Consumerism Is Justified By Kant, Singer, And Aristotle
Today's consumerism can be ethically justified using Kant, Singer, and Aristotle; however, people still should donate
money to charity. Utilitarian's, like Signer, believe that people should do everything they can to maximized the
happiness of all people. To them, buying everything in sight is ethically wrong because the money could be better spent
on helping others. Using Kant and Aristotle, it can be shown that buying lots of items, like in today's society, can be
ethically justified. When Aristotle discusses his views of ethics in "Virtue Ethics", he shows that having just the right
about of something is virtuous. For example, there is virtue in being brave, but if one is too brave it is a vise. Just as
being too cowardly is also a vise. The virtue of bravery lies somewhere in the middle of cowardice and brashness. The
same can be said of today's consumerism. While buying everything and hoarding money is a vice so is giving away too
much money to the point that one cannot live. There must be a middle ground in helping others, or else the giver risks
turning his virtue into a vice. People can spend money on the things that they wish to spend money on; yet, it is
important to note that they should still be giving money to charity. If they fail to do so, they become gluttons and are no
longer ethically sound. Same can be said of the people that give away too much money and cannot provide for
themselves. They have turned their virtue into the vise of recklessness with

Hrsthouse Virtue Theory And Abortion Summary
Hurthouse Reading Summary
Virtue Theory, following the guidelines of what a virtuous agent would do.What are the guidelines and what does it
even mean? In "Virtue Theory and Abortion", written by Hursthouse the author elaborates on how virtue theory a
concept that is becoming well aware against deontological and utilitarian theories. The essay is divided into two parts.
In the first part Hursthouse presents these theories, and then argues seven criticisms towards the virtue theory. In the
second part of the essay, the author expands the understanding of virtue theory by applying it to a moral issue, abortion.
Hursthouse, states she is not going to unravel the conflict of abortion, rather implement the virtue theory and how it will
guide us on the way we view abortion.
Hursthouse presents an outline of these ethical approaches. First, deontology premise one the action is right if it follows
the guideline of a "moral rule or principle", and premise two a correct moral is either "required by rationality" or the
"rational acceptance from behind the veil of ignorance and so on...". Then she presents act–utilitarianism, premise one
the action is correct if it comes out with the best outcome, and premise two if the best outcomes presents that
"happiness is maximized". Finally, the author presents virtue theory. Virtue theory, the action is correct "if it is what a
virtuous agent what do in the circumstances". She then explains what a virtuous person is, and discusses how a virtuous

Essay Realizing the Difference between a Want and a Need
A dress... Shoes... Underwear... Seeing this list made me want to cry. Unlike in other years, there wasn't a single toy on
any of the lists. Underwear... Really? Underwear shouldn't be on a three year old girl's Christmas list. When I looked at
this list, I realized I don't need anything at all. The latest trends and technology seem so frivolous when put into
comparison. When one realizes the difference between needs and wants, one transforms into an adult. By realizing the
greater needs of others, one is able to put herself aside and dedicate her life to serving others. This Christmas season,
National Honors Society held a coat drive. I was amazed at how many coats were brought in to provide for the needy
families at the Community ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She said, "A need is something you cannot survive without." There are multiple parents that are surviving and
supporting families without a college education. As of 2011, only "three out of 10 adult Americans held bachelor's
degrees" (Vise). And that was setting a record high (Vise). My list of wants greatly outnumbered my needs, and I was
amazed to see just how blessed I am. How blessed I am to live in the United States of America where I have freedoms
that soldiers have fought and died for. How blessed I am to live in a family with both a mother and a father. In 2009,
there was "approximately 13.7 million single parents in the United States..., and those parents are responsible for
raising 22 million children,...26% of children under 21 in the U.S." (Wolf). How blessed I am to have food on the table
every night. The United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization estimates that nearly 870 million people of the 7.1
billion people in the world, or one in eight, were suffering from chronic undernourishment in 2010–2012 (2013
Worl...).
I don't have all these blessings just because I got lucky. I believe part of becoming an adult is learning from the blessed
life in which one lives. From a blessed life, one can humble herself and see what it is like to be in someone else's shoes.
Then, help those people. Help can come in various ways: money, a smile, listening to them, giving a hand, etc. Within
all the bad, depressing news I was able to read a story about a

Personification In The Life River
"The Life River" was written to allow readers to understand the difficulties of life and how this Poem explains how
people feel and act when things continuously doesn't go they way it was supposed to, or when something bad happens
over and over again. The people eventually turn to their last source of secretary to escape. Their mind. In "The Life

deal with it is to face the fact and go with the flow. The simile of the vise reflects how tight life can make our situations.

Application of Biometrics Science beyond Home Security
1.1 Background
Biometrics science is automatic techniques of identifying a human being based on either a behavior vise or physic vise
characteristic. Biometric technologies are of many kind such as dynamic signature verification,/iris scanning, DNA
recognition, face–shape identification, voice recognition and fingerprint validation. Biometric identification is more
powerful to lower technology identification techniques in common use today – likely passwords, key, cards, tokens,
PIN numbers and smart cards.
In exisisting system PINs (personal identification numbers) were one of the first identifiers object to offer automated
identification. Although, this means of identification of the PIN, not necessarily recognition of the person who has
entered it. The same thing can be applied with cards and other tokens.
The token is the easiest way to recognize the person but the problem with this technology is that it can be present by
anybody, i.e. we cannot be sure that token is provided by authentic person only. So, we can say the primary use of
physical objects or behaviors based on memory has a large set of problems and limitations. The other problems with
objects are often lost or stolen and a behavior based on memory is easily forgotten. Even Identity cannot be guaranteed,
privacy cannot assume and inappropriate use cannot be assured or denied.
Biometrics science is expected to be emerged in solutions such as to provide for Home Security which also including

Early Christian Religion Research Paper
'The early Christian church made no distinction between sin and suffering, and repentance and healing." (p. 34) The
Scripture equates sickness with unclean spirits and demonic activity. Early Christians understood the relationship
between sin and sickness and acted accordingly (see James 5:14,15). Jesus taught the disciples the relationship between
sin and sickness. In the early church repentance and healing went hand–in–hand. Unfortunately, in today's church the
first call of a sick Christian is to their doctor or hospital. We have turned to the secular world for a healing, which they
cannot offer. Satan's footprint is everywhere in the medical field. I am reminded of a Scripture, which says that man is

How Did The Tanzimat Influence Arab Elites
Furthermore, when the Tanzimat came in the 18th century to reform the administration and bureaucracy of the empire
among other things, many of its policies managed to further include Arab elites within the Ottoman system in several
provinces, while attempting to reduce the decentralized nature of Ottoman control over Arab provinces. The system of
iltizam has been long gone by this time, yet the power and influence of Arab elites did not disappear with it. The
tanzimat, which granted Arabs citizenship rights brought mutual support from some Arab elites to the empire and vise
versa as the elites detached themselves from those who called for further decentralization, and the Ottomans allowed
Arabs to be part of the empire's administration, while the majority of Arab elites opposed it.

Ng and Lake began a series of crimes; abduction, rape, and rape which all occurred in Lake's cabin in Calaveras
County, California. Altogether there was bodies of seven men, three women, two baby boys and at least 45 pounds of
bone fragments was recovered from the ground by Lake's cabin site. They killed the men and the babies immediately,
and then they kept the women alive and repeatedly abused them. They videotaped themselves raping and abusing the
woman until they killed them. It was believed that Ng and Lake murdered 11 to 25 people in that cabin. Their rampage
could have lasted alot longer if it wasn't for Ng's addiction to stealing. Ng had stolen a vise from a hardware store and
fled the scene. Lake then returned to the hardware store and tried to pay for the vise. But by then the police were

Pvc Fence
Wild and domestic animals can be a huge problem for your backyard garden. They dig up the earth, eat the plants, and
destroy crops. Fortunately, you can keep out pests by building a simple fence around your garden.
If you're on a budget, a simple PVC fence is an affordable and effective solution for keeping garden pests at bay. So
how do you build one?
Gather Your Materials
Like any DIY project, it important to first gather your materials. For this project, you will need:
PVC Pipe (2–inch pipe should suffice)
Hacksaw
Vise
Gloves
Sandpaper
Elbow Joints
PVC Glue
Chicken Wire
Wire Cutters
Thick Rope
Zip Ties
Paper Towels
Once you have all of your materials, take them to your work area and organize them. Finally, begin the project. ... Show

Determine the height. Start by determining how tall your fence will need to be. If you need to keep out rabbits and
small animals, 2–feet should suffice. If you need to keep out larger animals, 4–feet should suffice. Whatever height you
choose, this will be how tall your PVC pipes will be.
2. Clamp and saw. Using the vise, clamp your PVC pipe into place and cut it with the hacksaw. Remember to use the
measurements above as a reference.
3. Sand the ends. When all PVC pipes are cut to desired length, sand them with sandpaper until smooth.
4. Apply the glue. Brush the ends of the PVC pipe with a thin layer of glue. Also apply the glue to the PVC elbow
joints.
5. Connect the pipes. Carefully insert the sanded and glued pipes into the elbow joints.
6. Remove excess glue. If any glue oozes out of the joints, wipe it away with a clean paper towel.
7. Let dry. Let the glue dry completely. This may take anywhere from 1–hour to 12–hours, depending on how much
glue was

Reflection Assignment On Gunsmiths
In this week's reflection assignment, I, watched a video on Gunsmithing tools. As a future Gunsmith, I, will need to
either; install or disassemble weapon parts, carry out repairs, design parts or alter a weapon in some way to make it
operational. Besides conducting repairs and modifications, I, may also customize a weapon through decorative artwork
such as; checkering, staining or making wood carving designs. When handling any weapon, we must always ensure that
the firearm is safe and cleared before altering or fixing parts. When conducting any work either on weapons or for
weapons, I, always keep every tool in front of me on my table in sections.
As a future Gunsmith, although, I, will be primarily focused on creating under a Minute of Angle (M.O.A) Sniper
ammunition; I, will still need basic hand tools. Basic Gunsmithing hand tools like; vises, hammers, punches; a
screwdriver set, Torx wrench, bench block, pliers and files will all prove to be invaluable in a workshop and will
immediately pay for itself. In this profession, it's essential to have precise measurements and attention to detail. Not all
tools are immediately needed to become a Gunsmith, as some people in this profession may function on the level of a;
weekend hobbyist, semi–professional from home or even a professional at a gun range. In my opinion and experience,
the main goal of tool selection should be to; select only the tools needed but of very good quality.
Frustration comes when working on a weapon and having a cheap tool fail or worse damage the part. Regardless of the
Gunsmith's experience level a person has, extra care of all items is needed to convey our workmanship. Our
workmanship will eventually travel by word of mouth and achieve good or bad results due to the level of quality and
effort put into even the smallest part. When inspecting or repairing any firearm, no bench or shop is complete without
the vise. The vise is a tool the allows the Gunsmith to use both hands to repair or assemble parts by securing the
weapon in padded jaws.
The jaws of the vise should be padded with leather or a protective cloth, as this will protect the weapons finish and uses
a clamp for portability. To fit; butt–plates, taper–pins and free choke

The assigned video presentation for this week of the course is titled "Gunsmithing: How to fix a curved metal plate to a

that from watching previous videos, the presenter is the founder, and CEO of Midway USA. The first video shows the
presenter secure the stock in a vise. This seems to be the preferred method while performing any task with firearms. It
allows the hands to be free, and also secure the work piece. Prior to beginning work on the buttstock, he checks the fit
of the curved metal plate to the end of the stock. f course this is not the final it, but it gives a good general idea of just
what needs to be done in order to accomplish this task. You must ensure that the stock is knot free, and well rounded

It features the same presenter as the first video. For this video he will be using a William Cashmore side by side
shotgun. He will be replacing the recoil pad from the rear, and it will be vented. Again, the stock is secured in a vise.
Once the old recoil pad is removed, he secures wooden dowels in the holes. He taps them into place, to prevent air
pockets from pushing them out later. When it is dry, he trues the surface with a file, and grinder. He tries on the new
recoil pad, and marks his holes where he'll secure it. He matches he surfaces with a square. He cuts leather, matching
the dimensions to the new recoil plate. When he cuts the leather, he uses oil to prevent inadvertent damage from
occurring. The recoil pad is smoothed to fit the leather, and the logo is grinded off. The excess leather is trimmed, and
cut away. Epoxy is used to secure the back to itself, and you must ensure it is smooth (or it will show). The pad is
replaced, and the plugs cover where the screws would show. This gives a professional, and clean

Compare And Contrast Gerty In The Lamplighter
"True looked at Gerty in perfect wonder and distress. He knew nothing about children, and was astonished at her
simplicity. He could not leave her there, such a cold night; but he hardly knew what he could do with her if he took her
home, for he lived alone, and was poor. But another violent coughing spell decided him at once to share with her his
shelter, fire and food, for one night, at least. So he took her by the hand, saying 'Come with me;' and Gerty ran along
confidently by his side, never asking whither." Gerty and True's relationship is one unlike any other in the book The
Lamplighter. Gerty went through many torturous foster homes in her life. Her previous foster parents were all
despicable. Eventually, Gerty is brought to home with a woman named Nan Grant. The only good thing about this
home is that every night a man would come around and light the lamps along the sidewalks. Gerty always looked
forward to seeing the lamplighter come by. They first spoke to each other when Gerty came running back to the house
with milk and tripped, resulting in the milk spilling everywhere. True, the lamplighter, was taken aback by Gerty's
appearance but then said, kindly "She won't be hard on such a mite of a thing as you are, will she? Cheer up, my ducky!
Never mind if she does scold you a little. I'll bring you something, tomorrow, that I think you'll like, may be; you're

Fta 215 Word Journal
In this short paper I will go over my thoughts on this week's assigned course reading. This week we were instructed to
read Chapter Four of the FTA 215 course text. This chapter covered Tools, Maintenance, and Repair of the AR–15
platform rifle.
In the beginning of this chapter it was explained to us that "Whether you are just interested in performing maintenance
on your AR–15–style rifle, or want to build one from components, you'll need some basic tools." At this point in the
game I probably wouldn't panic if I needed to work on my AR–10... but I definitely still need platform specific tools. I
can't wait to get AR–specific tools for our future build. The author then went on to explain to us that the basic list of
tools that we should have on hand to work on an AR–15 platform rifle are as follows Ball–peen hammer, Nylon/brass
hammer, Bit driver screwdriver, Torx bit set, Hex bit set, Flat head bits, Phillips head bits, Needle–nose pliers, Lower
receiver vise block, Upper receiver vise block set, and a Rifle bench block... as well as a few other tools. I already have
most of those things, but as stated before there are a few things I still need to acquire.

failure. Of course, you never want to discover a malfunction when you are depending on your firearm. One way to
prevent this is to perform a functions check prior to taking your AR–15 with you for use." As a former military man... I
can attest to the importance of frequent functions checks. I still do them religiously because I need to know my weapon

The current economic situation is terrible. In 2011, blacks made 66 cents for every dollar earned by whites, compared
to 55 cents for every dollar earned by whites in 1963. How do Black Americans break the poverty cycle? What caused
this? One suggestion says that under–resourced schools and mass incarceration drives this cycle. Both must be
eradicated, neither is adequate in itself. Schools in poor neighborhoods most of the time are inadequate to handle the
mission of educating the youth. On the other hand, a black student in a suburban school is six times more likely to
graduate on time and be college–ready than a black student in a segregated urban school. Five times as many Whites
are using drugs as African Americans, yet African Americans are sent to prison for drug offenses at 10 times the rate of
Whites. This is due to unfair drug laws, over policing and prosecutions in black neighborhoods and overenthusiastic
district attorneys. If America can find a way to improve educational attainment for black males and eliminate disparate
rates of incarceration for drug offences would begin to break the poverty cycle. The main characteristic of Latinos is,

Three Model Hydraulic Movements
We built three model hydraulic lifts using syringes with pistons of different areas and metal wall plates. The syringes
act as hydraulic cylinders.
First we built the model lifts, which involves attaching the top of another syringe's piston to the back of a metal plate
with epoxy and then connecting the master syringe to the slave syringe with tubing.
Every lift had a 12 cubic centimeter (cc) master hydraulic cylinder but each had one of three different other hydraulic
cylinders: 12 cc, 35 cc, and 60 cc.
You will use water as the hydraulic fluid.
Prepare the metal plates. The metal plates will hold the weights while the other piston will lift the plate and the weights.

it takes to fall with the 12 cc syringe. Start with a small weight and try increasingly heavy weights. Record all data in a

Record the weight of the material in your lab notebook
Make sure the master piston is pulled out all the way, so the piston is all the way down.
Set the materials on the plate. Smoothly depress the master piston, delivering all of the hydraulic fluid, or water, from
the master syringe to the other syringe. As the master piston is depressed, and the hydraulic fluid is delivered, the piston
and the metal plate will rise.
Pull the master piston back out all the way, fully lowering the other piston.
Increase the weight by about 100 grams until it falls.
You may find that with heavier weights, with the piston fully extended, the vise may start to tumble.

Graphic Design And Art And Design
Often times a painting has the same structure as a design. The details can be similar for both Graphic Design and Fine
Art. Paintings such as Son of Man by Magritte which has basics such as shadow, highlight, simple composition, and a
dull color palette. A design for Apple Laptops was created of a decal of Son of Man. This design also had shadow, light,
basic composition, and an achromatic color palette. The structure is the same, but one is created digitally and one is a
painting. The processes can also be very similar. Many artists use technology in their artwork. They use Adobe
Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator, programs for designers and use it to create their artwork. Artists such as Jeff Koons
who manipulates images on Photoshop, prints it and paints hyper realistic paintings from those images. The structure
and process for art and design can be very similar. Can an artist be a designer or vise versa? One argument that critics
make is that artists are just artists or that a designer is not an artist. However there are countless artists who are
designers and vise versa. One famous designer would be Eva Zeisel. Eva Zeisel is famous for creating a body of dinner
sets which she created after she was released in Russia. While imprisoned, Zeisel found inspiration in the curves of her
own body claiming it was the only art she had. Afterwards she created "useful" art which was her groundbreaking
design of minimalist dinnerware, (Eva Zeisel, groundbreaking designer, dies). Her

Hieroglyphics Research Paper
Hieroglyphics The ancient egyptians first started communicating through a system of writing called hieroglyphics.
Hieroglyphics were drawings or symbols that each represented a different thing such as an object or sound. The word
itself comes from two greek words meaning carvings. These greek words are hiero and glyphe. Hiero is the greek word
for holy, while glyphe is the greek word for writing. Therefore it directly translates to mean holy writing. The meanings
of different hieroglyphic drawings were declared by the rosetta stone a resource commonly used for learning languages.
This was the first of many writing systems for the ancient egyptians. The people who wrote the hieroglyphics were
called scribes. The scribes would often

Essay on Charles Ng
On June 2, 1985, Officer Daniel Wright, of the San Francisco Police Department, was dispatched to a lumberyard
where a shoplifting had just occurred. Upon arrival, a store employee informed the officer that an Asian man had
concealed a bench vice in his jacket and was seen placing it in the trunk of a 1980 Honda Prelude., and when the
employee attempted to question the man he quickly fled on foot. Officer Wright looked into the vehicle and discovered
a bag that contained a silenced handgun. At this point a bearded man approached the officer with a sales receipt
claiming that he had paid for the vice his friend had taken. Officer Wright questioned the bearded man after discovering
that he had someone else's drivers' license and the vehicle ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Lake's ex–wife had informed authorities of a very remote area where Lake and Ng had stayed. After confirming the
information, Police obtained a search warrant of the premises. When the warrant was executed more findings consisted,
of blood, bullet casings, and a room that had a bed rigged with restraints. Other items such as women's clothing, blood
soaked blankets, videos, and stolen equipment were also found. Police also searched a sophistically built bunker that
contained a library of videos, torturing instruments, and a holding cell. An incinerator was also located on the premises.
Police then leveled the bunker in an attempt to find human remains on the property. With all this evidence and
information investigators were left with one suspect who had taken his own life, and another who was at large. A nation
wide man hunt was issued on Charles Ng. The last of Charles Ng's whereabouts were that of him picking up his last pay
check, packing up important items such as ID's and pass ports and abandoning his apartment.
Far from California hiding in Calgary Canada, Charles Ng manages to elude authorities for thirty four days although his
affinity for shoplifting lead to his capture just as it had for Leonard Lake. On July 6, 1985, two security guards
approached Ng, who had just shoplifted grocery items, when the two guards challenged him, Ng produced a handgun. A

Is College Too Easy?
Everybody approaches their education at college differently, depending on what they want the end result to be. Some
students find higher education as a pathway to a high paying job when they graduate, while others believe that college
is a way to learn more about what interests them and to develop into a better person. There has been recent debate that
students are getting distracted from their learning by other extracurricular activities. According to "Is College too easy?
As study time falls, debate rises", a study shows that the average study time dropped from twenty four hours to just
fifteen hours (de Vise). This decrease has been causing people to wonder if college is becoming too easy, or if it is the
students that are doing something different. Study time has dropped due to a multitude of things, such as major and
activities outside of school. Studying is part of the learning process that every student goes through. Most learning
occurs outside of the classroom, such as in a dorm or the library. The teacher provides the information in hope that the
student will learn it themselves. The process of taking information and turning it into knowledge is called studying.
Students are supposed to study two hours for every one hour in class (de Vise). Scholars believe there are a variety of
reasons. Some scholars believe the reason that study time has dropped is due to the type of major. I agree with this
because every major requires a different amount of work.

The Process of Giving a Tattoo
Have you ever wondered how a person gives a tattoo? I have pondered this question for many years, ever since I got
my first tattoo. Even though tattoos are more common than they were years ago, tattooing is a process that is
complicated and a skilled art. The process of giving a tattoo can be very in depth and difficult to understand. For many
years, the process of giving a tattoo was only learned by proving one's self to a tattoo artist in hopes that they would
give you your own tattoo machine one day. Now that the art of tattooing has become so popular, it is more easily
learned. There are many different steps to follow in giving a tattoo. The first step is talk with the client about what
tattoo that they are interested in getting. After ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Once the foot cord and clip have been connected to the power supply, the artist will turn the power on to the power
supply, and test that they have a good connection to the machine. You will hear a buzzing sound when the machine is
turned on. The next step in giving a tattoo is deciding which needle will be used for what application. There are
different sizes of needles: liners, shaders, and mags. A liner tattoo needle has as few as one needle or as many as 14
needles in one needle (Element Tattoo Supply, 2008). A liner needle is used for the outline of a tattoo and small detail
work. A shader needle has anywhere from one up to 14 needles (Element Tattoo Supply, 2008), and is used for coloring
or shading a tattoo. A mag or magnum needle has five to 15 needles (Element Tattoo Supply, 2008) and is used for
larger tattoos. The artist may use a round shader needle to do color in a large tattoo, or use a mag, it is up to the artist on
what they like to use. The flat shader needle is a flat line of needles that is usually four or six needles. A mag needle is
like a flat shader, but there are more needles, and more rows of needles. An artist will use any sort of combination of
needles in a tattoo. It is up to the artist on what they prefer to use to what part of each tattoo. [Some tattoo artist will
order their needles from a different supplier than Element Tattoo Supply. Another supplier may offer more needles, up
to 39 needles.] Before setting up the tattoo machine, the

The story forces the reader into the current state of Google to explain to the reader the current prowess of the company.

The Purpose Of The Correctional System
Correctional systems are a network of agencies that administer a jurisdictions prisons and community–based programs
like parole and probation boards. These systems are also known as penal systems. The correctional systems include
police, prosecution and courts. Although the penal system is different all around the world the purpose of it is the same.
In the United States our correctional system has numerous similarities and differences compared to other countries.
When comparing our system with other country's, like France, it is obvious that we do things differently from what they
would. Even though they define crimes differently, and decide punishment in a different manor, France still expects to
achieve the same thing we wish to achieve,

Why Is Non Polar Bonds Important
Polar bonds and Nonpolar bonds are important because they make up many things that are necessary for human
survival. For example, water is a polar molecule and the air we breathe is a nonpolar molecule, both of which are vital
to human survival. Also, soap, which is both polar and nonpolar pushes the polar molecules to the top of the skin so the
water, which is also polar, can wash away the dirt or substance coating the hand. This leads into 'like dissolves like',
which is when polar bonds dissolve in polar bonds and nonpolar bonds dissolve in nonpolar bonds. Which is the reason
why, when items are being washed a person can not only use water, they have to use soap, because the dirt or grease is
a nonpolar bond and is not the same bond type

Adapting, Evolving, Adjusting Have you ever wondered why humans evolve and how important it is? Humans have
evolved in many different ways people have adjusted to climate change they have also gotten taller and smarter.
Adapting to an environment is crucial to the human race's survival ,because if they didn't they would die off. Humans
have evolved by losing their fur and gaining the ability to stand up strait. People probably lost their do to climate
change, and have gotten taller by somehow standing up strait. For example bald people are people who evolved a little
too much and lost their hair. Humans have adjusted to things like climate change and weather change. Humans have

Central Arguments In Health Psychology
As we grow and change physically, so do our psychological state permitting how the brain progresses during our youth
and moderates as we mature. One of the central arguments in health psychology is that "The mind and body are
inextricably intertwined." (71). The effects of the brain are realized throughout the bodies faculties and vise versa.
Consequently, how we feel, what we think, and how we perform are imitations of the brain. No one perspective is
superior to the others. Thus, biological systems and psychosocial functioning compliment one another. It helps to
understand that events reflected in health and/or illness are parallel to biological makeup. For instance, in times of
danger, the release of epinephrine and norepinephrine

Why I Love Football
Šta nas, šta mene, toliko privlači posmatranju igre dvadeset dvojice odraslih ljudi koji jure za kožnim mehurom? Zašto
toliko energije žrtvujemo u rasprave, sukobe, svađe u vezi sa tom neobičnom delatnošću? Pretpostavljam da ima više
odgovora.

bolje razumevao i smisao fudbala, i njegov značaj u mom životu. Kao dete, u mojim početcima, imao sam jedan cilj

Google: A Multibillion Dollar Business Empire
Google Introduction Google is a multibillion dollar business empire. It has experienced major growth over the years.
This growth has majorly been attributed to their advertising venture facilitated by other services like search engine,
various productivity tools such as Gmail and Google docs, and enterprise products such as Google Search Appliances
and Google Apps Premier Edition. Google's early success was from its ability to give people a search algorithm that

Egg Osmosis Lab Report
The movement of water into and out of a cell through the phospholipid bilayer is called osmosis. Since water is polar
and the phospholipids are nonpolar, water needs a special protein, and aquaporin, to assist its movement. When there is
a hypertonic solution outside the cell, it causes the water to move out of the cell, causing it to shrink. In a hypotonic
solution, however, the water will move into the cell causing it to enlarge. In this experiment, an egg with a dissolved
shell was placed into different solutions to demonstrate the movement of water through a membrane. First the egg was
placed in 200 mL of vinegar for 24 hours to dissolve the shell so the egg can represent a cell membrane. Then it was
placed in a hypertonic solution of corn

Gender Norms And Gender Roles
Are you being forced to be someone you don't want to? That is the general basis of gender norms, and how people are
policed to stay within their gender roles. Everyone is susceptible to being policed. Some may ask what are these gender
norms I speaking of? As parents raise their children the way they were raised they inflict gender norms that were
enforced during their childhood. The cycle then continues to the next generation and the next generation. Gender norms
are what society sets on how women and man's behavior in our world. For example a mother and her two kids a boy
and girl are strolling through Target and heading through the toys section. The girl is seen this cool Star Wars Lego sets
and sets her attention to obtaining it. She brings it back to the cart, and her mother say" lego are for boys, why don't you
pick something like a Minnie mouse toy since that for girls". And vise–versa for boys. Do you feel gender norms affect
human development? The essay " Bros Before Hos: The Guy Code" Michael Kimmel writes about what it means to be
a man and how it is policed. He calls these traits of being a man the Guy Code. He first covers the qualities boy live by
to be a man. He surveys hundreds of boys across the country. They say masculinity consist "First don't show emotions,
have a high status i.e having a successful career and making a nice amount of money." Also to take risks and not

Consumerism Is Justified By Kant, Singer, And Aristotle

  • 1. Consumerism Is Justified By Kant, Singer, And Aristotle Today's consumerism can be ethically justified using Kant, Singer, and Aristotle; however, people still should donate money to charity. Utilitarian's, like Signer, believe that people should do everything they can to maximized the happiness of all people. To them, buying everything in sight is ethically wrong because the money could be better spent on helping others. Using Kant and Aristotle, it can be shown that buying lots of items, like in today's society, can be ethically justified. When Aristotle discusses his views of ethics in "Virtue Ethics", he shows that having just the right about of something is virtuous. For example, there is virtue in being brave, but if one is too brave it is a vise. Just as being too cowardly is also a vise. The virtue of bravery lies somewhere in the middle of cowardice and brashness. The same can be said of today's consumerism. While buying everything and hoarding money is a vice so is giving away too much money to the point that one cannot live. There must be a middle ground in helping others, or else the giver risks turning his virtue into a vice. People can spend money on the things that they wish to spend money on; yet, it is important to note that they should still be giving money to charity. If they fail to do so, they become gluttons and are no longer ethically sound. Same can be said of the people that give away too much money and cannot provide for themselves. They have turned their virtue into the vise of recklessness with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 3. Hrsthouse Virtue Theory And Abortion Summary Hurthouse Reading Summary Virtue Theory, following the guidelines of what a virtuous agent would do.What are the guidelines and what does it even mean? In "Virtue Theory and Abortion", written by Hursthouse the author elaborates on how virtue theory a concept that is becoming well aware against deontological and utilitarian theories. The essay is divided into two parts. In the first part Hursthouse presents these theories, and then argues seven criticisms towards the virtue theory. In the second part of the essay, the author expands the understanding of virtue theory by applying it to a moral issue, abortion. Hursthouse, states she is not going to unravel the conflict of abortion, rather implement the virtue theory and how it will guide us on the way we view abortion. Hursthouse presents an outline of these ethical approaches. First, deontology premise one the action is right if it follows the guideline of a "moral rule or principle", and premise two a correct moral is either "required by rationality" or the "rational acceptance from behind the veil of ignorance and so on...". Then she presents act–utilitarianism, premise one the action is correct if it comes out with the best outcome, and premise two if the best outcomes presents that "happiness is maximized". Finally, the author presents virtue theory. Virtue theory, the action is correct "if it is what a virtuous agent what do in the circumstances". She then explains what a virtuous person is, and discusses how a virtuous ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Essay Realizing the Difference between a Want and a Need A dress... Shoes... Underwear... Seeing this list made me want to cry. Unlike in other years, there wasn't a single toy on any of the lists. Underwear... Really? Underwear shouldn't be on a three year old girl's Christmas list. When I looked at this list, I realized I don't need anything at all. The latest trends and technology seem so frivolous when put into comparison. When one realizes the difference between needs and wants, one transforms into an adult. By realizing the greater needs of others, one is able to put herself aside and dedicate her life to serving others. This Christmas season, National Honors Society held a coat drive. I was amazed at how many coats were brought in to provide for the needy families at the Community ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... She said, "A need is something you cannot survive without." There are multiple parents that are surviving and supporting families without a college education. As of 2011, only "three out of 10 adult Americans held bachelor's degrees" (Vise). And that was setting a record high (Vise). My list of wants greatly outnumbered my needs, and I was amazed to see just how blessed I am. How blessed I am to live in the United States of America where I have freedoms that soldiers have fought and died for. How blessed I am to live in a family with both a mother and a father. In 2009, there was "approximately 13.7 million single parents in the United States..., and those parents are responsible for raising 22 million children,...26% of children under 21 in the U.S." (Wolf). How blessed I am to have food on the table every night. The United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization estimates that nearly 870 million people of the 7.1 billion people in the world, or one in eight, were suffering from chronic undernourishment in 2010–2012 (2013 Worl...). I don't have all these blessings just because I got lucky. I believe part of becoming an adult is learning from the blessed life in which one lives. From a blessed life, one can humble herself and see what it is like to be in someone else's shoes. Then, help those people. Help can come in various ways: money, a smile, listening to them, giving a hand, etc. Within all the bad, depressing news I was able to read a story about a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 15. Early Christian Religion Research Paper 'The early Christian church made no distinction between sin and suffering, and repentance and healing." (p. 34) The Scripture equates sickness with unclean spirits and demonic activity. Early Christians understood the relationship between sin and sickness and acted accordingly (see James 5:14,15). Jesus taught the disciples the relationship between sin and sickness. In the early church repentance and healing went hand–in–hand. Unfortunately, in today's church the first call of a sick Christian is to their doctor or hospital. We have turned to the secular world for a healing, which they cannot offer. Satan's footprint is everywhere in the medical field. I am reminded of a Scripture, which says that man is always searching for knowledge but never ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 17. How Did The Tanzimat Influence Arab Elites Furthermore, when the Tanzimat came in the 18th century to reform the administration and bureaucracy of the empire among other things, many of its policies managed to further include Arab elites within the Ottoman system in several provinces, while attempting to reduce the decentralized nature of Ottoman control over Arab provinces. The system of iltizam has been long gone by this time, yet the power and influence of Arab elites did not disappear with it. The tanzimat, which granted Arabs citizenship rights brought mutual support from some Arab elites to the empire and vise versa as the elites detached themselves from those who called for further decentralization, and the Ottomans allowed Arabs to be part of the empire's administration, while the majority of Arab elites opposed it. ... Altogether there was bodies of seven men, three women, two baby boys and at least 45 pounds of bone fragments was recovered from the ground by Lake's cabin site. They killed the men and the babies immediately, and then they kept the women alive and repeatedly abused them. They videotaped themselves raping and abusing the woman until they killed them. It was believed that Ng and Lake murdered 11 to 25 people in that cabin. Their rampage could have lasted alot longer if it wasn't for Ng's addiction to stealing. • 25. Reflection Assignment On Gunsmiths In this week's reflection assignment, I, watched a video on Gunsmithing tools. As a future Gunsmith, I, will need to either; install or disassemble weapon parts, carry out repairs, design parts or alter a weapon in some way to make it operational. Besides conducting repairs and modifications, I, may also customize a weapon through decorative artwork such as; checkering, staining or making wood carving designs. When handling any weapon, we must always ensure that the firearm is safe and cleared before altering or fixing parts. When conducting any work either on weapons or for weapons, I, always keep every tool in front of me on my table in sections. As a future Gunsmith, although, I, will be primarily focused on creating under a Minute of Angle (M.O.A) Sniper ammunition; I, will still need basic hand tools. Basic Gunsmithing hand tools like; vises, hammers, punches; a screwdriver set, Torx wrench, bench block, pliers and files will all prove to be invaluable in a workshop and will immediately pay for itself. In this profession, it's essential to have precise measurements and attention to detail. Not all tools are immediately needed to become a Gunsmith, as some people in this profession may function on the level of a; weekend hobbyist, semi–professional from home or even a professional at a gun range. In my opinion and experience, the main goal of tool selection should be to; select only the tools needed but of very good quality. Frustration comes when working on a weapon and having a cheap tool fail or worse damage the part. Regardless of the Gunsmith's experience level a person has, extra care of all items is needed to convey our workmanship. Our workmanship will eventually travel by word of mouth and achieve good or bad results due to the level of quality and effort put into even the smallest part. When inspecting or repairing any firearm, no bench or shop is complete without the vise. The vise is a tool the allows the Gunsmith to use both hands to repair or assemble parts by securing the weapon in padded jaws. The jaws of the vise should be padded with leather or a protective cloth, as this will protect the weapons finish and uses a clamp for portability. To fit; butt–plates, taper–pins and free choke ... Prior to beginning work on the buttstock, he checks the fit of the curved metal plate to the end of the stock. f course this is not the final it, but it gives a good general idea of just what needs to be done in order to accomplish this task. Once the old recoil pad is removed, he secures wooden dowels in the holes. He taps them into place, to prevent air pockets from pushing them out later. When it is dry, he trues the surface with a file, and grinder. He tries on the new recoil pad, and marks his holes where he'll secure it. He matches he surfaces with a square. He cuts leather, matching the dimensions to the new recoil plate. When he cuts the leather, he uses oil to prevent inadvertent damage from occurring. The recoil pad is smoothed to fit the leather, and the logo is grinded off. The excess leather is trimmed, and cut away. • 31. Compare And Contrast Gerty In The Lamplighter "True looked at Gerty in perfect wonder and distress. He knew nothing about children, and was astonished at her simplicity. He could not leave her there, such a cold night; but he hardly knew what he could do with her if he took her home, for he lived alone, and was poor. But another violent coughing spell decided him at once to share with her his shelter, fire and food, for one night, at least. So he took her by the hand, saying 'Come with me;' and Gerty ran along confidently by his side, never asking whither." Gerty and True's relationship is one unlike any other in the book The Lamplighter. Gerty went through many torturous foster homes in her life. Her previous foster parents were all despicable. Eventually, Gerty is brought to home with a woman named Nan Grant. The only good thing about this home is that every night a man would come around and light the lamps along the sidewalks. Gerty always looked forward to seeing the lamplighter come by. They first spoke to each other when Gerty came running back to the house with milk and tripped, resulting in the milk spilling everywhere. True, the lamplighter, was taken aback by Gerty's appearance but then said, kindly "She won't be hard on such a mite of a thing as you are, will she? Cheer up, my ducky! Never mind if she does scold you a little. I'll bring you something, tomorrow, that I think you'll like, may be; you're such a lonesome sort of a looking thing. • 33. Fta 215 Word Journal In this short paper I will go over my thoughts on this week's assigned course reading. This week we were instructed to read Chapter Four of the FTA 215 course text. This chapter covered Tools, Maintenance, and Repair of the AR–15 platform rifle. In the beginning of this chapter it was explained to us that "Whether you are just interested in performing maintenance on your AR–15–style rifle, or want to build one from components, you'll need some basic tools." At this point in the game I probably wouldn't panic if I needed to work on my AR–10... but I definitely still need platform specific tools. I can't wait to get AR–specific tools for our future build. The author then went on to explain to us that the basic list of tools that we should have on hand to work on an AR–15 platform rifle are as follows Ball–peen hammer, Nylon/brass hammer, Bit driver screwdriver, Torx bit set, Hex bit set, Flat head bits, Phillips head bits, Needle–nose pliers, Lower receiver vise block, Upper receiver vise block set, and a Rifle bench block... as well as a few other tools. I already have most of those things, but as stated before there are a few things I still need to acquire. It was nice to touch on cleaning and maintenance once again, because my safe got flooding ... In this part of the chapter the author made it clear that as a "mechanical device the Ar–15 is subject to malfunction or failure. Of course, you never want to discover a malfunction when you are depending on your firearm. One way to prevent this is to perform a functions check prior to taking your AR–15 with you for use." As a former military man... I can attest to the importance of frequent functions checks. I still do them religiously because I need to know my weapon will go bang if I need ... Is there a single person, place, thing or event that has connected past slavery to the now and free present? One could mention the Willie Lynch letter. Willie Lynch was a British slave owner that lived in the West Indies. The letter is said to be a speech on how to make a slave, while addressing other slave masters. In the letter, the making of a slave was a science, because he had boasted about used some of the newest and some of the oldest methods to control their slaves. He even goes on to say his ... In 2011, blacks made 66 cents for every dollar earned by whites, compared to 55 cents for every dollar earned by whites in 1963. How do Black Americans break the poverty cycle? What caused this? One suggestion says that under–resourced schools and mass incarceration drives this cycle. Both must be eradicated, neither is adequate in itself. Schools in poor neighborhoods most of the time are inadequate to handle the mission of educating the youth. On the other hand, a black student in a suburban school is six times more likely to graduate on time and be college–ready than a black student in a segregated urban school. Five times as many Whites are using drugs as African Americans, yet African Americans are sent to prison for drug offenses at 10 times the rate of Whites. This is due to unfair drug laws, over policing and prosecutions in black neighborhoods and overenthusiastic district attorneys. If America can find a way to improve educational attainment for black males and eliminate disparate rates of incarceration for drug offences would begin to break the poverty cycle. First we built the model lifts, which involves attaching the top of another syringe's piston to the back of a metal plate with epoxy and then connecting the master syringe to the slave syringe with tubing. Every lift had a 12 cubic centimeter (cc) master hydraulic cylinder but each had one of three different other hydraulic cylinders: 12 cc, 35 cc, and 60 cc. You will use water as the hydraulic fluid. Paintings such as Son of Man by Magritte which has basics such as shadow, highlight, simple composition, and a dull color palette. A design for Apple Laptops was created of a decal of Son of Man. This design also had shadow, light, basic composition, and an achromatic color palette. The structure is the same, but one is created digitally and one is a painting. The processes can also be very similar. Many artists use technology in their artwork. They use Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator, programs for designers and use it to create their artwork. Artists such as Jeff Koons who manipulates images on Photoshop, prints it and paints hyper realistic paintings from those images. The structure and process for art and design can be very similar. Can an artist be a designer or vise versa? One argument that critics make is that artists are just artists or that a designer is not an artist. However there are countless artists who are designers and vise versa. One famous designer would be Eva Zeisel. Eva Zeisel is famous for creating a body of dinner sets which she created after she was released in Russia. Some students find higher education as a pathway to a high paying job when they graduate, while others believe that college is a way to learn more about what interests them and to develop into a better person. There has been recent debate that students are getting distracted from their learning by other extracurricular activities. According to "Is College too easy? As study time falls, debate rises", a study shows that the average study time dropped from twenty four hours to just fifteen hours (de Vise). This decrease has been causing people to wonder if college is becoming too easy, or if it is the students that are doing something different. Study time has dropped due to a multitude of things, such as major and activities outside of school. Studying is part of the learning process that every student goes through. Most learning occurs outside of the classroom, such as in a dorm or the library. The teacher provides the information in hope that the student will learn it themselves. The process of taking information and turning it into knowledge is called studying. Students are supposed to study two hours for every one hour in class (de Vise). Scholars believe there are a variety of reasons. Some scholars believe the reason that study time has dropped is due to the type of major. I agree with this because every major requires a different amount of work. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

For example, water is a polar molecule and the air we breathe is a nonpolar molecule, both of which are vital to human survival. Also, soap, which is both polar and nonpolar pushes the polar molecules to the top of the skin so the water, which is also polar, can wash away the dirt or substance coating the hand. This leads into 'like dissolves like', which is when polar bonds dissolve in polar bonds and nonpolar bonds dissolve in nonpolar bonds. Which is the reason why, when items are being washed a person can not only use water, they have to use soap, because the dirt or grease is a nonpolar bond and is not the same bond type ... Since water is polar and the phospholipids are nonpolar, water needs a special protein, and aquaporin, to assist its movement. When there is a hypertonic solution outside the cell, it causes the water to move out of the cell, causing it to shrink. In a hypotonic solution, however, the water will move into the cell causing it to enlarge. In this experiment, an egg with a dissolved shell was placed into different solutions to demonstrate the movement of water through a membrane.
