2. WHAT IS ALERTBROWAD?
• ALERTBROWARD is the County’s Mass Emergency Notification
System to Employees and the Public for Non-Courthouse and BSO

* A new vendor is being explored for the Computer Scroll Banner. This will be a future enhancement. 2

3. WHAT IS NEW ABOUT ALERTBROWAD?
• VoIP (Phone) Broadcast System
• Allows for a Mass Emergency Notification Announcement to
be disseminated via County management landline phones
• All County facilities have been separated into Zones and
Segments
• Notices can be disseminated by Facilities in the following
manner:
• Countywide
• Zones
• Segments
• Some Individual Facilities

4. VoIP (PHONE) BROADCAST SYSTEM
• VoIP (phone) broadcast system is already functional at the
Courthouse locations
• Testing is currently occurring with County facilities
• Notifications including date and time for testing will be
distributed to building occupants
• Feedback is needed to ensure system is functioning as
designed

5. NEXT STEPS WITH ALERTBROWARD
• Work with Internal Security Committee on progression steps for
all systems
• Identify and train appropriate County staff on system use
• Update Policies and Procedures
• Develop an employee communication program
• Establish a quarterly testing schedule for all County facilities
• Ensure all emergency incidents are reported to Emergency
Management Duty Officer at (954)- 831-3911

GOAL:
Ensure County Employees and Stakeholders are
informed of emergency incidents by providing multiple
avenues to disseminate mass notification messages
through multiple mediums.
