My family and I are getting a head start on planning a vacation next summer. Our last trip we took together as a family, many years ago, consulted AAA and got all the necessary hotel and restaurant info for entire trip. Flash forward to 2012, we decided to use the Internet and one of the many popular websites that offer to be able to find you the lowest prices on hotels anywhere you are going.

Travelocity.com
My family and I are getting a head start on planning a vacation next summer. Our last trip we took together
as a family, many years ago, consulted AAA and got all the necessary hotel and restaurant info for entire
trip. Flash forward to 2012, we decided to use the Internet and one of the many popular websites that offer
to be able to find you the lowest prices on hotels anywhere you are going.
The ones I decided to try out were the two that first came to mind after watching so many commercials for
them on television; Priceline.com and Travelocity.com. We have also had friends that recommended them
both and so we went with them.
2. Travelocity Flights | Travelocity.com vs. Priceline.com
The sites are basically same on how they work and real differences come in play when it comes to how
they look. They each use an online form that you fill out and it opens a page that displays all of the results
depending on how you filled in the form. The rest of this review will describe the results we received
during our planning for our trip and then a final result
Both websites use the same basic information to derive the results you are looking for:
● Destination – City or Airport
● Check in Date
● Check out Date
● Number of rooms
3. Travelocity Flights | Priceline.com
Since we had an idea when we were looking to travel on our vacation next summer, we plugged in all of the
information and waited for the results. After a very short period of time the result page popped up on the
screen.
We were happy to see that there was 21 hotels available in the vicinity of town we will be visiting. The
results page was very well laid out and easy to read. Each of the 21 hotels listed had a nightly price listed,
which ranged between $43.00 to $142.00 a night. Along with the price, you get a thumbnail pick of the
hotel, a Star ranking, a guest rating out of a possible 10 with a link to any guest reviews. Along with all of the
above there is also a short list of the free amenities and last but not least, four of the 21 hotel listed qualify
for their Name Your Own Price service.
We really like that we had a wide range of hotels to choose from at the times we were planning on
traveling. The website also offers their services for airline flights, rental cars and cruise packages. They seem
to have a great service and it very easy navigate web site.
4. Travelocity Flights | Travelocity.com
We used the exact information to filled out the search form on the Travelocity website and waited for the
result page to come up. When the page came up it had 30 hotels listed on the result page, which turned out
to be most of the same hotels that we found on Priceline.com. However, Travelocity.com’s results only
listed room prices for the four hotels that had rooms available for the time we planned to travel.
The results page on Travelocity.com also offered thumbnail images of each of the hotels/motels. They also
listed free amenities for each of the hotels, visitor reviews/ratings as well as Star ranking for the
hotel/motel.
Travelocity Flights | Our final opinion
After evaluating each experience we had using both Priceline.com and Travelocity.com, we came to the
conclusion that we would most likely use Priceline.com for all of our travel planning in the future. We really
liked how easy it was to navigate their website and the fact that each of the hotels listed on our results
pages.
If you are planning a future trip, you really should consider using Priceline.com for all your travel plans.
