My Fear- Personal Narrative Essay
My Fear– Personal Narrative Every child, teenager and adult has experienced anxiety, fear or
worry at some time in their lives. Everyone has their own phobias. Some are just temporary
whereas others just linger, haunting them forever. Life allows us each of us to experience
challenges in our own way. But when these challenges become almost impossible to complete,
they become long term problems. When faced with fear, one looks for the easiest route out, but
in my case, there were no signposts. There is one part of my life that I vividly recall. I don't really
know when or how it started. Maybe I'd had it all my life or maybe it developed at a certain age.
Perhaps, that will remain an unsolved...show more content...
I didn't know why this was happening and felt that I had no control over my thoughts or fears. By
this stage, I would have persistent nightmares of my house burning down where everyone in the
building would escape, with the exception of me. I remember how I felt after being awoken by
the fear of death. It was a feeling of confusion and I didn't know why this was happening. My
phobia totally disabled me and at the time I found it difficult to relax. I live alone with my mum
and she was unaware of what I was secretly going through. At the time, I never really opened my
eyes to the fact that I had a problem. I told myself that it was just a phase and that I was fine but
deep down I think I always knew that this was untrue. Another habit of mine was counting
syllables of words. Whenever I would see a shop sign I would count the syllables of the words
written and would ensure that the number of syllables did not exceed sixteen (my favourite
number). One evening, a friend of mine had visited my home for dinner and I could do nothing
but worry about the food overcooking and causing a fire. It would not leave my mind and was all
that I could think of. That is when I noticed that my actions were odd. I almost immediately logged
on to the internet and searched for fire related obsessions.

Example Of A Narrative Essay College
A narrative essay is a story that is true and has meaning, whether it be to prove a point, send a
message, explain an event that's happened, or entertain the reader. Most narrative essays are
written to convey a story from a past time that sends a message to not only the reader, but the
writer themselves. When planning a narrative essay, the first step is to identify the topic in which
the writer wants to explain. There are multiple ways in which the you can come up with a topic, it
all depends on the style you're most comfortable with. The next step is to write down all the main
events that supports the topic you have chosen. What main events led up to the story you're trying to
approach? What key events made what your topic is all about?...show more content...
This event made a big impact on my life as it showed me the value of work ethic by showing me
that hard work pays off. It also taught me to never give up and follow your heart. And lastly, it
taught me the importance of a team to help me through the tough practices and mental battles. When
choosing my topic, I wrote down 3 main events that were important in my life that impacted me and
shaped myself into the person I am today. The 3 I chose were: breaking the 3200–meter record for
my school, breaking the 4x800 record with my team, and lastly, moving from Poinciana to
Kissimmee and leaving all my friends to take on a new chapter in my life. The topic I chose to
write is one I feel very passionate about and the single memory I can recall the most. Although
breaking the 4x800 record with my team was a memorable moment and the first record I'd ever
broken at my school, nothing compared to the feeling I got when I broke an individual record that
was held by my own coach. I had a sense of relief and happiness, not just for myself, but my coach
as well. It felt as if I didn't just break the record for the sake of me personally, but for him too. May
have taken 21 years to be broken, but I'd say it sure was worth

My Writing Experience Essay
Writing has always been my most difficult part of English. Reading, on the other hand, is
something I could do all day; however, with writing, I grimace just thinking about it. It was not
that I did not have anything to say, because I actually have quite a bit to say. I just could never
figure out how to phrase what I had to say in just right way on the page. My mom taught me to
read and write at a young age. After that, I would devour any book that I could get my hands on.
However, I have had trouble with writing since it became more than just my alphabet and numbers.
In elementary, I got through assignments by making my projects read like a boring fact book. This
way was awesome for a high grade, not so great for writing interesting...show more content...
Mullins comments and said, "Next time, you will just have to change it up a bit." I asked her
what she meant. My mom said, "Next time you will make it more fun, not so much like a
timeline, and more like a true story about your subject." This was my first experience in writing
for a grade. I learned a lot and I immediately applied to my future written assignments. I was in
high school the first time I had to write a narrative. I was a freshman. This was Ms. Bradley's first
time teaching at Union Christian Academy. On her first day, she gave us our syllabus and said, "I
do not accept late work, especially on writing assignments." We, literally, sat there stunned. My
freshman class had it very easy during eighth grade year. We were not expecting this. As I looked
through the syllabus, I saw that our first assignment was due in a week and it was a narrative. At
this time, I did not even know what a narrative was. Ms. Bradley explained that a narrative was an
account or story of events. It could be either true or false. Our narrative had to be true. It had to be
a true account of something that happened to us over the summer. She wanted to gauge how are
writing skills were. Our narrative had to be at least two to two and a half pages long. I chose to
write my first ever narrative on my trip to Fort Worth, Texas. Once again, I was plagued with
writer's block. I had the story in my head, but everything I

The school feels really big at the time and it's very overwhelming. As I walk around I see people
hugging, reuniting, and saying, "oh my gosh I have missed you!" All I am worrying about is
what people are thinking of me like, does she have any friends, or she looks like a loner. I am
getting nervous and more nervous every second that passes. I decide I need to go straight to my

to sit that period, or who I was going to talk to. I probably looked like the happiest person in the
world with a big smile on my face. As I am smiling as I say, "hello, Claire right?" She says, "Yes!"
We sit together, exchange social media usernames, and numbers. Later, I go to 6th period, my
science class. When we come in the teacher says to talk with people to sit in alphabetical order. I
am placed next to a kid named Dominic Thomas, and his buddy is sitting on the other side of me.
They were acting like I didn't exist, and getting in my personal space. Later, the teacher says, "The
person sitting at your table will be your lab partner." That's when I found out Dominic Thomas will
be my lab partner for the quarter. I did not know what was coming for me. Finally, 7th period here I
come. Now this class was one crazy class, with some crazy people, but it was all good because I get
to leave after this period. The bell rings and I am out of there. Leaving school I am feeling many
emotions, I am happy to leave, excited to tell my mom about all I experienced that day,

Leadership Role and Style: Personal Narrative
During my past employment, I had the chance to exercise leadership roles, managing a group of
three, and train new employees. One way to motivate them was to let them leave early on the last
working day of the week. I also empowered them by providing them some consulting work, which
they felt that it was shown to the client as their own work in order for them to feel that they were
part of the team and have a sense they belong to the organization. Therefore, this behavioral
approach that I exercised would be considered as Employee–centered Leadership. This is because I
focused on the people doing the work, while delegating decision making, and satisfying employee
needs, which created a creative a supportive work environment (Rama). From there, I also sat with
each one alone and try to figure out the goals and objectives that he or she wanted, which was either
in the organization or educational wise while developing ideas on how to accomplish their goals.
Therefore, as an Employee–centered leader, I was responsible for others and being a team player as
well. As a leader, I feel that working in a group or team is a must to see progress within the
company. In order to see progress within the company, working together as a team is very
important. When the employees see the leader working with as a team, they feel more motivated to
work. They feel equally as important as the leader. By enhancing this equality, a team will create a
concept that suits the diverse needs of the

major role in my life would definitely be sports. It is almost as if I look up to sports because I could
not live without them. Sports pretty much define me as me. I love to play sports as well as watch
all kinds of sports on T.V. and if I could ever go to a game and watch the players play live I would be
thrilled. Basically sports define me because I am ambitious, I finish what I start, I set goals for
myself, and I am a fierce competitor in which I love to win and I hate to lose. The greatest part
about sports to me is living for the moment when the game is on the line and the pressure is on can

crowed was electrified and cheering us on. I thought about all the hard work the coaches put us
through doing two a days and keeping us late after a hard practice, spending all of that time and
hard work just for this one little moment when the game was on the line. Back to reality our
quarterback had started the play and it looked like it was going nowhere and we might have to got
into overtime. Then after about 6 crazy seconds he threw the ball to our halfback and he broke a
couple tackles and the somehow stretched across the goal line by about 2 inches and we had taken
the lead 8–6 with 52 seconds to go. When the game clock hit 00:00 for the first time in our schools
history the football team had beaten Aberdeen and none of us could believe it. This was a special
moment. Now, it was in this moment when I had realized that sports define me as me because we
never gave up, none of us wanted to lose, we set a goal and completed it, but most important we
kept our eye on the prize and came through in the moment when the game was on the line. Nobody
is going to remember how many games we won or who the best player on the team was that season,
but I guarantee what people will remember is when we had beaten Aberdeen for the first time in

Narrative Essay About Summer Vacation
Summer Vacation
Do you know the reason why we have summer vacation? I believe that summer vacation is not just
about sleeping in and appreciating the time off, it includes spending time with your close friends and
family, and that is exactly what I did this summer break. There were many fascinating things I did
this summer and in this essay I will tell you a few of things I enjoyed doing.
Spending time with close relatives and is exactly what I did to kickoff my summer even though
massive amount of them lived out of the state Indiana going to Seattle, Mexico, Texas, and Virginia.

road from Justin Timberlake's recording studio/private house, All of the kids including me went
to his front and touched his door knob and I might of took a sneak peek inside his house. The last
day we were there we visited a beautiful waterfall, even though it was a lovely site the water part
was very deadly. The reason why it was deadly was there were big boulders everywhere you
stepped, and there were water moccasins which are venomous snakes that lurked around in the
water. When it was time to live the waterfall a water moccasin was about 20 feet in front of me and
my friends, thankfully another guy ran into the water scaring the snake away making it safe for me
and my buddies to get out. Honestly out of the whole entire summer this had to be my favorite
vacation.
This next vacation isn't really a vacation it's more of an event but it was fun, hilarious, and
relaxing like a vacation. After Tennessee we went seven days later we went to Detroit, Michigan
for this thing called a muck fest. A muck fest is 5k with muddy obstacles that you run into on your

finish. The best part was when I was able to do the last three obstacles and get

At this point in my life I find myself in an interesting predicament regarding my attitudes toward
reading and writing; more so towards reading. Years ago I used to love reading books for pleasure
but nowadays I find myself reading things that little to no effort to digest. This includes the very
basic posts on facebook expressing one's opinion on something or articles and threads on reddit
discussing topics I find intriguing. Perhaps it's the severe senioritis that has overcome me as I
enter my last semester at Chapman University. As I've gotten lazier I can see it start to reflect in
my everyday life. Deep down I still love to read but I rarely find myself getting truly invested into
the action unless it relates to something I am very...show more content...
You can feed the mind as much as you want and it will never get full of reading. Sadly, I'm not the
same person that I was. I guess you could say it's part of growing up. It never really was
intentional but it's just the way how it ended up. On the other hand my attitudes toward writing
are very different. First let me say that deep down I truly do not like to write. I myself don't
personally like to write for leisure or pleasure but rather I write because I believe it is one of the
most important aspects of being able to communicate with those around you, both personally and
professionally. To put differently, my attitude towards writing is that I write because I need to
write and survive in the world around me. I write because I have to, not because I want to.
Hopefully this somewhat makes sense. To better explain let me make a comparison. When I am
assigned a writing assignment or I am writing because the action is being forced upon me I find
myself not enjoying the process and overall the end result is subpar. The perfect example of this
would be my junior year in high school when I was enrolled in AP english literature. I dreaded the
majority of the class simply because there was so much writing involved in the entire course and
therefore I was constantly writing just to get a grade. Being forced to write in such high volume
every week for an entire school year was not enjoyable for myself and as a result the

Personal Narrative: I Found Myself
It was almost 3 years ago that I found myself in a rather strange dilemma. I was bored with
blogging and all the gimmicks that you had to do in order to be good at it. This concept did not
work for me. I wanted something that inspired creativity in me and in others. So I started
experimenting with posting cartoons, pop culture artwork, internet memes, and videos. Not only was
I having fun, I was learning to curate content. Another door that was opened was partnering with
artists who were animators, cartoonists, and illustrators. My friend Tim Engstrom created a custom
artwork for the header and the sidebar. It wasn't long before my clients, friends, and family were
reading the blog. What I learned was that this project was more than inspiration,

Narrative Essay About Having A Dream
Everyone has a dream. Whether it's small or big...we all have one. We also give up on them. We get
stuck in the idea that our ideas are too far–fetched either because of other people's comments or
because of our own self–doubt. We allow ourselves to forget about them and move on to things we
believe are better for us. To things that although don't make us happy, are what society tells us is the
right way to live. It's hard to have a dream and keep it. The world we live in today is so cruel that a
lot of times we don't even bother to dream anymore. We've gotten to the point where dreaming is just
that. A dream.
Yet, for my mom, that wasn't the case.

We began to think of how I could do both and came up with the idea of a singing lawyer. It was
probably the worst idea we've ever had. I don't even think it would have worked out well either, but
it was the fact that I could have done it and my mom would be completely okay with it and made it
seem perfectly normal that helped me to never quit on my dreams.
Her experience growing up wasn't at all how she made mine. Her mother and step father never

was never pushed to do better or told that her dreams could come true.
Since she was little she was always having to take care of her three sisters. She wasn't allowed to
go out a lot so she was always home studying or in her room. She was so restricted in her own home
that even now I can't imagine how terrible that must have felt. To constantly have to worry not only
about yourself but for other people when you haven't even reached puberty.
Her stepfather was the worst of all. He would always put her down and would try to make her feel
like nothing. She didn't even have protection from her own mother, because her mom would never
say anything about it. She just let it happen.

It began when we were assembled in the safety of the trench. Then we heard those dreaded words

Simon refused to stop. He climbed up again to help the others. I tried to tug him back but my

Now I'm standing here about to march on to fight in another war, fighting for my dear friend.
When will man kind learn? Now, however, I fear this time I might not be so lucky, especially now,

In a perfect world I would go home to just my mother, and wouldn 't have to worry about the hatred

With all these thoughts rushing through my head, I finally realize that I have been daydreaming so

I paused, and took one last look at myself in the mirror. My hair was scraped back, my polo necked
fleece was suffocating and itchy, my black ribbed jodhpurs were tight around my midriff, but there
was one thing missing. It was one thing which all the girls on the internet, in the movies, and in all
the equestrian magazines had – A gilet. Mine was a pink Abercrombie & Fitch one, with ribbed
salmon trims around the waistband and collar; it was not a real equestrian gilet,...show more content...
Although the smell of the manure was strong, over time I began to appreciate it, and so it became
more of an aroma, than an odour. But this is something my Dad never seemed to get used, to let
alone appreciate. The entire stable had a rather odd smell; it was a mixture of hay, cut grass, dust,
manure, and oddly, a hint of leather. This was a smell which I soon became very fond of.
There were six of us in the group, we were all new to Dulwhich Riding School and filled with
enthusiasm. After being handed our riding hats, we were alphabetically permitted to choose a horse,
and as always, I was last in the alphabet. I was left with a choice of two, one was a blue roan filly.
She was a young slate coloured horse who reminded me of Eeyore (from Winnie the Pooh), and
was also a lot smaller than the other horses. Then I saw the attractive sorrel coloured gelding, he
stood glaring at me with his head poking out of the barn gate. His mane was dark and silky, and he
had a striking white birthmark on the bridge of his nose. I had an instant connection with him, and
proclaimed his name as Cashmere.
As I lead Cashmere towards the indoor riding arena, my heart raced. The inconsistent sound hoofs
trotting along the cobbled ground were intensifying. As I stroked Cashmere's muzzle and gave him a
mint polo (he's favourites), I began to mentally prepared myself to mount, and ride him.
Cashmere was

Example Of Narrative Essay Scary Story
On a cold fall evening in the town of Dankfurt, Alaska with a small population of 73. There was a
boy named Derek. Derek was just an ordinary boy who attended the school of Winterfield which
was 10 miles away. He did this because his town had no school along with two other friends. Every
morning he and his friends would wake up at five–thirty to walk to school. Because of the Alaskan
time zones it was dark during the day and light at night. On their walk they would pass one house
and one house only which was in the heart of the woods. It was a dark brown house with white
curtains. The house was very old and looked to be falling apart. They assumed it was abandoned
and thought nothing of it. But every time Derek walked passed he would get a minor headache not

Many of the football players would hit or choke them for it. The boys could do nothing they were
scrawny and weak except for Joe he was fat. Joe stood up to the biggest kid this time saying "Buzz
of man." They replied with "In your dreams twinkie." Joe attacked him with "well that is why the
football team sucks!" "screw you man" said the bully and walked away. After their hellish days at
school the boys would head to the drama club. This is where they all fit in and thoroughly enjoyed
attending the meetings. They were at these meetings until six–thirty or sunrise in Alaska at the time.
The boys would stroll home and get back at about ten o'clock. They would do the same thing every
day.
Early one morning Derek's power went out and his alarm clock did not go off. The other boys
waited for him but he did not show up so they assumed he was sick and left without him. A few
hours later he woke up and realized he was late. He threw on his clothes and bolted out the door.
Because of Alaska's time zone it was pitch dark when he started his journey. But he carried on his

Overcoming My Fear of Fire Through Self-Reflection

  • 1. My Fear- Personal Narrative Essay My Fear– Personal Narrative Every child, teenager and adult has experienced anxiety, fear or worry at some time in their lives. Everyone has their own phobias. Some are just temporary whereas others just linger, haunting them forever. Life allows us each of us to experience challenges in our own way. But when these challenges become almost impossible to complete, they become long term problems. When faced with fear, one looks for the easiest route out, but in my case, there were no signposts. There is one part of my life that I vividly recall. I don't really know when or how it started. Maybe I'd had it all my life or maybe it developed at a certain age. Perhaps, that will remain an unsolved...show more content... I didn't know why this was happening and felt that I had no control over my thoughts or fears. By this stage, I would have persistent nightmares of my house burning down where everyone in the building would escape, with the exception of me. I remember how I felt after being awoken by the fear of death. It was a feeling of confusion and I didn't know why this was happening. My phobia totally disabled me and at the time I found it difficult to relax. I live alone with my mum and she was unaware of what I was secretly going through. At the time, I never really opened my eyes to the fact that I had a problem. I told myself that it was just a phase and that I was fine but deep down I think I always knew that this was untrue. Another habit of mine was counting syllables of words. Whenever I would see a shop sign I would count the syllables of the words written and would ensure that the number of syllables did not exceed sixteen (my favourite number). One evening, a friend of mine had visited my home for dinner and I could do nothing but worry about the food overcooking and causing a fire. It would not leave my mind and was all that I could think of. That is when I noticed that my actions were odd. I almost immediately logged on to the internet and searched for fire related obsessions. • 2. Example Of A Narrative Essay College A narrative essay is a story that is true and has meaning, whether it be to prove a point, send a message, explain an event that's happened, or entertain the reader. Most narrative essays are written to convey a story from a past time that sends a message to not only the reader, but the writer themselves. When planning a narrative essay, the first step is to identify the topic in which the writer wants to explain. There are multiple ways in which the you can come up with a topic, it all depends on the style you're most comfortable with. The next step is to write down all the main events that supports the topic you have chosen. What main events led up to the story you're trying to approach? What key events made what your topic is all about?...show more content... This event made a big impact on my life as it showed me the value of work ethic by showing me that hard work pays off. It also taught me to never give up and follow your heart. And lastly, it taught me the importance of a team to help me through the tough practices and mental battles. When choosing my topic, I wrote down 3 main events that were important in my life that impacted me and shaped myself into the person I am today. The 3 I chose were: breaking the 3200–meter record for my school, breaking the 4x800 record with my team, and lastly, moving from Poinciana to Kissimmee and leaving all my friends to take on a new chapter in my life. The topic I chose to write is one I feel very passionate about and the single memory I can recall the most. Although breaking the 4x800 record with my team was a memorable moment and the first record I'd ever broken at my school, nothing compared to the feeling I got when I broke an individual record that was held by my own coach. I had a sense of relief and happiness, not just for myself, but my coach as well. It felt as if I didn't just break the record for the sake of me personally, but for him too. May have taken 21 years to be broken, but I'd say it sure was worth Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. My Writing Experience Essay Writing has always been my most difficult part of English. Reading, on the other hand, is something I could do all day; however, with writing, I grimace just thinking about it. It was not that I did not have anything to say, because I actually have quite a bit to say. I just could never figure out how to phrase what I had to say in just right way on the page. My mom taught me to read and write at a young age. After that, I would devour any book that I could get my hands on. However, I have had trouble with writing since it became more than just my alphabet and numbers. In elementary, I got through assignments by making my projects read like a boring fact book. This way was awesome for a high grade, not so great for writing interesting...show more content... Mullins comments and said, "Next time, you will just have to change it up a bit." I asked her what she meant. My mom said, "Next time you will make it more fun, not so much like a timeline, and more like a true story about your subject." This was my first experience in writing for a grade. I learned a lot and I immediately applied to my future written assignments. I was in high school the first time I had to write a narrative. I was a freshman. This was Ms. Bradley's first time teaching at Union Christian Academy. On her first day, she gave us our syllabus and said, "I do not accept late work, especially on writing assignments." We, literally, sat there stunned. My freshman class had it very easy during eighth grade year. We were not expecting this. As I looked through the syllabus, I saw that our first assignment was due in a week and it was a narrative. At this time, I did not even know what a narrative was. Ms. Bradley explained that a narrative was an account or story of events. It could be either true or false. Our narrative had to be true. It had to be a true account of something that happened to us over the summer. She wanted to gauge how are writing skills were. Our narrative had to be at least two to two and a half pages long. I chose to write my first ever narrative on my trip to Fort Worth, Texas. Once again, I was plagued with writer's block. I had the story in my head, but everything I Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Narrative Essay Examples Narrative Essay I step my foot into public school for the first time ever my freshman year, not knowing a single person other than my brother. Prior to my freshman year, I was homeschooled. The school feels really big at the time and it's very overwhelming. As I walk around I see people hugging, reuniting, and saying, "oh my gosh I have missed you!" All I am worrying about is what people are thinking of me like, does she have any friends, or she looks like a loner. I am getting nervous and more nervous every second that passes. I decide I need to go straight to my classroom, but I have no idea where to go. I finally make my way to my classroom, then I sit down, and the bell rings. "The day is just beginning," I think to myself....show more content... I am halfway through the day. After this long day it's still not over yet, I am just half way through the day going into 5th period. As I walked in I see a girl I already met and I wanted to run and give her a hug, I was so excited to see someone I already knew. I didn't have to worry where I was going to sit that period, or who I was going to talk to. I probably looked like the happiest person in the world with a big smile on my face. As I am smiling as I say, "hello, Claire right?" She says, "Yes!" We sit together, exchange social media usernames, and numbers. Later, I go to 6th period, my science class. When we come in the teacher says to talk with people to sit in alphabetical order. I am placed next to a kid named Dominic Thomas, and his buddy is sitting on the other side of me. They were acting like I didn't exist, and getting in my personal space. Later, the teacher says, "The person sitting at your table will be your lab partner." That's when I found out Dominic Thomas will be my lab partner for the quarter. I did not know what was coming for me. Finally, 7th period here I come. Now this class was one crazy class, with some crazy people, but it was all good because I get to leave after this period. The bell rings and I am out of there. Leaving school I am feeling many emotions, I am happy to leave, excited to tell my mom about all I experienced that day, Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Leadership Role and Style: Personal Narrative During my past employment, I had the chance to exercise leadership roles, managing a group of three, and train new employees. One way to motivate them was to let them leave early on the last working day of the week. I also empowered them by providing them some consulting work, which they felt that it was shown to the client as their own work in order for them to feel that they were part of the team and have a sense they belong to the organization. Therefore, this behavioral approach that I exercised would be considered as Employee–centered Leadership. This is because I focused on the people doing the work, while delegating decision making, and satisfying employee needs, which created a creative a supportive work environment (Rama). From there, I also sat with each one alone and try to figure out the goals and objectives that he or she wanted, which was either in the organization or educational wise while developing ideas on how to accomplish their goals. Therefore, as an Employee–centered leader, I was responsible for others and being a team player as well. As a leader, I feel that working in a group or team is a must to see progress within the company. In order to see progress within the company, working together as a team is very important. When the employees see the leader working with as a team, they feel more motivated to work. They feel equally as important as the leader. By enhancing this equality, a team will create a concept that suits the diverse needs of the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Essay on Sports Narrative Tyler Douglas Professor Thamm Eng 101–10:00 a.m. Due: Sep. 29, 2008 Essay #1 Narrative A major role in my life would definitely be sports. It is almost as if I look up to sports because I could not live without them. Sports pretty much define me as me. I love to play sports as well as watch all kinds of sports on T.V. and if I could ever go to a game and watch the players play live I would be thrilled. Basically sports define me because I am ambitious, I finish what I start, I set goals for myself, and I am a fierce competitor in which I love to win and I hate to lose. The greatest part about sports to me is living for the moment when the game is on the line and the pressure is on can you come through and make a play for your...show more content... With the game tied 6–6 that is when I went into my own little zone and was in my moment. The crowed was electrified and cheering us on. I thought about all the hard work the coaches put us through doing two a days and keeping us late after a hard practice, spending all of that time and hard work just for this one little moment when the game was on the line. Back to reality our quarterback had started the play and it looked like it was going nowhere and we might have to got into overtime. Then after about 6 crazy seconds he threw the ball to our halfback and he broke a couple tackles and the somehow stretched across the goal line by about 2 inches and we had taken the lead 8–6 with 52 seconds to go. When the game clock hit 00:00 for the first time in our schools history the football team had beaten Aberdeen and none of us could believe it. This was a special moment. Now, it was in this moment when I had realized that sports define me as me because we never gave up, none of us wanted to lose, we set a goal and completed it, but most important we kept our eye on the prize and came through in the moment when the game was on the line. Nobody is going to remember how many games we won or who the best player on the team was that season, but I guarantee what people will remember is when we had beaten Aberdeen for the first time in school Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Example Of Narrative Writing High School "STAND BY!" I yell the first words of the morning as the lights flick on and bodies fly out of bed. It's 0630 in the North West side, upstairs barracks of building 835 at Camp San Luis Obispo, and I'm waking up 14 of the best people I'll ever meet. There's frantic shuffling, and immediate silence after everyone's out of bed, feet flush with the corner of the bedpost staring straight ahead, not moving an inch. "You've got 5 minutes to get ready for PT. MOVE!" The stillness is broken and the chaos continues as everyone rushes to grab their toiletries. I was in their place exactly a year ago, and now it's my turn to give back to the Cadet Training Group. I'm not anything special here, only a teacher for the next generation in a 40 year tradition. • 8. Narrative Essay About Summer Vacation Summer Vacation Do you know the reason why we have summer vacation? I believe that summer vacation is not just about sleeping in and appreciating the time off, it includes spending time with your close friends and family, and that is exactly what I did this summer break. There were many fascinating things I did this summer and in this essay I will tell you a few of things I enjoyed doing. Spending time with close relatives and is exactly what I did to kickoff my summer even though massive amount of them lived out of the state Indiana going to Seattle, Mexico, Texas, and Virginia. For that rest of the day we went to a restaurant called Puckett's and apparently it is right down the road from Justin Timberlake's recording studio/private house, All of the kids including me went to his front and touched his door knob and I might of took a sneak peek inside his house. The last day we were there we visited a beautiful waterfall, even though it was a lovely site the water part was very deadly. The reason why it was deadly was there were big boulders everywhere you stepped, and there were water moccasins which are venomous snakes that lurked around in the water. When it was time to live the waterfall a water moccasin was about 20 feet in front of me and my friends, thankfully another guy ran into the water scaring the snake away making it safe for me and my buddies to get out. Honestly out of the whole entire summer this had to be my favorite vacation. This next vacation isn't really a vacation it's more of an event but it was fun, hilarious, and relaxing like a vacation. After Tennessee we went seven days later we went to Detroit, Michigan for this thing called a muck fest. A muck fest is 5k with muddy obstacles that you run into on your way to the finish line. The race only lasted 2 hours for my mom, dad, and other family members to finish. The best part was when I was able to do the last three obstacles and get Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. Literacy Narrative Essay example At this point in my life I find myself in an interesting predicament regarding my attitudes toward reading and writing; more so towards reading. Years ago I used to love reading books for pleasure but nowadays I find myself reading things that little to no effort to digest. This includes the very basic posts on facebook expressing one's opinion on something or articles and threads on reddit discussing topics I find intriguing. Perhaps it's the severe senioritis that has overcome me as I enter my last semester at Chapman University. As I've gotten lazier I can see it start to reflect in my everyday life. Deep down I still love to read but I rarely find myself getting truly invested into the action unless it relates to something I am very...show more content... You can feed the mind as much as you want and it will never get full of reading. Sadly, I'm not the same person that I was. I guess you could say it's part of growing up. It never really was intentional but it's just the way how it ended up. On the other hand my attitudes toward writing are very different. First let me say that deep down I truly do not like to write. I myself don't personally like to write for leisure or pleasure but rather I write because I believe it is one of the most important aspects of being able to communicate with those around you, both personally and professionally. To put differently, my attitude towards writing is that I write because I need to write and survive in the world around me. I write because I have to, not because I want to. Hopefully this somewhat makes sense. To better explain let me make a comparison. When I am assigned a writing assignment or I am writing because the action is being forced upon me I find myself not enjoying the process and overall the end result is subpar. The perfect example of this would be my junior year in high school when I was enrolled in AP english literature. I dreaded the majority of the class simply because there was so much writing involved in the entire course and therefore I was constantly writing just to get a grade. Being forced to write in such high volume every week for an entire school year was not enjoyable for myself and as a result the Get more content on HelpWriting.net

I was bored with blogging and all the gimmicks that you had to do in order to be good at it. This concept did not work for me. I wanted something that inspired creativity in me and in others. So I started experimenting with posting cartoons, pop culture artwork, internet memes, and videos. Not only was I having fun, I was learning to curate content. Another door that was opened was partnering with artists who were animators, cartoonists, and illustrators. My friend Tim Engstrom created a custom artwork for the header and the sidebar. It wasn't long before my clients, friends, and family were reading the blog. What I learned was that this project was more than inspiration, Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 12. Narrative Essay About Having A Dream Everyone has a dream. Whether it's small or big...we all have one. We also give up on them. We get stuck in the idea that our ideas are too far–fetched either because of other people's comments or because of our own self–doubt. We allow ourselves to forget about them and move on to things we believe are better for us. To things that although don't make us happy, are what society tells us is the right way to live. It's hard to have a dream and keep it. The world we live in today is so cruel that a lot of times we don't even bother to dream anymore. We've gotten to the point where dreaming is just that. A dream. Yet, for my mom, that wasn't the case. My mother was born on March 24, 1973, in a small village in Guatemala. She grew up there...show more content... She sat me down and said well why not do both. I remember when she said that I was so happy. We began to think of how I could do both and came up with the idea of a singing lawyer. It was probably the worst idea we've ever had. I don't even think it would have worked out well either, but it was the fact that I could have done it and my mom would be completely okay with it and made it seem perfectly normal that helped me to never quit on my dreams. Her experience growing up wasn't at all how she made mine. Her mother and step father never encouraged or supported her. Growing up my mother struggled a lot. She had to grow up a lot faster than most kids and had to deal with the real world way before she should have had to. She was never pushed to do better or told that her dreams could come true. Since she was little she was always having to take care of her three sisters. She wasn't allowed to go out a lot so she was always home studying or in her room. She was so restricted in her own home that even now I can't imagine how terrible that must have felt. To constantly have to worry not only about yourself but for other people when you haven't even reached puberty. Her stepfather was the worst of all. He would always put her down and would try to make her feel like nothing. She didn't even have protection from her own mother, because her mom would never say anything about it. She just let it happen. My mom Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 14. Narrative Essay Examples Narrative Essay As times goes on you, realize life isn't all it seems to be. You learn life lessons and certain life events teach you things that can lead to you improving yourself as a person. As you realize most things in life are provided to you, you never truly realize how much everything can mean. As teenagers most of us are immature and do not realize how easy it is for us to lose everything we have. As we could lose everything and anything in a matter of seconds if we are not careful. It was another typical Monday morning, I had that same feeling I always do when I wake up, dreadly having to get up, use the bathroom, and brush my teeth and get ready for school. It is the same process throughout the whole week until Friday....show more content... The next week was a breeze and it comes down to the night before I had already packed all my stuff that night I was told of the trip. Next morning I woke up bright and early ate breakfast and we headed to the airport. The next few hours were mostly just traveling typical airplane food, only thing that was interesting about the travel was the fact that during one of flights I was sat beside a drunk idiot and then got moved up a few seats and got 3 seats all to myself! When we finally landed in Pakistan it did not look anything different than in Canada. I thought "oh well maybe it looks the same, and is the same" because personally I didn't know much about this place other than the fact I had family here. When we got all our stuff and headed out in a car I noticed nothing different but that might have been due to the fact I was kind of fatigued and the fact we were in a bigger city. On the travel to my cousins I fell asleep, and didn't get woken up until we reached their house. When I got out of the car I was too tired and was way to jetlagged to realize how different things were so I went straight into the house and went back to bed. I mostly slept for the whole first day. As I woke up by my family, they invited me to go out and try out some of the local foods as everything here was very fresh down to Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 15. War Story- Personal Narrative Essay War Story– Personal Narrative Finally we got a well deserved break from what seemed like our endless marching. As we stopped pain shot up my left leg like a bullet. I looked automatically to my right. Nobody was there. My best friend Simon would usually stand there, as he had in the war before, I could imagine the grin on his face. The images of all those years ago started to play in my mind... It began when we were assembled in the safety of the trench. Then we heard those dreaded words that can make a man throw up with fear for his life. "Go! Over the top men, go!" I froze, not breathing, not even blinking I was paralysed, standing there motionless, my legs as solid as...show more content... Then, turning my head again I saw Simon dive to my aid. He did not utter a single word but just gave a faint grin then promptly looked down at my leg and set to work. He freed me and with a little help I made it to the safety of the next shell hole. I owed him my life. Simon refused to stop. He climbed up again to help the others. I tried to tug him back but my efforts were worthless; seen as I was wounded. Gun shots and shell fire pounded my ears like a right hand from a heavy weight boxer. I will never forget the next sound I heard. I knew it was the end so I looked up at the morning sun and prayed towards the heavens. I could hear the screams penetrating throughout my mind. Now I'm standing here about to march on to fight in another war, fighting for my dear friend. When will man kind learn? Now, however, I fear this time I might not be so lucky, especially now, without Simon, who I did not even get a chance to thank for saving my life. Now I try to put the thoughts out of my mind with a tear in my eye turning away from the other soldiers so they cannot see. I can see a large church in front of me and can hear the sounds of children playing. I begin to think about the contrast. The young, blameless children playing happily with each other only a short distance away from where us, the adults are contemplating what lies ahead hideously slaughtering the Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 17. Example Of Literacy Narrative A literacy narrative is something that a author writes in first–person that has to do with a experience that the author has had throughout his or her life, with that experience having to do with writing or reading something. Freshman year in high school I decided to take American Sign Language which not only involves learning how to move your hands the correct way, or learning how to shape your hands, it also entailed learning ASL gloss which was kind of tricky. When learning ASL gloss I had learn how to read the gloss and understand what it actually meant. I also had to learn how to write the gloss, this skill became important junior year when I had to translate song lyrics to ASL gloss. • 18. Descriptive Essay About My Morning This morning I woke up, the same as everyday stretching my legs off my bed and onto the floor, my arms raised up grazing the ceiling. As any other day, I got out of bed and waltzed into the kitchen where I could smell the aroma of coffee being freshly brewed. My mother was up, bright and early fixing breakfast for my father who leaves everyday for work promptly at 7:00am. I am not a morning person, but today the smell of that coffee woke me with ease. If this were any other day, I wouldn 't have woken so easily. For some reason this day didn 't really feel like every other day. My mother, and I have a decent relationship. You could say we have a normal mother daughter relationship comparable to anyone else. We go shopping, to...show more content... I walk to school alone everyday, and that is okay with me because I enjoy the peace, and quite. As I walk I think about how I can't wait to get to school, but I also think about how when I get to school I know that every minute that passes is a minute closer to me being back at home. It is a shame that I think this way. It's a shame because I love my mother, and my father ruins that for me. In a perfect world I would go home to just my mother, and wouldn 't have to worry about the hatred that my father endures towards my family, and for no reason at that. With all these thoughts rushing through my head, I finally realize that I have been daydreaming so long that I am no longer walking, but I am at a halt in front of the main entrance of my high school. I say to myself aloud, "If I go in that means I am roughly eight hours from being back at home." Instead of entering the school I immediately turn around to walk back to my house. Nobody is there during the day so that means I can actually enjoy being home without the worry of anyone belittling myself or my mother. My walking now turns into a light jog, as for once I am excited about the idea of being home. Finally I am approaching the driveway to my house where I see a strange car parked in front of the garage door. The car appeared to be an old van painted in a dark matte greenish color. The wheels looked worn as if they have maybe been changed once in the cars lifetime, and the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 19. Narrative: a Memorable Event. Essay Narrative: A memorable event. I woke to my body jittering with anxiety. It was 7 o'clock on a Saturday morning, and it was the day that I had been awaiting for. I was almost ready when my Dad shouted '' Ya betta get ya'self moving Kertesha, we're gonna be late!''. I paused, and took one last look at myself in the mirror. My hair was scraped back, my polo necked fleece was suffocating and itchy, my black ribbed jodhpurs were tight around my midriff, but there was one thing missing. It was one thing which all the girls on the internet, in the movies, and in all the equestrian magazines had – A gilet. Mine was a pink Abercrombie & Fitch one, with ribbed salmon trims around the waistband and collar; it was not a real equestrian gilet,...show more content... Although the smell of the manure was strong, over time I began to appreciate it, and so it became more of an aroma, than an odour. But this is something my Dad never seemed to get used, to let alone appreciate. The entire stable had a rather odd smell; it was a mixture of hay, cut grass, dust, manure, and oddly, a hint of leather. This was a smell which I soon became very fond of. There were six of us in the group, we were all new to Dulwhich Riding School and filled with enthusiasm. After being handed our riding hats, we were alphabetically permitted to choose a horse, and as always, I was last in the alphabet. I was left with a choice of two, one was a blue roan filly. She was a young slate coloured horse who reminded me of Eeyore (from Winnie the Pooh), and was also a lot smaller than the other horses. Then I saw the attractive sorrel coloured gelding, he stood glaring at me with his head poking out of the barn gate. His mane was dark and silky, and he had a striking white birthmark on the bridge of his nose. I had an instant connection with him, and proclaimed his name as Cashmere. As I lead Cashmere towards the indoor riding arena, my heart raced. The inconsistent sound hoofs trotting along the cobbled ground were intensifying. As I stroked Cashmere's muzzle and gave him a mint polo (he's favourites), I began to mentally prepared myself to mount, and ride him. Cashmere was Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Derek was just an ordinary boy who attended the school of Winterfield which was 10 miles away. He did this because his town had no school along with two other friends. Every morning he and his friends would wake up at five–thirty to walk to school. Because of the Alaskan time zones it was dark during the day and light at night. On their walk they would pass one house and one house only which was in the heart of the woods. It was a dark brown house with white curtains. The house was very old and looked to be falling apart. They were at these meetings until six–thirty or sunrise in Alaska at the time. The boys would stroll home and get back at about ten o'clock. They would do the same thing every day. Early one morning Derek's power went out and his alarm clock did not go off. The other boys waited for him but he did not show up so they assumed he was sick and left without him.
