Tom Hylton is Founder and President of Save Our Land, Save Our Towns, Inc., a Pottstown, Pennsylvania, non-profit corporation dedicated to promoting sustainable community building and land use planning. The organization Save Our Land, Save Our Towns was inspired by Hylton’s influential book of the same name, which he wrote after receiving a Society of Professional Journalists fellowship in 1993 to study state planning issues. Exploring the consequences of urban sprawl and poorly planned development, while expounding possible strategies for preserving land and reviving communities, “Save Our Land, Save Our Towns” is now in its sixth printing.
