6. HOW WE IMPLEMENTED A GLOBAL INTEGRATION
PLATFORM FOR DR. AGARWAL'S HIS / EMR / ERP
LANDSCAPE - Healthcare Case Study
The Requirement
The client is a global leader in eye care. The implementation of a comprehensive HIS/EMR that could connect
various enterprise systems across its IT landscape, catering to HIS, EMR, Procurement, Financials and more.
The Solution
• The HIS was enhanced to generate transactions relevant to financial ERP and post it to Mule. Mule would
then map the HMS JSON to Oracle Netsuite format and proceed to integrate with Netsuite using the
Netsuite connector.
• Using the Quartz Connector in Mule, data requested by the HMS are fetched from the Mule Database at
specified time intervals and integration is done with the Netsuite system.
• As different EMRs supported different standards like HL7, FHIR, EDI, etc., we leveraged MuleSoft’s
Anypoint Connectors to handle HL7 messages by using HL7 MLLP connector to send and receive
messages, and the HL7 EDI connector to interpret the HL7 message.

e-Commerce Case Study
The Requirement
A leading e-commerce company wanted to build an AI-based conversational chatbot platform that could
intelligently and contextually engage customers and convert them into buyers.
The Solution
• We designed a powerful chatbot platform that could retrieve information about the customer and had
generative answering capabilities.
• For retrieval capabilities, the chatbot has to be integrated with many other applications like CDP
(Customer Data Platform), Personal Information Manager (PIM), Inventory etc. We integrated these
applications using Mulesoft’s Anypoint Platform.
• For generative capabilities, we built an API serving layer over the AI/ML engines and integrated it with
the answering engine. The intent engine understood the customer’s queries and mapped it to the
appropriate API. The API itself was exposed through the Anypoint Platform and invoked it with the right
parameters extracted by the entity engine. 7

The Requirement
The client is a global MedTech company and runs a global program to treat Non Communicable Diseases. The
client had to integrate with a wide range of EMR systems run by government agencies to import patient data
on to its Cloud platform. As it involves PII and ePHI data, security and privacy are of paramount importance.
The Solution
• A cross-functional team of Data Architects, Data Engineers, Mule Integration Engineers and DevOps
Specialists designed and developed an end-to-end HIPAA compliant Cloud Data Warehouse, with
integration capability to collect data from multiple EMR systems. We also implemented a comprehensive
data pipeline to transform, anonymize and handle the load.
