and our classrooms for that matter, for quite some time. According to Seattler (1990) integration of televisions into the classroom started in the 1950's and has evolved to bigger and better things since then. When first introduced, televisions were given put in classrooms with the expectation that when turned on, teaching practices would be transformed and problems in instruction and student performance would be solved. This movement was met by resistance, as described by Cuban (1986); teachers were not willing to integrate this technology into their teaching practices. One must try an idea out, fail or succeed, then evaluate the effectiveness by analyzing the results. After this process, a decision about future activities can be made, and then taken through the same process. Once examined further, it is not merely a time issue, but also an educator comfort issue. If given a task of implementing technology with little or no training, then expected to transform student thinking in new and exciting ways, one cannot blame a teacher for feeling overwhelmed and perhaps resistant to doing so. The current system must be examined and addressed as technology is being poured into education at a fast rate, and districts must find a way to support teachers in this overwhelming endeavor of not only learning the technology, but learning to teach with it. Solution Number One Teachers must be trained in a new type of pedagogy, one that involves the use of technology. As stated by Cuban (2001) teachers end up using technology as means to mealy keep up with what they required to do, such as check daily messages from administration and keep grades, communicate with the staff, create letters to go home, and to create materials for their lessons such as handouts. Although this is a form of using technology, it is far from the desired use of using the given classroom technology for innovations in their teaching style. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 15. Assistive Technology Lesson Pl Effective Instructional... Assistive Technology Lesson Plan Effective instructional approaches are designed to look at how a student learns and how a teacher delivers the information to the student. When a teacher identifies the learning style of their students, they can effectively plan the instruction. The learning style approach to teaching requires the teacher to build lessons to include students different learning styles. A student with special needs will thrive in this teaching environment; they will be taught at their level of strength. Also, the special needs student will need additional accommodations and modifications in order for them to access the curriculum. Anderson (2007) states that "differentiated thinking empowers teachers to be responsive rather than reactive to the unique individual personalities, backgrounds, and abilities found within the students" (para. 3). In other words, an effective teacher is one who thinks about the student as an individual, with unique strengths and weakness, and uses this information in the design and plan of their instruction. They are effective because the build their lesson on the specifics of their students and not a one size fits all lesson plan. Individual Differences There are many components to a lesson plan. Included in the plan is the primary learning styles. Learning styles are a snap shot of how each student learns best. The lesson plan in the appendix identifies learning styles for several students. Few articles have focused on factors affecting technological adoption in learning facilities. These studies have found an improvement in learners scores on tests associated with content covered in technology–assisted instructional packages. While the selection of suitable technology is the initial step, employment of the technology by teachers determines its effectiveness. Based upon Lay (1903) she believed that educational subjects could benefit from an experimental approach that explored the relative sciences in psychology, biology, and, anthropology. Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) is important in the field of instructional technology because it is paramount to ensure that teachers know how to use the technology that they are supposed to integrate into there classrooms. I also can say, that TPACK is extremely helpful in the corporate world as well. If I am expected to use the technology in the office and explain how to use it, I better be sure I know how the technology is being used. In the corporate setting, much like the classroom, if you don't know how to use the technology you are integrating into office use, you will not only be frustrated but, those you are teaching ... • 35. I Am Into The Instructional Technology Program Because I... I enrolled in the instructional technology program because I have a passion for technology. I do not necessarily have any intentions of teaching at the K–12 level but the knowledge I have received in this class can still apply to adult training. I find that there is little differentiation between children learning and adults learning. Ultimately, no matter what age a student is he or she needs to be engaged and have choices on what they want to learn and how they want to learn it. What impacted me deeply was the industrial–age style teaching no longer applies. This teacher–centered school environment was what I grew up with. I'm used to the "sage on the stage" and many of my generational peers are as well. Unfortunately, much of training and development is still conducted this way in the corporate world. For example, even though we have access to Massive Open Online Courses for low cost education, it ultimately is an expert that is the star of the classroom. Assessments are limited to knowledge–based tests. The same can be true for learning management systems that contain computer–based training modules. What this class taught me is technology can shape the methodology used to teach. For example, when I consider how Google docs is able to be used in an active real–time collaboration, then I can conclude that the best use of that tech is when students need to work together. Therefore, I can look for learning opportunities where a group project is better than a lecture. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

If the major component of your "Web" based course is duplication of material that could be handed out on paper then you're not using the medium to its potential and the students will not understand its inherent value. There is a larger potential for the students to be turned off by the approach due to low content value of the course web pages. This would then be a self–fulfilling prophecy that web base instruction does little to enhance learning and interest. It's important not to get caught in this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 38. Instructional Technology 325 Reflection Reflection Paper Throughout my time this semester in Instructional Technology 325, I was able to learn many different resources that I can incorporate into my future physical education classes. I believe that I can incorporate technology into my gymnasium with the basic projector screen, stereo system, ipad, ipod, and heart rate monitors. I also can include some more advanced technology support as well. I would like to use Google Cardboard, Google Expeditions, Curiscope, and HTC Vibe: Virtual Reality. • 39. Knowledge Management and Instructional Technology Essay Knowledge Management and Instructional Technology The new "buzz word" in many corporate circles currently is the term "Knowledge Management or K.M." KM is considered mostly a role for the Information Technologist because of its storage of the company's information on databases. Because of the "info–glut" that is occurring in many corporations, K.M. is strongly becoming the role for the Instructional Technologist to group that information into training modules for the corporate Intranet, so that the corporation's employees can retrieve the "knowledge" in a real–time, need–to–know basis. The benefits of online courses range from different avenues to create an educational environment that provides more options to classroom instructions. Online higher education is an exceptional alternative to traditional classroom learning due to the convenience, peer interaction, cost, and self–pacing aspects of the institution.
