• Surveillance report Completeness Rate:
The proportion of health facilities that
reported surveillance data was 100%, which
is above the minimum requirement (80%).
• Surveillance Timeliness Rate: The
proportion of health facilities that reported
the surveillance data timely was also above
the minimum requirement i.e., 100%.
• Malaria: During the week a total of 1192
health facilities visitors were suspected and
examined for malaria of which 5.7 % (68
cases) were confirmed and treated as
malaria which was 5 cases less than last
week and no inpatient death was reported.
• Dysentery: A total of 8 cases, which is 3
case less than last week, and no death were
reported in the week.
• Typhoid fever: 1 cases, which is 3 case less
than last week and no death were reported in
the week.
• Epidemic Typhus: 4 cases were reported
in this week.
• Relapsing Fever : 0 cases were reported
• Severe Acute Malnutrition: A total of 21 cases
where 14 were inpatient. No death was reported in
the week.
• Suspected Meningitis Cases: no suspected
Meningitis case, was reported in the week.
• Measles: 4 suspected measles case were reported
during this week.
• Maternal death : no maternal death was reported.
• Perinatal Death: 1 Perinatal Death were reported
this week
• Neonatal Tetanus: No neonatal Tetanus case &
death was reported during the week.
• Scabies: 5 scabies cases were reported during the
week.
• All case death: 3 death was reported from the pilot
site (legehare HC).
• Zero Reports: Zero suspected Anthrax, Rabies
exposure, Acute Watery Diarrhea, Avian Human
Influenza, Dracunculiases/ Guineaworm, Pandemic
Influenza, SARS,Smallpox, Yellow Fever, and
Viral hemorrhagic fever were reported during the
week.

The Administration’s surveillance completeness rate was 100% in the week that is above the
minimum requirement (80%) and 9 operational weredas have achieved above the minimum
requirement in the week as indicated in figure one below.

Similarly, the Administrations surveillance timeliness rate was 100% in the week, which is
above the minimum requirement (80%) as indicated in figure two below

1. Malaria
• During the week a total of 1192 health facilities visitors were suspected and fever
examined for malaria of which 5.7 % (68 cases) were confirmed and treated as malaria .
Among this 69.12 % (47) were due to plasmodium falciparum and 30.88 % (21 cases)
were due to plasmodium vivax. Slide positivity rate was 5.7 % in the week.
• As indicated in figure three below, the number of cases reported in week 10 of 2023 is
declining once again. it is less than its threshold , preventive intervention should
continue. Immediate case management should also continue. Precaution should be
made. week 19.16% decrement of suspected fever examined illness , malaria decreased
by 18.63% which is mainly due to intensive intervention in the last few weeks , keep the
good work

The highest malaria cases were reported from Goro HC 18 case , Followed by 9 cases from
GGHC, 8 case from GGHC, 6 case, Sabiyan Hospspital with one inpatient, 7 cases from
DDHC, 3 cases from MJHC, 2 cases from LHHC and 5 from ZHC, 1 outpatient case from
Dilchora hosp,. No death were reported during the week. 7 HC reported zero case.
Comparison of Malaria cases in the last three consequent weeks with its threshold are
indicated in figure four below.

2. Dysentery
During the week, 8 dysentery cases were reported, which is less than last week.
As indicated in figure five below, the number of cases reported during the week
is less than the same week reported during 2021, 2022 (6,3 case) respectively.

During the week, 1 cases of typhoid fever with no inpatient and no death
were reported.

4. Epidemic Typhus
4 suspected cases were reported this week.
5. Relapsing Fever: 0 cases were reported this week.
6. Severe Acute Malnutrition
During the week, 21 cases, 7( 33.33 %) OPD and 14 ( 66.66%) IPD with one
deaths were reported. which showed a 13 cases decrement as compared to
last week. The severe acute malnutrition cases reported during this week is
still the highest among this week of 2020, 2021,2022 ( 14,14,20)
respectively.

6 cases from Dilchora Hospi where all are inpatient one death, 4 inpatient case
from Sabiyan hospital, 4 case from GHC, 2 from KHC. 9 HF reported zero cases

GGHC,3 from LHHC.

10. Prenatal death : 1 prenatal death from Dilchora hospital were reported this week .
11. Neonatal Death : no neonatal Tetanus case and death were reported
12. All case death: 3 death were reported from Legahare Health canter. LHC is the pilot site
for this report.
12. Dengue Fever: no suspected cases of dengue fever were reported this week.
