Shalmaneser III 858-824 In 841 BC,
Shalmaneser
campaigned against
Hadadezer's
successor Hazael,
forcing him to take
refuge within the walls
of his capital.[6]
While Shalmaneser
was unable to capture
Damascus, he
devastated its territory,
and Jehu of Israel
(whose ambassadors
are represented on
the Black Obelisk),
together with
the Phoenician cities,
sent tribute to him in
perhaps 841 BC.[7]
Babylonia had already
been conquered,
including the areas
occupied by
the Chaldaeans,
and the Babylonian
king had been put to
death.[8]

Struggle for Succession
Shamshi-Adad's reign
saw a serious struggle
for succession.
The revolt was led by
Shamshi-Adad's
brother
Assur-danin-pal, and
broken out already by
826 BC.
The rebellious brother,
according to Shamshi-
Adad's own
inscriptions,
succeeded in bringing
to his side 27 important
3. cities,
including Nineveh.
The rebellion lasted
until 820
BC,[6]
weakening the
Assyrian empire and its
ruler;
this weakness
continued to
reverberate in the
kingdom until the
reforms of Tiglath-
Pileser III.
The extent of Shamshi-
Adad's victory was
such that he obtained
the submission of the
Babylonian king
and, after obtaining
booty from several
Babylonian cities,
he returned to Assyria
with palace treasures
and gods (i.e. the
sacred representation
of the gods).[7]

Joel’s Prophecy is directed to Jerusalem.
King in Judah is probably Athaliah or the beginning reign of Joash.
He was a good king while as his mentor Jehorida the Priest was living.
(He died about 820.)
The message of the book is mostly to the Priest and their need for a strong
leadership to fill the void left by Jehoida’s death.
From chapter 1-2:17 Joel proposes one question after the next.
The answer come by God 2:18-end of the book.
Joel 1:1-4
1The word of the LORD that came to Joel the son of Pethuel.
2Hear this, ye old men, and give ear, all ye inhabitants of the land. Hath
this been in your days, or even in the days of your fathers?
3Tell ye your children of it, and let your children tell their children, and
their children another generation.
6. 4That which the palmerworm hath left hath the locust eaten; and that
which the locust hath left hath the cankerworm eaten; and that which the
cankerworm hath left hath the caterpiller eaten.
Hos 2:12 And I will destroy her vines and her fig trees, whereof she
hath said, These are my rewards that my lovers have given me: and I
will make them a forest, and the beasts of the field shall eat them.
Hos 13:16 Samaria shall become desolate; for she hath rebelled
against her God: they shall fall by the sword: their infants shall be
dashed in pieces, and their women with child shall be ripped up.
Exod 10:4 Else, if thou refuse to let my people go, behold, to
morrow will I bring the locusts into thy coast:
1Kgs 8:35 When heaven is shut up, and there is no rain, because
they have sinned against thee; if they pray toward this place, and
confess thy name, and turn from their sin, when thou afflictest them:
1Kgs 8:37 If there be in the land famine, if there be pestilence,
blasting, mildew, locust, or if there be caterpiller; if their enemy
besiege them in the land of their cities; whatsoever plague,
whatsoever sickness there be;
2Chr 7:13-14 13 If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I
command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence
among my people; 14 If my people, which are called by my name,
shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from
their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive
their sin, and will heal their land.
7. Joel 1:5
5Awake, ye drunkards, and weep; and howl, all ye drinkers of wine,
because of the new wine; for it is cut off from your mouth.
Information: locust
Illumination: preacher
Application: It’s your fault “wake up”
Joel 1:6-7 6 For a nation is come up upon my land, strong, and
without number, whose teeth are the teeth of a lion, and he hath the
cheek teeth of a great lion. 7 He hath laid my vine waste, and barked
my fig tree: he hath made it clean bare, and cast it away; the branches
thereof are made white.
Joel 1:13
13Gird yourselves, and lament, ye priests: howl, ye ministers of the
altar: come, lie all night in sackcloth, ye ministers of my God: for the
meat offering and the drink offering is withholden from the house of your
God.
You have with holden God what he is due, and he is taking what you
need.
Joel 1:15-16
15Alas for the day! for the day of the LORD is at hand, and as a
destruction from the Almighty shall it come.
16Is not the meat cut off before our eyes, yea, joy and gladness from the
house of our God?
8. Joel 2:1
1Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain:
let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the LORD
cometh, for it is nigh at hand;
Call the people to the alter.
Joel 2:15 Blow the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn
assembly:
Joel 2:2
2A day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick
darkness, as the morning spread upon the mountains: a great people and a
strong; there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after it,
even to the years of many generations.
Jerusalem has been destroyed 3 times but all three have been armies just
like one another.
When it is destroyed before the Day of the Lord, it will be unlike any
human army.
Joel 2:3 A fire devoureth before them; and behind them a flame
burneth: the land is as the garden of Eden before them, and behind
them a desolate wilderness; yea, and nothing shall escape them.
Rev 19:11-18 11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white
horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in
righteousness he doth judge and make war. 12 His eyes were as a
flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name
written, that no man knew, but he himself. 13 And he was clothed
9. with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of
God. 14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon
white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. 15 And out of
his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the
nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the
winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. 16 And he
hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF
KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. 17 And I saw an angel standing
in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that
fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto
the supper of the great God; 18 That ye may eat the flesh of kings,
and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh
of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both
free and bond, both small and great.
--Part2
Joel 2:4-5
4The appearance of them is as the appearance of horses; and as
horsemen, so shall they run.
5Like the noise of chariots on the tops of mountains shall they leap, like
the noise of a flame of fire that devoureth the stubble, as a strong people
set in battle array.
2Kgs 2:11 And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked,
that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire,
and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind
into heaven.
10. 2Kgs 6:17 And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open
his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the
young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of
horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.
Zech 14:1-3 1 Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, and thy spoil
shall be divided in the midst of thee. 2 For I will gather all nations
against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the
houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go
forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off
from the city. 3 Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against
those nations,
as when he fought in the day of battle.
Exod 15:3 The LORD is a man of war: the LORD is his name.
Exod 15:14-18 14 The people shall hear, and be afraid:
sorrow shall take hold on the inhabitants of Palestina.
15 Then the dukes of Edom shall be amazed; the mighty men
of Moab, trembling shall take hold upon them; all the
inhabitants of Canaan shall melt away.
16 Fear and dread shall fall upon them; by the greatness of
thine arm they shall be as still as a stone; till thy people pass
over, O LORD, till the people pass over, which thou hast
purchased. 17 Thou shalt bring them in, and plant them in the
mountain of thine inheritance, in the place, O LORD, which
thou hast made for thee to dwell in, in the Sanctuary, O Lord,
which thy hands have established.
18
The LORD shall reign for ever and ever.
11. Hab 3:11 The sun and moon stood still in their habitation: at
the light of thine arrows they went, and at the shining of thy
glittering spear.
Josh 10:12-13 12 Then spake Joshua to the LORD in the day
when the LORD delivered up the Amorites before the
children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand
thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon.
13 And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the
people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this
written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst
of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day.
14
And there was no day like that before it or after it, that
the LORD hearkened unto the voice of a man: for the
LORD fought for Israel.
Isa 63:1-3 1 Who is this that cometh from Edom, with dyed
garments from Bozrah? this that is glorious in his apparel,
travelling in the greatness of his strength? I that speak in
righteousness, mighty to save. 2 Wherefore art thou red in thine
apparel, and thy garments like him that treadeth in the winefat?
3 I have trodden the winepress alone;
and of the people there was none with me:
for I will tread them in mine anger, and trample them in my
fury; and their blood shall be sprinkled upon my garments, and
I will stain all my raiment.
Hab 3:3-6 3 God came from Teman, and the Holy One from
mount Paran. Selah. His glory covered the heavens, and the
earth was full of his praise. 4 And his brightness was as the
12. light; he had horns coming out of his hand: and there was the
hiding of his power. 5 Before him went the pestilence, and
burning coals went forth at his feet. 6 He stood, and measured
the earth: he beheld, and drove asunder the nations; and the
everlasting mountains were scattered, the perpetual hills did
bow: his ways are everlasting.
Joel 3:9-11 9 Proclaim ye this among the Gentiles; Prepare
war, wake up the mighty men, let all the men of war draw near;
let them come up:
10 Beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruninghooks
into spears: let the weak say, I am strong.
Isa 2:4 And he shall judge among the nations, and shall
rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords
into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks:
nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall
they learn war any more. Mil.
Joel 3:10 Beat your plowshares into swords, and your
pruninghooks into spears: let the weak say, I am strong.
Trib
Mic 4:3 And he shall judge among many people, and
rebuke strong nations afar off; and they shall beat their
swords into plowshares, and their spears into
pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up a sword against
nation, neither shall they learn war any more. Eternity
13. 11 Assemble yourselves, and come, all ye heathen, and gather
yourselves together round about: thither cause thy mighty ones
to come down, O LORD.
Joel 2:6
6Before their face the people shall be much pained: all faces shall gather
blackness.
Zech 14:12 And this shall be the plague wherewith the LORD will
smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem; Their flesh
shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes
shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume
away in their mouth.
Rev 16:10-11 10 And the fifth angel poured out his vial upon the
seat of the beast; and his kingdom was full of darkness; and they
gnawed their tongues for pain, 11 And blasphemed the God of
heaven because of their pains and their sores, and repented not of
their deeds.
Joel 2:7
7They shall run like mighty men; they shall climb the wall like men of
war; and they shall march every one on his ways, and they shall not break
their ranks:
These troops match David’s troops (1 Chron. 12:22),
14. 1Chr 12:22 For at that time day by day there came to David to help
him, until it was a great host, like the host of God.
where David is a type of the Angel of the LORD (1 Sam. 25:28; 2 Sam.
14:17);
1Sam 25:28 I pray thee, forgive the trespass of thine handmaid: for
the LORD will certainly make my lord a sure house; because my lord
fighteth the battles of the LORD, and evil hath not been found in thee
all thy days.
2Sam 14:17 Then thine handmaid said, The word of my lord the
king shall now be comfortable: for as an angel of God, so is my
lord the king to discern good and bad: therefore the LORD thy God
will be with thee.
and they march as Joshua’s troops (Josh. 6:5),
Josh 6:5 And it shall come to pass, that when they make a long blast
with the ram's horn, and when ye hear the sound of the trumpet, all
the people shall shout with a great shout; and the wall of the city
shall fall down flat, and the people shall ascend up every man
straight before him.
straight forward to attack an accursed city (Rev. 17; Josh. 6:18).
Josh 6:18 And ye, in any wise keep yourselves from the accursed
thing, lest ye make yourselves accursed, when ye take of the accursed
thing, and make the camp of Israel a curse, and trouble it.
15. Rev 17:14-15 14 These shall make war with the Lamb, and the
Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of
kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and
faithful. 15 And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest,
where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and
tongues.
--Part3
Joel 2:7-8
7They shall run like mighty men; they shall climb the wall like men of
war; and they shall march every one on his ways, and they shall not break
their ranks:
8Neither shall one thrust another; they shall walk every one in his path:
and when they fall upon the sword, they shall not be wounded.
Ever see a locust wounded by falling on a sword? Or did you ever
hear of one “failing on a sword” for that matter?
Job 33:18 He keepeth back his soul from the pit, and his life
from perishing by the sword.
Joel 2:9
9They shall run to and fro in the city; they shall run upon the wall, they
shall climb up upon the houses; they shall enter in at the windows like a
thief.
Matt 24:43 But know this, that if the goodman of the house had
known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched,
and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.
16. Rev 16:15 Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth,
and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his
shame.
1Thess 5:2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord
so cometh as a thief in the night.
Joel 2:10
10The earth shall quake before them; the heavens shall tremble: the sun
and the moon shall be dark, and the stars shall withdraw their shining:
Rev 6:12 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo,
there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as
sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;
Rev 8:5 And the angel took the censer, and filled it with fire of the
altar, and cast it into the earth: and there were voices, and
thunderings, and lightnings, and an earthquake.
Rev 11:13 And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and
the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men
seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to
the God of heaven.
Rev 11:19 And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there
was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were
lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and
great hail.
17. Rev 16:18-19 18 And there were voices, and thunders, and
lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since
men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great. 19
And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the
nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to
give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath.
Joel 2:11
11And the LORD shall utter his voice before his army: for his camp is
very great: for he is strong that executeth his word: for the day of the
LORD is great and very terrible; and who can abide it?
The “army” of Joel 2:1–11 is the Body of Christ (Song of Sol. 6:13),
Song 6:13 Return, return, O Shulamite; return, return, that we may
look upon thee. What will ye see in the Shulamite? As it were the
company of two armies.
The white mule riders of Judges 5:10 who came out of the Tribulation
(Rev. 7:14, 19:14).
Judg 5:10 Speak, ye that ride on white asses, ye that sit in
judgment, and walk by the way.
When Jesus Christ returns to reign, there is someone sitting with
Him in judgment.
18. Matt 19:27-28 27 Then answered Peter and said unto
him, Behold, we have forsaken all, and followed thee; what
shall we have therefore?
28 And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That
ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the
Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall
sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
Rev 20:4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and
judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them
that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the
word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast,
neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their
foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned
with Christ a thousand years.
So when Jesus Christ returns, He comes back with two groups.
One rides on “white horses” and are members of the Bride of
Christ, “clothed in fine linen, white and clean”.
Rev 19:14 And the armies which were in heaven followed
him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and
clean.
Rev 19:8 And to her was granted that she should be
arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is
the righteousness of saints.
The other are “governors of Israel,” from the Gospels and the
Tribulation, who “ride on white asses.”
19. Those two groups are said to be “two armies” in Song of
Solomon 6:13.
Rev 7:14 And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me,
These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed
their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
Rev 19:14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him
upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
They ride through the blood (Psa. 68:23) of God’s enemies (Hab. 3:15).
Ps 68:23 That thy foot may be dipped in the blood of thine enemies,
and the tongue of thy dogs in the same.
Hab 3:15 Thou didst walk through the sea with thine horses,
through the heap of great waters.
Joel 2:1–11 is describing the glorified bodies of saved people who
have become like Christ (1 John 3:1–3; Phil. 3:21; Rom. 8:29) and
who are returning to earth with Him.
1John 3:1-3 1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath
bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God:
therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. 2
Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear
what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we
shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. 3 And every
man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is
pure.
20. Phil 3:21 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be
fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working
whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.
Rom 8:29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate
to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the
firstborn among many brethren.
Joel 2:12-13
12Therefore also now, saith the LORD, turn ye even to me with all your
heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning:
13And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the LORD
your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great
kindness, and repenteth him of the evil.
Ps 51:17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a
contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.
Ps 107:22 And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and
declare his works with rejoicing.
Mark 12:33 And to love him with all the heart, and with all the
understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to
love his neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings
and sacrifices.
Phil 4:18 But I have all, and abound: I am full, having received of
Epaphroditus the things which were sent from you, an odour of a
sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, wellpleasing to God.
Heb 13:16 But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with
such sacrifices God is well pleased.
Joel 2:13
21. …for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness,
and repenteth him of the evil.
Joel echoes
Moses (Exod. 34:7)
Exod 34:7 Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity
and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the
guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and
upon the children's children, unto the third and to the fourth
generation.
and Manasseh (2 Chron. 33:19)
2Chr 33:19 His prayer also, and how God was intreated of
him, and all his sin, and his trespass, and the places wherein he
built high places, and set up groves and graven images, before
he was humbled: behold, they are written among the sayings of
the seers.
and Jonah (Jonah 4:2).
Jonah 4:2 And he prayed unto the LORD, and said, I pray
thee, O LORD, was not this my saying, when I was yet in my
country? Therefore I fled before unto Tarshish: for I knew that
thou art a gracious God, and merciful, slow to anger, and of
great kindness, and repentest thee of the evil.
2Pet 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men
count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any
should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
22. Ezek 18:32 For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth,
saith the Lord GOD: wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye.
Hab 3:2 O LORD, I have heard thy speech, and was afraid: O
LORD, revive thy work in the midst of the years, in the midst of the
years make known; in wrath remember mercy.
Hos 11:8-9 8 How shall I give thee up, Ephraim? how shall I
deliver thee, Israel? how shall I make thee as Admah? how shall I set
thee as Zeboim? mine heart is turned within me, my repentings are
kindled together. 9 I will not execute the fierceness of mine anger, I
will not return to destroy Ephraim: for I am God, and not man; the
Holy One in the midst of thee: and I will not enter into the city.
--Part 4
Joel 2:12-13
12Therefore also now, saith the LORD, turn ye even to me with all your
heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning:
13And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the LORD
your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great
kindness, and repenteth him of the evil.
Joel 2:14
14Who knoweth if he will return and repent, and leave a blessing behind
him; even a meat offering and a drink offering unto the LORD your God?
These offerings were withheld because of crop failure.
23. Joel 1:12-13 12 The vine is dried up, and the fig tree
languisheth; the pomegranate tree, the palm tree also, and the
apple tree, even all the trees of the field, are withered: because
joy is withered away from the sons of men. 13 Gird yourselves,
and lament, ye priests: howl, ye ministers of the altar: come, lie
all night in sackcloth, ye ministers of my God: for the meat
offering and the drink offering is withholden from the house of
your God.
The idea is, perhaps God will change His mind about judgment and
leave some crops so that the temple offerings may resume.
Joel 2:14
14Who knoweth if he will return…

Rev 4:1 After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven:
and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with
me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must
be hereafter. Not a rapture, only a picture of it.
Rev 1:10 I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and heard behind me
a great voice, as of a trumpet,
24. Rev 1:19 Write the things which thou hast seen, and the things
which are, and the things which shall be hereafter;
Rev 2:10 Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the

have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give
thee a crown of life.
Rev 3:3 Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold
fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a
thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.
Rev 3:10 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will
keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the
world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.

Matt 24:43 But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known
in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would
not have suffered his house to be broken up.
Luke 12:39-40 39 And this know, that if the goodman of the
house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have
watched, and not have suffered his house to be broken through. 40
Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour
when ye think not.
25. Matt 26:55 In that same hour said Jesus to the multitudes, Are ye come
out as against a thief with swords and staves for to take me? I sat daily
with you teaching in the temple, and ye laid no hold on me.
Luke 22:52 Then Jesus said unto the chief priests, and captains of
the temple, and the elders, which were come to him, Be ye come out,
as against a thief, with swords and staves?
Rev 6:9-11 9 And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under
the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and
for the testimony which they held:
10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy
and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that
dwell on the earth?
11 And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was
said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until
their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be
killed as they were, should be fulfilled.
Trib. saints remain under the altar till raptured (like O.T. saints
in Abraham’s bosom).
Rev 7:9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man
could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and
tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed
with white robes, and palms in their hands;
The 144,00 were sealed in vs4 but not in heaven yet.
26. Rev 7:4 And I heard the number of them which were sealed:
and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand
of all the tribes of the children of Israel.
Matt 25:10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and
they that were ready went in with him TO THE MARRIAGE: and
the door was shut.
Rev 7:13-15 13 And one of the elders answered, saying unto
me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and
whence came they?
14 And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me,
These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have
washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the
Lamb.
15 Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him
day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne
shall dwell among them.
This group come out of “Great Trib.” They must have been
raptured with the 2 witnesses.
The 2 witnesses’ “prophecy” (Rev 11:3) for 3.5 yrs
Rev 11:3 And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and
they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore
days, clothed in sackcloth.
then are killed and lay dead for 3.5 days, (Rev 11:11)
27. Rev 11:11 And after three days and an half the Spirit of life
from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and
great fear fell upon them which saw them.
2 Witnesses show up 6.5 day after start of Trib (to
match the 10 days tribulation of the Church 2:10)
This puts the 2 witnesses 3.5 days into the Great Trib. before
being raptured out.

Rev 14:1-4 1 And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount
Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having
his Father's name written in their foreheads.
28. 2 And I heard a voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters,
and as the voice of a great thunder: and I heard the voice of
harpers harping with their harps:
3 And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and
before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that
song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were
redeemed from the earth.
4 These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are
virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he
goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits
unto God and to the Lamb.
Now the 144,000 are in heaven just before Babylon’s fall (Rev
14:8).
Rev 14:8 And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is
fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations
drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.
They are not under the altar so they must have been raptured
out.
It could be they are the only ones in this post trib. Rapture- no
one else is mentioned, as was stated in the “Mid Trib. Rapture”
of Rev 7:9.
Rev 7:9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no
man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people,
and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb,

Jas 5:17 Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he
prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the

Elijah will picture the first half and be raptured out,
just as the Tribulation saintswho are lookingfor Christ (Mat 25, Rev
14:14-16) in the first half of the Tribulationwillbe raptured out.
Job will picture the Jews who endure to the end
and receive the kingdom,
as Job received double after enduring his tribulationwithout leaving
his property.
Luke 17:28-29 28 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did
eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; 29 But
the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone
from heaven, and destroyed them all.

32. Rev 20:7-10 7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan
shall be loosed out of his prison,
8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four
quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to
battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.
9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the
camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down
from God out of heaven, and devoured them.
10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire
and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall
be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

Joel 2:15-17
15Blow the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly:
16Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders,
gather the children, and those that suck the breasts: let the bridegroom go
forth of his chamber, and the bride out of her closet.
17Let the priests, the ministers of the LORD, weep between the porch and
the altar, and let them say, Spare thy people, O LORD, and give not thine
heritage to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them: wherefore
should they say among the people, Where is their God?
Three interpretations; Spiritual, Historical and Prophetic
Spiritual
33. 1. “GATHER the people” (vs. 16). The New Testament church is
a people called out into a “gathering”—an ecclesia.
Historical and Prophetic
Spiritual
2. “Sanctify the CONGREGATION” (vs. 16). The local church is
a congregation, an assembly of people who have
“congregated” for a purpose.
Historical and Prophetic
“the congregation of Israel” 300 times in the Bible of
which only one is in the NT.
46 times in Ex.
49 times in Lev.
112 times in Num.
Spiritual
3. “Assemble the ELDERS” (vs. 16). This is the New Testament
name given to the ordained overseers of a flock (1 Peter 5:1;
Acts 20:17; and 1 Tim. 5:17).
Historical and Prophetic
Any sizeable congregation needs “elders” to help the
leader direct the people. The number God ordained for
Moses was 70 (Num. 11:25). In the Trib. The number is
first, two witnesses; then 144,000.
Spiritual
34. 4. “Gather the CHILDREN” (vs. 16). And so, the Christians are
sons or “children of God” and are called by that name (see
Rom. 8:16 and Eph. 5:1).
Historical and Prophetic
"the children of Israel" used 594 times.
Rev 21:12 And had a wall great and high, and had twelve
gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written
thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the
children of Israel:
Spiritual
5. “And the BRIDE out of her closet” (vs. 16). This is the New
Testament name (John 3:29) for “the Lamb’s wife” (Rev. 21:9).
Historical and Prophetic
Israel is the Bride of God-
Jer 31:31-33
31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will
make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the
house of Judah:
32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their
fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring
them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they
brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the
LORD:
33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the
house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will
35. put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their
hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.
Isa 54:5-17
5 For thy Maker is thine husband; the LORD of hosts is
his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The
God of the whole earth shall he be called.
6 For the LORD hath called thee as a woman forsaken and
grieved in spirit, and a wife of youth, when thou wast
refused, saith thy God.
7 For a small moment have I forsaken thee; but with great
mercies will I gather thee.
8 In a little wrath I hid my face from thee for a moment;
but with everlasting kindness will I have mercy on thee,
saith the LORD thy Redeemer.
Spiritual
6. “Let the PRIESTS” (vs. 17). Every child of God in the New
Testament is a priest (1 Pet. 2:9), chosen to offer “spiritual
sacrifices” (1 Pet. 2:5).
Rev 1:6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his
Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
Rev 5:10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we
shall reign on the earth.

1Pet 1:1-2
36. 1 Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the strangers scattered
throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,
2 Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father,

sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and

1Pet 2:5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house,

to God by Jesus Christ.
1Pet 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood,
an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the
praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his
marvellous light:

7. “The MINISTERS of the LORD” (vs. 17) is the designation
for Timothy, Apollos, Titus, Cephas, and Paul (1 Cor. 4:1; 3:5).
1Cor 3:5 Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by
whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man?
1Cor 4:1 Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ,
and stewards of the mysteries of God.
Historical and Prophetic
37. Isa 61:6 But ye shall be named the Priests of the LORD: men
shall call you the Ministers of our God: ye shall eat the riches of
the Gentiles, and in their glory shall ye boast yourselves.
Jer 33:21 Then may also my covenant be broken with David
my servant, that he should not have a son to reign upon his
throne; and with the Levites the priests, my ministers.
Ezek 44:10-11 10 And the Levites that are gone away far
from me, when Israel went astray, which went astray away from
me after their idols; they shall even bear their iniquity. 11 Yet
they shall be ministers in my sanctuary, having charge at the
gates of the house, and ministering to the house: they shall slay
the burnt offering and the sacrifice for the people, and they shall
stand before them to minister unto them.

Deut 32:43 Rejoice, O ye nations, with his people: for he will
avenge the blood of his servants, and will render vengeance to
his adversaries, and will be merciful unto his land, and to his

Isa 60:18 Violence shall no more be heard in thy land, wasting
nor destruction within thy borders; but thou shalt call thy walls
Salvation, and thy gates Praise.
38. Isa 60:21 Thy people also shall be all righteous: they shall
inherit the land for ever, the branch of my planting, the work of
my hands, that I may be glorified.
Jer 24:6 For I will set mine eyes upon them for good, and I will
bring them again to this land: and I will build them, and not
pull them down; and I will plant them, and not pluck them up.
Mal 3:12 And all nations shall call you blessed: for ye shall be
a delightsome land, saith the LORD of hosts.
Joel 2:19-20
19Yea, the LORD will answer and say unto his people, Behold, I will
send you corn, and wine, and oil, and ye shall be satisfied therewith: and I
will no more make you a reproach among the heathen:
20But I will remove far off from you the northern army, and will drive
him into a land barren and desolate, with his face toward the east sea, and
his hinder part toward the utmost sea, and his stink shall come up, and his
ill savour shall come up, because he hath done great things.
20). The fate of this army is that their rotting corpses will STINK because
they consist of mounted troops whose bodies will rot in Palestine (Ezek.
39:4,11–16).
Ezek 39:4 Thou shalt fall upon the mountains of Israel, thou, and all
thy bands, and the people that is with thee: I will give thee unto the
ravenous birds of every sort, and to the beasts of the field to be
devoured.
Ezek 39:11-16 11 And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will
give unto Gog a place there of graves in Israel, the valley of the
39. passengers on the east of the sea: and it shall stop the noses of the
passengers: and there shall they bury Gog and all his multitude: and
they shall call it The valley of Hamongog. 12 And seven months
shall the house of Israel be burying of them, that they may cleanse
the land. 13 Yea, all the people of the land shall bury them; and it
shall be to them a renown the day that I shall be glorified, saith the
Lord GOD. 14 And they shall sever out men of continual
employment, passing through the land to bury with the passengers
those that remain upon the face of the earth, to cleanse it: after the
end of seven months shall they search. 15 And the passengers that
pass through the land, when any seeth a man's bone, then shall he set
up a sign by it, till the buriers have buried it in the valley of
Hamongog. 16 And also the name of the city shall be Hamonah.
Thus shall they cleanse the land.
They are NOT the “Lord’s army”.
Jeremiah 1:14–15 is a foreshadowing of this attack, although
Nebuchadnezzar escaped the fate, which the Antichrist will not (see Rev.
19:18–21).
Jer 1:14-15 14 Then the LORD said unto me, Out of the north an
evil shall break forth upon all the inhabitants of the land.
15 For, lo, I will call all the families of the kingdoms of the north,
saith the LORD; and they shall come, and they shall set every one
his throne at the entering of the gates of Jerusalem, and against all
the walls thereof round about, and against all the cities of Judah.
Rev 19:18-21 18 That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh
of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and
40. of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond,
both small and great.
19 And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their
armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the
horse, and against his army.
20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that
wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had
received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image.
These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.
21 And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon
the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls
were filled with their flesh.
--Part6
Joel 2:21-23
21Fear not, O land; be glad and rejoice: for the LORD will do great
things.
22Be not afraid, ye beasts of the field: for the pastures of the wilderness
do spring, for the tree beareth her fruit, the fig tree and the vine do yield
their strength.
23Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God:
for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to
come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the
first month.
Joel 2:28
28And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit
upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your
old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:
41. “IN THE FIRST MONTH” twice as much rain as normally (1 Kings
18:45).
1Kgs 18:45 And it came to pass in the mean while, that the
heaven was black with clouds and wind, and there was a great
rain. And Ahab rode, and went to Jezreel.
This has nothing to do with the “poured out spirit” of verse 28; the
reference has to do with the land of Palestine getting WET after a
drought so that it will grow crops (vss. 22, 24).
Joel 2:22 Be not afraid, ye beasts of the field: for the pastures
of the wilderness do spring, for the tree beareth her fruit, the fig
tree and the vine do yield their strength.
Joel 2:24 And the floors shall be full of wheat, and the fats
shall overflow with wine and oil.
The LORD is not in the church or connected with the church, nor is
any Christian in the context;
instead, the Lord is “IN THE MIDST OF ISRAEL.”
Joel 2:27 And ye shall know that I am in the midst of Israel,
and that I am the LORD your God, and none else: and my
people shall never be ashamed.
42. The placement of the paragraph mark at verse 28 is so that no one
would mistake verse 23 as a reference to 28.
One verse is literal rain falling on dirt and the other
is the Spirit being poured upon ALL flesh—not just Israel (Acts
2:17).
Joel 2:23 Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the
LORD your God: for he hath given you the former rain
moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain,
the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month.
Joel 2:28 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour
out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters
shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young
men shall see visions:
Acts 2:17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith
God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your
sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young
men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
1. The Spirit was NOT poured out on “all flesh” anywhere in Acts 2.
The Spirit filled twelve men (or 120 disciples)
They received the gift of the Holy Ghost (Acts 2:38–39), but a
“pouring out” never took place.
43. Acts 2:38-39 38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be
baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the
remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy
Ghost. 39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children,
and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God
shall call.
2. The Spirit was not poured out on “all FLESH” anywhere in the
New Testament before, or after, Pentecost.
The born-again child of God is born of the Spirit and is “not in the
flesh” (Rom. 8:9).
Rom 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be
that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the
Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
The Spirit does not even touch the flesh of the believer at his new
birth (Col. 2:11–14), for this is a spiritual circumcision (Rom. 7:4–5)
which is done inside the body.
Col 2:11-14 11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the
circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of
the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: 12 Buried
with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through
the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the
dead. 13 And you, being dead in your sins and the
uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with
him, having forgiven you all trespasses; 14 Blotting out the
handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was
contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
44. Rom 7:4-5 4 Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become
dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married
to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we
should bring forth fruit unto God. 5 For when we were in the
flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in
our members to bring forth fruit unto death.
3. Nobody dreams any dreams in Acts 2 (vss. 17–18), and the words
“and they shall prophesy” are not in Joel 2:29.
Joel 2:29 And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids
in those days will I pour out my spirit.
4. Observe that:
a. There are no pillars of smoke in Acts 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, etc.
Joel 2:30
30And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth,
blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke.
b. There is no fulfillment of the dark sun or the bloody moon
anywhere in the Book of the Acts.
Joel 2:10 The earth shall quake before them; the heavens
shall tremble: the sun and the moon shall be dark, and the
stars shall withdraw their shining:
Joel 2:31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the
moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of
the LORD come.
45. Joel 3:15 The sun and the moon shall be darkened, and
the stars shall withdraw their shining.
c. Joel is speaking of deliverance in “Mount Zion” (Joel 2:32),
where the temple was and “in Jerusalem” (Joel 2:32), which
spiritually is called “Sodom and Egypt” (Rev. 11:8)!
Joel 2:32 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall
call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in
mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the
LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall
call.
Rev 11:8 And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of
the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and
Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.
Where does Joel speak of ANYONE talking in tongues?
Joel does not prophesy of rushing winds and cloven tongues of fire,
or even “other tongues,” anywhere in his entire book.
Joel 2:23-25
23Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God:
for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to
come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the
first month.
24And the floors shall be full of wheat, and the fats shall overflow with
wine and oil.
46. 25And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the
cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army
which I sent among you.
Joel 2:14 Who knoweth if he will return and repent, and leave a
blessing behind him; even a meat offering and a drink offering unto
the LORD your God?
Joel 2:26
26And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the
LORD your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you: and my people
shall never be ashamed.
These are Israelites, in the land of Israel, eating crops that were
grown as a result of a plentiful rain of literal WATER (vs. 23).
“my people”
Ps 14:4 Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up
my people as they eat bread, and call not upon the LORD.
Ps 14:7 Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! when
the LORD bringeth back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall
rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.
Jer 12:14 Thus saith the LORD against all mine evil neighbours,
that touch the inheritance which I have caused my people Israel to
inherit; Behold, I will pluck them out of their land, and pluck out the
house of Judah from among them.
47. Isa 65:19 And I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in my people:
and the voice of weeping shall be no more heard in her, nor the voice
of crying.
Amos 8:2 And he said, Amos, what seest thou? And I said, A basket
of summer fruit. Then said the LORD unto me, The end is come
upon my people of Israel; I will not again pass by them any more.

consulted, and what Balaam the son of Beor answered him from
Shittim unto Gilgal; that ye may know the righteousness of the
LORD.
Joel 2:27
27And ye shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the
LORD your God, and none else: and my people shall never be ashamed.
Ezek 39:28-29 28 Then shall they know that I am the LORD their
God, which caused them to be led into captivity among the heathen:
but I have gathered them unto their own land, and have left none of
them any more there.
29 Neither will I hide my face any more from them: for I have
poured out my spirit upon the house of Israel, saith the Lord GOD.
Isa 54:8-10 8 In a little wrath I hid my face from thee for a
moment; but with everlasting kindness will I have mercy on thee,
saith the LORD thy Redeemer.
9 For this is as the waters of Noah unto me: for as I have sworn that
the waters of Noah should no more go over the earth; so have I
sworn that I would not be wroth with thee, nor rebuke thee.
48. 10 For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my
kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my
peace be removed, saith the LORD that hath mercy on thee.
Acts 2:17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I
will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your
daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions,
and your old men shall dream dreams:
Joel 2:28-32
28And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon
all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men
shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:
29And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I
pour out my spirit.
30And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and
fire, and pillars of smoke.
31The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before
the great and the terrible day of the LORD come.
32And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the
LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be
deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD
shall call.
29And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days
will I pour out my spirit.

(2:30–31). [Cf. Zech. 12:10; Isa. 54:13; and Ezek. 39:29.]
49. Joel 3:1-2 1 For, behold, in those days, and in that time,
when I shall bring again the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem,
2 I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into
the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my
people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered
among the nations, and parted my land.
Zech 12:10 And I will pour upon the house of David,
and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace
and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom
they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one
mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for
him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.
Isa 54:13 And all thy children shall be taught of the
LORD; and great shall be the peace of thy children.

of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into
their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them
a God, and they shall be to me a people:
Acts 2:17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I
will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your
daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions,
and your old men shall dream dreams:
50. Acts 3:19-21 19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your
sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come
from the presence of the Lord; 20 And he shall send Jesus Christ,
which before was preached unto you: 21 Whom the heaven must
receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath
spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.
New Covenant:
Heb 8:8 For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days
come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the
house of Israel and with the house of Judah:
Heb 8:9-12 9 Not according to the covenant that I made with
their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead
them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my
covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord. 10 For this is
the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those
days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and
write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they
shall be to me a people: 11 And they shall not teach every man
his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the
Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest. 12
For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and
their iniquities will I remember no more.
Jer 31:31-32 31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I
will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the
house of Judah: 32 Not according to the covenant that I made with
their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out
51. of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was
an husband unto them, saith the LORD:
Isa 54:13 And all thy children shall be taught of the LORD; and
great shall be the peace of thy children.
Zech 13:3 And it shall come to pass, that when any shall yet
prophesy, then his father and his mother that begat him shall say unto
him, Thou shalt not live; for thou speakest lies in the name of the
LORD: and his father and his mother that begat him shall thrust him
through when he prophesieth.
Jer 31:33-34 33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make
with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put
my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be
their God, and they shall be my people. 34 And they shall teach no
more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying,
Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them
unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their
iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.
Jer 32:37-42 37 Behold, I will gather them out of all countries,
whither I have driven them in mine anger, and in my fury, and in
great wrath; and I will bring them again unto this place, and I will
cause them to dwell safely: 38 And they shall be my people, and I
will be their God: 39 And I will give them one heart, and one way,
that they may fear me for ever, for the good of them, and of their
children after them: 40 And I will make an everlasting covenant with
them, that I will not turn away from them, to do them good; but I will
put my fear in their hearts, that they shall not depart from me. 41
Yea, I will rejoice over them to do them good, and I will plant them
52. in this land assuredly with my whole heart and with my whole soul.
42 For thus saith the LORD; Like as I have brought all this great evil
upon this people, so will I bring upon them all the good that I have
promised them.
Rom 11:25-28 25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be
ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits;
that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the
Gentiles be come in. 26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is
written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn
away ungodliness from Jacob: 27 For this is my covenant unto
them, when I shall take away their sins. 28 As concerning the
gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election,
they are beloved for the fathers' sakes.
Zech 8:8 And I will bring them, and they shall dwell in the midst of
Jerusalem: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God, in
truth and in righteousness.
Isa 59:20-21 20 And the Redeemer shall come to Zion, and unto
them that turn from transgression in Jacob, saith the LORD. 21 As
for me, this is my covenant with them, saith the LORD; My spirit
that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall
not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out
of the mouth of thy seed's seed, saith the LORD, from henceforth and
for ever.
Isa 60:19-21 19 The sun shall be no more thy light by day; neither
for brightness shall the moon give light unto thee: but the LORD
shall be unto thee an everlasting light, and thy God thy glory. 20 Thy
sun shall no more go down; neither shall thy moon withdraw itself:
53. for the LORD shall be thine everlasting light, and the days of thy
mourning shall be ended. 21 Thy people also shall be all righteous:
they shall inherit the land for ever, the branch of my planting, the
work of my hands, that I may be glorified.
Hos 2:14-15 14 Therefore, behold, I will allure her, and bring her
into the wilderness, and speak comfortably unto her. 15 And I will
give her her vineyards from thence, and the valley of Achor for a
door of hope: and she shall sing there, as in the days of her youth,
and as in the day when she came up out of the land of Egypt.
Hos 2:18 And in that day will I make a covenant for them with the
beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven, and with the
creeping things of the ground: and I will break the bow and the
sword and the battle out of the earth, and will make them to lie down
safely.
Hos 2:20 I will even betroth thee unto me in faithfulness: and thou
shalt know the LORD.
Hos 2:23 And I will sow her unto me in the earth; and I will have
mercy upon her that had not obtained mercy; and I will say to them
which were not my people, Thou art my people; and they shall say,
Thou art my God.
Deut 30:4-6 4 If any of thine be driven out unto the outmost parts
of heaven, from thence will the LORD thy God gather thee, and from
thence will he fetch thee: 5 And the LORD thy God will bring thee
into the land which thy fathers possessed, and thou shalt possess it;
and he will do thee good, and multiply thee above thy fathers. 6 And
the LORD thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy
54. seed, to love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy
soul, that thou mayest live.
Joel 3:20-21 20 But Judah shall dwell for ever, and Jerusalem
from generation to generation. 21 For I will cleanse their blood that I
have not cleansed: for the LORD dwelleth in Zion.
Heb 10:16-18 16 This is the covenant that I will make with
them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into
their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; 17 And their
sins and iniquities will I remember no more. 18 Now where
remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.
Ps 102:28 The children of thy servants shall continue, and their seed
shall be established before thee.
Ps 102:12-16 12 But thou, O LORD, shalt endure for ever; and
thy remembrance unto all generations. 13 Thou shalt arise, and have
mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is
come. 14 For thy servants take pleasure in her stones, and favour the
dust thereof. 15 So the heathen shall fear the name of the LORD,
and all the kings of the earth thy glory. 16 When the LORD shall
build up Zion, he shall appear in his glory.
Ps 102:5-6 5 By reason of the voice of my groaning my bones
cleave to my skin. 6 I am like a pelican of the wilderness: I am like
an owl of the desert.
55. Isa 65:9 And I will bring forth a seed out of Jacob, and out of Judah
an inheritor of my mountains: and mine elect shall inherit it, and my
servants shall dwell there.
Isa 65:21-23 21 And they shall build houses, and inhabit them;
and they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them. 22 They
shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant, and another
eat: for as the days of a tree are the days of my people, and mine
elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands. 23 They shall not
labour in vain, nor bring forth for trouble; for they are the seed of the
blessed of the LORD, and their offspring with them.
Heb 1:14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister
for them who shall be heirs of salvation?

Joel 3:1-8
1For, behold, in those days, and in that time, when I shall bring again the
captivity of Judah and Jerusalem,
2I will also gather all nations,
Zech 14:14 And Judah also shall fight at Jerusalem; and the wealth
of all the heathen round about shall be gathered together, gold, and
silver, and apparel, in great abundance.
Zeph 3:8 Therefore wait ye upon me, saith the LORD, until the day
that I rise up to the prey: for my determination is to gather the
nations, that I may assemble the kingdoms, to pour upon them mine
56. indignation, even all my fierce anger: for all the earth shall be
devoured with the fire of my jealousy.
and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead
with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have
scattered among the nations,
2Chr 20:26 And on the fourth day they assembled themselves in the
valley of Berachah; for there they blessed the LORD: therefore the
name of the same place was called, The valley of Berachah, unto this
day.
Joel 3:12 Let the heathen be wakened, and come up to the valley of
Jehoshaphat: for there will I sit to judge all the heathen round about.
Isa 66:16 For by fire and by his sword will the LORD plead with all
flesh: and the slain of the LORD shall be many.
Ezek 38:22 And I will plead against him with pestilence and with
blood; and I will rain upon him, and upon his bands, and upon the
many people that are with him, an overflowing rain, and great
hailstones, fire, and brimstone.
Zech 12:3 And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome
stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in
pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against
it.
Zech 12:4 In that day, saith the LORD, I will smite every horse with
astonishment, and his rider with madness: and I will open mine eyes
upon the house of Judah, and will smite every horse of the people
with blindness.
57. Rev 11:18 And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and
the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou
shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the
saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest
destroy them which destroy the earth.
Rev 16:6 For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and
thou hast given them blood to drink; for they are worthy.
and parted my land.
Jer 12:14 Thus saith the LORD against all mine evil neighbours,
that touch the inheritance which I have caused my people Israel to
inherit; Behold, I will pluck them out of their land, and pluck out the
house of Judah from among them.
Ezek 25:8 Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because that Moab and Seir
do say, Behold, the house of Judah is like unto all the heathen;
Ezek 35:10 Because thou hast said, These two nations and these two
countries shall be mine, and we will possess it; whereas the LORD
was there:
Dan 11:39 Thus shall he do in the most strong holds with a strange
god, whom he shall acknowledge and increase with glory: and he
shall cause them to rule over many, and shall divide the land for gain.
Zeph 2:8-10 8 I have heard the reproach of Moab, and the
revilings of the children of Ammon, whereby they have reproached
my people, and magnified themselves against their border. 9
58. Therefore as I live, saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel,
Surely Moab shall be as Sodom, and the children of Ammon as
Gomorrah, even the breeding of nettles, and saltpits, and a perpetual
desolation: the residue of my people shall spoil them, and the
remnant of my people shall possess them. 10 This shall they have for
their pride, because they have reproached and magnified themselves
against the people of the LORD of hosts.
3And they have cast lots for my people; and have given a boy for an
harlot, and sold a girl for wine, that they might drink.
The standard of this judgment is how the Gentiles have treated the
Jew (see Matt. 25:32–42).
Matt 25:32-42 32 And before him shall be gathered all nations:
and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth
his sheep from the goats: 33 And he shall set the sheep on his right
hand, but the goats on the left. 34 Then shall the King say unto them
on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the
kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 35 For I
was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me
drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: 36 Naked, and ye clothed
me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto
me. 37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw
we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? 38
When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and
clothed thee? 39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came
unto thee? 40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I
say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of
these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. 41 Then shall he say
also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into
59. everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: 42 For I was
an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me
no drink:
4Yea, and what have ye to do with me, O Tyre, and Zidon, and all the
coasts of Palestine? will ye render me a recompence? and if ye
recompense me, swiftly and speedily will I return your recompence upon
your own head;
“Will ye render me a recompence...speedily will I return
your recompence upon your own head”
Alexander the Great sold 13,000 people of Tyre into slavery,
and Artaxerxes sold 40,000 of the inhabitants of Sidon into
slavery.
“And I will sell your sons and daughters” (vs. 8).
You don’t mess with the Jew (and comments) and get away
with it.
Gen 4:12 When thou tillest the ground, it shall not henceforth
yield unto thee her strength; a fugitive and a vagabond shalt
thou be in the earth.
Mal 3:6 For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of
Jacob are not consumed.
There can only be racial superiority when there is Righteous
superiority.
60. 5Because ye have taken my silver and my gold, and have carried into
your temples my goodly pleasant things:
God never fails to take credit for any material prosperity anyone has
(Rom. 11:36 and Acts 14:17).
Rom 11:36 For of him, and through him, and to him, are all
things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen.
Acts 14:17 Nevertheless he left not himself without witness, in
that he did good, and gave us rain from heaven, and fruitful
seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness.
The Lord God Almighty takes credit for any riches a nation acquires
(Dan. 5:23; Ezek. 16:15–20; Hosea 2:8).
Dan 5:23 But hast lifted up thyself against the Lord of heaven;
and they have brought the vessels of his house before thee, and
thou, and thy lords, thy wives, and thy concubines, have drunk
wine in them; and thou hast praised the gods of silver, and gold,
of brass, iron, wood, and stone, which see not, nor hear, nor
know: and the God in whose hand thy breath is, and whose are
all thy ways, hast thou not glorified:
Ezek 16:15-20 15 But thou didst trust in thine own beauty,
and playedst the harlot because of thy renown, and pouredst out
thy fornications on every one that passed by; his it was. 16 And
of thy garments thou didst take, and deckedst thy high places
with divers colours, and playedst the harlot thereupon: the like
things shall not come, neither shall it be so. 17 Thou hast also
taken thy fair jewels of my gold and of my silver, which I had
61. given thee, and madest to thyself images of men, and didst
commit whoredom with them, 18 And tookest thy broidered
garments, and coveredst them: and thou hast set mine oil and
mine incense before them. 19 My meat also which I gave thee,
fine flour, and oil, and honey, wherewith I fed thee, thou hast
even set it before them for a sweet savour: and thus it was, saith
the Lord GOD. 20 Moreover thou hast taken thy sons and thy
daughters, whom thou hast borne unto me, and these hast thou
sacrificed unto them to be devoured. Is this of thy whoredoms a
small matter,
Hos 2:8 For she did not know that I gave her corn, and wine,
and oil, and multiplied her silver and gold, which they prepared
for Baal.
6The children also of Judah and the children of Jerusalem have ye sold
unto the Grecians, that ye might remove them far from their border.
7Behold, I will raise them out of the place whither ye have sold them, and
will return your recompence upon your own head:
8And I will sell your sons and your daughters into the hand of the
children of Judah, and they shall sell them to the Sabeans, to a people far
off: for the LORD hath spoken it.
Joel is speaking of three slaveries;
the first was under Nebuchadnezzar following 590–585 B.C., and
the second under Titus (A.D. 70) and
the third under the Son of Perdition (Rev. 11:1–2).
62. Rev 11:1-2 1 And there was given me a reed like unto a rod:
and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of
God, and the altar, and them that worship therein.
2 But the court which is without the temple leave out, and
measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city
shall they tread under foot forty and two months.
The sons and daughters of the Philistines and Phoenicians (vs. 4) will
eventually be bought by Jews (vs. 8), and they will sell them off to
the Arabians in South Arabia (vs. 8—Sabeans).
Joel 3:9-17
These events deal with the Battle of Armageddon and the Judgment of
the Nations which follows.
9Proclaim ye this among the Gentiles; Prepare war, wake up the mighty
men, let all the men of war draw near; let them come up:
10Beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruninghooks into spears:
let the weak say, I am strong.
“Let the weak say, I am strong” (vs. 10).
Notice the divine sarcasm, and compare it with this one:
Nah 2:8 But Nineveh is of old like a pool of water: yet they shall
flee away. Stand, stand, shall they cry; but none shall look back.
63. Mal 3:15 And now we call the proud happy; yea, they that work
wickedness are set up; yea, they that tempt God are even delivered.
11Assemble yourselves, and come, all ye heathen, and gather yourselves
together round about: thither cause thy mighty ones to come down, O
LORD.
Zeph 3:8 Therefore wait ye upon me, saith the LORD, until the day
that I rise up to the prey: for my determination is to gather the
nations, that I may assemble the kingdoms, to pour upon them mine
indignation, even all my fierce anger: for all the earth shall be
devoured with the fire of my jealousy.
Matt 13:30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time
of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares,
and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my
barn.
Doctrinal explination:
30) Let both grow together until the [End of the world]:
and in the time of [End of the world] I will say to the
[Angels], Gather ye together first the [Children of the
wicked one], and bind them in bundles to burn them: but
gather the [Children of the kingdom] into my
[kingdom].

Joel 3:12-17
12Let the heathen be wakened, and come up to the
valley of Jehoshaphat: for there will I sit to judge all
the heathen round about.
13Put ye in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe: come, get
you down; for the press is full, the fats overflow; for
their wickedness is great.
14Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for
the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision.
15The sun and the moon shall be darkened, and the
stars shall withdraw their shining.
16The LORD also shall roar out of Zion, and utter his
voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth
shall shake: but the LORD will be the hope of his
people, and the strength of the children of Israel.
17So shall ye know that I am the LORD your God
dwelling in Zion, my holy mountain: then shall
Jerusalem be holy, and there shall no strangers pass
through her any more.
65. Joel 3:12
12Let the heathen be wakened, and come up to the
valley of Jehoshaphat: for there will I sit to judge all
the heathen round about.
The valley of Kedron at Jerusalem, for the Lord is
on the Davidic Throne at Jerusalem (Matt. 25:31–
45) when this judgment takes place (Matt. 19:28).
Matt 25:31-45 31 When the Son of man
shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels
with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his
glory: 32 And before him shall be gathered all
nations: and he shall separate them one from
another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from
the goats:
Matt 19:28 And Jesus said unto them, Verily I
say unto you, That ye which have followed me,
in the regeneration when the Son of man shall
sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit
upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes
of Israel.
66. Four localities for judgment and destruction, then,
must be demarked if we are going to understand the
Second Advent.
1.One initial attack comes down the Palestinian
coast from Damascus, via Tyre and Zidon.
2.One attack proceeds from Mt. Sinai up the
King’s Highway across Jordan at Gilgal.
3.One attack comes from the Mt. of Olives and
goes westward over the valley of Jehoshaphat to
Jerusalem, and
4.One attack comes down the valley of Megiddo
to Jordan, via Jezreel.
Joel 3:13
13Put ye in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe: come,
get you down; for the press is full, the fats overflow;
for their wickedness is great.
Rev. 14:14–16 compare with Isaiah 63:1–8.
Rev 14:14-16 14 And I
looked, and behold a white
cloud, and upon the cloud
one sat like unto the Son
Isa 63:1-8 1 Who is this
that cometh from Edom,
with dyed garments from
Bozrah? this that is
67. of man, having on his head
a golden crown, and in his
hand a sharp sickle. 15
And another angel came
out of the temple, crying
with a loud voice to him
that sat on the cloud,
Thrust in thy sickle, and
reap: for the time is come
for thee to reap; for the
harvest of the earth is
ripe. 16 And he that sat
on the cloud thrust in his
sickle on the earth; and
the earth was reaped.
glorious in his apparel,
travelling in the greatness
of his strength? I that
speak in righteousness,
mighty to save. 2
Wherefore art thou red in
thine apparel, and thy
garments like him that
treadeth in the winefat? 3
I have trodden the
winepress alone; and of
the people there was none
with me: for I will tread
them in mine anger, and
trample them in my fury;
and their blood shall be
sprinkled upon my
garments, and I will stain
all my raiment. 4 For the
day of vengeance is in
mine heart, and the year of
my redeemed is come. 5
And I looked, and there
was none to help; and I
68. wondered that there was
none to uphold: therefore
mine own arm brought
salvation unto me; and my
fury, it upheld me. 6 And
I will tread down the
people in mine anger,
and make them drunk in
my fury, and I will bring
down their strength to
the earth. 7 I will
mention the
lovingkindnesses of the
LORD, and the praises of
the LORD, according to
all that the LORD hath
bestowed on us, and the
great goodness toward
the house of Israel, which
he hath bestowed on them
according to his mercies,
and according to the
multitude of his
lovingkindnesses. 8 For
he said, Surely they are
69. my people, children that
will not lie: so he was
their Saviour.
Note the identical order in Revelation 14:15, 19 and
also Isaiah 2:4.
Rev 14:15 And another
angel came out of the
temple, crying with a loud
voice to him that sat on the
cloud, Thrust in thy sickle,
and reap: for the time is
come for thee to reap; for
the harvest of the earth
is ripe.
Rev 14:19 And the angel
thrust in his sickle into the
earth, and gathered the
vine of the earth, and
cast it into the great
winepress of the wrath of
God.
Isa 2:4 And he shall
judge among the nations,
and shall rebuke many
people: and they shall beat
their swords into
70. plowshares, and their
spears into pruninghooks:
nation shall not lift up
sword against nation,
neither shall they learn
war any more.
“The fats overflow” (vs. 13) [Joel 2:24].
Joel 2:24 And the floors shall be full of wheat,
and the fats shall overflow with wine and oil.
The modern English word for “fats” is “vats”
(notice the German “v” pronounced “f’).
The blood of the grape (Deut. 32:32–35) is
squeezed out of the winepress to the horses bridles
(Rev. 14:17–20)
Deut 32:32-35 32 For their vine is of the
vine of Sodom, and of the fields of Gomorrah:
their grapes are grapes of gall, their clusters are
71. bitter: 33 Their wine is the poison of dragons,
and the cruel venom of asps. 34 Is not this laid
up in store with me, and sealed up among my
treasures? 35 To me belongeth vengeance, and
recompence; their foot shall slide in due time:
for the day of their calamity is at hand, and the
things that shall come upon them make haste.
Rev 14:17-20 17 And another angel came out
of the temple which is in heaven, he also having
a sharp sickle. 18 And another angel came out
from the altar, which had power over fire; and
cried with a loud cry to him that had the sharp
sickle, saying, Thrust in thy sharp sickle, and
gather the clusters of the vine of the earth; for
her grapes are fully ripe. 19 And the angel
thrust in his sickle into the earth, and gathered
the vine of the earth, and cast it into the great
winepress of the wrath of God. 20 And the
winepress was trodden without the city, and
blood came out of the winepress, even unto the
horse bridles, by the space of a thousand and six
hundred furlongs.
72. as the Lord Jesus Christ stomps (Isa. 63:1–8)
Isa 63:1-8 1 Who is this that cometh from
Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? this
that is glorious in his apparel, travelling in the
greatness of his strength? I that speak in
righteousness, mighty to save. 2 Wherefore art
thou red in thine apparel, and thy garments like
him that treadeth in the winefat? 3 I have
trodden the winepress alone; and of the people
there was none with me: for I will tread them in
mine anger, and trample them in my fury; and
their blood shall be sprinkled upon my
garments, and I will stain all my raiment. 4 For
the day of vengeance is in mine heart, and the
year of my redeemed is come. 5 And I looked,
and there was none to help; and I wondered that
there was none to uphold: therefore mine own
arm brought salvation unto me; and my fury, it
upheld me. 6 And I will tread down the people
in mine anger, and make them drunk in my
fury, and I will bring down their strength to the
earth. 7 I will mention the lovingkindnesses of
the LORD, and the praises of the LORD,
73. according to all that the LORD hath bestowed
on us, and the great goodness toward the house
of Israel, which he hath bestowed on them
according to his mercies, and according to the
multitude of his lovingkindnesses. 8 For he
said, Surely they are my people, children that
will not lie: so he was their Saviour.
200,000,000 troops to death (Psa. 68:23).
Ps 68:23 That thy foot may be dipped in the
blood of thine enemies, and the tongue of thy
dogs in the same.
Joel 3:14
14Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for
the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision.
Joel 3:14-15
14Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for
the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision.
15The sun and the moon shall be darkened, and the
stars shall withdraw their shining.
74. The “valley of decision” is the valley of Megiddo
for battle and
the “valley of Jehoshaphat” for judgment.
There are TWO “multitudes” (vs. 14).
Joel 3:16
16The LORD also shall roar out of Zion, and utter his
voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth
shall shake: but the LORD will be the hope of his
people, and the strength of the children of Israel.
Now this is the same Lord (Joel 2:11) who utters
the same voice (2:11) before the same army (2:11),
and it is His army (2:11),
Joel 2:11 And the LORD shall utter his voice
before his army: for his camp is very great: for
he is strong that executeth his word: for the day
of the LORD is great and very terrible; and who
can abide it?
for it is composed of HIS MIGHTY ONES (Joel
3:11)
75. Joel 3:11 Assemble yourselves, and come, all
ye heathen, and gather yourselves together
round about: thither cause thy mighty ones to
come down, O LORD.
who come down on the armies in the “valley of
decision” (3:14).
The context of both passages is the same; neither
has anything to do with an Antichrist’s “northern
army” called “the Lord’s army,” and neither has
anything to do with some insects called “my great
army” in Joel 2:25.
Joel 2:25 And I will restore to you the years
that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and
the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great
army which I sent among you.
The insect army was “SENT”’ (Joel 2:25);
it was not led down from heaven (Rev. 19:11–16)
by a white horse rider (Rev. 19:11) who fights in
the valley of Megiddo!
76. Rev 19:11-16 11 And I saw heaven opened,
and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon
him was called Faithful and True, and in
righteousness he doth judge and make war. 12
His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head
were many crowns; and he had a name written,
that no man knew, but he himself. 13 And he
was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and
his name is called The Word of God. 14 And
the armies which were in heaven followed him
upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white
and clean. 15 And out of his mouth goeth a
sharp sword, that with it he should smite the
nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of
iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the
fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. 16 And
he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name
written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF
LORDS.
Rev 19:11 And I saw heaven opened, and
behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him
was called Faithful and True, and in
righteousness he doth judge and make war.
77. “The lion of the tribe of Judah” (Rev. 5:5) is doing
the roaring in verse 16 (Jer. 25:30; Amos 1:2;
Hosea 11:10; Job 37:4).
Rev 5:5 And one of the elders saith unto me,
Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda,
the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the
book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.
Jer 25:30 Therefore prophesy thou against
them all these words, and say unto them, The
LORD shall roar from on high, and utter his
voice from his holy habitation; he shall mightily
roar upon his habitation; he shall give a shout,
as they that tread the grapes, against all the
inhabitants of the earth.
Amos 1:2 And he said, The LORD will roar
from Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem;
and the habitations of the shepherds shall
mourn, and the top of Carmel shall wither.
Hos 11:10 They shall walk after the LORD: he
shall roar like a lion: when he shall roar, then
the children shall tremble from the west.
78. Job 37:4 After it a voice roareth: he thundereth
with the voice of his excellency; and he will not
stay them when his voice is heard.
He roars “out of ZION” (Joel 2:32) and “FROM
JERUSALEM” (Joel 2:32),
Joel 2:32 And it shall come to pass, that
whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD
shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in
Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD
hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD
shall call.
The army of Joel 2:1–12 is the Body of Christ, plus
the Old Testament Saints—
as foretold by Enoch (Jude 14) IN NO BOOK
THAT HE EVER WROTE.
Joel 3:17
17So shall ye know that I am the LORD your God
dwelling in Zion, my holy mountain: then shall
79. Jerusalem be holy, and there shall no strangers pass
through her any more.
This area is called “Sodom and Egypt” in the
Tribulation (Rev. 11:8)
because the Son of Perdition is reigning there from
the Mercy Seat in the Temple (2 Thess. 2:2–12).
It is still the “holy city” (Rev. 11:2)
Rev 11:2 But the court which is without the
temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is
given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall
they tread under foot forty and two months.
because it is the “city of the great KING (Matt.
5:35),
Matt 5:35 Nor by the earth; for it is his

of the great King.
80. but the “GREAT KING” is not the incarnate “angel
of the bottomless pit,” joining Satan in a human
body (Rev. 9:11);
Rev 9:11 And they had a king over them,
which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose
name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in
the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon.
the “GREAT KING” is the “KING OF KINGS,

Zech 14:21 Yea, every pot in Jerusalem and in
Judah shall be holiness unto the LORD of hosts:

Isa 35:8 And an highway shall be there, and a
way, and it shall be called The way of holiness;
the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be

82. --Part9
Joel 3:18-21
18And it shall come to pass in that day, that the
mountains shall drop down new wine, and the hills
shall flow with milk, and all the rivers of Judah shall
flow with waters, and a fountain shall come forth of the
house of the LORD, and shall water the valley of
Shittim.
19Egypt shall be a desolation, and Edom shall be a
desolate wilderness, for the violence against the
children of Judah, because they have shed innocent
blood in their land.
20But Judah shall dwell for ever, and Jerusalem from
generation to generation.
21For I will cleanse their blood that I have not
cleansed: for the LORD dwelleth in Zion.
Joel 3:17-18
17So shall ye know that I am the LORD your God
dwelling in Zion, my holy mountain: then shall
83. Jerusalem be holy, and there shall no strangers pass
through her any more.
18And it shall come to pass in that day, that the
mountains shall drop down new wine, and the hills
shall flow with milk, and all the rivers of Judah shall
flow with waters, and a fountain shall come forth of the
house of the LORD, and shall water the valley of
Shittim.
The Lord is dwelling in ZION on a “holy
mountain” (vs. 17),
not in the “church” or the “Kingdom of God”.
Zech 14:4 And his feet shall stand in that day upon the
mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east,
and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst
thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there
shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain
shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the
south.
Zech 14:4 And his feet shall stand in that day

84. Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives
shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east
and toward the west, and there shall be a very
great valley; and half of the mountain shall
remove toward the north, and half of it toward
the south.
Zech 14:8 And it shall be in that day, that living
waters shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them
toward the former sea, and half of them toward the
hinder sea: in summer and in winter shall it be. KJV
Rev 22:1-3 1 And he shewed me a pure river of
water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the
throne of God and of the Lamb. 2 In the midst of
the street of it, and on either side of the river, was
there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of
fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the
leaves of the tree were for the healing of the
nations. 3 And there shall be no more curse: but the
throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and
his servants shall serve him: KJV
85. The water and the rivers of “Judah” will be
physical changed in the topography of Mt. Zion
which will take place at the Advent.
The Dead Sea will be purified after the Advent so
that there will be no trouble with fresh water going
from Jerusalem to Shittim, which is on the border
between Moab and Israel (Num. 25:1; Micah 6:5).
Ezek 47:1-12 1 Afterward he brought me
again unto the door of the house; and, behold,
waters issued out from under the threshold of
the house eastward: for the forefront of the
house stood toward the east, and the waters
came down from under from the right side of
the house, at the south side of the altar. 2 Then
brought he me out of the way of the gate
northward, and led me about the way without
unto the utter gate by the way that looketh
eastward; and, behold, there ran out waters on
the right side. 3 And when the man that had the
line in his hand went forth eastward, he
measured a thousand cubits, and he brought me
through the waters; the waters were to the
86. ankles. 4 Again he measured a thousand, and
brought me through the waters; the waters were
to the knees. Again he measured a thousand,
and brought me through; the waters were to the
loins. 5 Afterward he measured a thousand; and
it was a river that I could not pass over: for the
waters were risen, waters to swim in, a river
that could not be passed over. 6 And he said
unto me, Son of man, hast thou seen this? Then
he brought me, and caused me to return to the
brink of the river. 7 Now when I had returned,
behold, at the bank of the river were very many
trees on the one side and on the other. 8 Then
said he unto me, These waters issue out
toward the east country, and go down into
the desert, and go into the sea: which being
brought forth into the sea, the waters shall be
healed. 9 And it shall come to pass, that every
thing that liveth, which moveth, whithersoever
the rivers shall come, shall live: and there shall
be a very great multitude of fish, because these
waters shall come thither: for they shall be
healed; and every thing shall live whither the
river cometh. 10 And it shall come to pass, that
87. the fishers shall stand upon it from Engedi even
unto Eneglaim; they shall be a place to spread
forth nets; their fish shall be according to their
kinds, as the fish of the great sea, exceeding
many. 11 But the miry places thereof and the
marishes thereof shall not be healed; they shall
be given to salt. 12 And by the river upon the
bank thereof, on this side and on that side, shall
grow all trees for meat, whose leaf shall not
fade, neither shall the fruit thereof be
consumed: it shall bring forth new fruit
according to his months, because their waters
they issued out of the sanctuary: and the fruit
thereof shall be for meat, and the leaf thereof
for medicine.

Joel 3:19
19Egypt shall be a desolation, and Edom shall be a
desolate wilderness, for the violence against the
children of Judah, because they have shed innocent
blood in their land.
The judgment on the heathen near Jerusalem
(Edorn and Egypt) takes two forms (see Zech.
14:1–14).
Zech 14:1-14 1 Behold, the day of the LORD
cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the
midst of thee. 2 For I will gather all nations
against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be
taken, and the houses rifled, and the women
ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into
captivity, and the residue of the people shall not
be cut off from the city. 3 Then shall the LORD
go forth, and fight against those nations, as
when he fought in the day of battle. 4 And his
feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of
Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east,
89. and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the
midst thereof toward the east and toward the
west, and there shall be a very great valley;
and half of the mountain shall remove
toward the north, and half of it toward the
south. 5 And ye shall flee to the valley of the
mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall
reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye
fled from before the earthquake in the days of
Uzziah king of Judah: and the LORD my God
shall come, and all the saints with thee. 6 And it
shall come to pass in that day, that the light
shall not be clear, nor dark: 7 But it shall be one
day which shall be known to the LORD, not
day, nor night: but it shall come to pass, that at
evening time it shall be light. 8 And it shall be
in that day, that living waters shall go out from
Jerusalem; half of them toward the former sea,
and half of them toward the hinder sea: in
summer and in winter shall it be. 9 And the
LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that
day shall there be one LORD, and his name
one. 10 All the land shall be turned as a plain
from Geba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem:
