their bones”. Another states: “Exterminating the
roaches ... exterminating the Hamas rats. ... Share this
beauty”. Yet another shows a vehicle repeatedly
running over a Palestinian titled: “Run him over run him
over!”. This is listed in this section rather than in the
‘militants’ section as this is an official IDF channel. It
appears to encourage and celebrate violence by regular
IDF soldiers.

learn the lessons. Right now, one goal: Nakba! A Nakba
that will overshadow the Nakba of 48. A Nakba in Gaza
and a Nakba for anyone who dares to join!

In Mann’s phraseology, core constituencies
create an atmosphere that provides both tacit
and explicit support for dehumanisation,
genocidal intent, and ethnic cleansing. This can
be through normalising such language and
opinions. It will also include popularising and
the sharing of hateful thoughts and in the
modern era, memes and figures of speech.
It is vital that genocidal intent is not merely
understood as a top-down phenomenon. If that
were the case, there would be no popular
support or impetus for it. Rather the three
groups interact with one another in complex
ways and can erupt into extremes in the right
circumstances. In this list, examples which
indicate a febrile atmosphere that could be
conducive to ethnic cleansing, genocidal intent,
and dehumanisation are provided.
