What is a blog?
A blog is an online platform, provided by a used blog host (such as wordpress.com
and blogger.com), in where you can publish a journal or a diary.
9. There is no character limitation in
this personal space you have online
and you are free to use it to post any
idea and opinion, using text, photos,
videos, links, hyperlinks, etc.
You can design the page as you want
and control the way your visitors see
it, the comments, and subscriptions.
Some blogging sites give you the
possibility to add plug-ins as well.

What is a blog?
10. We have Micro-Blogging (or Nano-Blogging) websites on the other hand. Websites
such as facebook.com and twitter.com provide you a personal space to post
whatever content you are willing to but with character limitation which is usually
140 per post. You can choose who you want your posts to be seen by. People can
like, comment, and sometimes share your posts if you give them the access.

limitations of characters while there is no
such limitation in blogging.

ways.
Blogging and Micro-Blogging
What are the differences?
13. 3. In micro-blogging websites we get
updates minute by minute or even every
few seconds, while in a blog, we get the
update whenever the author posts a new
content.
4. Micro-blogging sites are much more
active, as a blog may take long to be seen
by other people depending on the
content the admin shares.
Blogging and Micro-Blogging
What are the differences?
14. 5. The main purpose of micro-blogging is
to keep your audience and friends
updated with your daily activities and
what you post, while a blogging website is
not meant to do that.
Blogging and Micro-Blogging
What are the differences?

collaborate with others and increase their confidence.
