We use comparatives and superlatives of adjectives
to compare things.

many times does she compare three or more things?
I love shopping in my local shopping centre. It’s more
convenient than the shopping streets outside, and it’s
nicer in cold or wet weather. There’s a bigger choice
of things to buy, too. My favourite shop there is
Gadget Express. It isn’t as cheap as TechWorld, but
its assistants are the friendliest in town and the most
helpful, too. I love it!

We use comparatives + than to compare
two people or things.
We use superlatives to compare one
thing in a group with all the others in that
group.
They’re taller than me.
She’s the nicest person I know.
We usually use the before superlative
adjectives. But we don’t use the after
my/your/his/her/its/our/their.
He’s their youngest son.
He’s their the youngest son.
This book isn’t as interesting as the
other one.
We can also compare things using
(not ) as … as.

6. Look at the information then complete the sentences. Use the comparative or
superlative form of the adjectives in brackets or as … as.
