Personal And Shared Knowledge
Knowledge in itself is a broad concept, however, it can be classified into two primary disciples:
personal and shared. Personal knowledge is described as knowledge held by a certain individual
based on their skills, abilities, talents and experiences. Whereas, shared knowledge is based on
common knowledge shared amongst a group of people. In comparison to shared knowledge, it is
more difficult to convey aspects of personal knowledge as they are experienced mainly by one
individual and it is hard to understand another person's thoughts and experiences. Religion gives you
a foundation where you can combine personal and shared knowledge. Religion provides interactions
between people which gives a chance to gain and share knowledge, covering both aspects of "the
knower". The knower's outreach consists of various aspects, such as, gender, upbringing
environment, and spiritual outlooks.
A person's gender, to a certain extent, affects their knowledge and view of the world. Gender roles
can significantly affect how one views the world, as they have been imposed on a person since
childhood. These roles are formed through cultural, religious, and societal means. For instance, in a
particular religion the religious scripture suggests that men are obligated to 'feed and fend' for their
families. This places pressure on males in a society to take on the role of the primary benefactor.
Whereas in others, females are responsible for cooking, caring for children, and handling domestic

A New Dimension Of M Government
E–PURJEE IN RURAL AREAS: A NEW DIMENSION OF M–GOVERNMENT
ABSTRACT
M–government services are becoming crucial substitutes. It is a part of modern ICT. But the thing is,
ICT is not fenced only in the town areas. People of rural areas are also using ICT even if having
fewer ideas about the systems. The notable thing is they can use it. The overview of my report isn't
describing all the aspects of ICT. In this report, my objective is to magnify the concepts and effects
of digital procurement (e–purjee) system by sugarcane growers in rural Bangladesh. It is a SMS–
based purchase order system replacing than that of a paper–based. Analysis showed that m–
governance (mobile–governance) system in Agricultural Sector seemed more complex than
Educational Sector. The analysis identified that Agricultural Sector did not fulfilled the nature of
sustainability in m–governance service in communication, but showed elasticity. Identifying these
situations, now the government and policy makers are suggested to have proper plan, increase
clearness, and inspire public participation in every m–governance service project. Based on these
findings, I tried to indicate some practical and theoretical recommendations about the framework for
rural technology based development projects.

Crime Statistics In Rural Communities
Although many people seem to believe that rural communities and populations are without crime,
this is a misconception that effects the way in which policing takes place. Crime statistics in local
communities do not put emphasis on the happenings in rural communities. This leads to shortages in
specialty crime units that could be useful in rural areas, though difficult to supply because of low
usage. The resources, such as funding, that could be allocated to rural areas is then provided to other
departments that benefit locals. This could lead to shortage of officers in rural communities, which
causes strain on officers from higher shift loads. For a local police officer, work slates can be
divided up as other staff can come and complete already ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This type of policing is reactive where police officers patrol communities looking for crimes that
have or are occurring. This style of policing allows for all suspects to be treated the same regardless
of criminogenic factors. This type of policing leads to higher arrests and can be used as a deterrent
due to high numbers of people talking about the police catching their crimes. This type of policing is
effective when focusing on tackling a specific crime that is causing great numbers of harm to
societies as seen with initiatives on gun violence, drinking and driving or drug trafficking. This type
of policing limits corruption, which can be seen in policing approaches where close community
interactions can lead to bias an unfair treatment. However, traditional policing is not without
drawbacks. This type of policing leaves no room for discretion leading to us viruses them mentality
from not only the general population but the officers as well. The police officers will no longer see
themselves as apart of the community but above the community they are apart of. Reactive policing
does not address issues of the community problems; it only creates a temporary superficial solution
to greater problems. Community policing works with the public to police as well as prevent crimes,
which is not seen in traditional policing. Although community policing seems idea, there should be a
policing approach that handles most crimes without bias as well as works with the

The Case Of Legal Drinking Age
The final situation I have had concerning unclear boundaries involved me and a professor. This
individual was someone I had grown to know and respect and took several courses under. The
incident occurred after I had graduated from Western Carolina University with my bachelor's
degrees while I was living in Cullowhee over the summer. I was invited to the professor's house
along with another former student to eat dinner with him and his wife. While we were eating the
meal, the professor gave me and the other student a glass of wine to go with dinner. Even though I
was of legal drinking age and was no longer a student of the professor's, it felt strange to have a
professor provide me alcohol.
Also, I felt uncomfortable being in the professor's home since it was the first time I had socialized
with a professor outside of a school environment. I later discussed the event with the other student to
inquire if the situation also made her uncomfortable. The individual disclosed that she did not feel
uncomfortable since this was not her first time having dinner with the professor and his wife. I did
not talk about how this incident made me feel with my professor. The reason the boundaries were
unclear in this situation was that there was a multiple relationship. I was now the professor's former
student as well as an individual who had a social relationship with the professor.
Unlike the two previous examples, I was not the individual with a position of power. Since the

Rural Urban Migration Is An Inevitable Component Of The...
The phenomenon of rapid urbanization in less developed countries and in the absence of extensive
industrialization, led to the emergence of illegal settlements and shanty towns, discuss the
relationship between urbanization, poverty and development; and use a case study to illustrate the
effects of rapid urbanization in LDC's.
Rural–urban migration occurs at varying rates in every country. This paper focuses on the process of
rural–urban migration and its influence on urbanization in developing countries. It presents
arguments in support of the proposal that rural–urban migration is an inevitable component of the
development process, and does not necessarily have to result in opposing impacts with the right mix
of policies, this process can occur at a socially acceptable level. However, the misrepresentation of
opportunities in favor of cities in most developing countries, the costs associated with rural–urban
migration often outweigh the benefits, which lead to excessive urbanization with special emphasis
on the causes and consequences of rural–urban migration, and their relationship with urbanization
and economic growth. Keeping into consideration the fact that rural–urban migration is an integral
part of the development process. Also the paper will give a brief historical background about the
rapid urbanization change in developing countries over time and will be applying a case study of a
country to illustrate this change.

A Brief Note On The Context ( Iad )
Biophysical Context (IAD)
a) Natural Infrastructure
There is specifically no natural element involved in an EV industry. Except for the fact that we are
trying to conserve natural fossil fuels and reduce the problems of exhaust emissions from internal
combustion engines by encouraging EVs as mode of transportation. EVs are man made solution to
the depletion of natural resources and climate change.
b) Human–made infrastructure
To power an electric vehicle, consumers must have the ability to connect their vehicle to a source of
electricity, the utility must have the capacity to transmit and distribute this additional power and
sufficient electricity generation capacity must exist. The onus is on the government as well as the
private sector to meet these three conditions i.e. providing 1. Charging equipment 2. Distribution
capacity and 3. Electricity generation. The charging equipment is not very expensive and it would
not be difficult for households and commercial enterprises to install them. The adequacy of the
generation and distribution systems need to be upgraded and monitored and necessary investments
need to be made to keep up with the increasing demand from EVs. Finally, if there emerges the need
for a rapid electrification campaign, the utilities will be under pressure to build new facilities and the
older coal–fired power plants will remain in use, ironically diluting the environmental benefits of
EV adoption strategy. Therefore, adequate expansion of infrastructure

The Pros And Cons Of Parent-Child Therapy
Another form of therapy for child abuse is called the Abuse–focused cognitive behavioral therapy (
AF–CBT). It involves the children, those who have been physical abused or had severe physical
punishment, as well as the offending parent. It teaches the parents and children emotional control to
reduce violent conflict. Understanding of family violence, thought/ feelings of abuse, and how–to
manager anger/stress are also part of AF–CBT. Parents also focus on self–regulation, and how to
manage feelings and reactions, as well as focusing on the responsibility of the abuse. AF–CBT helps
the child and parent solve problems, and communicate effectively. The study suggests that a this
therapy causes a decrease in parent–to–child violence, parental distress, and abuse risk. After a year,
there is family functioning. As well as children experience less physical discipline and fewer
problems (Paul, Gray, Elhai, Massad, & Stamm, 2006).
In addition, Parent–child interaction therapy (PCIT), has shown to be effective in child abuse
victims and their parents. Improvements of parenting skills, less child behavioral problems, and
better parent–child relationship are all outcomes of PCIT. In this therapy the parent and child have
directed interaction. The parent is taught communication skills. After that the parent can play with
the child while the therapist coaches the parent. Clear commands are taught to use at home and in
public. In this activity the child must lead the activity and the parent mustn't criticize the child to
create a positive relationship. The study suggested that PCIT decreased reports of abuse and
decreased behavior at school (Paul, Gray, Elhai, Massad, & Stamm, 2006).
Some strains could be alleviated if there was more access to family social services. Less qualified
case workers, longer driving distances and inexecrable transportation became serious issues with
trying to provide social services for everyone (Walsh & Mattingly, 2012). Health in families
becomes an obstacle because of isolation and the lack of services to the area. Child abuse rates
would go down if there were interventions designed to help struggling families sooner. Many
assistant programs should be unique to every family to help them

Use Of Distance Education Within A Rural Setting Essay
The Use of Distance Education in Continuing Interprofessional Education within a Rural Setting
Interprofessional education (IPE) is an imperative form of educating a variety of healthcare
professionals (HCPs). With factors such as an ageing population and an increase in the number of
patients with chronic health conditions, patient care has become more complex, requiring HCPs to
work together collaboratively. While many institutions initiate education for new HCPs with IPE as
a part of existing curriculum, current staff working in clinical areas require continuing education to
educate on how to work efficiently in the interprofessional team after they obtain their licensing.
Continuing interprofessional education (CIPE) is an important part of ongoing HCP education to
ensure HCPS maintain a continued focus and practice on working in an interprofessional
environment. While larger tertiary centres employ educators with an ability to conduct CIPE, rural
and isolated urban areas experience greater difficulty in managing CIPE, thus a distance education
focus is required. An understanding of the efficiency of distance education in the CIPE setting, in
addition to the most effective methods of providing CIPE is required for educators with an
interdisciplinary focus in the rural setting. In this paper, we will examine CIPE, issues regarding
CIPE in remote areas, and the use of distance education for CIPE.

The Legacy Of The South Carolina
Over the last three decades several United States auto jobs have migrated to the South. Some of the
things that have attracted these auto giants to these Southern States is the cost of living and
operating advantages which far surpass those of their Northern counterparts, which also attract more
white–collar workers. The Volvo plant is no different, their goal for building in South Carolina is an
attempt to re–focus it US market share, which had long diminished. Although having these auto
giants, such as Volvo come in to these small rural towns to encourage growth and development,
what effect does it really have in the community?

I discussed with Christine, the impact of trauma on substance use and using a Feminist lens explored
how alcohol abuse relates to women. I supported Christine in understanding the reason women use,
issues related to shame and stigma for women that are parenting and substance involved and how
alcohol use affected parenting. Anti–oppressive social work influenced my decision to arrange a
case conference to ensure Christine was involved in her treatment and was able to voice her needs.

11). Christine was disadvantaged because of her geographic location and disadvantaged by her sex,
her education and her socio–economic level. Payne (2014) calls this an "emancipatory approach" to
social work.
According to Payne (2014), an empowerment view of social work would "empathize the importance
of helping people lead a more fulfilling life by developing their skills and personal relationships" (p.
10). In working with Christine, I tried to support her with coping skills to deal with her depression
and anxiety which in turn might assist her in not self–medicating with alcohol. Using a Cognitive
Behavioural Therapy approach, I was able to help her be aware of how she used alcohol to deal with
her pain and circumstances and how the alcohol use increased her pain and negative circumstances.
By using these coping skills, she was able to reduce her dependency on alcohol; thereby improving
her relationships with her family and friends.
Ethical Considerations There are a number of ethical concerns that arose in the case. To begin with,
while I did not live in Christine's home town, I did live in the 'County' which means that there were
a number of individuals that we both knew. While I was not personally involved with any of these
crossover relationships, it was something that I felt I needed to be cognizant of. I felt that it was

`` Peasants, Rebels, Women, And Outcastes : The Underside...
Urban life was exhilarating for Japan as cities began to develop in the 1890s. The major alterations
were technological advancements that lead to additional job opportunities and made lives easier;
however, the greater part of Japan, during the Meiji period, were not satisfied. These people were
not benefiting from the changes that were occurring around them. In Mikiso Hane's book, Peasants,
Rebels, Women, And Outcastes: The Underside of Modern Japan, the first chapter depicts the
morbid ways in which Japanese peasants reacted to starvation and military conscription. The next
section illustrates the difficult duties of a farmer, and the third division describes the peasants'
morals. In the fourth section, Hane displays the demanding tasks ... Show more content on

Granted that, the farmers were also expected to sacrifice their lives and resources for the "sake of
the nation." Even though the peasants were the ones engaged in heavy labor for Japan, the profusion
of wealth did not trickle down to them. No doubt, the elites at the top of the social pyramid were the
superior social class who benefited and enjoyed the prosperity. In addition to hunger, the Meiji era
had an abundant amount of measures that were introduced, but the compulsory military service
generated the most commotion. A profuse amount of parents was opposed, for they were perturbed
for their sons. A simpleton in "a booklet published in 1879" made a valid argument that it is not fair
to exhort farmers into the military since they would have to "give up even their last grain of rice and
receive nothing in return" (19). Asking these people, who were already on the verge of death, to die
for Japan is requesting far too much. Why should an individual fight for a nation that does nothing
in return for them? What is even worse is that losing a male in the household to the military
conscription meant that the family was losing one pair of hands to manage the farm. If a family in
poverty was already having troubles paying bills and maintaining the field, losing a worker would
not improve the situation at all. In conclusion, malnutrition drives a poor person to do appalling
things while military service leads to horrendous living

I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings By Maya Angelou And The...
The history of the world encompasses many wars that tragically left an impact to those who live in
it. Blood–soaked battles, sleepless nights, and constant notion of terror are only few samples of what
soldiers lived through. One may argue though that the lives of the families and friends of the
soldiers were just as appalling. Constant fear invaded each individual's mind since people had no
idea how the troopers were doing. Perhaps the outcome of the war scarred many and impacted the
lives of virtuous communities. Indeed, these feelings are relived in "I Know Why the Caged Bird
Sings" by Maya Angelou and The Stone Carvers by Jane Urquhart. Although both texts explore the
importance of a pastoral setting and the creation of an artistic ... Show more content on

For instance, Angelou mentions, "And his tune is heard/ On the distant hill/ For the caged bird/
Sings of freedom." (19–22). The bird simply tries to scream for help but his voice is only heard in
the distant. To simplify, this particular circumstance establishes that a rural setting is isolated and
lonesome. This causes the bird to be in terror due to its vacant surroundings as he understands
nobody can aid him from his imprisonment. The bird's emotions are very different from its free
counterpart, thus creating a dominant paradox in the poem; same environment, different situations.
Nonetheless, Angelou describes both sides and illustrates how the setting plays a crucial role in each
contradicting situation. As the case may be, Angelou immediately addresses the question of how
something can deliver both good and bad.
Similarly, Urquhart adequately goes through great extents illustrating the setting to near perfection.
She highlights the ambience of a pastoral environment by including aspects of a country side and
indicating the importance of it. However, the purpose of the setting is to indicate the destruction of
nature caused by the war, unlike Angelou's paradoxical poem. For example, Urquhart mentions in
the beginning of the novel, ". . . the setting sun appeared to be the tangled in the twisted forms of a
stump fence, its rays colouring the steam of their breath a soft orange." (35). The author uses strong
diction such as "tangled" and "twisted" to define the sun,

Descriptive Essay On Mother Nature
Mother Nature can be a wicked, wicked woman.
Thanks the weather, farmers and ranchers are really getting hammered this year, and the hits just
seem to keep coming. According to information from the National Centers For Environmental
Information, there have been nearly a dozen weather and climate disaster events (not including
Hurricanes Harvey and Irma, or wildfires) in 2017 where damages have totaled at least a billion
dollars.
Seeing what you have worked so hard for all your life under water, blown away or just simply gone
is a helpless feeling. Farmers and ranchers can rebuild, but it's never the same, and the landscape is
forever altered.
Some of the scariest moments I've had in my life have been because of the weather. I can remember
storms rolling through and seemed like the roof was going to come off the house. There aren't storm
sirens across the rural landscape in the Ozarks, so you have to hope the TV or radio weatherman can
give you enough warning when dangerous weather approached.
Working at weekly and daily newspapers for many years, I was one of the people chasing the
storms, camera and notebook in hand. It was part of the job, but it was never easy. I remember
following a dozer into a rural area in 2003 after a deadly tornado ripped a path from Cedar to
Camden County. It was my first up close look at the aftermath of a tornado. I have driven into areas
that were under evacuation orders, thinking the whole time I was completely crazy, but I had a job to

Remote or rural regions lacking electricity supply face a lot of challenges for them to get connected
to Electricity. They may lie at a reasonable distance from national or regional electricity grids
(remote villages in the Amazon) and may have difficulties in getting connected to Electricity (far
from urban centers with a difficult terrain such as large rivers or jungles). Naturally they may suffer
harsh climatic conditions that render electrification through grid extension a perilous task . In adding
to these challenges, the rural poor areas without access to electricity either spend relatively large
amounts of their scarce financial resources on energy, or a disproportionate amount of time
collecting firewood from the jungle or also lead to depletion of natural resources.
Rural electrification can have a positive impact on social and economic development in the
households, farms and establishments . If rural areas are electrified they may lead to certain changes
or social/economic development at the village level as well as at the household level. At both levels,
these changes might involve employment, incomes, productivity and others. In the agricultural
sector, rural electrification might lead to changes in irrigated area enhancing changes in cropping
intensity and cropping pattern, which in turn leads to changes in the use of factors of

Three to One Doctor Sharing
Coronation, Castor and Consort are small towns in rural Alberta. All three lie along highway 12,
approximately half an hour from each other. These small towns, although quite distant from each
other share one very important thing–a doctor on call. This is becoming a more common trend in
rural areas with a decline in health care physicians willing to work in such a secluded area far from
amenities. This means that some days a physician is available in one town for as little as an hour or
simply not present in the hospital at all. Health care is poor to limited for these rural areas, since
there are far more people seeking medical attention than can be properly assisted in a reasonable
amount of time. The availability of medical staff is crucial to the quality of health care provided in a
hospital (NRHA). There is generally a lack of medical staff including physicians and nurses in rural
hospitals. Even the shortage of a single physician is extremely likely to have widespread impacts in
a rural community (NAC 2008).
In order for these rural communities to maintain a positive, functioning health care system, more
physicians and nurses need to be recruited to work in the rural setting. This means encouraging more
health care physicians and staff to choose rural settings to work (NRHA 2003). With all of the
definite downfalls of a rural community, there are many reasons rural communities are struggling to
maintain adequate staff at hospitals. Students in the medical

Wilbur Unisex Research Paper
In a small, sleepy town in upstate New York, a devastating crime has been committed. Dr. Andreas
Poppy was known to be a bit of a lazy doctor when making house calls. He would leave a "pill and a
bill" and leave the rest up to fate. This earned him a few enemies along the way, but no one thought
that he would ever be kidnapped and used for his access to prescription drugs. When Wilbur Unisex
came upon the scene he was able to deduce that four men had been waiting to kidnap Dr. Poppy,
take him, his drugs, and his prescription pad, and make a break for the Canadian border. The
evidence in the room that Wilbur Unisex came upon points to four men as the culprits. First, the
shelves along the wall held items that would indicate four people had been using the cabin. There
were four sets of dishes and cups stacked on the shelves and there were large containers of food,
which would indicate that more than one person was using the cabin. Another piece of evidence that
suggest that four people were present was the arrangement of the room itself. There is evidence that
there were three men playing cards at the table. There were three hands set up around the table. ...

Lamb To The Slaughter Comparative Essay
Thesis: In both "Lamb to the Slaughter" and "A Jury of Her Peers", evidence was destroyed to keep
the murder confined, but the two wives had different motives for murdering their husbands, and the
stories took place in different time periods. One similarity between the two stories, "Lamb to the
Slaughter" and "A Jury of Her Peers", was that in both stories, someone ends up destroying
evidence. In "Lamb to the Slaughter", the wife killed her husband with a leg of lamb. After killing
him, she put the leg of lamb in the oven to cook! She ended up serving it to the hungry detectives
who were trying to figure out who killed her husband. It's ironic because toward the end of the story,
the men said, "...probably right under our very noses." They were talking about the weapon used to

"Lamb to the Slaughter" took place during the 1950s in a fairly large city in Canada. Readers can
use context clues to conclude this happened in the 1950s because the wife was a stay–at–home wife,
while the husband was the one that worked and made money to pay the bills. The wife's job was to
take care of the house, make dinner, make her husband happy, and eventually take care of their
child. "A Jury of Her Peers", on the other hand, took place in a rural area in 1917. The setting was a
rural area because they talked about living in an old house that had a barn. Also, readers can infer a
rural setting because the house was isolated and separate from every other house nearby. We can
also assume this was in the late 1910s because separation and divorce between a husband and wife
was unheard of at that time. This is another reason Minnie took matters into her own

Factors Affecting The United States
FINAL PAPER #1
1. What factors combined to attract great numbers of people to American cities? What were the
characteristics of these migrants? How did these migrants change once they were in the United
States? How did they change America, cities or otherwise?
To put this in perspective, an observant and inquisitive fifth grade once asked her mother: Why does
it seem as though Blacks, Hispanics, Chinese, and Europeans from Italy and Poland like living in
cities? The racial composition cities in the United States underwent a major changes that might be
considered as decisive shortly after World War I. Ayer has indicated that demographers typically

For example, in the 1920s, Chicago 's urban black population grew by 148 percent; Cleveland 's by
307 percent; Detroit 's by 611 percent. (Cengage MindTap, n.p.).
A number of reasons brought about the movement of African Americans to northern cities from the
south. First and perhaps a clear reason is the African American annoyance of Jim Crow
disfranchising system in the South. Secondly, a large numbers of African Americans were forced to
leave their homes and families in the south in their search for a better life following the depressed
cotton market as well as the natural disasters that reduced many black land–owner to sharecropping
or tenant farmers trapped in vicious cycle of indebtedness. From a positive perspective, the massive
military conscription that occurred during WWI caused labor shortages, particularly in the northern
region of the United States. These labor shortages appeared to be an opportunity that offered African
American for employment in steel, shipbuilding, and automotive industries, meat packing factories,
and also in plants that specialized in ammunition production (Cengage MindTap, n.p.).
Many cities adopted residential segregation ordinances such that disallowed blacks to establish
residence in predominantly white neighborhoods. To that end, housing issues became a contentious
matter between blacks and whites throughout and beyond the Great Immigration era. Although the

Far From The Madding Crowd Analysis
In Thomas Hardy's novel, titled Far From The Madding Crowd, the protagonist, Bathsheba, is
surrounded by three different suitors. Gabriel, Boldwood, and Troy each try to win her hand in
marriage. The different characteristics of these characters create a dynamic story where marriage
and love are both highlighted and critiqued. The majority of this conflict takes place in the fictional
area of Wessex, England. Hardy uses this fictional setting, and the surrounding town of
Weatherbury, to depict how rural England was slowly going extinct with the rise of modern
technology and industry. As a result of this rural setting, many of elements of pastoral literature are
seen in the novel. Due to this, the text is often referred to as a pastoral novel. Pastoral novels portray
rural country life as free from the complexity and corruption of city life. This idealized approach
often uses shepherds and other natural elements in a poetic way to describe both love and freedom.
Hardy uses the connotation associated with pastoral literature sarcastically to demonstrate how even
in rural life social problems do arise. In the case of this work, the pastoral elements are structured in
a way to create parallelism. These parallel episodes compare and contrast different characters
through figurative language. The repetition of these motifs reflect and influence characters as well as
develop themes. The contrast of fire and water is seen many times throughout the text. In Chapters

The Positive Effects Of Growing Up With Autism
Children are largely shaped by the outside world. Their friends, family, and community determine
their attitudes about life in a major way. However, when a child with autism spectrum disorder
(ASD) is born there are predetermined aspects to their health and personality. Large biological
differences makes environments that are beneficial to atypical children potentially harmful to
children who have autism. Autism directly impacts socialization and learning aspects that come easy
to children who do not possess autism. Thus, large amount of social services are used to adjust the
child to their environment. Growing up in a rural environment has many positive effects on an
autistic child's mindset and wellbeing, but these positive effects can often be outweighed by the risks
associated with living in such a sparsely populated area.
Children who have autism require many aspects of life to be accommodated to their biological
condition. One out of 68 people have been diagnosed with a form of ASD, and this number only
continues to grow (Mello, Goldman, Urbano& Hodapp 2016). Growing up with autism is not an
easy feat. Thus, large family ties are needed to support the child. However, in rural environments
this is not always possible. In rural environments families make $50,000 or less each year in 53.6%
cases; while urban families made less than $50,000 in 35.6% cases. A struggle for economic stability
creates stress in all households. Thus, the autistic children see at least one

Challenges Facing The Rural Lifestyle
Challenges Elderly Face Living in Rural Areas Social workers that practice in the rural environment
should understand the importance of their client's community. People who live in rural areas are
viewed as "country", unfortunate, and illiterate people not living the "normal" standards. In other
words, these characteristics of the rural lifestyle are people who are comfortable living in the low
populated environment are restricted to different resources compared to the urban communities.
Furthermore, to understand the rural lifestyle I conducted interviews on three elderly African
American women who lived their entire lives in the rural parts of Alabama: Ms. Orange who is 85

"Living in rural towns can be challenging for us elderly folks. In order for me to receive medical
attention, I would wait the next day to drive miles to see the doctor," Ms. Washington. Clearly the
deficiencies in the health care profession are a major issue for low class citizens, specifically the
elderly, living in rural areas that deserve attention. As a result, health care facilities and physicians in
rural areas go by the population with health benefits so they can assist the patient. Otherwise, if the
patient does not have health benefits would have to wait longer or seek medical support from a
distance. A study was conducted comparing the access and quality of health care in rural and urban
areas to see if both areas were equivalent to each other. The result showed a significant deficiency in
rural areas (Reschovsky & Staiti, 2005). In addition to the results, three sets were identified between
barriers and in to show a connection to the results in providing health care. First the "convenience of
use" barrier states that in the rural areas the populations are lower and the residents have a tendency
to wait to seek care, travel far distances for their appointments and after arrival, wait longer to be
seen by a physician. The second barrier, "provider supply", stresses that services are few in the rural
areas because

Reasons Why Urban And Rural Areas Are Interdependent On...
INTRODUCTION
Currently, most of the world's population is living in urban areas which have implications for land
use and land changes, use of natural resources, and the absorption of rural labour in urban areas. The
rural and urban interdependence means the flow of natural resources, agricultural commodity,
money, information and services between rural and urban areas. Moreover, the rural population is
adopting the urban style and behaviour or is becoming socially urbanized. According to Steinberg
(2014) economic development and natural resource use and as well as livelihoods bind urban and
rural areas together. These indicate that urban and rural areas have a symbiotic relationship, which
makes them to depend on each other. Thus, one area needs the other to function and develop. This
essay will outline and discuss the ways and reasons why urban and rural areas are interdependent on
each other.
RURAL AND URBAN INTERACTION Source: Repp et al. (2012).

The Development Of Rural Development
3.2 Rural Development
According to Oyeleye, D.A.(1987) he defines rural development as process in which development in
social infrastructures such as better roads, water supply, electricity, schools and hospitals spreads out
from the urban centres or communities and moves into the rural villages and communities.
Abumere S.I. (2002) stated that if rural development is defined as a means to help improve the
physical, cultural, social and economic status or life of the rural people then that means that
infrastructures such as roads, clean water, electricity, telecommunication and other facilities must be
carefully planned and delivered to the rural people in a consistent manner. It doesn't matter whether
these infrastructures are built from the urban centres and move into the rural areas or vice versa. The
delivery mechanisms must be very consistent.
Inorder for any country to develope and progress both socially and economically, it must have the
necessary infrastructures that are needed to facilitate such development, in both urban and rural
areas of the country.
However studies have shown that in most developing countries, rural areas/villages are mostly
neglected therefore these rural areas don't have these basic infrastructures that are needed for
development. Therefore there is a huge demand for building infrastructures into rural areas.
That is very true for Papua New Guinea where the bulks of the population live in the rural areas.
The Gena villagers are one of the

My Perfect Writing Place Essay
My first inclination, when I was assigned to write about my perfect writing workplace, was to pick a
verandah on a beach house overlooking the ocean maybe in the Caribbean. I absolutely love the
sound and smell of the ocean. But upon further reflection, I decided that would not be my perfect
place, at least, it would not be my perfect writing place, now for a vacation, it would be fantastic.
So, after much consideration, I decided that I would love to have a writing retreat in a rustic setting.
This setting would be much like what I have now, except that it would be self–contained. I would
have a spot for myself, maybe a shed or a tiny house where no one would interrupt me. One thing I
would not have is a telephone because I really loathe talking on the phone since I must use it at work
continuously.
The more I contemplate it, the more I am leaning toward a tiny house with an open floor plan and a
nice bathroom. In my perfect spot, a soaking tub would be ideal as I do some of my best thinking
while soaking in the bath. Nice comfortable chairs would be my preferred ... Show more content on

The Gap Between Pennsylvania And Kentucky
One of the trends that is consistent between Pennsylvania and Kentucky is the discrepancy between
physicians available in rural areas versus urban areas. For example, in Pennsylvania in 2012 for
every 100,000 persons in an urban area of the state there was 273 physicians available. While in the
rural areas per every 100,000 in population there was only 150 physicians. (2012 Pulse of
Pennsylvania's Physician and Physician Assistant Workforce, 2014). The reason behind this trend is
simple, the larger the area the greater the financial opportunities. Also urban areas tend to have
larger hospital facilities that provide access to well–equipped facilities, with lab services, radiology
departments, staffed surgical suites, new medical devices to assist in surgery such as laser and
robotics, and updated imaging devices. (Johnson and Cooper, 1982). These statistics highlight the
need to institute methods that will attract providers to the rural areas. Whether this is through
scholarship programs for those who intend to work in a rural area upon graduation, accepting federal
funds to expand rural hospitals and improve technology, accepting federal funds to expand Medicaid
programs, or a combination of all three providers need incentive to move into the rural areas. The
standard of care needs to be consistent across the state no matter what area a patient lives in. What is
clear from the research is that both Kentucky and Pennsylvania have a large percentage of the

Map Of Global Rural Population Distribution Essay
Currently 3.4 billion people live in remote and rural areas. Physical, geopolitical, and financial
impediments create an environment where it is difficult to access healthcare. (1) After examining the
major extrinsic and intrinsic factors in healthcare delivery to rural areas, we extrapolate how
existing technology and supply chain management can be leveraged to create cost effective, large
scale, and ultimately self–sustaining strategy.
FIGURE 1
Map of Global Rural Population Distribution INTRODUCTION
There are two main factors that generally dictate one's ability to get health care services. Those two
factors are affordability and accessibility. For those in living in urban areas, or developed rural
areas, the focus is primarily on the financial impact of accessing healthcare. However, for the other
half of the world the accessibility issue is one of physical and geopolitical nature, though in the end
underlying costs also play a secondary factor. In these rural areas even routine medical exams like
physicals, vaccinations, and simple neo–natal care like vitamin supplementation are difficult to
acquire.
Identifying issues that contribute to the difficulties associated with healthcare delivery is easy. There
were plenty of issues we already anticipated, and many arose during our research into our white
paper topic. The real difficulty was identifying the starting point from where a solution could begin
to be engineered. With the global economy being so integrated, the

Efficacy Of Telemedicine Essay
In 2010 a study was completed in the state of California in order to evaluate the efficacy of
telemedicine to reduce barriers to healthcare in rural populations (Ritter, L., Robinette, T., &
Cofano, J., 2010). The assessment was made in 33 counties throughout California and was
accomplished through patient satisfaction survey. The ultimate result of the survey was that
telemedicine can improve access to care for people in rural settings, along with those who live in
situations that make it difficult to access care.
Ritter, Robinette, & Cofano (2010), refer to the California Telehealth and eHealth Center's definition
for telemedicine. This definition is: "the use of telecommunications and information technologies

(2008), has shown that CCTM is a viable approach to chronic disease management. They included a
large volume of patients over a number of years and proved that the program is viable in all kinds of
demographic settings from urban, to super rural. This particular review further agrees with other
studies relating to customer satisfaction using telemedicine. This seems universal across studies. The
area where this particular evaluation differs from the others is the proof that it does reduce
consumption of care, and reduces cost of care. This review validates this in a significant manner.
The VHA appears to have developed a solid program model for delivering CCTM to its customer
base, and the customer base seems to like it. This case report supports the capstone project question
by validating the efficacy of case management via telemedicine. As illustrated by the patient
enrolled in the CP program there is a desire to participate in her care. However, she is physically
unable to do so because of a lack of transportation. CCTM would enable this patient to manage her
chronic diseases while being engaged with her primary care team so that her experience of care
would improve, while simultaneously reducing her per capita cost of care as she would no longer
have to rely on emergency services to provide her

417 rural electric cooperatives, which served 288,000 households. Claverack was one of those

Essay on Reasons Behind China’s Enlarging Rural-Urban Divide
Urbanization brings with it a disparity between rural and urban living standards. Nonetheless, in
China this gap has started to become quite severe and has become a cause for concern (Naughton
113). Chinas Gini coefficient is currently at .415, which displays the increasing disparity in the
country ("DISTRIBUTION OF FAMILY"). The rural–urban divide begun with the different ways
the Chinese government ran the rural and urban areas. The urban areas were fully under control of
the central government and since they were seen as the building blocks of the country they received
many governmental subsidies. Workers in urban areas received pensions, healthcare, had job
security, cheaper consumer goods due to subsidies and often had access to ... Show more content on

This is especially true for the poorer regions that cannot afford to greatly subsidize the education
system. This is a problem for the already poorer rural residents and causes many families to not be
able to afford to pay for more than the mandatory 9 years of schooling. Though some areas have
stopped requiring their students to pay tuition China lacks an adequate amount of schools and
parents still have to bear transportation costs (Hussain). This leads to a repetitive cycle of poverty in
which rural children cannot obtain the adequate education that could lead them to obtain a higher
paying job and leave the poverty cycle.
Another issue that contributes to the rural–urban divide is the extremely high cost of health care. In
2006, 39% of the rural population could not afford "professional medical treatment" ("Healthcare in
China"). Even though the government has introduced various systems to try to overcome this lack of
access to medical care, such as the Rural Cooperative Medical Scheme and has increased
expenditure on health care, the results of this have not been equally spread. Many rural residents are
still uninsured and have large out of pocket health care expenses. In addition, "80 percent of health
expenditures are allocated to urban areas even though 70 percent of the population resides in rural
areas" ("Healthcare in China"). This is an example of Chinas

Globalization Is Not A New Concept
As with the growing interdependence of an economy on the others is the growing norm of the
world's society. Why the countries are dependent on one another? Can't they survive isolated from
the rest of the world? The answer is laid upon the term Globalization. The globalization is not a new
concept; it even existed even thousands of years ago. However, it became much popular in the
nineteenth century most prevalently after the world war when the economies around the world tend
to grow and develop outside its geographical region. The technological progress increased the
production of computers and internet usage started to become prevalent, and this in turn reduced the
communication barriers between people. The reduced cost of communicating increased the openness
to international trade. The economic system shifted from planned to more of market economy. The
minimum government intervention created a greater competition between firms and hence a better
output (Santarelli, 2002). There are certain factors of globalization which includes the integration of
capital, labor and products. Firstly, there is an increase in capital–labor mobility due to economic
transitions between countries and secondly, there is a flow of knowledge and information between
countries (Sindzingre, 2005). Globalization is a very important debated issue. It is a phenomenon
which focuses on increase in openness to trade, reduced transportation costs and transfer of
technology. The concept of globalization

Postpartum Depression : Causes And Effects
Postpartum Depression in Rural U.S Communities Amanda L. Ruiz Widener University
Overview
The overview of this article is postpartum depression in rural Unites States communities.
Researchers search to find the causes and effects of postpartum depression in rural US communities.
There are many reasons this is a problem because it not only effects women but it effects children,
the family unit as a whole, communities and many other areas as well. There are people that move to
rural areas because the cost of living can be cheaper and a family that is trying to save money could
view rural home life as a way to save money. There can be a downside though this becomes the lack
of quality healthcare, poor education opportunities, distance is typically too far for many to be able
to see quality services this all aides in the problems with Postpartum Depression. Nurses are the
frontline in spotting postpartum depression and there needs to be more screening for this major
problem.
Research topic/purpose
The research topic of this article is to find out and understand why rural communities have woman
with higher postpartum depression than other communities. The purpose is to have the nursing staff

Social Workers : A Rural Setting Face Each And Every Day...
This paper discusses the issues that social workers who practice in a rural setting face each and
every day. But, what does a town need to be considered rural? According to the United States
Census, any area that has less than 2500 people is considered to be a rural area (Branch 2016). Areas
with small populations such as these face many issues each day. These issues can include dual
relationships, limited availability of resources, confidentiality issues, transportation issues, and
having to take on more responsibility. All of these problems bring about difficulties for social
workers who practice in rural settings. One of the main issues with practicing in a rural setting
involves client confidentiality and how to maintain it in a rural setting. The odds of having a social
worker completing counseling sessions with someone that they know previously are very high when
you live and work in a small town. The client could be your next door neighbor or someone you
serve with on the local school board. Confidentiality has an exceedingly high chance of being
broken. In a small town, the locals will likely know who is currently going to the social worker's
office just by looking at who's cars are currently in the parking lot. A local social worker might also
have no choice but to deal with inquisitive neighbors asking him why their friend is in need of
professional help and other personal questions. This type of intrusion generates problems for the
client to be able to

The Importance Of Technology In Online Education
With the surge in technological innovations in the past decade, technology has become an integral
part of everyday life, including in education. Educators are constantly discovering and seeking out
new ways to implement technology to the benefit of their students. One of the most critical areas in
early childhood education is the development of reading, and literacy continues to be one of the
most important subjects throughout all of education. This is why building that strong foundation in
literacy is so important, and online reading skill development is one of the newest endeavours into
encouraging this strong start. One of the most tested and implemented online programs is
Headsprout, as mentioned by Dr. Eckerman in lecture. Headsprout is an online program that is
individualized for each student and tailored for them to work at their own pace. It is implemented in
elementary schools and automatically adjusts to the needs of the students as they progress through
the program. This is extremely beneficial because in most cases, teachers do not have the time to
devote to every child the assistance they need in order to fully grasp the concepts they are learning.
Every child learns at a different pace and in different ways. By having a personal lesson plan for
every student through the headsprout program, they are able to develop better literacy skills in a
shorter amount of time. The European Journal of Psychology of Education describes a study that

Rural Tourism And Urban Tourism
For some time, rural areas have seen a marked decrease in economic potential as a result of the
urbanization of most areas in the United States. Unlike many of the more populated areas, rural
areas are home to small communities that exist over a vast amount of land. Farmers, cattle herders
and the like often suffer from a lack of economic certainty whereas their profits hinge on the
conditions around them. It has become increasingly necessary to implement new methods of
revitalizing the economies of rural areas in order to create a more equally profitable nation. There
are many historical landmarks, key events and persons of interest all over the United States and that
appeal only appreciates over time. Many rural areas are beginning to capitalize on the industry that
seems to bring the most unbridle profit, tourism. Rural tourism is inclusive of many experiences that
take place in a rural setting from eco–tourism to ethno–tourism. There are many misconceptions that
exist about the benefits of rural tourism and the criticisms most often point towards the disruption of
the existing community. Yet the implementation of a successful rural tourism industry has proved
beneficial according to several studies conducted in the U.S. For instance, according to the
Economic Research Service "Rural tourism and recreational development results in lower local
poverty rates and improvements in other social conditions, such as local educational attainment and

Salvadoran hometown associations, NGO's, and other private organizations that help fund local
projects to develop social infrastructure in poor communities (Orozco and Rouse, 2007; Terry, 2005
). Although this is a smaller and fairly new program when compared to Mexico's Tres por Uno it has
created over 500 projects in El Salvador, involving infrastructure, recreation, and health (Orozco and

capital at a local level, greater human and economic development along with more successful
redirections of remittances. However, like other governmental projects it has some flaws such as
government transparency, and limited resources (Programa Unidos Por La Solidaridad. Nonetheless

Uneven Health Care Services in Australia
The health status of every individual is much more than a measure of their physical wellbeing. The
state of health varies throughout time and differs for every individual. The extent to which living in
rural Australia is a health hazard can be assessed according to the social determinants of health.
Apart from an individual's behaviour there are also other factors that affect a person's health; level of
education, geographical location of living status, employment, quality of food, home life, and
whether or not they live in a rural or metropolitan area. The extent to which people in rural and
remote areas is "less healthy" (ruralhealth.org.au). Residents of rural and remote communities
continue to show poorer health outcomes than residents in metropolitan centres, whilst the health of
indigenous communities remains unacceptable. In order to determine the effects of rural life on the
health of individuals one must first determine the difference of metropolitan and define what is
actually meant by 'rural and remote areas' within Australia.
Without the comparison of urban and rural areas how can one determine the extent of health
hazards? The way rural and remote is defined is very important. It is used to assess health and
workforce needs, and the resources allocated to meet the needs of the health of individuals within
communities. There are many different classification systems that have been developed to define
remote and rural Australia. These systems are used to

the unit sales by nearly 30% that will lead to $17.63m of profit from operations whereas, according
to original marketing plan would fetch $18.2m profit from operations .Therefore, original

investing around 3% of sales to advertisement. Langs's suggestion of opting the same strategy as
that in Thailand will not suffice the purpose in India because of the huge demographic difference
between the two countries.
Problem Statement
What is the feasibility of achieving a 25% to 30% growth in toothbrush business of Cottle India in
2010?
Options
Brinda patel basically has two options with her.
One was to go with her own option to stick to the original marketing plan and increase her sales by
20% or
Another option is to go by Lange's target of 20–25% growth in unit sales in the financial year by
increasing the budget of advertising.
Criteria for Evaluation
Financial analysis is one of the main criteria to evaluate the options present in the situation. In the
current scenario revenue generation and increasing the profit are the main things to be taken into
account. Since there are two criteria for evaluating the criteria we start with is the profit increasing
option.
Evaluation of options
Option 1: Brinda Patel should revise her marketing plan to achieve 30% unit sales growth
Lang projected a growth rate of the toothbrush sales by 16% for low end range, by 120%

Advancing Rural Healthcare: The APN Educator’s Ways and Means
When assessing the current state of healthcare in the United States, properly forming an answer
requires the separation of healthcare by geography, demographics, and economics. These factors
influence the quality and availability of services and resources available to clients and professionals.
The urban areas will usually have greater access to an array of services and resources, whereas the
rural areas will see limitation in this regard. The rural community is normally a place with an
eclectic collection of self–reliant people many of whom have never been exposed, within the context
of healthcare, to the complexities contained within the healthcare organizations in urban
environments. This factor does not eliminate or alleviate, for that ... Show more content on

Can I accomplish my personal goals and raise a family in a rural community going to be conducive
to these personal goals? These are examples of personal and professional questions that must be a
part of the metaparadigm assessment for the APN. If the professional goal is to promote the
advancement of healthcare within the healthcare community within the constraints of a rural setting
and one can embrace the eclectic nature of living in the rural environment, then it may be the case
that the APN is not limited but suited for the challenges presented by the metaparadigm. Rural
healthcare has a growing need for these professionals along with the services and education they can
provide. In rural America, more than 20 million Americans of the total 60 million total rural
residents do not receive the care they require. (Fact sheet, 2006) In taking these factors into
consideration the APN educator can be confident in the decision to practice in a rural community
which will accommodate the professional advancement that is the desired effect for the educator."
Shortages of health facilities, physicians, nurses and other health care professionals in rural and
isolated areas can result in individuals forgoing preventive medicine and necessary health
treatment." (Fact Sheet, 2006) When the decision is weighed in this context, factors which lure away
APN to the urban setting will be neutralized to some extent.

Personal And Shared Knowledge

  • 1. Personal And Shared Knowledge Knowledge in itself is a broad concept, however, it can be classified into two primary disciples: personal and shared. Personal knowledge is described as knowledge held by a certain individual based on their skills, abilities, talents and experiences. Whereas, shared knowledge is based on common knowledge shared amongst a group of people. In comparison to shared knowledge, it is more difficult to convey aspects of personal knowledge as they are experienced mainly by one individual and it is hard to understand another person's thoughts and experiences. Religion gives you a foundation where you can combine personal and shared knowledge. Religion provides interactions between people which gives a chance to gain and share knowledge, covering both aspects of "the knower". The knower's outreach consists of various aspects, such as, gender, upbringing environment, and spiritual outlooks. A person's gender, to a certain extent, affects their knowledge and view of the world. Gender roles can significantly affect how one views the world, as they have been imposed on a person since childhood. These roles are formed through cultural, religious, and societal means. For instance, in a particular religion the religious scripture suggests that men are obligated to 'feed and fend' for their families. This places pressure on males in a society to take on the role of the primary benefactor. Whereas in others, females are responsible for cooking, caring for children, and handling domestic ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 3. A New Dimension Of M Government E–PURJEE IN RURAL AREAS: A NEW DIMENSION OF M–GOVERNMENT ABSTRACT M–government services are becoming crucial substitutes. It is a part of modern ICT. But the thing is, ICT is not fenced only in the town areas. People of rural areas are also using ICT even if having fewer ideas about the systems. The notable thing is they can use it. The overview of my report isn't describing all the aspects of ICT. In this report, my objective is to magnify the concepts and effects of digital procurement (e–purjee) system by sugarcane growers in rural Bangladesh. It is a SMS– based purchase order system replacing than that of a paper–based. Analysis showed that m– governance (mobile–governance) system in Agricultural Sector seemed more complex than Educational Sector. The analysis identified that Agricultural Sector did not fulfilled the nature of sustainability in m–governance service in communication, but showed elasticity. Identifying these situations, now the government and policy makers are suggested to have proper plan, increase clearness, and inspire public participation in every m–governance service project. Based on these findings, I tried to indicate some practical and theoretical recommendations about the framework for rural technology based development projects. INTRODUCTION "M–government" extends the reach of e–government in public service delivery and includes the strategy and implementation of various types of wireless and mobile technology, applications, and ... • 5. Crime Statistics In Rural Communities Although many people seem to believe that rural communities and populations are without crime, this is a misconception that effects the way in which policing takes place. Crime statistics in local communities do not put emphasis on the happenings in rural communities. This leads to shortages in specialty crime units that could be useful in rural areas, though difficult to supply because of low usage. The resources, such as funding, that could be allocated to rural areas is then provided to other departments that benefit locals. This could lead to shortage of officers in rural communities, which causes strain on officers from higher shift loads. For a local police officer, work slates can be divided up as other staff can come and complete already ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This type of policing is reactive where police officers patrol communities looking for crimes that have or are occurring. This style of policing allows for all suspects to be treated the same regardless of criminogenic factors. This type of policing leads to higher arrests and can be used as a deterrent due to high numbers of people talking about the police catching their crimes. This type of policing is effective when focusing on tackling a specific crime that is causing great numbers of harm to societies as seen with initiatives on gun violence, drinking and driving or drug trafficking. This type of policing limits corruption, which can be seen in policing approaches where close community interactions can lead to bias an unfair treatment. However, traditional policing is not without drawbacks. This type of policing leaves no room for discretion leading to us viruses them mentality from not only the general population but the officers as well. The police officers will no longer see themselves as apart of the community but above the community they are apart of. Reactive policing does not address issues of the community problems; it only creates a temporary superficial solution to greater problems. Community policing works with the public to police as well as prevent crimes, which is not seen in traditional policing. Although community policing seems idea, there should be a policing approach that handles most crimes without bias as well as works with the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. The Case Of Legal Drinking Age The final situation I have had concerning unclear boundaries involved me and a professor. This individual was someone I had grown to know and respect and took several courses under. The incident occurred after I had graduated from Western Carolina University with my bachelor's degrees while I was living in Cullowhee over the summer. I was invited to the professor's house along with another former student to eat dinner with him and his wife. While we were eating the meal, the professor gave me and the other student a glass of wine to go with dinner. Even though I was of legal drinking age and was no longer a student of the professor's, it felt strange to have a professor provide me alcohol. Also, I felt uncomfortable being in the professor's home since it was the first time I had socialized with a professor outside of a school environment. I later discussed the event with the other student to inquire if the situation also made her uncomfortable. The individual disclosed that she did not feel uncomfortable since this was not her first time having dinner with the professor and his wife. I did not talk about how this incident made me feel with my professor. The reason the boundaries were unclear in this situation was that there was a multiple relationship. I was now the professor's former student as well as an individual who had a social relationship with the professor. Unlike the two previous examples, I was not the individual with a position of power. Since the second person ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The phenomenon of rapid urbanization in less developed countries and in the absence of extensive industrialization, led to the emergence of illegal settlements and shanty towns, discuss the relationship between urbanization, poverty and development; and use a case study to illustrate the effects of rapid urbanization in LDC's. Rural–urban migration occurs at varying rates in every country. This paper focuses on the process of rural–urban migration and its influence on urbanization in developing countries. It presents arguments in support of the proposal that rural–urban migration is an inevitable component of the development process, and does not necessarily have to result in opposing impacts with the right mix of policies, this process can occur at a socially acceptable level. However, the misrepresentation of opportunities in favor of cities in most developing countries, the costs associated with rural–urban migration often outweigh the benefits, which lead to excessive urbanization with special emphasis on the causes and consequences of rural–urban migration, and their relationship with urbanization and economic growth. Keeping into consideration the fact that rural–urban migration is an integral part of the development process. Also the paper will give a brief historical background about the rapid urbanization change in developing countries over time and will be applying a case study of a country to illustrate this change. • 11. A Brief Note On The Context ( Iad ) Biophysical Context (IAD) a) Natural Infrastructure There is specifically no natural element involved in an EV industry. Except for the fact that we are trying to conserve natural fossil fuels and reduce the problems of exhaust emissions from internal combustion engines by encouraging EVs as mode of transportation. EVs are man made solution to the depletion of natural resources and climate change. b) Human–made infrastructure To power an electric vehicle, consumers must have the ability to connect their vehicle to a source of electricity, the utility must have the capacity to transmit and distribute this additional power and sufficient electricity generation capacity must exist. The onus is on the government as well as the private sector to meet these three conditions i.e. providing 1. Charging equipment 2. Distribution capacity and 3. Electricity generation. The charging equipment is not very expensive and it would not be difficult for households and commercial enterprises to install them. The adequacy of the generation and distribution systems need to be upgraded and monitored and necessary investments need to be made to keep up with the increasing demand from EVs. Finally, if there emerges the need for a rapid electrification campaign, the utilities will be under pressure to build new facilities and the older coal–fired power plants will remain in use, ironically diluting the environmental benefits of EV adoption strategy. Therefore, adequate expansion of infrastructure ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 13. The Pros And Cons Of Parent-Child Therapy Another form of therapy for child abuse is called the Abuse–focused cognitive behavioral therapy ( AF–CBT). It involves the children, those who have been physical abused or had severe physical punishment, as well as the offending parent. It teaches the parents and children emotional control to reduce violent conflict. Understanding of family violence, thought/ feelings of abuse, and how–to manager anger/stress are also part of AF–CBT. Parents also focus on self–regulation, and how to manage feelings and reactions, as well as focusing on the responsibility of the abuse. AF–CBT helps the child and parent solve problems, and communicate effectively. The study suggests that a this therapy causes a decrease in parent–to–child violence, parental distress, and abuse risk. After a year, there is family functioning. As well as children experience less physical discipline and fewer problems (Paul, Gray, Elhai, Massad, & Stamm, 2006). In addition, Parent–child interaction therapy (PCIT), has shown to be effective in child abuse victims and their parents. Improvements of parenting skills, less child behavioral problems, and better parent–child relationship are all outcomes of PCIT. In this therapy the parent and child have directed interaction. The parent is taught communication skills. After that the parent can play with the child while the therapist coaches the parent. Clear commands are taught to use at home and in public. In this activity the child must lead the activity and the parent mustn't criticize the child to create a positive relationship. The study suggested that PCIT decreased reports of abuse and decreased behavior at school (Paul, Gray, Elhai, Massad, & Stamm, 2006). Some strains could be alleviated if there was more access to family social services. Less qualified case workers, longer driving distances and inexecrable transportation became serious issues with trying to provide social services for everyone (Walsh & Mattingly, 2012). Health in families becomes an obstacle because of isolation and the lack of services to the area. Child abuse rates would go down if there were interventions designed to help struggling families sooner. Many assistant programs should be unique to every family to help them ... • 15. Use Of Distance Education Within A Rural Setting Essay The Use of Distance Education in Continuing Interprofessional Education within a Rural Setting Interprofessional education (IPE) is an imperative form of educating a variety of healthcare professionals (HCPs). With factors such as an ageing population and an increase in the number of patients with chronic health conditions, patient care has become more complex, requiring HCPs to work together collaboratively. While many institutions initiate education for new HCPs with IPE as a part of existing curriculum, current staff working in clinical areas require continuing education to educate on how to work efficiently in the interprofessional team after they obtain their licensing. Continuing interprofessional education (CIPE) is an important part of ongoing HCP education to ensure HCPS maintain a continued focus and practice on working in an interprofessional environment. While larger tertiary centres employ educators with an ability to conduct CIPE, rural and isolated urban areas experience greater difficulty in managing CIPE, thus a distance education focus is required. An understanding of the efficiency of distance education in the CIPE setting, in addition to the most effective methods of providing CIPE is required for educators with an interdisciplinary focus in the rural setting. In this paper, we will examine CIPE, issues regarding CIPE in remote areas, and the use of distance education for CIPE. Literature Search The Athabasca University Library was used as a ... Some of the things that have attracted these auto giants to these Southern States is the cost of living and operating advantages which far surpass those of their Northern counterparts, which also attract more white–collar workers. The Volvo plant is no different, their goal for building in South Carolina is an attempt to re–focus it US market share, which had long diminished. Although having these auto giants, such as Volvo come in to these small rural towns to encourage growth and development, what effect does it really have in the community? I supported Christine in understanding the reason women use, issues related to shame and stigma for women that are parenting and substance involved and how alcohol use affected parenting. Anti–oppressive social work influenced my decision to arrange a case conference to ensure Christine was involved in her treatment and was able to voice her needs. Christine was disadvantaged because of her geographic location and disadvantaged by her sex, her education and her socio–economic level. Payne (2014) calls this an "emancipatory approach" to social work. According to Payne (2014), an empowerment view of social work would "empathize the importance of helping people lead a more fulfilling life by developing their skills and personal relationships" (p. 10). In working with Christine, I tried to support her with coping skills to deal with her depression and anxiety which in turn might assist her in not self–medicating with alcohol. Using a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy approach, I was able to help her be aware of how she used alcohol to deal with her pain and circumstances and how the alcohol use increased her pain and negative circumstances. By using these coping skills, she was able to reduce her dependency on alcohol; thereby improving her relationships with her family and friends. Ethical Considerations There are a number of ethical concerns that arose in the case. To begin with, while I did not live in Christine's home town, I did live in the 'County' which means that there were a number of individuals that we both knew. The major alterations were technological advancements that lead to additional job opportunities and made lives easier; however, the greater part of Japan, during the Meiji period, were not satisfied. These people were not benefiting from the changes that were occurring around them. In Mikiso Hane's book, Peasants, Rebels, Women, And Outcastes: The Underside of Modern Japan, the first chapter depicts the morbid ways in which Japanese peasants reacted to starvation and military conscription. Even though the peasants were the ones engaged in heavy labor for Japan, the profusion of wealth did not trickle down to them. No doubt, the elites at the top of the social pyramid were the superior social class who benefited and enjoyed the prosperity. In addition to hunger, the Meiji era had an abundant amount of measures that were introduced, but the compulsory military service generated the most commotion. A profuse amount of parents was opposed, for they were perturbed for their sons. A simpleton in "a booklet published in 1879" made a valid argument that it is not fair to exhort farmers into the military since they would have to "give up even their last grain of rice and receive nothing in return" (19). Asking these people, who were already on the verge of death, to die for Japan is requesting far too much. Why should an individual fight for a nation that does nothing in return for them? What is even worse is that losing a male in the household to the military conscription meant that the family was losing one pair of hands to manage the farm. If a family in poverty was already having troubles paying bills and maintaining the field, losing a worker would not improve the situation at all. • 23. I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings By Maya Angelou And The... The history of the world encompasses many wars that tragically left an impact to those who live in it. Blood–soaked battles, sleepless nights, and constant notion of terror are only few samples of what soldiers lived through. One may argue though that the lives of the families and friends of the soldiers were just as appalling. Constant fear invaded each individual's mind since people had no idea how the troopers were doing. Perhaps the outcome of the war scarred many and impacted the lives of virtuous communities. Indeed, these feelings are relived in "I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings" by Maya Angelou and The Stone Carvers by Jane Urquhart. Although both texts explore the importance of a pastoral setting and the creation of an artistic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For instance, Angelou mentions, "And his tune is heard/ On the distant hill/ For the caged bird/ Sings of freedom." (19–22). The bird simply tries to scream for help but his voice is only heard in the distant. To simplify, this particular circumstance establishes that a rural setting is isolated and lonesome. This causes the bird to be in terror due to its vacant surroundings as he understands nobody can aid him from his imprisonment. The bird's emotions are very different from its free counterpart, thus creating a dominant paradox in the poem; same environment, different situations. Nonetheless, Angelou describes both sides and illustrates how the setting plays a crucial role in each contradicting situation. As the case may be, Angelou immediately addresses the question of how something can deliver both good and bad. Similarly, Urquhart adequately goes through great extents illustrating the setting to near perfection. She highlights the ambience of a pastoral environment by including aspects of a country side and indicating the importance of it. However, the purpose of the setting is to indicate the destruction of nature caused by the war, unlike Angelou's paradoxical poem. For example, Urquhart mentions in the beginning of the novel, ". . . the setting sun appeared to be the tangled in the twisted forms of a stump fence, its rays colouring the steam of their breath a soft orange." (35). The author uses strong diction such as "tangled" and "twisted" to define the sun, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 25. Descriptive Essay On Mother Nature Mother Nature can be a wicked, wicked woman. Thanks the weather, farmers and ranchers are really getting hammered this year, and the hits just seem to keep coming. According to information from the National Centers For Environmental Information, there have been nearly a dozen weather and climate disaster events (not including Hurricanes Harvey and Irma, or wildfires) in 2017 where damages have totaled at least a billion dollars. Seeing what you have worked so hard for all your life under water, blown away or just simply gone is a helpless feeling. Farmers and ranchers can rebuild, but it's never the same, and the landscape is forever altered. Some of the scariest moments I've had in my life have been because of the weather. I can remember storms rolling through and seemed like the roof was going to come off the house. There aren't storm sirens across the rural landscape in the Ozarks, so you have to hope the TV or radio weatherman can give you enough warning when dangerous weather approached. Working at weekly and daily newspapers for many years, I was one of the people chasing the storms, camera and notebook in hand. It was part of the job, but it was never easy. I remember following a dozer into a rural area in 2003 after a deadly tornado ripped a path from Cedar to Camden County. It was my first up close look at the aftermath of a tornado. I have driven into areas that were under evacuation orders, thinking the whole time I was completely crazy, but I had a job to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Essay On Rural Retrirification SIGNFICANCE OF THE STUDY This study is important because it will guide the Government in future for making decision on expanding rural electrification program in areas without electricity and it will also encourage private participation in coming up with Mini Electrical Energy generation in rural areas like mini hydro, wind and Solar. It will also serve as a reference for ensuring that the Government has proper documentation on this area so that these positive impacts of rural electrification will be clearly supported by proper documentation and hence this will help the Government to secure more funding from Donors to further rural electrification programs It is believed that the availability and reliability of information from this study ... They may lie at a reasonable distance from national or regional electricity grids (remote villages in the Amazon) and may have difficulties in getting connected to Electricity (far from urban centers with a difficult terrain such as large rivers or jungles). Naturally they may suffer harsh climatic conditions that render electrification through grid extension a perilous task . In adding to these challenges, the rural poor areas without access to electricity either spend relatively large amounts of their scarce financial resources on energy, or a disproportionate amount of time collecting firewood from the jungle or also lead to depletion of natural resources. Rural electrification can have a positive impact on social and economic development in the households, farms and establishments . If rural areas are electrified they may lead to certain changes or social/economic development at the village level as well as at the household level. At both levels, these changes might involve employment, incomes, productivity and others. In the agricultural sector, rural electrification might lead to changes in irrigated area enhancing changes in cropping intensity and cropping pattern, which in turn leads to changes in the use of factors of ... • 29. Three to One Doctor Sharing Coronation, Castor and Consort are small towns in rural Alberta. All three lie along highway 12, approximately half an hour from each other. These small towns, although quite distant from each other share one very important thing–a doctor on call. This is becoming a more common trend in rural areas with a decline in health care physicians willing to work in such a secluded area far from amenities. This means that some days a physician is available in one town for as little as an hour or simply not present in the hospital at all. Health care is poor to limited for these rural areas, since there are far more people seeking medical attention than can be properly assisted in a reasonable amount of time. The availability of medical staff is crucial to the quality of health care provided in a hospital (NRHA). There is generally a lack of medical staff including physicians and nurses in rural hospitals. Even the shortage of a single physician is extremely likely to have widespread impacts in a rural community (NAC 2008). In order for these rural communities to maintain a positive, functioning health care system, more physicians and nurses need to be recruited to work in the rural setting. This means encouraging more health care physicians and staff to choose rural settings to work (NRHA 2003). With all of the definite downfalls of a rural community, there are many reasons rural communities are struggling to maintain adequate staff at hospitals. Students in the medical ... Dr. Andreas Poppy was known to be a bit of a lazy doctor when making house calls. He would leave a "pill and a bill" and leave the rest up to fate. This earned him a few enemies along the way, but no one thought that he would ever be kidnapped and used for his access to prescription drugs. When Wilbur Unisex came upon the scene he was able to deduce that four men had been waiting to kidnap Dr. Poppy, take him, his drugs, and his prescription pad, and make a break for the Canadian border. The evidence in the room that Wilbur Unisex came upon points to four men as the culprits. First, the shelves along the wall held items that would indicate four people had been using the cabin. There were four sets of dishes and cups stacked on the shelves and there were large containers of food, which would indicate that more than one person was using the cabin. Another piece of evidence that suggest that four people were present was the arrangement of the room itself. There is evidence that there were three men playing cards at the table. There is also evidence that Dr. Poppy was taken, and not killed. Next to the map is what appears to be tape and rope. Lamb To The Slaughter Comparative Essay Thesis: In both "Lamb to the Slaughter" and "A Jury of Her Peers", evidence was destroyed to keep the murder confined, but the two wives had different motives for murdering their husbands, and the stories took place in different time periods. One similarity between the two stories, "Lamb to the Slaughter" and "A Jury of Her Peers", was that in both stories, someone ends up destroying evidence. In "Lamb to the Slaughter", the wife killed her husband with a leg of lamb. After killing him, she put the leg of lamb in the oven to cook! She ended up serving it to the hungry detectives who were trying to figure out who killed her husband. It's ironic because toward the end of the story, the men said, "...probably right under our very noses." They were talking about the weapon used to kill their detective friend, Patrick Maloney. "Lamb to the Slaughter" took place during the 1950s in a fairly large city in Canada. The wife's job was to take care of the house, make dinner, make her husband happy, and eventually take care of their child. "A Jury of Her Peers", on the other hand, took place in a rural area in 1917. The setting was a rural area because they talked about living in an old house that had a barn. Also, readers can infer a rural setting because the house was isolated and separate from every other house nearby. We can also assume this was in the late 1910s because separation and divorce between a husband and wife was unheard of at that time. This is another reason Minnie took matters into her own ... How did these migrants change once they were in the United States? How did they change America, cities or otherwise? The racial composition cities in the United States underwent a major changes that might be considered as decisive shortly after World War I. For example, in the 1920s, Chicago 's urban black population grew by 148 percent; Cleveland 's by 307 percent; Detroit 's by 611 percent. (Cengage MindTap, n.p.). A number of reasons brought about the movement of African Americans to northern cities from the south. First and perhaps a clear reason is the African American annoyance of Jim Crow disfranchising system in the South. Secondly, a large numbers of African Americans were forced to leave their homes and families in the south in their search for a better life following the depressed cotton market as well as the natural disasters that reduced many black land–owner to sharecropping or tenant farmers trapped in vicious cycle of indebtedness. From a positive perspective, the massive military conscription that occurred during WWI caused labor shortages, particularly in the northern region of the United States. These labor shortages appeared to be an opportunity that offered African American for employment in steel, shipbuilding, and automotive industries, meat packing factories, and also in plants that specialized in ammunition production (Cengage MindTap, n.p.). Many cities adopted residential segregation ordinances such that disallowed blacks to establish residence in predominantly white neighborhoods. To that end, housing issues became a contentious matter between blacks and whites throughout and beyond the Great Immigration era. Although the U.S. Supreme Court made a ... • 39. Far From The Madding Crowd Analysis In Thomas Hardy's novel, titled Far From The Madding Crowd, the protagonist, Bathsheba, is surrounded by three different suitors. Gabriel, Boldwood, and Troy each try to win her hand in marriage. The different characteristics of these characters create a dynamic story where marriage and love are both highlighted and critiqued. The majority of this conflict takes place in the fictional area of Wessex, England. Hardy uses this fictional setting, and the surrounding town of Weatherbury, to depict how rural England was slowly going extinct with the rise of modern technology and industry. As a result of this rural setting, many of elements of pastoral literature are seen in the novel. Due to this, the text is often referred to as a pastoral novel. Pastoral novels portray rural country life as free from the complexity and corruption of city life. This idealized approach often uses shepherds and other natural elements in a poetic way to describe both love and freedom. Hardy uses the connotation associated with pastoral literature sarcastically to demonstrate how even in rural life social problems do arise. In the case of this work, the pastoral elements are structured in a way to create parallelism. These parallel episodes compare and contrast different characters through figurative language. The repetition of these motifs reflect and influence characters as well as develop themes. The contrast of fire and water is seen many times throughout the text. In Chapters Six and Thirty ... However, when a child with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is born there are predetermined aspects to their health and personality. Large biological differences makes environments that are beneficial to atypical children potentially harmful to children who have autism. Autism directly impacts socialization and learning aspects that come easy to children who do not possess autism. Thus, large amount of social services are used to adjust the child to their environment. Growing up in a rural environment has many positive effects on an autistic child's mindset and wellbeing, but these positive effects can often be outweighed by the risks associated with living in such a sparsely populated area. Children who have autism require many aspects of life to be accommodated to their biological condition. One out of 68 people have been diagnosed with a form of ASD, and this number only continues to grow (Mello, Goldman, Urbano& Hodapp 2016). Growing up with autism is not an easy feat. Thus, large family ties are needed to support the child. However, in rural environments this is not always possible. In rural environments families make $50,000 or less each year in 53.6% cases; while urban families made less than $50,000 in 35.6% cases. Clearly the deficiencies in the health care profession are a major issue for low class citizens, specifically the elderly, living in rural areas that deserve attention. As a result, health care facilities and physicians in rural areas go by the population with health benefits so they can assist the patient. Otherwise, if the patient does not have health benefits would have to wait longer or seek medical support from a distance. A study was conducted comparing the access and quality of health care in rural and urban areas to see if both areas were equivalent to each other. The result showed a significant deficiency in rural areas (Reschovsky & Staiti, 2005). In addition to the results, three sets were identified between barriers and in to show a connection to the results in providing health care. First the "convenience of use" barrier states that in the rural areas the populations are lower and the residents have a tendency to wait to seek care, travel far distances for their appointments and after arrival, wait longer to be seen by a physician. INTRODUCTION Currently, most of the world's population is living in urban areas which have implications for land use and land changes, use of natural resources, and the absorption of rural labour in urban areas. The rural and urban interdependence means the flow of natural resources, agricultural commodity, money, information and services between rural and urban areas. Moreover, the rural population is adopting the urban style and behaviour or is becoming socially urbanized. According to Steinberg (2014) economic development and natural resource use and as well as livelihoods bind urban and rural areas together. These indicate that urban and rural areas have a symbiotic relationship, which makes them to depend on each other. Thus, one area needs the other to function and develop. The Development Of Rural Development 3.2 Rural Development According to Oyeleye, D.A.(1987) he defines rural development as process in which development in social infrastructures such as better roads, water supply, electricity, schools and hospitals spreads out from the urban centres or communities and moves into the rural villages and communities. Abumere S.I. (2002) stated that if rural development is defined as a means to help improve the physical, cultural, social and economic status or life of the rural people then that means that infrastructures such as roads, clean water, electricity, telecommunication and other facilities must be carefully planned and delivered to the rural people in a consistent manner. It doesn't matter whether these infrastructures are built from the urban centres and move into the rural areas or vice versa. The delivery mechanisms must be very consistent. Inorder for any country to develope and progress both socially and economically, it must have the necessary infrastructures that are needed to facilitate such development, in both urban and rural areas of the country. However studies have shown that in most developing countries, rural areas/villages are mostly neglected therefore these rural areas don't have these basic infrastructures that are needed for development. Therefore there is a huge demand for building infrastructures into rural areas. That is very true for Papua New Guinea where the bulks of the population live in the rural areas. • 51. The Gap Between Pennsylvania And Kentucky One of the trends that is consistent between Pennsylvania and Kentucky is the discrepancy between physicians available in rural areas versus urban areas. For example, in Pennsylvania in 2012 for every 100,000 persons in an urban area of the state there was 273 physicians available. While in the rural areas per every 100,000 in population there was only 150 physicians. (2012 Pulse of Pennsylvania's Physician and Physician Assistant Workforce, 2014). The reason behind this trend is simple, the larger the area the greater the financial opportunities. Also urban areas tend to have larger hospital facilities that provide access to well–equipped facilities, with lab services, radiology departments, staffed surgical suites, new medical devices to assist in surgery such as laser and robotics, and updated imaging devices. (Johnson and Cooper, 1982). These statistics highlight the need to institute methods that will attract providers to the rural areas. Whether this is through scholarship programs for those who intend to work in a rural area upon graduation, accepting federal funds to expand rural hospitals and improve technology, accepting federal funds to expand Medicaid programs, or a combination of all three providers need incentive to move into the rural areas. (1) After examining the major extrinsic and intrinsic factors in healthcare delivery to rural areas, we extrapolate how existing technology and supply chain management can be leveraged to create cost effective, large scale, and ultimately self–sustaining strategy. FIGURE 1 Map of Global Rural Population Distribution INTRODUCTION There are two main factors that generally dictate one's ability to get health care services. Those two factors are affordability and accessibility. For those in living in urban areas, or developed rural areas, the focus is primarily on the financial impact of accessing healthcare. However, for the other half of the world the accessibility issue is one of physical and geopolitical nature, though in the end underlying costs also play a secondary factor. In these rural areas even routine medical exams like physicals, vaccinations, and simple neo–natal care like vitamin supplementation are difficult to acquire. The area where this particular evaluation differs from the others is the proof that it does reduce consumption of care, and reduces cost of care. This review validates this in a significant manner. Nonetheless, in China this gap has started to become quite severe and has become a cause for concern (Naughton 113). Chinas Gini coefficient is currently at .415, which displays the increasing disparity in the country ("DISTRIBUTION OF FAMILY"). The rural–urban divide begun with the different ways the Chinese government ran the rural and urban areas. This is especially true for the poorer regions that cannot afford to greatly subsidize the education system. This is a problem for the already poorer rural residents and causes many families to not be able to afford to pay for more than the mandatory 9 years of schooling. Though some areas have stopped requiring their students to pay tuition China lacks an adequate amount of schools and parents still have to bear transportation costs (Hussain). This leads to a repetitive cycle of poverty in which rural children cannot obtain the adequate education that could lead them to obtain a higher paying job and leave the poverty cycle. Another issue that contributes to the rural–urban divide is the extremely high cost of health care. In 2006, 39% of the rural population could not afford "professional medical treatment" ("Healthcare in China"). Even though the government has introduced various systems to try to overcome this lack of access to medical care, such as the Rural Cooperative Medical Scheme and has increased expenditure on health care, the results of this have not been equally spread. • 61. Globalization Is Not A New Concept As with the growing interdependence of an economy on the others is the growing norm of the world's society. Why the countries are dependent on one another? Can't they survive isolated from the rest of the world? The answer is laid upon the term Globalization. The globalization is not a new concept; it even existed even thousands of years ago. However, it became much popular in the nineteenth century most prevalently after the world war when the economies around the world tend to grow and develop outside its geographical region. The technological progress increased the production of computers and internet usage started to become prevalent, and this in turn reduced the communication barriers between people. The reduced cost of communicating increased the openness to international trade. The economic system shifted from planned to more of market economy. The minimum government intervention created a greater competition between firms and hence a better output (Santarelli, 2002). There are certain factors of globalization which includes the integration of capital, labor and products. Firstly, there is an increase in capital–labor mobility due to economic transitions between countries and secondly, there is a flow of knowledge and information between countries (Sindzingre, 2005). • 65. Social Workers : A Rural Setting Face Each And Every Day... This paper discusses the issues that social workers who practice in a rural setting face each and every day. But, what does a town need to be considered rural? According to the United States Census, any area that has less than 2500 people is considered to be a rural area (Branch 2016). Areas with small populations such as these face many issues each day. These issues can include dual relationships, limited availability of resources, confidentiality issues, transportation issues, and having to take on more responsibility. All of these problems bring about difficulties for social workers who practice in rural settings. One of the main issues with practicing in a rural setting involves client confidentiality and how to maintain it in a rural setting. The odds of having a social worker completing counseling sessions with someone that they know previously are very high when you live and work in a small town. The client could be your next door neighbor or someone you serve with on the local school board. Confidentiality has an exceedingly high chance of being broken. In a small town, the locals will likely know who is currently going to the social worker's office just by looking at who's cars are currently in the parking lot. A local social worker might also have no choice but to deal with inquisitive neighbors asking him why their friend is in need of professional help and other personal questions. This type of intrusion generates problems for the client to be able to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Importance Of Technology In Online Education With the surge in technological innovations in the past decade, technology has become an integral part of everyday life, including in education. Educators are constantly discovering and seeking out new ways to implement technology to the benefit of their students. One of the most critical areas in early childhood education is the development of reading, and literacy continues to be one of the most important subjects throughout all of education. This is why building that strong foundation in literacy is so important, and online reading skill development is one of the newest endeavours into encouraging this strong start. One of the most tested and implemented online programs is Headsprout, as mentioned by Dr. Eckerman in lecture. Headsprout is an online program that is individualized for each student and tailored for them to work at their own pace. It is implemented in elementary schools and automatically adjusts to the needs of the students as they progress through the program. This is extremely beneficial because in most cases, teachers do not have the time to devote to every child the assistance they need in order to fully grasp the concepts they are learning. Every child learns at a different pace and in different ways. By having a personal lesson plan for every student through the headsprout program, they are able to develop better literacy skills in a shorter amount of time. The European Journal of Psychology of Education describes a study that investigates how ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 69. Rural Tourism And Urban Tourism For some time, rural areas have seen a marked decrease in economic potential as a result of the urbanization of most areas in the United States. Unlike many of the more populated areas, rural areas are home to small communities that exist over a vast amount of land. Farmers, cattle herders and the like often suffer from a lack of economic certainty whereas their profits hinge on the conditions around them. It has become increasingly necessary to implement new methods of revitalizing the economies of rural areas in order to create a more equally profitable nation. There are many historical landmarks, key events and persons of interest all over the United States and that appeal only appreciates over time. Many rural areas are beginning to capitalize on the industry that seems to bring the most unbridle profit, tourism. Rural tourism is inclusive of many experiences that take place in a rural setting from eco–tourism to ethno–tourism. There are many misconceptions that exist about the benefits of rural tourism and the criticisms most often point towards the disruption of the existing community. Yet the implementation of a successful rural tourism industry has proved beneficial according to several studies conducted in the U.S. For instance, according to the Economic Research Service "Rural tourism and recreational development results in lower local poverty rates and improvements in other social conditions, such as local educational attainment and health (measured by mortality ... The Government Of El Salvador Unidos por la Solidaridad The government of El Salvador has also created a similar program to Mexico's Tres por Uno called Unidos por la Solidaridad (Unity for Solidarity) (Orozco and Rouse, 2007). This program was launched in 2001 is managed by El Fondo de Inversión Social para el Desarrollo Local de El Salvador (FISDL), a national agency whose goal is to promote local development and reduce poverty in El Salvador (Orozco and Rouse, 2007). Unidos por la Solidaridad collaborates alongside Salvadoran hometown associations, NGO's, and other private organizations that help fund local projects to develop social infrastructure in poor communities (Orozco and Rouse, 2007; Terry, 2005 ). Although this is a smaller and fairly new program when compared to Mexico's Tres por Uno it has created over 500 projects in El Salvador, involving infrastructure, recreation, and health (Orozco and Rouse, 2007; Terry, 2005 ).. The total contribution of hometown associations (through remittances) has been over $2.1 million and continues to grow (Programa Unidos Por La Solidaridad; Terry, 2005 ). This program has too seen positive results in the community such as strengthening of the social capital at a local level, greater human and economic development along with more successful redirections of remittances. However, like other governmental projects it has some flaws such as government transparency, and limited resources (Programa Unidos Por La Solidaridad. Nonetheless the program continues to move ... • 73. Uneven Health Care Services in Australia The health status of every individual is much more than a measure of their physical wellbeing. The state of health varies throughout time and differs for every individual. The extent to which living in rural Australia is a health hazard can be assessed according to the social determinants of health. Apart from an individual's behaviour there are also other factors that affect a person's health; level of education, geographical location of living status, employment, quality of food, home life, and whether or not they live in a rural or metropolitan area. The extent to which people in rural and remote areas is "less healthy" (ruralhealth.org.au). Residents of rural and remote communities continue to show poorer health outcomes than residents in metropolitan centres, whilst the health of indigenous communities remains unacceptable. In order to determine the effects of rural life on the health of individuals one must first determine the difference of metropolitan and define what is actually meant by 'rural and remote areas' within Australia. Without the comparison of urban and rural areas how can one determine the extent of health hazards? The way rural and remote is defined is very important. It is used to assess health and workforce needs, and the resources allocated to meet the needs of the health of individuals within communities. There are many different classification systems that have been developed to define remote and rural Australia. These systems are used to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 78. Advancing Rural Healthcare: The APN Educator’s Ways and Means When assessing the current state of healthcare in the United States, properly forming an answer requires the separation of healthcare by geography, demographics, and economics. These factors influence the quality and availability of services and resources available to clients and professionals. The urban areas will usually have greater access to an array of services and resources, whereas the rural areas will see limitation in this regard. The rural community is normally a place with an eclectic collection of self–reliant people many of whom have never been exposed, within the context of healthcare, to the complexities contained within the healthcare organizations in urban environments. This factor does not eliminate or alleviate, for that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Can I accomplish my personal goals and raise a family in a rural community going to be conducive to these personal goals? These are examples of personal and professional questions that must be a part of the metaparadigm assessment for the APN. If the professional goal is to promote the advancement of healthcare within the healthcare community within the constraints of a rural setting and one can embrace the eclectic nature of living in the rural environment, then it may be the case that the APN is not limited but suited for the challenges presented by the metaparadigm. Rural healthcare has a growing need for these professionals along with the services and education they can provide. In rural America, more than 20 million Americans of the total 60 million total rural residents do not receive the care they require. (Fact sheet, 2006) In taking these factors into consideration the APN educator can be confident in the decision to practice in a rural community which will accommodate the professional advancement that is the desired effect for the educator." Shortages of health facilities, physicians, nurses and other health care professionals in rural and isolated areas can result in individuals forgoing preventive medicine and necessary health treatment." (Fact Sheet, 2006) When the decision is weighed in this context, factors which lure away APN to the urban setting will be neutralized to some extent. To inspire ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
