HOW MANY OF YOU KNOW ABOUT ATLANTIS CITY?
The Beginning Thoughts
 This city was said to be imaginary ,fictional and not real .
 It was said to be a myth, an illusion, a thought.
 Let’s find about this “Lost City”.
HISTORY
• Atlantis was a city that is
said to have been engulfrd
by the ocean as the result
of earthquake.
• The first accout of Atlantis
appear in TIMAEUS and
CRITIAS,two books by
Plato.
Where exactly was
Atlantis?
Atlantis was said to have been in the
ATLANTIC OCEAN.
o Some claims that Atlantis was found in
the AEGEAN SEA and was part of the
historical destruction of THERA and
MINOAN EMPIRE.
o Finally Atlantis could have been near the
AZORES ISLANDS which ae just west of
the straight of Gibraltar.

PAST
pictures
Location hypotheses
 In or near the Mediterranean Sea
 In the Atlantic Ocean
 In Europe
AND MANY OTHER LOCATIONS
STRUCTURE
Atlantis was explained to be
in the shape of a bullseye.
Alternating rings of land were
separated by water.
WHO’S PLATO
• Plato was a Greek philosopher, gave us first known account of
Atlantis.
• Plato was said to have lived from about 428-328 BC.
• He was a student of Socrates.
• After studying he opened his own philosophy school.
• There he began to write philosophies in a play form.
• In his place Atlantis was a place ,his students thought it was imaginary
but Plato argued the it is original.
ATLANTIS :PLATO’S PHILOSOPHY
• Greek philosopher, Plato talked of Atlantis as if it were in heaven .
• The resources said that “His description were of huge island larger
than Libya and Asia put together. It had great mountain ranges, great
plains and plenty of animals , like elephants and gardens filled with
more splendor that anyone could imagine”.
• Plato put Atlantis in the ocean and then there is a conflict if it was real
because of its location on the lost continent. There is no known
person who anybody knew for sure who kept this story going.
• The myth of Atlantis was preserved by the Egyptians.
SIX THEORIES ABOUT LOST CIVILIZATION OF ATLANTIS
1.Atlantis was a mid-Atlantic
continent that suddenly sunk
into the ocean.
2. Atlantis was swallowed up
by the Bermuda Triangle.
3. Atlantis was Antarctica.
4. The story of Atlantis was a
mythical retelling of the
Black Sea Flood.
5. Atlantis is the story of the
Minoan civilization, which
flourished in
the Greek islands
6. Atlantis didn’t exist at all—
Plato invented it.
CVILIZATION
1.Atlantis is also regarded as civilization
2.It is also recognized as a mythical
civilization due to many conspiracies
3.It is said to have existed 9000years
before Plato
4.Its also regarded as an
advanced civilization
5.It is said to be even more advanced
than present technology
Architecture
1. Atlantian architecture has many
similarities with Roman architectural
style.
2. The buildings were massive structures of
gigantic proportions.
3. There were temple's with large halls with
pillars supporting the roof.
4. Temples used to have dome capped
towers.
5. Dome capped temple's were used as
astronomical observatories for sun worship
WHY ATLANTIS SUNK
THESE ARE SOME OF THE REASONS THEY TELL
• A powerful earthquake sunk the city.
• The Greek god Poseidon sunk Atlantis because he desired to live in it .
• Atlantis sunk at multiple stages , one of them was from the eruption
of Mount Tuba.
NO ONE KNOWS THE REAL REASON
The Poseidon Theory
• Over 11000 years ago in the middle of
Atlantic Ocean there was an island
inhabited by great and wealthy people.
• Then greed started to take over them and
they were obsessed with money.
• Poseidon, the god of water ,got mad at
them for being obsessed with money. So
he made the ocean cover the city of
Atlantis and it was gone with sea.
CONCLUSION
oNO ONE EXACTLY IF ATLANTIS EXIST OR NOT.
oTHERE ARE MANY RESEARCHES GOING ON TO FIND ITS EXISTANCE.
oWE HOPE WE WILL FIND MORE INFORMATION WTH EVIDENCE
ABOUT ATLANTIS AND IT’S HISTORY.
