Potential Fraud Cases - Customer Billing
If we consider the list of all customers who were billed more than 15 times in 7.5 years tenure(17,264 such
customers)
• 115 customers received same bill throughout their tenure. There was absolutely no change in the bill
• 800 customers (5%) customers have shown a very minimal or negligible change in their overall bill
• Around 18% of the customers have a deviation of $10 or less, in their overall tenure
A special investigation on these 3,064 customers and their meters might expose fraud /tampered /faulty meters.

Analysis on default customers
1. There are 16,255 customers defaulted at least once.1303 customers defaulted 10 or more
times, 360 customers defaulted 20 or more times
2. 16 customers defaulted more than 40 times. Can we put a check to the default
frequency(if not defaulters)? Is late fee independent of frequency of defaults?
3. Defaulted amount till date is more than $ 5 millions, 90% of the defaulted amount is
recovered though
4. Street sweepers & Construction constitute 79% of the overall defaulted customers.
