3. Workspace
This is the student card that I will edit into the
video when I have selected which part of the
clip It shall appear. I will use the camera tracker
to create dots on the screen which will help me
select which part of the screen the card will
appear
This is a collection of clips that I
may use or have used for either
the text message effect or
editing in the student card. In
the case of this, I am choosing
out of all these clips which one I
will use for the card effect
This is where I stored all my footage
before importing into after effects
4. Sequence Setup
Camera tracker is processing the
footage before adding in dots to draw
and Add in the phone message.
Camera has finished tracking and
now the footage is importing to
premiere as you can see from the
loading bar it is 3 quarters away
from fully loading
Phone composition
Message. Now the
Viewer knows what the
message reads with out
the actor telling them.
5. Sequence Setup
You Import assets by selecting file
And click import and then it shall start
Loading for a couple of minutes.
You then can go on to After effects
To find you saved psd folder to add it to you project.
6. Key Framing
Key framing helps you pin point where about in your chosen clip do you want your composition
to happen. The annotated dots in the screen shots are where the composition will happen in the
video and you can move them about or select some new pins using the pin tool to help to place
your composition in other sections of your video.
Where the composition
starts
Where it ends
7. Layers
The tracker composition is what I use to not only
make the phone message visible but also help it
appear in a transition. Underneath where it says
effects you can see that there are many different
options I can use to make the phone message
appear visible. The transition pelton which is at
96% tells me what percentage the message is
appearing. If it was at 100% the message wouldn’t
be visible however it will be when the percentage
reads at 0%. The wipe angle transitions into the
scene.
If you click the arrow next to transform you will see that there are
now many different options at your disposal in terms of how you
want to scale your edited image as well as rotate the image. Anchor
point helps it move the image left or right. Position helps you move
it up or down. Orientation allows you to spin in it around in a 3D
angle. The rotation helps you to squeeze it around as well as turn
or spin it around into a angle of your choice. The Material options
Simply allow you to edit your image into a transition of your choice.
The 3D tracker camera and the file underneath applies to the
footage and the message bubble I made in Photoshop. Tracker
composition helps me combine the 2 things together.
8. Technique:
Original raw image of Parrot.
Copied and edited image of
Tree trunk and removed white
Edges using Polygonal lasso tool.
The tree is the layer
Selected whilst the
Everything around it
Including the background
Is blanked out.
9. Technique:
A Photoshop version of my image before I add it in to after effects. The
Tree has obviously been placed on top of the image but I will make it look
More seamless when I add it into after effects.
10. Technique:
The Tree has now been added into after effects I have
used Gaussian blur to blur out the tree and make it more
seamless and less something I have added in from
Google images. This is what I have used for both of my
composited images.
Puppet Pin too which
helps me pin point which
part of the body I want
the beak to move
3D tools.
11. Technique:
Puppet pins have been added in.
This makes it easier for me to move the
beak or other body parts to create
subtle movements that look real. The
more dots you add the more you are
realistic a subtle the movements will
look.
The movements of the bird begin from the first black dot ends in the dot
At the end.
12. Technique:
For this composition I have used the pen tool to separate the area between the college and the
Sky. When this was done I downloaded this image of dark clouds which I found in Google
images. I imported it into after effects and then started selecting. I then masked it so that I can
replace the sky with the darker one I downloaded. I then added in some color correction so
that the image below matches with the sky. I did this by selecting the RGB curves on color
correction and moved the red lines and white lines until the color of the clip matched with the
color of the sky.
Pen tool selection dots. RGB curves.
