Kant Turning Points
Alper Özesmer
Preliminary Study
Question 1: What are the three versions of the Copernican Turn?
Accordingly, Kant's aim is to rescue metaphysics from an endless war by embarking a turning point in metaphysics as Nicolaus Copernicus did in
cosmology. Copernicus denied the Ptolemaic geocentric cosmological system because of its insufficiency about the explanation of the movement of
the planets. He brought a solution to the problem of the explaining movements of the planets by rejecting the assumption that the Earth was motionless
and he suggested that motions of the planets are the result of the observer. With this change in perspective Copernicus tried to give a solid foundation
to cosmology. In regard to this point, in the Preface to Second ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The world conforms to our modes of knowing and we know it only as it appears to us. According to Kant, our knowledge begins with experience but
does not arise out of experience ; experience is already determined by the subject's a priori modes of knowledge. In other words, the objects of
experience are already conditioned by the subject's constitution and what human reason knows as necessary and universal is what it has already put
into experience. Simply, that means all our experience is synthetically produced and he locates the origin of these productions in our faculties. To wit,
we can only know what we produce as a condition of our

Different Models Of Psychotherapies One
As one starts to look at the different models of psychotherapies one must also look at
the foundations upon which the models have been built. No matter the structure, whether it
be buildings, sentences, or model theories, the structure must be built on a solid foundation or
the structure shall fall. This premise is set forth in the scriptures as well. Christ tells a story in
Matthew 7:24–27 of two men who each built a house. One man built his foundation on rock
while the other sets his foundation on sand. During a period of rain the one who had his
foundation on rock found his house was able to withstand the onslaught, while the one who
had his foundation on sand lost all. Christ refers to himself as a rock in Matthew ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Every part, however, must be
analyzed in view of scripture prior to determining any usefulness it may or may not have.
Jay Adams makes the statement that "Man was created as a being whose very existence is
derived from and dependent upon a Creator whom he must acknowledge as such and from
whom he must obtain wisdom and knowledge through revelation." He continues to state that
"Man is not autonomous...Man needed God's Word from the outset..." When one takes this
view one would rationally think that God would provide everything in the Bible that mankind
would need, especially for mental and spiritual welfare.
It would appear that sometimes people limit the Word of God not due to the limitation of
scripture, but due to the limitation of some peoples knowledge and understanding.
When one considers the models of Classical Psychoanalysis one can easily make the
determination that the model is based upon an improper foundation. Sigmund Freud is
considered the founder of this model and with his atheistic viewpoint it would be only
reasonable to make the statement that this model is not based upon Christ, rather, it is based
upon the most primitive of animalistic tendencies. Even Stanton and Butman recognized the
Darwinistic tendencies of Freud stateing, "Darwins evolutionary perspective exerted profound
influence over the thinking of Freud's late

2 Timothy 2 Metaphors
In 2 Timothy Paul was writing to his beloved colleague Timothy, pastor of the church in Ephesus, who Paul had called his "dear son" (2 Timothy 1:2;
2:1 NLT). The theme of 2 Timothy is Paul trying to impress his final instructions and encouragement onto Timothy. Within the letter of 2 Timothy,
Paul encouraged Timothy through five prominent subjects'; foundations of Christian service, chapter of metaphors, the last days, God–inspired
Scriptures and Paul's farewell (Jensen 1981, 396–398).
Paul writes about the burdens of his heart, he does this to inspire and challenge his young successor Timothy to keep witnessing for Christ. Paul knew
that the foundations of the gospel were impenetrable, and if he encouraged Timothy, he would not falter. After Paul encouraged Timothy about the
foundations of Christian service, he goes on to explain these in the metaphor chapter. Paul explains to Timothy about the ministry itself, by mastering
the use of metaphors to describe persons, things, and actions. These metaphors Paul uses help explain to Timothy what Paul considered to be the last
days, where he forewarns Timothy about the difficult times that are to come upon the world (Jensen 1981, 396).
The last two things that Paul explains to Timothy is through 2 Timothy were that God ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Youth Incarceration Research Paper
The Incarceration of Juveniles It is estimated that on any given day there are 80,000 youth incarcerated in the United States, which is more than any
other developed country in the world(Townes, 1). Incarcerating youth before exploring other options is a social injustice. Judges rather give short term
solutions than permanently fix the problem. To understand why this is a social injustice, four pieces of information must be known: the causes, who it
affects and how, who's responsible, and solutions in place. Incarcerating youth affects them in many different ways. One way is the psychiatric damage
prisons cause. Being in prison means that the child is not able to be with their family and community, which can lead to feelings of loneliness and
depression. Studies show that "incarcerated youth die from suicide at a rate two to three times more than non– incarcerated youths" (Polish,1). In
addition to mental health effects, incarceration at a young age affects the person's future by lowering their chances of finding a job. When sentenced to
a correctional facility, the child's education is stopped and they become 38 times more likely to become a repeat offender(Koehler,1). With no
education and a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Lack of resources is one of the major causes of high juvenile incarceration rates. Without alternative programs prison is the only option. Another major
fact is improper evaluations. Improper evaluations lead to children, who are considered non– public threats, being thrown in jail. Roughly 25% of
youth behinds bar are actually considered threats which means the remaining are considered non– threatening (Townes, 2). In addition, improper
evaluations lead to youth with mental illnesses being placed behind bars and not receiving medical attention. It's known that 65 to 70% of youth behind
bars have a disability, yet barley anything has been done to help them obtain the help they need(Townes,

Introduction:
There have been numerous changes in the computer technology since the first computer was invented and this is an ongoing process. During this
whole time computers have shrinked tremendously in size and now can be carried in pocket and as a wearable object. Wearable technology provides
human enhancement in personal level and offers several opportunities in enterprise. It is essential to understand the history, evolution and other
enabling technologies to effectively adopt and improve the use of wearable technologies.
History and evolution of Wearable Technology:
The first form of wearable technologies was probably the wrist watch, which was designed to provide a particular service to the users, was invented as
early as the late 1500s. Then the portable radio, later evolved into the Walkman which was also perpetuated because of users desire to have access to a
particular service all the time. These desires for continuous access of services have pervaded the development of most of the wearable technologies.
The development of computers has exhibited a progression towards mobility and portability, from massive mainframe computers to desktops to
laptops, to PDA's and to wristwatch computers which were

The Turn 2 Foundation and the American Dream
The American Dream is defined as the opportunity for every U.S. citizen to achieve success through hard–work, determination, and initiative. Derek
Jeter's Turn 2 Foundation was created to help children grow safely and successfully into adulthood and become the leaders of our next generation. The
Turn 2 Foundation promotes the American Dream to kids and students because the foundation teaches kids to work hard to achieving their dreams
while laying the groundwork to a healthy lifestyle so kids can succeed and achieve their dreams the "right way." The leaders of the Foundation achieve
this by hosting and holding various events that heavily touch up ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Work hard and never make excuses."(Izaguirre 2). The road to achieving the American Dream is difficult and long one and Derek Jeter's Turn 2
Foundation promotes all the ideas necessary to doing it.
The Jeter's Leaders program was designed to promote key principles of the Turn 2 Foundation and achieve their goals. Some of the Turn 2 Foundation
's principles include, morality, being trustworthy, and leading by example which is preached to the Jeter's Leaders throughout their journey. The goals
that have been developed through the Jeter's leaders include the promotion of a healthy lifestyle, succeeding academically, and giving the leaders
experiences that will help them develop into adults and professional leaders when they go into college and onwards. This is where the American
Dream plays in because the American Dream is defined as the equal opportunity for every American to succeed through hard work. Since the Turn 2
Foundation promotes these ideals to the Jeter's Leaders, they are taught how to succeed later in life. The Jeter's leaders are promoted all of these ideas
through various different projects that give the students an initiative to work hard for their communities and become better people overall.
The Turn 2 Foundation launches various different events over the year to promote the ideas to help children. One of these events is the Social Change
Project, which was launched at Siena College in 2015. The whole idea of the Social Change Project is

Coral Bleaching Informative Speech

everything is demolished. There are no buildings and north campus is a desiccated, brown wasteland. Your friends that usually meet you near the
library are nowhere to be found. This is how millions of fish and other marine life feel when their coral reefs have been degraded, bleached, and left to

is broadening their scope of practice, they are not only helping patients with end stage renal disease, but also those patients in early stages of kidney
disease, along with those at risk for kidney disease due to hypertension and/or diabetes. Maine Nephrology follows the vision of The National Kidney
Foundation which was established in 1950 by Ada DeBold in an effort to save the life of her young son. As a small child, he was diagnosed with
pediatric nephrosis, a disease that causes the kidney to lose protein and in turn the body develops swelling. In the 1950's this disease was debilitating
and had more than a ninety percent mortality rate. In an effort to find a cure, a group of clinicians and researchers were put together to share their

Biblical Leadership : The Foundation
Plenty of contributions have been made to biblical leadership and the need for such in the Church. In order to understand better the challenges facing
small churches concerning leadership, it is important to consider the biblical mandate for such. Looking at key areas such as Biblical leadership's
Foundation, Form, Fundamentals and Function helps draw application for the small church.
The purpose is not to develop an exhaustive description and study of biblical leadership. Rather, the purpose is to acknowledge God's design for church
organization and spiritual leadership. A compilation of material on church organization from well studied authors on this subject helps to understand
God's design in these areas.
Biblical Leadership: The Foundation
A foundation is extremely important to a house. The whole structure relies upon the solidity of the foundation. It is no surprise that Jesus uses the
foundation of a house to illustrate the need for a proper foundation in our spiritual lives (Matthew 7:24–27). All things in life need to be built on a
foundation. For the Christian, the foundation is the Word of God. It should come as no surprise, the Bible also builds a foundation for leadership in the
local church.
The church is built upon the foundation laid out in the Bible. Ed Wharton teaches the concept of a distinctive pattern of New Testament Christianity in
his book, The Church of Christ. The design for the church is found in the pattern laid out in Scripture. Wharton

God One Cannot Suffer Without Merited Suffering Analysis
Religion has always played an instrumental role in the foundation of society, 17th century France perfectly exemplifies this heavy reliance on religion
when faced with the dilemma of animals souls. European life, along with Descartes theory on animal souls, depend exclusively on the presence of
God, if animals souls were to be proven, the trust in God would be diminished along with any justification given to humans for the treatment of
animals, leaving the question of true human purpose.
(I) Religion and the bible were looked to by many as a guide of right and wrong ways to live, the existence of animal souls would have made the
treatment of animals unjust.

Yvon's theory of an unfair God, and counter argument against Descartes automata, once again questioning the foundation many have built their lives
upon. The human purpose is once again called into question considering that everything once believed to have been know has been disregarded in the
wake of this discovery.
(b) Furthermore, if human purpose is being questioned by the uprising of the religious foundation, the bounds of living in that time would also be
doubted.

In April 2008, Vermont was the first states that enacted a law allowing for the formation of low–profit limited liability companies. As of July, similar
legislation has been adopted in Illinois, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Michigan, North Carolina, North Dakota, Rhode Island, Utah, Vermont, and
Wyoming and the federal jurisdictions of the Crow Indian Nation of Montana and the Oglala Sioux Tribe. Additionally, legislation has been written in
California, Florida, Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, Ohio, Texas, Washington, and Wisconsin but has not been introduced yet. (11)

typical L3C entity example to illustrate the benefit to both investors and social. Moreover, the last discussion will be involving some criticisms and the
existing problems of the L3C.

for–profit business ventures, to support charitable activities, which may involve the potential return of capital within an established of time". (12)
Briefly stated, a PRI is an investment by a private foundation in which:

Family Relations : The And Structure Of Society
Many Americans see the significance in the value of family because it is the main foundation and structure of society itself. The superiority of group
relationships, such as in a family, is what lots of people critic the excellence and pleasure of their lives. Families in American society believe that
connectivity fosters success in the lives within a family. Family relations offer individuals a good judgment of comfort and therefore form faithfulness
and accountability towards others. The average family has problems but can be fixed by implementing the important qualities that define a strong
family relationship. Without alteration there can be no progress. Change is inevitably apart of what has to be done in order to form the strong
foundation of family that everybody desires to have. Family support plays a significant responsibility in one's capability to make positive decisions,
which prevents them from going down the fallacious path. The quicker families conform to the significant qualities a strong family encompasses is
when they start to see the improvement in the relationships with their family members. Some say that family involvement has no impact or place in
their life whereas others concede to the circumstance that they can't live without it. Parents and families have the utmost undeviating and permanent
influence on children's learning and progress. Although few Americans proclaim family involvement has no place in their morals, our society displays
that when

The Correlation between Parental Affection and Future Adult Relationships
A recent study showed that a person's upbringing is the core foundation and influence on future relationships. According to Currie (as cited in Tayler,
2015) it has been shown that a child's early encounters shape the brain foundation for future behaviors. Parent to child relationship is the core
foundation in a child's development. (Butcher, R. L., & Gersch, 2014) Attachment theorist John Bolby showed that having emotional relationship with
a child's main caregiver is the key foundation to that child's personality and behavior. (as cited in Butcher, et al. 2014) A warm, positive early
relationship in a child's life leads to them developing strong emotional and social capability, which in turn directs them into making positive future
relationships with others. (Hanko, 2006) Thus, the purpose of the present study is to establish whether positive, nurturing parental upbringing is related
to positive, successful adult romantic relationship.
Childhood Relationships A large body of research has demonstrated the importance of a strong, nurturing parental foundation and the benefits it has on
future adult companionship. (Hanko,2006 ) The type of attachment style shown by the parents influences the child's adult relationship. For

Human Vs Robotic Space Exploration
In Support of: Sending Exclusively Robotic Missions Space exploration is devoted to seeking out the unknowns of the universe. Manned and robotic
missions alike have contributed priceless knowledge of our planet's surroundings and beyond. However, with the current geopolitical climate, funding,
and other practicalities, it is not reasonable for the exploration of space to be done exclusively by humans. To put it simply, human space flight is
incredibly expensive in an already over budgeted program. As of 2016's fiscal year budget, NASA was allocated $18.5 billion by the United States

would aid in speeding up the commercialization of space travel which would in turn help fund further exploration.
Robotic space missions are more efficient and cost effective, which makes them a better choice going into the future of space exploration. Specifically
with missions to Mars, it opens the possibility of one way trips to this exciting planet, which would dramatically decrease the amount of money needed
to fund missions. Lawrence Krauss, an American–Canadian theoretical physicist, has stated that a large burden on manned space missions is having to
transport fuel for two trips, there and back again (James Randi Foundation, 2011). Elon Musk has agreed with this argument in that he has said a rocket
is essentially just a container for liquid oxygen and fuel, of which robots would need only half the fuel and require none of the oxygen for respiration
purposes (Anderson, 2012). Why should transportation remain two times more expensive than it should be? Lugging this fuel around also has a
negative environmental impact. The petroleum tanks that maintain the refrigeration of the fuel leave a large

Cape Cod Kitchen
Many Cape Cod families find it necessary to consider accessibility in designing their kitchen because of a family member with a disability or because
of aging family members who are experiencing some physical limitations. At this time, there is no code of accessible design for residential homes.
There are, however, sets of guidelines for various levels of home accessibility. Many of the features needed by persons with disabilities are also
attractive and useful to others. If you want to make your remodeled Cape Cod kitchen more accessible, here are some of the basic steps you might
take: –Raise electrical outlets from the standard height of 12 inches to 15 or 18 inches above the floor –Consider wider hallways and doors (34–36

These organizations can also help you find architects and certified kitchen designers in Cape Cod who have the knowledge and experience to help you
make good choices in creating an accessible kitchen. These organizations can also help you find manufacturers who make the appropriate styles of
appliances. The primary considerations in kitchen accessibility are: 1. Space – enough open space in the appropriate parts of the kitchen to allow
someone to turn a wheelchair or a scooter. 2. Access – counter height, appliance design and storage design that is accessible to someone with reaching,
bending or standing limitations. 3. Safety – think about and plan for alternative ways to do things, such as moving heavy items, reaching across cook
tops or ranges, ability to reach needed items from a wheelchair. With some research and thought you can create an accessible and stylish Cape Cod

The Responsibility Of Organizational Effectiveness
Leadership Style The responsibility of organizational effectiveness is in the hands of the institution's leaders. Leaders develop business strategies to
maintain relevance or launch the business into the next generation or category. An important factor of strategic success is how managers and
supervisors lead followers in a new direction. The foundation of the relationship will determine if the employees will give total commitment to the
organization's strategy or do the minimal tasking.
Organizational Effectiveness Organizations are continually evolving to meet the requests of the stakeholders, customers, and the environment.
Strategic renewal is revamping an organization's business model, target audience, or products or services to meet the demands put on the leaders
(Spector, 2013). Therefore, the success of the company's new strategy is dependent on the leaders' capability to support the new internal processes with
the external requirements (Spector, 2013).
Strategic Leadership Strategic leadership is the capability to incorporate forward–thinking ideas and concepts into a business's functions while
simultaneously influencing employees to accept the new processes (Malewska & Sajdak, 2014). Consequently, leaders cannot announce a change or
new strategy and expect the staff to understand the latest expectations; it takes a more in–depth, hands–on approach to make the system work. In a
1998 study, chief executive officers (CEOs) from American businesses ranked

Design A Year 1 Mathematics Learning Experience
Professional Plan
Measurement and Geometry
The purpose of this assignment is to design a Year 1 mathematics learning experience which integrates some aspects of Measurement and geometry.
This assignment will use the Australian Curriculum Assessment and Reporting Curriculum (ACARA) where mathematic curricula integrate location
and transportation with technology 'engaging students in a multi–modal dynamic learning experience' Mulligan (2015).The requirements of Grade 1
Measurements and Geometry states the following units should be addressed. This proposal will consist of 'Direct Instructions' relating to directions, the
use and understanding of mathematical location, and terminology. Children will develop problem–solving and investigation skills through scaffolding
to navigate different ways to a pre–planned location.
In Year 1 for Measurements and Geometry/ Location and Transport, students should be able to 'Give and follow directions to familiar locations'
(ACARA, 2016). According to the curriculum, the students should also understand the importance of directional words and their meanings, such as
forward, backward, under, right turn and also left turn. Additionally, students should understand the reason why people give and follow directions from
one place to another. Following directions can also include turns, as well as distances. One example would be directing a person to the nearest school
location. Without prior knowledge or a set of directions, there is

Coca Cola And Its Impact On Society
Coca–Cola a leading manufacturer, distributor and marketer of soft drink products. Coca–Cola was not always the sugary syrup soft drink most people
know today. As a matter of fact, before 1886 Coca–Cola was made with alcohol and cocaine. Concocted by Dr. John Pemberton a pharmacist in
Atlanta Georgia Coca–Cola was originally named Pemberton's French Wine Coca. Dr. Pemberton marketed the drink as a cure all for mental and
physical disorders and was sold from a soda fountain at his local drug store. A step ahead of prohibition, Dr. Pemberton replace the wine in his formula
with a sugary syrup. The cocaine portion of Coca–Cola was removed before 1914 when cocaine was deemed illegal in the United States of America.
Coca–Cola as we know today still contains coca but the narcotic portion of cocaine, it is removed. Today, Coca–Cola has expanded to over 200+
countries. From concerts to sport venues to local restaurants you are more than likely to come across a Coca–Cola product, Coca–Cola has had such an
impact on society that it is given credit for how we portray Santa Clause today. Other credits should also be given to Coca–Cola like an increase in
diabetes and other diseases. Coca–Cola has been known to cause several health issues such as diabetes, liver problems and heart disease. There has
been scientific research that has proven how Coca–Cola effects the human body negatively. For example, a study shows exactly what happens to the
human body after an hour of drinking coke.

The Nazi Racial policy during this period consist of two elements which are racial purity and eugenics breeding. In turn of making racial purity, the

Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is a disease that is described as a loss of kidney function gradually over time. As kidney function decreases, the waste
collection in the body's blood becomes high and makes the individual feel sick. This disease can lead to other complications in the body such as
anemia, poor nutritional health, high blood pressure, and nerve damage. These complications will begin to progress and show as CKD progresses to
advanced stages. Early detection of this disease is essential when it comes to treatment. If CKD is diagnosed early enough the disease progression can

The amount of filtration done by the kidneys will obviously cause negative effects throughout the body if they are not functioning properly. CKD will
cause the body to retain many excess fluids and waste that are normally filtered out to prevent internal harm throughout the body. With kidney disease
there will be a rise in blood pressure due to the amount of extra fluid that is retained in the blood vessels. This fluid retention will cause the
passageways to become narrow and make blood passage through the vessels increasingly difficult, in turn causing an increase in blood pressure. There
will also be an increase in protein and blood found in the urine because it is not filtered out properly by the kidneys. Swelling will occur in the
extremities and around the eyes because of the fluid retention as well. The longer the urine goes unfiltered the harder it may become to urinate due to
pain or blockage or there may be more frequent night time urination (The National Kidney Foundation, 12). There are also a few tests that will show
whether or not the kidneys are filtering the body's fluids as they should. A simple urinalysis can be done to detect protein or blood in the urine. This
will alert the medical professionals to a possible problem with the proper functioning of the kidneys. There are also Blood Urea Nitrogen (BUN),
creatinine, and glomerular filtration rate (GFR) tests that will measure the

Does that not make sense? Who would pass up the opportunity to actively learn, to be in control of the keyboard and what appears next on the screen?
What would be more appealing than colorful images and text filled with links the child can control compared to written text on the chalkboard?
The amazing thing about the Internet is that it "has the ability to erase all geological, languages, and time barriers so that students continue to learn
long after leaving school" (Guillermo 2). The Internet also provides instant communication with millions of users worldwide. This allows the
traditional classroom to be expanded literally across the world. Bringing the availability of the Web into the average classroom would allow children
access to text, photographs, video clips, and sound from all over the world that might otherwise be unobtainable.
What does the Web have to offer? This is a common question among new users. The answers to this question are vast and numerous. Teachers and
students can communicate via e–mail, listservs, discussion groups and bulletin boards. Students can access everything from library catalogs to
archives. All of this can be done in comfort of home. The student can travel to Italy online and visit the statue of David, or go to a library in Mexico

Cultural Barriers To The Romans
The gospel is the foundation of the faith and without it there nothing. Romans 1:16 states "it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone that
believes".1 There are a lot of churches which do missions and other fine works but they fail when proclaiming the gospel. They proclaim portions of
which are non–offensive to people. Hell will not be talked about, sexual sin never mentioned or any other type of sin. The need is for healthy churches,
who then in turn are more likely to send healthy mission teams out into the field. The world desperately needs an untainted gospel. The power of the
gospel is the best tool to break down barriers. When the Apostle Paul wrote Romans, he was crossing cultural barriers, he stated in Romans 1: 14–15
"14 I am under obligation both to Greeks and to barbarians,[d] both to the wise and to the foolish. 15 So I am eager to preach the gospel to you also
who are in Rome." 2 Paul is a great example of being a barrier breaker and being unashamed about his faith. Paul faced numerous obstacles, including
persecution , customs and cultural differences. Therefore, this makes him a great example of what missionaries will encounter. ... Show more content

one of the three greatest shortstops of all time was his leadership ability off the field. Ripken knew what it meant to be a leader on the field, but he also
knew what leadership off the field was. He became a part of many charitable organizations, but none more influential than the organization created by
his own family. The Ripken children, including Cal Ripken, Jr., created the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation to carry on their father's dream and legacy. Cal
Ripken, Sr. wanted to see children taught life lessons using the game of baseball, and that is exactly what the Cal Ripken, Sr. foundation did. Their
mission statement was as follows: "The Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation helps to build character and teach critical life lessons to at–risk young people
living in America's most distressed communities through baseball– and softball–themed programs" ("Mission"). During the 1995 season, Ripken had
another encounter with yet another charity. In 1995, when Ripken broke Lou Gehrig's record for most consecutive games played, Ripken and the
Orioles decided to join forces with the Lou Gehrig Fund. When Ripken broke the record, the Orioles' organization donated two million dollars to John
Hopkins Medical Institutions. That money was to be used to research ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) to try to find a cure. Later that year, breakthrough
technology was found to slow the onset of the disease ("Fund"). Ripken was given a wonderful platform to help people who were dealt tough

EDTA 2nd time | 16 | 29 | # of drops EDTA 3rd time | | | Average result | 16 | 28.5 | Data Analysis: 1) Which water sample had more Ca/Mg? Relatively,
how much more? The well water from Wilton has a larger amount of Ca 2+/Mg 2+ compared to the Elk Grove tap water. Relatively, it's approximately
twice harder because 28 drops of EDTA is added to Wilton well water in order to make it turns blue while it only take 16 drops to changes color of Elk
Grove tap water. 2) EDTA is often added to shampoo. Can you suggest why? EDTA is added to shampoo to take away the calcium and magnesium that
exists. The shampoo will then lather and creates more bubbles; that's greater to bathe in. 3) Pots and pans used for boiling water often develop a
coating of scale in homes that use hard water. What might this scale be? The scale might be magnesium and calcium. After the water reaches its boiling
point, all the water molecules would turns into gas evaporates, left the solid magnesium and calcium at the bottom of the pans. 4) Why might the water
of one region be much harder than another? The water of different region has different hardness level because water comes from different sources of
underground aquifers. The amount of

Language, And A Better Understanding

AP English Language and Composition

Language, and a Better Understanding
Language is a topic that will never cease to adapt, from slang being developed in suburbs of urban cities, to new additions to the Oxford dictionary.
We, students of English, use different concepts of language almost everyday and most of the time we don't even realize it. To get a better understanding
of the English language and concepts developed within it, one would turn to look at the arguments of scholars including George Orwell, Nancy Mairs,
S.I. Hayakawa, Nicholas Carr, and the dispute of the Sunlight Foundation and Senator Mike Quigley. All of these authors have an argument for how
language is being developed and molded into this day and age, and for the modern English student, our questions and curiosities will be looked into
furthermore as the topics presented by these scholars are formulated. One recurring concept presented by George Orwell in Politics and the English
Language is how language corrupts thought and how thought can also corrupt language. Or well states "The English language becomes ugly and
inaccurate because our thoughts are foolish, but the slovenliness of our language makes it easier for us to have foolish thoughts" (Politics and the
English Language, Orwell). I truly believe that this is the case. The repetitive process is often difficult to break because bad habits provide us with
convenient and tasteful sentence structure. However

These agents initiate secondary fibrinolysis to occur; altering the haemostatic capability. The primary purpose of this agent is to clear occluded blood

3. Opt for silicone based foundation: Want a flawless complexion? Then make sure you opt for a silicone based foundation. A silicone based
foundation will make sure that your makeup doesn't slide away even if you are under the hot humid summer. Also, it is best to pick lightweight
foundation as you don't want your makeup to get cakey. 4. Use a dampened makeup sponge: Another amazing summer beauty hack to keep your
makeup intact is to use dampened makeup sponge. Wet your beauty blender and apply a small amount of foundation on it and swipe it on your face. A
damp sponge will give a dewy finish 5. Apply your foundation in criss–cross strokes: Another hack which makeup artists swear by is to apply
foundation in a criss–cross manner. All you need to do is dab some foundation on your foundation brush and apply it on your face in criss–cross
manner. This technique blends your makeup like a dream and when you sweat it wouldn't give a streaky finish! How cool is that? 6. Try cream blush:
Reserve your powder blush for another season, as the summer season demands only cream blush. Cream based blush wouldn't cake in hot weather– no

The Flea, By Andrew Marvell
John Donne 's, "The Flea," and Andrew Marvell's To His Coy Mistress are persuasive poem in which the speaker is attempting to establish a sexual
union with his significant other. These poems is spoken by a male lover to his female beloved as an attempt to convince her to sleep with him. John
Donne and Marvell brings out and shapes this meaning through his collective use of conceit, rhythm, and rhyme scheme. The basic theme of the poems
is the speaker's need to turn his "coy mistress" into a "willing mistress".
Donne uses the flea as a conceit, to represent a sexual union with his significant other. Marvell using his way with words to convince his lover to a
sexual union. In the first stanza in The Flea, a flea bites the speaker and woman. He responds to this incident by saying, "And in this flea our bloods
mingled be." (line 4). He is suggesting that they are united in this flea and would equally be united in intimacy. In the first stanza of "To His Coy
Mistress", the speaker tells his woman that if they had more time and space that her coyness wouldn't be a crime. He says this, "Had we but World
enough, and Time, This coyness lady were no crime". (line 1,2) Marvell also would compliment her and admire her. In the "Flea", the speaker tries to
marry the man and woman while in "To His Coy Mistress" the man is not trying to marry the
Duncan 2 two but trying to get the lady to sleep with him by using time. Donne states, "This flea is you and I, and this our marriage bed, and

Kant Turning Points

  • 1. Kant Turning Points Alper Özesmer Preliminary Study Question 1: What are the three versions of the Copernican Turn? Accordingly, Kant's aim is to rescue metaphysics from an endless war by embarking a turning point in metaphysics as Nicolaus Copernicus did in cosmology. Copernicus denied the Ptolemaic geocentric cosmological system because of its insufficiency about the explanation of the movement of the planets. He brought a solution to the problem of the explaining movements of the planets by rejecting the assumption that the Earth was motionless and he suggested that motions of the planets are the result of the observer. With this change in perspective Copernicus tried to give a solid foundation to cosmology. In regard to this point, in the Preface to Second ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The world conforms to our modes of knowing and we know it only as it appears to us. According to Kant, our knowledge begins with experience but does not arise out of experience ; experience is already determined by the subject's a priori modes of knowledge. In other words, the objects of experience are already conditioned by the subject's constitution and what human reason knows as necessary and universal is what it has already put into experience. Simply, that means all our experience is synthetically produced and he locates the origin of these productions in our faculties. To wit, we can only know what we produce as a condition of our ... • 3. Different Models Of Psychotherapies One As one starts to look at the different models of psychotherapies one must also look at the foundations upon which the models have been built. No matter the structure, whether it be buildings, sentences, or model theories, the structure must be built on a solid foundation or the structure shall fall. This premise is set forth in the scriptures as well. Christ tells a story in Matthew 7:24–27 of two men who each built a house. One man built his foundation on rock while the other sets his foundation on sand. During a period of rain the one who had his foundation on rock found his house was able to withstand the onslaught, while the one who had his foundation on sand lost all. Christ refers to himself as a rock in Matthew ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Every part, however, must be analyzed in view of scripture prior to determining any usefulness it may or may not have. Jay Adams makes the statement that "Man was created as a being whose very existence is derived from and dependent upon a Creator whom he must acknowledge as such and from whom he must obtain wisdom and knowledge through revelation." He continues to state that "Man is not autonomous...Man needed God's Word from the outset..." When one takes this view one would rationally think that God would provide everything in the Bible that mankind would need, especially for mental and spiritual welfare. It would appear that sometimes people limit the Word of God not due to the limitation of scripture, but due to the limitation of some peoples knowledge and understanding. When one considers the models of Classical Psychoanalysis one can easily make the determination that the model is based upon an improper foundation. Sigmund Freud is considered the founder of this model and with his atheistic viewpoint it would be only reasonable to make the statement that this model is not based upon Christ, rather, it is based upon the most primitive of animalistic tendencies. Even Stanton and Butman recognized the Darwinistic tendencies of Freud stateing, "Darwins evolutionary perspective exerted profound influence over the thinking of Freud's late ... The theme of 2 Timothy is Paul trying to impress his final instructions and encouragement onto Timothy. Within the letter of 2 Timothy, Paul encouraged Timothy through five prominent subjects'; foundations of Christian service, chapter of metaphors, the last days, God–inspired Scriptures and Paul's farewell (Jensen 1981, 396–398). Paul writes about the burdens of his heart, he does this to inspire and challenge his young successor Timothy to keep witnessing for Christ. Paul knew that the foundations of the gospel were impenetrable, and if he encouraged Timothy, he would not falter. After Paul encouraged Timothy about the foundations of Christian service, he goes on to explain these in the metaphor chapter. Paul explains to Timothy about the ministry itself, by mastering the use of metaphors to describe persons, things, and actions. These metaphors Paul uses help explain to Timothy what Paul considered to be the last days, where he forewarns Timothy about the difficult times that are to come upon the world (Jensen 1981, 396). The last two things that Paul explains to Timothy is through 2 Timothy were that God ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 7. Youth Incarceration Research Paper The Incarceration of Juveniles It is estimated that on any given day there are 80,000 youth incarcerated in the United States, which is more than any other developed country in the world(Townes, 1). Incarcerating youth before exploring other options is a social injustice. Judges rather give short term solutions than permanently fix the problem. To understand why this is a social injustice, four pieces of information must be known: the causes, who it affects and how, who's responsible, and solutions in place. Incarcerating youth affects them in many different ways. One way is the psychiatric damage prisons cause. Being in prison means that the child is not able to be with their family and community, which can lead to feelings of loneliness and depression. Studies show that "incarcerated youth die from suicide at a rate two to three times more than non– incarcerated youths" (Polish,1). In addition to mental health effects, incarceration at a young age affects the person's future by lowering their chances of finding a job. When sentenced to a correctional facility, the child's education is stopped and they become 38 times more likely to become a repeat offender(Koehler,1). With no education and a ... Another major fact is improper evaluations. Improper evaluations lead to children, who are considered non– public threats, being thrown in jail. Roughly 25% of youth behinds bar are actually considered threats which means the remaining are considered non– threatening (Townes, 2). In addition, improper evaluations lead to youth with mental illnesses being placed behind bars and not receiving medical attention. Some of the Turn 2 Foundation 's principles include, morality, being trustworthy, and leading by example which is preached to the Jeter's Leaders throughout their journey. • 21. Biblical Leadership : The Foundation Plenty of contributions have been made to biblical leadership and the need for such in the Church. In order to understand better the challenges facing small churches concerning leadership, it is important to consider the biblical mandate for such. Looking at key areas such as Biblical leadership's Foundation, Form, Fundamentals and Function helps draw application for the small church. The purpose is not to develop an exhaustive description and study of biblical leadership. Rather, the purpose is to acknowledge God's design for church organization and spiritual leadership. A compilation of material on church organization from well studied authors on this subject helps to understand God's design in these areas. Biblical Leadership: The Foundation A foundation is extremely important to a house. The whole structure relies upon the solidity of the foundation. It is no surprise that Jesus uses the foundation of a house to illustrate the need for a proper foundation in our spiritual lives (Matthew 7:24–27). All things in life need to be built on a foundation. For the Christian, the foundation is the Word of God. It should come as no surprise, the Bible also builds a foundation for leadership in the local church. The church is built upon the foundation laid out in the Bible. Ed Wharton teaches the concept of a distinctive pattern of New Testament Christianity in his book, The Church of Christ. The design for the church is found in the pattern laid out in Scripture. The Correlation between Parental Affection and Positive Adult Relationships Teena John The University of Texas at Tyler Research Methods, Fall 2016 The Correlation between Parental Affection and Future Adult Relationships A recent study showed that a person's upbringing is the core foundation and influence on future relationships. According to Currie (as cited in Tayler, 2015) it has been shown that a child's early encounters shape the brain foundation for future behaviors. Parent to child relationship is the core foundation in a child's development. (Butcher, R. Faster results by robotic missions would aid in speeding up the commercialization of space travel which would in turn help fund further exploration. Robotic space missions are more efficient and cost effective, which makes them a better choice going into the future of space exploration. Specifically with missions to Mars, it opens the possibility of one way trips to this exciting planet, which would dramatically decrease the amount of money needed to fund missions. Lawrence Krauss, an American–Canadian theoretical physicist, has stated that a large burden on manned space missions is having to transport fuel for two trips, there and back again (James Randi Foundation, 2011). Elon Musk has agreed with this argument in that he has said a rocket is essentially just a container for liquid oxygen and fuel, of which robots would need only half the fuel and require none of the oxygen for respiration purposes (Anderson, 2012). • 45. The Responsibility Of Organizational Effectiveness Leadership Style The responsibility of organizational effectiveness is in the hands of the institution's leaders. Leaders develop business strategies to maintain relevance or launch the business into the next generation or category. An important factor of strategic success is how managers and supervisors lead followers in a new direction. The foundation of the relationship will determine if the employees will give total commitment to the organization's strategy or do the minimal tasking. Organizational Effectiveness Organizations are continually evolving to meet the requests of the stakeholders, customers, and the environment. Strategic renewal is revamping an organization's business model, target audience, or products or services to meet the demands put on the leaders (Spector, 2013). Therefore, the success of the company's new strategy is dependent on the leaders' capability to support the new internal processes with the external requirements (Spector, 2013). Strategic Leadership Strategic leadership is the capability to incorporate forward–thinking ideas and concepts into a business's functions while simultaneously influencing employees to accept the new processes (Malewska & Sajdak, 2014). This disease can lead to other complications in the body such as anemia, poor nutritional health, high blood pressure, and nerve damage. These complications will begin to progress and show as CKD progresses to advanced stages. Early detection of this disease is essential when it comes to treatment. If CKD is diagnosed early enough the disease progression can be slowed down and managed. This disease will eventually lead to failure of the kidneys ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The amount of filtration done by the kidneys will obviously cause negative effects throughout the body if they are not functioning properly. CKD will cause the body to retain many excess fluids and waste that are normally filtered out to prevent internal harm throughout the body. With kidney disease there will be a rise in blood pressure due to the amount of extra fluid that is retained in the blood vessels. This fluid retention will cause the passageways to become narrow and make blood passage through the vessels increasingly difficult, in turn causing an increase in blood pressure. There will also be an increase in protein and blood found in the urine because it is not filtered out properly by the kidneys. Swelling will occur in the extremities and around the eyes because of the fluid retention as well. The longer the urine goes unfiltered the harder it may become to urinate due to pain or blockage or there may be more frequent night time urination (The National Kidney Foundation, 12). There are also a few tests that will show whether or not the kidneys are filtering the body's fluids as they should. A simple urinalysis can be done to detect protein or blood in the urine. This will alert the medical professionals to a possible problem with the proper functioning of the kidneys. There are also Blood Urea Nitrogen (BUN), creatinine, and glomerular filtration rate (GFR) tests that will measure the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The amazing thing about the Internet is that it "has the ability to erase all geological, languages, and time barriers so that students continue to learn long after leaving school" (Guillermo 2). The Internet also provides instant communication with millions of users worldwide. This allows the traditional classroom to be expanded literally across the world. Bringing the availability of the Web into the average classroom would allow children access to text, photographs, video clips, and sound from all over the world that might otherwise be unobtainable. What does the Web have to offer? This is a common question among new users. The answers to this question are vast and numerous. Teachers and students can communicate via e–mail, listservs, discussion groups and bulletin boards. Students can access everything from library catalogs to archives. All of this can be done in comfort of home. The student can travel to Italy online and visit the statue of David, or go to a library in Mexico ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 63. Cultural Barriers To The Romans The gospel is the foundation of the faith and without it there nothing. Romans 1:16 states "it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone that believes".1 There are a lot of churches which do missions and other fine works but they fail when proclaiming the gospel. They proclaim portions of which are non–offensive to people. Hell will not be talked about, sexual sin never mentioned or any other type of sin. The need is for healthy churches, who then in turn are more likely to send healthy mission teams out into the field. The world desperately needs an untainted gospel. The power of the gospel is the best tool to break down barriers. When the Apostle Paul wrote Romans, he was crossing cultural barriers, he stated in Romans 1: 14–15 "14 I am under obligation both to Greeks and to barbarians,[d] both to the wise and to the foolish. 15 So I am eager to preach the gospel to you also who are in Rome." 2 Paul is a great example of being a barrier breaker and being unashamed about his faith. Ripken knew what it meant to be a leader on the field, but he also knew what leadership off the field was. He became a part of many charitable organizations, but none more influential than the organization created by his own family. The Ripken children, including Cal Ripken, Jr., created the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation to carry on their father's dream and legacy. Cal Ripken, Sr. wanted to see children taught life lessons using the game of baseball, and that is exactly what the Cal Ripken, Sr. foundation did. Their mission statement was as follows: "The Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation helps to build character and teach critical life lessons to at–risk young people living in America's most distressed communities through baseball– and softball–themed programs" ("Mission"). During the 1995 season, Ripken had another encounter with yet another charity. In 1995, when Ripken broke Lou Gehrig's record for most consecutive games played, Ripken and the Orioles decided to join forces with the Lou Gehrig Fund. Relatively, how much more? The well water from Wilton has a larger amount of Ca 2+/Mg 2+ compared to the Elk Grove tap water. Relatively, it's approximately twice harder because 28 drops of EDTA is added to Wilton well water in order to make it turns blue while it only take 16 drops to changes color of Elk Grove tap water. 2) EDTA is often added to shampoo. Can you suggest why? EDTA is added to shampoo to take away the calcium and magnesium that exists. The shampoo will then lather and creates more bubbles; that's greater to bathe in. 3) Pots and pans used for boiling water often develop a coating of scale in homes that use hard water. What might this scale be? The scale might be magnesium and calcium. After the water reaches its boiling point, all the water molecules would turns into gas evaporates, left the solid magnesium and calcium at the bottom of the pans. 4) Why might the water of one region be much harder than another? The water of different region has different hardness level because water comes from different sources of underground aquifers. The amount of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 69. Language, And A Better Understanding Kevin Yousif Mr. Brown AP English Language and Composition 17 November 2015 Language, and a Better Understanding Language is a topic that will never cease to adapt, from slang being developed in suburbs of urban cities, to new additions to the Oxford dictionary. We, students of English, use different concepts of language almost everyday and most of the time we don't even realize it. To get a better understanding of the English language and concepts developed within it, one would turn to look at the arguments of scholars including George Orwell, Nancy Mairs, S.I. Hayakawa, Nicholas Carr, and the dispute of the Sunlight Foundation and Senator Mike Quigley. All of these authors have an argument for how language is being developed and molded into this day and age, and for the modern English student, our questions and curiosities will be looked into furthermore as the topics presented by these scholars are formulated. One recurring concept presented by George Orwell in Politics and the English Language is how language corrupts thought and how thought can also corrupt language. Or well states "The English language becomes ugly and inaccurate because our thoughts are foolish, but the slovenliness of our language makes it easier for us to have foolish thoughts" (Politics and the English Language, Orwell). I truly believe that this is the case. The repetitive process is often difficult to break because bad habits provide us with convenient and tasteful sentence structure. However ... Would it be appropriate to consider treating this patient with tissue plasminogen activator (tPA, alteplase)? How does this drug work? Treating Mrs Smith with tissue plasminogen activator (tPA) or alteplase would be advisable after the evidence from the magnetic resonance imagery (MRI) scan confirmed no haemorrhagic conditions existed, even though the presenting symptoms greatly suggest a transient ischaemic attack (TIA) has occurred (Brain Foundation 2011). Tissue plasminogen activator is a fibrinolytic drug which is used to treat thromboembolic disorders, such as ischaemic strokes. These agents initiate secondary fibrinolysis to occur; altering the haemostatic capability. The primary purpose of this agent is to clear occluded blood vessels within the systemic circulation (Bryant & Knights 2011, pp.534–536). The occlusion, caused by a haemostatic plug or thrombus is comprised of a fibrous protein called fibrin. This protein polymerises to create a tightly woven mesh, trapping platelets within the fibrin fibre meshwork, resulting in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Flea, By Andrew Marvell John Donne 's, "The Flea," and Andrew Marvell's To His Coy Mistress are persuasive poem in which the speaker is attempting to establish a sexual union with his significant other. These poems is spoken by a male lover to his female beloved as an attempt to convince her to sleep with him. John Donne and Marvell brings out and shapes this meaning through his collective use of conceit, rhythm, and rhyme scheme. The basic theme of the poems is the speaker's need to turn his "coy mistress" into a "willing mistress". Donne uses the flea as a conceit, to represent a sexual union with his significant other. Marvell using his way with words to convince his lover to a sexual union. In the first stanza in The Flea, a flea bites the speaker and woman. He responds to this incident by saying, "And in this flea our bloods mingled be." (line 4). He is suggesting that they are united in this flea and would equally be united in intimacy. In the first stanza of "To His Coy Mistress", the speaker tells his woman that if they had more time and space that her coyness wouldn't be a crime. He says this, "Had we but World enough, and Time, This coyness lady were no crime". (line 1,2) Marvell also would compliment her and admire her. In the "Flea", the speaker tries to marry the man and woman while in "To His Coy Mistress" the man is not trying to marry the Duncan 2 two but trying to get the lady to sleep with him by using time.
