I’d like to introduce you to Villa Lagoon Tile.
Also known as Cuban tiles, mosaicos hidraulicos or encaustic
tiles, Villa Lagoon tiles are individually hand-made cement
tiles... just like the tiles that grace some of the finest floors in
Paris, Barcelona, and Rio de Janeiro. In the US their style and
color highlight many buildings in Miami and Los Angeles.
We've decided that it's time for these tiles to make a comeback.
Their marvelous distinct colors and patterns can be customized
to fit any theme and architectural design. They have been se-
lected to be used in several commercial buildings and residen-
tial settings.
Our tiles are a high-quality floor covering that provide architects,
interior designers, contractors, and home owners a versatile
flooring option that is colorful, elegant, durable and unique.

About VLT Cement Tile
Cuban tiles, mosaicos hidralicos, cement tile, encaustic tile — No matter what you call them, the-
se tiles are seen all over Europe and Latin America.
Recognizable by their vibrant colors and intricate designs, cement
tiles are often used in public buildings, restaurants, and hotels to
provide a durable surface and decoration.
Traditionally, cement tiles are used to create interlocking designs
of four (4) tiles by rotating every tile by 90 degrees. Each quadrant
forms one design unit. When laid side by side, these 4 tile squares
can also form another interlocking pattern.
Patterned tiles are usually used with coordinating border tiles or
solid color tiles to create a rug like design on the floor. The rug-like
design produces a feeling of formality to residential rooms and
spaces. Likewise, these tiles are used widely in custom high-end
homes and in public buildings.
How Villa Lagoon Tiles are Made
Each Villa Lagoon tile is individually hand-made using a process
that is more than 150 years old. Our tiles are not made of clay or
glazed to produce colors.
Villa Lagoon Tiles are made from marble dust, Portland cement,
and natural earth pigments that are mechanically pressed together
in a mold.
Natural earth pigments are carefully mixed and poured into specific
sections of the design frame. The pigments are overlaid with a
specially prepared dry Portland cement mixture then hydraulically
pressed into the cement later.
Unlike traditional ceramic tiles, our tiles are not fired. Instead the
tiles are hardened by soaking in water, then air-cured to produce a
smooth, durable, hard surface that continues to strengthen with
time.

material — low energy, non-fired material and we use natural earth
pigments.

clude your name, address, and phone number. We will email you an estimate reflecting your order with all
costs. Review the invoice and reply with your OK; or make corrections and return to us.
Payment:
Send us your check, money order or bank wire. Credit cards? Yes, if you must, we can accept plastic using
PayPal, but truthfully, we prefer checks…it allows us to keep our prices low by avoiding the CC transaction
charges. Credit card purchases, please add 3%
Shipping:
We arrange shipping as a courtesy to our clients. Clients may arrange their own shipping. Shipping is not in-
cluded in the price of tile and will appear as a separate charge on the invoice. Tiles are shipped via a freight
truck lines on a pallet. Delivery to residential or commercial is to the curb only. It does not included inside
delivery.
Samples:
Sample tiles from our in-stock collection are available for $10.00 each plus shipping (about $12.00). Payment
for most sample tiles are completed using a credit card via PayPal (no 3% surcharge).
Custom tile strike offs from the factory are $25.00 and generally take about two weeks. Cost of shipping
from the factory outside the US vary depending upon the delivery time table
Most products are shipped via UPS Ground. If you have a UPS account or Fed Ex account we’ll be glad to
send your accent tiles using your account. US Mail may be used for sample orders. Other methods of ship-
ment are available at your request.
