Who says it’s not who you know? In the case of Sri Buwan, a stint at GE Water &
Process Technologies Canada on an earlier contract served him well when another opportunity came up. Of
course, the fact that he was working toward his CGA designation, had experience with SAP and needed
little training was important, too, since that’s what the client was looking for, says Asher Khan, Senior
Associate, Client Services. Khan had also worked with another
client with whom Buwan was placed—to rave reviews. “He did a
great job,” says Chris Gotsis, Manager, Recruitment Services, who
has been Sri’s Recruiter for the past few years. She adds, “Sri has
always been very reliable, consistent, motivated, and hardworking.
He is definitely eager and wants to excel in everything that he
does. I hope to place him again really soon.”
What was your most recent assignment?
A one-year contract as a Senior Accountant at GE Water & Process
Technologies Canada. I have extensive experience in general
accounting, preparing and consolidating financial statements,
taxation including corporate and commodity, liaising and preparing
audit papers, reconciling balance sheet accounts and intercompany
charges, ad hoc reports and other accounting and finance
departmental duties, preparing corporate tax returns and
engineering R&D analysis, coordinating the annual budgeting
process, daily cash management, and reconciling bank accounts.
What was your career path prior to this role?
In the past, I’ve worked mostly with midsize to large, service-
oriented companies in publishing, pharmaceuticals and hospitality.
This has given me a wide knowledge of accounting functions and
exposure to a variety of software packages. I’m a student member
of CGA Canada and am pursuing my degree with Seneca College
and set to obtain my designation by 2013.
What drew you to Pro Count Staffing? What was it like working with Chris?
Pro Count Staffing is well known within the GTA, has a variety of clients in midsize to large companies, and
a good working relationship with top entrepreneurs.
Chris’ interpersonal skills and knowledge have always led to successful opportunities for me. Chris provides
ample information about featured jobs and roles so I am fully prepared for the interview process and feel
confident I can meet the employers' expectations.

Any suggestions for others—especially those working toward their CGA designation—who are

The firm has a talented team who are skillful in procuring fitting placements for job seekers and have a
very successful placement rate within the GTA and surrounding area. It’s definitely an asset if you are a
qualified CGA or a student member. This increases your exposure in the job market and your bargaining
power.
What are your future career goals?
My immediate goal is to get my CGA designation and, in the long term, I hope it will help me as a
successful entrepreneur.
