(usually of large number of people during a violent event)
To steal from shops and houses.
Example:
During the riot, shops were looted and cars damaged.
3. ROB
To take money or property illegally from a place, organization, or
person, often using violence.
Examples:
The gang robbed three Banks over a period of six months.
He has been robbed of his wallet and car key.
4. BURGLE
To enter a building illegally and steal things.
Examples:
The house was burgled while they were all sleeping.
On their return they discovered that their house had been burgled.
5. PINCH
To steal or take something without permission.
Example:
I saw my little sister pinching my mother’s credit card from her wallet.
6. pilfer
To steal things of small value.
Examples:
My dog has just pilfered my slices of bread for my sandwich.
She pilfered a chocolate bar from the Candy shop.
